Five stars because I met my husband here. True love at Boardner's. It could happen to you too.

It's a nice slice of old Hollywood. But really, what's with all of the bars with no 'effin draft beer? Oh well, anyway... Liked the patio. I felt half inside, half outside. Could be a dandy spot to see some bands. I'd chill there if I lived in the 'hood.

The security at Boardner's is whack. I've gotten in more fights with the security then I probably have with other people. There was one guy who was obviously having a bad day talking crap about everyone who was at the club saying they were undeserving kids that needed to go home and go to church. Then there was another guy who complained about me and my good girl friend, who's a good friend, not my "girlfriend" and he was totally gay bashing. As far as the venue goes, its ok. Nothing special. I do remember having to wait in line forever for the bathroom because too many girls could not handle their drink.

This place has a really good happy hour. I think its over around 8pm but if you get there early their 5$ lunch specials are awesome. Three words, Pulled Pork Sandwich. Its good for a pregame, I wouldn't stay there all night though.

For some reason, I end up here on a fairly regular basis. Actually, the reason is straightforward. One of my friends lives around the corner from the place and thus lobbies successfully for us to head here. I can't say that I hate it, but I'm not sure why anyone would ever go here, either. The food, at least the bar food, blows. The chips are soggy, the fries over-seasoned (and this coming from a girl who eats garlic like apples), the spinach dip lacks flavor. Plus, they don't have any beer on tap. And, on more than one occasion, they've run out of cold Fat Tire. What?! I've never had a bar tell me they've run out of cold anything before, much less tell me twice. I guess the thing to do is order cocktails, because their wines are none-too-tasty, but it's in Hollywood, I live in West LA and cocktails mean I've got to find a friend to cuddle with on the street because there's no way I'm getting home after more than a couple. However, one of the bartenders grew up in the small Illinois town I went to college in. I found this out because the bartenders are friendly and more charming than most, although that hardly makes up for the fact that they can't keep Fat Tires cold.

Sundays = All day happy hour. $5 apps & well drinks & beer. Awesome. This is a good place to gather with friends if you happen to be in the area already. Its not too loud where you can't hear the person talking to you, and its not too dark where you have to strain to see said person with candlelight.

This is a real sweet club. They pretty much cover all styles. Every night is a different DJ / theme. From goth to indie to 80,s. The bouncers can be ego maniacs but if you don't mess with them you will be just fine. Drinks are pricey like most west hollywood clubs. This place is always packed and always a good time.

Wow, I was just strolling Hollywood Blvd. with my lady friend and we were looking for a bite to eat. Boardners was on the way and I thought we could peak in and see what was up. Oh my, I knew the decor and ambiance had changed a bit from the past, but the menu was tangible, yet sprinkled with little, tasty, tapa-like dishes. We had the salmon, mushrooms and mac and cheese. All three were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. I was licking my chops for hours. The service was warm and frinedly and we felt most comfortable. It was early enough that it was quiest and our booth was clean and cozy. I will be back for the other items on the menu!

I really had a really great time here. The bartenders are nice and the outside area is great. Took a small trip to LA and we went here during the day to get out of the rain then later in the night to get a few drinks. Day and night is completely different because this place gets packed! I can't wait to come back!

I always come on Blue Mondays. Awesome atmosphere! The upstairs has freaking video games for when you get bored or tired! There is seating upstairs and downstairs. Bathrooms are good. The outside is industrial/techno and awesome when you are super hot from dancing. There are 2 bars, semi overly priced drinks...but that is everywhere. Come with a few people and it's a blast!

Anyone giving this place more than one star must not have been to this place 6-8 years ago. Used to be a familiar, fun dive bar with four songs for a dollar. If you are looking for a fake dive bar with fake cool hipsters, THIS IS IT!

Love this place! Such an awesome atmosphere it's worth the drink prices. During the day was the best (previously had been here for bar sinister in another area at 11pm). Sat at the bar for a while, awesome hot chick bartender hooked us up with something not on the menu, mini long island iced teas for $6. Not the strongest but it was cool just the same. We proceeded to sit outside where a tent covers you and there's copious amounts of flowers and an awesome fountain filled with melting candles! ATM inside for all card users. LOVE THIS BAR!

Okay, I absolutely LOVE this venue. If I could have an apartment that looked exactly like it, I would do it in a heartbeat. I really enjoy going to Club Moscow on Wednesdays. The music is always good, the bar in the dance room is awesome. The bartenders make really good drinks at reasonable prices for a Hollywood club. The security guards are always really nice, unless you're starting trouble, ofcourse. Overall, this venue is definitely worth checking out.

My favorite club of all time. Spacious dancefloor, plenty of places to sit down and relax, and really awesome security. Of all the clubs I've been to, Boardners is the best!

This place has by far one of the best happy hours for food in Hollywood!!! It goes from 4-8 and all of their appetizers are half off, domestic beers are 3 bucks, imported beers 4 bucks, and wells for 5 bucks!!! Their beer selection is pretty crappy. I got the chicken strips with fries for 5 bucks and they were bomb. My buddy got the "wings on fire" which of course are buffalo wings, and they were good to. They make their own buffalo sauce which makes them a must try!!! Their decor is dim lighting with a kinda gothic feel to it!!! I was told that this is one of the oldest bars in Hollywood!!! I highly recommend this place for happy hour but be careful because, after a certain hour the place gets loaded with the Hollywood goth crowd trying to suck your blood!!! Just kidding about the blood part......... I think!!! Pros: Cheap, good food, great juke box, clean restrooms Cons: Service can be a little slow!!!

Well I hit this place on a Wednesday night for the hipster crazy Club Moscow. And wow this place got packed. I was pretty tired and not in the mood to dance but you can get a pretty sweet view of the floor from an upstairs lounge. Then outside/patio there were a couple of great bands that played. It was a nice change from the pulsing hot dance room inside. No cover for me, but I guess if you're a young one you have to pay $10 I believe. The line was getting pretty intense at a point so do what I do and make a friend or two and get yourself on the list. No one likes standing in line. Drinks weren't too pricey and the music was good. Though the atmosphere isn't for everyone, you have to enjoy thinking to yourself, "was that a guy or a girl?" and please girls remember lots of eye liner. If you tend to walk around everyday looking like you just fell out of an American Apparel ad then this is the place for you! Oh and please remember to wear your cowboy boots kids, I thought I was going to get thrown out for daring to go out in flip flops. GASP!

I've been here a total of 2 times, both times to Bar Sinister on Saturday night. First time, my experience was OK, but I was pregnant and couldn't drink so I didn't know what to expect when drinking. The last time I went, I went to see a show there and I wasn't pregnant so I could drink. Drinks were SO expensive. $8 for a "bottom shelf" vodka drink is not worth it to me. If you're going to charge me $8 a drink, use something that is going to taste good and get me a little buzzed. After 4 drinks, I gave up and went home. Yes, I drove. I think they gave me flavored water. Honestly.

A true Tinseltown haunt that must be visited to soak up some old time Hollywood essence. The place is very low key and kick-back but used to be a prime spot for stars in the 40's and 50's. I read a story in the LA weekly a few years ago describing some of the remarkable events that happened here. I have been many times through the years and as of the last time (a few years back) it looks like they refurbished the inside. It's still a very dark interior but the back patio is always good bet to people watch or see a band. Never ate here so I can't vouch for the food. Service has always been so-so which I expect for a place like this.

Cool and dark atmosphere, beautiful interior, good food and happy hour... the 10 layer nachos are GREAT! Also had a delicious short rib and brie sandwich (with fries) - each were $6 during happy hour. They also have board games you can play at your table.

This bar has a lot of great things going for it. You can feel the history oozing out of the shadows in the dark wooden interior -- it is one of the oldest bars in Hollywood. The bartender is very chill and if he's free will make you a custom drink, or at least he did for my female friend. Not to mention, the mac 'n cheese is indubitably the cheesiest awesomeness to pass my lips outside the South. So why the 2-stars? "Bad service, thy name was our waitress." Sucky waitresses of the world, here are some tips: (1) When someone comes to the bar to make an order, it's cause you didn't come to the table yet. Strike 1. In this circumstance, don't then tell the customer, "Oh just go back to the table, I'll come over." Strike 2. And if you do say this, then come over immediately, don't putz around at the bar, and then come over 5 min later. Strike 3, you're outta there. No wait, there's more. (2) If the food is going to be really really really late because a large group just placed their order, maybe it would be a good idea to give your customer a heads-up so they know what to expect. Instead of having to find out from the bartender cause it took more than a half hour for the appetizer to arrive. Strike 4. (3) Having already made someone wait 5 min once to place an order, don't make them wait another 5 min again. Strike 5. When someone asks you for a beer, give it to them now. Don't tell them, "I'll bring it to you" (strike 6), putz around at the bar *again* (strike 7), and then bring the beer 5 min later (strike 8). (4) When a customer tells you he wants to pay separately, don't argue with him and tell him it will cost more (strike 9 -- that's the inning). Especially if you don't understand that 18% gratuity is the same amount whether its two checks or one. (strike 10) (5) It is generally bad form to be seen hanging around with your friends at one table while ignoring customers at the very next table. (strike 11) (6) Don't tell a customer its $.50 extra to use a credit card. That's illegal. Your bar can lose its contract with Visa if they find out you did that. (strikes 12-15) Not to stretch the baseball metaphor so far the bat breaks, but that's like 5 strikeouts in an evening.

Blue Mondays at Boardner's is definitely the place to be on a Monday night. They play fun music to dance to (New Order, Depeche Mode, The Cure, etc- mostly new wave 80's and electronica) and if you wanna chill out from dancing they have old school nintendo on two screens upstairs and comfy couches you could just fall asleep in. The people you meet here are a very interesting and refreshing crowd and not your typical every day club goers. The only trouble I've had here was one of the bouncers thought I was using a fake UNDER 21 ID - that's a new one right? It took me several minutes to get it through his head that if I was gonna bother using a fake ID, I'd at least try to use an OVER 21 ID. That was pretty lame, but I still love Blue Mondays. When I'm back in Los Angeles I'm definitely returning for some cheesy 80's drunk dancing good times.

I went here only once and wasn't too impressed. It was basically just one huge room and the decoration was minimal. The only good thing was that we didn't have to wait in the line- one of the guys at the door came up to get me and my friends and we went right in. Later, the same guy that let us in came inside to find us and gave us free drink chips. Other than that, it wasn't a very great place to be.

I've been to Boardners exactly once, at it was on a Wednesday night (read: Moscow, 18+ night) to see a band. Managed to find street parking on Sunset, and it was definitely worth the short walk to avoid the overpriced lots. We walked right in; no line and list spots made it hassle-free. As a venue, I really enjoyed the place. The stage is outside on the patio, which has its own bar and a really interesting fountain, which I came to appreciate since it was blocking my view of the band. The sound wasn't great, but given that it's outside, that's expected. Aside from paying $5 for a bottle of WATER, it was a good night. The major negative is the crowd. I brought a friend to the show, and the first thing he said after I invited him was, "Moscow? Sure, let me just put on tighter pants." I prefer to avoid the Hollywood hipster types that seem to flock to this place. I've never seen so many people in one place attempting to make smoking look "cool". But if that's your crowd, then you'll love it. I didn't spend much time indoors, but it was definitely packed. The couches upstairs are a nice touch. The whole place was dimly lit and the DJ seemed decent. I'd go back to see a band, but not for anything else. I'd definitely prefer somewhere with a little less ego and much cheaper drinks.

I'd like to propose that for every establishment in the greater Hollywood area, Yelp adds a PDF (Pretentious Douchebag Factor) quotient to its business details section, b/c I am tired of having to weigh the amount of idiots at a place into my reviews, and what clientele a bar/restaurant/etc. attracts presently can't really be blamed upon said bar/restaurant/etc. I think the PDF quotient should range from 1-5, or a-f, or something of the sort. Boardner's gets a 4, or a D, on those scales for me. I only hung out at this place for an hour, and I didn't even have a drink (though I noticed they were small and served in plastic cups), so I don't feel right rating it terribly low. It has a cool gothic ambience, but it felt like Hot Topic vomited all over everything, patrons included. The funny thing about this place is that I'd never hardly heard it mentioned before, then this week, a girl I've gone out with a couple times had me meet her here Wednesday, and a different girl I went out with last night was coming here after our date and invited me to their 80s night on Monday. I'm really liking the one I met up with here on Weds., and she hates the place, whereas the one last night who I may go to 80s night with (if, you know, I'm not shacking up with the other girl) is more a potential friend. What does all that sum up to? Not a lot, I mostly just wanted a reason to write about my new idea, Yelp's PDF quotient, and Boardner's fit the bill perfectly.

I'm pretty amazed at how well unknown this awesome bar is. I recently brought a large group of friends to check this place out, and I think I was the only one in a very large group who had been here before. Considering it's prime location in Hollywood they're either doing things exactly right and catering to an in-the-know crowd, or they're somehow missing out on the large crowds that every other trendy bar seems to get. But, regardless, I love this place because it doesn't have those huge crowds. The clientele is all friendly and it's just a great place to hang out. In addition the bartenders all really know their *stuff*. Now, some bartenders mix a meaner drink than others, but all told, it's just a great place to drink. And the food isn't bad either.

STOP THE FREAKING PRESSES!!! I have to revamp my whole review because this place deserves it. I thought I liked it before . Now, I'm in love. LOVE! So, when I was in Buenos Aires I fell in love with a little liquor called Fernet Branca. The only place I could find is is at BevMo for a staggering $30 a bottle but then, THEN I found out through a fellow Yelper that my adored Boardner's has it stocked in their bar. I got choked up with glee. My God, I love me some Fernet. *EHEM*. Sorry. My birthday party was coming up and in true Birthday Princess fashion, I changed locals just so I could get shit faced on my favorite booze. It was a Sunday night. I asked the bar tender if it was ok for my friend to bring a cake he made for me. "Our kitchen is closed so if you want to bring food too, you're more than welcome". Talk about accommodating! When a friend brought me a frozen lasagna as a present (don't ask) I asked the tender if he could stick it in the fridge for me. Without hesitation and with a smile on his face, he took care of it. As I said it was my birthday. The thirty of us took over the back patio with no problem, all of my guests were well taken care of and the electronic juke box made it so I felt like I had my own damn D.J. Oh, and because it was a Sunday night, parking was a breeze. Best birthday ever all because of Boardner's. Five stars! Here's the old review: I never got a chance to know the old Boardner's but I'm a fan of the new one. I like to go around 6 or 7, before it becomes "___ night" and just cozy up in a deep booth, toss back a few gimlets and stuff my face. I found one of my favorite foods in the world here: the brie and mushroom wrap. I wake up at 4 am sometimes craving that f-ing goodness. Drinks are made well and not too pricey. Ambiance is cozy and dark. I really do dig this place. You can tell it used to be a serious dive before because some of the old school barflies still buzz around this place. I love that. Parking sucks, though.

This is a review for the bar only...I've never been to the club and frankly didn't even know it existed until just recently. In my mind, Boardner's is a place straight out of old Hollywood, but I've only been in L.A. for a little over 2 years so I'm just talking out of my ass. It's a dimly-lit bar, with high-backed leather seats in the booths, and mirrors on all the walls. I'm not a smoker and generally don't like being around it, but I almost wish this place had an exception to the smoking ban. A cloud of smoke would fit perfectly. The drinks are quick and heavy on the booze. Those are both good things.

Cool place with a great vibe. We had a awesome waitress and the drink and food happy hour specials were perfect. I'd will most likely be coming back for more - OH...AND the Mac & Cheese is really good!

I went to Blue Mondays last night (80s, indie/electro night) and I think it was a pretty good time. I think I have probably been to every L.A. club at some point in my life but I just don't remember until I go there again. Same thing happened last night at Boardner's. Is it just me or would Boardner's make a really cool goth mansion? I love the decor but I think I'm just a sucker for black, although those celtic designs painted on the walls are bit...cheesy? I love the use/abuse of mirrors though. There are two dancefloors. At Blue Mondays the inside plays 80s and the smaller outside dance/bar/smoking area is indie/electro. The outdoor patio area has this old water fountain thing that provides some seating but takes away from standing room. Although it does have this old candelabra in it that I want to steal. The space is cool but...they charge for a cup of water?

Good food. Iffy on the wine, but hey, it's not a wine bar. The service is kinda slow and it never seems to be very crowded when I go, so there is really o excuse for it. I like the decor and the company. The music is alright, ad it is a good relaxing place to go before you head to a big club or something.

My oh My how Times change. Finally got around to checking out the "new and improved" Boardner's last night for a friend's bday party and I'm totally mixed in my feelings for the place now. Back in my pseudo rock slut days, (I wasn't really a slut, I just played one on TV), we used to come here after shows at Bar D (Anyone remember that bar?) I celebrated my 22nd and 25th birthdays on the back patio here. Me, a small group of friends and of course the barflies. We'd ditch work at A&M and come have liquid lunches here. This was the dark, shady place you would come with people you may not have wanted to be seen with and it was the kinda place where you would never sit down on the toilet. It was magic, but I'm afraid those days are gone. Gone are the cheesy red booths and the cheesy glass dividers. Gone is the ghetto bar with the old timers. Now, there's fancy booths, fancy padded chairs, higher priced drinks and the "divey Hollywood vibe" is truly...GONE. Now for someone who didn't know and love this place back in the day, then it's a fine place to hang and it's probably a good call for people looking for a place with seemingly no cover. Unless of course you want to go on the patio then there is a cover. Lame. They do serve food now though, as opposed to the 3 items that used to be on the menu that you'd be too scared to ever order. Now it looks like a varied spread from cajun chicken fingers and fish and chips to ahi sashimi and nachos. And they now have a super fancy pants Flash website. Boardner's...with a website. What? It's just so weird. Overall, I can't see myself rushing back here as it's a bit sad to see the place you once knew and loved turn into something you never would have given the time of day, but alas, as is life... Jeez, so sentimental today. I need to go buy myself a Hallmark card now and eat some ice cream............

Boardner' s itself was very cool. I'd like to go back and try it on a different night though. I went on Wednesday and it was "Club Moscow"....so not my scene. Very punk, very goth and very lame. I can't believe people actually wait in line and pay for that! I'm not sure if it was super crowded cause it was Valentine's Day or what, I only went because my favorite band Oliver Future was playing! I had no clue that it was a "punk-goth" night. I stopped in at Skooby's before the show and the Skooby's boys were like you aren't really dressed for Club Moscow. I got all worried and thought I was under dressed but once I got there I realized what they meant! I really liked the actual bar and the sound system on the patio for live music was one of the better ones I've heard. I just really didn't like being surrounded by a bunch of guys who were wearing jeans about 2 sizes smaller then me! Bouncers were idiots. Bartenders were good both inside and out. The drink was strong and not overly priced. Like I said I would go back again on another night or even again for Club Moscow but only if Oliver Future is playing!

I'm pretty in love with this place. Had a holiday party here, and it was a blast! They have a very friendly staff and a pretty plush decor. It was very intimate and spacey. The ONLY thing is that the bathrooms are TINY. itty bitty really.

I went here on a wednesday night to see The Jakes with my bestfriend, we came early so we sat around on the bench for a while. We befriended one of the bouncers, "Cadillac D" he was pretty interesting...anyway, the outside patio/stage area was very cozy. They supplied us with these couches/chairs, when we decided to go inside we discovered that it was pretty packed. Small dance floor and ok music (the DJ did not have smooth transitions) besides that it was free, and tis was fun. I would come back.

We just so happened to show up at Boardner's on THE most crowded parking day of the damn year! lol I mean seriously...there were, not one, but TWO street carnivals complete with Ferris wheels within four square blocks of the joint AND it was a Saturday so the typical Sunset and Hollywood madness was underway. Anyway...we ended up shelling out $14...well, it was a $15 deposit but you get back what you don't use ($2/15 minutes with a $15 max)...for the parking lot across the street...WHICH...was worth it on account of all the peeps heading in droves for cotton candy. Boarder's...nice, small, dark, quaint, kickass jukebox selection, easy to get in, not so crowded early in the eve but a little fuller later in the night. Stella and a jack and coke: $12. They serve food which smelled pretty yummy (typical bar food I presume) but I didn't partake. Good place to have a birthday (that's what we were there for)...or even a date over cocktails. Beware however that the bar next door plays some LOUD music which can drown out conversation each time they open the door!!

I've only been here once - a few months back - apparently right after they reopened after a renovation, because my girlfriend was saying how the place was totally different. She said it was "nicer" now but I couldn't tell if she meant that in a good way or bad way... Having never experienced the "old" Boardner's, I gotta say the "new" version works fine for me. I remember the food was good... can't remember exactly what I ordered though... some kind of sandwich I think. One thing i DO remember is the sweet potato fries. Those were tasty! We were there in the afternoon and the place was dead, so I can't comment on the nighttime "scene"

It's really my kind of place, too bad it's so far away from home. Dark and cozy. Great date place because of the just big enough booths. A decent beer selection. Bartenders that serve decent mixed drinks. A crowd that's hip enough to be considered hip, but not too hip, like they are going to throw you out because you didn't wear the right shirt. And one of the best hamburgers I've ever had.

...another of the old haunts from my Hollywood days, back when I used to be a glam rocker posing for pictures with tourists on "The Boulevard" or Rockin with Stevie Padilla and our band Crisis. Not too much has changed since those early days. You can still choose between purchasing Chinese food, touristy memorabilia/t-shirts, exotic flowers, magazines or kind buds and crack on the corner of Cherokee and Hollywood Blvd, just to the north of the front door, and once inside you can still find one of the sweetest stocked jukeboxes in all of L.A. Yes, this is it! It doesn't get any better than this, even at noon! I love the barfly atmosphere! Huge semicircular booth's face the bar and the lit candles on the tables give the joint a sort of timeless presence and vintage atmosphere that is priceless. Frosted tumblers and 22oz up glasses-Sewer Swank at it's finest! Hollywood rules and Boardners IS Hollywood!

one of the best hollywood clubs out there. ive been here on 2 occasions, and both times, i had the time of my life. the only downer - its an 18+ club. wiizzeakk. but other than watching little kids with x's on there hands running around trying to sneak a drink in here and there, its an awesome club. oh yeah..the bouncers are wack. like freakin wack. i would give this club 4.5 stars if i could. the first time i went, i went with some friends, and they played to some pretty good house music in the outside dance floor. this club plays an array of music, which i like. it doesnt always have to be that bump-n-grind mumbo jumbo. i love the people, the atmosphere, and the venue. oh yeah, another downer is the parking. its pretty close, but it was pretty pricy. the second time i went, it was like 80's night or something. i had the time of my life. the bartenders are pretty good (they made my drinks pretty strong). good music, good drinks, good people (they share cigs), and just good times. so if you're a fan of ALL types of music (not just lil' jon and the eastside boys) then you will love this place like forreal NOTE: beware of the fat chic working the front table. she has NO remorse for people who didn't know there was no 're-admits'

If I had reviewed Boardner's a year ago I would have given it 5 BIG RED STARS....Alas, the new owner recently revamped what once was (in my humble opinion) Old Hollywood's diamond in the rough. As many of you know they are refacing most of Hollywood Blvd. If you need some good n' raunchy sex toys, now is the time to buy because they might not be as readily available on Hollywood Blvd next week. But I digress... Boardner's....ahhh....Boardner's. This bar has been an institution in Hollywood since the 1930's and up until March of this year had it's original decor. In my opinion it has lost a lot of its charm due to the remodel, but still has an incredible selection of music in the jukebox (from Willie Nelson and Dean Martin to No Doubt and the Killers). WIth comfy booths and most importantly Forrest the bartender that can serve up a mean martini (or in my case pour a can of Guniess) and tell you some wild and crazy stories of Old Hollywood it is still worth visiting. It's a pitstop for Hollywood's annual Santa Claus barhop, and still a hangout where thelocal street performers rest their weary bones, have a beer and count their tips from the day. There is metered parking out front, and depending on the day $5 - $7 parking closeby. You can have a good drink, good conversation and then stumble outside to Skooby's just around the corner for a hot dog and chili fries. All in all, not what it used to be, but still one of the better bars in Hollywood.

love this place. even if it's 18 and over, moscow wednesdays remains one of my most favorite clubs. house on fridays is pretty chill too. blue mondays is horrible. bunch of 30 year olds hopping around to 80s music. its usually always 18 and over but i just found out that on saturdays its 21 and over.

I came here a couple times when free thinking was weekly there. It was pretty fun. I know the drinks were kind of expensive back then... But... I don't like it here because they rejected me with my REAL id. I told them to call the cops cuz i wasn't scared! Bastards... SO they didnt let me in. Eff boardners!

Somebody call Michael J Fox...Grab his garbage driven DeLorean and take me back to the 1998 Boardners. What the hell happened?! I leave you for a couple of years and you morph into a gothic Cheesecake Factory?! Such a downer. Who wants to hear Phil Collins while they get shitty? Not me. Huffy bartender lady who wouldn't serve my friend... FYI he was HIGH not DRUNK. What kind of bartender are you to not know the difference? (Bless your heart Johnny Cocaine...) Fuck Hollywood. It sucks now.

Good mix of 80's in the inside and electronic in the patio during Blue Monday's. Last time I was here i had a blast. Plain simple fun. Plus the lounge upstairs has Nintendo and Atari video games to play. Place takes a while to get going but it does roll. Love it

go here on MOSCOW WEDNESDAYS! scene fest to the maxxxx. good dj's, good drink prices, great staff and environment. alot of tattooed kids and fixed bike riders. you can go upstairs and have your picture taken for free which is fun. multi levels and a cool 'outside' area with the best bar in the corner. the bartnder lady there always hooks it up. i think its usually 10 bucks, ive never paid, but if you want to go to scene heaven, this is it!

pretty cool place. the crowd varies but is otherwise cool to bump shoulders with. kinda makes me feel like i am not the only one who think "hey i just want to drink and have a good time" believe it or not, these places are hard to find in these fake clubs

No attitude. Lots of seating room and good food, too. This is my neighborhood hang-out; it's not a "scene" and that's a good thing for me.

i Looooooove Blue Mondays, if you like 80s its very cool and fun and people are chill, and music is great, they have 2 rooms and an upstairs lounge with couches and 80s video games...

this place is wack. Straight up. Parking is no less then $10, you might get lucky and get parking on the street. There are 2 entrances to this place. Make sure you know where youre supposed to go because nobody is friendly enough to let you know. Ive been here a few times, mostly on fridays. Every 3rd friday is Kinesic (House Music) with Muse (drum n bass) on the patio. The security here are huge ASSHOLES. they are rude, power trippin' dicks who are looking to start trouble with everyone & anyone. Ive seen & experienced it numerous times. Their bartenders are slow & unfriendly as well. Its too bad because the venue itself is really nice, unique, and spacious. Its too bad the management hire a bunch of sour pricks to represent them. If youre into good sound systems this is not the place you want to come. But I'm sure if you come just to pick up on chicks the jukebox in the lounge would do just fine....*gag* Save your money & sanity go up the block to king king, at least they have good sound & friendly security....

I heart boardners! Plenty of sitting both at booths/tables and at the bar and just as much room to maneuver. Its decorated and lit nicely. I have gone to have a couple drinks with friends and to just have dinner- the potstickers are AWESOME! Sometimes they open the back up and you can smoke and drink out the back where there is a fountain, stage, and some places to sit; but if there is an event going on you have to go out front to smoke and cant bring your drink with you ( boo!). drinks are well mixed and bartenders are cool. You will definitely see your share of locals and regulars as it is kinda off the beaten path, but I would recommend this place to anyone- for drinks or food or both. PS- those pot stickers are AWESOME...did I say that already?

One of the select few bars in LA that serve Fernet Branca. One day LA, one day you will realize the beauty of Fernet. Then there will be no turning back!! whaa haa haa...

15 years ago I used to drink here a lot, now we go for the food. The food is surprisingly good and it always feels like I ate healthy after. And of course it's still a good place to get a drink.

i hadn't been here in years, but it was pleasantly better than i remembered! the place felt semi up-scale-ish and accomodated our work girlie night out nicely. it was perfect for that. appetizers. cocktails. quiet enough to hear each other, etc. i could even see myself here on a date. you know, sharing a booth, looking at the fireplace and then heading to the club next door.

This place has nice decor and a good vibe but I had an awful experience with the bartenders who were working the inside bar on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at the "Moscow" club. Both the male and female bartenders were so rude I would NEVER return to this club. I order two drinks from the male bartender who took my card and took his sweet time to run it and give me my bill. When he finally did, he had taken the liberty of writing in his own tip! AND he charged me more for the drinks then he originally told me they were priced. When I crossed out the tip and gave the bill back to the female bartender she looked at it and then showed the male bartender. He got pissed slammed my card on the bar in front of me and yelled "F*cking B*itch" at me!!! I have never experienced any service like that and suggest that both of those bartenders get a lesson in customer service. Who writes in their own tip!?! So, sorry "Moscow" you will never see this girl again. I do not suggest this place to anyone looking to be treated with general respect or dignity.

God damnit Boardner's if one more fucking staffer cards me again I'm going to punch someone in the face. First I get carded at the door, then the bar, then when I sat down, went to the bathroom and on my way out the door. WTF?!?! STOP IT!! I swear my fucking ID's real. Now knock it off!! /end rant. I've never been here till last night. Never saw the before renovation but I like the new version. It reminds me of The Well but oh so smaller. Dark decor, plush sets, and low-lit lighting. I could do without the industrial music next door from Bar Sinister competing with Boardner's house music. Nothing like rocking out to The Cure and Skinny Puppy at the same time. The food is so melt in your mouth good! I sampled some seafood salad concoction and sweet potato fries with ranch! Oh my god I'm in love! Drinks were just as good. And I finally met Carrie!! She kept me company since I only knew one or two people at the birthday party last night. And this wasn't even a Yelp event! I even saw other Yelpers. It was like the celebrity Yelp event, if there was such a thing. And my whole fucking right side hurts this morning. My god where did those chicks drag me to last night after this place?!?!

Old school Holly-hood bar, cool to hang out with friends here, not much else. Being slightly off the main strip is a plus.

Hadn't been here in forever....read maybe 5 years? It's been revamped and is no longer the dive bar I remember. Added kudos for the fact that I ran into people I actually knew and that the bouncer is an ex marine. I just had drinks, but I hear rave reviews about the food. Next time I'll try it. Drinks were good, it was crowded but not obnoxious and service was excellent. I even met a couple of poker players. . . I'll be back.
