I decided to log on to Yelp to add a review to this place because I was pretty floored with the service I received. I had a customer at work tell me about this place and said its worth the drive up the 15. It took 10 minutes from Escondido where I work to get there. Needless to say I was famished. I walked in and was greeted by the owners wife who promptly took my order and brought me out one of the tastiest panini sandwich's I think I have ever had. Its possible I haven't had enough panini's in my life but OH MY. SO GOOD. Do yourself a favor and stop in. Order a Castle, on the multicolored rye bread. Then write yourself a 5 star review. P.S -- They have a secret menu on their wall behind the menu. It is on flash cards. check them out. ;)

Really good and big sandwiches. The kids each had a turkey cheese sandwich which came in a little roll with a cookie and chips. The hubby had a roast beef with au jus which I had a bite and it was delicious. Wish I had gotten it! It was toasted and the meat was flavorful with melted cheese and dipped in the rich broth. The mother in law had the same sandwich but on gluten free bread. She's the reason we came to this little spot for lunch, since she's gluten free. She also had the tortilla soup and enjoyed both. The father in law had the Italian with what the lady at the counted said was fresh home made potatoe salad. I had the California on the special brown bread. My sandwich was okay, but I think only because it was what I always order. We sat outside and although warm, it was perfect California weather. It's on the opposite side of the street where a golf course is at so we suggest parking towards the back. When we were there a few balls came flying at the cars parked closer to the street. It's on the way up a mountain and it's surrounded by what seems a forest due to the big trees. I also had a the vanilla frappe which was really sweet and the inlaw ordered the Mexican hot chocolate, which we tasted and that was really good with hints of cinnamon. So good the little one had one too. When we stay at Welk Resort again we'll be back here since it's really close by and so good and they accommodate gluten free.

What an extremely nice suprise! I was half way between SD and Temecula and hungry. So I did a quick yelp. This place was pretty much the only place on the map. 4 1/2 stars... let's give it a whirl. Glad I did. Wound up with soup and half a grill cheese. Honestly? Felt like what my mom would have made me if she'd gone to culinary school. Nice blend of flavors. Call it a gourmet sandwich shop for blue collar folks. And no, that's not an insult either way. Staff was super pleasent... immediately greeted me, walked me through the menu and checked on me probably 3-4 times. Very kind and thoughtful. I was in, fed and out in probably 12 mins. It was one of those meals that geniunly hit the spot at a fair price and with good service. I will be back.

Awesome Deli! The food was super fresh and the deli is teal close to the Welk Resort! I had the cream of asparagus soup which rocked! My ham and Swiss on Squaw was awesome and they served it with yummy homemade pickles!

Checked this place out because of all the good yelp reviews and have now found my new favorite sandwich shop! We had the farmers market and the Reuben sandwiches which were both very fresh and delicious. The homemade potato salad is great too!

Pricey sandwiches, not much of a selection... Need more options. What brought it down was the attitude from the two girls working there. They weren't welcoming or that friendly. They seemed like they didn't want to be there. Sandwiches were ok, could of made it at home. I was hoping for great flavors. I was hoping to really like it cause the quality of the meat is suppose to be great and it's super close to home. I've been once with hubby and kids and we haven't been back.

This place is great and the service is always great as well! They have a variety of sandwiches and salads or you can create your own sandwich. I wish they had longer hours, but as a small town business I can understand and appreciate why they don't. At least it's a great local business that adds some options to those of us in the rural area of North County! The inside isn't huge, but they do have about 6 tables inside and a few outside as well. If you're getting food to go on the weekend during peak lunch hours, I'd recommend calling the order in ahead of time.

4.5 so I'm rounding up based on the friendly staff. The food was 4.5 quality and you can custom order or tweak sandwiches the way you want. Definitely a great place to check out if you are this far out in that neck of the woods. And will definitely be back now and then as it is very close off the 15 =) Decor is okay =) family friendly environment. Come on a nice day and enjoy the sun San Diego weather. Happy eating!!

This place was a true gem! They replaced my avocado with lettuce (I'm allergic) with no problems. It was a treat being in a clean and friendly environment. If I could give this place a grade, it would be A++++. Thank you for servicing AWESOME food!

This place was darn good. For the lady with the bad review, sometime people have off-days but my friends and I did not experience any issues while we are here. And you can not compare them to Subway! Lol the guys were friendly. The food is really tasty, all the ingredients tasted fresh. I would definitely come back to this sandwich place, and bring family & friends every time.

Based on owner and pleasantness of our experience this is a 5star rating. Everything was freshly made so we had to wait a little bit but was fine. The Mexican hot chocolate was excellent, and we were taking it away from our kids. Coffee was delicious and had free refills. Breakfast burrito had everything needed and very tasty. As a side note I do not eat restaurant beans, but couldn't resist licking my fingers. Croissants where great but p.b.j for my eight year old fell short. Cons- the bread on the p.b.j was a bit tough. Overall good and be back to catchup with owner.

We've been wanting to try this place since we moved to the area a year ago based on an article in a local paper and yelp reviews. Today, Sunday, we decided to try it out during half time. When we walked in, I noticed three guys working behind the counter. I got the feeling that they weren't too excited about being there. No smiles or friendly greeting. My husband ordered half corned beef sandwich on rye with provolone cheese, mayo & mustard, lettuce & tomato, and a side of chili. I ordered the Creekside Greek Wrap. One of the guys said that they were out of the tzatziki sauce and would need to make more. They offered to use another spread but I told them that I would have the Farmers Market instead in a spinach wrap. We ordered this To Go. The wait seemed to take much longer than it should have. There were 2 guys who ordered before us, and while we were waiting, another guy came in to pick up a phone order. That was all, but we must have waited at least 15 minutes. During that time, I heard the guy making the sandwiches that he needed more tomatoes sliced. I saw one of the guys get tomatoes out of the refrigerator to slice. I also heard the sandwich making guy say he was out of one of the cheeses. Finally, the sandwich making guy brings our sandwiches to us. They are not wrapped to go. I tell him that they are to go, and he says, "Oh they are?" . He wraps them to go and brings them to us. We remind him that we ordered chili so he goes back and gets that too. As we are leaving, I tell my husband "these sandwiches better be good!" and he agrees. We get home and open up our sandwiches. My husband's sandwich IS corned beef, but on wheat, not rye, with the works, except for tomato. So he would've returned it if we weren't already home. Way off the mark. My wrap is mostly turkey, and too much wrap. Not enough filling. No tomato. We both love tomato so that was disappointing because the guy making the sandwiches knew he was out and another guy was slicing but no one thought to bring any to him while he was making sandwiches. Like I said, the three guys working today acted like they didn't really want to be there. They were slow moving, not friendly, lacked enthusiasm, and seemed sloppy and inexperienced. The "chili" was more like a cheesy bean dip, way too thick for chili. My husband only ate about half of it. On a positive note, the wheat bread was fresh, as were the corned beef and turkey. The problems I have based on todays visit in summary are: 1. why they didn't have any sliced tomatoes ready? why are they out of tzatziki sauce? And out of one type of cheese. It is 11:30 am, the food prep should be done and ready for lunch. And being out of cheese at a deli seems wrong. 2. the staff....why aren't they working as a team? Why is only one of them making sandwiches...what are the other 2 doing? One seemed to be doing food prep, slicing tomatoes, and the other was working the cash register. The errors that happened with our order didn't have to happen if they worked as a team and communicated. How are the orders communicated to the person making the sandwiches? Something's not right. We paid $17 for this lunch and honestly would have been better off going to Subway. Would've saved a few bucks and been happier. I wonder if this is the Sunday crew and the regular staff are off on Sunday. We will try them again during the week and give them a better review if it is warranted. I sure hope it is and hope this was just a fluke. I want to go back and try this fantastic deli everyone is writing about!

I don't get it. These are tasty sandwiches, but waaaaaaaaay overpriced for what you get. No sides, no ambiance and $10.00 For a sandwich?

I have now found the best sandwich shop in escondido! Staff is very friendly and food is great. I really liked the house made potato salad.

On a whim, I stopped by this little deli on the way to grandma's house with my kids. Never been there before, but the kids were hungry and i thought it'd be nice to bring my mom and dad some lunch. Now i am SO glad we decided to head in! Each of us ended up ordering a different one of their signature sandwiches. (Six sandwiches in total.) The wait was pretty long - after all, everything's made fresh to order there - but it was worth it! I ordered the grilled cheese and one of my daughters ordered the pastrami. Once we received our orders, i took half of hers and she took half of mine. I thought both were very tasty. My kids and parents seemed to really like theirs too. Overall, the food was good, the staff was nice, the atmosphere was comfy and inviting - especially since it was raining that morning, LOL - and i have the feeling that we'll be returning to The Pointed Roof soon. :)

Everything is delicious. Road tripping from SD to Las Vegas and hungry. Super easy to get to right off 15, so glad we found this place and stopped. Highly recommend the breakfast sandwich.

We passed this place on the way to Harrah's. The next morning on the way home we were really hungry so decide to stop. What a great place! Its really small and is obviously local. The people inside were super friendly and the breakfast sandwiches were awesome. The Pointed Roof will be a regular stop for us when we're in the area.

  • Joshy F.

Located just off old castle road, the Pointed Roof Deli is literally a shack attached to a used car dealership. Sandwiches run $9, add a drink and chips for $2.49. I tried the Farmers Market on Jalapeno cheddar bread and my friend made a custom sub. They use Boars Head meats which is one of the best brands in my opinion. If you're in the area, there isn't much else to eat but even if there was, I would still definitely recommend this place if your a sandwich fan!

  • Lacey R.

Delish! Amazing people and super friendly. The food is fresh and made to order

This place is so cute and the staff is so nice. We were from out of town they gave us hikes to go on places to go etc. We came here several times- the breakfast burritos are so good. We tried the farmers market that was recommend it was soo good! They even packed out sandwiches up so we could enjoy them at the Zoo!

  • Paulino M.

Awesome find!! I've had most of the menu and it is all great fresh tasting food. Staff is helpful and friendly. Boars head meats and cheeses, can't go wrong with that!! I can't say enough good things about this place. You have to check it out!!

    (5)
  • Judy P.

Way overpriced and bad service from the counter girl. She did not greet us or smile at all and the smoothie was freaking small for $4. I'm mad that I spent $15 on a small sandwich and smoothie.

  • Kim L.

My husband and I stopped on our way up the grade. Had the roast beef and buffalo chicken sandwiches. Both were delicious. The place is tiny but cute and clean. And the employees were most friendly. Would definitely go back.

  • Blake D.

A solid 4.5! Fantastic little place in the middle of Escondido! Great family run place with great food and fantastic service; they even deliver to the pool at our resort nearby. Came twice and each time was even better than the time before! A must for anyone who is at the Welk and wants to get away from the overpriced food :) Got the breakfast sandwich and fresh local fruit. As a reminder, you're in CA, you have to get the fruit.

  • Erick J.

Boars head meats are used here. And not to mention the service is high quality as well. The potato salad and cole slaw are amazing. Cant go wrong wiyh any sandwich here. Gluten free breads, veggie wraps, lots of local organic ingredients are used here as well. I promise you will not be disappointed.

  • Stacey E.

It's just a simple little sandwich shop, but yum yum yummy! I had the pastrami and I could not eat it fast enough. I do have to say though, my favorite part was their potato salad. I know, it's just potato salad. Yeah. But when you lie awake at night thinking that you WISH you had a tub of that in your fridge right now...........well. It was that good! I can't wait to go again and bring home plenty to enjoy later!

My parents and I were visiting my brother near the golf course for Thanksgiving but was hungry for something else on black friday. We found this amazing place through Yelp with a great atmosphere and delicious food. I highly recommend this place (I had the farmer's market sandwich and artichoke bisque and it was amazing!) and will definitely try to return whenever I visit!

  • Gina K.

This place is small and cozy with benches outside to eat in the usually beautiful sunny SoCal weather. The sandwiches are delicious. Nothing too fancy or complicated just great quality ingredients. Boars Head meats and local breads. Love this place. I come this way for work at least once a week and this is my place of choice.

    (4)
  • Yolanda S.

Excellent. Staff is so friendly. We were offered samples of their daily soup. Artichoke bisque, amazing! Boars Head meats and cheese and fresh bread. Farmers market sandwich was mealt in your mouth. The cream cheese herb dressing in the sandwich was something I've never tasted. Our lil guy ordered the Jr. grilled cheese. Perfect size for their lil hands. And it was a non greesy mozzarella round grilled goodness. It is definitely worth the price and I can't wait to go back! A must try!

Recommend: Home made bacon potato salad Avoid: Nothing yet... I had to drive up here for work, and must say for being in San Diego County this place was FAR! Got to chat with the owners, and she was super sweet and accommodating. She told us about how she always dreamed of owning her own deli, and how when she saw the charming building she knew she had to start one. With that said, when the sandwiches came out, I have to say that it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Yes, they use high-quality boar's head meat, but what differentiates them is how it all comes together. I got a turkey melt, and everything just blended together in perfect proportions. Also, I ordered a side of home-made bacon potato salad, and it was freaking incredible. Bacon makes everything freaking incredible. All that said, I wish The Pointed Roof were closer to San Diego and I would frequent them more often. As for now, I'll probably only go back if I go on a camping trip or something in the area. All you locals are lucky!

We found this place online and decided to stop in for breakfast on our way out of town (the reviews were great!). Small place, but the owners made us feel so welcome. Very friendly and down to earth. We decided to have lunch for breakfast and it was delish! Sandwiches were so fresh-made while we waited. We ate at there and it was really terrific! Will definitely be back.

Wow pulling up to this place you wouldn't expect it to be so delicious! The staff is friendly and the sandwiches are so good! Got the farmers market and the chicken ranch sandwich and split them with the fiancé. The bread is super fresh as are all the other ingredients. Stopped on the way to temecula and every time we pass through this area we will be stopping in for a sandwich. Thanks for a delicious lunch!

This place had excellent food and wonderful staff. There have been some staffing issues in the past but the owner was saying she had to let some of the "kids" go. Very helpful if you are unsure of what to order and the staff will let you know what they prefer if you ask which sandwich is better.

Fantastic!!! We're new to valley center and saw good reviews on yelp so thought why not give it a try and so happy we did. Farmers Market sandwich the squaw bread is delicious. Chicken ranch club my kids loved!!! And my Cobb salad was great. Although for my taste I'll get the olives on the side next time.

I had an amazing sandwich here a couple of weeks ago and will definitely be back. Maybe today? Who knows. The bread was soft and the meat was fresh. Service was quick and friendly. This place isn't too far off of the freeway, so if you're looking for a great deli style sandwich, please give them a try!! You won't be disappointed. Dogs are welcome on the patio too =)

I would not recommend this place. Unless you want okay food prepared the way they want to make it, with not friendly service. That's what we got~ We were on our way from one vintage show in Rainbow to another in Valley Center and needed to eat lunch. This happened to be the first place we saw and so we stopped. Its a nice enough place but the "customer service" is in REAL need - the high schooler who took our order did not smile, barely made eye contact and she mumbled so quietly I had to ask her to repeat a couple times. I ordered the Greek wrap and asked for no onions or tzatziki since I can't eat cucumbers. I'm not sure exactly which sandwich my friend ordered but she wanted everything except onions and asked to add avocado. The wrap looked great and tasted great too, until after a few bites, I realized it had cucumber in it. So I had to unwrap and dig them out - not a huge deal but disappointing since I grabbed the menu to check and cucumbers are not listed on the wrap. I suspect that they did just put the taztziki sauce on anyway. My friend noticed right away that her sandwich was missing lettuce. Really? How do you miss putting lettuce on? They fixed it and after a couple more bites, she realized it didn't have avocado, for which she paid extra. The only guy that was working was very apologetic and offered my friend a cup of a salad in the cooler. I don't know if either of the young ladies even noticed. My friend picked up her water and it slid out of her hand, hit the table and knocked my diet coke over, spilling soda and ice over the table and onto the floor a bit. I grabbed napkins to clean up what I could while my friend had to wait to be acknowledged at the counter by the girls to ask for a rag. The blonde girl just handed her two dry towels "here you go". Again, REALLY? ? My friend went to the soda machine to get one of the towels wet and we cleaned off the table and my purse a bit but I was so over it by this point, I just dropped the dry towel under the table onto the floor over the soda and ice. We finally finished our lunches and I needed to get out of there before I said something not very nice. I have no idea where the guy was but neither girl looked up from her cell phone, much less said thank you or goodbye. NO way will I stop there again -

This is quickly becoming our "go-to" lunch spot. Today I had the Reuben and it was very, very good. Perfectly sized, the meat and cheese and bread are all very high quality. Last time I had the Farmers Market Sandwich and it too was really good. I might just work my way through the whole menu eventually lol. Definitely worth the little detour off the freeway...it's in a quiet spot across from a golf course and they have patio seating- they even allow leashed dogs on the patio :) Also, just found out they deliver to my local 'hood which is fantastic because NO ONE else does (not even pizza! lol)....so we're excited to use that service when the time comes. Staff is super friendly, polite and attentive.

Wow. The "tour de California" French dip sandwich is out of this world! My boyfriend had the buffalo blue cheese chicken sandwich and said "nomnomnom." So he loved it. He also got a fresh giant pickle for $1.50 and it was crisp and mouthwatering. The bread is amazing on both sandwiches. Quick & friendly service. High quality meat & cheese. Outstandingly delicious sandwich combos. I'm pretty sure we will be going back tomorrow for more.

This place is very customer focused. They made us 2 sandwiches on a day San Diego was going through massive fires and they were about to close early. They even brought them out to us by the car. The food was great too.

Ordered sandwiches for delivery to my house in Fallbrook (We're in an odd spot near the Pala side of the 76, so nobody delivers here). I was very impressed with their selection. They've got like 15 different cheeses and as many meats to pick from for sandwiches, and they have their pre-built sandwich choices that are awesome. $25 minimum order for delivery, no delivery charge, and it was to my door within 25 minutes. Very impressive :) Food was great. We ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 breakfast burritos, and they threw in a free sample of their potato salad too! It was amazing. The food was filling and healthy! Definitely ordering from this place at least once a month (or week... :) from now on. Awesome service, family owned, and very deserving of business in my opinion.

This deli is a hidden gem! There isn't much between north Escondido and Temecula, but this is worth the stop if you are hungry along the way. Of course you can get traditional sandwiches, but check out their menu. Sandwiches with cream cheese on Squaw bread - delicious. And I'm real picky about potato salad. Theirs is fantastic. Go hungry or consider splitting a sandwich. They have soups and other hot dishes too. For my motorcycle-riding friends, this would be a great stop on the way to Valley Center.

From out of town and found this place on yelp. Food was great and not terribly expensive. They were very friendly and pretty quick to get it to us. Definitely recommend for a lunch if you are close.

  • Nichole H.

Food is absolutely delicious and the staff is so friendly! I placed a large order ten minutes before closing and they were willing to accommodate. They also continued to work on an order for a few people who came in after closing time instead of turning them away. I wondered if the food would be substandard since they were closing for the night, but it was just as good as any other time I've been there. They even offered extra pickle and pepperoncini. I only wish they were open a little later on Saturdays and Sundays. I'll definitely be returning.

Super good, super fresh, and super friendly. Today they were doing burgers outside so i had them add pastrami and bacon with the spicy colby jack cheese. All i can say is WOW! One of my best burgers ever...

I just picked up my phone order, (2) 1/2 sandwich & cup of soup (LIMA BEAN & HAM!!!) combos! I had to write a review to let you know how amazing their customer service is... Even though their menu says Egg, Chicken & Tuna Salad when available; The Pointed Roof was more than willing to whip up a batch of Tuna Salad just for my order!! On a chilly Monday this homemade soup and sandwich really hot the spot! Thanks Pointed Roof!

Best Deli in VC! Bread is fresh & meats are quality. Family owned staff are super friendly. Way better experience than Country Junction. Eat at The Pointed Roof!

  • Toni R.

Love this place! Friendly staff, great soups, salads & sandwiches, reasonable prices. There's gluten free bread available as well! Try the Cobb, that's one of the deli standards by which I judge, and Pointed Roof does not disappoint with real bacon, Boar's Head turkey, half an avocado, black olives, tomato, a whole sliced hard-boiled egg, and croutons. Topped with ranch or blue (my choice) made in house, it's more than a meal for the average hungry person.

Decided to eat here based on Yelp reviwes. Once again, Yelp reviwers did not let me down. Ordered the grilled cheese and the greek wrap. Both were absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and the complimentary shot of tomato basil soup was amazing. Next time we are in the middle of nowhere, we will definitely stop here again. Hidden gem.

Really nice people. Really good food. Easy, fast, local, fresh. 4.5. Got the chicken bacon avocado and had breakfast there. Really good bread, too. Don't go to subway when awesome local places like this are right around the corner! Clean bathrooms. Coffee wasn't bad for a sandwich place.

Staying nearby looking for sandwiches. Saw this on Yelp and decided to try it. Had pastrami and Ruben and two different kinds of chicken sandwiches, along with a green salad some soup and potato salad. Wonderfully fresh ingredients. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We are senior citizens and the sandwiches lasted us more than one meal. I would recommend this place to anyone, and you can be sure at our next visit to the resort we will come back here for more.

Valley Center's latest addition to the food scene is the recently opened, The Pointed Roof Delicatessen. It's close to the end of Old Castle Road near Interstate 15. It's located next to the large A frame building that had been the home of a market and veterinary office. Featuring unique sandwiches made from a wide selection of artisan breads and premium deli meats and cheeses from Boar's Head, the deli staff is quick to please.. Sandwiches are priced from $7.95- $8.75 and are large enough for two people. You can make your meal a combo with a small drink and small side or chips for two bucks more. They also serve five different salads with a selection of homemade dressings. There is also a daily soup selection. A real plus for Valley Center residents commuting to I-15 is that a breakfast is served from 6AM to either to enjoy there or take with you. Breakfast sandwiches (New York Style) with a selection of meats, breads included with a scrambled egg from $3.95-5.95, if you load up on the meat! There is also steel cut oatmeal with a choice of toppings for $2.95, bagels and cream cheese with homemade additions, a yogurt parfait, and an Acai Bowl with mixed fresh berries and granola for $3.50. They offer a wide selection of sodas, energy drinks, smoothies and lots of hot coffee and tea, at very reasonable prices. The deli will be open Monday through Friday from 6AM-6PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 7AM to 7PM We first saw the new deli earlier this week and stopped in to meet the new owners and see what they offered. It's a convenient stop on a commute to and from Valley Center. The deli has tables both inside and outside on a patio/deck . The new owners and their team are enthusiast about bringing high quality food at reasonable prices to the area. I returned the next day with my wife and daughter. We were greeted with smiles and the warmth of a newly decorated room with a bright red Coke machine and a retro red trash basket. and the staff making sandwiches behind the counter. I had a menu from the day before-it's a paper flyer style tri-fold, and we had selected what we wanted to try. My daughter and I both had the 1/2 sandwich and soup combination for $7.95. You can select any sandwich on the menu. All the meals are served in a "to go"-takeout style- you can eat it there or take it with you. The soup of the day was tomato basil Gorgonzola. It was awesome, thick, spicy, and warming. I wanted to lick the bowl to get every bit! My daughter had the four cheese - Gopher Canyon Grilled Cheese with American, Cheddar, Jack and Mozzarella with a tomato and fresh basil from their garden, served Panini style on Gruyere Cheese Scallion Artisan Bread. She devoured it. I had the Tee Time Italian Sandwich with Mozzarella, Salami, Mortadella, Prosciutto, and a great, hot Capocola that added a new dimension to the meal. When the sandwich came, I looked and looked again, and we all asked. "That's a half?" It was as big as a regular one and the french roll was so fresh. Needless to say, I too devoured this fantastic find. My wife had the house salad with chicken and homemade Italian dressing and croutons. The portion was large, the greens and tomato ultra fresh, and best of all, she enjoyed it immensely. We returned today to try out the breakfast menu featuring a pumpkin oatmeal with a choice of toppings-brown sugar, honey, dried cherries and toasted almonds. It was uniquely tasty and the added dried cherries and sliced almonds to the steamy dish made me want to sing, Oh What a Beautiful Morning! We also ordered the seasonal fruit yogurt parfait served in a very large drink cup filled with the fruit salad from the cooler case that left us healthier and ready for a great day. I highly recommend that you stop by, say hello, and enjoy the food from people who really care in providing high quality meals with their touch of love. CHOW!!

The deli is great. The bread comes from a local bakery and is very fresh. They have about 5 outdoor picnic tables with umbrellas. There is also a deck with a table and raised chairs. They really want you to create your own sandwich. After being here once, take a menu so you can call ahead especially during lunch hour when they do get busy. They have baked goods for dessert.

What a great little place to find! Staying at the Welk Resort, it's a nice change of pace in food from the on site restaurant there, and less than 5 mins down the street. We went for lunch, 5 people with us, and we all tried each others food. Every bite was fantastic! The owners were lovely people, and we most definitely will be visiting again when we come back into town!

I rarely ever write reviews, and when I do, it's either really good or really bad. This place is worth a good review. The place has a very homey ambiance. I'm impressed because it is very clean, especially their restroom. The produce they use are very fresh. Fresh veggies for my Cobb salad, with quality roasted turkey meat, and bomb blue cheese dressing. I also like the customer service. They were all so nice and friendly. I also liked the fact that they have their own private parking lot. The only downside is they don't have wifi. Overall, if I pass by this place again in the future, I'd be happy to come back!

I have tried this place now 3 times, very disappointed. I'm not sure where the rest of you have eaten, but when I order a sandwich, I expect the bread to be fresh. I came one morning as they were pulling out frozen bagels & bread for the day. I guess if you get a Panini sandwich, you don't notice the stale bread. It is really a bummer, because I had really high hopes for this place. I am so close, I could walk there. Not sure if I will go back unless it is for coffee

This place is truly amazing! I've been on 4 occasions and each time was met with amazing food, great service, and reinforcement to keep coming back. The quality meats, cheeses, and artisan breads are all of the highest quality and the sauces/dressings are homemade and made with love which really makes the difference. They do daily specials and also have homemade soups, salads, and other snacks. What i've tried so far... Sandwiches: - Reuben Sandwich: The corned beef is Boars Head if I'm not mistaken, is amazing in taste and lien. The kraut and thousand island are perfectly portioned, boar's head swiss cheese, and grilled to perfection. - The Tea Time Sandwich: A classic italian sandwich with amazing meats and cheese with red onion, lettuce, and tomato on a French roll. What makes this sandwich is the homemade Italian dressing. It's ridiculous and probably my fav...Get it slightly grilled. - Tour de California French Dip: A lean and amazing tasting porter roast beef sandwich. Its ridiculously good and I'm usually not a roast beef guy. Insane. - A grilled specialty sandwich with Hawaiian bread loaf, bree cheese, black forest boards head ham, and a mango chutney. This was a daily special and knocked my socks off as well. Sides: - Potato salad: Truly legit and not too soupy, sweet, or mustardy. Perfect. - Crystal's Mushroom and Artichoke macaroni with ham: I could seriously eat this stuff all day. Not to mayonnaisey or soupy, perfect amount of macroni to stuff ratio, quality ingredients. I haven't had anything here I wouldn't order again. The problem is committing to just one sandwich. The owners are super sweet people, helpful, and friendly and will make recommendations if you're like me and constantly evaluating your menu choices. If you live in North County, this deli is definitely worth the stop! From what i understand they will cater and do large orders ahead of time as well. My only complaint is that the Pointed Roof is not closer to me and that there are not more of them! In time, in time. 5 Stars - Easy.

This place by far has the best sandwich I have ever had. The sandwich meats had such great flavor to them and the pepper jack cheese here was the absolute best I've ever had. This will be my new stop anytime I'm down here from Los Angeles.

Came here after a timeshare pitch at the Welk resort. We were starving and this place is delicious. Got the Cobb and the tea time Italian. Service was very friendly. We would highly recommend this little cafe.

Open 5 months now!! It's my first time here and I am impressed. The most popular sandwich is the farmers market, but I chose to go with the special for the day. Being as it is the day after St.Patrick's day the obvious choice for the special would be the Ruben. They named it the Red Mtn. Ruben. I was presented with a beautiful sandwich. Marbled Russian rye, heaping amounts of Kraut (I get extra), 1000 island dressing, and of course some baby Swiss. All of the ingredients were fresh and tasty! My only qualm is that the sandwich was cold as ice in the middle:( Properly served piping hot this place would have been a shoe in 5 star deli. Looks like there is room to improve.

This place is great! We were staying nearby and decided to venture off and try something new. They have a good variety of sandwiches and sides so deciding what to order was a little hard, but we finally chose the Reuben sandwich and the Tour de California french dip with a side of macaroni salad. The macaroni salad wasn't your usual overly mayo'd salad. Everything was super fresh and the portions were large. We only ate half of our sandwich each and decided to save the other half for later. When we asked for a box, the lady behind the counter actually wrapped the leftovers for us, and even gave us a fresh side of au jus to go. The staff was super friendly and the food was delicious. If you are in the area, make your way here. It's waaaaay better than subway!

What a welcome convenience to our little neck of the woods! First of all, the staff was exceptionally friendly & helpful. One gal offered a sample of the soup of the day which was artichoke bisque. Needless to say, I purchased some! The Gopher Canyon grilled cheese was awesome with the fresh tomato & basil. My daughter has simple tastes and was extremely pleased with her Black Forest ham, bacon & cheese on a French roll. It disappeared within minutes! The prices seemed a little high to me but the customer service & food quality make it all worth while!!

We were traveling from Canyon Lake to visit a local nursery and yelped nearby restaurants. I wish this place was in Canyon Lake because it's amazing! We had 3 picky adults and 3 picky children and there was something for everyone on the menu. I wish I wasn't so full because I really wanted to try the soup and their homemade root beer floats. The bread was fresh, their deli meats were super yummy and the selection was fantastic. I will definitely be going back here the next time we are in the area. Again, I wish it was closer!! We are all saying that in the car on the ride home right now!
