Eh... It was heavy on the read and our pizza was covered in sliced raw tomatoes... completely uncooked. Not horrible but we probably won't come back.

We've been here quite a few times but twice in the last month. Both times we had phenomenal service. Today, 6/15/15, out server Jose M. was proficient and friendly which made our visit fun. He was attentive to our needs and made sure we had everything we wanted even before we asked. As for the pizza, it's pretty good (but that's based on my personal preferences). They have a great outdoor seating and a semi-private room for large groups. I would definitely recommend Skipolini's Pizza(Concord).

Picked up a pizza from here - Pesto primavera and a combination. I tasted both on other occasions from a coworker having it so I thought I'd try my own ;) unfortunately both did nothing for us. Crust was tough and chewy, overall pizzas were flavorless - if there was a sauce on either it was undetectable. We saw seasoning on top of pizza but unknown what type. The artichokes were also tough to chew. So sad as we are pizza lovers, but it's a cute restaurant in a cute small country town. The salad description on the menu said it was the "favorite" - I beg to differ. It was large chunks of sliced white onions (clearly sliced for a pizza) on top of large pieces of ice berg, can beets, garbanzo beans and some tiny squares of croutons (generous amount of croutons too). I'm not saying I dislike this food but it's clearly not as unique as I'd hoped. I will say though, the ingredients on pizza looked fresh & I'm guessing real cheese as my stomach didn't hurt afterwards which I thought for sure it may. Recommendation: ask your walk ins if they'd like something to drink while they wait, especially if they order even more food when they arrive. It's just good business practice. Be creative with your sauce, taste it,add some flavor. Make it from scratch, fresh tomatoes, beer, chili pepper, do something different to add some flavor. Come visit us in San Francisco and taste the various flavors in the pizza & add to yours. Also, that crust is either being tossed too much or not enough- shouldn't be so hard to chew. Not a totally bad review, as we ate the pizza, but just weren't impressed at all. My boyfriend is from and lives in the area and he'd always heard about it but never tried it as everyone he knows also said.. Ehhh Skippolinis is just ok. He said the same last night:( we REALLY wanted to love this place. Also there was a huge fly buzzing all around me at the register, it was gross! Would we come back? No. Sorry.

I have made a promise to myself. Unless I am buying pizza for a bunch of kids, I will no longer eat pizza from a Dominos or PaPa Murphys. A few weeks back the fam was craving REAL pizza and Skipolinis came to mind. I hadn't been there since their only place was in Clayton and only for the Preggo pizza as I was 9 1/2 months pregnant. Fast foward 16 years and they are in Todos Santos plaza. So quick check on yelp and off we went! We ordered the family Ceaser salad and cheesy bread to start. Kids ripped that up. Then we ordered the large pie, half Greek and half meat. Both halves were yummy and fresh tasting. Dough was not chewy but not crispy. I never eat the crust but I did this time! We returned a week later and ordered the same. This time we sat outside. Consistantly good. My new promise to myself..to order a different pizza next time.

Wonderful service, cute and clean interior. The waitress was friendly and service was fast. On a Sunday afternoon, there was nobody there so we had our pick of the seats and we chose to enjoy the day outside. Everything was perfect! - except the pizza itself, which is kind of a big thing considering it's in the restaurant's name. It wasn't bad or inedible, it just wasn't mind-blowingly delicious. We had a small "Creamy Pesto" pizza and Garlic Bread to accompany our drinking problem. Maybe I love butter too much but that Garlic Bread was DELICIOUS! The creamy pesto pizza, on the other hand, was bland. I really expected to taste some creamy pesto but all I got was fresh veggies on top of chewy dough. I can see myself coming here again one day.. Maybe next time I'll order a classic pizza instead of getting fancy.

I ate here last night. This was my first experiences and I anticipate many more. Their black and white pizza was...well there is no words to describe the combination of flavors. It was just so tasty. I love the balanced crust. Not too thick not too thin. It was just right. I was shocked to find that it was a chain restaurant considering how authentic the pizza tasted. The customer service was pretty slow. But the food made up for it.

Our first date was at this Skip's 5 years ago - we came back with a couple friends last night for pizza and had a great time. The place was completely full when we came around 8 pm on a Friday, but we were seated at a comfortable booth within 15 minutes. The servers and hosts are super friendly and funny, and added to the overall experience. We ordered the Family Caesar ($11 w/ no meat), which easily fed 4 people. Big on the fresh parmesan! It came with garlicky croutons, and was not overdressed; it was a great salad for a starter. The family-size specialty pizzas run around $30, but easily feed 4 hungry people and you can get 2 different kinds on one pie - we went with the O'Chaska (my personal fave - garlic sauce with chicken, garlic, tomatoes, and spinach) and the Pesto Primavera (pesto sauce with zucchini, fresh tomatoes, and other veggies). The pizzas are fresh, not greasy, not soggy, and have a great crust. It's a little strange that the majority of their specialty pies are on pesto or white sauce, but there's nothing stopping you from building your own creation. They've got great beers on tap (Widmer Hef is always a win), which come in 16 oz, 22 oz, or pitchers. I actually prefer drinking here to other bars in the area - they also have many wines and a house sangria. Also, huge bonus points for not covering the floors of this location with sawdust. Great for a date night, family night, or mid-week pizza craving. Definitely looking forward to going back!

Ordered the prego pizza for dinner and it was just loaded with meat. A bit salty for my taste but that's just me. Service was good initially and then disappeared towards the end so our drinks went dry and it was difficult to get the check. Otherwise it was a good experience. Parking was plenty with nearby street and garage space, even with the local farmers market going on we didn't have a problem parking at the theater parking lot.

The pizza here is great! I enjoy bringing my boys (5 & 6 years old) here because they can make their own pizza. If you have young kids I highly recommend that you have them do it. Also, the last time we were here, our server "Max" was awesome. It was slow in the restaurant, so he took them and showed them how to toss dough in the air. The food is great, but the continued service like Max gave us is the reason we keep coming back!

Excellent service, funny and friendly, nice outdoor seating area,, nice clean and crunchy crust!.prego pizza is pretty good. I'm waiting for for my 1ST Grandson to be born, hope this pizza males it happen!

Because I have a sensitive stomach I try to eat gluten free and dairy free. We decided to try Skipolini's because they serve gluten free pizza and once I arrived and they offered rice cheese I was sold. The gluten free crust and rice cheese is obviously not like normal pizza but it fulfilled my cravings. After me and my husband (who eats like a normal human and loves pizza) were done I asked him how it compares to other pizzas. He told me it we better then the pizza we loved (before I went gluten and dairy free) in Alameda (Linguini's) and I knew this place was a keeper.

Oh dear. I've been to the Skipolini's in Walnut Creek many times and loved it. This time WC was too far away so we decided to try the Concord location. The restaurant itself is visually very nice. It's an old bank and has lots of beautiful wood work remaining. That's about all I can say for my experience. First, and scariest, there was no soap in the ladies room at all. I checked the cleaning schedule noted on the wall. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned for three days. So, tell me, how long were they out of soap? How much food was handled without hands being washed? How many guests ate without washing? Very distressing. I ordered a mushroom, green pepper and olive calzone. My hubby ordered a peparoni pizza. Mine came to the table with a very hard, dry crust that was verging on burnt. I opened it up and found raw mushrooms and partially cooked green peppers. The red sauce was not good - it was sweet! I know there is sugar in red sauce but there shouldn't be SUGAR! I asked the waitress to remove it from my bill and take it away. I got stuck eating some of my husbands pizza, which was decent for what it was. I will not return.

I went to Skipolini's with Rachel H. and crew to try the Prego Pizza. We were hoping to convince Baby H. to make his way out of Rachel's oh-so-cozy belly, but so far he has decided to stay put (I can't say I blame him). Whether or not the Prego Pizza worked, it was delicious! The toppings seem like overkill and will give you horrible smelling breath, but their time-tested combination makes for a really great pizza. Skipolini's has delicious crust which, at the Concord location, you can watch them roll out and spin and toss in the air before it's baked. We also had the family house salad, which was good and the garlic bread topped with cheese which was excellent; I could have made a meal out of that alone. Service was good and we had a really nice time. Baby H., you're missing out on some great food and a fun place for pizza.

A co-worker and I went to the Concord Skip's for lunch today and I was pleasantly surprised. The lunch special includes a giant slice of pizza, three awesome slices of garlic bread, caesar salad, a cookie and soda for under $8. Food was yummy, lunch was cheap. I'll be back.

I had not been to Skipolini's Concord location in a while - somewhat bad experience regarding staff. I was going to take lunch to my mechanics and Skipolini's was close and I knew the pizza would be good. I called and Mike answered the phone. He was really pleasant and super helpful. He almost instantly changed my mind about the staff. When I picked up my pizza I personally told him how great I thought he was and about my previous experience. He apologized and said that the staff had changed (good news). I now feel good about getting a good pizza with a good staff. Plan to go back very soon.

Pesto special pizza was full of interesting toppings but very salty and too many raw onions. Tasted the kids plain cheese and it was "just fine", but nothing to write home about. Family Caesar salad was nice, but not too interesting. We do not like places with TVs in every corner, since the kids stare at them all night. I would like at least one spot without a TV on. Eating outside would have been nice but it was too cold. In all it was fine, but why not go to Rocco's?

Can you give 10 stars? I had never eaten here before today, and will admit that I did not have very high expectations. Pizza place, dime a dozen, right? Wife and I sit and get the boy situated. Server, her name was Audriana (spelling?), greeted us, and promptly returned to take our order. I was impressed at how easily she rattled off the list of ingredients in the house salad. Drinks first (love love love love love their ice). Salads arrived, and were delicious. Bonus points for beets. While we enjoyed our salads, we noticed how busy the place became. Our server had been triple sat within minutes of our arrival, and now looked as though she had 8-10 tables on her own. I was impressed that she still took the time to stop in, check and see how everything was. She was smiling throughout the restaurant and never seemed to be flustered (despite how many tables she was handling). Pizza was awesome (the all meat specialty). Loaded with meats, just the right amount of salty. Refills were prompt as were additional condiments. I spilled my tea (like a dumbass with greasy pizza fingers) and she was quick with the clean up. All in all, fantastic service. I'll tell you from experience, the food can be good, but if the service sucks, you won't go back. And visa versa, food can be okay, but if the service is killer, you'll go there every time. As a restaurant manager myself, I know that impressive waitstaff can come and go....Skipolini's...keep her on the schedule!

If you are pregnant and want that baby out, get the Prego Pizza. My first child arrived a month early, so when I was in my 9th month with my second, I started getting anxious. My cousin bought me the prego pizza on a Thursday night, I finished the pizza by Friday night (I ate a slice or two for every meal) and by Sunday 7am my son was born. Thank you Skipolini's for helping me get through the tail end of my pregnancy!

My first visit to Skipolini's pizza was excellent, and hopefully it will not be my last. In town for a quick visit, decided to stop by here on our way out of town. We had the garlic bread with ranch as well as the BBQ chicken pizza. Both were excellent and the bacon really perfects the BBQ chicken pizza. My son was with us (he's 4) and they have a great option on the menu, I believe it is called the Jr Chef's Club, where they bring out a small pizza (uncooked) and toppings. Children can make their own pizzas and then the kitchen will bake it. My son was thrilled with this and we would likely do it again. The waitstaff was awesome, we found them to be very helpful and friendly to our large (9 persons) group. I recommend their jasmine green tea!

Started the afternoon with a pitcher of cold beer and garlic bread. The garlic bread was delicious it had a nice cheesy crust and crunch. Yum We ordered a medium Prego Pizza wow that was one tasty combination of flavors, and the sauce ohhhh was so delicious. We sat outdoors which for me is plus, love this place, I'll definitely take the drive out for this pizza again.

I've lived in Concord for 4 years and had never been to Skipolini's until date night with the hubster a week ago. Hubby's a pizza fanatic so I suggested this place since I always drive by it. So glad we went! The pizza was awesome! I wanted so badly to eat more than 2 slice but I couldn't cuz I was stuffed. Makes for great leftovers too! Service was fast, efficient, pretty and sweet :D Next time we get a wave of pizza cravings we'll be hitting up this joint.

Let me start by saying I travel a lot, and I absolutely LOVE pizza so I try out local spots everywhere I go! We ordered a medium pepperoni and sausage, it came out pretty timely and let me say WOW!!! It completely exceeded my expectations. I can't say it is the best pizza in the WHOLE state of California, because I visited Ventura in December and fell head over heels with Toppers, but Skipolinis will be my go to place anytime I am in the Oakland area!! **Sidenote, the location was very clean and welcoming and the outside seating was perfect for todays weather**

Okay, let's get one thing out of the way before I begin my review: I am not a fan of pizza. There are very, very few times that I enjoy a slice of pizza, let alone a slice and a half or (gasp) two slices. That said, Skipolini's makes some damn good pizza. Ordered the medium Pesto pizza to split with one hungry dude and one hungry kid. I ate two slices, so you know it was good! Picky kid ate two slices so you know it was really good. Dude's opinion is less meaningful because he will probably eat anything, but still. It was good pizza! Service is fast, prices are reasonable. Eating out on the patio in the sunshine is the only way to do it. Will be coming back again.

I love the sauce they put on their pizzas. The crust was really good too. Normally I don't eat the edges, but it was all so good I ate it all. My sister ordered a spinach salad and shared it with me. Even the salad was really good, just the right amount of dressing, good amount of bacon, onions and hard boiled egg. Too bad this place isn't close to my home, otherwise i could see myself becoming a regular here.

I came here with my gf and her family as our usual Friday dinner out. It was my first time here. Overall, we had quite a filling and satisfying meal. I figure most people would like to read reviews on specific foods, so here it goes (included is the menu description and price for your information): "SKIP'S DIP (Appetizer): Founder Skip Ipsen's famous dipping sauce. An olive oil base prepared with Balsamic vinegar, Italian seasonings, fresh garlic and parmesan. Served with Skip's own piping-hot sliced bread." $5.75 Highlight - The BREAD! Freshly baked, crispy crust, and warm, chewy center. I haven't had enough olive oil/Balsamic vinegar sauces in my life to give this 'famous dipping sauce' a fair review, but I found it good too... a nice balance of mild oil and sharp vinegar to complement the bread. I could still nibble on the good bread by itself like a bag of chips! "CAESAR SALAD: Hand-tossed hearts of Romaine with Caesar dressing, garlic croutons and freshly grated parmesan cheese." Added Chicken, Family Size = $13.00 Highlight - The Chicken! The lettuce was fresh and crisp, the dressing was fairly normal, but the chicken was particularly delicious. It wasn't dry and bland like in other Caesar salads; the chicken pieces were well-marinated, seasoned and cooked just right to keep it juicy. "THE MARTINELLI (white sauce pizza): Roasted Garlic Sauce, Red Bell Pepper, Roasted Garlic, Fresh Spinach, Cayenne Chicken, Sun Dried Tomatoes, Parmesan Cheese" Family Size = $25.40 Highlight - The Sauce! A very hearty pizza more on the deep-dish side (i prefer thin crust). The ingredients were fresh and work very well together with the cream garlic sauce. It would've been nicer with a more crunchy crust, where I can hold the slice without it flopping over or having to fold it and eat it like a taco. Problem solved: I placed a leftover slice in the oven and toasted the crust to my liking! I would be happy to come back here again to try a different pizza. I am surprised they don't have any pasta dishes though.

Skipolini's has opened a new chapter in the chain's saga. From the ashes of TR's Bar & Grill, Kent & Yvette Ipsen have created a new atmosphere on the plaza. They have enclosed more of the patio, added heaters and awnings and made a very pleasant alfresco dining area in downtown Concord. Inside they have added a showplace kitchen, fun decor additions, and revamped the facilities to a modern state. The staff are attentive, friendly and helpful, even when the place is hopping. I have to admit, I really am not a fan of pizza by any stretch of the imagination, but even I enjoyed the BBQ chicken pizza. If you should be a pizza fan, there are plenty of choices to consider, above and beyond that usual '2 or more item' styles. I'm looking forward to our next visit so I can try out some of the other menu choices that looked tempting. Aside from pizza the menu offers appetizers, soups and salads for starters, meal sized salads, panini and piadine sandwiches, and a variety of beers and wines to wash it down with. (Try the sangria, its quite pleasant on a warm summer evening) This location has been open only a hair over a week and already seems to have become a popular spot. So go now while there are still tables left and no long lines.

Great Pizza. Great location. My family and I normally visit this location about once per month. We'll either stop by just before going to the movie theater accross the street or right before taking my kids to Todos Santos Park. Great place to catch up with friends over pizzza and beer. We've always received great service and I highly recommend the Martinelli pizza.

Wow! Pizza is delicious here. My brother suggested we go here and I was pleasantly surprised by the A-mazing pizza we had. We ordered the family size half pesto primavera and half hawaiian (pineapple & ham). I know, sounds strange to have a half pesto sauce & half tomato sauce pizza, but it worked out! My favvv..was the pest primavera. MMM...Pesto Sauce, Zucchini, Artichoke Hearts, Fresh Tomatoes, Oregano, and Parmesan. I've had pesto pizza before, but this place is a hit! The veggies were FRESH! I could just taste the freshness and a lot of cheeeeze! (i liked it) Pizza crust was baked perfectly. Portions are HUGE! We ordered the family size for 5 adults. One slice can fill you up. We only had one slice a piece. And so, we had half the pizza left to take home. We sat outside because it was such a nice day outside. Wait staff was friendly and very attentive. I definitely would go back here again. It is in the burbs, but don't hate on the burbs..ppl were very friendly. Kid friendly place. My niece is having her third birthday party here. Update (August 2009): Went here today for lunch. Still as good as the first time I went. MMMM..the palermo w/ white sauce pizza is the best I've ever had. Seriously, this is some yummy yummy pizza! And prices are reasonable. A medium pizza for 4 hungry adults is all it took for us. Oh, btw...do not get their chicken wings though...so not worth it. Let's just say we ordered wings, but instead were given a leaves of lettuce w/ 7 tiny buffalo wings. Can I get some buffalo wings with that lettuce?! Overall, I still give this place 5 stars. Great service and great pizza :)

This pizzeria is fun and loud enough to feel OK bringing kids without feeling that we'd have to keep shushing them and yet not too loud that a gossipy girls dinner is out of the question. Decent food, decent servers, cute decor and even board games to keep the kiddies occupied; it's hard not to like this place. As an aside, this place is somewhat famous for their Prego Pizza; expectant moms from all around who are almost at or past their expected delivery date have tried this pizza with hopes that it'll start their labor. Does it work? Well, we'll never know, but it didn't work for my friend (she tried it and no luck).

Friendly staff, reasonable prices, great pizza (I especially like their garlic white sauce), and decent beer. What more could I want in a pizza joint?

  • Adam L.

Always good food, with good prices. Me and my girl had the Martinelli (her fav). Appetizer of garlic bread, two drinks was $38. However, I called ahead to get the pizza ready, by the time we got there, but it made no difference. So don't bother, if you think it will save time.

I love their gluten free & dairy free pizza. Its as close to "real" pizza as you can get. I do wish someone would develop a puffier crust, but in the meantime this is the best. Thanks Skips!!!!

Another one of our work day favorite's... I am beginning to think that deep down I truly hate my job and rate every place around it 4 stars and up just because I am AWAY from work... But nah, I love my job and this place is the ish. Daily lunch specials get you a MASSIVE slice of pizza, garlic toast, ceasar salad and a chocolate chip cookie, all for $7.75. It is a ton of food! We had the special today which happened to be my favorite - barbecue chicken. They are typically very fast, too, so not at all difficult to make in under an hour. The service is always great, too. Even though it was 20 degrees in downtown Concord today, we asked if we could sit on the patio, (which is awesome in the summer) and she politely obliged, even though we were DEFINITELY joking. Plus, we have gone in there with 8 people before, all paying separately, with check cards, and failed to tell the servers until checkout time. When I was a server, this made me want to jab a fork in someone's neck. No such servers here! They're always super considerate and friendly. They have TV's in case you absolutely despise your company, (I did today,) so while he rambled nonsensically about World of Warcraft, the Liberator and Microsoft SharePoint I just simply nodded my head for 45 minutes and watched ESPN. Craving a great slice of pie? Give Skipolini's a try! (My god, that was so corny. I am going to jab a fork into my OWN neck...)

I love this place in Concord. we go here for lunch with my coworkers almost once a week! i am happy with the daily lunch special with the special you get lots of food for a good price. we like the outdoor seating and the waitress was very busy but gave great service!

Excellent pizza! Skipolini's has a great chewy crust. We usually get the Combo pizza, it is very filling and satisfying. The pizza is a little on the expensive side though

  • Jessamyn W.

I'm rather impressed with this place. We had a pretty hefty custom order (half cheese, half pepperoni with 3 of the pieces without cheese) and they didn't mess it up! It's not that expensive and pretty filling (a large was enough to feed all 5 of us). Service was fast and friendly too. I would definitely come back!

Ok, I am a pizza addict...I freakin love pizza. But it is hard to find yummy pizza, and at Skipolini's I have found it. My favs are the prego pizza and just plain pepporoni. They also have yummy ceasar salad. I have eaten here multiple times and gotten pizza to go, and they were always go. I don't eat here as much as would like to since I am not in the area anymore, but when I am around I love to stop here. Their service is okay, not exceptional and not bad, but I love that they have toys for kids to play with and they have a huge basket of jolly ranchers for after you eat, way better then mints. Damn, I am craving skipolinis just writing this review. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

One if the better pizza joints in concord, throw their own dough, many beers on tap, love the BBQ chicken pizza which is not overdone with sauce, just great toppings

The girl answering the phone was perfectly nice very helpful, as was the delivery driver, but the pizza and salad left something to be desired. I ordered a gluten free rice cheese veggie pizza (i know you're thinking wtf that sounds horrible) but neither the crust or the rice cheese are my problem. the veggie pizza was really an onion pizza. not carmelized onions but just overwhelming amount of crunchy raw onion. i'm not anti onion, but this was too much! it definitely overwhelmed any other flavor. I like to taste my food. same with the salad (easier to pick it out of that- impossible to pick on the pizza). I realize with a different crust it takes different cooking time- but maybe that's something the cooks should fine tune. There are a lot of places that do gluten free that still have bomb pizza. I doubt I'd order again, end up just making my own.

Fun place for groups. Good service. BEST FOUNTAIN SODA EVER (except for this one time I found this freaky chunky stuff in my dr. pepper, like it had gotten to the bottom of the machine or something, but I chose to let it slide after receiving a new one with no problems), and delicious pizza combinations. Even if you're a vegetarian, there is a divine pizza pie called the "Primavera" with artichokes, tomotoes, and feta cheese. Great for a group of about 4 people, and there is lovely outdoor seating next to the fountain which is great for the Spring weather! I recommend it as a fun little dining spot in the Concord area. Pros: Good for small groups and families, nice ambience Cons: Can get to be a little pricey

I added a star to this because my family, husband and I went earlier in the week for my husbands birthday and I must say, we had a much better experience. Not only was the pizza better this time around, but the service was better (although it was an off weekday, so we were one of only a few customers there.) So yes, big improvement. Lets just see if it continues.

Nothing to brag about. Pizza are good but the size just isnt realistic for the price you pay. The Prego Pizza takes about a week before the baby actually pops out. The instructions said to have two slices. She did but the baby still didnt come out till another week!

I was born with good pizza in my blood. Raised all my life in the area we had, Sorrento's, Pizano's (gone), Melo's, and Skip's. I remember the family pizza nights at the Clayton Skips when us kids would swing on the huge pine tree out front and run all along the side of the place, and the saw dust on the floor made Skips a forever memory. This location is much different from those days. Its way more corporate feeling, and not enough flare or character as the original skips. The pizza, ehhh, not really sold, at least not like I remember it. Of course I used to consume massive amounts of meat covered pizza and now I'm lucky to finish 3 veggie slices. The pizza was just ok, hence my rating. The atmosphere was marginal as well. It just lacked the character.

Eh. Order it well done if you're getting delivery - otherwise it will be a soggy mess when it arrives. Even bad pizza is still pizza - but this is just so-so. Overpriced and cardboardy. we only eat it because Melo's doesn't deliver

My wife, Mother, and I all are here on a Saturday night and we had a great experience overall. We got sat right away (it was pretty early about 5pm). The servers were very nice and energetic. Every one seemed to move quickly and in general seemed like they wanted to be there and enjoyed themselves. My wife and had the creamy pesto pizza which was aw some, it tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly. We also got the bread appetizer with the oil and balsamic dip which was very good as well (huge portion). Overall very happy.

So we arrived for date night on a perfect summer evening and it was ruined as soon as we walked in. There were several people that came in after us and had water and drinks before anyone came to our table. We had to go up to the hostess to get water. Or spinach salad came out and it was decent, but not better then any other restaurant. The pizza came out and it was edible, but not really that great. I think they may have changed the chef because the pizza (at least to go) has been pretty decent, and this time it was just too soggy and not that chewy crunch that we usually have. Thank goodness for the frozen yogurt place around the corner, it saved our night. I would have probably given two stars if itwasn't for the terrible service.

This is my boyfriend's favorite pizza place and for good reason. It is absolutely delicious. I've have some good pizza in my life but this was amazing. Just the simple pepperoni pizza was fantastic and worth getting. It didn't need much of anything on it.

What can I say, its a pizza joint. The pizza is pretty traditional although you can get some crazy combos. The environment is VERY family oriented. I have stumbled in during a few brats birthday parties and more than once I've come in when the little league was having an after game pizza party. I enjoy the outdoor seating most since the inside can get a bit noisy especially when parents have their kids in tow. The staff is nice and very helpful. They have a good selection of beer and wine. There are a few Tv's strategically located around the bar? area. The pizza is tasty and low fuss. I eat here at least once a month.

Doughy-airy bland crust. Had the creamy pesto pizza and BBQ chicken and both were underwhelming. I've had much better pizza elsewhere. Won't be returning.

Excellent pizza and great service! I like to come in here between lunch and dinner, order a small pizza and beer, bring a book, and relax on the patio. The staff have an amazing memory and remember things about what you ordered the time before, and they are very friendly and like to joke around with the customers. The pizza... oh god where can I start! It's delicious! The crust is fresh, the ingredients are fresh, and the sauce!!!!! mmmmm I normally don't like a lot of sauce on my pizza's, but I swear this is the one place I wouldn't mind asking for extra sauce. Anyway, great location, great fun, and a worthy spot for you and your friends to have good pizza and beer.

Nothing real surprising or outstanding from this pizza place. The pizza creations are good, the service is so-so, and the prices seem a little bit steep. Every time I go there, it is some small problem that seems to come up, the wait people taking forever with the checks or food or whatever, never seems to be 100% smooth. I liked the location in Clayton better. More down to earth and friendly/fast service.

Ask anyone: I'm a legendary pizza eater. Maybe one of the top ten consumers of pizza in the Greater Bay Area. I could eat it morning, noon and night and never get sick of it. And I'm not picky either; I'll go for your gourmet fancypants Antica pizzas or a greasy Fat Slice. But even I've got my limits. Skipolini's is maybe not the worst pizza I've ever had, but it's definitely the worst I've had at a sit-down restaurant that purports to be a pizzeria. I know so many local people who love it that I keep going back every 5-10 years, thinking I must have just gone on an off night or something. Nuh-uh. The pepperoni has an unpleasant raw taste to it and is somehow still swimming in grease, sauce and cheese are bland and overabundant, service is poor. I remember it being pricey too, but honestly any amount higher than free isn't worth it. And not to be snobby about it, but every grotty little child in the county will swarm you there. If you've got friends in the Concord area with a hankering to go out for pizza tonight, push them towards Rocco's or Melo's. Or even a road trip to San Ramon for Zachary's or Danville for Amici's. But skip Skipolini's. Costco makes a better pie.

The restaurant has patio seating with a nice waterfall view. The first one just a regular pepperoni. The pizza was piled high with pepperoni which we happen to love. The pizza had too much sauce which was just plain no special seasonings or spices. No complaints just nothing special to differentiate it from any pizza chain. A little pricey for average pizza.

Good food and fun atmosphere, but be careful if you need the servers to actually know what they're serving you. My wife ordered the spinach salad, which, according to the menu, comes with pine nuts. Tonight, the salad arrived with macadamia nuts, to which she has a serious allergy. When questioned about the macadamia nuts, two food service employees claimed the macadamia nuts were pine nuts. When pressed, they admitted that they were out of pine nuts and in fact, tonight's salad contained macadamia nuts. She eventually got a tasty replacement salad, but if this kind of service would send you to the emergency room, you might want to think twice about dining here.

This was my first visit and I wasn't disappointed. We had a party of 5, and a very attentive waiter and server. We started off with the garlic bread with cheese and ranch, which was delicious (probably helped that it was a 9 pm dinner). We ordered a white sauce pizza, The Bettega, which had LOTS of toppings and was overall pretty good. My only complaint is that it was a little too salty - and I like my food salty. Overall, I had a good experience, and would come here again to try out their other menu items.

This place is not bad. They surely have a lot of choices. I love how there is a water fountain to view at from the tables inside/outside. This place does get crowded during the sport seasons which is everyday.

The first time we came here it was a weird experience. The server basically came to our table like it was a problem that he had to wait on us. He greeted us by saying what's up. Weird to me. Anyways, the pizza was amazing!!! So good! It was a busy evening and everyone that was working looked confused and stressed out which was semi entertaining. It didn't seem there was a manager or anyone in charge which seemed really odd. We went back last week and it was earlier so not busy. We sat on the nice patio and our server was really great, pizza was sooo good again although it didn't come out the way we ordered it, we decided to eat it anyways. We will be back.

What a fabulous location for a very good pizza parlor. There are so many positivo components to this historic location, and what they've done, I think every resident of Concord should give this place a chance. Parents and families should be specially pleased. This used to be a local restaurant and bar (sniff sniff) that had a special spot for many. TR's was its name, I believe. The antique classic bar is gone, and the purveyors have tried to play up the historical relevance of this place - which was originally the National Bank of Concord - built in 1911. When you step inside, there is a proclamation letter from 1911, as well as a bank leger, both from 1911. There are also two large pictures from its early days high on one wall. In addition, this place offers an almost one-of-a-kind outdoor eating area. The previous patio has been doubled in size, and partially "hugs" a large fountain. (Children were playing around it when I made my visit.) There is a nice awning, and this place should be a primo location on those hot Concord days. Food? Yes, the Prego pizza - which had garlic, onions, pepperoni, and MORE, was very good. The large Prego was $23.99, and smaller pizzas were $12-14. They also offer multiple sandwich choices for approximately $8.50. Beer and sangria is also available. Service was attentive. Parking - A - a free garage next door Location - A - downtown, & across from a huge movie theatre! (Brendan) Kid Friendly - A - includes a bookshelf of kids games & etch-a-sketch Historical relevance - A+ Pizza - B+/A- - I'd need to try more items If I had one wish, I'd hope that the owners add MORE of the black-and-white photos from its early years. Add in one from the TR days. And why not a binder somewhere, with more Concord black-and-white photos of "how things used to be"? In our mini mall, throw-away society, its neat to have a building with some sense of history & presence.

I've lived in Concord most of my life, and growing up the biggest pizza treat was a trip to Skipolini's Pizza in old Clayton. In the past 20 years they have expanded to Antioch and Walnut Creek and now, finally, Concord. Let's face it - if you know the original in Clayton - located in an old home replete with sawdust on the floors and diners eating in old bedrooms or on the redwood deck - there is no comparison. Well, except the pizza. It has remained delicious, unique and authentic. It's simply up there as one of the Bay Area's best pizzerias. Sure, Zachary's has the best Chicago style, but for the classic 'thin' pizza, you've got to try it. I actually think the decor in the Concord location is perfect - the building used to be a bank back in the day - I mean WAY back, like the 1800s. They designed with clever, but modern, decor to mimic the bank and give it a flavor that showcase the tired old chains like Round Table and Pizza Hut for what they are - gaudy pizza factories for people eager to shove their face with food while their kids run amok. Happily, Skip's has remained family-friendly, appealing and comfy. You don't feel rushed, you feel like having another beer and realizing that life ain't all that bad. The Archille's Heel, of course, is price. But hey, if you want a double pepperoni with cheese-stuffed crust and an oreo-cookie dessert pie for $12... this ain't your kinda place anyway. Another huge 'win' in the addition of restaurants to Todos Santos Plaza, having Skipolini's downtown is another notch in old Concord's belt. Downtown is becoming cool again, and the porn theater goers and meth freaks of the 70s/80s have had to venture elsewhere.

Okay, I love Skipolini's pizza and am usually at their Walnut Creek location at least once a month. So I was so excited to hear that they were opening a Skipolini's just around the corner from me in Concord Todos Santos Plaza. The location is great: right next to the free parking lot (parking in downtown Walnut Creek can be frustrating). They got rid of the awful sawdust that they have in the Walnut Creek location. The pizza was just as good BUT the service was LOUSY. I think it was do to being just opened and I think it might have been our waiter's first job ever. Our pizza took 45 minutes to reach our table and our table was completely ignored. But I will give them a second chance and venture over there soon.

About 3 weeks back, myself, my buddies Will and Solo set to pull an all nighter to install air suspension in another friend's car. Since Ed was buying we ending up getting pizza from Skip's in Concord. I was glad to see we got some great pizza and I realized something about Skip's pizza I never did before. The entire night the pizza stayed fresh. It was like it came out of the oven and stayed warm all evening. The boxes really kept in the heat. Nothing is better than when your tired pounding energy drinks like Skipolini's pizza.

As always, the food was great,i nexpensive, and served with a smile. We sat outside with my 4 (almost 5) year old son. The weather was great, and my son made his own pizza. The place was packed and almost all families. Great simple beverage list, and I will probably be there tomorrow.

Our last night in concord was highlighted by a great pizza on the patio. We sat next to a water fountain and watched the sun disappear. The place was packed but the service was great. We had never been there before and ordered waaaay to much food, but now we have leftovers. The pizza crust is delicious.

Get the sangria pitcher, pair it with the pesto chicken pizza and you're more than good to go. Largest pizza + sangria + ceasar salad = less than $45 for 5 friends....something you just can't get in the city. It's all about the sangria though.

I had the Palermo, made with a white garlic sauce, chicken, artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes. It was very good. I am glad to see alternatives to the usual tomato sauce. The caesar salad was also very good. They've added outdoor seating, with flower containers, glass wind barriers, strings of white lights, and heaters. It looks very nice. Good job! (This is located Downtown by Todos Santos Plaza, across from the movie theater.)

We had a group event at Skipolini's in Walnut Creek and they were super accommodating. The price was right and they brought us all the pizza we wanted, plus salad and soda. The server (wish I knew his name) kept coming back to make sure we had enough pizza, etc. The pizza is good too! Only downside was that the kids' play area was sort of loud, but what do you expect? It's a family pizza place.

I used to go to the Clayton location a lot when I was in high school... it was where we hung out and now theres a new location right by my work! The new location is really nice and modern looking but still kept the nostalgia of the old bank, it's nothing like the Clayton location and the service was really efficient and friendly! I tried the steak and mushroom panini for the first time, it was really good! There's outdoor seating on the patio, if you want to eat outside.

Skipolinis is a decent pizza place. They do a good job making the pizza and it is always fun to go to place where you can watch them. They tend to go overboard on the ingredients so I tend to stick with one to three toppings. The put a ton of cheese on the pizza but they put it under the toppings so everything just falls all over the place which is why I pefer less toppings on their pies. The service is decent, friendly and quick.

Great location. I had a large pepperoni pizza with olives: the crust was kinda chewy and they surely were not selfish with their toppings. I ordered half olives and they piled it on.

Great tasting pizza, and a large selection of beer on tap. What else do you need? Well, the prices are a tad high for me, about $9 for a personal pizza. Then again, it's pretty good and fills you up, so it's not a big deal. They also let us park our motorcycles right outside near the patio, which is pretty cool. Service isn't that great, you basically have to go out of your way to get their attention.

I've only been here once, but so far so good! The pizza is very tasty. Nice crust, good sauce, and lots of toppings! My new favorite pizza place outside of the city. I'll have to try the sangria when we go next.

kid friendly skipolinis with its toys and uno card games is just awesome. The warm wooden decor with a homage to the previous tenant an old bank ( complete with a bank teller mural.) I asked for a large half pesto veggie and half meat combo. the crust is crispy and not too much sauce. perfection! The chicken ceasar could use a bit less dressing but just wonderful. Its a family favorite!

I've always been a fan; grew up in the Pittsburg-Antioch area, and Skip's was the go-to place for "fancy" pizza for my family. My mother hated going there because she thought the area was seedy, so we opted for delivery. Anyway, the newest Skip's in Concord, I believe, is the kind of pizza place you'd wanna take the whole family. Nice setting in the old national bank, open kitchen (my niece enjoyed watching the pizza makers spin dough in the air), big televisions with the game on, and even some card and board games for the kids to play with. The servers were more than accommodating, especially with my cousin who doesn't know how to eat or serve herself some water; she managed to spill the pitcher each time she poured, and spill her food all over the place. Servers were quick to clean up, give her extra napkins, and new plates and utensils. Now on to the food. Ordered a family half cheese and a half chicken pesto mushroom. If you love mushrooms, do order them with your pizza! They're huge slices, freshly cut, and just barely baked into the pizza. My mouth is watering at the thought of it. The pesto had a nutty bite to it that just added to the texture of the soft freshly baked pizza. You know pizza is good when the cheese runs... Omg...I think I'm going to eat the leftovers that was intended for my parents. The cheese was so-so, but I'm bias because I think Sbarro cheese is hella bomb. It's good for kids: plain and simple cheese, tomato sauce, dough. Nothing fancy about that. Also ordered the garlic bread. My niece said that it burned her tongue. What she meant was that the garlic was really strong, you'll get a little kick at the tip of your tongue from it. The price came out to around $26.00 for 4 people. Not bad at all.

The food is tasty. The service is AWFUL. I went here today to celebrate my birthday with coworkers and somehow the service continued to get worse as our lunch continued. They said they didn't have enough lunch specials for everyone, the food took forever to arrive, no drink refills, and one coworker didn't get her meal till the very end! It seemed like our server was on her own, but she still could have let us know what was going on. I was very dissatisfied with Skipolini's.

I think the food is pretty average here. Have tried a couple of the pizzas and some of the entree salads. The best thing I've had here is the grilled tomato and mozarella panini. The main reason I ever go back is for the sangria, it's pretty good!

I love beer. I mean, I really love it and am kind of borderline alcoholic in that I will never, ever, EVER not finish my beer. When I had dinner at Skipolini's I was almost tempted to walk out without finishing my pitcher. Let me explain. We ordered a medium pizza and a pitcher of beer. Drank the first pitcher while we were waiting for the pizza and then ordered another when the pizza came. The pizza, by the way, was delicious and their ranch is absolutely to die for. When we were done eating the second pitcher still had not come so we decided that the next time we saw our waiter (which was a rare occurrence) we would tell him to just forget about it. However, after about 10 more minutes (and about 45 minutes after we ordered it) our second pitcher of beer came, followed quickly by the check. By that time, we were full, tired, and just wanted to go home. Of course, we finished it, but it was a stretch. Great food, nice atmosphere, crappy service. Maybe we just went on a bad night. The ranch gives this place an extra star.

This is a 'me too' to Kelleye B.s review. She and I went again with my Dad on a weeknight and once again the food was really good and we had no service problems. We sat inside this time and to a former TR's regular it seemed really weird. The 3 of us discussed how the place would likely not end up being a typical hang-out for little leagues and big birthday parties (which is fine by us) but the prices should keep the families coming in. We had a family-style salad with dressing on the side, a medium white-sauce pizza (can't remember the name) and a pitcher of sangria, and the bill came to $45 (minus tip). To us that's pretty cheap. The pizza and the sangria were fantastic, but the salad is pretty Denny's frankly. Iceberg lettuce, some onions and beets with tiny little croutons. Edible and filling but not up to the standard of the gourmet pizza. We'll be back.

After being raised on Melo's pizza (not a bad thing at all it was my favorite) I was introduced to Skipolini's pizza about 5 years ago. Anyone who has gone to Skipolini's understands why I have only been back to Melo's twice in the past 5 years. I have been eating pizza since birth and believe I have found my home. As if the pizza wasnt enough, I have gotten to know and become friends with the staff including Victor whom is the manager (an amazing one at that) always funny, friendly, and helpful. A server by the name Adriana whom is away at college right now used to be our server every week. The first time I took my family there (6 of us) she took the time to get to know my family ( she already knew my wife and I) The next week my family and I returned she knew/ remembered not only their orders, but their names as well. Skipolini's is our pizza place now and for our future generations as long as the pizza and staff dont change ;-) Happy Customer

omg really bad service. our waitress today was over the top sugary sweet to a fault. when we walked in we stood there for a few mins before this guy got up from the table to seat us. I thought they were customers. the place got packed quick with one waitress. she and a bus boy both broke a glass while we were there. our salad came really late cuz she was too busy to help us and others plus she was taking phone orders!!! the ranch dressing tasted like and was as runny as water. this place has ambiance and a great location but that's about it. the pizza was just okay. it looked a lot better than it tasted. I would have rather had the last honest pizza and my 92 year old granny who knows good food came up with the same conclusion. oh wait...the pepsi was great and I loved the crushed ice. never again for me....

Skippolinis pizza in Clayton used to be good, we got one delivered for my son and his buddies overnighter 6 months ago - we ate not even half, it was so salty we threw it away the next a.m., swearing Skips off forever, we had to go last night to the Concord one after baseball with the whole team, I was hesitant, but the new place looked so nice in Todos Santos - we ordered, and the only folks who got sick the next day were us four adults, who ordered the white/cream sauce pizza - God it hit all of us this a.m., were lucky for porta potties at YVE!!! Our baseball day was quite compromised, thankfully none of our players had any of that pizza. Letter to owner is on the way...quality and safe food practices are certainly not practiced.

Do not go for lunch! I'm always happy with the food but the service is so slow, even when the restaurant is practically empty. Besides being slow, the daytime waitress is rude and makes you feel like you're troubling her for coming in. A few times when we've come in she just hands us a stack of menus, a bundle of silverware, and tells us to have a seat anywhere. Last week, after waiting for about 15 minutes without any service I got up and left. I'm pretty sure I finished my meal at I Love Terriyaki before she would have even taken my order.

Stopped in today for Lunch. Even though I've lived in Concord for 10+ years I'd never been to any other of their places. The food was good (I had a chicken pepper(somthing) panini and my workmate had the lunch special. The service was friendly but slow, and it felt stingy to not provide free refills on soda.

Ive been there 2 times with my boyfriend, and we both like the same toppings on pizza...the only thing is that we have a special way of ordering it...he doesn't like pizza with sauce and i do so we usually order half sauce and the other without it, i was very surprised to see that when we were ready to order they already knew what we were going to get. Staff is very friendly and always making sure you have everything you need, i would def recommend this place to anybody pizza is delicious!

we could use one of these in the city. wow. not sure in what style this pizza is cooked, but it is quite damn delicious. also, try the breadsticks appetizer. you have to get two - the one with "skip sauce" (which is really just balsamic vinegar) and the garlic one. the salads are delicious - not just rusty lettuce like most pizza joints try to pull off. and the crust is soft, tender, not burned, and thick. wow. not worth a drive out to walnut creek or concord for, but if you're out there, it's definitely worth heading over to.

I was thrilled to finally find a great pizza place. I'm a recent east coast transplant. Before I found Skipolini's in Clayton I tried at least half a dozen places and was convinced there was no decent pizza anywhere in the East Bay. I couldn't have been happier when Skipolini's opened a location closer to us in Concord - and the service is much better than in Clayton, which isn't that great. I've been to the Walnut Creek location a couple of times too and have no complaints.

Went for a large (12) business lunch, ordered ahead of time, and everybody received what they ordered. Those that ordered pizza seemed content, the individual pizza is definitely enough for two people. Those that ordered pannini (I guess that's what they were) were pleased, they were large too. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad, the chicken was great, the salad was drenched in creamy dressing which I am not particularly fond of. My coworkers beef salad originally was served with beef that was very well done and completely swimming in dressing. Upon inquiring about the doneness of the beef (which cannot regularly be ordered rare, but since they were cooking up a new batch of steak provided it anyway) the waitress kindly took the salad and came back with one with a normal amount of dressing, and as mentioned above, perfectly cooked rare steak. I would definitely take the steak salad (i tried a bit of the meat) over the Caesar if it was regularly offered this way. Overall, this place turned out to be a average-good lunch spot good to go to with coworkers. My salad was somewhat expensive for the size (i am hungry already), but tasty.

Great pizza- black and white was really good! Waitress was awesome. Only had to wait about 5 minutes for seating on a busy Friday night. Neat decor with it being an old bank and what not. Minus one star for the wine selection. Don't sell me a glass of Cupcake wine for 6 bucks when we all know what the bottle costs- just sayin!

Just had a pizza delivered. Soggy and thin. The crust is the stalest I have ever had. Hard and dry. For $33 absolutely terrible. Could have gotten a better pizza from Melos for the price. Annoyed is an understatement. Last time I'll be ordering pizza from here.

My girlfriend and my daughter both their pizzas. I not so much. after eating half of my calzone (which lacked mozzarella and ricotta-not enough).I discovered an ant on my plate, my daughter also mentioned she had seen ants. I brought to our waitress' attention and she told us that she would get a manager to address this. Waited and no manager showed. They waited until we left and offered no comp on our bill. I will not eat there again.

I really appreciate Skipolini having gluten free and dairy free options for those of us with severe allergies. Their pizzas are delish but the price tag is hefty! I love the Clayton location but frequent concord because it's more convenient. However every time I visit there is always something that makes me think twice about returning. My most recent trip was the last straw. My pizzas were burnt! Our waitress forgot the lemon for our water. When she brought it out. She carried a lemon slice in here bare hands and gave it to us. Which is disgusting considering she had been accepting payments at the register and taking orders with her dirty pen and notepad seconds before. With basic cleanliness not being common sense to the staff here. I can't help but wonder what goes on in the kitchen. If I feel like skippolini in the future. I'll be in walnut creek or go to Clayton. Stay away from this one.

Worst service ever. Came in a friday night wasnt acknowledged nor greeted upon walking in. Hostesses and probably a manager completely ignored me for approximately 4 min before I was noticed. My waiter was inattentive and careless. Ordered a kids pizza where upon completion is supposed to be picked up to finish cooking....it wasnt picked up until a server came with my pizza. My appetizer hadn't been dropped off yet and my boyfriend didnt receive his drink until we asked. Our waiter came to our table and asked "what was the problem?" He didn't even say sorry for forgetting to pick up my son's pizza or for the wait. Was hoping to at least get a discount for such terrible service. Not even! Last time I'll go to the this location.

The pregnancy pizza did not work for me. Don't believe the hype! However, i thought it was really tasty. I now have 20 lbs to lose post-baby. Damn cravings! I'd eat the pizza even if I wasn't pregnant. Try it out!

Went in on a Saturday night and the place was packed. They were woefully understaffed for a busy Saturday night. We ordered 3 items, 2 pizzas and an order of wings. One pizza arrived, the wings arrived 5 mins after the first pizza, and the second pizza arrived at least 10-15 minutes after the wings...horrible. The timing was as if we were eating a "course" meal at a fancy restaurant, but it's a pizza place. The quality of the food was ok, but definitely worse than it has been in the past. Much more greasy than I remember. Due to the fact that they were understaffed, I had to go and get a box for my pizza and the bill...we were charged incorrectly on one of the items. :((( Not a good overall experience. I gave 2 stars because I like the skipolinis in clayton, and don't want to damage the brand too much

Doing the Friday lunch thing with the boyz at work. We decided to eat lunch at Skipolini's and eat outside on the nicely laid rear patio. We order two pizzas between 6 guys and it was more then filling. The first one was of the Prego Pizzas. Read below: The Prego Pizza* (Our world-famous labor-inducing masterpiece... It really works!!) Salami, Pepperoni, Ham, Mushrooms, Olives, Bell Peppers, Extra Onions, Sausage, Ground Beef, Linguisa, Extra Garlic, Parmesan and Oregano This is one zesty pizza, at $28.00 is isn't cheap but with all of the toppings I think it was well worth the money. The other pizza we order was a garlic chicken with bell peppers and artichoke hearts. Not as zesty and appealing to the taste buds but very tasty. I thought we had really good service. The prices are little higher then other pizzas but this is premium pizza. Buon gusto.

Love love love this place! Their pizza is the bomb! I crave it weekly and that's really bad lol they have messed up on a pizza before but they corrected it and we're very nice about it. I'm never disappointed when I go there. I am a pizza lover and I have to say hands down top of my pizza list. Also there is a male server who goes by "JJ" he is the best server I have had there. He makes you feel welcome and he is so the most polite person I have ever met. Ask for him :)

After a long hiatus from Skip's after a horrible phone delivery order gone WAY wrong (see my original review), BF and I returned for dinner. I've never had any problems actually eating in their cute establishment - it's cozy and clean, and feels like a real old fashioned pizzeria. They play fun and lively tunes overhead, and the atmosphere in general is professional but casual. We ordered their house salad with blue cheese, a medium combination pizza (hold the olives - no problem), and two root beers, and I must say it was a delicious dinner (and lunch the next day!). I don't agree with other reviewers about their white sauce pizzas, their classic offerings are really their strength. Their combo is one of the best I've ever had. Their sauce has great seasoning and tastes fresh and tomato-y, and their meat and veggies all taste very fresh and cooked perfectly. And their crust is totally out of this world, it forces one to overeat cuz it's just so tasty! I also love their pepperoni pizza, and their Hawaiian is delicious. So I will take my previous experience as a lesson learned - count on Skip's as a great dine-in destination in Todos Santos, but proceed with caution when getting anything delivered.

So I have to say my review is for gluten free pizza which was brought home for me after my boys enjoyed a new award ceremony at the restaurant- anyway, I have to say not only was the pizza less then good, it was soggy! The crust wasn't fresh or good just totally lacked flavor. I was so disappointed! The cheese lacked any melting at all and the tomatoes looked as though the could have come from a can ! Yuck! Everything about this pizza was just awful!

  • Jocelyn L.

Had their combo pizza delivered at work. And wow it honestly was the worst pizza I've had in years. Nothing was redeemable about it Crust: my main factor in rating pizza. Thick crust type but it didn't do the pizza any good. It was bland and had a slight burnt taste. The bottom was tough and that's all I can say about the texture. Pizza crust should never feel like you're gnawing at it like a dog. Toppings- standard pepperoni, olives, mushrooms, peppers, onions, sausage. Nothing made it extraordinary. Cheese- also nothing to talk about. Not much depth of flavor it just got the job done. So I'm sorry to say I wouldn't order skipolinis unless it was free.

Skipolini's is good pizza, but the Concord store's service has been taking a nose dive. Tonight they could'nt be bothered to answer the phones. I had the Walnut Creek store call to find out what was going on. They said Concord had fixed the problem, but Concord continued not to answer their phones for over half an hour. Call the other stores. Don't bother with Concord.

It's been several years since I've been here, and had dinner last week here with my brother. We ordered the all-meat pizza (added olives and mushrooms), and also got garlic cheesy bread. To be honest, I thought the garlic cheesy bread was better than the pizza! Yikes!! But, the pizza wasn't terrible. I'm just not that big of a fan of linguica or ground beef on pizza (but my brother is), so I can't fault them for that. The dough came out perfect, and the pizza was packed with flavor.

My cousins and I went here on a Sunday evening and told us about the "Prego Pizza" they've raved about and I definitely wanted to give it a try. The layout of the place was super cute! We got seated immediately after we checked in even though I expected it to be super busy for a Sunday evening! Our waitress was nice and got us waters right away. We ordered our food and it arrived shortly thereafter. We got the garlic bread and hot wings as appetizers - HELLA good! Then we ordered the family size Prego Pizza and it was extremely filling for 6 of us and there was even one slice left! I knocked down one star because our server forgot our water and most of our party was only drinking water so we needed it filled more often than usual. Other than that, excellent service and yummy pizza!

Ask for Mike/Michael for your server, he is as fast as lightning and attentive. Get the garlic bread with cheese! It is 10/10! The BBQ pizza would be more awesome if you ordered light BBQ sauce and added Pineapples! The all meat pizza is awesome. Great atmosphere, great service, super fresh ingredients. Woot woot!

Four stars for great delivery people and consistency with great pizza. O'chaska is always a go to with the rich and creamy white garlic sauce, huge chunks of chicken, spinach and sun dried tomatoes. Solid choice. Another fave is the meat-for-days Prego pizza! Worth every penny if you are a meat lover! Tons of sausage, pepperoni, and what not to fill you up. I did notice that the prices went up and they are now charging for delivery. Hmmm. But, I guess we'll chalk it up to convenience... If you are in the area, the location is great. Convenient to downtown Concord and movie theater. You won't be disappointed! One note: Skip the garlic/cheese bread. It leaves a lot to be desired and it seems like it's frozen. Go for the Skip's Dip instead.

Came in with two friends just as the Thursday night farmers market was starting to wind down. Not crowded. Hostess was warm, and quick to seat us. Got our (non-alcoholic) drinks right away. We were pretty slow to decide on pizza, and the server didn't rush us. Ordered a family-size salad with three indy cups of dressing. Got the salads, but had to go ask for forks. Ground pepper available, but no fresh-grind. The pizza was ok. Way too thick around the edges for my taste. Server kindly asked if we wanted the leftovers boxed up. It was about $47. for three of us. That amount could easily have served four. Someone from the restaurant came over to our table to ask how things were, stopped to listen, and invited us back. If I'm gonna have pizza, I'd rather buy it from the farmer's market vendor, or go to Pizza Rustica in Lafayette.

My husband used to eat at Skipolini's Clayton when he was a kid, but I guess we never got around to trying this location because we already had a local favorite pizza place closer to home. I remember a few years back, looking at the menu to see what they had. We laughed about the "Prego Pizza", and that was that. Yesterday, we finally got around to breaking our normal pizza routine. His sister came over a few days ago when she started having contractions. The house has been full of commotion ever since. The baby girl was coming!!! Everyone was excited. We couldn't wait. The baby girl would be here soon...!! Or.... not. It turned out to be false labor. That's when a lightbulb appeared over my husband's head, as he vaguely recalled a pizza place in our area that served a "labor-inducing pizza". We decided to give it a try. So how was the food? Quite good, actually! We ordered a family size Caesar Salad, Chicken Wings with both Ranch and Blue Cheese dipping sauces, and two delicious, garlic-y, family size pizzas: The Prego Pizza, which has every topping you can put on a pizza: Salami, Pepperoni, Ham, Mushrooms, Olives, Bell Peppers, Extra Onions, Sausage, Ground Beef, Linguisa, Extra Garlic, Parmesan and Oregano The Bettega: White sauce pizza with Roasted Garlic Sauce, Fresh Spinach, Light Mushrooms, Light Ham, Light Bacon, and Diced Tomatoes. Skipolini's is good enough that I'd come back to try their other pizzas. They have a delicious crust and fresh ingredients. Also, plus points for having great customer service, being family-friendly, and in a great location with plenty of parking. I joked with my sister-in-law that they were at four stars, but I'd give them five if their Prego Pizza actually works and she gives birth before the due date. Our server said in order for her to give birth that night, she'd need to eat least five or six slices. Since she had only eaten two, he said she probably wouldn't give birth until Tuesday morning (her due date), but if she ate one more slice later that night, it would be Monday night, and if she ate the two slices we had leftover, it would be Monday morning. Ha ha ha, laughter all around, good times. We went home and that was that. But she ate more pizza late last night. And early this morning, they dashed off for the hospital. She's in labor right now, and soon a baby girl will be born! :) So, five stars it is! Great pizza Skipolini's, we'll be back!

Skipolinies is the worst place for service. We ordered a pizza for pick up @5:20 and they said it would be ready in 20 minutes after 20 minutes we got there and the order wasn't ready. Then we got the order at 6:20 and the pizza was cold.

I have been a loyal customer for over 17 years. Last night was the most disappointing pizza I have ever had from Skip's! I ordered two family sized pepperoni and black olive pies to go. I never check a Skip's pizza. Never needed to. I guess now I will have to treat it like a Round Table or Pizza Hut pizza from now on. The pathetic amount of pepperoni I could blame on the economy, pork prices and all, but to cheap out on the olives? Come on guys! I included a pic. Now to be upfront the pizza is a day old. We buy two so we can enjoy a good old piece of cold pizza for breakfast the next day. Step it up Skip's , for FIFTY bucks I expect much better.

We came here last Saturday for my kid's BD. Main peeve: They will not bring the birthday girl even a crappy dish of ice cream with a candle. They don't "do that". We offered to pay for this..nope. No desserts. So don't have a birthday party here! Chicken wings - soggy. We ordered family size Preggo pizza. The bottom crust was soggy. Everything was underdone and the place wasn't busy at 5:00 p.m.

I have only been to Skipolini's a few times but was in the mood for some quality pizza. Immediately was greeted and the hostess asked us where in the restaurant we would prefer to sit. I am glad we chose to sit where we did because we had the most amazing server!! Judas was the server who waited on our table. As soon as he introduced himself he gave us recommendations on drinks to order. He was so prompt with the food and drinks even though we had a complicated order. Judas came back to check on us several times throughout our dinner, and made sure we were always fully stocked and happy with what we ordered. It is hard to find quality customer service in the food industry now a days, but if you go to the Concord Skipolini's request to sit in Judas section!!!! Made all of us want to come back to this restaurant more often!

After car shopping all day we were starving. Not being from Concord I whipped out my iPhone and yelped restaurants. This place came up & I had heard it was good. So we decided to go there. We parked in the free adjacent parking lot and were excited to see a nice patio with a fountain. My husband went in the front door while me & our dog went towards the gate to the patio when I heard my name being yelled. To our surprise they aren't dog friendly (big mistake, big). So we left and ate down the street. Fast forward 3 days and we are back in Concord to pick up our new car, which took all day. So we didn't have our dog today so we gave it another try. We ate inside and shared a small combo. It was so good, nice crust and very generous amount of toppings. We were looking forward to trying the Bacon wrapped Jalepenos and were disappointed to find out that location doesn't have them. We polished off the pizza & will try the Folsom location Next.

Overall a great experience! It took a little while to get someone to seat us, but once we did we had great service. Our server checked on us just the right amount and was very funny and helpful. (I am a vegetarian and I found a piece of chicken on one of the slices and he offered to get us an entire new vegetarian pizza, which I didn't need, but was still very grateful he offered.) We ordered the garlic bread with the cheese (which I would suggest everyone do), the caprese panini, and the Palermo pizza . Everything was delicious!

Well, first off, they had the Giants' game on! I was so happy to have some pizza while enjoying the game. The TV's are the perfect size for being close to the inside tables. Doesn't make me want to look away! Second, I went with my boyfriend and his grandmother and we all ordered drinks within three minutes of sitting! Our server Kelsey was amazing to is :) I had seen the beer menu first and almost puked because of the night before! Haha she laughed and just made me feel comfy about being hungover!! But anyways, she came back at least every ten to fifteen minutes to check on everything including the salad we ordered, a plate of garlic bread, and our pizza. Definitely knows what she's doing as I used to work in a restaurant myself and happen to know good service from really bad. The pizza was very well prepared and exactly how we had ordered it, which in some places is quite rare. The little garlic breads could stand to be a little less cheese but overall it was pretty good. Everything was YUMMY!!!! Thanks Skips! ....& Kelsey! Thank you for making our dinner worth the time and money!

Skipolini's has great customer service, decent pizza for the West Coast, and makes a great calzone. I walked in on a whim because the scent wafting in the air outside their establishment smelled delicious. I was not disappointed!

My first time at the restaurant and I bring with me 10 Daisy scouts and their Moms on a Tuesday evening! The staff here were SOOO accommodating! I only called the day before to see if we could come as such a big group and they were more than happy to help us. We sat out on the patio which was great on a summer evening! The staff were great with us as a group of 10 girls and then adults making sure we were with drinks and our pizzas! Now to the pizzas! YUM! I will be returning with my family and adding this spot to our regular pizza nights!

The service and food have not been up to the usual- We used to come here a few times a month but the few last times were so bad that I don't think I will be back. They took over an hour to make 2 salads and then made them wrong. I was so mad. Anyway we may be back but I don't know the last few times have been so so.

Each time we've been here, the pizza has been delicious!! They have so many specialty pizza options. We always order half and half so we can taste different flavors throughout the meal. Usually one half is the prego pizza because it's soooo daaang gooood!! The Clayton location is good as well. Some say they have an older brick oven so it tastes better, but I can't taste that so either location works for me. However, the Antioch location was just okay for me. Will always have this spot in mind when we want a sit-down pizza restaurant.

Completely forgot to order the BBQ chicken without the green chilies and Max put my order back in and re made my pizza, not to mention he sent the pizza with the green chilies home with us! Hats of to you Skipolini's in Concord, you are awesome! That is true customer service and we will be back time and time again... that is as long as Max is serving here!

I lived around the corner from here for 5 yrs. They always seem to do a brisk business but seem pricey. My husband and I finally broke down one day and ordered a pizza from there. Very pricey and was not that all impressed. I guess it is great for some people but it is not my cup of tea. I would rather go to Pizza Guys down the street.

This is not the Skipolini's I remember! Sure, I haven't had their pizza in over a decade, but I recall liking it a lot. On a recent visit for takeout, the staff were very nice and we didn't have to wait for service. The staffers are the reason I'm giving two stars rather than one. Lots of happy people were enjoying their dinners. I assumed we would, too. Sadly, the pizzas were terrible. We tried the Greek (which was supposed to have feta, but didn't), plain cheese, and a veggie pizza. I tasted all three. The pizzas had a lot of toppings, maybe too many. This caused the pizza crust to be gummy. In addition to this, the sauce, cheese, and even the toppings lacked flavor. I'm not sure how this was possible, but everything was quite bland. Maybe the food is better when you eat it in-house? I'm definitely not in a hurry to find out.

Came here to try the famous Prego Pizza to try and get labor started at 39w2d. Wow! Lots of meat! It was definitely tasty! Unfortunately it didn't get things started, but maybe next time. Only did take out, so can't really give more at the moment. It was jam packed though, so safe to assume this is definitely a popular spot here in Concord! If you're military, ask for mil discount!

Pizza was cardboard like. Not flavorful and certainly not what I would call pizza. Maybe I caught them on a off day but it was my first and last time eating there. I'm from Brooklyn and living in Cali for a few years I have learned to compromise and accept what people think is pizza out here. Do yourself a favor, save your money go anywhere else. Chicken wings are my favorite food, I also ordered wings w. My order. I am ashamed to say I threw out the order after forcing myself to eat the 2nd wing. I have never in my life thrown away wings. That is how bad it was. Still bleeding and half cooked. Thanks for the shit experience. Best pizza I've had in the bay area is from Amicis. 1 star for the worst pizza I've had in California.

Long overdue review as my son is now 2.5 years old. We came in at lunch time for the prego pizza when I was 37 weeks pregnant and had a good experience. The food was good and the service was decent. I am sure it is concidental, but I went into labor at 7 pm that same night. Will return in several months when I hit the 37 week mark with my second pregnancy.

Their website advertises prices which are 15-20% lower than the actual price when you place an order. When asked about the significant increase in price they say they are aware of the problem and are working on it but will not honor what is posted. False advertising is bad business regardless of how good the product is. I will not patronize them again.

It's very fresh, great quality, good service - but the taste is just okay. We ordered their signature "Bettega" and swapped the ham for chicken, as we're not huge on ham. It was fresh, crust is hand made...but again, flavors were so-so. We've done their famous "prego pizza" when I was a week away from delivering my son as advised by my John Muir OB, but not only didn't it work - it probably gave me indigestion because it's loaded with a ridiculous amount of meat, garlic, and onions. In terms of service, we came on a Sunday afternoon and service was slow. We weren't sure why, considering the place was practically empty.

  • Ms. H.

Pretty solid pizza joint....consistently good plus nice but still casual ambiance. During the summer it's very nice to sit out on the patio near the fountain. I've also had a few larger groups here 10+ people and they've always gone out of their way to pull table together and make things comfortable for us. In regards to the Prego Pizza, I went into labor within 4 hrs of consuming it with my 1st kid 12 years ago. So in my case it did totally work. This was technically 2 weeks before my due date so the person that bought the pizza for me felt a little guilty about it...not expecting it to actually work. However at 7.5 pounds the little munchkin was more then ready to enter the world.

What can I say about this place, other than I'm always disappointed when I run out of pizza? Its really easy to find a decent pizza, and bad pizza is even more common, but finding a truly good slice, that is something special. Consider myself a pizza connoisseur of sorts, and this place ranks very high on my list. Service has always been good, and I like the location in downtown near Todos Santos park. One of the best joints for pizza in the east bay!

  • Johnny H.

First and foremost, their pizzas are great. Always packed with flavor, but this only them 3 stars. Their delivery service and the fact that we had to call them multiple times cause for some reason they didn't have our address after we gave them our phone number and they even read it back to us. We have had many of delivering pizzas from them in the past. Last 2 times in a month was the worst. Over 2hrs each time, yes we were given a free order the first time, the second time, the delivery driver seemed rude, slammed his car door and acted like we have did wrong . Screw this place, never to order from there again. And now everyone I know will be aware of this bull. I am out, buy your pizza somewhere else everyone. Now they only get 1star. I am pizzed just thinking about it!

I've only been here once but I liked it. Good pizza. Their calzones are huge. It was good for a group - I think we had about 12 people on a Saturday afternoon, and my friend had gotten a little section near the back reserved for us. The servers were nice. My friend and I ordered a bottle of white zinfandel and had a good time. :)

So im a big pizza Person, you could take me anywhere and ill just order pizza. Im From Pittsburg so i was in concord that day for the farmers market, while we where walking i had to use the restroom, they let me use there's. Very friendly guy, place was clean and nice. I felt very welcomed. So after walking around the farmers market i decided i wanted to eat here. However when i came in this time i didnt feel as welcomed, we where seated very quickly. While sitting this place seemed very family friendly, How cute they have toys for little ones. However i wasent very pleased that are server took so long. For not only ordering are food but also delivering our food and drinks. It Took so long for our pizza we pretty much had almost downed are pitcher of soda. Food was awesome tho, love the pizza how cheesy it was. I enjoyed my experience and indefinably would come back but if the service keeps going at a turtle pace ill just go to another location.

The BEST pizza I've ever had! The sauce is sooooo amazing! And the cheese is really good! I love it that you have a selection of bellpeppers to choose from! (Orange or red are my personal favorite) your cheese garlic bread... I can eat it every day!!!

The pizza here is on my list of favorites. It's always piled impossibly high with toppings and the crust is wonderful. The outdoor patio is delightful on a summer day. I wish I lived in the Bay Area, in part just so I could have lunch here on the regular.

I heard from a friend about Skipolini's Preggo pizza a couple years ago so when I was pregnant I knew I had to try what they're famous for! When my boyfriend and I (37 weeks & 5 days pregnant) got there the host asked if I was there for the Preggo pizza. DUH lol! He told us about how his sister had the Preggo pizza when she was pregnant and soon had her baby! I couldn't wait to see if it worked for me. And just my luck I was in labor the next day! Came in on August 12, was in labor all day August 13, and delivered my sweet baby boy on August 14!:) Thank you Skipolini! I recommended all my pregnant friends to you :)

Wish I could give this place a 3.5! We were in a couple of weeks back, service was fine, pizza excellent. Went in again because we were so impressed - not busy at all - but it seemed to take forever for the pizza to get to the table- if I had realized it would take so long for a pizza, I'd have passed.

I have come here several times. The pizza is great! The servers are great as well. Though the prices are a bit high, I still like coming here for the great food and service. Tonight we ate here and ordered a small pepperoni pizza and it was taking longer than usual. Our waitress comes over and says that our pizza was accidentally burned on one side. So she gives us a big plate of cheesy garlic bread on the house while we wait for a new pizza. Shortly after, we got our pizza and all is well. Another great experience! Definitely returning!

I love their pizza but I was disappointed when I called to order delivery tonight and they said they were closing early because it was slow. Their food is fabulous but it's frustrating when a restaurant closes earlier than it's posted times. Consistency is important in this business. And I may be bitter because I had a bad day and really wanted their pizza.

This review is mostly about their stellar service. Unfortunately my grandfather passed away last week and we held a rosary service Wednesday night in pleasant hill. After the service was over a cousin suggested we all go to skipolinis for a late dinner. We all showed up around 9:15-9:30pm about the time they were closing up. Not only did they take our orders from our HUGE group (we pretty much took over their back patio) they didn't even give us a hard time for coming in so late. The waiter was so awesome. He came around to each of our tables and made sure we all had enough drinks, plates, napkins, anything we needed. The food came out promptly and was very good. Also I was expecting them to rush us out of there since it was passed their closing time, but they didn't! I felt bad because I'm sure the employees wanted to go home but they never made us feel rushed or made any suggestions that we needed to hurry. After we were leaving I made sure to thank the waiter and apologized for making him work overtime. He was very gracious and told us he was happy to have had some excitement on his Wednesday night LOL. I wish I would have caught his name because he was probably one of the nicest servers I have ever came in contact with. This was my first time eating at this location and I definitely would not have a problem coming back. Thanks skipolinis for making a sad night into a night my family was able to have a good time and eat good food

I have been coming to Skippolinis since I could walk. Well the one in Clayton . But by far their crust is the best. They are my favorite pizza . Good old NYC style pizza with lots of toppings. And a large is huge too not like round table . They use fresh toppings and great sauce. They also have really good salads too. All the locations are a little different but all good . Clayton is my favorite but concord is good too. If you like spicy try the chicken cayenne pizza

My buddies and I had a meeting at Skip's last night and we felt it was a bit too warm to eat outside, so we waited for an inside table to open up. We waited about 20 minutes but it didn't look like anything would happen. That's when Pablo came over and apologized for not being able to get us a table and asked if we wouldn't mind trying an outside one. Before we even had a chance to respond he said: "And I'll buy you guys a round of beers." Oh yeah! Not so hot out there any more! This is what good customer service is all about - being proactive. I've always enjoyed the atmosphere and good food, and Pablo made the experience complete.

Great food we always sit outside the ambiance is nice. I deducted one star only because the patio seating is a little cramped but it's still worth it.

Pizza was pretty good, sauce seemed a little salty for my taste, good crust, good beer. Younger staff, needs a bit refining on attentiveness but not a bad experience overall.

My all time favorite pizza. Went to the Clayton location many times growing up and have enjoyed the Walnut Creek and Concord locations as well. The concord location is very cozy and I love the fireplace and vibe there. Every single pizza is amazing (my personal favorite is pepperoni) and the house salad with ranch is amazing. The service is not usually the best but the pizza is well worth it.

This place is absolutely awesome! My wife and I went there after a long day Christmas shopping in Concord and just needed a pizza fix...,boy did we ever get it! This was the freshest, most genuine pizza I've had in quite some time the vegetables were fresh and you can actually tell that they chop the vegetables themselves rather than pull them out of some can somewhere. The cheese and crust was perfect and my son even got to make his own little pepperoni pizza definitely going to hang out at this place again next tome we are in Concord

Above average at best. The prego pizza is the real deal though. Filling and a meal on one slice. I prefer Zachary's because I like deep dish. In the context of the Bay Area it's solid pizza. I wouldn't call it a destination, but if you need the pizza fix and want to do it classy, go here to play it safe.

I am 39wks pregnant & my mother told me about the "Prego Pizza". My fiance & I really don't believe in stuff like that so we decided to try it out just for fun. We walked in & was seated immediately. Place was clean & nice. They had TVs & the music was loud which I didn't mind at all. It was entertaining. They played a lot of old school jams which my fiance loved. He had a good time singing while we were waiting for our pizza. Finally our pizza came & it was good. I usually get either cheese (which I LOVE) or pepperoni pizza so for me to experience something new was a big thing for me. The prego pizza was topped with so much meat - sausage, ham, salami & pepperoni. I'm pretty sure it had lots more but that's what I can recall. It also had olives, mushrooms, peppers & lots of garlic flavoring. The crust was awesome btw! The reason for the two stars is due to our waitress. Totally forgot her name but she was a pretty latina female with long medium brown hair with blonde hi lights. She always had a straight face, I couldn't tell if she was annoyed or mad (knocked off one star), nor did she ever say "You're welcome" after countless of times I said "thank you." (knocked off another star). She was not a pleasant person at all, she didn't even smile (knocked off another star). I hope she was just having a bad day. I did not like her service at all. At first I thought it was just me, but when I asked my Fiance if she was rude, he did agree with me. We asked for our check & a box to go since we had left overs & she was so quick to say "hold on, I'll get it in a minute" with her finger pointed towards us. Then when she came back I asked for ranch to go & she looked at me totally confused. Took her awhile for my request to be registered. All the other waitresses were nice & conversed with their group. Wish I had another waitress, one that can tell me more about their experiences with customers trying out their prego pizza. Before we left, I saw two pregnant moms come in & were so happy to try their prego pizza. Hopefully they don't get the same waitress I had. My first experience here was less than average. I would eventually come back but not too soon for another try. I'd make sure I didn't get the same girl. & as for the prego pizza, I'd write another review IF I do go into labor (:

  • Sarena L.

We went there for the preggo pizza of course! I was 38w exactly and wanted to get this lil girl out! The pizza was delish and we ordered hot wings as well thinking maybe the spice would help too. I went into labor the next morning around 11am and had her the next day. How cool is that? It works! I'll definitely be coming for more, preggo or not!

I'll give it three and a half stars. I went here with my fellow student government officers. I got a big slice of pizza, salad, some bread, a cookie, and a drink with unlimited refills. The portion was big so all I got to eat was the salad and I'll say most of the pizza. A smaller portion would be better. :)

Just like a lot of people that comes here, I love their white sauced pizzas. Definitely great pizza when it's hot, because the bread is thicker than most other place, and if you let it sit cold then it's just going to be super hard to eat. For appetizer, the garlic bread is very soft and the dipping is perfect for it. My favorite pizza is The Martinelli: garlic sauce, cayenne chicken, and sun dried tomatoes. Simple but great in combination. I don't know if the whole idea of Prego pizza works or not, but it sure is a reason people talk about this place, so I guess it's a great advertisement for them? I wonder what the scientific proof of such pizza is. The location in Concord is very easy to get to, very conveniently located in downtown across the theater. I really like their use of outside patio space, it's very cute when the decoration lights are on, and there's a fountain also for better aesthetics. The indoor is very rugged, more of a communal feel. Wood everything, very large size tables. perfect for groups! The pizza takes a while to cook, so remember that when coming in here on a hungry stomach. You will wait a little while. Can't speed up the cooking process, i guess. Otherwise, a solid 4 star place, perfect especially for large groups, very kid friendly. They have lots of toys and books available for kids to play with. But most choose to play by the fountain and fall down there. Lol.

My love convinced me to try out Skipolini's, claiming that the establishment would be a good place for us to catch the latest NBA playoff game. While the food was nothing to call home about, wings were salty, pizza menu was uninteresting and lacked panache (nothing on the menu caught my eye). The restaurant is, however, a place to watch the latest and greatest in sports. Several televisions were playing three different games/matches. With several beers on tap, infinite pizza possibilities, and ESPN a permanent fixture in the channel line-up I can fully understand the restaurant's appeal. Overall: Unmemorable food, but friendly service, great ambiance, game-day appeal, good location (across from movie theatre) and very nice terrace area for warm summer days.

Food is fine. Just went for lunch and it seemed the employees could care less if we were there. Two behind the counter while we waited to be seated. Won't waste my money getting crappy service here again.

Ordered this pizza and it took twice the time they promised to deliver this pizza. A whole hour and a half. Kids were starving. Pizza was greesy, wings were "meh." I ordered a dozen wings and got 8 wings, after calling them about it they said they don't do dozens only 8. The lady that took my order never said anything when I asked for a dozen. She also had me repeat my address 5 times so I can assume she couldn't hear me which sucks. I won't be ordering from this place again.

I hate to downgrade Skipolini's in Concord because I previously LOVED their gluten free pizza, but the last THREE experiences have left me for wanting more... On November 30, 2011 I e-mailed the owner the following but never received a response. Hopefully this review will make its way back to the right people at Skip's and changes will be implemented... "I'm writing to you about your gluten free pizza. Over a year ago I tried your gluten free pizza for the first time and it was truly awesome. Your blend of GF flours really made the crust tasty. The pizza was cooked perfectly and you became my favorite place to get GF pizza. The last two times I visited Skipolini's in Concord the gluten free pizza that I received was not acceptable. On one occasion I called my order in and picked it up. The pizza was doughy, uncooked and soggy. I took it home to reheat and cook it in my oven. Hoping it was a fluke, I did not complain. The second time I was in the restaurant. When the pizza came out my crust was so undercooked that I had to send it back to the kitchen. The replacement pizza was only a little bit better. I still took half of it home and cooked it in my oven again. I should note, however, that the edge of the crust is always amazing...I just wish the rest of the pizza tasted that way. Perhaps the GF crust needs to be sent through the oven before adding toppings. I really hope that you continue to serve GF pizza. I would hate to see the downfall be a lack of interest due to the preparation of the pizza. You've really provided a great service to those who can't or choose not to eat gluten and I appreciate that. With that said, your GF pizza is the best in the Bay Area and the pricing is AWESOME - I'm just not sure what happened to the yummy crust that I had previously enjoyed. I hope that you're able to take this constructive criticism to the staff at the Concord location and improve on the GF pizza so I can enjoy it again." I'd really like to go back to Skip's. Their pricing is right and the flavor is good, but the soggy crust (even when baked longer) is no bueno. Hope Skip's has room for change... Ps. I love your collection of toys for little hands.

Hit or miss. Sometimes a 3, sometimes a 4+. Eat-in is better, and drinking a bunch of sangria helps! Little too pricey. The fancy pants pizza is good, although it's not "pizza" pizza. Sigh. Still nothing in area that compares to NY pizza.

Skip away from this pizza joint. I've been to the place 4 times in the course of 19 years and each time I've came I've concluded that this is terrible pizza. I always said to myself "maybe it's just a bad batch? Next time should be better" and it hasn't been yet. Frozen boxed pizza is better than this. This time around I've brought 2 families here and judging by the fact that we've had ordered 3 different pizzas(the preggo, the martinelli, and a cheese) and plenty of leftovers-nobody wanted to take the leftovers (equivalent to a whole large pizza). That right there says a lot because WHO doesn't take leftover pizza. 1 star because I liked our server, beer, and salad (that we secretly shared between my wife and I. Secret because they charge $1 to do so at this "family style" joint). So actually run don't skip.

I've been here a few times now, and every time the pizza has been really good! It's a little pricey, but I enjoy the atmosphere and food. The customer service is good too. Last time my friend & I went we sat out on the patio on a warm evening- it's nice for people-watching and some fresh air. If you're not looking for a big meal, two people can easily share a small pizza for a reasonable price and walk away feeling satisfied and not broke :-).

4 stars because of the positive way they handled my issue I ordered a calzone (any pizza can be made a calzone) I did not realize they were made with ricotta cheese (thought it was made like a pizza) the menu does not specify it that I can tell anyway they remade the calzone and checked back to be sure it was right no hassles The have multiple tv's and it is loud like a busy pizza parlor would be expected to be I heard the table next to me complimenting the pizza

We went for the Preggo Pizza on my wife's due date. 6 hours after we left, she was in labor. Coincidence? Possibly. But I would like to think the pizza had SOMETHING to do with it :) we will be back! (Baby girl is almost 3 months old, finally had time to write this!)

The caesar salad was good, not great. The garlic cheesy bread was out of the world. The Bettega pizza has EV.ERY.THING that we love in a pizza and it's reallllllly good. I've had the Preggo Pizza before at the Walnut Creek location and remember it being good, but I'm looking forward to eating it again as my due date gets closer so that I can say "Yeah, the preggo pizza put me into labor after i ate it". Really good location. Next to parking garage and across the street from the movie theatre. I don't think it's such a good thing that we live close by now because I'm gonna want to eat here all the time. side note - i saw that they have a dinner and movie deal. I don' remember the details but it seemed good but it was only valid Sunday thru Thurs (i think?).

Just waited 50 minutes for a pizza for pick up, and it was extremely slow inside. At 25 minutes guy at front told me, "it just came out". Never saw him again. Had to tell person I wanted refund to get my pizza boxed and ready. No manager ever came to spoke to me.

I'm a lover of pizza, period. I love all types of pizza and I do enjoy Skip's every once in a while. I've been here a handful of times but finally am reviewing it. B R I E F S U M M A R Y -- Parking can be rough, park in the garage -- Outdoor seating is awesome for summer -- TV's show current sports (Go Bay Area sports) -- Service is awesome -- Pizza has good thick crust -- Red sauce is very flavorful & robust -- Pesto sauce is subtle but very good -- They pile on the toppings -- Medium can feed 2 - 4 people easy My GF and I came here for a sort of late dinner on Friday night. I think it ended up being around 8pm and there was no wait, but it did take a second to find the hostess. We were sat down in the area that is elevated (near the bathrooms). First impression: there was a lot of hustle and bustle. I love to see a "pep" in the step of the staff and there were a lot of servers running around carefully giving great customer service. With that said, our server was great. She was young, like much of the waitstaff and was very attentive. I asked for a few things and she took care of everything no problem. She even brought me a pitcher of water after noticing how thirsty I was! It was a super hot day in Concord so I was parched. I love when places have great staff, which is one reason why I'll be back. We ended up ordering a medium pizza with 1/2 red sauce and 1/2 pesto. We just couldn't decide. I realized how much I love their red sauce and will no longer be ordering the pesto, which is not a knock on the pesto at all. I love that they load up the toppings on top but wish there was a bit more sauce to help with all the toppings. We ended up ordering chicken, bacon, spinach and garlic. It was quite the combination with their house ranch. I was really impressed overall with the service and food. I used to work nearby and usually just got the lunch special which is totally a great deal and a lot of food. I'll have to come back here again soon when the hankering for some pizza hits.

Two days past my due date, my husband & I trekked out to Concord solely for their "Prego Pizza" to see if the rumor was true. I'm not a vegetable eater but in desperation I ate it anyways. Hubby liked it, I would have liked it a lot minus the vegetables. The garlic bread with cheese was delicious! Service on the other hand was a little subpar, but they didn't have a hostess working (on a Saturday) so our server was playing host as well as serving other tables. We'll come back for other pizzas in the future.

Wow. We went to Skipolini's a few weeks ago to celebrate my birthday with some of my family and got spectacular service from start to finish. We told everyone to meet there at 5:30 pm, and I arrived around 5 to get a table. I called a few minutes before getting there to ask how long the wait would be for a table for 11, and the guy I spoke to said if I got there right away, there would be no wait. I walked in five minutes later, and explained that my party would be arriving at 5:30. No problem, he says, we'll seat you right now anyway. They seated us at a long table in it's own little area that was raised and sort of looked over the whole dining area. Nice. I got a text from one of my cousins saying they had just left the house because their son just woke up from his nap, and my other cousin texted and said there was a ton of tunnel traffic, but they're on the way. I told our server that, and she just said, oh that's fine...would you like some water while you wait? When everyone had arrived, the servers were very friendly and attentive, constantly checking on us. There were five kids under the age of six in our party, and we ordered a cheese pizza just for them. The server asked if we would like it cut into smaller slices. How thoughtful is that?? If you are a parent, you would understand how that small gesture was so appreciated. I had brought cupcakes in for dessert, and they took them in the back for us during our meal, and when they brought them out, they even brought plates out for them! I really wasn't expecting them to do that. The food was delicious as usual, and my relatives stated that Skipolini's was a perfect spot to get together at. My love for Skipolini's has grown ten-fold after this visit!!!

Our party of 5 decided to enjoy the sun, so we ate outside. We came here during lunch time just to have our "girls day".. 2 of us ordered a salad, with a $1 extra, they will split the salad for you.. (SERIOUS!) We ended up splitting it ourselves.. Started off with some wings with ranch and blue cheese. It was over a bed of lettuce.. Amongst 5 girls, we ordered 2medium pizzas 1) all meat & 2) pesto 1) all meat - it was seriously ALL MEAT!! Various types of meat!! (it was a bit TOO MUCH for us, but we were happy) 2) Pesto - delish!! it was pretty yummy! On a hot day, we constantly requested for more water. Mind you we were given a pitcher of water, ice melted real quick so we requested a pitcher of ice. Service was not that great. The restaurant was not busy at all, but I guess the waitress was a little disoriented. We constantly reminded her of our drink orders and sauce requests but she never followed through.. We ended up asking the bus-boy.. tsktsk..

Ordered delivery and I must say for a restaurant chain, I was pleasantly surprised. The bread was piping hot. The "Skip's Dip" was tasty as well. I found myself eating this more than the pizza. We ordered the Prego pizza sans ground beef and ham. I love meat like anyone else but after pepperoni and salami, beef and more pig is just redundant. I love that their veggies still had a bit of a crunch to them. Love the freshness and the extra oomph of flavor in the sauce. Melo's is still first in my heart but this is a very close second. Even closer since I don't have to leave my house to have great food. Instead of me going back here, they'll be coming back to me!

So I was talking with my girlfriend one night about my childhood when my family and I would go to a pizzeria and have just the most amazing pizza ever. I missed the feeling of that kind of place. When I told her about that she took me to Skips and it's exactly what I wanted. As soon as you walk into the place you can just smell the amazingness. We were seated and we started with a salad which was nice, and then the pizza came and just blew me away. The crust was perfect, the toppings were amazing; everything was perfect and definitely fulfilled my wish for a great pizzeria.

Baby H, who currently resides inside the lovely Rachel H, was the perfect excuse to plan a visit to Skipolini's for the Prego Pizza. There were five of us. We ordered garlic bread with cheese, family sized Italian salad and the family sized Prego pizza (10 slices). That totaled about $12 each with drinks and tip. The garlic bread and salad were both tasty and a nice warm up for the main event. The Prego Pizza is topped with delicious salami, pepperoni, ham, sausage, ground beef, linguisa, mushrooms, olives, bell peppers, extra onions, and extra garlic. Yes, their pizza crust somehow managed to support all those toppings. It was quite amazing, really. I highly recommend trying this pizza but I also highly recommend eating it with anyone that you will be spending the rest of your evening with. Extra onions and garlic breath isn't as bad if it is a shared experience. On a side note - while Jac C and I were waiting for the rest of our party to arrive, a pregnant woman who was also there for the Prego Pizza didn't even get to eat any because her water broke. I hope they saved her a slice because that pizza is super good. *UPDATE* Baby H was born yesterday. (Hooray!) I think that may have been too long after the Prego Pizza (4 days) to credit the pizza for his arrival but it was still delicious and totally worth it. I can't wait to meet Baby H and introduce him to pizza and so many other amazing things that our world has to offer.

Large Martinelli pizza , chicken wings and a cup of tortellini soup = 42.00 quite pricey .The pizza topping was scrumptious until I tasted the pizza dough on its own, it tasted old almost moldy. The dough has to be fresh for it to be good pizza !

This pizza is not authentic Italian style pizza, nor is it American Pizza like Roundtable, Pizza Hut, etc. It is a pizza pie all it's own! The sauce is tasty, the toppings super fresh, and the crust is flavorful. You can order thick or thin crust, however, the thin crust is not the way like true Italians like (very thin). We ordered half pepperoni and half Prego (their famous labor-inducing masterpiece of Salami, Pepperoni, Ham, Mushrooms, Olives, Bell Peppers, Extra Onions, Sausage, Ground Beef, Linguisa, Extra Garlic, Parmesan and Oregano. The Ceaser salad was fantastic, as the dressing was superb. If you order a personal salad, beware as it is enough for two people (very large). This is a very solid pie, and I recommend it.

Came here for lunch several times and the pizza is always good. I usually order the preggo pizza with pineapple and the sangria. Staff are friendly and service is good. There is a parking lot close by and there's usually street parking. Would come here whenever I feel like eating pizza and when I am in the area.

I love this pizza but charging 15% gratuity on delivery now is outrageous! . First I am told the minimum order for delivery is $50 then I am told on top of the delivery fee of $3 there will also be 15% gratuity added. It turned out to be $7.11 for the gratuity - I would never tip that much now for any pizza delivery! $4 is usually my norm which I think is fair but to force me to pay $7.11 is crazy! I only ordered from you because it was a special occasion next time - Roundtable it is!

3 of us went here for lunch. It was empty aside from another couple in there. Clean, quiet and very attentive waitress. We had the Martinelli Pizza and some wings. The wings came out first and were super dry and lacked the "hot wing kick". The pizza on the other hand was delish! Lots of cheese and toppings. I was full after 1 1/2 pieces. I have to say I like the Clayton location better just for the ambiance, but this place is ok in my book!

I really enjoy coming here sitting outside to enjoy a beer and pizza before going to the movies across the street. I only gave three stars because the waiters are like magicians. They just disappear and never come back. That is after you sit for 20-30 minutes waiting for someone to at least take your order,. And this is not just a one time complaint but the last few times I have been here.

Gluten free pizza, bitches. I usually feel pretty awkward when my friends go out and I have to beg them to go somewhere with gluten free menu because I get fu**ing sick of salads. We usually end up going to a sushi place, which is totally fine with me. But sometimes, I want some pizza, god damn it. Skipolini's gf pizza is fantastic. It's crispy, and holds really well. It looks small, but I usually have one to myself, so it lasts me a couple days. The toppings are fantastic. They're fresh and tasty. I have had friends who used to work here, and they have all said that their restaurant standards are high. Fresh ingredients, clean environment. It's great for everyone, but an especially fantastic treat for ye celiacs!

I love Skipolini's Pizza, but the service my family got tonight at this location was really wretched. I get that the place was understaffed, but the level of service tonight was unacceptable. Waitress brings 6 plates for 7 people, and even after I requested a 7th plate, she forgot. We had to flag down another staff member drink refills after waiting patiently for 15 minutes. Then I came home, happened to log into our bank account, and find out that there were 3 pending charges from Skips processing. WTH? Skips is going to have a VERY unhappy customer calling tomorrow morning.

Skipolini's is so worth the 50 minute drive. The pizza, the bread, and don't forget the Sangria :D!! Kid friendly, good venue, and great food; it's a win-win. We need a location in the S. Bay.

My first Yelp review, and I think I'll pick a restaurant that my family still raves about. This is a small chain in the Central CoCoCo area, the original is in Clayton. I haven't eaten at that one yet. But the downtown Concord restaurant is no second-rater. I'm a meat lover and my wife has Crohn's disease, so we both look for meat pizzas. It's been a while since we ate here, so I don't remember exactly what we had. What I do remember is a thick, meaty, tasty pie that we all loved. I had fewer slices than I usually have because they were so thick. Prices were normal for a pizza. As a relatively new dad, I'm also becoming more attentive to how our preschool daughter gets along in these restaurants. Usually, no problem. But here, the waitresses made her feel very welcome (I write "waitresses" because the girl we had invited all the others up to play with her). So if you're in downtown Concord with an hour to kill, park in the garage next door and walk on over for a gastronomic delight.

When my parents came in to town to visit my brother and I we ordered out for Skipolini's. We got a large half sausage (for my brother and I), and half vegitarian (for my parents). The veggi was good, but the sausage had hard white chunks in it which we later found out to be bone. BONE... in the sausage. So... why the 2 star and not 1? I guess because my parents loved the veggi.

I went here for lunch with my coworker, and we were both impressed with the daily lunch special, lots of food for a reasonable price (probably more food than I should have actually eaten!). The outdoor seating was nice and the waitress/hostess was very attentive to all of the tables outside, I was impressed because she definitely had her hands full!

I worked at Skips for seven years and will eat here as long as I can. I've seen some nasty habits at other restaurant kitchens where I've worked, but not here. And, yes, the Prego can push out a baby. I witnessed a woman's water break at my table after she ate a few slices. Sawdust win. In Concord, ask for Tony. He'll spin your (pizza) skin up into the rafters. Your official Skips rundown: Skips Antioch: The fun one. Skips Clayton: The classic one. Skips Concord: The swank one. Skips Rocklin: The BIG one. Skips Walnut Creek: The hip one.

First impressions make or break it! I love the lunch special - GORMUNGIOUS slice of pizza, salad, garlic bread, drink, and a cookie! My coworker turned me onto this place this week, after the farmers market. I would have given all stars, but there were other patrons with small children and the children were enamored with the fountain, and literally were right behind my chair and a grandpa was yelling at them to stay out of the water. The parents should have removed the children from the fountain since they were obviously not listening. The waitress should also have asked them to mind the children so the other patrons could enjoy their dining experience too. I hope the next time I go will be a better experience.

My son and I went to Skipolini's Pizza for lunch Sunday. The pizza was very oily. After 45 minutes we both got very sick. I called Monday to let them know. Tony the general mamager called me back saying he was sorry. I told him I have been going to Skipolini's since 1974 all he said was sorry. I spent $25 dollars on lunch that I could not keep down. What an awful way to treat a customer of 39 years!!!!!!

Went to Movie and decided to grab a quick bite. The place was relatively slow for a Saturday, but it was nice to get a table without having to wait. We ordered a small Green salad and 2 small pizzas. A small Cheese and a Bettega White sauce pizza. The salad was moderately sized and had Beets, Chick peas, and Croutons. The pizzas were small and were perfectly sized for 4 of us. The Bettega had Bacon, Tomatoes, Spinach, Mushrooms, light Ham, and a White sauce. Very flavorful and Cheesy with a hint of Garlic. The favorite part for me is that the Crust is light and Airy and that it is not too filling. I will be back for more of the Bettega and the Friendly service!!

When we arrived it was a very hot day out. There was a sign on the door saying no bathrooms. We were placed in a very empty room. We sat there. About five minutes later we were asked what to drink. As our table was saying our orders, our waitress just left the table. She came back three minutes later and didn't even apologized for leaving. In the end the service was horrible! But the food was good. Lastly the waitress was hitting on my boyfriend, not appreciated.

This place has some good pizza, if you want to over pay. Service is terrible, they always mess up, and if you spill a drink, they will always bring you another, but charge you. I don't know about you guys, but most places if a drink spill in their restraurant, its normally free. They always forget our order, which comes late, and there is always something missing. They have never provided any type of discount for that. I have to say, there are many other better places to eat round them. But the atmosphere and location is very nice. Too bad they can't match that outcome with service. I've been there plenty of times, trying to give them an opportunity to prove me wrong, but i always get the same service. I waited for a beer like almost 15 minutes, in super hot weather this past weekend ? Did they climb a mountain to get me ice ? An OK place, with the potential of being great, if they had a good attitude, and treated costumers like they want them there. In regards to price, very high, would be ok if the sevice matched.

My first time to eat there was pretty great. We ordered our standard pizza (sausage/pepperoni/mushroom) and it was delicious! You could tell they use good ingredients. The staff was so friendly that they made us feel really comfortable even while there was a large party going on next to us. They made sure we had everything we needed and never forgot about us. Definitely recommend and will go again =)

I was 9 months pregnant and ready to pop out my bun in the oven when I first ate here back in December 2010. My husband came home from work telling me about how his co-worker had told him to have us eat there for dinner to order the Preggo Pizza. I was all for it yet really nervous to try the specialty pizza to induce my labor. We went there that same night and ordered the Preggo Pizza and I believe it only comes in one size - medium?. I have to tell you, the first bite was really making me nervous but of course I went ahead and ate it. This pizza is 4 pounds of 13 different toppings with extra garlic and 6 different types of meats. I usually don't like ALOT of meat on my pizza thinking it will be too salty BUT this pizza was not salty at all. It was delicious! The slices are pretty hefty sizes especially with all the different toppings so I was only able to eat 2 slices. The place was busy but our wait was not long. The look of it was like an old bank way back when. It was interesting. The service and the staff were all nice and accommodating. Parking is on the streets but around the corner is a free parking garage. We've gone back several times and we will definitely be going back again!

The best thing this place has going for it is its ambiance (kind of classy looking inside with outside seating with a great view near a fountain and the movie theater) and attentive staff. The pizza itself isn't bad, if not a little too greasy and flimsy, however the amount they charge for the pizza is too much. I have no problem paying $20 for a medium pizza if the pizza is worth it, but my $20 medium pepperoni pizza tasted like it should have been a $12 pizza.

This was my first Skipolini's experience, but I won't knock it due to me having to order take out and drive 45 min back home to Fremont. Also having to stop to grab some brews (a must with pizza!). We had a combination and it was good. Sauce and toppings were fresh and tasty. The crust was a little big for me, but still good. I want to try some of their unique pizzas and definitely have to try it piping hot out of the oven!

**gluten-free pizza available** **gluten-free friendly** Way friggin expensive (and, only available in a 10 inch size), and the people behind the counter...well, my cat is smarter than they were, but if you've got a craving for GF pizza, this will do just fine.

We went there last night around 9:30, sat down and ordered a large pizza and a beer. Another group of three came in after us while we were a table of two. The threesome got their salad, drinks and pizza before us and finally after over 30 minutes we got our large pizza. The pizza looked like they used portions from a small pizza and I would estimate that they poured a half cup of sauce on this pie. They also overcooked the pizza, not burning it, but cooking it to resemble a large piece of toast with minimal flavor due to the scrimping of the toppings and sauce. This is a shame as I brought my fiancé into Skips, bragging how great it used to be. I recall from High School days when we got to go to Skips in Clayton when we got straight A's - it was the best back then in Contra Costa County. Based on last night, however, I would rate Round Table well over the Concord Skips. As an exec in the food and bev industry, I am often asked where to go for food in this county and will certainly not steer anyone to this location. Hoping that the other two are better but we won't be gambling another $40 on that chance.

The Good: Awesome '80's music playing Less than $40 for 3 of us to eat Create your own toppings always a + The Mediocre: Even though we were seated quickly, the service was a little slow We were sat between several large, loud parties All in all, I'll definitely be back, especially to try the lunch special.

Compared to the Skipolini's Pizza in Clayton, this comes in second. Here you just can't get that perfect crust. Many locals also mention about the Clayton one being better. And for some reason at both places can't seem to cut even pieces.

I will never go back, and Skipolini's can thank their day waitress for that. I was there with a party of nine on a Tuesday during lunch time. There was only one waitress working, but the place was not that busy, so it seemed it would be alright. So wrong. Throughout our dining there things just got worse and worse. We sat outside and the sun was shining in some folks eyes, so someone in our party moved an unbrella closer. The waitress (now to be refrerred to as El Diablo) came out and told us we couldn't have it there because it was touching an outside heater, and therefore a fire hazard, and that we had to move it. She was not polite about it or anything, no "Hi, I'm your waitress" - nothing. Later she moved it away from us but closer to the heater...we didn't bother to ask how that was better. We wanted the lunch special, but she told us we couldn't have it (not "I'm sorry we are out" but "you can't have that") because we were too large of a group and she didn't make enough of them, and the few she had left she wanted to save for other people. OOO-KAAAAY. What felt like a century later, El Diablo brought a pizza which belonged to two of the people in the group. About 5-10 minutes later she brought some pananis we had ordered...or at least we thought. Turned out no one had ordered them, and she didn't believe us until she checked her book. FINALLY correct orders came, but she was still missing one. She left and came back 5 minutes later to tell the woman that they ran out of steak and were cooking more. Um...they couldn't do that earlier, like when she put in the order? By the time that person got their food, others in the group were leaving becaue it had already been an hour since we had sat down and they have to you know...get back to work. Overall the experience was just terrible, and the waitress' attitude didn't help, nor was the food good enough to make up for it.

Brunch with my cousins!!! Great little restaurant across from Brendan Theaters in Concord. Outdoor patio with seating. Great choice of pizzas but the service was not up to par.

This had to be the worst and not to mention most expensive gluten free pizza I ever had. The crust was burnt, so that didn't help it. They accidentally made mine with chicken, which I wish I sent back but the pushover I am, said ok I would eat it. The whole thing was off though. From the sauce, to the funky tasting crust. Even the vegan cheese was not like I've had before. My daughter had a regular cheese pizza, which I tried too, and that was just as bad. No flavor. We have had so much better. For the price, we will never be coming back.

An interesting pizza place. Props for loading their pizzas with toppings, its always more delicious with more goodies and more cheese. I'm not a big fan of lots of pizza bread, especially doughy, uncooked crust. in that sense i was a bit put off. but if that is your taste, they definitely put a spin on pizza and it has a nice ambiance.

Very nice wait staff, cold beer and slightly greasy but very flavorful and spiceaful (a new word I just made up) pizza. A medium is more then my Son and I could eat, which say a lot, if you know what I mean. A nice places to eat and very convenient if going to the movies across the street.

I'm not used to pizza restaurants other than your standard Mountain Mike's or Pizza Hut, but I was not down to have soup which was my boyfriend's original intentions for dinner yesterday evening. I have been to Skipolini's twice, including last night and my first experience was 'eh' because (1) we sat outside in the cold (2) the food was just okay at the time. The service is okay, but the servers need to have one or two hostess; I was a little peeved that two different girls came up to the podium asking if we were helped, while the "real" hostess went to look for our sit. I know it was only twice, but I did not want to bother to answer a second time that we were being helped. Luckily, we sat right behind the hostess podium in this awkward sitting arrangement of a restaurant. Our server, Adrianna, was bright, perky, and very sweet; so a big plus 1 star for her exceptional service. The disappointment factor of Skipolini's is the long drawn out wait for the pizza, my boyfriend and I ordered a SMALL pepperoni and mushroom which is six slices on a regular dinner plate. Why did we have to wait over five minutes for such a small order? The food was very good though, no doubt there, there was the right amount of mushrooms and pepperoni on the slices; grease factor was at a very low minimal; and basically the pizza was cooked to near perfection. Good for those days when you want a pizza that isn't delivered by someone that cannot find your apartment.

I had the veggie panini and my friend had the all meat pizza. The food was awesome, service was good and they were speedy. We were there in the afternoon on a Monday and it wasn't very busy. Anyway, I hope to make it back there soon. So good! (We ate here after getting tattoos @ Blue Star Tattoo.)

Ordered the Prego Pizza with extra sauce TO GO. Amazing flavor, fresh ingredients, and quite possibly the best pizza that I've ever tried. I cannot comment on the service as we called ahead and took it home. But based on quality of food alone, this place is THE BEST.

Sangria.... Yum so good. Skip's Dip... don't miss this treat. Get a salad to break it up. Prego Pizza is a specialty and a classic. Think kitchen sink, heavy on the meats. Everything else is just as good. Satisfying for a pizza snob with a lot of options in the area.

Only reason i came to Skipolini's was because i saw they have gluten free pizza. Best gluten free pizza I have had! I have had dine in and carry out. Dine in was a little slow - but that's kinda the norm for a pizza place!
