This place was great. They had a good selection of flavors and all the toppings were fresh. Everything tastes great and the employee was friendly and helpful. Place was pretty cheap and there was plenty of seating.

A great bar full of different toppings, and syrups. Way better than Yogurtland and Tutti Frutti. So many different yogurts are offered like mmmmmm :) Also sign up for the smileage to get rewarded for your loyalty! Great and colorful atmosphere for little kids to have play dates and play with toys that they leave for kids. Oh and they have chalkboards for you to leave your mark! Staff at Downey are really nice and helpful. On top of it all ... It's affordable and worth a try if you've never been.

I purchased a groupon to try out this location. I ended up paying $9 for $ 15 worth of yogurt! The flavors are good and my favorite is the peanut butter. The have a wide variety of toppings and other flavors. I know they have rotate the flavors too but I'm not sure how often. Kids can and will go crazy with the toppings that's for sure! I recommend coming here if you want to try a new yogurt place.

Finally a yogurt place thats close to my house and not that expensive. I love coming here cause they always have a bunch of toppings and you can get a waffle bowl which is cool. The flavors are good and I think the yogurt is a bit better than most places out there and I love not driving far to eat yogurt when I crave it.

I have to give it a bad review.. my son and I just got sick of the frozem yogurt we ate we added fruit and its been 3 days with a stomach ache. Never again going there it was such a great place to take my kids but after this no more.

My favorite yogurt place it doesn't taste all fake like yogurtland, blizz, etc they actually use real Oreos, real m&ms etc. I highly recommend this place also bring your children here better it's also a kid place your kids will love it here trust! It's kid friendly The associates are very friendly here restrooms are always clean and so is the outside and inside of this place that's why I rate it 5 stars.

Tasty frozen treats! One thing I don't like is that they constantly change the flavors and is a little pricier than other places.

Normally this place is so nice, the employees are friendly, the yogurt is good and in stock. Not tonight, both girls didn't crack a smile, they were out of strawberry and out of almonds. When I asked if they had more the girl rolled her eyes and went to the back and we waited for about 5 min when she came back with almonds she then pushed them on the counter and walked away. The girl at the register was just as pleasant, no smile no nothing. Next time I will drive the extra 10 min and get yogurt elsewhere, at least they will new happy to see me. No "Have a smiley day for me.

Good flavors and variety. Cute place, lots of seating. I like that they have dairy-free options and a Dole pineapple flavor which is YUMMY. I just wish they had a bit more fresh fruit.

This place is clean, and employees are very friendly as they greet you as you enter. Live the environment and of course the samples they offer. I didn't get the cashiers name but she wad super friendly...definitely going back

Yogurt isn't bad . Most machines were out of flavors . Bar is great ,wide selection . Staff is horrible . I don't think I'll go back for that reason .

I brought my kids here for some frozen yogurt and we all loved it. They have a good selection of flavors. My son had the Angel food cake and loved it. My daughter tried the berry craze and finished every last spoonful. I had the pineapple one and I added some strawberries. The fruit selection seems fresh and the area was clean. We'll definitely come back here again.

It has become my go to place for my sweet tooth. I'm a creature of habit so I usually end up getting the same thing every time I go but I do like trying out some of the new flavors they take out and add a little to my usual if I like it enough. Love the toppings they offer and the fact that they have waffle bowls that they make there. Only downside is that more often than not the tables are a little messy along with the floors. I don't really blame the employees because 98% of the time there's just one employee manning the place...I'm willing to over look it for the time being

  • Whitney L.

I like this as a close-by alternative to Yogurtland. They always have a wide variety of yummy flavors that makes it hard to decide! They also make fresh waffle bowls to put your yogurt in. They smell great, although I haven't tried one yet. If it weren't for the lackluster fresh fruit toppings bar, I would give it a five stars.

  • Audrey C.

Best of the chain frozen yogurt places, love the waffle bowl & holiday flavors, ample seating & good service. A few cents more per ounce than the average place, if you get a 22 ouncer you're going to spend $10, but hopefully you don't do that. Love their holiday flavors & seasonal fruit. They have a lot more toppings to choose from than tutti frutti or your other neighborhood spots. Go on Wednesdays they have free waffle bowls which are usually $1. I also love their colorful plastic menchie's spoons, I always take mine home & recycle.... Ok ok I also thieve a couple of extra ones...that makes up for those 8 extra cents I pay per ounce

I haven't been to many frozen yogurt places but this by far has been my favorite!! -Friendly Service -Clean -Not crowded -a variety of covered toppings (very sanitary!!! major plus) -chocolate covered strawberries! -GREAT flavors especially the DOLE Pineapple (don't have to go to disney for this) I get that it's more pricey than other frozen yogurt places but I do think the quality and cleanliness of the facility warrants it. This is NOT your mall froyo place with the toppings all exposed. This is a great family froyo shop, you can sit and enjoy your yogurt inside or outside. We also got coupons which we will be using very soon!

  • Lusina M.

Dole pineapple (non-dairy) flavor is my favorite because I don't eat dairy. Delicious! Always greeted by staff upon entrance. My kid has a blast eating fro yo and drawing on the chalk board :) Nice small clean fun place.

SO so glad they are here. Yogurt always fresh. Place is always, always super clean. Staff is always quick to make suggestions and they are ussually open late. they will make you a fresh waffle bowl upon request, and the toppins are always fresh and neatly served.

Overall nice place. Went with my wife and son. They had a good selection and reasonable prices. Try the waffle cone it's pretty good. Get the dole sorbet surprised they had it, that alone is worth going there.

Love this place. So many flavors to choose from, while the staff is very helpful and friendly. Also wanted to note how clean this place is. Will be coming here as much as I can. I was also told Miranda (icarly) is also a regular here.

I love this place! I feel as though the flavors of the yogurts are sooooo much better than Yogurtland. The flavors aren't as consistent as Yogurtland, but the outstanding flavors makes up for it. They have an endless amount of topping choices (well, not endless). & the topping area is so much cleaner and more sanitary than Yogurtland. I can never go to Yogurtland and get topping because everything is mixed in with everything and it just grosses me out because 3 times I've seen employees clean the counter and wipe the topping back into the container and continue to serve that. At Menchies, this problem does not exist! WOOOHOO!! This is definitely my go to yogurt place. Yummm..

Fun and clean spot to get some Frozen Yougurt. Lots of great flavors. Dulce de leche and pomegranite are my favorites. Prices are very reasonable. 10% discount if you are a LA fitness member. Open late! Only down sidee was there was no B-A-N-A-N-A s. best spot around this area for fro-yo

Been craving froyo! Decided to try this place out, since the only other frozen yogurt place I tried was Yogurtland. Service- I thought it was fine, maybe because I went around 1 PM when only a few people came in & out. I do like the yogurt flavors they have! Some Yelpers recommended the Pineapple Dole Whip & I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also mixed Cookie Butter & New York Cheesecake. So yummy. I was in awe on how many different kinds of toppings they do have, it's truly a variety. Something about the fruit tasted just a bit off. It wasn't sour but didn't taste as fresh as I thought it would be. Price- Yes it is a bit pricey compared to Yogurtland & probably other froyo places. 45 cents per ounce. That's the only other downside aside from the fruit I think. I DO like the private room for kids or maybe even for studying.

Things to know about Menchie's at Downey Landing in Downey: - It's off in a corner next to Game Stop facing Lakewood Blvd. - Usually during the day, weekends, & holidays this parking lot as well as most of Downey Landing's hot spots get packed. On Monday evenings, it is moderately to marginally busy. We saw plenty of parking spaces available. - There are seats inside, but it's so nice at night - 9 pm-ish - enjoy the fresh air & outdoor seating! - The cups may not be as sturdy as other froyo places (according to my hubby), but they do offer two different sizes. They leave plenty of sample cups out so you can sample whatever flavors you want. Don't forget a waffle cup if that's your thing. - I like how they have so many different flavors AND you can combine (swirl) two flavors that are next to one another. I will def do this with fruit flavors on my next visit. - We had just picked up a few items from the local Stater Bros. on Firestone Blvd. On the back of the Stater Bros. receipt were June 2014 coupons for "buy one, get second 1/2 off" at Menchies. I asked the guy at the register if they'd still honor it. He looked it up on his register, and score! Odd though... my husbands's and my cups totaled out to be $9.72. After the said coupon, was applied the guy said our total was $4.86. No complaints, but we'll see if they apply it that way next time. - Of course, it is self-serve, but we didn't have to wait at all to pay. - Since I liked Menchie's set up, the freedom to try any flavors I wanted, the multitude of toppings, and the cleanliness of the shop, I decided to sign up for Menchie's Money. You just give them your phone number. They authorize your total ORIGINAL amount due as "smiles" or "smileage." If you ask for a receipt, at the bottom of point balance receipt, it will tell you how to register your phone number online to earn more points. - "Earn 50 smiles & 5.00 in Menchie's Money will be added on your mySmileage account." - I tried & enjoyed the following flavors: Takes the Cake Batter (lowfat), Vanilla Snow (non-fat), Jumpin' Java Latte (non-fat), & my favorite of the four, the featured flavor... Pop-arazzi Popcorn (also non-fat)! Yep, I was feelin' comfort flavors tonight (7/28/14). Next time, I'll aim for tart flavors. - Made with "real California milk." Their yogurt seems a bit more creamy to me than Yogurtland, Tutti Frutti, & Wild Berry. Even our 1-year-old seemed to pick up on this as she kept looking at me for another bite. - Their logo is super cool. The end of the spoons has the shape of their Menchie character. - Just like Terminator, "I'll be back" sans the destructiveness & the Austrian accent. Review #262

My first time here and it's great. A little bit better in my opinion than Yogurtland due to more Sorbet flavor options. Way cute spoons too!

  • Cindy B.

Love this place just for the simple fact that it's always kept clean, it's rarely packed (at least the times I've been here), they have a variety of toppings and their yogurt is delicious! I like the fact that you can sample any of their yogurts prior to pouring it into your cup. They have two different size cups and they also have the waffle cup, which I've had in the past but didn't like the fact that they were a bit stale a little difficult to bite into. If you're a regular, don't forget to register with them. Every time you buy, provide them with your phone number so that you can get what they call smileage (points) and once you reach 50 smileage, $5.00 credit will be added to your account. Oh and outside sitting is available.

Obviously people who like menchies haven't been to yogurtland. I will say that some yogurt flavors at menchies taste good. Just good, though. The froyo here is very creamy and not nearly as satisfying as yogurtland froyo. The toppings at menchies are limited, and this location in particular is kind of dirty/messy in the topping area. I only came here twice. Once to try it, and once because I was at ross and was craving froyo. I won't be back.

I went here a few days ago for the first time. It was a recommendation on yelp. First off I loved the look and lay out of the place. Walking in you could smell the fresh waffle bowls. They also had a great variety of yogurt with flavors I never had before like popcorn. The prices were great. They had two diffrent cup sizes to pick from and the sample cups were out so you dont have to ask to try more then two flavors like at some places. They only things I didn't enjoy were the kids running around and throwing chalk that they had to use on the walls. Also the employees didn't say a word to me but the amount I had to pay when ringing in my items.

  • Crystal H.

I love coming to me every time we come we try all the new flavor of them even try some of the old ones and we just love coming here. One of the best things that we do here it is we get the waffle cones and we can fill them up with some yogurt and put some toppings on top and then go back and put yogurt on top of the toppings and add more toppings and the price is still really good. There are two different sizes of cups you can get the small one or the really large one which my fiance does all the time and there's always a new flavor like you don't go in there two different times and see exactly the same flavors. Also they have this card or just give your phone number and each time you pay you get the same number of points as dollars and once you reach 50 you get five point credit which is great because you can go in there and get even more yogurt than you normally do and get $5 off and it's a really good deal.

I have to say that I am so grateful for those recommended nearby establishments that pop up on the Yelp app! I just happened to be scrolling through Yelp and saw an advert for Menchie's. Usually, I ignore half of their recommendations but when I saw the photos, I was mesmerized! I usually try to frequent Snow Station in Tustin after one of my MANY trips to Disneyland. I have been deeply infatuated with Snow Station for a while now but after today, we grew apart! I have fallen for a new frozen goodie place and it's called MENCHIE'S! I don't know how I've missed this place because I pass by this location at least twice a week! Menchie's is tucked away in the Downey Landing parking lot, closer to Ross but around the corner. Anyway, as I walked through the door, it was like a ray of light shone down brightly upon the wall of yogurt flavors and toppings! There they were, waiting for me to pull the levers in an attempt to free all of the flavors to sample until my heart was content! Although I do have ADHD, I was able to control the impulse to sample more than 2 flavors. The first one that I tried was fruit punch! Good gracious, my taste buds went into overdrive. The second flavor that I sampled was cake batter. It wasn't too sweet and it really did taste like cake batter. Therefore, I selected two containers and filled both of them with one of each flavor. Suddenly, I turned around and the toppings station drew me in! I couldn't decide which ones to adorn my yogurt with so I played it safe and only selected: gummy bears, sprinkles, waffle cone bits, color-changing sprinkles, and cookie dough bits. This was a heavenly combination! I realized at this point that I have been deprived of awesome yogurt and I have been reformed! Snow Station is going to be my back up plan but only when I'm in the area. At this point, I've moved on to the bigger, better deal and it's called MENCHIE'S! You are greeted with a smile when you walk through the door and you just can't help but get that warm and fuzzy feeling inside upon your exit. I have developed a new devotion to Menchie's and I don't think that any other establishment can top them!

Being that this is my first time at any of their locations, I'll have to give it a thumbs down. There are several reasons why. Here we go. First off freshness is everything and I have never left fruit or anything then empty in a yogurt cup. But their fruit is far from fresh. The pricing is about 25% higher than the other guys. I stood at the counter waiting for somebody to charge me for almost two minutes. The taste of the yogurt was decent but as you all know, the toppings is what makes the yogurt experience so yummy and fun. So here's why I gave it 3 stars versus 2.5 stars. I will give the place a few props. It's clean, private glassed study room, and the music that is played is full of variety and upbeat energy. But if the merchandise that is sold does not offer quality, what's the use of trying. By the way, I threw away my cup half empty.

Menchie's has been around for quite a bit. Came here when it had just opened. It was a lot cleaner back then. Came in today anx the place is a bit run down. Yogurt tastes great though and I do love the varoety of toppings. Could use more fruit though. Its also pretty pricey. .45 cents per ounce.

I LOVE Yogurt & I was really surprised this location is so close to my house.I've never been to Menchies before & I must admit I really really like the quality of this Yogurt. They have many flavors & plenty of toppings to choose from. The only thing I don't like about this place is that it's really small & parents that don't watch there kids! When parents let there kids run wild in this place it becomes frustrating. One time this stupid mother let her little boy put his fingers in one of the toppings ughhh I even told the mother "look what your boy is doing" that stupid mother didn't even care. Also another reason I did not give this Yogurt shop 5 stars is because they are very expensive per oz. If you're smart & shop at Stater Btothers in Downey Ca there is a buy one get one free coupon on the back of your receipt for Menchies.Other than that I love Yogurt & love how they have little cups right next to the yogurt so u could get free samples :) i'll be back very soon!

Dole pineapple & creamy coconut. It's like I'm in a tropical place drinking a fruity cocktail. Pina colada, virgin pina colada. Probably the only virgin thing I like. I promise it's delicious. Staff is great and maybe, just maybe you'll run into a celebrity. Downey Studios is literally right next door.

    (5)
  • Rachel Q.

Dole pineapple without the 30 minute lines at Disneyland, yes thank you! I've recently discovered that not all Menchie's have the dole whip, which is a tragedy because it is BOMB! This place is located in a shopping center and has a little private room with glass doors. The staff is nice and the toppings are fresh. Yay for Dole, for fruity pebbles, captain crunch and mochi balls!

  • Patricia D.

Absolutely NOTHING is wrong with this place! Employees are very pro active and personable with their customers. A nice display of the various toppings they offer, it's clean inside, nice sitting tables with chairs outside to sit on. I just can't say anything negative about it ;)

it's reasonably priced awesome froyo!! I love the Lakewood Blvd location better than Whittier, it's larger and feels cleaner. the staff is always super friendly and what more can you ask for? Delicious frozen yogurt, clean counters and topping areas! they've got them all! if you're in the area stop by they have a nice little corner with outside seating!

Love love love this place. The owner (or is she the manager?) is very nice. Employees all greet you and are genuinely friendly. I love the unlimited tastes. Look for coupons right now for buy one, get one half off on back of your local grocery receipts (mine is Stater Bros). Flavors we love are: Fruit Punch, Melon, Dulce, Pineapple, Tart, and Mango. Most fave is fruit punch! Be sure to also ask about the pre-packed large cups for sale in the back. It's the left overs from batches. However, coupons do not include these cups. Yum.

My review will strictly be on what I got: Grasshopper - If you are a mint-a-holic this is THEE FLAVOR for you. Add some chocolate syrup and crushed oreos and it's like a cold chocolate mint ice cream pie. Heavenly. Not too minty, not too subtle... just about right. Dole Pineapple - If you have ever tried a Dole Whip from the Dole plantation in Oahu or Disneyland (haha) this is almost identical. Pineapple-y with that island flare. Dulce - I LOVE Dulce de Leche and this is so saturated with that flavor that you forget you are eating yogurt. Perfect for anyone with an extra sweet tooth. Plain Tart - Tart just as it should be, however the consistency isn't as creamy as I would've loved. It is more on the icy side. ICSB - Literally tastes like a classic vanilla ice cream sandwich. Milk Chocolate - This should be called chocolate milk because that's exactly what it tastes like. Taro - The flavor was so faint, it almost had no flavor at all. Disappointed because I LOVE taro. OVERALL: Glad I discovered this yogurt place as it is above average than most other froyo joints. They have a CRAZY amount of toppings to choose from. Like I always say, YOU WON'T KNOW UNLESS YOU TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!!

When I first went here with Sister, they were still tweaking the decor, but it was cute already, so I knew the place would look great when they were done. Located in the Downey Landing in a dark little corner of the plaza off of Lakewood, it can be hard to find if you don't know where to look. But it was the Downey Landing, ffs.. even if you don't see it right away, just keep driving around till you do :) The shop itself is open and airy and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The flavors aren't as good as YogurtLand, but they'll still really hit the spot on a hot ass day in So Cal. When it's 104 degrees outside, froyo is your new BFF, trust me. Fruit toppings are available, but they tend to have more candy toppings than I normally prefer. If you like to sugar it up, you'll be in candy heaven here. All in all, it's not a bad little place, worth revisiting when I'm in Downey.

I'm a big frozen yogurt fan and sometimes new frozen yogurt places can be off putting but this was not the case with Menchie's. What really did me in was their great selection of flavors. Will be returning again.

I love Menchies! I used to stop by once a week but it started catching up with me since I like loading up my Ice cream sandwich or cake batter froyo with chocolate everything! They used to have these big brownie chunks, now they have little baby sized bits...Oh they also got rid of the whole Oreo's booo... Bring those back!! Suggestion: add actual Reeces pieces (not the M&Ms, its not the same) Service is always great, everyone is super friendly. They do run out of my favorite flavors sometimes but they also have new ones coming in.

This place draws you in! As you walk in that sweet smell captures you. This frozen yogurt place is a little hidden in Downey Landing but it was well worth stumbling upon. It's difficult for my daughters to select a flavor so I like that you can taste test as many flavors as you like. This is the only place that I have been to that actually gives many great-tasting choices for NO SUGAR ADDED flavors. That makes me very happy! You can tell there was a lot of thought put into these choices because they always change the no sugar added flavors around. Other places that offer a no sugar added FLAVOR, meaning one, never changes it. There are a variety of toppings and sauces. If you go often enough, you can use a rewards card. I like getting a $5 off surprise once in a while as I'm about to pay. Lastly, there's a nice little room with a large chalkboard which my daughters enjoy playing on during our visit. There are also a few game boards for kids. We thoroughly enjoy our visits here!

Came here after Tropicana at around 11:30. We had the place to ourselves. There was one guy working in the front and he was really nice. I love the candy variety and the fact that they have waffle cups. I've never seen a froyo place do that before and really liked the cinnamon one. Delicious. They also have a zillion sauces like fudge, caramel, butterscotch, marshmallow, and peanut butter. Some of the yogurt flavors were better than others, but nothing will ever compare to Tartini in Cupertino [RIP :(..]. They at least have temperature down. Yogurtland is ALWAYS too runny and Red Mango/Pinkberry are both too frosty. I think they could improve by having better fruit (quality), and also by utilizing all their machines. There were two machines that didn't have anything in them, which means they could have had four more flavors (or six, if you include the swirled flavor of both)! I will definitely need to check out Menchie's closer to campus.

If you're a fan of Yogurtland or any other yogurt place that are quite similar, you will like this place as well. The thing that made it a plus for me that other places don't have or at least I haven't seen... Cinnamon Waffle!!! You can either pick one out of display or request for a fresh warm one. Also if you're familiar with Groupon, they always have a $5 for $10 value, you just have to be on the look out for them.

Love this place. They change up the flavors every other day and this place is always clean and nice. They have a rewards program for every purchase and after so many you get a $5 credit to use in their store for frozen yogurt.

Great place to get frozen yogurt! Yeah there are other spots that have the same concept but they do have some unique flavors and toppings. They are consistently good and their service is great! I always have a great experience with them and oh! Make sure you sign up for their rewards plan! It's worth it!

This place is really good. They have a waffle option for the people who like waffles. The yogurt flavors have a perfect mix of sweet and natural flavor. My favorite is pineapple. It taste super fresh and natural. Plus tho place stays open later than the surrounding yogurt spots, which is a big plus when you get the munchies.

Came here with a friend to use a $5 for $10 groupon. Man, I wish we brought more reinforcements because $5 worth of Menchie's for each person was a little much. Its located in a nice plaza with a dental office next door. Pretty standard inside, much like a Yogurtland so no surprises there. Machines, seats, and tables were all clean so props to the staff for keeping up with that and wiping away all the random drips of yogurt and spilled candy pieces. There was a random room that is sectioned off by glass that may be for birthday parties or larger groups. You can grab your own size cup and fill it up with any flavor or as much yogurt as you like. Add toppings at your leisure. Whatever you want!...because you are paying by the weight. It was our first time there and I guess it showed because the cashier offered us a waffle cone cup "for first time customers." Some flavors that stood out were taro, cake batter, dulce de leche, and strawberry banana. My cup was filled up with that concoction and honestly, once it was all melted, I couldn't really taste the difference. The is also a whole selection of candy, syrup, nuts, fruit, and graham cracker toppings to satisfy anyone. When we went to go pay, there is a scale to estimate how much your masterpiece would cost. We were short on the weight because we were trying to maximize our groupon. We went back and loaded up more yogurt and toppings.....STILL short! By the time it was all said and done, we had almost 2lbs worth of yogurt/toppings in our cups. So yes, $5 goes a long way at Menchie's!

  • Jasmine K.

Their flavors are pretty good. They have quite a few different ones. They also have all kinds of toppings, from chocolate to gummy bears. They also have caramel, chocolate, marshmallow, and dulce de leche to drizzle on top. Bomb. They have the cutest spoons to. Last time I was there they gave us these mini cups that had a stamp, tattoo, and other random stuff. It was like a promotional thing or something, but it was cute lol. They have a free rewards card that you can sign up for which is cool because I hate places that do only the stamps.

The best and cheapest place you'll get fro-yo from. They have all the awesome toppings like Smurf edition blue chocolate, rock candy, colorful mochi, kit kat, oreos, fruits, M&Ms etc. They have some really yummy yogurt flavors like cappuccino, ice cream chocolate sandwich, cheesecake, Dulce de leche, passion fruit and mango, lots more and of course original tart. The best thing is...it ALWAYS comes out to be roughly $2.50!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT?!?!? CRAZY!!! There's also a really cute place to study by the window that could be used as a private group area cause it has a door. The spoons are also so cute that you want to keep them.

Best frozen yogurt ever its soooo creamy and have a variety of yogurt and toppings (love their pistachio and pomegranate tart yogurt and their cheese cake bites yummm) they also offer non-fat, Dairy-free and kosher! You can either choose one flavor or you can "swirl" 2 together oh and they make the waffle bowls fresh!! The staff is extremely warm, friendly and helpful I just want to pinch their cheeks (on their face pervs) lol! I took my 2 nieces and they said they were in heaven as they were showered with tons of sugar, stickers and lil cars and who knows what else, they also raved about the spoons, I have to admit they are pretty cute as we always take them home! Its just such a cool inviting place for the whole family or on a hot date!! I also wanted to add their specials of the day are as follows: Mommy & Me Monday free arts & crafts and games in party room (11 am- 3:30 pm) Two for Tuesday buy any 2 items, get 3rd item free My personal fav: Waffle bowl Wednesday !!!free waffle bowls!!! $5 Thursday one price- all you can fit in one cup Funday Sunday arts & crafts, face painting, and photos with menchie!!!

I hate to be Debbie Downer here BUT.. This has to be the worst "frozen yogurt" place I've been too. And it's not because of the service! The people are really nice here and the place is brightly colored, clean, and pretty. They even offer coupons and have a stamp card. The toppings are sorted in these weird containers that are odd to open. It needs to be like the other yogurt places. So why the 1 star? Cause the yogurt SUCKS! I regularly go to Yogurtland, Granny's and Pinkberry and always get the same: plain tart with captain crunch and strawberries on top. I would safely say this isn't yogurt. It's a chemical-ly version of soft serve. It's bad. Really bad. Bad enough to the point that I threw it away after a couple of bites. I HATE wasting food so if I had to throw it away instead of passing it on to my ma...then it's bad. What's the point of having a nice store and friendly people if the product tastes worst than McCrack? I see why Menchie's is nowhere I live. Get it together.

frozen yogurts okay.. horrible customer service though.. thought we could talk there for a while and buy something but we obviously werent wanted there. they did a good job at that too because we wont be coming back. such a shame, looks like ill be going across the landing to coldstones or somewhere else.

$0.41 per ounce.... More expensive than Yogurtland ($0.33 per ounce) but you won't have to waste a lot of gas money to get here if you live in Downey so it's probably cheaper to go to this Menchie's than to the only competition they have which is Yogurtland in Pico Rivera. Menchie's opened for the first time today here in Downey which has very poor frozen yogurt options. Menchie's is pretty good but I prefer the flavors Yogurtland has to offer. However, Yogurtland is all the way in Pico Rivera and the Pico Yogurtland does not have taro or green tea soooo I will be coming to Menchie's. Menchie's seems a bit creamier than Yogurtland but Yogurtland has more tartness and less subtle flavor to it. This Menchie's has friendly and helpful employees. The store has really nice decor and has vibrant colors. You can sit inside or outside and there are quite a few tables. There is a good selection of flavors. One thing about Menchie's that sets them apart is the fact they sell Kosher yogurts. They actually label the kosher ones. Menchie's actually sells products with their mascot on them. Menchie's offers a rewards card. They take cards and don't charge extra. There should be no problem with parking since this Menchie's is in the Downey Landing and happens to be in the less frequented part of the mall.

I'm super impressed! I'd love to have one of the waffle machines at home :) Yogurt wasn't watered down like some places I've been to and flavor selection was abundant. Service was as good as it gets. I'll be back for more soon.

Great & many variety of flavors to choose from. There are also many topping selections that you can choose. In my opinion, it is better than Yogurtland. The consistency of the yogurt is not as runny like the Yogurtland does. Their customer service is great as well. I also like how they have the reward program that when you buy the Yogurt till $50, you get $5 to buy anything you want in the store including the yogurts and the Menchies' accessories. So if you go buy yogurt often, I think it pretty worth it. You actually get something back for being a regulars. I will definitely be back for sure.

Ok so my sis and I were craving frozen yogurt and since we don't have a yogurtland close by I read some reviews and decided to check Menchies out. So we walk in and it's pretty packed with people which is a good sign! One of the girl's that was working offered us a few sample cups to go ahead and try some of the yogurt favors. My sis and I tried almost all the flavors. They had a decent amount of from your typical chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry to the more fruity like pomegranate, mango....well you get the point. I opted for the MudPie. There is a variety of toppings to choose from. Although they are a bit pricey ($.41/oz) I was pretty satisfied. As we were paying the cashier offered their free membership program...once you spend $50 you get $5 to your account for free yogurt and a "special treat" for your birthday when you register online! So if you haven't tried them check em out! They are next to Game Stop in Downey Landing.

This is a really nice yogurt shop. They have a nice variety of flavors, about 10 to choose from. They provide small paper cups so you can sample flavors. I especially liked they have two no sugar added yogurts so I am able to bring my diabetic son out for a treat. There is a really nice selection of toppings- cereal, gummy candy, chocolate, fresh fruit and my fav, granola. The sitting area is a little tight, but OK. There is also a small area surrounded in glass where the music is played a little louder. Or you can enjoy your yogurt at one of the tables outside and enjoy the sun. I was impressed that the bathroom was really clean. The overall decor is really cute and they offer packages for birthday parties. My son really like the fact it's next door to Game Stop and I like it's right around the corner from some my favorite shopping stores (Marshall's, Ross, Old Navy). Shopping + tasty yogurt = Happy!!!!!

OMG. Tried this place for the first time. I loved it, had the mango/honeydew swirl with fresh fruit all over it. Absolute perfection on a 100 degree day. Highly recommend.

They have so many toppings, I couldn't help myself. The yogurt is good. I like how I don't need to drive all the way to Cerritos for yogurt anymore. Plus, the service is amazing, the employees are so nice!

Such a cute place to go with the kids or not! The flavors are delicious.. Especially dulce de leche. However, I would like to see more fruit and/or natural toppings! Waaaay too much candy :/ kids love the stickers and especially that blackboard!

I really like this place; it's clean, the flavors are great, there's an awesome variety and I can actually come with my girl. She's vegan and they always have 2 diff flavors of sorbet's- they're really good.

Love this place! They just opened a few months ago and I'm now here every week, don't stalk me, I like to eat my yogurt in peace. The place is neat and nicely organized. They have large waffle cones (for an additional charge, unless you get lucky and it's Wacky Waffle Weds, in which case, it's free) and two sizes of cups, and probably about 100 toppings or so it seems. There's all kinds of candy toppings, cereal toppings, nut toppings, mochi balls, about 6 or 7 different types of fruit toppings such as raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, kiwi, mango, etc., and several syrups such as chocolate, caramel and I think one day, I saw peanut butter?? There's usually a couple of sorbet flavors, a few tarts (like pear and original), and Mud Pie flavor, and your standard strawberry or cherry, it varies from day to day. It's a cute place for kids, as well. They sell Menchie character products like lunch boxes, stuffed toy, badges, stickers, lip balm, stuff my daughter just loves for me to spend on. There's seating inside and outside, with one room being enclosed and it has a chalkboard and coloring sheets and crayons for the kids. 01/17/2013 - I have to say that I don't really frequent this place anymore and even though I won't downgrade my rating, I've been disappointed sometimes with my visits here recently. Most of the time, they no longer have raspberries (my favorite!) and there were a couple of times I came when they had no waffle bowls, or several of the yogurt choices had their lights on like they needed to be refilled, and the selection of flavors was not so great anymore. Thought I should warn you, maybe I had bad timing, but they don't really deserve my ravings anymore.

Great location, nice and friendly staff, quiet and clean store. The taste is how it should be. Nothing special but nothing disappointing as some people think. 4 stars for you guys.. keep up the good work!!!

Smells like sugar as soon as you walk in, BUT you get used to it and there are actually lot of healthy options (fruit, nuts, granola) along with the unhealthy ones (nerds and gummy bears). The plain greek yogurt and the greek black cherry yogurt is really good and the workers were friendly and upbeat.

I'm still undecided on this, they only have 2 non-dairy flavors but I do like that they put lids on the topping, have frozen chocolate strawberries & waffles. Very neat & clean

I am a big frozen yogurt fan! My favorite is Blizz. Menchie's was pretty good. Comparing it to Yogurtland, the quality is way better (it's not watery), though it doesn't have taro. I opted for mud pie, which is a combo of chocolate, coffee and crusts. Thumbs up. This would totally would be my frozen yogurt place if I lived in Downey.

You get plenty for your money, great selection of toppings (almost too many), and clean. It was surprising to see how much foot traffic there was a Tuesday evening and considering there tucked into a corner of Downey Landing. The only complaint I had on my visit was that it was almost too clean (if there could be such a thing), meaning they must have just mopped right before I came in because it still smelled a little of cleaning product. But I'd rather have that than the alternative. I'll be back.

Horrible!! Well, may not horrible but certainly much less than pleasant. They've put much more emphasis on store appearance and winning you over with gimmicks like face painting than they have in product quality. I sampled all the flavors available and there were only two that did not insult my pallet. The cream cheese and "dulce de leche" were the only two that didn't make me vomit a little in my mouth. With this note I'd like to add, it's Kosher, I get it! But must taste be butchered and slaughtered in such a heinous way. The nonfat variety was even worse. There is such disorganization with the manner in which their toppings are arranged that, if it were not for my super-human reflexes (I kid), my cup would have splattered on the floor while reaching for the shaved coconut. There is no surface space to comfortably put your cup down and load up on the toppings -which would ultimately make the yogurt easier to digest- Unlike Yogurtland and Tuti Fruti, other yogurt bars in greater Los Angeles, I found it hard to fall in love with any particular flavor, there is no complimentary drinking water to cleanse the pallet before or after tasting, and fresh fruit toppings were limited, I would have no reason to return. I used a coupon at checkout, the only reason we came here to begin with, and handed the other two I'd brought with me to the couple behind us. We won't be needing them. The only difference between this and other yogurt bars I've been to, and mind you I've been to quite a few, a frozen yogurt connoisseur you may say, is that their waffle cones are made fresh but that really doesn't sell me as I don't really like them and it seems you're charged double for them at check out my boyfriend so carefully noticed that they did not zero out the cost/weight of the cone (1.00) before pricing by weight at check out. In sum, we won't be back for yogurt, face painting, or anything else they have to offer.

First time walking in and they make you feel like you're the most important person in the world. They offered free waffle cones for first timers, the ice cream was awesome. Definitely, a delightful little place. Can't wait for our return visit.

I took my daughter and niece there when they opened and now they are frequent customers. The price is reasonable, the inside very inviting and clean and the best part is the yogurt is good! We love the fact that when we go the flavors are different and we've tried new flavors every time! This month my daughter received her birthday greeting from them for a free treat up to$5.00. It is a great place!
