This is what pizza should be. I have what some may call a bit of a pizza addiction. I absolutely love pizza and eat it all the time. I have tried a ton of pizza places and this one is the best I've had since moving here from New York about a year ago. Throughout my journey of trying different pizza places, I have found just a few that resemble my taste of home. This pizza place however, does not just merely resemble NY pizza but it IS New York pizza. The owners are lovely people that really have a passion for what they are doing. They have been making pizzas forever and it shows. If you're ever in the Folsom area or driving through it I recommend pulling off the highway and grabbing a few slices.

Just moved here from LA and I've been trying to find a good pizza. I've been to every pizza joint in Folsom. Pronto's was by far, the best pizza I've had since moving to Folsom. The atmosphere is very cozy. There is lovely artwork on the walls. The owners are very sweet and helpful. I was able to follow them on Twitter to receive $5.00 off my order. I ordered a large thin crust cheese pizza, a small dinner salad and a beer. The pizza and salad were made fresh for me. Everything was so delicious. I've been to NY and Illinois and this pizza is far better than any pizza I had there. Happy to make Pronto's my go-to pizza shop. Thanks for the hospitality. Look forward to coming again.

Go here not nasty Dominicks. They served me, I paid. Unlike Domninicks they did not discriminate. They have nothing against me personally nor do they care if I am a 49ers Kapernick fan. Tasty food and prompt service. I will go back.

Yes, you'll get your pizza pronto, but is it worth sacrificing quality for speed? My brother dragged me to his pizza stop, telling me that it's fairly good. More like fairly average. This is why I'm older, and wiser than he. The pizza was just okay, I felt the toppings were skimpy, and the price was okay, but for about 5 pieces of pepperoni I don't think it's worth it. 3 star average.

It has been years since my last visit. Mind you it wasn't anything Pronto's did I just live too far away. The mrs wanted pizza and normally we get Pizza Guys but right before ordering Pronto's jumped in my head. So off I went for the 15 minute drive and the dining area was just as I remembered but they got rid of the TV. We ordered a large plain and it had a nice flour dusting on the crust and a bit of char underneath and wasn't hammered with cheese. This is pretty damn good example of NY style pizza and we were satisfied. Pronto's I promise I won't be such a stranger.

I moved to the Bay Area from New York almost 2 years ago. On my way back from Tahoe, I found this pizzeria and it is the ONLY pizza I've had in the state of California that tastes like an authentic New York slice. It reminded me of home and it is so delicious!!! The owners are wonderful people too!

I've been trying out the lesser known pizza spots in Folsom hoping to find the kind of pizza I like. I think they did a pretty good job with the thin crust pizza. However, I went in to pick up food two days in a row and things were a little different. Day one: Called in my order and requested to pick it up because I had noticed there was a $5 off of a large pizza if you checked-in. I assumed I'd have to actually be there for them to give me the $5 off. The male owner was short on the phone and ignored my request for white onions and used red onion instead. After I got there and checked-in the offer stated Mon-Thurs only. It was a Saturday. Great! I could have had it delivered. Now here is where I was bothered; the male owner had already made a bad impression by being rude on the phone. He came out of the back area and walked up to my pizza that was already made and was sitting in an open box and took it out to re-heat it without washing his hands. I am a little OCD and have taken and passed the Serv-safe course twice. But I kept calm and told myself the heat of the oven would kill any germs he may have deposited on the pizza from whatever he was doing in the back. And as I spoke to the young brunette in order to pay for my order; the male owner seemed to be making snide comments under his breath about our pretty general conversation. The two garden salads consisted of iceberg, red onion, tomato, black olives and shredded parm. With the dressing in a to-go container (on the side, without request. Standard with a take-out order in my opinion). Day two: I was still thinking about how yummy the salad from the day before was. I still had a few slices of pizza left. So I decided I'd stop in and pick up another salad. This time when I walked in the young brunette was replaced by the female owner. I had asked for two green salads to-go. She asked if I wanted small or large. I told her I had been there the day prior and wasn't given that option but that I had gotten my order to-go. After more under his breath comments from the male owner it was established that I had received large salads. So I got the same. This time they were mad differently. No parm, had croutons, dressing was poured onto salads. I'm not a crouton girl. I was taking these salads home for just myself so it would have been nice if the dressing was on the side again so that I didn't have to eat both salads in the same day to prevent wasted money on a soggy salad. Consistency is important in the food industry. If ppl get something they like; they'll come back for more. But when I come back just a day later and there are 3 changes to something as easy as a salad; I'm not okay with that. And I realize that in NY the "chef" stays in the pizza prep area and may not have very much interaction with customers (I'm giving the benefit of doubt although I've never been), in this case the kitchen, prep and cashier area is all shared so it wouldn't kill the male owner to at least try to fake it and say hello. Be friendly! Build report! A lot of ppl frequent places simply because they are treated well by the establishments employees. He can be as grumpy as he wants on the inside but it really is bad customer service when you let your customers see it. Hopefully the ladies of this establishment can get together and agree on how the salads should be served and Mr. Grumpy pants gets some happy pills cuz the pizza is pretty decent compared to most of what Folsom has to offer.

i continue to go to Prontos Pizza and felt that I needed to give them a shout out. Still an amazing place! The sauce they use is so good and the dough is light and tasty. Truly New York style. Love, love this place!

  • Robin B.

The pizza here is the by far the best the area has to offer!! We love the owner's, they always know us and our family by NAME. This is true thin crust, New York style pizza and the owner is from Italy, The sauce, crust and cheese is all authentic with a little spice that makes it so unique. We always treasure coming here to see Diane, the wife, she is so friendly and kind. They both work so hard and are really dedicated to their customers and this business. You must try Pronto's, it's truly addictive and you won't be disappointed. ")

Nice family restaurant , but they don't know how to make a calzone. They got a 2nd star for real cheese which the other local pizza places don't!! calzone has to be slit on the top to vent or will be a soggy mess as mine was. hours are a bit limited. and they are hard to find, we has a online promo was the only way we found them. Husband and wife team, Hubby appeared annoyed he had to go back into the kitchen and cook as we were there 15 min before closing.... Folsom does not have any good pizza places this one is not one of them but better than some others because they use real cheeses at least.

  • Manon D.

Best pizza in the Sacramento area, hands down! Since my kids found this place, our family will not go anywhere else. Note: It not a place to go for ambiance... just for picking up pizza or to have a bite. It is not a date night place!

  • Joel Y.

I'm glad to see Pronto's has established a steady clientele. They make great pizza and have done so ever since they took over this spot years ago. All my kids love this place, and if you have more than two you know what I mean. Finding a place that everyone likes is a rarity. That's how good the pizza is here!

This place is amazing we found it today looking for a little Caesars. Both our phones died so we were driving around looking for a pizza spot. As soon as we saw the slices in the window we knew this place was going to be amazing! My boyfriend and me always get half cheese Half meat. He HATES cheese pizza after we drove back to sacramento and ate the pizza he wanted to go back and get just a cheese pizza. The half all meat was amazing too everything we ate was. We will be back and excited to bring friends and family.

If you're looking for authentic east coast style pizza, eat here. It's amazing! We've had the cheese and the combo. Even the plain cheese (which I ordered for my 8 year old) was sooooo delicious. The dough is fantastic, and the sauce and toppings are just as good. I can't speak for anything else on the menu expect for the pizzas, but I'm sure they won't disappoint.

  • Chris N.

Their website has a section for delivery. When I called to order, the guy said they don't deliver, and seemed upset that I asked. What's that about?

    (2)
  • Mia C.

It is located in the shopping/movie complex opposite the Folsom outlets. Apparently, it is a family owned establishment. They are famous for their pizzas, so probably should have ordered it. The sandwich I got - Tuna and Provolone was very dry and nothing special.

  • Steve R.

This place was very odd from the start. I came in on a Friday at 8 pm. A little late for dinner I know, but come on its Friday night! We are the only people here. Before I order the pizza the lady tells me, we close at 8:30, but there's no hurry. What pizza place closes at 8:30 on a Friday night?! Anyways, we sit down and they have one tv in the whole place. What's on the tv you ask? TENNIS! It's the second round of the nba playoffs and they have tennis on the tv. So the pizza comes, and its cooked really well, almost perfect! The pizza as a whole was good, not worthy of a 5 star for me, but very good. As we're finishing up our pizza, a couple minutes before 8:30 the place is completely shut down, all the lights are off expect where we're sitting, the lady has here jacket on and is on her way out the door to warm the car up. The guy there is literally standing right by the front door with it open waiting for us to walk out so he can lock the door and leave behind us. So overall the pizza here was pretty good, but the experience was pretty weak. This is not the kind of pizza place you would come to if your looking to have some beer and pizza and watch a game.

Wow, impressed. This is real pizza! Tired of the fake tasting pizza guys and dominos, so we tried Prontos tonight. Very happy we found this little place. Planning on taking friends and family in for a sit down meal soon!

I have always been a fan of NY style pizza. I have been coming here for years. I recently visited NY, and yes, the pizza there is awesome. Upon return, I went to Pronto's to get a fair comparison...and YEP! This is as close as it gets! Nothing fancy, just a good, honest NY pie! Now if they only had zepollis!!!

    (4)
  • Mark S.

Came back here last night. Not sure if they changed their pizza recipe or if I just got an "off" pie. The crust was thicker and the pizza was less greasier than usual. More like a California pizza. I hope they did not succumb to peer pressure and alter the recipe.

I love the pizza here, I even tracel from Fair Oaks to here only for their Margarita pizza, is delicious. I don't know why many people don't know about this place, is delicious, the chef is Italian, so you are getting the real deal. Plus is a family owned business, i also appreciate this.

Is it Pronto's or Pronto Pizzeria? If it's the latter, the only PRONTO thing about this restaurant is how quickly their food ended up in the garbage. I LOVE pizza but this is THE worst I've ever had - no exaggeration. A middle aged brunette woman with short hair was working, alone. It was dead inside the restaurant and she seemed to have difficulty serving three customers, including myself. I ordered the Lunch Special, which included a slice of pizza, small salad, and a fountain soda for $5.38. The cheese pizza was pitiful, really. It looked like a weak slice of cardboard that had been sitting out for days. What really irked me was the fact that the woman was handling debit/credit cards, dollar bills, coins, AND preparing the food (without gloves) - not ONCE did she wash her hands. She's DISGUSTING. I chewed and swallowed two bites of the pizza, just to be able to leave a fair review. Horrible, seriously. Can someone enlighten me on how this restaurant is still in business? It baffles me. Little Caesars $5 Hot-N- Ready pizza is better than this trash, and that's not sayin' much. Don't waste your time.

first--Got ripped off with restaurant.com (watch out-- minimum purchase is not made clear)Then got ripped off by pronto pizza. The only thing good was the crust--certainly not the crusty old cranky guy who took my order. Did you find a horses head in bed this morning? He went from his computer to my pizza--didn't mamma tell you to wash your hands? ...26.00 for a pizza that was tasteless and small (for the price) The other folsom review was right..spend 5.00 on a frozen pizza for a better value and flavor. Who knew...fool me once..shame on me.... won't be fooled again!!

Congratulations Pronto's Pizzeria! You've won us over with your delicious thin crust NY style pizza and adorable owners. The two stopped at our table just to make sure we were enjoying our LARGE pepperoni pie. They even have a sweet lunch deal two slices and a soda for $6.00 OKAY! I know where I'll be going for my next pizza craving. Nom nom nom!

To start off this would have been a 3 or 4 star review solely based on the fact that when I called the first two times the phone went to a dial tone and only on the third attempt did I get through. Also When I went to pick the pizza up they were 10 minutes until closing but all signs were off and the store looked closed. However as we approached the door the gentleman inside who I assume is the owner ran up to hold the door for us and happily welcomed us in. From there on the customer service was great but most importantly the pizza was by far one of the best we've ever had. The toppings were fresh and the cheese and crust were amazing. My fiancé and I definately will be returning and would happily recommend them in the future.

This is great New York/Italian-American style pizza. I grew up eating at Italian family owned pizza in New York City 25+ years ago and this is comparible to the way they made pizza then. (These days in NY a lot of the original owners are gone and have passed the business on to relatives or sold to people with no real connection to how pizza should be made and/or are looking to make a quick $$. In short, quality has declined). Not all "New York pizza" is exactly the same, but the pizza and calzones at Pronto' are the way New York pizzerias of days-gone-by made them. If you are comparing Pronto's to Pizza Hut, Round Table, or any other chain pizza place don't waste your time. They don't make real pizza. Not saying it's bad or good food, you just can't compare them to the way a place like Pronto's makes pizza.

How could I have missed this place for five years? These guys are flying under the radar. It is very simple inside, but the food is fresh and very good. The owner is from the east coast and her husband is a chef from Naples (via Torino), Italy. We had the eggplant parm and the lasagna. Both homemade, clean tasting, delicious and fresh. They aren't into atmosphere. Its strictly comfortable seating and real food. Another couple quietly read a newspaper while they were waiting for their pizza. It looked tremendous! That is what I am trying next time. oh, and I read through the previous comments. Some one said they thought it was weird that their pizza was served with forks. They asked, "seriously? who eats pizza with a fork?" Well, my fellow Yelp reviewer, the entire country of Italy eats pizza with a fork. It's how they do it there. Pronto's pizza isn't Round Table, its really Italian style. My new favorite Italian restaurant in Folsom!!

Hours posted 11-8pm for Thursday. Walked up at 7pm and they were closed. Wish I could say it was good. But they closed earlier than posted. Bad business.

Good place to grab a bite. I had the wings and a pepperoni pizza. Let's start with the wings. Good wind good flavor. Not fried but baked which is fine but would set the wings to another level if they had the crunch of a fried wing. Blue cheese dressing not so good. As for the pizza tastes pretty good. Not to much sauce would be my only compliant I like saucy pizza in sure if you ask they would put more on. Service is a 10. I will eat here again. Worth a shot.

We attempted to order online from this establishment. We've never eaten there and saw that there were good reviews. After placing the order, it popped up that we were being charged a $6.75 service fee AND a $5.99 delivery charge. That's just under $13 on top of the price of the pizza. I've ordered many pizzas in my day and have never encountered this before. We immediately called to cancel and the employee hung up on us. We called back and another employee answered, ensuring us he was cancelling the order. Soon after, our credit card company called questioning fraudulent activity on our account from Prontos. They told us that the company never cancelled our order. You can't call Prontos directly. They vendor out the online delivery/ordering to Zuppler. After numerous calls, we were told the order would be cancelled. We'll see about that. As good as the pizza may be, it's not worth this. It took nearly an hour to resolve! Never again!

Amazing! We were driving through Folsom...and made a pitstop at the outlets which worked up an appetite so we yelped pizza and Pronto's Pizzeria came up. Great pizza! Even their plain cheese was great! My kid ate half of the pizza and she's only 1 1/2. So that's a lot for her! My husband and I initially were going to split a special but ended up ordering again because it was just so good! 2 slices and a drink for $5 what a deal!

Came across this place as a result of restaurant.com ----AWESOME! I ordered a small combination along with a slice of cheesecake and some eclairs. I loved the thin crust NY style, toppings were fresh and a good sauce. The cheesecake was very good as well (possibly homemade but not sure) and the eclairs were quite tasty. The only bummer is they were out of lemon bars (my fav)--the lady said she hadn't made any. That comment makes me want to come back and try them since they are probably homemade. The personality of the restaurant cries for upgrade, but it doesn't take away from the food. A 4.75 rating rounded to 5.

If you like NY pizza, this is the place for you. No frills, no fabulous dining room, no outrageous prices either. Just good, old-fashioned NY pizza. If you're looking for brick oven pizza then go to Masullo or One Speed.

From a former New Yorker, this is literally the closest to classic NY-Style pizza you can possibly find in Greater Sacramento. It is as good as getting a slice in the Bronx--not kidding.

Went to Prontos Pizza primarily because it was close to our hotel. When we showed up at 5:30ish there wasn't one other person in the restaurant . If you're looking for great ambiance this isn't the place for you. You would think with no customers the place would be spotless but the bathrooms could have used some attention. The pizza..... Although pretty good, was nothing to write home about. A slight step up from store bought if you ask me. 2 stars only because the pizza was actually pretty good, which is why we went.

  • Suzette C.

I was expecting more of this restaurant based on the Yelp star rating, however in my opinion this is a two star at best. The TV seems to be on for the owners benefit only and the ambience is not great. I would not recommend the chicken things at all. The pizza was good though and that is the most important thing. I feel if this restaurant worked on the atmosphere and added little touches (such as regular plates as opposed to paper) it would go a long way. Although it was not bad, I do not see us wanting to go back as there are many better choices out there.

I recently had an Client Appreciation Dinner at Prontos. The owners, Diane and Joseph were very accomodating to my large group and went out of their way to make sure everything was good. Everyone raved about the garlic bread, homemade meatballs and the pizza. If you are looking for a place to host an event, doesn't cost a lot and where you will pretty much have the space to yourself, consider hosting your event here on a Monday or Tuesday night.

It's really hard finding good pizza in Folsom. There are very few options and most of them are chain pizza places which get really tired. Pronto's is a breath of fresh air from the chains that seem to somehow all taste the same. The NY style pizza is my favorite and I love that I can actually fold it. My only complaint is that they don't offer coupons or specials. Other than that, this place is fantastic.

I recently re-discovered Pronto's - I had eaten their Pizza a dozen times after they opened a couple years back, and really liked it. Last week they catered lunch to our small office (20 people) and it was just as good as I remembered. I do want to qualify the rating above - Calling in and getting a whole pie to go, it has been a five star meal every time. But, eating in, they are a mom and pop operation and if they are busy, it CAN be painfully slow. Also, the by-the-slice option is hit or miss. If you are lucky enough to get your slice fresh from it's initial bake in the oven, you'll obviously be much happier than if they have to reheat one that's been sitting around for 45 minutes, but this issue is certainly not unique to Pronto's. There are a lot of glowing 5 star reviews of their pizza in Yelp, and for the most part I agree with every word in them. As to the folks who had a bad experience, I would urge them to give them another chance - but perhaps limiting their ordering as I've outlined above. You really are missing out on great Pizza - personally I think it's as good as any in the area, and better than most!

I am finally writing a review about my favorite pizza in Folsom- Pronto's. We used to live in Santa Cruz and "pizza by the slice" is very popular (pizza my heart) -- Pronto's is pretty close. I've never had pizza in New York but am told this is identical. I've gone here for many years and it's not only my favorite it's several of our neighbors (we live in the Natoma Station area). though by the slice is good for one, we usually order a full pizza and they will make it so that the four of us in our family are all happy, with 1/4 made differently for each of us. I've only had the pizza. I read some of the comments here and find it humorous that the critical reviews compare Pronto's to fast food pizza. really? if you need a place that has pictures on the menu and will sing happy birthday this isn't for you. but if you like getting to know the owners of where you eat and enjoy close to homemade food try Pronto's.

The food: Great. Ingredients are fresh and they don't skimp on the food. But...my lasagna was first microwaved in a plastic container. Then moved to a styrofoam container where Diane continued to microwave for another minute. Who microwaves plastic and styrofoam anymore?! Needless to say I only ate a small portion of the top of the lasagna. I'd prefer to leave the chemicals in the lab versus in my body. If they can improve upon their technique, this place would be awesome.

This place is exceptional. I work down the street and I eat here 3-4 times a week. It's affordable and great tasting. Pizza is such a touchy subject. Some people prefer thick crust, some prefer Chicago style, and others prefer thin crust. If you like simple, thin crust pizza this is your place. Simplicity is better. Try to avoid tons of toppings, it's not that kind of pizza. It's a small operation that is growing. There's is a lot of potential and it's nice to have the owners personally prepare your food and serve it. Pizza by the slice won't offer the freshest pizza experience but it's a great alternative to fast food. Take this place for what it is a great place to have a pizza and a beer for lunch or dinner. Sandwiches and lasagna are good too. My only criticism is the location. Doesn't really do the business any justice.

If you haven't tried Prontos N.Y. Pizzeria, you should! Four picky, picky eaters in our household agreed (a rarity with food AND movies, believe me!)...their pizza is awesome!

I wanted to like this place...in fact I was PRAYING it would be my pizza salvation. I like a thin, crisp brick oven style crust with generous toppings. The toppings I got were plentiful, but lacked taste. You could tell they were quality toppings, though. The crust was soggy mess because we had it delivered. I despise limp pizza. Overall, not a great experience. The owner WAS very nice, overall. I would have loved to have written a glowing review about how they are my new #1 go-to for pizza. Especially since they are mom & Pop and not a chain. Guess it just wasn't meant to be. I am still searching for THE perfect pizza for me in the Folsom area. :(

The best pizza you'll find in Sac. I'm from NY and am used to great pizza and this is pretty good. Miles ahead of the round Table and native CA places. My favorite pizza is just chese with anchovies. Most of the time, I hope for something spicy so I have him (it is always the husband cooking) add a little bit of Tobasco. Best of all, you can fold the pizza in half, like a taco, and eat it the way it is supposed to be. There is just something to the dough and its flavor that make this pizza amazing. I've also had their stomboli on a different visit. It is basically like a calzone. It's also really yummy! The dough is just amazing. They have sandwiches and other stuff that looks really good too!

I really enjoy this pizza. My favorite pizza places in Sacramento are Luigi's on Stockton Blvd., Roma's on Folsom Blvd., and Pronto's in Folsom. This place has the thin crust style I relish and fresh toppings...True NY style.

OK, I get it. You're from NY and you like to eat the same style of pizza you had growing up. You're in California now, and here we don't just assume that something is better because that's the way they do it in NYC. We have free markets here too, and if the market demanded this type of pizza, it would be available all over the place. Don't insult us by suggesting that because we're in California, we'll eat whatever bad pizza they serve up. Some of us have traveled and are aware that there are many ways of making pizza. This is OK pizza. There's something interesting about it, crispy on the bottom, which is nice, but it's not all that great, kinda boring and salty really. By the time we finished the last two slices, it wasn't crispy on the bottom anymore. Soggy. Yech! They brought out the pizza and set it on the table . . . with, OMG . . . FORKS! Other than Donald Trump, who in New York would ever eat pizza with a fork?! One nice thing about it: It's not crowded! Does that tell you anything? You want decent pizza by the slice? Go down the road to WinCo. It's actually pretty good, even if it doesn't remind you of your youth in NY. Or if you want really great pizza, an interesting dining experience, (and a crowd of people), go a little further to Chicago Fire.

Pronto is a cool little spot. Nothing fancy on the decor, but the guy in the kitchen was speaking Italian. That's a good sign. I had the Ziti. The portion was big and the taste was authentic. The staff was friendly.

Pizza has a ton of flavor on a crispy thin crust, they deliver promptly and it's family owned. Doesn't get much better.

I had the pleasure of being a regular at the Bay Area Pronto's for over 10 years until they sold the store and moved up to this area. And now, I'm excited as heck to see the "new" Pronto's reborn, right here in Folsom! Without a doubt, one of the BEST NY Style pizzas you'll find ANYWHERE. The sub-style sandwiches are to die for as well. I even called first to make sure it was the same owners I know from before, and thank God, it is!! Run, don't walk, to Pronto's if you're a fan of NY pizza. It gets no better than Pronto'.

I actually really liked this place. I went here after having the stomach flu, looking for something very thin, and very light. The pizza is exactly just that! The dough is awesome, and the cheese has great flavor ( although some pieces a bit salty?). The owners we're friendly, and the location was easy to find parking. The only thing I would change about this place, that it is so very "ma" and "pa-ish". I think that's gonna be the death of them. If they would liven up the place, put some pictures on the wall, maybe a bar? I'm sure they will see a major improvement in business.

Best pizza in the Sacramento area I have seen in 20 years. I have from Boston, and if you like Boston-type pizza, then this is the place to go.

If great NY style pizza made by an Italian family is what you are looking for EAT HERE! It was so surprisingly delicious. If atmosphere is important to you go elsewhere.

Great food at a great price. I had lasagna and a beer for dinner. The meal came with a nice salad and bread.

Wonderful Pizza, and we are pretty picky about our pizza. We especially liked the combination. The owners are really nice people too.

My wife found a great coupon / gift cert online and we decided to give Pronto Pizza a try. Took a moment to find, and the location isn't all that inspiring, but not a huge deal. But I'll be honest about something here. Even though I was a little put off by a decision made with the product, I still liked it and I really liked the couple that owns/runs the place. We had a couple strombolis, which were delicious, but the sauce was much spicier than we cared for. Honestly though, every thing else was great about it except for the heat. (What can I say? I really don't like overly spicy stuff in general, especially my pizza) The lady owner (forgot her name, sorry!) stopped by and asked how everything was. Told her the above "Great, but too spicy". We had a discussion about this, and she said they're currently put tabasco in their red sauce. Said that we didn't care for that, and she admitted that others didn't either and they were either going to change it, or at least give folks the option of tabasco or not up front. While the menu didn't make this clear, you can create your own custom calzone however you like... from what the menu seemed to state there was just one choice. Am glad to know I'm wrong there, because next time we stop by I'll be creating one. :-) By the way, do recall being impressed watching the husband working on making dough and then a pizza. He obviously was putting a lot of care into his product; something you don't always see these days.

I ordered the veggie pizza after reading the good reviews. This was the worst pizza I have ever had. I have tasted better gas station pizzas than the travesty I was presented with today. On the plus side, there were plenty of vegetables, but there was very little sauce. The worst part of the pizza was the soggy mushy center. This texture reminded me of a frozen pizza that was baked on top of the cardboard insert. I am glad other people have had better experiences, but this was the first and the last time that I will order from this place.

Gave this another two tries in and came earlier this time. Place was busy. There are 7 four tops and a large table for a group. TV runs uninterrupted but it is behind a bar so you can't change the channel and has old sports on. The bar is not used either for alcohol or coffee. It is for parties? The owners are pleasant. There is draft beer, salad, pasta, pizza etc. We paid approx $45 for two large pies (one cheese) , a salad, a coke and a beer. It is located in a strip mall near the "old theaters" in Folsom. Parking is not a problem as the nearby businesses are mostly day businesses except for Hilton Garden Inn, a restaurant and the theater. If you are staying there at the hotel, it is a great location. Pizza was thin style and delicious. Made to order and served hot. There are a wide variety of bottled water, Gatorade type drinks etc. When I eat this pizza I say 5 stars if it is fresh. The reason for the four stars is the ambiance is lacking and it takes awhile if you come in during busy times. If you are busy and want great pizza do take out and grab it right when it is done.

I guess i just didn't get it. I thought the NY style pizza was ok but nothing to write home to mom about. I prefer spicier pizza sauces and this was a pretty boring type pizza. I had a coupon and thought I'd try this place out, not too impressed. I don't think it was even worth the trip or the tip that was left. The owners seemd nice enough, but again, I doubt that I'll be gong back there to eat. My husband stops there once in the while to get just aslice of pizza and a soda for lunch. He seems to think it's ok. So maybe it's me. There were other items on the menu ie. lasagna, pasta etc. Can't rate those as I ddin't have any of them. I did have a green salad which consisted of iceberg lettuce, a few croutons, tomatoes, and italian dressing. Pretty much what I would have expected at this place. I think I'll be trying some new pizza places out next time.

So happy to have a pizza by the slice place nearby(ish). Even better that the pizza is actually good! The thin crust is kinda dry and crisp on the bottom, but soft on the top. (no clue if that's NY style like they claim, but that's how I see it). I tried the pasta once, it was OK (hubby does it best), a pinch overcooked I thought, but certainly nothing I would complain about. The garden salad (I love garden salads) is really big, but its just bagged iceburg lettuce, a small slice of onion, a couple cherry tomatoes and a sliced black olive or two. Oh, and a pepper that I don't like (not jalapeno, but like that). I found the Italian dressing to be bland, and the ranch dressing to be more like a thick dip than a dressing. No croutons. Decor needs a bit, its kinda bare bones at the moment. But I think it's a great place to go before or after a movie at the nearby cinema, or just for a bite to eat anytime.

If you aren't from New York and a snob about your pizza, this place is pretty good. The restaurant itself isn't really anything special, but I really liked the pizza. Hand stretched thin crust with a good amount of cheese, tasty sauce and a nice bake. What more could you want? Plus it's a family run place so go here before going to Papa John's or Domino's. I was picking up my pizza at the end of their night and the teenage son went up and kissed his dad good night before he left....anyway, I assume (and really hope) it was his son...but you get my point...support your local businesses.

I was looking for good food around the Folsom outlets area and found this place on yelp. I usually don't eat pizza but my friends and I were starving. I ordered their seafood pizza, I can't remember the name of it but it was super delicious! The owner is really nice and she was telling us about how she moved out of the Bay Area because it was too crowded. We also ordered a small order of breadsticks and since we had a large group she gave us extra. We were on the way home from Tahoe and the breadsticks help out the car sick individuals a lot!!

As good as everyone says it is! Chose this place on our way to South Lake Tahoe based on the reviews. Ordered Caesar Salad & vegetarian pizza. Instead of artichokes, we got chicken. All very very good.

Pronto's pizza is by far the best pie in California! If you want real NY Pizza you have to check this place out. Everything on the menu is real authentic Italian New York style. The Calzones are out of this world, but the the Eggplant Parm has always been one of my all time favorites. Joe and Diane will make you a special Pizza with garlic and tomatoes that is the best Pizza I ever had. Take from a true New Yorker, this is the only spot in California with real New York pie.

The pizza was great! The portions are large. We got a small pizza for two and it was plenty. The only negative and it wasn't with the place, was the restaurant.com certificate we bought. We got a $10 certificate for $4 but to use the certificate we had to spend $20 (no problem there) and there was an 18% gratuity added. The problem we order at a counter and the only thing they brought to us was our pizza so normally we won't tip on this type of place so the restaurant.com certificate only saved us like $1.50. Again the pizza was great and the staff/owners were more than helpful.

I was looking for an amazing pizzeria but instead, I found Prontos. I feel bad rating so poorly, but the pizza is just not good. It has no flavor whatsoever. Luckily, the owner is really nice (his wife is super quiet and didn't bother to heat up my pizza) and the place is clean. Also, the price is pretty awesome. They served my food quickly and seriously, the guy's awesome. There's a 'free cats' sign on the door that kind of turns me off though. Seriously...take that down.

Check out Pronto Pizza located right behind the Hilton Garden Inn hotel. The owner is right from Italy and made some of the best pizza west of New York. We went with 25 people for pizza and we could not believe the price and quality of their food. It ws so good the next night we all went back for pasta and meatballs The freshly made (that day!!) sauce was so good I felt like my grandmother was in the kitchen. The day we left to go home my husband stopped in one more time for their lunch special. Chicken Parm with potato salad and a drink - - - - -$ 5.00. Subway costs more than that. This place is a treasure. Check it out and support one of the few mom and pop establishments in the area.

Best pizza in Folsom without a doubt. The interior and decoration is spartan at best, the food is awesome. Would love to see this kind of pizza in a nice setting.

Thin crust isn't my favorite kind of pizza, but this place is pretty darn good. The crust is unusually crispy which really makes it stand out. The toppings are solid, and the price for lunch is two slices + a soda for $5. This is definitely preferred over the deals at other local pizzerias I've tried so far, and better tasting than the bargain stuff at Winco/Costco.

This place is so great! The pizza is delicious and the prices are totally reasonable. They also offer a full dinner menu. I tried the special - linguine with clam sauce - and it was really, really good. The owners are really friendly and the place is really cute. Definitely go check it out!

Growing up in NY I consumed pizza at least once a week and, for many years, on an almost daily basis. With the amount of competition for business in NY, if you don't make a good pizza you are out of business quickly, hence most of the pizza parlors in NY are quite good (I do not consider any chain pizza outlet, e.g., Round Table, Mountain Mike's, etc. to even be considered a maker of pizza - they just throw together ingredients that a real pizza should have but have no idea of how to do it with the love and attention that a good pizza deserves). Which brings me to Pronto Pizza (I hate this name because it makes it sound like "fast food" with all the negative connotations associated with it). Anyway, the owners of Pronto Pizza used to work for Mama Nardi's which, if you are a NY pizza aficionado, you will remember as the best pizza to ever show up in the Sacramento area (Pronto is located in the same store that Mama Nardi's was). When I walked in I immediately recognized the very nice lady proprietor and exclaimed, "You're back, that's great!" I ordered a mushroom pie, salad and a soda. The salad is nothing to write home about (iceberg lettuce with some olives, onions and salad dressing) but the pizza... HOORAY!!! PERFECTION!!! Thin, firm crust, a perfect balance of crunch and softness; the tomato sauce spread thin with a slight sweetness, the right type of mozzarella cheese with just the right amount (enough to cover the top without overwhelming the other elements of the pizza) and a smattering of mushrooms so that they added to and didn't overwhelm any of the other elements of the pizza. A way to tell when you have a good pizza is by how much you use condiments. Generally, the worse a pizza the more you add parmesan or pepper flakes to compensate for the deficiencies of the pie. I did not add anything to this pie because it came out of the oven perfect, as is. I'm not a shill for these folks, just a NY pizza lover (snob?) so I want to see these folks stay in business. Check them out, you'll be doing your pizza palate a huge favor and help to support my own ongoing pizza addiction. Thank God we no longer have to drive over to the Bay area to get a high quality pizza. Enjoy...

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
