Came with some clients and coworkers. Some of the highlights: MEDITTERANEAN TASTING ($14) - Pita bread with hummus, babaghanoush, tzatziki, and some sort of tabouleh. The hummus and tzatziki were probably the best, but everything but the tabouleh was really good. Probably worth it if you're in the mood for a lighter, healthier appetizer. PORTOBELLO STEAK FRIES ($8) - Very good. Just know that the panko breading is basically 'fried' portobello fries, but the breading and the aioli were fantastic. I'd get this again. CHEESE & CHARCUTERIE ($18) - We had a goat cheese, some sort of cheese that might have had coffee hints, salami, prosciutta, and one other Spanish meat. As with most charcuterie, good, if not slightly pricey. PACIFIC SCALLOPS ($26) - Decent. The avocado emulsion was great, and it was more filling than expected, but the flavor of the scallops and risotto left a bit to be desired. For the price, especially at lunch, I'd recommend trying something else. Service was excellent. No complaints there. Because service was good and they were able to seat a party of ~15 with a reservation, 3.5 stars becomes 4. Give it a go if you're in the area. Oh, and complementary valet parking at lunch!

Cool place to come if you're looking to have a nicer casual dinner or are hosting a business acquaintance. Happy hour is a great deal - we got there in time to order a few items and drinks. The portobello fries were delicious and done perfect. For the drinks I'd probably stick to wine, but that's because I only looked at the HH menu for drinks. My mixed drink wasn't the potency I was expecting. Ordered the Lobster salad and a steak salad. The steak salad looked great - perfect if you're doing that crazy low carb diet. Food was good.. not ground-breakingly awesome, but definitely solid. Service: Kristen our server was great - on the ball and out of the corner of my eye I could see her checking on us, but when we were in conversation she came back later to check on us. Nice touch! Great recommendations and just the right amount of chatty. The other staff was great too - filling up water, bringing our order in a timely fashion, so you could tell it was a team effort. Good job! Parking: thats the only issue. If you're coming during the day it's no big deal. self parking is in a structure about a 5 min way away from the restaurant (and Andrei's validates). You walk between two commercial buildings. The issue is at night. If you are alone, I'd recommend the valet. After sunset the area is pretty quiet and there is no parking attendant on site. There looked like a shady dude in a car (parked facing the structure walking entrance... he was just sitting in his car. I'll give him the benefit of a doubt and say he was waiting for someone. yeah.) thankfully a group of people just parked so i hurried to my car and locked the door. Overall a nice experience.

I liked this place! Came in with some coworkers during happy hour. We tried a few apps. Got (I can't remember exact names on some): Chicken kabobs Lobster salad Octopus salad Steak fries Avocado cheese things And, the champagne drink that was lavender infused. Everything was amazing. I especially liked the chicken kabobs

****Big Antelope Shank!**** Wait..did I miss something? Big "Juicy and Tender" Antelope Shank that is slow cooked for 5 hours. Fresh Texas Antelope is served here with some very fresh ingredients! I skimmed over the Yelp reviews and tried a couple of items, but the Antelope was the star. ~Antelope Shank- 5 Stars! Served with spice roasted root vegetables, Brussel sprouts and a side of roasted seasonal squash with olive oil and sage. The totality of the dish was nothing less than amazing. The combination with the Brussel sprouts was perfect. Surprisingly, the Shank was not served rare but cooked all the way through and the portion was more than sufficient! ~Braised Short Ribs with Couscous-4 Stars! This will run you almost $30. All Natural Braised Beef Short Rib, Beets, Orange, Red Onion, Carrot, Ginger, Raz El Hanout Honey, Dates, Cinnamon Couscous. Very vibrant flavors. The couscous is a big "wow!" ~Octopus Salad-2.5 Stars The octopus or squid salad that all the reviews talk about was just whatevers. I was not really a fan at all. ~Very nice ambiance, excellent service and upscale, yet casual, setting will cost you. But, this is something different. Pricey...but I am a fan! Antelope Shank in Irvine...another reason the OC is the best place to live!

For my second OC Restaurant Week menu, I decided to try out Andrei's Conscious Cuisine in Irvine, a spot that has struck my curiosity for the past year or so. It's a place I've always passed by and wondered what it was all about. So Monday evening, I set out to settle my questions. Driving in, there's options for valet or self-parking. Valet is free during lunch, but $3 for the evening is not that bad. Since Monday is not the busiest day for any restaurant, I decided to self park. The restaurant offers validation so you don't have to pay a dime, which is a nice plus! Located near a business complex, Andrei's is spacious and large with room to accommodate private parties on its ground floor. Yes, the building is two stories and the restaurant is located on the top. As you walk up the stairs, there's a ceiling to floor wall fountain with a giant fish statue at the top of the stairs. It was kind of strange and seemed out of place. However, the screens around the restaurant had jellyfish floating on loop, so maybe it was meant to set the vibe as serene and chill. After checking in with the hostess, we were promptly seated within a few minutes. Since I was here for restaurant week, I paid most of my attention to the offerings. With fish as my main entree, I inquired about what the best white pairing would be for the dish. Because the entree is pan-roasted and may be a little oily, she walked me through the best white wines and their flavor profiles. Once I made my decision, I was given a sample tasting of Lima from Portugal. The wine is fruity on the nose with tastes of white peach and apricots, finished with an acidic tang. I decided to stay with this choice and my full glass was brought out. Wow..so much wine, but thankfully I wasn't drinking on an empty stomach. A bread basket (mini French baguette and cranberry loaf) arrived to the table with butter. ~ First Course ~ Endive Salad with chopped endives, radicchio, Shaft blue cheese, Granny Smith green apples, candied pecans, parsley, champagne vinaigrette and toasted Harvest bread. The dressing tasted more like a apple cider vinegar base, but it paired nicely with the lighter greens and sliced apples. Roasted Beet Salad. Made with a medley of California beets, Soledad Farm goat cheese mousse, blood oranges, watercress and candied walnuts. Pops of citrus with the sweet beets was absolutely excellent. Combined with the goat cheese mousse, the creaminess added texture and then the bitter watercress added contrast. I seriously could eat this all day. ~ Second Course ~ Winter Vegetable Risotto. Made with barley, the risotto had mixed mushroom, spinach, asparagus, goat cheese, almonds and a balsamic vinegar reduction. Before I could even get a taste, my brother had finished it. He really enjoyed the crisp asparagus mixed with chunks of goat cheese. Seasonal Sea Bass served with rainbow swiss chard, mushrooms, organic red beet farro and a carrot-ginger emulsion. Our server described the plate as pan-roasted with skin on, but nope, there was no skin. Instead, it was pan-roasted to a golden brown with a stale crisp crust, which ended up overcooking the sea bass and leaving an oily streak across the plate. Surprisingly, the farro left the lasting impression instead. ~ Dessert ~ Dark Chocolate Creme Brulee with a pecan and bourbon cookie. My brother is a huge fan of chocolate, so he was quite excited to finish with this. Unfortunately, he described it as Jell-O chocolate pudding with torched sugar on top. Additionally, he was given a fork. When was the last time you tried to eat pudding with a fork?! We waited for our server to come around, but she was nowhere to be seen. Andrei's Signature Spiced Carrot Cake with cream cheese frosting, pomegranate glaze and walnut brittle. There's a lot of elements on this that didn't really complement each other. The cake was great with carrot crisps atop the frosting. However, the frosting had a slight yogurt-y flavor to it, the pomegranate glaze felt like an afterthought, and the walnut brittle was just plain ol' sugar brittle. I actually tried eating them altogether, but the taste was really, really odd. It's indescribable, but at least the cake is tasty. Although dinner started on a high note with much anticipation for the meal ahead, the excitement began to fizzle to mediocrity. Andrei's Conscious Cuisine incorporates farm to table practice, but execution was lacking and the story seems disconnected. Their attempt at conscious cuisine didn't let the ingredients shine through and the elements didn't always jive well together. At least when you dine-in, all restaurant profits go toward their philanthropic foundation for Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), so go ahead and eat for a good cause!

I was debating between 3.5-4 stars. In the end I am feeling generous because the service was wonderful and the ambience was nice. You get cute little pillows at your booths! Ooooohhh fancy...../ The Mr and I got together with a couple friends for dinner here and it was our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised. I started with "the Summer in Provence" some hoity toity fruity drink that's mixed with champagne. I liked it! I had their beet salad with goat cheese mousse.....brilliant!! I love beet salads but don't care for the goat cheese crumbs that usually accompanies a beet salad. They took care of that issue here and made it into a light foamy mousse. I'm a convert! This was wonderful. My husbands started with the chili and I got a bite of it and it was very tasty! Now get this...I don't even like chili. So that's saying quite a lot. I got their seabass, the Mr got the chicken. The chicken looked and smelled really really good and he finished it quickly. The seabass was prepared and served with the skin, when I saw it I was expecting the skin to be crispy. It wasn't. I was sad because I like it when the skin is crispy and the fish is soft. The dish was served with chard over a bed of risotto! I've been served a lot of stuff over risotto lately....hmmm. For dessert I got the carrot cake, goat cheese cake and the chocolate Creme brûlée. The chocolate brûlée was more like a chocolate mousse - so don't expect anything else- we didn't really care for it. The best was the carrot cake But then I love carrot cake so I may be biased. It wasn't as moist as I had envisioned it. But we will definitely come here again the next time the Mr has work in OC/the area and my girlfriend lives in the area so I'm sure she will be back and update me. Until then.....cheers!

We came here for the beignets but discovered the best salad I've ever had in my life: the New York steak salad!!! And I don't even eat salad normally! The meat and the dressing are exquisite as well as the mix of vegetables is just perfect for my taste! I would definitely want to try this if you get the chance! Atmosphere wise they have a beautiful outside terrace and the service is prompt and friendly.

I chose this restaurant to take the bf to for Saturday night dinner during OC Restaurant Week. I made a reservation and when we arrived I realized I didn't need to. I know this is more of a business area but for a Saturday night the place was pretty dead We both ordered the Restaurant Week menu which was a beef chili with sour cream and corn bread croutons. It was two croutons each to be exact. My main course was the chicken stuffed with something that was supposed to be stuffing but it seemed more like mushy rice, along with brussel sprouts and parsnips. The brussel sprouts were the best part and the parsnips were undercooked. The bf got the braised short rib with mashed potatoes, peas, and carrots. I liked his better though he thought the meat was bland. We both got the dark chocolate creme brulee for dessert. It was really chocolate mousse with a sugar carmelized top. The portions of each course were small. Very small. The service was so fast. Literally our dessert came as soon as they cleared away our plates. We were in and out of there for a three course meal in one hour flat. Normally speedy service is good but this really took away from the "experience". When you spend $100 on dinner for two you would like it to be relaxing and take it in. It really made the experience feel like it was not worth it.

I keep going back, and I just keep loving it more. Everything I've had on the menu is solid. Really loving the portobello "fries" lately.

Loved this place... Right in parking lot of my hotel. Easy to get a table, great service and many delightful food choices. We had the portabella frites.. Very good! I had the chicken salad for my entree.. Very fresh and loved all the fruits and veggies on it. Oh and good wine list btw :-) There is some outdoor seating avail also weather permitting with cool fire features.

What would you do if you were dining with me and I ordered by humming a song? - Home on the Range to be specific. What would you say if I told you the server figured it out right away? - Braised Antelope Shank to be specific! For me, Irvine is quite a ways to go for dinner but we made the trek. By the time I got there I was grouchy and hungry but by the time we walked through the front door, I was intrigued. By the time I sat down and took in the ambiance I was relaxed. By time I bantered with the hostess, the waiter, and my dining companions, I was in a good mood. It is the magical atmosphere of Andrei's. We started with 2 appetizers; both were huge and big enough to be a meal of their own. The Cilantro Clams was amazing. This Scampi like dish is made with clams and a big whooping of cilantro. I wish I had a bowl of rice for the sauce! Though the Wild Boar Chili may not be the best complement to the clams, I knew I could not end the night without tasting it. I expected a bougie type chili but surprisingly the Wild Boar Chili was a macho bowl of down home goodness of ground boar, beans and seasoning. My main entrée was a generous portion of shank cooked to... I want to say "al dente". The meat was slow cooked till just right. It was tender but yet had enough resistance that you knew it was not their senior special. The shank bone contained an abundance of delicate marrow that I had to tease out with my knife. It was served on a bed of aromatically spiced root veggies and Brussel sprouts which were perfect complements to the robust flavors of the shank. It was a warm late spring OC evening. Andrei's had their outdoor patio heaters going and lit by swirling gas fires lamps accented by soft lighting and music. We could not resist but to have our coffee and desert outside. I had their expresso - excellent. We shared an ice cream sandwich sampler and a Dark Chocolate Crème Brulee. Both were decadently good but the Crème Brulee is a definite standout! Next time? Lamb Burger if lunch and Short Rib Tagine if dinner.

This place is in walking distance of my workplace. Headed over for a lunch. Andrei's is a non-profit restaurant that is dedicated to the owners son, Andrei. He passed away in a car accident and all the proceeds go towards his foundation. Interesting, never been to this type of restaurant with such a background. Ordered a burger with truffle oil fries, flatbread pizza, and donuts with cayenne chocolate drizzle. All three dishes were pretty tasty. I had ask for a coke, but it taste like diet coke... so I'm thinking they don't have regular (I'm a very avid Coca-Cola drinker and it's not difficult to tell the difference between diet and regular). The atmosphere is sort of upscale, a lot of business/work people at this location having their lunch. It also looks like their menu doesn't stay the same and changes regularly, which is nice so you can try different dishes. Each dish averaged around $11-15 dollars.

Reading these reviews confuse me. Was it an off night? The staff were fantastic start to finish. The food however was not. Probably the worst meal I have had in my life. I had the salmon. It was complete mush. The included sides were in no way edible. I could not even swallow a bite. The atmosphere was fine, a bit too casual for what they seemed to be attempting, likely too close to the airport and pulling in travelers. Drive closer to the coast and get far better food and atmosphere.

I love this restaurant! I cannot say enough about this restaurant! I've eaten lunch here on many occasions! Their happy hour is amazing...such a great deal for the food, drinks, and ambiance. The chef has a well thought, current menu that is changed with the seasons and always fresh. The dinner menu is creative and filling, and evenings here whether busy or moderately busy the servers and service is phenomenal. I can't wait to try their Silver Oak Saturday deal! Also they have a new patio space that is gorgeous; I'm contemplating hosting an event there in the future because they have private spaces you can book in addition to their public dining room. :)

Just like many of the reviewers, I came to Andrei's during OCRW and the prie fix menu, but added an appetizer for kicks. Portobello steak fries: i've never had deep fried mushroom fries before, but now that I have, it'll forever be one of those things I crave for. It seems simple, and it probably is. I could probably make it at home. I never thought of breading mushrooms then deep frying them, because they're so delicious grilled, but when you're craving for something deep-fried, this is a perfect treat. Boar Chili with cornbread croutons: it's funny how some are complaining that there were literally only 2 pieces of croutons. I completely agree. Is cornbread that much more expensive or hard to make that they skimp on the serving? I want more of them croutons!! Oh yea, and the chili was good too. Not too salty, chunky and hearty, yet not heavy. Sea Bass with faro and Swiss chard: the sea bass was a bit disappointing. I knew it wasn't going to be Chilean sea bass, but I thought the taste and texture would be close. This one was more like tilapia. A bit ordinary. The star of this course was the faro with chopped beets. It had the creaminess of a risotto but more grainy. I loved it and could eat a bowl of it by itself. Carrot spiced cake: being a lover of carrot cake, I can't say Andrei's version is on my top 10. Where's the moistness? Where's the cream cheese frosting. When it comes to carrot cake, you shouldn't mess with the tradition. But if I think of this as a bar that has carrot in it, then I'd say it's pretty good. The best part was the pecan praline. Again, the side and accent ingredients seem to be better than the center. Is this a theme? So overall, I'm torn about the food. Some items are memorable, and some were a disappointment. On the food alone, I would rate Andrei's 3 stars. I added another star for service, and ambiance. When you walk in, the first thing you'll see is a beautiful rock wall with water cascading down. It's a great venue for special events.

This place was really good. We ordered a bunch of different items to try and most were reaaaallly good. I wasn't a huge fan of the lamb spring rolls and the grilled cheese avocado bites was a grilled cheese sandwich with avocado on it cut into pieces. So there wasn't much flavor than the yummy toasted sourdough butter bread, but that bread was delish! Service was OUTSTANDING. We had a younger guy as our waiter and he was a doll. And the guys doing water and drinks were very attentive. We sat out on the patio. It was absolutely lovely; they had fire things going. Then inside was beautiful too. I couldn't believe how not-packed it was for a Friday night! We loved it.

I'm a "meat and potatoes" type guy and was a concerned when I previewed the menu online before coming. The offerings are much different than what I typically see. I did find a new York Steak on the menu and that is what I ordered. There is a bar here so I started with beer. Some bread was brought to the table and it was good and fresh. The New York Steak was good and also ordered the chocolate crème brulee for dessert. The food was good, it was a good atmosphere and the service was good. I'm not sure what I will have next time but there are probably few options for me next time.

I have visited twice for cocktails and appetizers and service was good on both visits. I had to valet because I had no idea where to park. I sat upstairs due to a private party on the first floor. It is a lovely place, but was not really impressed by the food selection. The presentation of the dishes was outstanding. Everything looked too pretty to eat. The martinis like the lychee were strong and refreshing. The server didn't recommend any specials, so we chose what we thought we'd enjoy. For dessert, we split the creme brulee. The best part of my visit was the excellent coffee. It was the first time I had ever had french-press cofee. It was robust, aromatic, and bold. I wanted to love this place, but as I recall my portion of my tab was $75 each for a group of 3. At that price point, I should not have left hungry lol.

This restaurant is surrounded by hotels. You would think that catering to single female travelers would be second nature. Not so much. Not as bad as some but not as good as I would expect from this type of restaurant and certainly not as good as the single male diner next to me at the bar. Perhaps if I was dressed differently but why should a woman have to flaunt it to get service equal to any male? I wasn't completely ignored but didn't receive as quick service as the other male single diners Food? Three stars. And that's the only reason they received three.

I love coming to Andries! Great food and atmosphere! They've added an outside seating and love the music! I wish they were open later and had live music and dancing at least once a week. I think it would attract even more people!

I really like the ambience of this restaurant, but the food is a little overpriced. Alot of people use Andrei's for business lunches. I've only had the octopus salad ($14) as an entree here but it was very tasty. The first time I ordered it I was unimpressed, but the second time came out a lot more flavorful and I ate it all up. The cookie sandwich trio ($10) was just okay. Valet is free during lunch, $4 for dinner. Parking structure is behind the business buildings and you can get your ticket validated.

I went here with a large group of 30ish about 2 weeks ago. I enjoyed the food here. I ordered a special cocktail that was a little spicy, I liked that. We had apps passed around but I can't remember what they were. I ordered the soup of the day which was some sort of asparagus soup. It was really good! For an entree, I ordered the filet medium rare. It was a little overcooked but i think they just mixed up my order with the guy sitting 2 chairs down from me. The steak was thick and juicy and seasoned well. For dessert I ordered the chocolate cake. It was ok. I should've ordered the beignets but I didn't since I'm from New Orleans and knew there wouldn't be real beignets. They weren't but they were still good. More like mini churro balls! Overall, I had a pleasant dining experience and would go back again.

We went for a private party last night and the food, wine and service was amazing. Everything was locally sourced and fresh with so much flavor. The service was fantastic as well. They have a terrace patio with THE best ambiance. In addition to all this, they have a heart warming story for the basis for the resturant. I would definitely go back again.

The atmosphere was great and the food selection almost exotic. I enjoyed a filet with purple mashed Potato and Brussel sprouts. More adventurous waters could choose antelope and various uncommon sea foods. The service was impeccable.

If you haven't been to Andries, you definitely should. The decor is chic and modern with a gorgeous patio. Service was superb! The food was excellent! For starters, we had the best Pommes Frites (French Fries) in the world. We followed that with an amazing chop salad. For dinner we had the braised lamb shank and it was melt off the bone, in your mouth delicious. We also tried the fish special which was cooked perfectly. I love their champagne cocktails and they make a lovely Manhattan. Shannon took our reservation for our special occasion and made sure everything worked out as planned. Thank you again for an amazing dinner. We will definitely be back.

Good food, great ambience (perfect for a date night), but service was meh. Came here for a birthday dinner and enjoyed my chop salad, but it is a little on the pricey side. I paid $20 for a salad with tax. Thank god it was good or I would've been upset. All in all, would recommend this place if you're in the area or local.

Just came back from a yummy dinner with friends and had a great time! First, we had good drinks, I throughly enjoyed the Geisha Drop. Second, the scallops and risotto was superb! The presentation of the food was amazing. Also the sea bass was yummy. The reason why I didn't give a full 5 star is the poor valet service and the beignets had an odd taste. Overall great food, great waiter, coming back soon.

What we ordered: 1. Andrei's Chop Salad 2. Indian Chicken Flatbread 1. I won't deny that this salad was delicious. The candied walnuts, however, were a bit too sweet for me. They gave a big portion, which was nice, and the chicken in it was good. 2. It was crispy and the blend of everything was perfect. It was balanced and nothing overpowered anything. However, it was very oily, especially on the bottom, so it would get all over the hands. It's a nice portion, though. The chicken was fresh, but there wasn't a distinct curry flavor as it mentioned. The SERVICE and LOCATION: This is the reason I give this place 3 stars. We waited around 15 minutes just to order. Yes, we were sitting outside, but that shouldn't be an excuse to not come outside to check on tables. Along with that we also had to wait until someone walked outside just to get our check, which was another like 10 minutes. The location of this restaurant is confusing especially since its next to business buildings and a hotel. If you're going to put it there, at least make the restaurant sign nice and visible. The parking was nice because it's in a structure and you can get validated, but it's not even next to the restaurant...you have to walk through the buildings to get there. And not to mention, the front door isn't even visible.

This place has been on my list for ages, but I never made it around to visiting in the 5+ years that I lived in SoCal. Why? Mostly because it's hidden away in what looks like a gated community complex, and I also dislike paying for parking to visit a restaurant. LOCATION. Hard to get to, and, head's up - it's not on the bottom level, follow the set of stairs past the banquet hall. We walked past a wedding banquet, which was a little awkward to peer into. The restaurant itself is decked out, very OC plush. SERVICE. Friendly servers but hard to flag them down, as tables/bench combos are at all kinds of distances from the bar. Weird restaurant set-up, but I guess the privacy is nice. COCKTAILS. Huge selection (as you'd expect from the name), didn't run across anything mind-blowing, but their happy hour seems pretty chill. SPICED LAMB SPRING ROLLS. With feta, spinach, tomato confit, and a dill-cucumber yogurt. Honestly, I hate 'fusion' spring rolls, think it's a terrible idea, and a poor attempt to be 'trendy'. I wasn't blown away by these, not bad but not worth getting, in my opinion. CHICKEN WINGS w/CHIPOTLE BBQ SAUCE & BLUE CHEESE FONDUE. The place seems too trendy to eat messy wings, to be honest, very out of character. Not bad, again, but nothing special. If anything, if I was in the area (somehow), I wouldn't mind stopping by for a drink, but not on the top of my list of places to be.

We came here for dinner during OC restaurant week. Service was great, and so was the food. I had the Endive salad, the blue cheese was yummy and so was the dressing. Then the Short Rib with whipped potatoes, so yummy. The meat was so tender it just fell apart, no knife needed. I chose the carrot cake for dessert which was also great, I loved the piece of brittle that it came with. My friends got the Wild Boar chili, vegetable risotto, goat cheese cheesecake and dark chocolate creme brule. I didn't think the chili was anything special, my friend enjoyed her risotto, not something I would have ordered. All the desserts were great. I'm not a fan of dark chocolate but that creme brule was fantastic.

Giving this restaurant a second try.. My first attempt here I ordered the Sea Bass and it was very dry. Today two of us ordered the Andouille sausage and artichoke flatbread, NY steak, Lamb osso bucco tagine, & Goat-cheese cheesecake. Everything is just mediocre. I wouldn't recommend the lamb to those can't stand the smell of lamb, it is extremely strong (Indian style dish). Few mistakes my server forgot was our complimentary fresh breads, straws, & steak knife. Clean restaurant*** Friendly staff** Average service

Andrei's is a health conscious foodie's dream. Unfortunately, I'm not health conscious foodie cause I regularly do this thing called "exercise." It's where you go to this place called the "gym" and you sweat off all the toxins in your body so you could be eat more. I know. What a great concept? Anyway, Andrei serves decent tasting food and it's pretty pricey. It's the price you pay for being conscious about the food that you eat. I've been here multiple times for lunch, work gatherings and happy hour. They don't have good deals for happy hour and that's for sure. They have this lamb wrap that was really tasty and the lamb wasn't dry or gamey. However, everything else I've tried I thought was meh. Overall, Andrei's wouldn't be my first choice for a meal or happy hour. It's pricey and the food is okay.

Came here for a work event. The place itself was great; really enjoyed the upstairs bar and patio area. Drinks were priced decently and they weren't short on alcohol. Mostly had finger foods: flatbreads, sliders, shrimp. All were very tasty. They did have a chef cutting up prime rib which was very delicious. Would like to go back and have dinner there to check out their menu.

The worst dining experience I have EVER had thanks to our waiter!! I was actually afraid to engage with him for fear he might explode. After he greeted us It took him 30 minutes to come over and take our order. No apology for the wait. Didn't see him at all in restaurant. Wasn't like he was waiting on anyone else. Restaurant was fairly empty for a Saturday night. Description of dishes very incomplete. Didn't know there was Shrimp in my risotto. Good thing I'm not allergic!! If you asked for something he'd say "yes right away" and never bring it! The best way I can describe the experience it was like Basil Fawlty (Fawlty Towers)was our server. Forget the food. Who cares. No complimentary bread or steak knife ( don't ask the waiter. You'll upset him). Poor poor management.

I came to Andrei's for dinner during Irvine restaurant week. For appetizers, we had the endive salad and the seasonal soup, which was a cup of tomato with seabass. For entrees, we had the kurubota pork with a butternut squash puree and new york steak with a celery root mash. The pork came on the bone and had a nice sear and flavor. It was tastier than the steak. Lastly, for dessert, we ate the goat cheese cheesecake and dark chocolate creme brulee. The creme brûlée had a strong dark chocolate taste which was good and it came with a fresh strawberry on the side along with a cookie. The cheese cake had a nice savory taste to it probably due to the strong goat cheese and less sweet compote. The compote paired well with the goat cheese, but in the end, there wasn't enough of it. Overall, the food all tasted very good except maybe the soup because it had very little sea bass and mainly tasted like tomato. The service was good for the most part. Near the end, service seemed to slow down when we were looking for the check and we saw our server drinking wine near the bar. The meals seemed very light in the end and probably could have used with larger servings of the sides.

First time trying this place. I don't know if it's the good company, good food, or both, but I enjoyed this place. Started off with their Apple pie bourbon which is really good (except for the apple pieces, those were literally soaked in alcohol and it was too strong for me). Lamb spring rolls were good. Seemed more like egg rolls to me. I don't usually eat lamb, so to me I can definitely taste the difference in the meat. Pacific scallops were delicious. They were nicely cooked. Pieces melted in my mouth. Scallops were served on top of couscous and greens which were just ehh. NY steak was good as well, except the sides that were served with it were very small portions. For dessert, got their icecream sandwich flight (gingerbread snap, oatmeal, and chocolate). All were good, but the oatmeal sandwich was exceptionally good. It was my favorite. To those who aren't an oatmeal cookie fan, the oatmeal is very subtle. Chocolate cream brûlée was also good. Very rich chocolate without it seeming too heavy.

I've been to Andrei's a couple of times and every time I like the place more and more. There isn't a single thing on the menu that I didn't like, which is surprising, because I'm extremely picky. The decor is beautiful, the food is delicious. They have gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan menus, which makes me like this place even more. Excellent for a nice lunch or dinner.

Free valet at lunch. Delicious Mediterranean salad as an appetizer, enough f o r a meal, also shared the ceviche salad. You need to valet. So just valet, parking can be a challenge. Delightful but simple wine options. Very inviting lounge area. I am told, they are bringing back entertainment. I will enjoy that.

3.5 STARS! They recommend you make a reservation. However, we were there on a Friday night and there were a couple empty tables. Live music from 5:30-7:30pm. AMBIANCE: relaxing, good lighting and spacious. MENU: They have a few different menus 1) The actual one - which changes 4 times a year 2) The "specials" one - which changes weekly (that's what it seems like) 3) The vegetarian menu APPETIZERS: 1)Cheese and Charcuterie plate: 3 different cheese, 3 meats, salad and some nuts/dried berries. YUM 2) Pomme Frites: fries with truffle dipping sauce and "ketchup" like sauce. Not bad. 3) Crab cakes: 4 small pieces. Lots of crab flavors - but not as grand as some of the other places I've tried. 4) Cheese flat bread - this was actually pretty blah. We got this dish to share w/ some of our vegetarian friends - and they didn't even finish it off. MAIN COURSE: 1) Braised short ribs with mashed potatoes. Tender meat! Good sauce. 2) Taco salad (grilled shrimp, pineapple, lettuce, heirloom tomatoes). Kinda boring -imagined this to be more grand. 3) Gnocchi with tomato sauce and zucchini. The Gnocchi was different from your typical gnocchi. Tasted more "mashed" potato like. PRETTY GOOD. Light and nicely flavored. SERVICE: GREAT. He was attentive!!!! Some of party came late and he was at our table right away. Took their orders and made sure they got their food at a reasonable time. It's a good thing I read my friend's (Debby L.) yelp review prior to arriving at this restaurant. Found out there was SELF PARKING garage on the side (free; no attendant manning the gate). Valet parking is NOT mandatory. AND...the restaurant entrance is on the side! Thanks Debby L.

We went to Andrei's for business cocktails and appetizers with a customer and stayed for dinner. The cocktails and finger foods were affordably priced and very tasty. All our dinner dishes were wonderful and wait staff highly attentive. Will definitely come back again when we are in the area.

So my boyfriend and I came in here for their Valentine's Day special. The place its self is really nice and I enjoyed the decor and atmosphere. However, most everything else was less than excellent. Here's how our night played out: We got sat right away (good start) and our waitress came over and asked if we wanted water, which we did. A guy came around with waters and put two on our table.... Except my boyfriends water was Sprite. To be honest we thought it was funny and joked around with the waitress about it. It wasn't that big of deal. BUT THEN we ordered our first course. I got the seafood platter (which was pretty good) and my boyfriend got the watermelon salad. Right before he was about to take a bite he looked down and saw a CATERPILLAR squirming around in his salad. Are you joking???? A CATERPILLAR! We waited for about 7 minutes and couldn't find our waitress anywhere so I got the attention of another waiter and he was very apologetic and brought another seafood platter right away. We weren't even really that upset because we were enjoying each other's company and we are pretty laid back people and understand that things happen sometimes. BUT THEN we ordered our main course. I got the scallops (which were very good and the ONLY reason I'm not leaving one star) and he got the surf and turf and ordered his steak to be cooked medium. The food came out and his steak was cook well done. Again, he didn't care too much and ate it anyway. But then he went to take a bite of the shrimp and it was cold in the middle. Our waitress wasn't around enough for us to say anything to get his Main dish fixed so he ate the steak and just left the shrimp. After all that mess, we told the waitress about everything (sprite instead of water, the CATERPILLAR!, the over cooked steak, the under cooked shrimp, THE. CATERPILLAR!) and not once did a manager come out to check on us. There was no manager and there was nothing even taken off the bill. I'm not one for trying to get things taken off my bill but when you're paying over $200 for a meal and when there is a live creature in your salad and everything else went wrong too, someone has to step up and do something about. Needless to say we will not ever be coming back here, which is a shame because they have real potential.

Having been unhappy the first time around, we decided to go back anyway; this time the experience was much more satisfactory. The Happy Hour is lively and the prices are very reasonable; the small plates and the specials are quite sufficient. The chicken kebabs were great as well as the lamb rolls. Service was quick and this time the salad did come with the dressing on the side. A good value if you arrive before 7.

By far, the most spacious and comfortable booths in all of Orange County. Unfortunately, the flavors don't reach as far and wide as the benches. This place has a touching story behind it which you can read on their site and I was totally looking forward to falling in love with Andrei's. Yet, as good as the place looked, there was nothing for me to sink my teeth into that was memorable and worth the price. The grilled steak wrap was tasty, but the chopped salad was just a mosh-up of everything you feel should go well together but, in the end, really doesn't. And even though both of these would have been satisfying at about half the price, for what we paid, I needed a "wow" factor which never came.

Disappointment is just the action of your brain readjusting itself to reality after discovering things are not the way you thought they were -- Brad Warner Sidney Updates Two Reviews Down To Three Stars Part I And so we go with Andrei's descending from 5 stars, to four stars, down to three stars. The restaurant is like a lover who previously excited you just by touching their hand and now a long, lingering kiss leaves you bored. I was anticipating Andrei's when they first opened and at the beginning they delivered with farm to table dishes, a good wine list and excellent service. A locally owned innovative place was sorely needed in Irvine. However, over the last two years the food slipped some, service was inconsistent and I dropped them a star to 4. Now in reflecting on my last couple of visits; the food is now inconsistent (including a piece of fish so mushy that it looked like a fish like substance instead of a filet of halibut) as well and I am no longer a fan. In fact I will refrain from visiting Andrei's, when they were such a part of my regular dining rotation, until further notice or until I hear they are on the upswing again. And it really is too bad because there are such nice people administrating this restaurant. The Chef came out at one of my last visits and I was chastised by my dining companion at why didn't I tell the chef about the lackluster fish or steak over-seasoned to death with pepper? My friend was right and I did not have a very satisfactory answer. American politeness maybe? I should have been more honest though. Andrei's has lost its way. I hope it is not too late to find its way back.

Came here late one evening with my girlfriend. Service was excellent and the food was good. The ambience was also quite intimate, which was a plus. But it was deserted for such an upscale restaurant right off the mainways of Irvine.

Irvine/Newport Beach are teeming with fancy restaurants. That's a sigh for competition and innovation: good for eaters like me. I got the kabobs. They are very small portions, snack sized. The Martini is excellent.

This place is one of my favorite! Amazing food, very nice team and now im told that some percentage of all sales go to the charity. Good food for a good cause? Yes please! They try to use organic produce, and grow some of vegitables them selves. Their Mahi Mahi is the best I ever had, no kidding!

Complimentary valet parking?! Nice. Well played. Giant waterfall at the entrance?! Very chic. A great group of Yelpers to spend a Wednesday night with?! Priceless. I had the pleasure of playing boardgames with an amazingly spry group of Yelpers last night at Andrei's. I've been wanting to come check out their food for awhile now, so Yelp Drinks week gave me an excellent reason to go. Our server Brent was awesome! Blueberry Press: Blueberry vodka, crushed blueberries, soda, (& agave nectar?) I liked it but I enjoy my regular vodka presses much more because they aren't annoyingly sweet. Would I order it again? Perhaps without the agave altogether, if it was indeed in there. Spanish Steps: Malbec Wine, Cranberry Juice, Raspberries, Blackberries, Agave nectar. I liked this and man it was strong, but maybe because I had just consumed the blueberry press and had very little food to soak it up with. Chicken kabobs: chicken breast meat grilled with pesto and tzatziki dipping sauces on the side. This is one of their happy hour 6 for $6 plates. Very tender chicken and I loved the sauces. I also tried the pomme frites, which were just French fries, risotto balls, hummus and babaganoush, and dinner rolls. Not bad at all. I was eying the pork ribs, but didn't get to taste them. It was great to meet with new Yelpers and old ones that I hadn't met yet, which is why I come to these events. It's usually a fun time had by all. What? 50% off food on Mondays? Wait, last night was Wednesday. I must return.

Was part of party of 50 for happy hour and the new GM, Shannon Jones, rocked it! We had amazing service (even though the bartenders were somewhat surly) and as always, the drinks and food were incredible. The Grilled Tomato and Cheese was not what I was expecting. It seemed like more of a toasted tomato sandwich and I had difficulties finding the cheese :( The Mediterranean Duo and the Barbecue Chicken Flatbread was done to perfection! My favorite cocktail (since they took their Napa Crush off the menu) has been their Geisha Drop (think lychee martini). I guess I keep coming back for the decor, style, and nostalgia (it reminds me of upscale Hawai'ian joints).

Came here for a conference and it's a unique place to have dinner. It was a big place to accomodate a lot of people. The food was nice. The food was served buffet style and probably not a good idea if it's got a huge amount of people available. There were some unfortunate technical issues, but otherwise the staff was nice. The drinks were flowing. I'm not certain about coming here with a date but perhaps happy hour might be better. Parking isn't easy so valet is the better option to go.

Came here for happy hour with a few friends (group of 6). Their food is awesome and reasonably priced during happy hour at least. We had the chicken kebabs and Mediterranean sampler (hummus, yogurt and egg plant dip. To sweeten things up we went for their ice cream sample which was also fantastic. The downfall was our service. It took 20 minutes to get 3 beers (literally) and the restaurant wasn't even that busy. Our server would go missing for 20 minutes at a time and it came to a point where we had to go looking for him. My assumption is that the server felt like those who are there for happy hour aren't priority customers, a fatal move by my standards. We happened to be there during happy hour so thought we'd take advantage of it. If you are not going to provide good service to me when I'm spending $30 /person - what makes you think I will come back and spend $60 /person? The hostess was friendly and was able to help us locate our server when she was passing by - plus points for that!

It makes me sad not to give this place a higher rating & review. This is probably one of the biggest restaurant disappointments I've ever experienced. I really wanted to love this place. This place was created from a tragic event. It was opened as a tribute to a lost son/brother which is truly a beautiful thing. I gave this place as several of my friends many a chance to see if things would improve. The food lacks major flavor. It's pretty bland attached with fancy names. And the food takes FOREVER to reach you. This is not 5 star made food k. Shouldn't take that long. The 1 food that seems the tastiest is their 1 burger that I can't seem to recall. Yeah, it was THAT good. They do obtain their supplies from local farms so they get props for that. The service...holy smokin sheeit. It's non existent. Everyone is nice but nice doesn't make the service. They'll drop your drinks off and disappear. They'll drop your food off and disappear. They just don't come around and touch the tables and every time I've been here, it's been 90% empty. So service should not be lacking. We haven't been here just for drinks which seems to grab the higher reviews but as a restaurant, the food and service is pretty important. The ambiance is probably one of the nicer things I can say about this place. Sadly, it feels like the owners abandoned this place for the vultures to peck at and the hyenas to loll around in. Conscious? They tried but this place needs a pulse to even have one.

We are very picky diners. Love finding wholesome, nutritious and local organic produce and meals outside our home - not an easy task. This place has it all. Beautiful ambiance, attentive service and lovingly prepared delicious food. The menu is innovative and is based on seasonal local finds. Fresh flavors! Our server brought the chef out to meet us just because we said it was our first visit. Wow! Can't say enough - it's our new favorite restaurant.

Okay. Because I was sooooo disappointed the last time, the manager offered me a 50.00 certificate. Last night I used the certificate to give it another chance. First, it was great the manager acknowledged my disappointment. Second , I'm glad I gave it another chance. The warm octopus salad was great and the mushroom fries were super yummy! Decided it was only fair I offer a new and updated review

My absolute favorite restaurant in Orange County. There's something to say about a restaurant that gives back their profits for guide dogs for the blind, foundation fighting blindness, and CHOC, in addition to a number of other local causes. They source all their produce locally and support local farms. I absolutely love that! Not only is their food delicious but the service is top notch. My favorite items on the menu are the Chefs Chop Salad with shrimp. The steak wrap with the truffle fries. The lamb burger and the braised short rib. Go in for lunch, the service is quickest at the bar. Lovell the bartender is lovely and will take excellent care of you. Be sure to make reservations for lunch because they fill up with large party's and the food can tend to take awhile but it is so worth the wait. We had Shin and Adam wait on us and everyone in our party couldn't be happier. Jennifer is the lady who takes care of all the banquet functions and she did a wonderful job with our Holiday Party. And not to forget the General Manger Shannon Jones is such a pleasure to do business with. She always comes over to say Hi to us and makes us feel like family. Delicious innovative food. Stellar service. Fun fresh cocktails. My favorite restaurant in Orange County.

Food is quite tasty here! Only been here once for HH.. but fell in love with the Portabello Mushroom Steak Fries!! If you like mushrooms, you'll love this! These steak fries are big chunks of Portabello Mushrooms, battered and deep fried, looking like huge fries. We also had the fish tacos (yumm) and the Beef Kabobs -- both of which were really good. They walked around serving samples of sangria, which I thought was really cool. Wish I got to try some, but we're expecting =P Guess that means I'll have to come back next time!

Andrei's made my list of top 5 fave sit-down restaurants in the OC area! Cocktails are quality, with just the right amount of alcohol. Tried the bass and short rib. Fresh, tasty, and "conscious"...I'd say the food is more Californian style, not classic American if that matters to anyone. Service is super friendly and attentive. Great happy hour and wkly specials. It's also a non-profit! Love everything about this place!

This is my second time visiting Andrei's and I have been very impressed both times! Last week I ate lunch with a coworker and ordered the mediterranean platter for lunch...so good! It had pita, hummus, dolmas, beef kebabs, quinoa etc. and was the perfect lunch. The atmosphere is open and I love when they open the windows to let the beautiful CA weather in. The service was just ok...had to track her down to get refills and pay for the check.

I wanted to love this place. I like what it stands for. I like the loungy atmosphere with the big open windows with the refreshing breeze. They did everything to try to make you believe you're not at a hotel in Irvine. I spent a little bit of time at the bar- good service, good drink options and a happy hour. Later, we sat down to eat. I had the lentil soup, which I thought was fantastic. It came with warm rolls, which is always welcomed! I opted for the filet mignon, which I probably shouldn't have. The fish dish looked amazing and I was envious after I got mine. Part of the reason is that I felt mine was a bit overcooked, a bit tough, and just didn't have a taste that wowed me! To me, a filet is a dish that should melt in your mouth and make you want to come back for me. I wouldn't order it again. This place is more like a 3.5 star place but there wasn't enough to make me round it up.

I came here for restaurant week. It is a nice restaurant with tasteful decor. The food was decent and the wine was pretty good. I had the caesar salad, pan seared mahi mahi and the vanilla bean creme brulee. The caesar had a good amount of dressing and the crispy parmesan was so delicious. The mahi mahi was alright. The fish was made well but lacked a bit of flavor. The creme brulee was so good; it was sweet but not too sweet and it was a good ending to the meal. The food was above average but restaurant was kinda quiet and boring. Our waiter didn't have a ton of tables but he wasn't that attentive and he messed up on the bill. He added in an extra bottle of wine and 3 or 4 random drinks we didn't order. When we pointed it out to him he just fixed it and that was it. I felt that he should've offered us something for his mistake. Oh well. I might try this place again but not anytime soon

One of the best New York Strip steaks I've had in a while. Been looking for a place like this for some time. Nice atmosphere, but there is a bar right in the middle of the place, so if your looking for a quiet dinner, it can get a bit noisy. Other then that, this place is tops.

In honor of my husband's birthday, I made dinner reservations at Andrei's Conscious Cuisine & Cocktails for 8:15 last night. We arrived right on time and our pleasant hostess escorted us to a cushy booth that could have easily fit a party of six and felt extra-large to our modest party of two. David E. and I knew we were in for an amazing dining experience from the moment we encountered the cascading waterfall inside the main entryway along with the majestic wood fish sculpture at the top of the staircase. The restaurant's layout and decor are visually stunning. We kicked off the hubby's birthday celebration with a basket of warm French bread sticks with butter and Zucchini Flowers. Fried vessels for ricotta cheese, sundried tomato, basil, roasted garlic, and served on a bed of shaved green asparagus salad, the Zucchini Flowers was an excellent starter with its blend of simple, earthy flavors. I would have been perfectly content had that been my entire meal. It was my first time eating raw asparagus and I couldn't get enough of the refreshing and crunchy vegetable - it was so tasty! The plating of the tomato sauce - delicate droplets around the outside of the plate lined up in a row - was understated yet beautiful. On the entree front, my husband ordered the Halibut, his favorite fish. I felt torn between ordering the Pacific Ono (the Special that night) and the Wild Salmon; I even asked our server what he recommended before I finally settled on the Salmon. With its slightly dry, flaky texture and mild flavor, the Salmon failed to dazzle me - I could barely taste the lime and ginger. The mango relish topping provided only a hint of sweetness to an overall bland Salmon. On the other hand, the Saffron & Shrimp Risotto tasted sensational - hearty, well-seasoned and chock full of shrimp - I enjoyed every bite! I would have happily traded the Salmon for a plate full of that creamy goodness. By the way, my husband said the Halibut was "amazing" and hands down the "best Halibut I've ever had." Moral of the Story: Skip the Salmon and go for the Gold, I mean, Halibut. Overall, I was pleased with our fine dining experience at Andrei's. From the artistic presentation of the food to the sophisticated decor, Andrei's is definitely a high-quality, upscale restaurant, the type that my husband and I normally reserve only for special occasions. Creative, organic Mediterranean menu. Locally sourced, sustainable fare. Moderately expensive. Attentive service. Breathtaking layout and design. Conscious Cuisine. Conscious Consumers.

Love the space, spacious, relaxing. The food was good, service was top notch, wine list good, I liked this place. Despite its very "conscious" sounding name, I warmed up to the idea that their consciousness has really to do with sourcing naturally raised meats and sustainable seafood. Nomenclature is key to me and they are now forgiven ;-) Conscious it is. Valet was a convenient $3, worth it because we all know how hard it is to make dinner rushing after a long day. The crowd was an odd mix of businessmen in suits (due to its Irvine business location), couples, and odd and ends like me on a girls night out. I'd highly recommend.

I've been coming to Andrei's for a few years now, but this is the first time I've ever reviewed this establishment. In the past, I would have given them a 4 star. I could never justify a 5 star because of how slow the service is here. Set aside at least 2 hours for lunch. We arrived at 1:15 p.m. (when everyone was leaving), but left at 3:15 p.m. I could never understand why it took so long especially at that time. But I've always, always enjoyed the food here. My favorite is the Octopus salad. The octopus is always extremely tender, the light vinaigrette dressing goes so well with this dish, and the chorizo and fingerling potatoes are just an added bonus. You could eat this as an entree. The cheese and charcuterie is also a favorite. The cheese offerings are always on point. This time around I added the portobello steak fries as well as the mediterranean tasting. Everyone absolutely loved all fo the small plates. Unfortunately my entree, the Proscuitto & Burrata Flatbread was extremely, exTREMEly salty. I love salt. I normally add salt to most dishes. But this dish was unpalatable. Everyone in the group tried and could literally tolerate one bite, followed by a glass of water. It was THAT salty. Proscuitto is salty in itself, it tasted as salt was sprinkled to coat the rest of the dish. Two of the girls ordered the Cheeseburger and another ordered the Vegan burger. They all thought it was good, but not really worth recommeding. The desserts we ordered to go was the Salted Caramel Creme Brulee and the Beignets. I don't know if that is the way it's served tableside, but the creme brulee, the carmalized sugar side was on the bottom and the custard on the top. The chocolate cooke was served on the side. Just a little unusual. The beignets, although still warm was so oily. The oil basically seeped into your mouth as you took a bite...not a very nice experience. I tried the caramel on the side and that was pretty good. Overall, I'd come back and make a meal out of their small plates, but do so when I'm not busy or in a rush to get anywhere.

Valet parking is complimentary during lunch, tip the guy don't be stingy. I walk up a staircase to be greeted by 2 ladies as their hostesses. I sit at the bar area, everyone else wants a table. Probably due to all the business execs types talking about there work and job ideals. Blazers and dresses. Older crowd perhaps on a happy hour more young business types roll in. Anyways, I order two appetizers the bison sliders and sausage dipping combo. Very well cooked very well served, and excellent presentation. My server was a young man named Andy, if I'm not mistaken. Good guy. I'll definitely comeback but during a happy hour. I'm more of the the mid 20s so I find that suitable for myself. I recommend this place.

Received tons of attention from the staff even though I was here solo. I only looked at the happy hour menu so I cannot really speak to the overall menu; but the buffalo sliders and veggie chips were pretty good. Nice decor. But the staff was the highlight. I guess the food keeps me from five stars. It wasn't anything spectacular. But it was good.

Update is probably overdue. I won't say I frequent this place as much as I used to, but the handful of times I've been in since my last review I will say things have gotten more predictably good. We almost exclusively sit at the bar. One of the regular bartenders is mostly attentive and happy to make recommendations or take specialty drink orders. The food seems to be more consistent as well. I would recommend going here if you haven't been. The dinner menu can be a pricey, but filling up on small plates is easy and affordable as is Happy Hour if you don't mind a crowd. The octopus salad (though not really a salad) is one of my favorite things to eat and the Chilean Spice cocktail is my favorite libation. Yum!

I've heard a lot about Andrei's over the past year and their story is amazing. With that said i decided to try it. The service was friendly. It took a bit to get our food. Lets see what we got: Wild Boar Chili- Ground wild boar, root vegetables, kidney beans, corn, bell pepper and chili served with corn bread croutons. I truly thought this was one of the best chili's i have ever tasted. The corn bread croutons were delicious as well. Highly recommended. Pacific Mahi Mahi- Sun dried tomato and corn risotto, wilted spinach, Meyer lemon vinaigrette and micro celery. The fish was good, not great, but the risotto wasn't that good. French Macarons- Peanut butter and jelly and chocolate. These guys were very unique and very delicious. There were some positives and negatives at Andrei's, but we will be back again in the future. ***** (5 Stars)- Amazing, zero flaws, a must go! (Not given often) **** (4 Stars)- Memorable, strongly feel you should visit *** (3 Stars)- Above average, worth a visit ** (2 Stars)- Average, some pro's and some con's * (1 Star)- Opinion is do not go, below average

Great happy hour options! A flight of wine for $8 and delicious quality food. It's a nice alternative to a typical bar. Amazing service. Our waitress really took the time to suggest us the best wines to choose from. Pretty fancy place (the type of place where they place the napkin in your lap for you). Parking is located in the structure behind the building. Don't worry. There's free parking validation. Glad to know there's good happy hour nearby.

I brought 12 colleagues and prospect customers here during a conference and could not have been more pleased with the experience. Our server was incredibly kind, personable, and as odd as it may be to say, well timed in her asks for orders, beverage refills, etc... the food was also phenomenal! So many options and vibrant flavors! It was the perfect location to bring a group for a casual, yet business appropriate dinner. We had a great time, thank you!

Jennifer was incredible to work with. We emailed several times and had various phone calls, which I'm sure were overbearing, but Jennifer never made a big deal out of it.She always was very thorough in her responses and was always able to calm me down and ensure me everything would work out perfectly. Which it did! Andrei's did a fantastic job of working within our budget and organizing everything. I was under the false impression that the wedding party would need to go set everything up (table numbers, escort cards, cake stand, etc.), but Jennifer and her amazing team handled everything absolutely perfectly. The food was incredible too, our guests were all discussing how their food was actually really good, unlike most wedding food. :) Andrei's team even had some of our tray passed h'ordeuvres plated and waiting for my husband and I when we got to our table. This was huge because we were starving! It was so nice knowing they literally thought of everything. Andrei's exceeded my expectations in every way and made it so I didn't have to lift a finder, which is huge for me (a Type A, list making, down to the last detail bride). I'm so thankful for everything the entire staff did for us.

Excellent service, great food, and gorgeous, sensual ambiance. Valet the car (easy $3-zy) and take the elevator service up to the second floor. It opens up to a large central bar area and a plush lounge. Expansive bar menu with imaginative cocktails, premium wine list, and dozens of great beers. They could use more premium 18-25 year old scotch selections but you can survive on a bourbon or blend just for tonight. The bar area is so comfortable that you may be tempted to stay just for martini's and apps the rest of the night (Hmmmm, not a bad idea!) But, you don't want to miss all the great entrees, so move onward. The restaurant area is just yonder and is spacious and voluminous with high ceilings and large tables covered in white tablecloths. The food is unusually thoughtful and well-sorted. Bring a date for a late night romantic supper and rendezvous at the nice hotel next door... OR, bring the entire family and share your plates. They wont give you the bum's rush like lesser joints. They are proponents of the "slow food" movement and they encourage you to enjoy every bite of their artistry. You can stay all night and sample everything on the menu! I want to try everything on the menu. I will be back for sure... and I'm bringing my family and my crew. Great meal, great drinks, great service, a great big restaurant built around a great big bar! Great times!

Went here for a scheduled business dinner. Always wanted to try this place out and finally got a chance! I was not impressed at all to say the least. It might have been from the sheer quantity of food they had to prepare but it was not good. I had the beef short ribs, along with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes tasted worse than instant mashed potatoes you can buy at a shop and lacked flavor. The beef was old, lacked sauce, and definitely was not cooked the right amount of time. Service was good though and quick. Highly disappointed and probably wont be coming here again.

Orange Restaurant Week, boyfriend and I went here - but funny thing is I didn't even order anything from the restaurant week menu - instead we both opted for something else. To start with I was impressed how big this place was - I've passed by this restaurant many times - never really thought of trying it till my boyfriend suggested it. From the entrance of the restaurant, there is this cool wall fountain with watering coming down - like a waterfall but it's more of sliding off the walls - for the actual restaurant you have to go up a flight of stairs. Then you're greeted by the host and the first thing you walk pass is the island bar...centered right in the middle of the restaurant and then there are lounge furniture and tables off to one side and the rest of the place are tables. We were seated at a two person table and our chairs were nice cause it was covered by a black cloth - fancy....but I noticed it was only our chairs, the others were bare. It was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday night...I was expecting it to be slow but there was a good amount of people in their business causal wear - I assume they go there after work since the restaurant is located where there's a lot of corporate buildings. After looking at the menu, I decided to get the Steelhead Trout - it was amazingly flaky and I really love the Moroccan spice that they used. It went really well with the perfectly grilled trout. The Cilantro-Risotto that accompanied the dish was on the other hand a little disappointing. They overload it with asparagus and cilantro and I didn't like the taste or texture of that Risotto. I also started with a Mushroom and Truffle soup - ehhh not what I expected - didn't taste much of the truffle oil - I would pass on this one - wasn't worth the $8. My boyfriend started with their California Field Greens - the dressing was overwhelmingly citrus-y and it was really not worth $9 - especially considering it's portions. For entree he tried their Antelope Shank - the texture and taste was a cross between lamb and beef - it was like as if a cow and lamb gave birth - this is what their offspring would taste like...it wasn't super gamy like lamb and it wasn't super tender like marbleized steak - so it's really in between those two. Best way that I could describe it. The flavor was a bit lacking too..and the vegetables that accompanied the meat was very bland too. Overall, other than the perfectly grilled Trout, the really super nice waiter service and the pretty nice design of the restaurant - I wasn't really impressed. As a matter of fact I think it was a tad overpriced.

Andrei's is a beautiful, classy restaurant. I experienced many happy hours, a few dinners and last month was married here. For couples that are looking for good food, a nice contemporary venue and affordable prices - take the time to check-out Andrei's. I am really glad we did - it was the right choice! A special thanks to the events team for all of their hard work and patience with this bride :) I really enjoy their creative menu (and that it changes regularly). We will definitely be back in the future to enjoy more happy hours and dinners.

Located right on the corner of Main and Jamboree, I've always passed by Andreis but didn't venture inside until last week for yet another happy hour date with Van D. When you turn into Andreis, you can either get valet parking or the free parking in the structure which is what we did. Walking into the restaurant, I loved the big waterfall on the wall across the door! You have to walk upstairs for the actual restaurant. I loved the space and decor! They have a nice bar and lots of high tables by the bar area. But we chose to sit at an actual table since we wanted to enjoy dinner as well. Our waiter was very friendly and gave lots of recommendations, particularly with drinks haha. So for our drinks... I enjoyed my mojito and they also have the option to add a little fruit into them which I think I'll try next time. Took a sip of Van D's Geisha Drop and it was very tasty and very fruity made out of passionfruit puree and lychee vodka although I mainly tasted the passionfruit and vodka haha. We both got a Chilean Spice since our waiter recommended them if we wanted something with a little kick. It was definitely interesting as it was a tasty cocktail with a spicy aftertaste... I personally don't think I would get this again but you may love it if you enjoy spicy! And a few notes on the food we tried: - Crab Cakes, a must have! AMAZING - BBQ Chicken Flatbread, very good and delicious. If you enjoy CPK's BBQ chicken pizza, you will love this! - Spinach Salad: excellent and very fresh. Quality pieces of thick chunks of bacon, spinach, and hard boiled egg... YUM - Andrei's Sliders (One beef short rib and one crab cake): Van D's entree so I personally only tasted the homemade vegetable chips that came on the side which I loved! She enjoyed the crab cake slider a lot and said it was just as good as the crab cake appetizer we had shared. The beef short rib slider not so much. Perfect for a special night out :) Awesome Happy Hour! Monday - Friday 3-7PM & Saturday 5-7PM, $6 small plates and $7 cocktails

The restaurant is beautiful, and easily accessible. Very pleasant patio with plenty of shade. Easy to park or valet. Our server was impeccable. I wish I could say the same for the food. Portobello fries were very salty, and served with what I think was tartar sauce (?). The curry chicken salad sandwich was terrible. Heavy on the dressing, little to no chicken, and two of my bites were so fatty, I had to "remove" from my mouth. It was overpowered by grapes, so it was way too sweet. Table mate had veggie wrap with quinoa, and it was far better. Good luck!

I love the environment, it is very classy and modern. The food is amazing and unique. We were very happy with everything we ordered. And the happy hour is such a great deal!! Our server Adam was the best- he kept checking on us and is very friendly. Adam was very knowledgeable about their menu and recommended delicious drinks. We will definitely be returning to Andrei's!

Finally, a restaurant for a conscious diner. I've been trying to check this place out for a while. I keep putting it off, because I kind of pre-judge the place to be just okay. The restaurant is located right across the street from a couple hotels, so I simply associate bad food with hotel food. However, this place has a really good happy hour. My wife, sister, and I were on our way to the gym, but decided to make a detour because we were hungry. Next thing you know, we ordered 4 cocktails, 5 appetizers, and never made it to the gym. The wifey really like the portobello mushroom fries; corn meal battered slices of portobello mushrooms served with two types of dipping sauces. My sister-in-law raved about the Geisha Drop - a lychee infused cocktail. The menu changes frequently to keep things exciting. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. The only downside is the valet parking. There are self-parking options, but it's a good 10 minute walk from the restaurant. My street creds: I first got into cooking & food when I was in college. After being rejected by numerous girls and getting zero action, I decided it was time for a change. I needed a new makeover to boost my geeky image. I applied for a cooking position at a Mediterranean-Italian Restaurant near my home and learned to cook all sorts of dishes. I never became a professional chef, but I continue to enjoy & love food. 9 years later and 55 lbs heavier, I have a new passion for traveling and trying different foods around the world.

Seems like a high end business lunch/dinner place, but it was a fabulous date night for me and the hubs. Service was slow but frankly, it was nice to slow dooooown. I could say the food was slightly under seasoned, but that was fine for me. Hubs prefers a more generous hand. I love the wines and liquors offered. The specialty cocktails were spot on! Didn't have to ask to upgrade.

Ate here on a weeknight. Not busy. Great service. Awesome portabello mushroom frittes. All our food was good but not terribly memorable. Two of us had trout and one had pork chop. Price was as expected given the atmosphere, size, and location. We were hoping for a better "foodie" experience.

Great dinner with great service and non-profit to boot. The sea bass was delicious. Make a ire you ask for the bread basket. The breads and the cheese crackers are delicious. Our waiter Scott was friendly and just the right kind of attentive. The ice cream sandwich tasting was a great finish with a cafe mocha.

Many years ago I used to work in the building behind Andrei's, way before they started building this restaurant. Little that we knew, a boring Irvine parking became such a beautiful place. I have been there twice: Once during last December for an event, and everything was really nice, buffet, decoration, and service yelp.com/biz_photos/LKod… yelp.com/biz_photos/LKod… and this year went there for dinner and it was quite nice as well. I know what they say, that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, yelp.com/biz_photos/LKod… but Andrei's ambiance makes their food taste better. What did we have? - Cheese plate: it was good, not great, and our server didn't explain what kinds of cheese were we eating yelp.com/biz_photos/LKod… - Crab cakes: they were supposed to be good, but I could barely taste them, too spicy for me and I didn't feel like visiting Kaiser that night :( yelp.com/biz_photos/LKod… - Flat bread: delicious! I'd say that it was my fav dish of the night yelp.com/biz_photos/LKod… - Vegetable Arancini Fried Risotto balls with veggies and cheese, Served with Sun-Dried Tomato Sauce. Pretty tasty and the texture combinations make it even better. yelp.com/biz_photos/LKod… - Grilled Tomato & Cheese: Parmesan-Crusted Brioche, toasted tomato, feta cheese, and grinded black olive. Very mediterranean! I loved it with wine :) yelp.com/biz_photos/LKod… Definitely a place to go, to impress a girl, or just to hang after work, their happy hour is pretty cool! yelp.com/biz_photos/LKod… FYI : They have great specials, seems like Monday and Wednesday are their best days. Mondays and Tuesdays they have free corkage. I'm definitely going back. Recommended!

This place was phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal. I am not a huge fan of beef but the filet mignon was absolutely amazing. Soft, tender, juicy, holy moly it was great. I also ordered the Mediterranean platter. It wasn't anything special and the tobuleh had raisins which is not my favorite but was still good. The beignets were great for dessert. The whip cream like substance was scrumptious. It is hard to get healthy food cooked well and we were a group of 12. Every single person enjoyed there meal, definitely would recommend.

All organic, i love it! Food was good and fresh; however, not outstanding. I was hoping they would carry a more extensive menu. Service and modern decor was a huge plus! The restaurant was far more beautiful in person than in pictures. Our waiter was great, he told us about the night's specials, checked up on us often, and even told us the story behind the name of the restaurant. His wine recommendation was also spectacular. Towards the end, the manager came out and checked in on each table, which i find outstanding. We had the steak and trout. They informed us that if ingredients weren't fresh, they wouldn't serve it. Trout tasted extremely fresh, flavor was ok. Steak was good but a bit overcooked for medium rare. Loved their goat cheese cheesecake though! Delicious and milky. The restaurant itself wasn't busy on that Friday night, but there is a private section where a large party gathered. At first, they were a bit loud, but as they get their drinks on, it got so noisy that i was literally screaming at my friend sitting across the table. The table next to us were shaking their heads at the noise. I would highly recommend for the restaurant to seat guests further away from that area since the huge restaurant was half empty. Prices were ok, about $100 for two entrées, a glass of wine, and dessert. I'll definitely be back for happy hour, and next time, if i notice a large party going on in that private corner, I'll be sure to request a table at the other end of the restaurant. Valet parking.

Came here for a work dinner... 22, of us which can mean a challenge, but there were only four other tables with customers. So the terrible service seemed odd. The waiter kept disappearing and could only seem to get four drink orders at once... Take four, get them in, serve them. Next four... Etc. His explanation about not giving us the specials is that it is to hard to do with a large group. Completely frazzled guy. I ordered the scallops and asked for a Caesar salad. The salads arrived thirty minutes later and was covered in grapefruit, which I ate thinking it was a tomato. I can't eat grapefruit, spit it out and at bill time had to ask for the charge to be removed. The entrees started to arrive over an hour after our orders were placed. All of the steaks we ordered were cooked to a different doneness than ordered... My guess is he mixed them up? My three scallops, yes three size 20? Scallops. They were undercooked and cold. Really disappointing from start to finish.

Went back here and the service is VERY MUCH improved since the last time I was there. Our waitress was quick and attentive and we had no issues with anything with our orders. The short rib was delicious and cooked perfectly. The drinks on the happy hour menu were quite good. We had the lychee martini and the spicy one (I forget the name of it) but they were definitely well made and different than the typical drinks we tend to order. They have a happy hour on Saturday's as well as during the week so that was nice to save a few dollars on the drinks on a Sat night. Free parking in the garage is a short walk away.

IT PAYS TO KNOW PEOPLE IN HIGH PLACES.... In this case, the person in my networking group who made the res happens to know Chef Fournier. She also frequents this place often so she knows the menu quite well as well. I am so ignorant I didn't even know this place existed. However, now that I actually live and work in OC, I will be sure to return shortly. I ordered the garbanzo bean soup with basil and thyme to start. For my entree, I had the grilled octopus salad. The salad comes with roasted potatoes, sauteed red and yellow peppers and chorizo (both pictured). My lunch companions ordered the kabobs, fries, flatbread and panini (which also comes with a salad). The soup was excellent and I thought it was a good deal at $6. The garbanzo beans were firm and the broth was very tasty. The thyme and basil added a nice, fresh touch to the broth. The octopus salad was outstanding. The octopus was tender and had a nice seasoning on it. A combo of octopus, potato, pepper and chorozo on my fork was nothing short of a FOODGASM! I also thought it was a large portion for $14. I WAS STUFFED! NOW, HERE IS WHERE KNOWING THE CHEF PAID OFF. Chef Fournier stopped by to check on us after the meal. He let us know about the crepes they served. Then he came up with a great idea - He offered to give us a banana and nutella crepe (pic) - On the House - BRILLIANT!!! I can see myself coming back here for a business lunch or for HH. They have good looking sliders and four types of kabobs that are reasonably priced and small enough for a snack. I also heard that the name of the restaurant is in honor of the chef's son. He suffers from some affliction and the menu is all about freshness and organic ingredients. NOW THAT'S COOL!

Ambiance was amazing! They did a phenomenal job of the buildout! Walking into an establishment like this is a great start to a meal! The food was great! You can tell that the chef did pay attention to detail. Definitely recommend giving it a try if you haven't already.

Fancy Schmancy food! Outstanding service however, Sam was great and rather funny too! I did not have anything spectacular. A nice roasted tomatoe and veggie soup with pommes frites. The beignets were nice and fluffy. Pretty good. I guess I have to be more adventurous next time!

Andrei's has the potential to be a very good restaurant. It's centrally located for an OC business lunch, and yet it's upscale enough for a nice dinner out. It's decorated in a slight tropical theme with a lovely waterfall. It works. However, there is something a little amateurish about the service and I would like very much if they addressed it. Our lunch server (both times) seemed not to know the menu well. Both times, it also seemed like it was their first week at the restaurant and they were a little confused. It also would've been nice if they stopped by a little more often to see whether we actually needed something. As for the food - it was decent. I had the Moroccan wrap (vegetarian) and was pleasantly surprised that it a) was healthy, b) filling and c) tasted pretty good. My lunch partner had the fish tacos and was happy with them. Neither of us eat huge portions, so Andrei's normal portions were just fine. Who needs to go back to work in a coma; it's already bad enough we have to go back to work! For those who care about price, the wrap was $13 and the tacos were $14. I finished the lunch with a good double espresso $4.50, which was served with lemon-peel garnish, but felt lonely not being served with a brown sugar cube and biscuit. I want to be clear that I am saying you should consider giving this place a chance. The food is good and they wisely have HH from 3-7PM M-F, as well as free corkage on Mondays and Tuesdays. Check out the menu in advance and know what you want to try when you get there, in case they haven't addressed the "lost server" issue.

Right next to Main St Village apartments, Andrei's CC&C. There is valet parking and also free parking in the Trilogy parking center. I try not to valet unless its required- I mean I know everyone puts the Jetta out front but I like to roll a little more low key. OC Restaurant Week Pre Fixe: Great selections for $40! My choice: -Di Stephano Burrata Mozzarella, Seasonal Tomatoes, Scarborough Farm Wild Baby Arugula, Basil, Sparrow Farm Balsamic Vinegar Reduction, California Olive Oi -Pancetta wrapped halibut served with fresh veggies (asparagus, peppers, squash) -Lemon Tart The salad was excellent, I love the balsamic glaze and really had a hard time deciding which salad to go with since they all looked so amazing. However, my fish was just OK. The portion was quite sizable, thank you, but I did think it was a bit over cooked and there was no flakiness. I really enjoyed the lemon tart and this definitely was a table favorite. The crust was quite thick and difficult to eat with a spoon, I think you would do better with a fork and knife. Service was excellent and they even brought a complimentary dessert of Cinnamon & Coffee Crème Brulee, Almond Biscotti for our birthday girl. 4 stars for the upscale dining without the hoity toity fuss, great service and kick @ss happy hour which I need to revisit. I definitely think their HH is where its at.

I've been here a couple times now. Once for a very long, and well-deserved, happy hour and once for drinks and dinner. The restaurant itself is beautiful! Located on the second floor, you have to walk past the two story waterfall and up the stairs to get to it. It's a great place for healthy, delicious food. I've read that it's a little hard to find, but actually the restaurant is very easy to find...it's the parking that is difficult to find! Don't misunderstand because there is plenty of parking once you FIND the parking structure. I was lucky my first time and followed a car through a dark and twisty road before finding the structure. If you come before 5pm you need to get your parking validated but after 5pm the gate arm is open to all! Happy hour is from 3pm-7pm and I ordered quite a few things from it because I was starving. I also ordered quite a bit when I went for dinner so I think I have a pretty good idea of their quality of food. The Monterey Bay Calamari was amazing, but carefully read the description for that item because it's not of the breaded/fried variety. It's actually seared and served with bell peppers, zucchini, yellow squash, some other vegetables I can't recall...and capers. Very fresh, light and delicious! Crab cakes were also a good choice and as was the hummus plate (Mediterranean Tasting is what it's called on the menu). Now the important part..the drinks! I'm a big sparkling drink fan. I think it has something to do with the bubbles. Anyway, they have 4 on the menu and I'm not ashamed to say I ordered all 4 :D My favorite would be the Summer in Provence which has lavender essence, white grape juice and champagne. A close second would be the Bastille Day which has berries, x-rated liqueur and champagne! So yeah..try this place out!

I have been here three times now, once for Dinner, once for lunch and once for a private event; Every time I have been extremely satisfied with the quality of service and the quality of food. For Lunch I sat at the bar which allowed for an expedited lunch outing. I'll continue to frequent here with the wife for date night and quick lunches.

Mom and I were interested in trying something new for dinner this week, so we did a yelp search and found this place. It's kinda' situated in a weird spot between hotels, but it's a lovely restaurant with a cool story and philosophy. First things first, the valets here are so nice. My mom self parked and one man walked her all the way to her car to ensure her safety and to ensure she safely found her car. That's worth the (cheap) valet fee right there. So nice. Inside, the restaurant is lovely, warm, and inviting. Food wise, I had the fish (mahi mahi) which was rather yummy. The goat cheese risotto was ok, but the sauce they used for the fish was really the best. I also had the spinach salad, which was light and refreshing. There were a couple of hiccups here- bringing me tea they mistook for coffee, mixing up juices they put in mom's drink, but otherwise, the food was pretty good and the service was attentive. All in all, I'd come back. Just be sure to sniff your coffee to make sure it really is coffee they're serving you.

Recommendations: -- HAPPY HOUR: Mon-Fri. 3-7pm -- 6 for $6 dishes: BBQ Chicken Flatbread (a must!!), Pommes Frites, Crab Cakes -- AVOID: Monterey Bay Calamari -- Drinks: Geisha Drop, Algerian Boulevard, Acrobat Pinot Gris white wine Tips: -- Keep driving straight towards the back, follow the signs for free parking in the garage (gates usually up after 5 pm, otherwise it will be validated) -- Very classy, sophisticated, lounge-y atmosphere -- Portion sizes are not that big -- Good customer service Review: Andrei's is my new favorite place to come for Happy Hour and to bring my friends from the office, since we work so close by! Considering this restaurant is on the pricier side, their happy hour prices are a good deal, although somewhat limited, especially if you come here often. They have 6 different small plates for $6 each, and a selection of cocktails for $6 and glasses of wine for $7. One of my favorite things about Andrei's is the nice, lounge-y atmosphere upstairs in the bar/happy hour area. Walk in and you might be confused at first, but all of their tables and booth are upstairs unless you're there for a special event. It's very classy and sophisticated! It's open seating in the bar area, or you can ask for a table, which we usually do. I'm a big fan of certain items on their happy hour menu, and find other items kind of average. However, don't expect to be completely filled up on their small dishes, because portion sizes are not that big. My absolute favorite is the BBQ Chicken Flatbread, which is absolutely delicious and all of my friends have loved it when I recommend it. I also like the Pommes Frites, which is just a fancy way of saying french fries, and comes with cilantro pesto sauce. I've also tried the Crab Cakes and Grilled Tomato & Cheese, which weren't my favorites. Be careful with the Grilled Tomato & Cheese, because the goat cheese is a pretty strong flavor so you might want to stay away from it if you're not a big fan of it. The one item we ventured off of the 6 for $6 menu was to try the Monterey Bay Calamari. I would highly recommend AVOIDING this dish. We thought it was a pretty safe choice because when you order calamari as an appetizer, you typically expect fried calamari. But their calamari is seared and had a really rubbery texture, and was served with a lot of miscellaneous filler garnishes like bell pepper, zucchini, squash and lime. It was a weird combination and we just didn't like it at all. As for drinks, I would recommend the Geisha Drop, which is lychee vodka and passion fruit puree, or the Algerian Boulevard, which is really fruity and yummy because it comes with crushed strawberries, citron vodka, agave nectar and a lemon squeeze. Both times I've come, the service has been pretty on par. Very friendly and they check on you often, which is appreciated. They have a parking garage with free parking towards the back of the complex, and the gates are usually up after 5 pm. Definitely check out Andrei's for a classy Happy Hour experience!

[DISCLAIMER: OC Restaurant Week 2013] The full name is actually Andrei's Conscious Cuisine and Cocktails but to avoid having an extremely long title for the post, I'm just shortening it to Andrei's. Sounds more neighborhood-friendly, no? Then again, this place is set among office buildings and has a very business-class air about it. I came here for OC Restaurant Week, something they even publicize well by having the OCRW menus be the landing page pop-up when you go to their website. So there were three choices for starters off of this $20 prix fixe menu but we happened to choose the same starter. Of the spinach cigars, California field greens, and seasonal soup, we both picked the Spinach Cigars (roasted Feuille de Brick stuffed with spinach and Feta cheese & served with cucumber tzatziki). Crisp along the edges, perhaps we had waited a little too long with my taking of pictures because it wasn't as crisp in the middle for the wrapper. The filling was pleasant with enough spinach to offset any strong Feta. The cucumber tzatziki was a little more on the sour side than preferred but otherwise, had a good mix between saucy and chunky. I also ate the greens upon which the "cigars" sat. We didn't overlap on our entrees though so it was great to see what differences there were in style and cuisine. On the Restaurant Week menu were three choices: greek lamb pita, Andrei's chop salad, and shrimp fettuccine. We opted for the Greek Lamb Pita (Superior Farms natural ground lamb, cucumber, tomato, iceberg lettuce, red onion confit, Halloumi cheese, mint, pita bread, roasted basmati rice) and the Shrimp Fettuccine (Moroccan-spiced Mexican shrimp, fresh fettuccine, zucchini, tomato, cream reduction, pea tendrils). The amassed amount of food on top of my pita and the finely chopped nature of each ingredient made me opt for using my knife and fork on this beast. Every piece was fresh and vibrant but it was difficult to tell that the lamb was lamb by how finely ground it was. I greatly appreciated the sweetness the confit brought to the otherwise potential salsa-like vegetable arrangement. Unfortunately the side of rice was quite forgettable. My lunchmate's shrimp fettuccine was lovely with its spicy kick once the creaminess wore off. The pasta was a tad harder than expected but not distracting. The shrimp was cooked in just the right amount of time to give it its solidness and yet juiciness. An enjoyable entree! With two options for dessert, it was easy to pick just one of each. My Lemon Tart (California Farms organic lemon tart with Italian meringue) came in a thick tart shell and what could have been mistaken for toasted marshmallow on top but was really meringue. It was tart enough that I finished the whole thing without worrying about there being too much sweetness was in my dessert (don't have much of a sweet tooth!). I thoroughly enjoyed it. The other dessert on the table was the Butterscotch Pudding (butterscotch pudding, Chantilly cream, bourbon & pecan cookie) which we both agreed was underwhelming on the butterscotch side. It was much more like a vanilla pudding than anything. The cookie's flavors were lost as well and probably distracted from due to how hard the thing was. Nevertheless, as a pudding itself, it was very tasty and especially so if you weren't expecting a heavy butterscotch taste.
