I am somewhat shocked at the bad reviews this cafe is getting. My wife and I visited Covelo for the first time on 5/18/14 and loved the town--very bucolic, friendly people--and on the way out we stopped at M Y. It was just like the wonderful Mom and Pop cafes where my parents would stop on road trips during the fifties. The waitress was so friendly that she and I got to talking and stumbled on the coincidence that we were both born in Oakland. We ordered burgers and fries and they were delicious. The fries, per my wife, were homemade. For anyone wanting to know what California road life was like in pre-MacDonald/Jack-In-The-Box days, this is the place.
