Rita’s Margaritas & Mexican Grill Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

The vege burrito was uneatable. I sent it back and they didn't charge. Oily overcooked and not pleasant. My wife's burrito was ok but the taco trucks serve tastier food.

I'm suprised Ritas has expanded as far as it has. It is not by my opinion Mexican food. I thought their shrimp burrito tasted dirty..because they do not clean the shrimp's guts..so my whole burrito tasted like the bottom of an ocean.

Ok,so they dont do the AAA discount anymore, but, still, it is good. This is the newest Rita's. It was very good. I did think the service was a bit slow for an empty place. We arrived at 4pm. Anyways, the empty place soon got half full at 4:30 so, it is popular. Our waiter was super nice. and the food, oh yeah, I had a Torta Sandwich. With Carne Asada. Super yummy. Never had one. Need another one. Hubby had his usual combo plate with black beans, enchilada and chili relleno. All good, fresh and hot.

If yelp allowed it i would of given Rita's zero stars. The service my wife and I experienced was soo bad we'll never go back. Our server didn't even come back to our table after the food was served, we had to actually go up and ask for a box and our check 15 mins after we were done.

My mom and I went to lunch hoping for a good experience. We have tried all the other Rita's in town (except this one) before and have enjoyed our meals. The lunch time crowd was VERY BUSY. The staff was VERY SLOW and the food was mediocre. EVERY TABLE was packed and we had to wait (which is fine) but even when the crowd cleared a bit, the staff took forever to clean off the tables. It took nearly 10 minutes AFTER we were seated to have someone come over to our table with chips & salsa...Then it was another 10 minutes before the waiter came over. The bar is limited on "On-Tap" beer...NO Dos XX!!! All the other Rita's carry it?!?!? Anyhow, I won't go back to this Rita's...I will continue to go to the one in Arcata.

We enjoyed our dinner here. It was not crowded on a Saturday night around 8. The service was all right throughout the evening - we had to seat ourselves and ask for a drink menu, but our server was friendly and brought us everything we needed. The chips and salsa were all right - I mean, probably the best salsa I've had from a syrup dispenser (which was disconcerting but tasted fine!). The margaritas were pretty good and I liked the fully customizable options for the drinks (including the option of cinnamon dusting for the rim, although I'm not sure that would actually be good). In fact, the whole menu had a customizable flair, which I love - you could choose any type of meat for many items, and they had a wide variety of meats - in addition to the usual carnitas, carne asada, and various chickens, there was barbacoa, chile verde pork, chicken tinga, chile colorado, san antonio beef (braised beef, which was a favorite), and many more - and also a bunch of vegetarian options! So that was great. The combination menu is not that complete, but most of the items are also available a la carte for reasonable prices. I would definitely come back.

this review is being created by myself, grandma, and don we had a terrible experience at Ritas on harris street. we meaning grandma and I had to try Ritas again this time 5th street the food was 3 times better .... and the service was 1000 times better not to mention how much cleaner this one is. not to mention our server roman was amazing he payed great attention to customer satisfaction are drinks never ran dry and neither did the chips. my grandma said their has to be something we can complain about (jokingly) .... but their is nothing to complain about .... once again amazing

Tried out the baja fish taco special. The fish looked like it came out of the freezer section at costco ala pub battered fish. The taco was topped with diced cabbage that was dry due to sitting under a heat lamp too long. The taco came with two small tortillas side by side with the fish stick laying in the middle. I am not sure who came up with this special but it was awful. This fish taco was the worst i have ever had. I will stick with fish tacos elsewhere.

My family went here one evening and had such a great time! The atmosphere was extremely pleasant, the food was fresh and delicious, and the drinks were exquisite. I, myself, had a mango margarita...WOW! Fresh tasting, blended perfectly (no ice chunks at all!!) and the RIGHT amount of liquor. Thank you Rita's! Also love seeing your fresh made burritos/salsa in supermarkets around Humboldt :)

Rita's is good and I like it... but it's not great, and I don't love it. The problem is that this is true for a lot of the Mexican restaurants in the area. They all have something different that I like about them. At Rita's, I like that they have pineapple in their al pastor. Anyway, if you were in the area and looking for a Mexican restaurant, Rita's is one of only two places I would suggest. It won't be something you'd write home about, but both their food and their service are consistently solid. My experiences there have always been good.

It's been a couple of years since I've eaten here, and I have no plan to depart from this trend. Let me explain. I took my wife for lunch, as it's downtown and right by the office. Plus a Mexican restaurant with the word "Maragritas" in the name can't be all bad, right? Granted, I'm reaching back in my memory a couple of years, but it seems the chicken enchiladas were average, though on the overly sauced side. My wife had a carnitas burrito which she didn't finish -- but not for lack of apetite. The food was unremarkable, but not bad. Now the kicker: After receiving the check and placing the credit card in the little leather folder thingy we're then abandoned for about 10 minutes. So I walk it up to the counter to pay, at which time I present the coupon entitling us to 2-for-1 meals. Well, the older lady ringing up our bill (was this Rita?) just completely loses it, loudly and rudely scolding us in front of the entire restaurant for not presenting the coupon *before* ordering. (The coupon was otherwise perfectly valid.) I was sort of humiliated, but mostly I was just like, "Look, either honor the damned thing or don't honor it, but don't cause a big freaking scene, lady." Incidentally, the coupon didn't specify as to when it was to be presented. Aside from her flat-out rudeness (which bumped what would have been a three-star review down to one) what is it with presenting the coupon before you pay? Seriously, I'd like to know what made her so angry. The only conclusion I can reach is that a coupon tips them off to give you a smaller portion and/or leftovers.

Ritas is good. Never have had a bad experience here. Salsa is not my favorite in the area but is good. Great veg options. Always a friendly staff and great booze selections for margaritas Try a blackberry.

How I miss Rita's vegetarian chorizo burritos on a lazy day off since moving from Eureka. To be honest, the only things I've tried on the menu are variations on the vegetarian burrito, but I can say that this is the #2 best burrito I've ever had, 2nd only to some place in Orange County where no one spoke English and the beans were definitely full of lard. Best Mexican food north of S.F.!

When I first moved to Humboldt from New Mexico almost three years ago, finding "good" Mexican food was a challenge. I was so accustomed to the flavors I found in my favorite restaurants back home that I didn't like anything I had up here, including at Ritas. Except for the Baja Fish Tacos. Those tacos were so delicious that I would forgo all my complaining about local cuisine for them. After a few years, my pallette has changed. And Rita's flavors have become more interesting for me. I work near the Rita's on 5th, so going for a quick lunch is a great way for me to continue exploring their expansive menu options. I always get my food in time to eat and make it back to work. While I was skeptical at first, this place has really grown on me, if you're not I food snob like I was you'll get to enjoy it sooner than I did! Now when I go back home, I look for different options at my favorite places. Rita's has helped me to open my eyes to all the great ways Mexican food can be prepared!

This place was a sight for tired eyes! After a long drive down from Portland through the Redwood Forest, me and the man were hungry and tired. Not wanting to go far from our hotel, we stumbled upon this Rita's location. The margaritas were cheap, big, and delicious. The chips were hot and tasty. The chips at the Mexican restaurants I have been to in Portland have been disappointingly stale and blah. This was a welcome change. I had the chicken quesadilla and it was great. The chicken had been marinated in some sort of delicious sauce, adding a nice flavor that you don't always get in a quesadilla. Who knows when I will be in Eureka again, but I will definitely recommend this place to anyone who is going there in the future.

My wife and I were looking for an open local restaurant in downtown Eureka after 8 PM on a weeknight. They are few and far between. The food is good, the staff was friendly and they were open until 9 PM!

    (3)
  • Leabeth P.

My husband and I were very pleased with ritas. The service was really good, they kept hot tortilla chips and salsa in front of us for our whole meal, and they have fantastic daily drink/meal deals. The house margarita was delicious, and the food was hot. The proportions weren't too much either. It is a tad spendy, but I would say very much worth the couple of extra bucks. Worth going to!

  • Robert K.

Great food as the other locations. Nice remodel, the parking lot often gets too full.

  • Jim S.

This place is consistently impressive, with fresh, high quality, traditional recipes. Cant believe that guy gave it 2 stars because they didnt update their hours on yelp. What a dick!

  • Drake W.

The food is wonderful. Yes there seems to be a different feel to each Rita's location. I know from experience you get the same type food at both Harris St and 5th Street locations in Eureka. My review comes from experience in working in Mystery Shopping industry who reviews and writes reports on restaurants for a living as my second job. The service is great at both locations. It does seem cleaner at the 5th Street location than the Harris Street. Possible remodel could make it better!! But either way, both are great service. If food does take long, there is a good reason, it takes time to prepare. It is different than any other Mexican restaurant in town. This review is my experience of over 10 times, and not just one trip. All the times have been very good. They do pay attention to detail on service and food.

Lots of locals consider Rita's to be the best Mexican food in Eureka, for good reason. They've got an extensive menu, lots of options, and great, friendly service. I frequently pick up a burrito there for lunch. It's an especially good option for vegetarians, because you can order veggies or a couple different kinds of tofu on just about anything. Full bar, great selection of drinks. Yes, they can get busy as other reviewers have said, but I go there a lot and I would say that nine times out of ten I get seated immediately and served quickly. There are three locations in Eureka and one in Arcata. Everybody has their favorite of the various locations--this one just happens to be the most convenient for me but I've eaten at all of them and they're all good.

    (4)
  • Elizabeth S.

Excellent. First Mexican restaurant I've been to that treats tofu as a possible meat dish --- the vegan chorizo tofu burrito was huge and tasty and arrived in a timely manner. I was impressed at the number of vegan options on this menu. My husband is still raving about a chicken taco he had and my son was similarly impressed. EXCELLENT ALL AROUND.

  • Gavin M.

Ritas is always pretty good. Everyone who works there is polite and the new location they moved to across the street is nice. The only thing is it'd be nice is they gave you a little salsa with takeout orders. Other than that(which isn't really bad at all), the place is great.

    (4)
  • Stephen M.

Worst service I've ever experienced, even for humboldt. The food here is definitely not very good. The reviews of this place all take into consideration its about one of 3 mexican restaurants in the area. And its definitely not the best. It took me 30 minutes before they even brought us menus. The restaurant was not even busy. My suggestion is go to La Chapparita or Luzmillas both are much better and realize service is an important part of the dining experience.

  • Nick G.

Highly recommend! Food is always fast, fresh, and very friendly! Been coming here for years! We love the salsa, chicken, shredded beef, carnitas and margaritas! Def our favorite local Mexican spot!

    (5)
  • MacKenzie D.

Have been a long time of Rita's but it's gone down hill fast. Service is awful, food is boring and lacks flavor, and more times then once my order is messed up and I have to ask more then once for items missed. Plenty of better Mexican restaurants in town.

    (1)
  • Susanna Z.

Called in to go order was told it would be fifteen minutes. Showed up, waited another 45 minutes. Then was told it wasn't here. Even though it had already been paid for. Waited another fifteen minutes, finally got sloppy burrito. Too many chances with this place. Never going back.

  • Eva H.

I came when they first opened the fifth street location, ordered vegan tamales. The options listed on the menu are meat, vegetarian, and vegan. They served tamales with cheese, and when I pointed out the problem I was told that vegan tamales do not exist, despite then being listed on the menu. Years later, I went back. It's still on the menu and still does not exist. Guys, it's not okay to serve cheese to vegans. I've had some other vegan options there, usually with alterations. It's possible, but given the active and ongoing misuse of the language, it's hard to trust. I can't remember liking anything in particular. I've regretted the chorizo tofu a few times.

Best Mexican restaurant in eureka!! #78(fish tacos)... Delicious! Tamales are great! Enchiladas are delicious!! Salsa is yummy! Everything is great!!!

Great service and good food. You can tell this is a local spot. Definitely get the cadillac margarita.

    (3)
  • Lisa B.

Went here for cinco de mayo. Very unorganized restaurant. Took more that 10 min to get our chips and salsa, and another 10 for our menus, and another 20 to order our food. Not to mention more than 15 min to get our pitcher of margaritas. This place needs some structure for sure.

    (2)
  • Brian W.

Absolutely the worst service in town. Sat down and waited for 10 minutes before my girlfriend went up to the front to grab menus. The waiters were watching YouTube videos, all three of them. We left.

    (1)
  • Cindee C.

The food is just ok, and service is lacking when they are busy. No drink refills, they ran out of rum for a pina colada, but instead of asking if we would like a different drink, brought it over and said they would charge less. If we wanted a virgin drink we would have ordered one. They took away the salsa mid meal, and never brought a second basket of chips we asked for. Had to ask for silverware.

Pretty lame excuse for a Mexican Restaurant. Our food was prepared a la microwave and the Margarita's tasted more like rubbing alcohol than tequilla.

  • Genevieve M.

I love Mexican food and Rita's did not disappoint. I came in to celebrate a friends birthday and had an amazing time. Our waiter was patient and friendly, our food came out quickly and was delicious. There was one mistake when a friend and I received chicken enchiladas when we requested cheese but the mistake was fixed quickly, politely and without hassle. Also the build your own margaritas menu was so fun!

    (4)
  • Chad M.

Great burritos. I'm not sure about the Mexican food. ;) My girlfriend and I love this place. We come from out of town and always stop here. Margaritas are pretty good too. They charge for a 2nd basket of chips? I don't think that happened to me b4.

    (5)
  • Jason R.

Not impressed with this place. The pork meat did not taste very good. I would rather go to Aztec Grill in Chevron as I have had much better food there. Did not even save my leftovers which is rare for me. The server was nice. The place stinks like dirty socks. Sorry but they really should not have any carpet inside a restaurant because it holds in the awful sickening odors.

  • T C.

Went here for lunch and we were beyond disappointed. I ordered the Baja burrito which was full of French fries but very little fish or flavor of any kind. I must of read the menu wrong as I thought the fries were on the side, I ended up leaving almost the whole burrito on my plate after eating just the fish. I opened it up and took out the fries but it still tasted like a piece of cardboard. I had no intention of asking for it to be removed off the bill but did expect the server or owner who was sitting next to us to ask if there was something wrong so as to correct for future customers. But neither did. I will never go to any Rita's again, the food and service is no good, they are overpriced and I get the feeling with all the people coming and going that they're not really in the food business anyway.

    (1)
  • Heather F.

Absolutely love Ritas! I have grown up eating their food! Tonight though we have been here for an hour for a birthday and we have yet to get our food! The chips have been magically never ending though! And the food is always good!!!

I have tried this establishment on two occasions since moving here a few months ago. Both times it was a dismal failure. The service was slow. The chips were stale the salsa tasted like it came from the back of a grocery store shelf covered in dust with no attention to it. The first time I had the fajitas they neglected to bring me tortillas. The meat was overcooked and it wasn't even cut straight it was like a child had a plastic knife and ripped the meat apart in random directions. It had little to no flavor. Even after a healthy dose of salt pepper and Tapatia salsa it was barely edible. When commenting to the waitstaff of the poor quality of the food they just shrugged their shoulders and said "really"? For my children I ordered a quesadilla and rice and beans and the rice was overcooked and the refried beans appeared to have sat under a heat lamp for an extended period of time the beans were covered in a yellow cheese that was unappetizing. Mexican food should not have yellow cheese melted anywhere on it. I was invited by coworkers to dine there a second time. Being social I agreed. I had two different types of tacos and I don't ever want to experience this restaurant again for any reason. It is almost like they don't want anyone to ever come back into the restaurant again.

  • Sasha R.

No, Nada, Never Again. Terrible take out service. The stuff looks bad, taste bad and left us popping TUMS. We keep trying hoping to get a good meal but no luck ... saving the Mexican food hankering for the taco truck down on Broadway or on Myrtle!

    (1)
  • Wayne H.

Im from San Diego and this is most likely the best mexican food in Humboldt county I've yet to try but it still lacks a kick authentic mexican food has. The "spicy" salsa has a good flavor to it. The carne asada and adobada needs help with the marinade but the carnitas were spot on. However another point about the service was amazing as well. I'll definitely be back again.

    (4)
  • Michael A.

Service was OK not great, Margarita was OK, not great and the food was below average. No taste to the food, sort of bland. The booths are small, I would recommend sitting at a table wit chair.

    (2)
  • Tina W.

I have had numerous unpleasant experiences here in the past but tonight was a welcome change! The service was great and Rita was sitting in the corner this evening and walked around and checked on all the customers. I had heard there was an issue with their liquor license, but they were serving margaritas tonight and they were excellent. I had the enchiladas and they were very tasty. I hope they continue with this service and I will come back for another try

  • Mike A.

Yep, this just happened... Rita's on 5th, that was the last straw... never again. I call in an order for a Mole Burrito with carne asada and NO BEANS, they ask me twice, I made it clear. I also order a #10 with carne asada. They tell me 10-15 minutes, so i go in 15 minutes later. I get told they haven't made it yet. I sit and I wait. My mom is with me, and we start talking. I watch 6 servers and 6 tables with customers. One of the tables has 4 maybe 21 year old girls in makeup and all giggles. The servers are circling like sharks or vultures around this one table, ignoring the other customers. Then a server 5 minutes later asks us if we want to sit down at a table and order? I tell them no, I ordered to go. They look confused... then we get ignored for another 10 minutes... I watch these 'servers' as they make look busy, heads turned straight at these girls, leering the entire time. Now this behavior I don't care about, but they obviously had more time on their hands than they needed... I finally get my order, and pay and leave, go home, open food. Beans in the Mole burrito. I call them tell them they messed up, they said "oh, ok, we can't really do anything about it... so sorry. I wrote it down, it says no beans.". I then make it very clear how I will never patronize their business again and why. I suggest you all do not go to Rita's on 5th ever. Worst service I've ever had in a restaurant. And this wasn't even the first time this kind of behavior happened with the 5th street Rita's.

New lunch menu very deceptive.. Says lunch includes rice and beans..soup or salad and fountain drink or ice tea..however after I ordered I was told its rice and beans or soup or salad..very different.. I was told they knew the menu was incorrect but used them anyway..fraud..false advertising.. Just beware this place has changed..not for the better

  • Stephanie R.

The food here is really really good and offers some lighter/healthier options which is nice! This is the first Mexican restaurant in Eureka Ive tried and I'd come back! The reason I gave a 4 star review and not a 5 is because of the service. We waited awhile for our food to come out, probably longer than normal. The restaurant had a private party in the back room that backed them up a bit. I think if the party had not been going on, our service would have been quicker. Overall, the food is great and the staff is friendly and accommodating! Worth the wait tonight!

  • Tony C.

Was recommended to us by a local but unfortunately wasn't too impressed. Service sucked. Let me take that back. Sat immediately and immediately brought water and chips and salsa by hostess but a waiter didn't show for an honest 10-12 min. When he did finally show he just said "what will you have?" He didn't say "hi" or anything. We ordered. I got a beer. It took another 6 min to arrive. Food did come out quick. It wasn't bad. Waiter never checked on us. I'm currently writing this review while waiting for our waiter to even stop by to check bc I've been waiting to ask for another beer for a solid 12 minutes. Now I'm over it and ready for check bc the rest of my party is finished. (It's a Sunday night at 730, they are busy but not That busy). Maybe a fluke tonight, not sure. Others in my party liked their food but it wasn't enough to rave about.

  • Trinity S.

I usually love eating at Rita's but the service has been so ridiculously slow the last few times we've been in & it wasn't even that busy. Not to mention the kitchen forgot half of my order. My bf had finished his entire plate before my rice & beans came out. I had to flag down our waiter twice to no avail. Luckily there is one waiter that seems to always be on the ball & he went back to the kitchen & brought the rest of my dish out to me & apologized. Rita's needs to hire about 5 more employees like him. We probably won't be returning for a while as eating at Rita's seems to set us back at least an hour and a half when we have errands to run in Eureka. I hate leaving this review b/c the food is so good & I love that they have mojitos.

    (2)
  • Robyn S.

Service is slow. Good chips and sauce but they charge you for your second basket of chips. The kitchen is super loud and distracting. But the food is good and big portions

    (3)
  • Stormy B.

I went here today for the second time ever and I was beyond disappointed. The service was slow. Waiters just walked around and kind of just forgot about you after you sit down. Chips and salsa were good. Probably the best part of my meal. When I got my meal (carnitas) there was a thick one inch black wavy hair on top of my beans! So disgusting. They took my plate away and made me another one BUT the manager didn't even come and talk to me! No discount. No sincere apology. Nothing. This place had potential but they just kind of ruined it for me. Will not return.

  • C S.

Food is OK, service is TERRIBLE! Rita herself was wandering around the restaurant and taking money out of the cash drawer and drinking at the bar while we waited an hour for our food. She was as uninterested in the customers as the disinterested staff. The waiter ignored us, could not catch anyone's eye. Another time our waitress did not speak enough English to answer a question. My brother's Spanish was necessary to get our order in. Carmela's in Arcata is MUCH better. Good food and great service and they said they will be opening in Eureka soon. YAY!

    (2)
  • Walter B.

This place sucks and so does the help, The price's are too high for what little bit you get, they don't come see if you need anything the whole time we was there, not polite at all. Out of all Mexican restaurants I ever ate at this would be the worst.

    (1)
  • Isamar V.

Food is decent. The only thing I like are the Baja fish tacos but they are pretty pricey. The chipotle potatoes option is best if you're vegetarian but last time I ordered the potatoes they were really dry. I go for margaritas once in a while and its honestly a hit or miss. Sometimes they're really good other times really watered down. I would give it a 3.5 if I could but I give it a 4 for it's happy hour and putting up with my crazy friends and me.

    (4)
  • Steve J.

Best Mexican food i love the place we go there every week or sometime twice week taco salad is great and number 25 on the menu is the best don't know the name

  • Ali C.

We ate here two nights ago. I ordered a grilled chicken super burrito, which was good but not necessarily anything to rave about. I loved how many vegetarian options they offered. Very cool! Our service was definitely slow. We sat with water and chips and salsa for about 20 minutes before anyone took our drink order and then waited about another 15 for our drinks. Our party ordered several frozen margaritas though and our server was also playing bartender so it wasn't her fault the service was so slow. She was doing all she could. Not sure I would ever come back though during dinner rush, and I would certainly not suggest coming here if you are an impatient diner.

    (3)
  • Kaitlin T.

Food was mediocre, beans tastes like they came from a can. Tortillas did not taste homemade. All of the sauces were a bit bland. Their carne asada tacos were pretty good, they had lots of meat. Overall 3 out of 5 stars, I would much prefer luzmillas.

    (3)
  • Tim C.

The food was ok but the service is sooooo slow, it took us 20 minutes just to get beer and appetizer , and we didn't even order lunch because we couldn't wait longer, crazy slow....whilst some young dude walked around acting like a big shot and a bartender that didn't do a single thing the hour we were there...and it was hot as hell in there. We will never go back....

    (1)
  • Bill L.

I have always enjoyed this place and while the food is tasty the last 3 or 4 times I have been there service is really slow and lacking. Come on guy's! You are not the only Mexican restaurant in town!

  • Justin I.

It's been a LOOOOOOONG time since I've been somewhere in which I was ready to walk out before I even sat down. After a long day of a somewhat early spring cleaning... ok, just cleaning my car out from all the fast food bags of the week, My wife sprang for Mexican food. I was pretty stoked to try Rita's because I've heard about them on the radio station and other places as well. I'd heard nothing but good things about the food. Maybe.. just MAYBE, the food is the ONLY thing to talk about this place. We walked in, stood there for a couple minutes while person after person who worked there just walked past us.. didn't even acknowledge that we were there. strike 1. Then a guy comes walking up and just simply says without a smile a "Welcome to Rita's", or even looking at us and says "seat yourself". Strike 2 We go to a table, we have our menus.. table isn't just wobbly, I got fucking vertigo off the wobbliness of the table. Strike 3. I mean cmon, don't be stingy and just buy a new god damn table! Then, I'm starting to get hungry and thirsty and I'm expecting water and chips and salsa... waiting... waiting... 15 minutes later and probably staff walking past us no less than 20 times and paying us no attention. Our menus were sitting on the edge of the table, we're looking around.. and for anyone who's been in the food service world, that's a BIG red flag for "The customer has been waiting WAY TOO FUCKING LONG". Strike 4. Then an older lady mosies on over and gives us water, chips, and salsa. but no place to put the salsa. My wife asks her if there's a kids menu and she says "We just have #11". It's a taco plate. she leaves and I figure she's walking to get us a bowl for the salsa. I was wrong. Strike 5. and 6 FINALLY... FINALLY, Miguel "El Gallo" comes over and asks if we've been helped yet. we say no and lemme tell ya he hops on it, gets our bowls, gets our sodas, and takes our order. Score one for Ritas! Miguel checks on us every few minutes until our food arrives. The food was delicious! I mean a fajita shrimp, chicken, and steak quesadilla was probably one of the best meals I've had in months. Sorry Mrs. Iiams you're a good cook, but this was GOOD! Now, I'm in a better mood as the food coma is about to set in. We go to pay our bill and I ask who the manager is and Miguel points me to the guy standing next to him. I tell the guy "Miguel needs a raise. He's the only reason why we didn't walk out of here and tell you that you needed to figure out the bill". To which he replied "No, he doesn't need a raise". WOAH! That's like strike 7-100. All in all, I can't give the place a 1 star because the food and miguel saved it. Otherwise, I'll go to another place if I want mexican food. IF you come to this restaurant and Miguel isn't your waiter, run.. run very fast!

Huge selection of tequilas. Margaritas were great! Service was just ok. Prices were very reasonable and overall it was a good experience

Happy hour was delicious. I love the blended mango margarita! We all had a blast from work. Will make sure we go here every time we are in town. Pitchers next time instead of glasses for sure! They also make great alacart orders.

Not so good! I went for lunch with my daughter it took a half hour to get a burrito off the lunch menu and there were only 4 people in the place. The burrito was supposed to be carni Asada instead it was rice with chewy fatty meat for 9 bucks! I really wanted to like them but left disappointed.

Good food and great drinks mixed with wonderful prices makes this place a fantastic stop. Just don't go if your in a hurry. Even tho service is great, there very understaffed often having one or two waiters on at a time. Still a great place to go!

Worst Carna Asada ever. The meat was over done, like jerky and totally flavorless. When I complained to the server he went to the manager, brought the ticket and said I should take it up with manager who was manning the cash register. I told him about the food and told me that I was rude. Well the customer is alway right and I told him I would post on yelp. Then and only then did he make it right. Not going there again.

I used to work across the street from here and had the misfortune of getting dragged here way more times than I ever would have wanted. The food is so fucking bland that it tastes like nothing. Literally, nothing. There is no flavor at all. The margaritas, I have to say, are decent. The skinny margarita was very good actually. None of that matters though since every single table in there wobbles and your drink is going to spill anyway.

I like the food. Great selection and good flavor. The service is usually okay. The drinks are watered down and the restaurant is hot. It's like they are trying to suffocate you. Love Rita's in general. Just needs a few tweaks. Oh and the tables wobble.

Terrible service. No one comes to the table for 15 minutes. I ordered Chile Verde Flautas. There was pink pork and no green sauce to be found. It tasted like unseasoned, kind of warm pork. Pretty gross. On top of that, they put jalapeños in my 8 year old daughter's burrito. Seriously?

My wife and I enjoy this place. We moved to Eureka from McKinleyville...we kind of miss our Mexican place up there....but this location is clean and the service is usually pretty good. I really enjoy the food and so does my wife. I wish they had more tap bears...that would make this place a real unique Mexican resturant. They have a full bar...I would come here to have a friday happy hour cocktail if I was still childless.

I LOOOOOOVE THIS PLACE! The food is amazing, the service is amazing, and I will go back over and over again! I just recently had the chile colorado burrito and lemme tell you it was so good I started thinking dirty thoughts! I ate the entire thing and it is NOT small! The meat was so juicy and tender it fell apart or melted in my mouth. I have had multiple items there and so has my husband and my goodness this place is awesome! Go there, have a margarita and eat a super burrito! You're welcome! P.S. the little side restaurants that ritas has feels like they arent even related to the one on 5th. their service isnt as good and neither is their food and atmosphere. Go to the fifth street location!

Ok, I've eaten there. Its good. This review is not about food. Here is a little lesson on making sure your info is correct on your Yelp page. Some friends and I, a party of 8, were planning on going to Ritas. But it was a Sunday. I'm thinking, "I'm pretty sure Ritas is closed on Sunday, but maybe they changed that with their new location." Hop on Yelp and yes, the info on the Yelp page do not have any Sunday hours listed. I even called to confirm but nobody answered the phone. So we changed our plans and go to another restaurant. On our way there, we drive by Ritas to discover they are open. Too late, on to Plaza Grill. You lost a $200 bill due to poor info on Yelp.

Decent food and horrible service. Took forever to have someone wait on us. Margaritas were really watered down. Overall very disappointed.

The good : we went to this Rita's for lunch, and the food arrived quickly and was pretty good. The guacamole was excellent! Service was quick and the waiters were very attentive. Worth 4 stars at least if it wasn't for ... The bad : apparently they don't accept American Express anymore. Bad business move in my opinion

They recently moved across the street into the old stantons building & I love the bigger space. I also really like the design on their chairs, which has no bearing on the rating, but thought I'd mention it. :) Their menu is very large & there are so many choices, it takes me awhile to decide what I want because there was so many delicious options. The food is always hot, sometimes almost too hot to eat. I don't feel I should complain about, but when I see & smell my food I really just want to start eating not waiting for it to cool, so beware of a burned tongue! LOL The servers are generally fast & friendly, but there have been a time or two where the service was pretty slow. I've only talked to Rita once, but that conversation makes this a 5 star review instead of 4. I was dining with my friends, both whom had a drink & Rita came over to talk to us & during the conversation she pointed at the drinks & politely asked (and I don't remember exactly how she phrased it) asked who was driving (I wasn't drinking, so I was driving). My friends certainly weren't drunk, but all the same, we REALLY appreciate that Rita cares enough to make sure her patrons don't drink & drive!

I really don't understand what everyone likes about Rita's- literally not a clue! The service isn't that good & is very slow. My fiance is allergic to the oak in the dark tequila so we always ask about their silver tequila's- only one employee knew anything about their tequila period, everyone else had to leave us to go ask someone else. NOt to mention the margarita's are way overpriced. Their el jimador silver margarita pitcher was over $30 last time we were there- the same thing is a house margarita at Fiesta cafe and cantina for $10 less than that! They have margarita specials, but none on pitchers (which is where their real money is- shame they don't realize that). The menu looks great with alot of selection- but in reality everything tastes the same- whether it's the barbacoa, tinga or colorado....

After hearing good things about this place and on a very rare occasion my wife and I are out without kids or friends, we decided to give it a try. After being seated and given the usual chips and salsa we were thinking we were in for a great time, then while waiting to place our order we saw a customer and his date seat themselves and get there order taken by our waiter he finally came over to take ours. The other couple received their order and still we waited for ours for 45 minutes all the while watching others come in be seated and served while we waited. I watched customers walk back into the kitchen and get there own guacamole and our waiter who was sweating, wipe his sweat away and continue working and just as I was posting all this on facebook and getting ready to walk out our food came and the same ass that was seating and serving himself called our waiter over before we could say anything to him. Rude much!!!!! I was surprised by the size of the portions my wife's burrito was as big as her head, she ordered the chicken chipoltle burrito it was so full of rice and lettuce it had maybe 2 ounces of chicken in a 3 lb dish. So aside from a long wait poor health practices and crappy food with customers that think they are more important then anyone else, I guess you could say it was just another over-hyped Mexican restaurant. And the one reviewer is also correct as our table wobbled all over the place. Very disappointing I will NEVER GO BACK!!!!! EVER!!!! It really doesn't even deserve the one star should be a minus 5.

After about a four hour drive from Oregon, we stopped in Eureka starving and craving some Mexican food. Using YELP, I spied that Rita's seemed to be the place to go, so off we went. Truly, Rita's was just a-ok. The further North of the border you go, the chances of finding great authentic Mexican food become sparse. So, I can see why the locals might think it's the best thing to hit town since taco bell. The Shrimp Ceviche, chips and salsa were all wonderful. Also great that they give you self serve bottes of salsa to freely pour when you need a refill. The service was also great and they serve COKE which is always a plus to me! The food itself was bland---not flavorful at all. This made me sad. It is what it is.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
