Delicious! I had seen this place in passing and figured it was low quality strip mall food because of the location but finally gave it a go since I have literally been to every other breakfast place in town. Quality of food is typical of diner food (but well above dennys/village inn despite comments below) The coffee cake was uniquely cooked and delicious and the toast was real rye bread and not the fake swirly color stuff other places have. The pancakes were stuffed with blueberries, the sausage was delicious, the scrambles had fresh meat. The service was fast and friendly, I could see it being slower if it was busier, but that is a fixable problem. Will definitley return!

I went to this restaurant to meet friends. The server was friendly, the wait time was good. But the food was so disappointing. The Eggs Benedict was bland and kind of had me in the mindset that the food wasn't cooked correctly. The supposed "renown" hash browns were sloppy and who in their right mind really needs a pile of hash browns that big? The three of us left enough of it that we really all could have split one "serving" and not felt so guilty about having been wasteful. My friend chose this place because he was from out of town and the reviews were good. Such a sad culinary experience for us all.

Disgusting shrimp and avocado benedict! The shrimp used do not even qualify as real shrimp. So disappointed since I drove far to eat here. Hollandaise does not have any flavor, although the egg was poached beautifully. The restaurant didn't do anything to alleviate our discontent. Did not offer to bring something else out instead or anything. SAVE YOURSELF SOME TIME AND DO NOT EAT HERE! They also burnt the bacon on another dish so badly and only gave 2 pieces instead of 3. this was an expensive HORRIBLE meal that ruined my day.

Wow, first time here! We had a terrible experience at Ihop down the street and decided to leave to go eat sushi, but we saw this little hole in the wall and decided to give it a try. I did not regret our decision at all! The service was great! As soon as we sat down they offered us drinks. Their menu selection all looked so good that it was hard to decide what to have. When we ordered, food did not take long and oh my goodness, the portions are huge and every plate looked delicious. I asked for a fruit bowl for my little girls and OMG, it was presented so cute and all the fruit looked so fresh. Oh and we weren't left with a bill just after getting our food, they actually let us eat and enjoy our food before bringing the bill, this is what every place should do! We all left very happy and we will definitely be coming back to this amazing place!

Got food to go. Got to work and placed my toast on a plate and it had MOLD! Not sure if they toast the bread on the same thing they cook all their other food on. Went back, got an apology and a refund. Never coming back again.

Great service and good food! The omelets and different variety of eggs benedict are my favorites. I definitely recommend the corned beef hash benedict! Staff is friendly, attentive, and welcoming.

Had breakfast before picking up my car that was at Best Guys, getting a tint. This place was nice. The food was fairly priced. The service was good and it was quiet. I was able to watch the news while waiting for my car to done.

It's an average restaurant, but the service is good the breakfast is just average but it will fill you up if you're hungry. coffee could be way better

A good friend and I have this thing of trying out new breakfast spots every other month or so. The reviews on yelp gave this place a 4 rating so we decided to give it a go. Despite it's location in an older (yet thriving) shopping center in Concord, the food and service were both quite good! I ordered the crab and avocado Benedict. This dish was quite tasty! I was a little skeptical at first but was reassured by our waitress that it was real Dungeness crab. The crab meat was plenty enough and the hollandaise sauce just the right amount. My friend had the Irish Benedict with corned beef hash. Not really a corned beef fan but her dish was really good. They have fresh squeezed orange juice that is delicious! I appreciated the fact that it had lots of pulp and was chilled. Not a fan of room temperature juice. The restaurant is a bit dated. Noticed quite a bit of dust on the light fixture above our booth. Nothing terribly dirty but definitely some opportunities. I forgot her name but our server was very friendly, fast and efficient. Prices are reasonable and portions generous. Lots of regulars that frequent this restaurant as we witnessed. Overall, a good experience and I would definitely get breakfast here again!

A cozy breakfast place with great breakfast foods. That being said, the wait and the service can be pretty bad. We were seated pretty quickly, but our waitress did not take our order until we waited for 15 to 20 minutes, and we did not get our food for another 30 to 45 minutes after that. People who arrived after us were seated and got their food before us. Other than our bad waitress, the food was pretty good. The portions and prices are good. The fresh squeezed orange juice is sweet and refreshing. It is definitely a must when you are thinking of what you want to drink with your breakfast. Coffee is constantly being refilled, but I wish they would do the same for water. My usual breakfast is the chorizo scramble with hashbrowns and sour dough toast. The eggs are always good here and I like how they cook their hashbrowns: greasy but not too greasy. I also like the way they cook their bacon: crispy. Sometimes the toast is only lightly toasted, but I prefer a crunchier toast. Overall, the service can be a hit or a miss. The food tends to be consistent and the orange juice is yummy! I want to return, but I might not with the unpredictable waitresses.

The service is good. I ordered blueberry pancakes the blue berries were very cold didn't mix well with the pancake. Very bad.

A great breakfast joint wish it was just closer. The breakfast portions are huge, guaranteed you will not leave hungry & the service was pretty good. Their chicken fried steak is second to none, as southern tasting as they get. Just try to get there early on the weekend or you'll be waiting quite a while. This review is just for the BF food, the menu has a big variety for lunch and dinner as well. Could've been 4-1/2 if their coffee wasn't so so.

Good food. Service varies. A party of three, we waited several minutes for an empty table to be cleaned. Should have been our cue to move on but we stayed. We waited 10 mins for coffee and 20 mins to order. We waited over 45 mins at the table to get our food. Once we got our food we never saw our waitress at our table again. There were only 2 waitresses for a full restaurant. Ours was in over her head. The other seemed to be doing a good job. I saw her at the table next to us 3-4x more often than I saw our waitress at our table. We never got our bill at the table so we asked Min for the bill at the register and had a chat with her about the poor service. She apologized and offered an excuse ("We're really busy") but made no accommodation on the bill for the poor service. A really busy restaurant could employ a better waitress than ours and some additional part time help for peak hours. Food was good. We ordered a Clayton's Special, Mini Breakfast, and the special Salmon and Avocado Benedict. Basic American diner breakfast menu with some creativity and local flair thrown in. Everything was tasty and hot. Coffee was good, too.

The service you get is okay. It seems like this is more of a cult type place. People kept telling us how good the food is and the portion sizes were supposed to be BIG. So we have given it a try two times hoping that the first time was an anomaly. (It was not) We got decent friendly service with cold food, small portion sizes and a bill that charged $2.00 for a 12 oz can of soda. Our fault for not asking if each can was so expensive which is why we paid the price of the soda. Our youngest had two sodas which was almost as cold as the French toast he was served. Only one of four meals was even lukewarm. We were in a hurry so we just ate rather than sending the food back. We've been there twice as I said. A third time is not going to happen. I would recommend looking for a different breakfast location.

This place is concord's best kept secret. The staff is amazing and fast, the food is fantastic. The crab Benedict has me coming back for more! Keep up the great job

Great breakfast place. They have cappuccino! It's nice and not a dive like many other breakfast cafes. I had the eggs Benedict with crab and my husband had a breakfast burrito with chorizo. We were both happy with our meal & service and will definitely be back.

Min's is a very popular neighborhood joint, and we were lured in by so many positive reviews! Very busy on a Saturday morning but we still got a table no problem. The restaurant's interior is much bigger than its meager strip mall surroundings suggest, and the whole restaurant was full of energy, not to mention lots of obvious regulars. The bright yellow walls and fun artwork will give you plenty to talk about and admire while you wait for your chow! BF and I started our Saturday right with Benedicts, his with a sausage patty and mine with crab, shrimp and avocado. Both came with hash browns on the side and while they were tasty, they were definitely unusual - more of a fried potato pancake than standard potato shreds. But they're cooked the way hash brown lovers dream - crispy on the outside, and creamy inside. Yum! My benedict was a very healthy portion, piled high with the seafood and avocado. Everything tasted fresh, and the avocado was actually probably the most delicious part - who knew! Poached eggs cooked fairly well, one was runnier than the other, and very tasty. Round it out with two sodas, and we had a very hearty breakfast for $26! We paid at the counter and a woman I assume was the owner told us about their newly remodeled bathrooms which were clean, spacious and pretty! She seemed genuinely surprised that this was our first visit, and it all just adds to Min's charm - all are welcome, and well taken care of. I look forward to returning for more tasty items, and hopefully to sample lunch and dinner too!

This place is tucked back into a little shopping center. The shopping center is a little sketch but don't let that deter you. We've only come for breakfast and each time it's been delish. Pancakes are fluffy and generously sized. Bacon is thick and cooked perfectly. Eggs are fresh and also cooked well. Hashbrowns are my favorite. They don't look like little potato shreds and aren't ever greasy. There can be quite a long wait if you don't get there early enough. That should speak for itself. I wish they had a kid's menu. It's a little pricey to order off the regular menu for the amount our kids eat. If they just could add a smaller portion breakfast with a lesser price tag, we would come here much more often.

Pretty good find for typical American comfort food. I was actually expecting this place to be a Chinese place based on the name. It's a tiny cozy little diner in the heart of Concord. I thought I stepped back into the 80s since the waitress had these awesome 80s wave bangs. Love having breakfast for lunch. The ham and egg sandwich was what you'd expect and was decent. Prices are fair.

Pretty standard breakfast fare. I'll take this over Denny's or IHOP anyday. The pancakes were a little burnt on the bottom, but the blueberries seemed fresh, not frozen. The hashbrowns were delicious. The fresh-squeezed OJ was really good. BUT IS IT TODDLER FRIENDLY: Yup! My toddler was not the noisiest thing about this place, which was great. And when he threw a handful of eggs on the floor no one gave us dirty looks.

Love this place. Very old school of what is left of Americana of the Bay Area of food, portion and hospitality. Bring your American Flag and you better know your Military Gripe to be amongst these regulars.

I've been meaning to check this place out with friends who have been here, but just now got to make my way here. Pros: - Friendly staff, anyone that was available was ready to help you - Good food portions - Seat yourself - Layout makes it easy for you to get a server's attention - Two TVs, one located towards the barstools, the other on the back wall Cons: - The wait - They accept most major credit cards.. except AMEX Don't let the name fool you, this place actually serves American breakfasts/lunches. Came on a Sunday at noon. Place was busy, but parking was no problem and finding a both wasn't either. We were immediately approached by a server, ordered our drinks and got them. Less than 10 minutes later, another server came and got our orders. (Some time after, my bf noticed someone bringing in potatoes.. guess they ran out? But with how busy they were, I'm not surprised!) That may have led to the 35 minute wait for our food.. and we were starving, but we stayed neutral (unlike the family of 4 next to us who asked to speak with the manager, who gladly came over and resolved things with them). I ordered the Irish Benedict, and the bf got the Country Fried Steak. I scarfed down a good 50% of my meal, he ate about 75%, and we were stuffed. In and out in an hour. I'm sure I'll be back to try their 1/2 sandwich 1/2 soup deal and their shrimp melt!

We had breakfast - omelets, and they were pretty spectacular. We chose Min's due to the positive reviews we saw on the hash browns. They were fantastic, but I think the omelets were more impressive. They were huge, filled with very fresh ingredients - in total, we sampled: swiss, cheddar, avocado, green chile, red onion, mushroom, tomato, spinach, and SPROUTS! Yes, it marks the first time I've ever had or been offered sprouts in an omelet, and they tasted great in it. Plus, they offer white corn tortillas instead of toast. And the coffee was pretty tasty, and constantly filled-up by our server, who was very friendly.

I live close by this place but never even heard of it until some friends invited me out for breakfast. The Place is small and busy. There were only two waitresses and a couple expediters. It took a while to get our orders in, drinks, and refills on coffee. I had the California benedict and it was amazing! Everything on my plate had such great flavor, portions and balance. I wish Yelp had a star rating break down for different topics. Im giving an overall 3 star because service was not good but the food was delicious!

Service good.....but it stops there. Dennys quality food but not as good. What 5 year old who lives on bacon and sausage complains about bacon and sausage? CFS from SAMs club maybe. Pretty gross.

We had the sausage and egg breakfast, and Eggs Benedict. Both were plentiful and tasted like basic breakfast food. It took 40 minutes for breakfast to arrive, three cups of coffee later we started eating. I did not care for the Hollandaise sauce or the Canadian Bacon in my dish, the sauce should be rich, not thin & so brightly colored. It was a warm & cozy place to start our Sunday, lots of booths. The place is not fancy but well-loved, as it was packed with locals, a very good sign. We will definitely try some of the other items on the menu on a future visit.

I have to be careful with what I say because I have been eating here since they opened and I love both the food and servers. BUT, this morning I ordered a simple bacon and egg breakfast to go. When I got there I was charged $12 and change. She told me country potatoes cost several dollars extra instead of hash browns but was never told that on the phone. I paid, picked up the container and it had no weight to it. Zero. I got home and there was a little pile of scrambled eggs, a few pieces of bacon and a small scoop of potatoes. The " toast " was limp raw bread with no jam or jelly packets. I ate the breakfast ( it tasted great ) and threw the nasty bread in the garbage. Like I said, good food, good service but $12+ for a snack, I will go back but I don't see ever ordering over the phone again. For the record I have ordered that same breakfast many times and never charged extra for home fries.

Average diner food at average diner prices. Plenty of seating and decent service. If you just need a waffle and an egg benedict, you could do a lot worse than Min's.

Best breakfast place in bay area. Very friendly and casual place. Friendly staff and attentive service. Don't worry and choose what ever you want from the menu. you will be pleasantly surprised at the end. My favorite is the Bacon, avocado and Swiss cheese omelet.

Another breakfast repeater. We wanted to try a new place for breakfast and this one has been on my list for a while. Reading the reviews I was not at all surprised the place was packed. It might look small from the outside, but inside it's huge. You seat yourself so we go and find a booth. It was a little uneven with more space on her side then mine, but we fixed it. We started with drinks and I'm not a huge fan of having soda coming from a can in a restaurant but I'm not about to complain about it. Just personal preference. After staring at the food other people are getting, I'm beginning to get excited. Giant portions of some great looking food. I saw an omelette so big, it was starting to hang over the plate. Hell yes. I ordered the sausage Benedict. It comes out and it looks good. Time to do the poached egg test. I slice into it, and no runny yolk. Damn. The hollandaise is good, the sausage is good, and the even with the non runny yolk the entire thing was just good. The hash browns are another story. They don't look like ordinary hash browns, and at first they tasted fine. Just pour a little Tabasco on it and I'm all good. Then I started getting little bits of burnt and really hard potato. Not good. I couldn't finish them after that, but the eggs Benedict was sufficient itself. The service was great. Wen't to go pay and the girl ringing us up asked how we liked the bathrooms. It was an odd question but at the same time it's great that they're trying to please in every aspect of the restaurant. The yellow painted walls I have never seen in a restaurant and reminds you of Grandmas house, but it totally works here. Even with the small imperfections, this place has amazing breakfast, and I recommend it to everyone.

My new favorite breakfast spot! For the last 4 weeks I've been here every Sunday for breakfast! The place is always packed and service is always good! I'm hooked on the Chicken fried steak! Great little place that's hidden in the shopping center but somehow everyone knew about it before me!

This place has a lot going for it. The ingredients are fresh and top-notch. They are not, however, always cooked correctly. And that is annoying. For instance, if you order any breakfast item containing spinach, chances are about 50/50 the spinch will be delivered raw. It's been a long time since I was a shortorder cook. But even I know, like it or not, you have to pop the spinach in a pan and wilt it. Otherwise, it's a wad of raw spinach inside an omelet. Similarly, they're not good with burgers. Burgers are hard to cook, no doubt, but if you're a diner serving lunch, you'd better figure them out. I've rolled the dice twice. Twice they came up tough and overcooked. As for the service, it's odd. It's seat yourself and the waitresses seem to divide the tables as they come in. They're all competent and they're all nice, but waiting through the inevitable huddle while they figure out who gets the tab is annoying, especially with a couple of squirming kids. The owner is usually present and moves around a lot. I've never seen her pick up a plate or cook a meal. I have no idea what she's doing. Maybe she could seat people and bring some order to the chaos? Maybe she could taster her own food occasionally? Or maybe, just maybe, in the absence of competitioon, she's content to coast. I'm betting on that. That said, overall the food is plentiful and generally ok once you pick out the raw bits. You'll find nothing here that will outrage or depress you. there aren't many reasonable alternatives in the area, and if you want a reasonably priced breakfast, you could do worse.

We came here a year or two ago and were weirded out by the carpets and odd paintings (children riding dinosaurs?!) but once we had our breakfast order in front of us, we were hooked. We had a few less than stellar experiences with a current waitress and a former waitress but have always given Min's extra opportunities... Mainly because of the staff's overall kindness and the fantastic food. Min is a wonderful woman and she has hired a lot of capable staff. Great people and great food.

What a surprisingly tasty find this is! Yet another place I would have never known existed, along with being a place I never would have even considered checking out based upon the location. Though thanks to my dear yelper friends and there stellar reviews about this place, I decided to give it a shot. Located off Clayton rd, in an older, more run down shopping area in Concord, this (to me) is the least expected place you would find a good breakfast place especially considering the name. The interior of the restaurant almost reminds me of something that could be on Kitchen Nightmares which means, It's completely out dated and grungy. However, with a place as packed as it was when I entered, you know they have to be doing something right. It was so packed , my only option was to get a seat at the booth. Which was fine with me. I was immediately handed the menu from a very friendly server. I knew I wanted a vegetable like omelet, so when I saw there Vegetable omelet with red onions, spinage, tomato's, avocado and jack cheese, I knew what I wanted. I ordered that omelet with Swiss cheese instead. It comes with your choice of toast and hash browns which I opted out on and instead, just had sliced tomato's. I also ordered some coffee. Coffee was certainly decent compared to most mom n pop diners. It took a little over 10 min to recieve my omelet. When it arrived, it was less fluffy than imagined though, quite generous in portion. Tasty it was though!! All the ingredients appeared extremely fresh. Spinage was nice and colorful, avocado was extremely fresh and vibrant in color. All the ingredients married each other wonderfully leaving me quite satisfied. Service was absolutely sincere, professional and friendly. Overall, service was top notch! Food was certainly impressive, and though the ambiance is certainly nothing appealing, everything else is good enough to have you eager to come back.

Very good place for breakfast. I had a hangover and a hankering for some corned beef hash. the cbh was good, nothing overly spectacular, but you get a lot and hashed browns were excellent and cooked perfect. I didn't sample any of the dishes my friends had, but they all looked excellent and they commented as such. You get plenty of food at a decent price. I will be back.

Decent at best. I came here because of the high ratings but I was disappointed. I ordered the pecan waffle and hashbrowns. Wasn't impressed with anything. The hashbrowns were flavorless and my waffle was bland as well. My sister ordered the French toast and it was flavorless. Not sweet at all except for the syrup. Wouldn't recommend or maybe we just ordered the wrong things.

On a Sunday morning, this place was hopping. Though my wife and I got seated within five minutes, we had to wait a long time for a wait person to show up and a long time for our food (I'm not holding this against them, as this place is damn popular for Sunday breakfasts). Excellent menu with a multitude of breakfast options. There's a reason this place is popular!

Min's Kitchen was an unexpected disappointment. it's specialty is "home style cooking". unfortunatley, it resembled my home cooking: burnt. seating is in booths, tables, or at the counter. booth seating was adequate, not cramped. only issue were the twin metal support stands .under the table. (inhibited leg movement) eats: corn beef hash with hash browns (8.75) -hash brown mostly burnt, looked more like mash potatoes than potato shavings -hash also slightly burnt, not so tasty, didn't taste home made, bits of corn beef in it. -food qualtiy didn't match the price drink: "america's best" coffee (1.75) -wasn't their harsh blend, just average, kind of smooth, better than farmers crumbs: -service, coffee refills, checkins superb -open for lunch and breakfast, dinner just some days.

Don't let the name fool you. This is your basic traditional american diner food. My new breakfast spot! A big hearty breakfast at a fair price! Plenty of open tables at noon on a Monday. I ordered the bacon & eggs and received not 2, not 4 but 5 pieces of thick cut bacon (not sure if this is normal or not; but I was happy). I noticed other patrons at nearby tables ordering salads and sandwiches which also looked good. I'll have to switch it up sometime and try the Chicken & Jack sandwich for lunch or early dinner (they close at 3pm Sun thru Wed but are open for dinner until 9 on Thu, Fri & Sat. The menu appears to have changed a little since Andy's excellent upload of all 5 menu pages so I'll be sure to upload some fresh pics!

Went to Min's for breakfast with a friend who is local and loves the place. The food was terrific, fresh squeezed orange juice, perfectly cooked bacon etc. Service was great, quick, friendly, and helpful. However, and this is a big one for me, I was grossed out by the carpet which was disgusting beyond reasonableness and really ruined my rating since I had to question in my mind how sanitary the place is in general. I would probably (maybe) go again next time I'm in town but really, REALLY recommend that they clean or replace the carpet.

Good breakfast & good service!! I ordered the florentine eggs Benedict, it was delicious!! I have to say they serve the best hash browns!! Although I wish these kind of breakfast places served better coffee.

If I could give this place no stars I would. I had a horrible experience when I came here and NO ONE even was apologetic or tried to make it up to me or make it better. Waitresses just carried on with their day like it was normal for a customer to wait almost an hour JUST FOR MY FOOD TO COME OUT. There was only three of us!!!!! Like I said in my last review, she served us food. I took a bite because I was starving. Then she took it away because it was some one else's order. Didn't even say sorry. Didn't keep us updated on if our food was coming out soon or apologize for the long ass wait. All the tables around me had no food and were waiting. We were all looking and eachother and laughing because we were all waiting 45 mins plus for our food and starving. When we confronted the waitress about this, she said "Well on the weekends it's busy". Hell no. I'm never taking any of my friends and family here again. Oh and when we got the food it wasn't even good. Joy of Eating in Vallejo is better. The inside has weird decor and is old.

This place needs a good scrubbing! The carpets are filthy. The food was decent nothing too exciting. Our pancakes were burnt and they don't have warm syrup. The orange juice was the only thing that was good.

AMAZING! Decent service and good hearty breakfast food, which is by far my specialty. This place is probably a good thirty minute drive from me but If I am in walnut creek before 3 pm I usually try to stop here. Honestly, this is some of the best eggs benedict I have ever had. And let me tell you, eggs benedict is my favorite breakfast dish (breakfast is my favorite meal) and I have tried tons and tons of different benedicts from a great deal of different restaurants. This place ranks as the second best I have ever tried. The hollandaise was perfect - creamy, thick, and flavorful. The benedicts I got both came with a hearty serving of the hollandaise without asking, which I like because I usually have to ask for me since I love it so much. I have had the original and the crabs benedict. The crab was absolutely divine. It was my first time having a crab benedict but I liked it much much more than salmon/alaskan style. They give you a TON of crab meat and it is just absolutely perfect. The only thing I did not like about this restaurant were the breakfast potato/hashbrowns. They were very odd, almost like a mixed between mashed potatoes and hashbrowns. I love nice crispy hash browns so I was a little disappointed, but overall very very good nonetheless.

We just wanted to try a new breakfast place in our neighborhood. Came here on New Years Day 2014, sat ourselves. The waitress came over right away and took our order, no fuss. Simple & fast. I ordered the french toast and my fiancee ordered the crab benedict. My french toast was okay, nothing special but the benedict was REALLY good. The place is close, clean, friendly, I'm sure I'll be back here for more breakfast.

Let me give a slight disclaimer...do not go in here if you have even the slightest hint of a hangover. This place is packed to the rafters on a week-end morning and the volume is extremely loud. Slight Hangover and volume aside this is the best breakfast I've had in ages. My friend Erin S ordered the Crab Benedict. The name should be 'The Crab' instead because that is what this dish is all about. Not just a piece here and there hidden in the hollandaise but entire chuncks of leg and claw meat. There must have been an entire KING crab in this dish. Not to mention the whole avocado. I ordered the Florentine Scramble with Jalapeno. This dish was good on it's own but I almost couldn't put my fork down when it came to those glorious potatoes! Jean described them as 'frozen shredded mushiness'! There was a layer of crusty, crispiness on the ouside and moist goodness on the inside. If these things started out frozen I am a all about the frozen food aisle! When we first saw the plates being delivered I was impressed that the serving sizes were not obscene.....until mine came. While not too much it was definitely more than I could eat. Service was very good and the staff was very friendly. Can I take away a star for the 30 - 40 minute wait? No way! The food was fresh and hot when we took our first bite and delicious.

There vegetarian omelette was delicious. Along with their hash browns. And crispy bacon You get your own cream to go with your coffee No need to share. The new York steak sandwiches are good as well.

THis is my new fave breakfast spot in Concord! I have been going to Sugar Plum for 30+ years. I never tried this place out because given the name, I did not figure it was a breakfast spot. I never order benedict at a new spot because I don't trust, but given the fact that they had close to 10 different types, I figured I could not go wrong. I cleaned my plate, which I never do. Also, the hash browns are the BEST...nice and CRISPY! Fresh squeezed OJ tells a lot about a place! You will not be disappointed!

We come all the way from Danville to eat here. Today we met the owner and the restaurant is finally renovated. It's still great food but now the interior is more comfortable. I just wish they could update their tables and booths. The waitress told us they can do a Mickey pancake with fruit for kids, but my daughter was content with her single pancake.

I come here pretty often and absolutely love their crab benedict. Their portions are huge and so delicious. I've also tried their crab omelette and that, too, was amazing. Since they've been open for dinner, I was able to try their salmon with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. It was good, but not the best. Their korean bbq was just ok. Breakfast is a sure win. Service isn't consistent, but it's decent.

I took my family to breakfast here, meaning the round table at the front of the restaurant had patrons ages 4 to 75 seated at it. The waitress was friendly and the service was fast. I urged my grandmother to try the crab benedict. She loved it SO much that she asked my father what it was called at least twice so she could remember to order it next time. My omelette was GINORMOUS and I could only eat about 1/3 of it. It was a standard omelette... nothing special. It was the one with beef and spinach and onions in it. Maybe TOO MANY onions. Still, if size is what you are looking for... get an omelette. My daughter ordered a waffle and bacon. She loved the waffle. The bacon was overcooked and she would not touch it. I don't recall the other orders at the table, but everyone seemed to like their food okay. I am going to say this place is definitely a place I would try again, but next time I had better order one of their specialties because I was not wowed. In sum, portions = large. Flavor = typical diner food.

The food here is definitely not 4 stars by 169 reviews. Here is my verdict of our food: Hash browns: tastes like mashed potatoes with burnt edges Hollandaise sauce: too creamy and yucky. Pour less sauce on the egg Benedicts please Eggs Benedict in California and Crab: english muffin and eggs are ok. Plenty of avocado. Crab is ok. Bacon was burnt. Omelette: it is really an egg burrito. Raw onions and green bell peppers, diced ham, melted cheese wrap in egg. There was also an egg shell in the egg tortilla. Coffee: can't tell if the cup is dirty since the coffee dried up on the mug could possibly be from the cup I ordered and not from a previous customer. Coffee is ok. Low carb breakfast: 1 apple sausage. egg white is real egg white. It's not fake egg white. Overall, I don't think we are coming back since we couldn't even eat half our plates.

This place came highly recommended, not sure why. My very first impression is the place is filthy. Spilled food all over the dirty carpet and the table and seats weren't clean. The silverware and cups provided weren't clean either. How do you miss these most basic details?? We all had breakfast food and it was ok, nothing to get excited about. Average diner fair. The service was fine, but they need to keep the place clean.

Ok ...This place is great. Great service...Never had a bad meal...Wait time when busy is slow when busy...but that's to be expected on a Sunday when everyone wants to go out...I eat breakfast all over Co Co County...and this place rocks it...This brings me the home cooking feel good food that I need. Just a good sit down and eat place...

Well, I'm a transplant from Toronto and Los Angeles to the East Bay. Lets just say, I've seen a lot better. Friendly staff. However, food was mediocre, place is in need of an update -- carpet at a restaurant? Wheres Robert Irvine? However, in this town, you're not finding too many mom and pop owned diners. So, this may have what you are looking for in terms of American breakfast/lunch options.

I'm not recommending this breakfast place to anyone. I went to this place this morning, the waitress took our order without any drink, we were waiting and waiting, water came, and we've been waited more than half hour, we finally got our food. And I ordered bacon with egg, the bacon tasted so hard and oily, I felt like they deep fried the bacon. Well, i.feel so unhappy today. I know it was busy, but they just let people came in without nice service. That's so stupid!

Good food with great portions!! Come with an appetite!!! They have a great menu with lots of choices, that won't break the bank. Every time I've been here, I've been seated promptly, gotten my food quickly, and have had great service!

Min's Kitchen is by far the best and most affordable breakfast place around. Every weekend, we frequent this delectable establishment to satisfy our hunger with huge portions of the Crab Benedict, Chicken Fried steak and eggs, their famous coffee cake, Chocolate Chip pancakes, and Chicken Nuggets. The servers are courteous as they are personable even though they are extremely busy between 8-10 a.m. The dinner menu is also good. The Salmon was fresh and the fried rice perfectly blended with the right amount of salt and steam veggies. Over all if you're looking for something quick, inexpensive and don't mind the cheesy paintings, this is the place to go.

Another great find thru the help of Yelpers! Meant to write the review sooner, but here goes. Went here before our power shopping for Christmas presents with my Hubby. He is a breakfast eater and it's his favorite meal of the day. You walk in and it's like your typical cafe, but bigger. We ordered the coffee, which was so good! It wasn't strong and overpowering, but smooth and tasty. So far so good to start. I ordered the Denver Omelette and my Hubby ordered Eggs Benedict. We were both pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. We cleaned the plates off. Service was great, food came out quickly and get here early, they pack the people in. We were thrilled to find another great breakfast joint that we will be returning too. Thank you again Yelpers for the great find.

Tried this spot out because of the glowing reviews here on yelp. My experience wasn't spectacular, but still good. I had the eggs benedict, and it was delicious. They put LOTS of hollandaise on it, so if you don't like it that way, you should ask for it on the side. The potatoes on the side were pretty good...would have liked them a little crispier. My daughter got her usual waffle (she orders that everywhere, no matter the time of day). She loved it. I tasted a little and thought it was a little heavy. I like my waffles more fluffy and light. Service was pleasant. Reasonably priced. Will definitely come back to try out their lunch items.

Don't let the name of the restaurant fool you; it's not an Asian restaurant, it's all American breakfast and lunch! That's what happened to me when I first drove by this place. They have a great menu and my favorite part is the variety of egg benedicts they have. I ordered the dungeness crab and avocado benedict which comes with hash browns. Wow, it was heaven on a plate. So yummy and good and the hash browns were home made and not the frozen kind. Prices were reasonable, food was great, place was clean, plenty of seating...I'm definitely coming back!

AWESOME ... food is HOT when served, it's fresh, staff is friendly, service is quick, but if you want to linger they don't give you the bums rush. Have gone twice for Eggs Benedict - yum! - with plenty of Hollandaise (Almost as good as mine when I have the time to do it). Also had a great BLT&A sandwich during a lunch meeting - thick bacon that is cooked to perfection so it doesn't break off and scratch the roof of your mouth. Lots of food for the money. We'll be back - maybe a monthly Sunday breakfast tradition!

What a hidden treasure. I assumed Min's to be anything but American diner fare until I started reading reviews on Yelp yesterday. I live within 5 min walk of this place and never made it in until today. The tables and décor are definitely dated, but who cares. The waitress behind the counter was fast, courteous, personable, and appeared to generally know and care about her customers. They've a large rack of customers' personal mugs for regulars. Now for the food...what to get...I had actually gone to Safeway prior to pulling into Mins and had abou $40 worth of breakfast foods in my trunk! But I had to try this place, so I went with the Irish Benedict. It's corned beef hash in place of the Canadian bacon. OMG. SOOOO good. I'm actually only about 6 bites in and decided I had to review immediately. Hash browns were delivered as expected- nice and crunchy! The portions are more than generous. Double what you need, but just want you want. It only took about 10 min for my food to be ready for me and in the meantime, I was given coffee and a pleasurable wait at the counter. They've a couple of wide screen tv in there as well and I caught site of some inexpensive beer prices, so it may be a decent place to sit very low key and have a beer at some point. I say go- enjoy. I'm not sure about their hours. They are open for dinner 3 nights a week.

Good place... Best side of fruit I've seen thus far in my life, which my gf seemed to really enjoy. I'm sure most people assume this is a whole in the wall chinese restaurant from the outside, but actually a nice pretty good size american restaurant. We got seated quickly on a saturday morning. We also got to sit in a booth, which was nice to see. Not a lot of mom and pop please like this have booths, I wonder if they installed them as part of the design or if it was there already. Staff was pretty quick and friendly, looked like a mix of family and a few other servers and cooks. I got a pancake breakfast plate which was all around very good and I liked the syrup bottles, nice little signature min's kitchen thing. and as @Robin L. said - Thank you Yelpers, had it not been for a 4 and half star rating for a brunch/breakfast restaurant in Concord. I would not have come either! I will for sure be coming back here!

Very disappointed for our first visit there. I had heard such great things about it. The service was so slow and it took 40 min. to get our food. The waitress hardly came by our table to check on us. My Benedict I ordered was cold and my son's hot chocolate was way too hot to be served to a child, he burnt his tongue very badly. The biscuits are more like a cake and gravy was not good either. It was not worth the wait.

I am always in search of a good breakfast spot. I tend to like greasy spoons. So I yelped a breakfast place, and found this one. I gotta say, I'm not terribly impressed. I thought the breakfast was ok, but I've definitely had better breakfasts in the neighborhood. I'd come back out of convenience, but I'd probably try somewhere else first...

This is a very unassuming spot, located within a strip mall. My first impression when I walked in was not very positive...the furniture is really old looking and not much decor to speak of. If I wasn't with a friend who loved the place I would not have given it a chance but I'm so happy I did. The menu is great, LOTS to choose from and more than just typical diner foods with creative ingredients and combos (I noticed eggs and calimari on the menu to give an idea) I think there were about 9 different kinds of benedicts!! We got standard breakfast this time but will definitely be back to try more because everything that was coming out to the surrounding tables looked fantastic. Also, they have TVs so the game was on while we were eating breakfast. That was so awesome!

Went to Min's Kitchen this weekend just to try one of their benedicts. Saw on their reviews that those are the most popular and/or suggested. We arrived around 11am, walked in and seated ourselves. I was expecting to see a little hole in the wall type spot but it was a decent size restaurant with plenty of clean and open tables and booths and random art deco paintings on the wall. I ordered the COMBO BENEDICT (Dungeness/Shrimp/Avocado) which came with hash-browns. The English muffins were an average size topped with medium/chunky pieces of crab and thick bay shrimps. On top of that were slices of fresh avocado and perfectly poached eggs covered in hollandaise sauce. The hash-browns were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. It did NOT fail at all and was a dang good benedict. It was very filling, I didn't even finish the other one. My step-son ordered the BACON & EGGS plate and subbed the hash-browns for fries. The bacon slices weren't thin at all, a good size and amount. The only thing is, they were a little burnt for him. Husband ordered BLUEBERRY PANCAKES, which was good too. 2 thick and fluffy average-size pancakes (plus one mini size on top) mixed with but not drowned in blueberries was very filling. I'd definitely return just to order the benedict again and also to try other items on the menu. The service was good, pretty quick and they kept the coffee coming. The price was pretty reasonable. We got above plus 2 OJs, bottomless coffee and a hot chocolate for less than $40 (including tip).

We walked in, sat down, and my husband went to the bathroom. While I waited I looked around at the patrons- tattooed, super-sized people eating giant plates of breakfast food. My husband comes out of the bathroom with a horrified look on his face. Says it was worse than an unattended gas station restroom in cleanliness and smell. Makes me go see what the women's restroom look like. I walk in and start dry heaving from the smell of mold...walk out, sit back down and see a strand of long hair stuck on the menu...leave a dollar for our servers inconvenience and dry heave all the way out of the place.

Seat yourself. Eat plenty. Walk out happy. Average spot for good ol' American breakfast. Personally, I enjoy corned beef hash, and bacon & eggs. Place gets pretty busy during breakfast and brunch hours!

Min's, I thought this place was going to be Chinese food but nope good ol American cuisine and real cute inside. I got the combination benedict, it had shrimp, crab, avacado, and hash brown on the side. All I can say is YUMO! We also had the coffee cake and it was good, not great but good!

Server is polite and attentive but not to the point that hovers around. I had the poach eggs and wheat toast. Cooked just right. Almost did not have Camomile tea when I asked, but she found one! Ambiance is as expected on a Tuesday mid-morning quiet not too many people around; probably the regulars. I like it we will come back when I am around this area again.

Seriously I love the Irish Benedict at Mins. It's corned beef hash instead of the regular Canadian bacon. What makes it even better is the hollandaise sauce. To die for!!!! To top it off the hashbrown are perfectly crunchy on the outside and mushy on the inside. I'm getting hungry just writing this. This place also serves mimosas so that adds a nice little touch whenever I come here for breakfast. If it wasn't so fattening id probably be here every weekend for breakfast.

I have been here with the family a few times and pretty much have been satisfied. The Coffee, service and food were all good. Since I have been on my eggs benedict mission and this place comes up first on the list on yelp for eggs benedict I gave it a try. It was good, but it was not great and I will definitely not be ordering it again. The hollandaise sauce was lacking in flavor and seemed to thicken up a bit quickly. Although we don't always look for deals when it comes to eating out, for the price he paid, I would have much rather tried someplace new or drove the extra 5 blocks to eat at Jacks. Now they have a great eggs benedict and I don't quit understand why they are not at the top of the yelp list.

Honestly, I was quite surprised with this place. I crashed at my friend's house and when we woke up we decided to get something to eat and ended up here. When I saw the name, I was really expecting some sort of fusion breakfast, but I was pleasantly surprised. There was no wait when we went and it was a weekend around 12 PM. so we were seated immediately. The wait staff was really nice and were really on top of making sure we had everything we needed (she must have filled up my water glass at least 4 times). The food we ordered were fried zucchini, whole shrimp sandwich melt, and a crab eggs Benedict. The zucchini were fried really well and had a nice crunch. I made the mistake of biting into it when it was like fresh out of the fryer so all the water from the zucchini burned my tongue, but it was still delicious. The shrimp sandwich melt was basically those small bay shrimp mixed in seasoned mayonnaise and grilled like a grilled cheese sandwich, served with sweet potato fries. It was good, but for me, that was a little too much mayo. I know it is used to bind it all together, but I feel, for my tastes, it could have used a little less. Now onto the crab eggs Benedict. This was really good. They used the crab leg meat and there was quite a bit of crab meat in it. It was by far my favorite dish of the 3. A very pleasant dining experience.

I love this place. I have only been here for breakfast so I cant comment on their lunch and dinner. But you can get a light breakfast of fresh fruit (in a melon bowl) cottage cheese and tomatoes. Or you can go big and get their many choices of eggs benedict. They have different kinds but my fav is the irish. They make their corned beef hash by scratch same with the hollandaise sauce which is amazing. Plus you get their well known hashbrows... if you like crispy hashbrowns you wont like it.... its kind of like mashed potatoes with a crispy outside... fresh as well. You cant go wrong here. the only complaints are: soda is cans so you have to pay a huge price for a can of soda vs free refills at most places, not sure why they dont just have a reg soda fountain. And no child menu (BUT THEY WILL HALF ORDER) but it can get pricey doing that. Either way the cons are minimal and can be overlooked due to great service and even better food.

Even though it was nearly 1:00 PM, my friend and I were craving breakfast food. So, what did we do? We searched Yelp for a trusted and an affordable breakfast place. Min's Kitchen came up and we decided to head on over. We both order the two egg breakfast with chicken apple sausage, which came with home fries and a choice of biscuit, toast or English muffin. We both got the biscuit. My reaction? Meh, it was okay. Not bad, but not extremely good too. Maybe we didn't order the right thing... It's a pretty laid back vibe, you sit yourself, they take your order, refill your coffee (if applicable), give you the check once all the food has be served, and you pay up front. The decor is cute, kind of homey.. not fancy, but not completely terrible. Anyway, I would still recommend it.. for those looking for a mom and pop restaurant... better than the breakfast chain restaurants. :o)

Thank you Yelpers, had it not been for a 4 and half star rating for a brunch restaurant in Concord, I swear I would have never ventured all the way out to here to try Min's...but might I say, this place is worth driving out to. Went here with Laura D for a little after-birthday, birthday brunch. Sat in the parking lot for a few minutes, thinking why did I pick this place for Laura's birthday (area and parking lot is a wee bit sketchy), only to end the meal thinking the same thing in a very different context (great meal + cheery atmosphere + good price = happy brunch)! I had an egg white omelet that was filled with fresh ingredients, raisin toast and these smashed hash brown things that were so delicious. Next time I'll try one of the gabunch of benedicts they have on the menu (variety really is the spice of brunch). Great food all for a reasonable price...can't beat it. Way to go Min!

The wife and I went to breakfast here this morning, and it was very delicious. My wife got the classic Eggs Benedict, and I got the Tommy omelet. We also get a side of bacon and a side of sausage too. The food itself as delicious, and we got large portions. My only complaint about our visit was the service was a little slow.... it took 10 minutes to get menus! Also we were warned that it was extremely busy so food would take a while. My second complaint was that our fresh squeezed oj had way too much pulp in it! It was almost drinking a smoothie than juice. Awesome food, I'll be back when its a little slower.

Tastiest combo crab and shrimp avocado benedict and they do not skimp on the ingredients. You will be chewing on either crab or bay shrimp or both in every bite. I'm not a fan of their homemade potato so I substitue for a generous portion of green salad for $1 extra or fruit bowl for $2 extra. Either way, you'll get your money worth. The only down side is service can be slow. It may take up to 30 minutes to get your food. So bring your patience with you when you dine.

Service can be slow- but who cares. Food is good. Crab Benedict is out of this world. Might want to ask for your sauces on the side. Extra crunchy hashbrowns too $6 for a Ribeye steak side that's bigger than my hands Fish & Chips - huge! Big enough for two. Came out HOT (like fried food should!) Try the fruit cup!

when it comes to diners... classic american food.... Min's kitchen is the standard.... forget the chain restaurant.... they don't even compare... not even close.... this place is not about the label... it's about the food.... picked up food a couple of times now... and seriously taste like home cooking.... the salad.... whoa... ...... nobody betta.... seriously.... hands down.... the best restaurant on clayton road.... i still gotta try their burgers.... ...... ...... ......

I eat here basically every weekend. My usual breakfast is either Jose's or the garden scramble (not the omelet). If you go for the garden consider adding bacon to it (just $0.75)! And, if you like side dishes the coffee cake is simple, but terribly good. There's nothing fancy here, just good food and great service. Great local, family owned diner.

Visiting Concord for the weekend and was brought there by my friend for some breakfast and I was blown away by their Eggs Benedict. I had the California Benedict and have never had better. All the ingredients tasted awesome together. I will be going there on my way out of town on Monday for breakfast again.

One of the best breakfast places in the East Bay. Crab & Avocado Eggs Benedict is unreal. I guess the cooks and employees from Plaza Cafe in Pleasant Hill left to come over here. Plaza Cafe was my favorite breakfast spot from 2000-2009. 2010 on its now Min's.

This is my favorite place to go to for breakfast on a Sunday. The biscuits and gravy and chicken fried steak are awesome and the service is always good. Plus they always have on Premier League (English Soccer) so I can enjoy some good football while having a good meal. Does get a little too crowded sometimes but thats a good thing i guess!!!

My friend and I went there this morning based on Yelp reviews with a serious hankering for eggs benedict. We both ordered the classic, I ordered my hashbrowns extra crispy. I have, in all honesty, had equal or better eggs benedict at any big chain breakfast place, and the hash browns were better at the chains. The eggs were properly poached, I'll give them that. The hollandaise tasted like...I can't even say it tasted yellow because that would be too bright. No butter or lemon came through, I'm not sure what it was to be honest other than made from a powder base. The muffins were soggy, the canadian bacon was tough. You would think a place that has 8 kinds of eggs benedict would do it well, but no. The hash browns were odd, like riced potatoes put on a griddle? Not shredded, not chopped with onions etc. The coffee was good though. I don't hate Min's, they seem to have a following, why I'm not sure, but good for them, I don't get it.

This past Sunday we came here for breakfast and I must say this is my new fav go to place for breakfast in Concord. I had the fiesta special and everything was tasty and fresh. From the coffee to the flour tortilla, avocado, salsa and potatoes. I could go on an on. When I ordered the dish I didn't know it came with eggs and when I recieved the dish they brought me eggs cooked medium which I don't like so I asked for scrambled eggs and literally within 2 minutes it went back to the kitchen and came out with scramble eggs. Super fast and friendly service. We never had to ask for refills since the staff came by every so often with water or coffee. Their chicken fried steak had a good amount of breading as well and the gravy was super yummy. I think I may make this a bi-monthly spot to eat at.

Amazing breakfast ! This place needs to be on diners , drive ins and dives for sure! When you first walk up your like, "really , here?" But once inside you see its packed and after you eat you know why ! The service can be a little shotty, but its because they really are busy ! Enjoy traditional breakfast or go for the extreme with their fresh " Crab Benedict" ! A must do for breakfast !

I was a little on the fence between 2 or 3 stars for this place, and it looks to me like most people who shared my sendiments gave it 3 so I'll go with 2. This place in my opinion is very utilitarian, and I actually think a better name would be "Min's Cafeteria". Now, that might not be a bad thing depending on how you're feeling. You walk in, seat yourself, order, eat and pay yourself. There really isn't much interaction, character, or anything else for that matter. The food was good don't get me wrong, about par for the course. They have a fairly large menu which includes the usual plus things like calamari, shrimp louie's, and a large salad menu. Everything was "Good" and seemed to be fresh-ish. The gripe I have it that it just "was what it was". There didn't seem to be any character to the food, no love put into it, pretty much as generic as things get. I'd suspect they buy low priced ingredients in uber-bulk. This is why I say a better name would be "Min's Cafeteria", you order what you want, and it comes in a fashion that you would expect from a cafeteria at a school. Anyways, as a quick meal or early breakfast in the Concord area I guess I wouldn't steer someone away... But I would make a strong recommendation to pass, and instead try the Bay Leaf Cafe in Todos Santos Plaza just a few stoplights down the road.

I think Min's is catching on for me, a lot more than I thought originally. The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I'm lazy and it's way to convenient for me to come here haha. B R I E F S U M M A R Y (Updated) -- Parking lot might get packed but never seems to be a wait -- This place is busy but not crazy busy -- Service is consistently good -- Food is consistently good -- Chorizo omelet or scramble FTW -- Hashbrowns still not impressive -- Coffee cake is a WINNER -- Side of fruit is ripe, delish and fresh OK, I've came here every weekend for the last 3 weeks. I think that means it's time for an update! I've finally tried the coffee cake and it was delish. It's like cake with brown sugar on top then hot butter poured on it. It's pretty good, but warning you might get full fast! I'm addicted to their chorizo! I've opted out of potatoes as of late but their omelettes and scrambles are awesome and good! My GF usually makes her own with shrimp and spinach. I also have ordered the chorizo with tortillas :) Their basics are very good as well. Service has always been good. It isn't the best service ever but they're super busy and they do a great job at pumping out a lot of food fast. I haven't had any bad service. I'll be back again, very soon!

My absolute favorite place for breakfast, I do my best to get over here once a week, and I always leave here satisfied. The atmosphere is wonderful, the place seems so alive, especially on the weekends. Service is hit-or-miss, as there are a few fantastic waitresses here (Cara is a treat), and then some i've seen sitting at a table with other customers and playing with their phones while my food is in the window...yeah...anyways... I cannot speak for all of the food here, as I have only ever gotten one thing here, but OH. MY. MOTHERLOVING. GOD is it tasty - the Irish Benedict.Think of your everyday eggs benedict, but substitutethe canadian bacon for none other than corned beef hash. Take a moment, let that sink in...you good? Ok, so yes, this is simply fantastical, and the fact that they douse it with their marvelous hollandaise is even better (mix in the extra hollandaise in with their "hash browns", you'll see what I mean). And at $8.50 for a huge portion, both my stomach and wallet feel full when I leave. If you haven't been here before you really owe it to yourself to do so, well, if you like good food that is.

I found this place on yelp. It does get packed around 9-10am. get there fast to find a table. Great prices. Good food. Why are you still reading this?? Go already!

In my last updated I noted that Min's needed a bit of a facelift and the staff needed to be a bit more organized during busier times. Min has made some decor changes which has the place looking MUCH better. And the staff is improving. The last few visits have been much better where the service is concerned and the food, as always, is great!

Min's Kitchen is a great place - clean, bright, extensive menu for breakfast and lunch, only. The service is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. The portions are generous and the food quality is excellent. Breakfast is a real treat here. The bacon is the best domestic bacon. Try the Crab Louie or the Crab Cheddar Cheese Melt sandwich for lunch. They have sweet potato fries. These are great - healthier than French fries, slightly crispy on the outside and very tender on the inside and not the slightest hint of excess grease. On another trip, my wife and I split the Crab/Avocado Benedict and it was plenty for each of us! This place is really a bargain! This is a piece of the American dream. Min and her husband are from Korea. They worked hard, opened this place and through hard work, good food, large quantities, reasonable prices, good service and a really amazing, friendly attitude and in just a little over a year, have made this place into a truly popular and successful place! Try it. You'll like it! Jim

Min's Kitchen has become a family favorite to go for breakfast and lunch. Their food is fantastic and all homemade. I keep trying new things and like everything I try. For Breakfast, I love their skillets with Chorizo and eggs. I cant think of a place I have been that serves better hash browns. They are not greasy, but have that nice fried, crunchy taste. Delicious! For lunch I love the Tuna salad. Its huge and packed with all kinds of goodies, including avocado, cheese, egg and other fresh items. Another time I had their homemade chicken noodle soup which is made fresh each morning. It was so good, I went home and tried to duplicate it. I came close, but not quite. The service at Min's is definitely above average. I have never had problems getting the attention of the waitresses. Also have never had to wait too long for the food. The staff are very friendly. I would definitely give Min's 5 stars if it were not for the bathrooms. They look like they were installed in the 70's, old tile, old floors, paint, etc. They are generally pretty clean, but have a dirty feel to them since they are so dated. I think restaurants would be smart to spend more money on putting in nice restrooms for the patrons. If Min's ever does, I will increase my rating to 5 stars. Still, an overall A+ for the food and service. I will keep coming back.

Read all the 4 star reviews and some of the 2 and 1 stars, so thought we'd try it out. Went on a Friday morning and it wasnt overly busy. we were seated promptly and the waitrs was very nice. We both ordered omlettes with the homemade buscuits and hash browns. Both omlettes were decent sized and looked good, but both lacked any significant flavor. We were both surprised at how bland they were. Usually most omlettes have some sort of binding sauce/cheese/flavor to the stuf inside, but here it just atsted like they chooped up the filoing and threw it into a very well cooked, albeit also lackingin flavor, omlette shell. The potatoes were cooked well and crispy, but once again very bland - like they hadn't used any salt or pepper on them while cooking. The buscuit was really the standout - even though it was square. Overall the place was large and clean with a friendly wait staff who were appropriately attentive. The food was just OK for us that day.

This place has the BEST breakfast food around. I used to go practically every weekend when my BF lived in Concord. Sadly, we both now live in Martinez and only get over there on special occasions. My BF's favorite is the Irish Benedict. I switch around between the Breakfast Burrito and the Corned Beef Hash. Their hashbrowns are awesome! They are like creamy mashed potatoes on the inside and crispy on the outside. The juxtaposition of textures is a delight! I've honestly never tried something there that I didn't like. Oh, and the coffee cake is to die for! Just know that you are probably putting on an extra 5 pounds by eating it. You definitely don't go here for the ambiance. The place is really a hole in the wall as far as decor. The paintings are really interesting. But everything is clean and the food just can't be beat!

The food is super yummy! The portions are quite generous and the servers are nice. The food comes out quickly and they keep your coffee cup full. Also it is not expensive. However I am only giving 4 stars because each time I have been there I have noticed several un-bussed tables and waitresses standing around. It doesn't take much time at all to go clean off a table. Overall I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend!

Min's Kitchen has the potential to be one of the best breakfast places. I was super excited to try this place out, particularly since it was our first official "roomies' lunch." We walked in on a Sunday, and it was packed! You self-seat so we chose a good sized table, positioned between the two flat screens. I already knew that I was going to order the Crab and avocado benedict. The hubby ordered the corned beef hash (one of his breakfast favs) and my friend ordered the french toast. We were starving at 12 pm and every dish looked delicious. So we ordered orange juices (not fresh squeezed b/c we didn't want pulp). We were waiting in anticipation for our food! ...And we waited....And we waited...and we waited for 35 minutes for our food; hence, why I prefaced that Min's Kitchen has the potential to be one of the best breakfast places. However, the chefs are just not pumping out the food fast enough to meet the customers' demands. We inquired about our food, and the waitress said, "The kitchen is backed up." This was a problem because my hubby had to get to work. Everytime the waitress walked around us, she avoided eye contact and seemed afraid to talk to us. We were eyeing the kitchen, trying to see if any of the dishes matched our order. Several plates came out and the other staff took them to tables. We overheard another waitress say, "At last. Thanks for the wait." Our food finally came out, and our waitress apologized for the wait. We had 15 minutes flat to polish off these plates. The benedict literally melted in my mouth! The holladaise sauce was perfect, and it complemented the minced crab and avocado. The hash browns are more like fried mash potatoes, which I loved, particularly in the holladaise sauce. The hubby noted that the corned beef hash was possibly the best he has ever taken, and that is a tall compliment for him. My friend enjoyed his side of crispy bacon, but didn't seem too thrilled with the french toast. I let him taste my benedict and he said he was going to order that next time. Bottom Line: Great food, but be prepared to wait a long time for the food. Staff won't really acknowledge the wait until you mention it. All is forgiven as long as I can order the benedict =D

The Mister & I tried Min's after serveral messages from my folks at yelp. I've honestly been meaning to try them out since they took over the Pho restaurant my hubbs adored. The only caveat: waking up before they close. I like to treasure my lazy weekend mornings! This is the place to get a good breakfast in Concord - We lack really good restaurants here - and this is a gem! My Favorite : Crab & Shrimp Benedict - THE BEST. You don't get that 'throwup/ate too much feeling' since their Benedict Sauce is made just right. I also like to substitute my potatoes with Sweet Potato Fries. There are some healthy options here too : My wifey likes to get Eggwhites, Whole Wheat Toast and Chicken Apple Sausages. - I haven't tried them, but she says they're good =) Skip the Fresh Squeezed juice. OverPriced for something I can make 90% cheaper @ home.

Ordered the Crab Benedict. The crab didn't taste fresh. Tasted like crab does when you buy it at the store, bring it home and leave it in the fridge for 3 days and decide you need to eat it up before it goes bad and then kick yourself for not eating it sooner when it's fresh. The price for crab benedict was reasonable and the hollandaise sauce was pretty good. Eggs were poached well, potatoes were reasonably good, service was great. The crab should've been fresher.

BEST BREAKFAST. EVER. This place is AMAZING. Why?? Because everything I've eaten there has blown me away. I hate orange juice. No really. I HATE orange juice. The only thing I hate more is pulp. It's just plain nasty. But their pulpy, freshly squeezed orange juice is a treat in itself. My favorite meal of all time is their steak breakfast. A great cut of meat, alongside some over-medium eggs (by the way, the FIRST AND ONLY place I've encountered in my life that has made an over medium egg, not a fucking burnt over easy egg) and extra crunchy home fries. Ahhh the homemade biscuit. That is another treat you'll only find at Min's. Put some of the Smucker's Apple Cinnamon jelly on it, and it tastes so good, you'll swear you're eating dessert. If you are in the Concord area (like within a freakin 25 mile radius!), you have to have to HAVE TO stop at Min's for breakfast. They're open 6am to 2pm daily at this point, I think. So get your ass up and EAT.

So I recently was invited to this place just last week with a friend who found them on yelp. I live very close and did not even know it was in my neighborhood. We went it it was really good,. Pricing is fair. Do not let the outside fool you, its big and very nice inside. I have been here now three times and a little over a week, It is my new favorite spot..

The food is good the service is excellent but the bathrooms need a lot of TLC especially the men's room. The booths are in bad shape some of the seats have rips and are very uncomfortable to sit on. Bathrooms have been updated! Now fix the booths.

  • Andy N.

The food is simply good. The eggs benedict no matter what you version you want, is good. I would have had a more pleasant time if the waitresses would greet you and take you to your booth. I sat at a booth for a good 5 minutes without any acknowledgement that I even existed until I moved to a different booth. They are friendly when you leave, as do say goodbye but I want to enjoy the same experience when I come in. A simple "Hello" can make a difference.

Our experience here was just Okay. Ordered crab benedict with eggs poached well (I can't do gooey whites), but the cook didn't get the memo or maybe just missed it. When I poked through the egg, it was literally NOT COOKED! as in RAW! She must have noticed my face because she came right over... I just told her that it was unsafe and I didn't feel comfortable eating it; I did not want a re-make. She insisted on re-making it and assured that it would be quick. Okay then. Unfortunately, when the plate came back, the only new item were the nicely poached eggs!! She (the owner) had decided to keep the now-soggy english muffins with uncooked egg slime all over them, along with the cold crab meat, then just plop a fresh pair of eggs on top. Wow!! Obviously, I still wasn't going to eat raw-egg-soaked bread cakes so I just didn't eat, since others in the group were pretty much already done. Everyone else's food was good, hot, & made correctly. We tried again a few weeks / months later (long enough so they could forget my face, lol), and they got the order right!! Ms. Min should not re-use old, soggy food, but sometimes other cultures don't think exactly alike... Service was good despite my complaints, so 3 stars!!

Reno's Review: [One Star] The waffles were too sweet. The hot cocoa was too late. I liked the syrup. Cinzia's Review: [Four Stars] I liked the waffles w lots of syrup. We had a fun time together. Meg's Review: [Three Stars] I ordered the eggs benedict, they had to sub out ham bc they were out of Canadian bacon, boo. I wasn't a fan of the hashbrowns, the potatoes were left in very large pieces ["house cut'] and weren't cooked enough. It's the first time I didn't eat them all, I just skimmed the crispy bits off the top. There was way too much hollandaise sauce, but it had a good flavor. They brought out the kids' waffles at different times saying they only have one waffle maker. The forgot about the hot cocoas until we were almost finished with our breakfast, but made up for it by taking them off the bill. Service was really friendly, although not entirely effective, and I'm not sold on the food. They have an extensive menu for both breakfast and lunch, but don't have a kid's menu.

Min's has the value/quality ratio down! Large portions of good food that leave you with enough leftovers for a second meal. I enjoyed the crab melt and house salad. I ate the very large house salad and half my sandwich. The iceberg lettuce in the salad and sandwich were too wet. Other dining buddies enjoyed the shrimp benedict, fish and chips w/sweet potato fries and Florentine eggs w/biscuit. The benedict and eggs came w/potatoes that were very brown and crispy on one side. The sweet potato fries were excellent and very fresh. The biscuit was big and square, cut out of a larger pan of biscuits. It's a busy place. Food is good. Service was good, they kept on refilling water and coffee. Support a local business!

Finally decide to try this place after the old pho place closed at the same location. It was surprisingly good. My wife had the combo eggs benedict with hash brown. It had a lot of crab and shrimp inside. I ordered a canadian bacon swiss burger with fries. We also shared a bacon waffle, because we saw that people were talking highly of it on yelp. We enjoyed every bite of our meal. The service is a little slow but they were nice.

We decided to try this place for breakfast. I had french toast - it was pretty good, nice and fluffy. The bacon was so-so. The staff was just "okay" not really great service. I had to ask for things like powdered sugar for the french toast - which I think should be standard, and for extra butter as there wasn't much on it.

I've been Yelped! I guess it happens sometimes. We saw the positive reviews for this place and decided to check it out for breakfast. Our initial impression wasn't great - we sat down in a booth with badly cracked and torn upholstry and it was freezing cold in the place. While we waited for a server, we heard the table behind us complaining about how long they'd been waiting for their food. We stayed and ordered anyway, we are pretty easy to please and thought we'd make the best of it. The table behind us got their food, and sent it back because it was cold. Mind you, the place wasn't very busy, and we watched the servers just standing around making conversation with the regulars for long stretches while food sat up on the pass waiting to be delivered. At another table, the buser poured a full tray of waters and juices all over the patrons, then just stood there and stared at them til a server came over and told him to clean it up. Our food took well over 30 minutes (pancakes and bacon and french toast and bacon) and it also arrived cold. We reluctantly told the server we were leaving. Needless to say, we will not be back. Bummer.

This little hole in the wall place is a diamond in the rough. We (my boyfriend and I) probably would not have discovered this place if it hadn't been for the 4 star review at over 100 reviews. That rating is what made this place "try-able" for us. Not to mention it's just down the street from my BF's place which is also very nice. So we decided to try breakfast at this place one Saturday morning. Needless to say we were pleasantly surprised. I ordered a scramble of some sort but the real winner at this place was their side of fruit. I asked for a side of fruit instead of hash browns in my attempt to be a bit healthier and the waitress said that they could accommodate my request as long as I paid a dollar or two extra. I didn't mind because it always costs a little bit more to be healthier at most restaurants. She brought me the fruit before the rest of my meal and I was just wowed by the variety of fruit and the size of the fruit plate as well. The funniest part was that me and my boyfriend were just talking about another breakfast place that had one of the nicer sides of fruit I had ever seen, but this one at Min's Kitchen absolutely takes the cake. At most restaurants I'm usually surprised to see anything other than watermelon, honey dew, cantaloupe, or pineapple in a side of fruit but here they completely caught me off guard when I also saw not just strawberries but blackberries, blueberries, pieces of pear, apple, peaches, apricots, plums, and lord knows what else. The whole freaking farmer's market was in that side of fruit. I was really pleased. A few dollars extra well spent if you ask me. Aside from my amazement with the side of fruit, my food was decent and the coffee was decent. I always enjoy my coffee a little watery and that's exactly the kind of coffee Min's Kitchen had. Not to mention someone was always constantly filling up my coffee and water and that's always an extra star worthy. So if you're ever in Concord on Clayton Road and you want a simple place to have breakfast at, I would suggest you stop by Min's Kitchen and see what's up.

The menu is impressively filled with specialty dishes you won't find at your typical breakfast place, such as shrimp melt (de-li-cious) and lobster benedict (ab-so-lut-ely scrumptious). The side of fries is a mountain of potato pleasure. Maybe mountain range would be more appropriate, since it really was that big. Plus, extra points for offering sweet potato fries! Hardly anybody does that, and they were well prepared. The service staff was nice, but not super prompt with visiting our table. The restaurant was pretty ugly. It was clearly a mishmash of interiors and they didn't bother trying to cover it up. Our table was next to a tile wall, which we suspect at one time was a bathroom, but the wall just behind us was drywalled and painted. My sister thought the yellow paint was charming, but I found it too harsh. There are also faded, crooked pictures hung on the walls that didn't match, and signs sloppily hung up. I would definitely not go here for the atmosphere. Just make sure you're going with someone pretty to look at. :)

A pleasant surprise for sure! Considering the location/ the complex it was in- you would not expect a delicious brunch place to be wedged in the corner. My two friends and I wanted to meet up for brunch somewhere in between where we both lived and after doing some research, I read some good reviews about this place so decided hey why not. The combo benedict ($10.50) with shrimp crab and avocado- delicious. The sauce wasn't overwhelming at all and all the flavors just married well together. One of my friends ordered the pecan waffle which also looked quite tasty. We all split a side of fruit for $4- well worth it. The fruit was fresh, ripe, sweet, and in a generous size bowl. I'd definitely come back here to try some other items on the menu. Those whole wheat blueberry pancakes or the chocolate pancakes definitely were calling my name.

I didn't even think about coming here until I noticed what great reviews it has been getting and also the number of check-ins from a few reviewers... some have been here 15+ times, which made me want to try it even more! and I'm so glad I did.... We came for brunch on a Sunday. We didn't know the drill, so we walked in and waited for someone to tell us where to sit but I guess you seat yourself. After being seated we were overwhelmed by all that the menu had to offer. I ended up getting the Combo Benedict which included crab, shrimp and avocado. OMG! It was SOOOOO good, I inhaled it! I had also shared the bacon waffle with my husband and it was also wonderful... the bacon was in every bite and it was very flavorful. Everything was delicious! I can't wait to come back and try other things.

Love this place for breakfast! Giant portions, eggs always cooked just right, friendly service! It is usually packed, but they seem to move things along pretty well. Every once in a while, we have to wait a bit longer for our food, but it's worth it!

I'm not sure what more I would ask of them. The cut hash browns are out of this world, and the eggs benedict are just classic. Fresh oj or Minute Maid, really? Nice to have the choice. I tried the ham and eggs last visit and was just totally satisfied with the breakfast. The family ordered stuff all over the menu and everyone was satisfied. Even my vegetarian wife enjoyed the meal. Concord has a jewel here. Service was good and the place was pretty busy. If you like country style breakfast, look no further.

Great place for breakfast... I think they serve it all day. I usually go here for breakfast on the weekends because all the other places stop serving breakfast at 11am. Great selection on their menu... I usually get the Farmer's Breakfast burrito. nom nom nom. Minus one star for slow service. No matter if the place is empty or packed, the service is always slow and not really attentive. There will be tables that sit un-bused and not cleaned for a while. Big downfall when its packed, since you'll usually have to claim a dirty table and wait until the come and clean it. yuck!!!

Yay! A nice restaurant discovered via Yelp -- and in Concord no less! I just came back from Lunch here -- and my 5 coworkers and I were all very pleased with our food. We'll be back. We all ordered very different things: breakfast waffle, sausage, steak sandwich, burger, some other sandwich, and I got a chicken + avocado + bacon sandwich. The service was friendly and it was average time to get our food after ordering. The food tasted fresh and surprisingly healthy! Bonus! We were all happy though, and the prices are reasonable. The only minor complaint was I got swiss cheese instead of pepper jack cheese on my sandwich. The swiss is what comes on the sandwich and I asked for a substitution. I didn't get it my way -- but what can you do? The inside was a very nice bright happy yellow. it's clean and the decorations are just the right amount of random. I stared at a shelf full of random mugs (Mercedes mugs, citi mugs, random stuff) while behind me was a wall of nicely framed art. When you walk in, you're welcomed by a fridge -- that you think should be full of desserts or ice cream -- but instead have food for the kitchen. I guess they needed the space? It's a lot bigger inside than I expected, and our party of 6 was comfortably seated at a table for 8. I liked my sweet potato fries, I've have better and had worse, but hey -- can't complain. I wonder what was there before Min's. They have a really nice bar counter and really nice high chairs that seem a bit nicer than the rest of the restaurant. Oh, and finally, don't let the name confuse you! No Asian food here.

This review is for breakfast only; After hearing good things about this place I finally made it! The restaurant is nothing fancy; the place is very loud, but service is very friendly. I tried the eggs benedict, traditional style. The sauce had a lack of "freshly-made" for my spoiled little taste buds. But overall they were good. Not spectacular, just plain good. The potatoes that came with it were way too mooshy for me and I did not eat them. My daughter had the waffle, she said it tasted like a donut. She loved her food.

We were pleasantly surprised to walk in here as we didn't expect to have a large welcoming space in a strip mall. We all enjoyed our breakfast dishes, shrimp and avocado benedict, chicken fried steak, and chorizo omelette. However, the service was a bit slow. The gravy on the chicken fried steak was on the thick side and we were charged a lot for substituting for less carbs. Overall, we would return here to try other dishes and hopefully the service will be faster than our first visit.

My wife and I tried Min's Kitchen on a Friday around 11:00 a.m. for breakfast. We were greeted immediately by Min? (older Asian woman) and told to sit anywhere we wanted. Unfortunately, we sat around for 12 minutes before a waitress came to our table (had to grab our own fricking menus). Then it took five more fricking minutes for her to deliver two coffees and water. The place was NOT busy - maybe seven tables in use with two waitresses and Min. The place has its share of regular customers, mostly seniors, whom the waitresses hover around (better tips - I think not). The experience would have been salvaged if the food was good - it was NOT. The corned beef hash was as burnt as the hash browns (chunky potatoes which everyone else would call country potatoes). The waffle was chewy (fricking dense for a thin waffle - think of Ole's in Alameda). The coffee was weak but was at least refilled twice. I guess it would have been better if we sat at the counter so we would NOT have been invisible customers. They seem to concentrate their efforts on the local seniors for repeat business. Out-of-towners should just drive on by without stopping.

First of all if you're starving don't eat here because the food takes about 40 minutes to an hour to get to you! First time I went to eat there I was happy. It took a little long but the food was good so I went home happy. Second time I came in on a weekend and I waited 40 minutes for my food. This last time I went in wasn't very crowded and I waited over an hour for my food! I had my little ones with me and they were starving! I told the bus boy that we've been waiting long for our food and he went to tell the owner (I say owner because the few times we've been there I see her interacting with the customers), she looked our way and that was it! We didn't even get an apology or acknowledged!!! Anyway if we do want to eat there I think I'll order in but I can get the same great food somewhere else and not have to wait as long. If it wasn't for their bad service I would've gave this place a 5!

Oh yum! This place not only met my expectations but exceeded them! I came here for their eggs benedict by only looking at the pictures alone, and this is by far the best eggs benedict spot I've tried in the east bay. Not only do they offer just eggs benedict, but they offer seven different versions of the dish! Service was a bit slow, but it was understandable being that it was a Sunday afternoon. Perhaps since this is a fairly new restaurant their servers are still getting adjusted to the joint. Also note, their side of biscuits and gravy was damn good, despite the square brownie shape to the biscuits. And their salads? We didn't order them, but saw some of the orders from the other patrons and they looked huge and damn good too.

Simply put: the best breakfast place in Concord and maybe the East Bay. You go here to eat good food with hearty portions. If you're on a diet, keep going. Tucked in the corner of a strip mall so don't blink. Nice people, great service! Breakfast and lunch only but definite candidate for Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Loyal following of customers too. Friday hint: crab sandwich is awesome!

The place was busy, but we heard good things about this place and decided to wait. Plenty of seating and definitely a family restaurant. Daily specials everyday and they serve lunch and breakfast only. Plenty of breakfast options with strong coffee and fresh squeezed O.J. The only hiccup was that they only had one waitress, and was very busy with a 10 plus party. We arrived right after they sat down, but it was okay since the manager brought a complementary Coffee cake. The order was taken 16 minutes later, but the waitress was very friendly and attentive. I ordered a Florentine Eggs Benedict with Spinach and Canadian Bacon. The entree came with hash styled Country potato's. The juice I ordered wasn't' t fresh squeezed, but I assumed they ran out. I also ordered a Coffee and it was pretty descent. The breakfast came out super quick, and the portions were ginormous. I could barely finish my food, and the server was very attentive to our every need. Other than the 15 minute wait to order, I will give the place 4.5 stars for overall service, cleanliness, food , and atmosphere and will back again for either Breakfast or Lunch.

this place satisfies the need for more/better breakfast options in concord... getting a little tired of nations, don't like stepping foot in places like ihop, and places like mimi's gets expensive. this place is also not what you would expect. starting with everything from the name (found myself looking for orange chicken on the menu), to the location (that shopping center seems like a blackhole for businesses), and even the artwork on the walls (i especially enjoyed the little kids on triceratops painting). but i left here satisfied, and excited to come back again and again to try everything else on the menu. i got the dungeness crab & avocado eggs benedict, and a large fresh squeezed orange juice. the oj was awesome. nothing surprising there. the eggs benny was a little too much for me palate-wise. don't think my insides were prepared since i don't usually eat them, but i had to try given the crab and avocado combo... it also came with hashbrowns which were probably my favorite hashbrowns i've ever had. they were like scalloped potatoes grilled to perfection. i also had a dabble of friends' calamari (big pieces, need to be cooked longer), sweet potato fries (very good). everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. the service was very attentive as well. i would give the food a 4/5, but the overall impression this place left with me was a resounding 5-star. hope to see this place thrive!

This place is normally packed for breakfast. While service is good, you should be prepared to wait a long time for your food once ordered. Not ideal if you are super hungry or have lil ones. Not sure if the kitchen is too small or not enough cooks? If they were faster they'd get 5 stars. Food is good tho.

Fantastic food! This is a great place for breakfast and lunch. I have not had a bad meal. These are experienced restaurant people. They employ quality ingredients and you can taste it in the meals. Of special note is the salads. This would be a $5 salad almost anywhere else. Here, it's just part of the meal. My other fav is the French Dip, but it is only available certain days... and here's why: The meat is cooked special for that sandwich on that day. Sweet potato fries are another option that's uncommon. Try the seafood dishes - another quiet specialty of the house. See you there, soon.

I took my family here this morning after reading the reviews on Yelp. Good selection of eggs benedict on the menu. I would get the California again. This is the first place I would come to for breakfest living in the Concord area. No kids menu FYI.

The service is good. I appreciate that another waitress picked up the slack when the original waitress assigned to us was busy with another customer. It always bugs me when restaurants are super territorial about who serves who and an observant server is helpless to rescue a customer from a poor server. Not to say our original server falls into the bad service category, she was fine, but busy with another customer. If anything it was our fault for sending her away the first time. Portions are good. Had the eggs benedict and sweetie had the french toast. This was a good, solid meal, but I guess old fashioned is not to our taste. The ham on the eggs benedict was flavorful and thick for CB, but the hollandaise sauce was a little heavy-tasted a canned? I usu. ask for extra crispy hashbrowns, but forgot when I ordered. Nevertheless, the homemade scalloped potato hash had a very nice crispy, hard crust so I was very happy with that. Sweetie had the french toast. It's more on the eggy side, which I don't mind. They use the big thick slices of white bread as their base. He thought the bread should be more fancy, but I thought it was keeping with their style of food. The decor is ... odd. They had a renaissance-styled picture of a bf-ing mom titled "Mothering" against a backdrop of egg-yolk yellow walls, but hey, whatever floats your boat. It was definitely memorable.

Great breakfast spot. The menu is pretty amazing and has all sorts of combinations I never would have dreamed, like calamari scrambles. The food is great, I'm a little more traditional and stick with french toast or a benedict. The service is freindly and fast as well.

I would definitely try Min's again and I would recommend it to a friend. The food was very good - fresh and reasonably priced (portions were generous). I had a California Benedict. The bacon was crispy and thick, the sauce was pretty good, but the eggs were slightly overcooked for my taste (I like the yolks runny). The hash browns were crispy on the edges (much more potatoey since they were homemade) & the avocado was pretty fresh, although it was turning a little brown. The location is depressing, but once you are inside, the restaurant is bright, sunny & busy. The service could use a little work - my friend's order was slightly off, and it took several requests to get addl. items like drink refills, but it seemed pretty typical for a breakfast place on a Sunday.

Came here for breakfast after I was recommended by a good friend to try this place.. It's a nice little cozy diner tucked away in the center of Clayton road in a small shopping center. If you weren't looking for it you probably won't see it.. The staff was really helpful and nice and suggested I try the crab eggs benedict, so I did and my friend, she ordered a crab omelet. When the dishes came out the portions were huge and they did not hold off on the crab.. My eggs benedict came toppled with nice portions of crab. My friends omelet was also stuffed with a bunch of crab... The food was good ..I'll will definitely go back... Actually I might even go there right now for breakfast after this review!! lol =]

This continues to be our favorite breakfast place in the east bay. All the servers are great! The owner is there everytime we've gone and she is always very sweet with our kids. The food is fantastic. The atmosphere and service are head and shoulders above any other restaurant in the area. We love Min's!!

So, I have fallen in love when this place. Yes, really. I try going here with my boyfriend at least once a week because it is just that yummy. Long story short, [according to earlier reviews] the owners of Min's Kitchen used to be the owners of Plaza Cafe.; and judging by the style of the food, sounds about right. The biggest differences and why I will choose Min's over Plaza: The prices are a little bit lower [less than $1], it's much bigger, it seems more alive, and they do take credit cards here. I order the same thing everytime, and it's always amazing. 3 egg omlette with chedder cheese and sausage with a side of wheat toast. The boyfriend have fallen in love with the Irish Benidict. Instead of ham [or whatever "normal" meats they might have], this has their corned beef hash. Ah-mazing. Really though. You much try. Oh, and their coffee cake is great too.

Just had breakfast here for the first time. I was impressed with the food; though they had lots of interesting choices, I went with the staples - bacon, eggs and hash browns, and nothing was greasy, even the bacon. Portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. Other Yelpers have reported slow service; but my experience was that while they weren't exceptionally speedy, they weren't particularly slow, either. And I double-checked - they do serve breakfast all day, I think they're open til 3PM.

I will try not to come back here again! The younger male waiter (not the owner) F****** SUCKS! He's screwed my s*** up before. I asked him for tabasco sauce. He never came back. He also never checked up on us to see if everything was ok. It's ok though, as I see it, there are other places around that will gladly take my hard earned cash. So F*** him. As a (former) regular customer, I deserve better service than this. And in case you're wondering...yes, I did take it out of his tip. lol

What a deal! Crab avocado omelet for $11.50 crab avocado benedict for $12.50. Best part is the dungeness crab is good quality. Doesn't have the heavy fishy smell the cheap crab meat has. Solid chunks of crab meat. Excellent hash browns not shredded more like a scallop cut. Nice golden brown and tasty. Fruit cup that came with my nephew's breakfast was nice fruit was really fresh and recently cut. Wish I was in the area more I'd definitely be a regular.

  • Mindi P.

I fear their cooks are too few or too indifferent. Dude has noticed a steady decline in flavor, texture and taste of gravy on chicken fried steak. I have noticed the hash browns aren't fully cooked one more than one occasion. The food went from pretty good, to just ok (meaning I'll still go on days I don't want to dirty up my kitchen) Min's may be just ok, but considering the very few alternatives, it is a regular spot for us on Sunday. You have to time it right or you wait forever. I agree with others about decor... The yellow paint they chose just gives a dirty feel to the place - however, I enjoy the dinosaur with child paintings. I am used to dirty diner cuisine, but they could use a serious de-griming. What to do?? I hope the get it together. In the mean time I'll be going to Diggers more often. Just sucks they're closed on my "diner day". Maybe someone will rent the empty corner spot (was a thrice failed coffee shop) and give us a really good breakfast alternative - Or maybe Min will take to heart the negative reviews and fix the easily managed problems like cleanliness, speed and quality.

Sad to say, cost cutting has damaged the excellent chicken-fried steak we so enjoyed just this past January. The thin-sliced potatoes are now frozen shredded mushiness, and oddly, the cream gravy lacked salt. The steak got a little smaller, and prices have risen. Disappointing, and we won't be back.

We like this place; it has a friendly vibe to it. The food is good, too. The downside is they are slow. It took 45 minutes to get our food last weekend. They also tend to forget things they said they would do; like getting a high chair, getting a doggy box, getting water, etc.

Loved the food at Plaza Cafe in Pleasant Hill until they changed hands. Husband and I were delighted to have found Min's Kitchen!!! Ordered our "usuals" from Plaza and was not disappointed. Portions are still huge and food was still great. This location is much roomier and had a lot more staff working. Husband was glad the fresh OJ was available. He really missed it! LOL! It's great to have our go-to breakfast place back!

Wow. Just wow. They should change the name of the place to Enigma. Let's go through the checklist of things you look for in a quality diner. Food? Meh. Definitely nothing to write home about. Decor? Confusing at best. A hodgepodge of photos of cities and paintings of dinosaur-walking children. Cleanliness? Not very, in fact, I would say more on the dirty side, especially the floor. And now, the service: Ahhh, the service. The waitress was nice, but after she took our order we waited...and waited... and waited... 45 minutes later, still no food on our table, and not so much as a single, "Sorry for the wait folks" from any of the staff. I finally put an end to the nonsense and walked to the register to check the status of our order. "There are 3 more tickets ahead of you." No thanks, I'll pass. I have two kids under 3, and we were more than patient, and I even was willing to overlook the fact that we were ignored for nearly an hour after our order was taken. This was my second and last visit to Min's. But, no worries Min, somehow you've got people knocking down your door to get in the place. I guess I'm missing something. I must be crazy, cuz I just don't see it. Enigma's Kitchen. Enjoy.

I was skeptical about this place as it is in a run down strip mall and not in the best area of Clayton Road. Nonetheless, I thought it was great for what it is: small, hole on the wall, diner. The menu is actually quite robust with many offerings for both breakfast and lunch. I love breakfast burritos and was happy to find that offer about 5 different varieties to choose from. There are also many vegetarian options which is great. The service was very friendly and the portions are definitely generous. If you are looking for a breakfast spot where you can roll out of bed and head to, this is your place.

I saw that it got voted the best breakfast place at claycord.com so I wanted to try it. Great service, fresh tasty food and good coffee. What else do you need in a morning breakfast place? The interior could use some sprucing up though.

I didn't eat here. As you know, this part of Concord doesn't exactly have the greatest selection of restaurants. I was in one of those moods where notheing really sounded ideal. I came here since I saw the great reviews and figured I'd get a grilled cheese or something. So I walk in, and there's no indication that they're going to greet you and escort you to a table. But I needed to look at a menu. I walked on over to the counter, where there was a plethora of servers standing around, looking a bit confused or preoccupied. I expected someone to greet me in some fashion, but it really seemed like I was invisible. I'm hard to miss due to my height and dashing handsomeness. I picked up a menu, noticed it had a bunch of coffee-shop kind of food, and didn't get too excited. Looked like lots of fried fish things, which terrifies me, especially if they cook my stuff in the same oil. Still no acknowledgement that I was there. It was smoky in there too, like they need better ventilation. I'll probably stop in again and see if I feel better about the place.

Love Min's! Great breakfast: highlights are the eggs, hash browns, and waffles. They are friendly and fast. The prices are very reasonable and I appreciate that every time I get the bill. Claycord needs more places like Min's and less Burger Kings.

If you like Breakfast and/or Lunch then you have to try Min's Kitchen. Breakfast is especially good and the Benedicts are to die for. So are the hash browns. Min has put together a great menu and great food.................try it when in the area and you will not be disappointed. Everyone is very friendly and the service is great. Can be a little slow when overly crowded but well worth the time spent. Enjoy your breakfast or lunch from this good old American menu!!!! You will come back.

Min is very friendly as well as the rest of the staff. On Friday's they offer a dungenous crab sandwich that is to die for. I've had just about everything on the menu, and I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed. The corn beef Ruben is my second favorite. And the crab salad sandwich is a close third. I would highly recommend this family run business.

Fabulous! We were in the Concord area today and hadn't eaten breakfast yet. I Yelped breakfast joints in the area wanting to steer clear of the usual Ihop-ish fare. Lo and behold! What a gem! I decided on the crab and avocado omelet. My first question after looking at the $10 price, was "Is this canned?" for that price, it usually is. NOPE! My omelet was BURSTING at the seams with succulent crabby goodness. So much, in fact, that I couldn't even finish. Top that off with fresh squeezed oj, hash browns, and HOUSEMADE biscuits and gravy, and, well, FAT KID heaven! They also had healthier options, but that wasn't on our agenda today. Bottom line: Eat here. Cheap food and deeeelish!

Good food, but the service was pretty bad. I don't go to places like this expecting to get in and out quick, and I really prefer to be left alone. I don't need to be fawned over. I'm pretty easy when it comes to service, but in this case it ruined our morning. We found out after about 45 minutes that they lost our order and had to take it again. In all that time, they didn't check on us, didn't refill our coffee, and we had trouble flagging someone down once we realized we had been abandoned. If they could get the service into gear, this would be one of our regular spots. Please reply to this if they change and let me know, because I'm always looking out for a good breakfast/brunch spot.

I called in an order to go on Sunday @ 8:45 AM & it was ready by 9 AM. I got Denver Omelet, full sausage breakfast & the omelet special. It was $27 for all 3 breakfasts. i was impressed with the fast service on a Sunday morning. My grandparents go here often & they love their food & service. I will definitely be trying the crab Louie next time.

"Good Morning, take a seat anywhere", this is the greeting that everyone receives upon entering Min's Kitchen. I did not see a single person that was not met by a warm hello from the staff. I sat at the counter, and immediately was asked if I wanted anything to drink. The taste of the coffee is what sets the tone for the food to come for me. Coffee was good, not too weak for a diner style restaurant. I ordered the dungeness crab and avocado Benedict. Fresh lump crab, and creamy avocado, on top of a fresh English muffin with their house made hollandaise sauce. This came with hash browns that I barely touched because their portions are so large. Needless to say I was stuffed when I left. My only request for my next trip to Mins would be to ask them to go light on the hollandaise. Although it was very tasty, it was too much for me; it was slathered on the plate. Great friendly neighborhood spot!

Came in on a Sunday morning and had the crab & avocado benedict. Oh man it was awesome! The two eggs just oooozed onto the crab as you sliced into them. I licked my plate clean. This is a seat yourself kind of place. Service was good and parking was plentiful.

Regarding Rachel H's Review on 12/28/11 #1.WRONG!!!! We were THE table where the bus boy accidentally spilled ONE glass of water on the FLOOR not on us! it was an accident and just that an accident. The bus boy immediately went and got paper towels to dry the water and a caution sign was put out immediately. He was embarrassed and we completely understood. You got your story wrong Ms. Rachel. #2. WRONG AGAIN!!!! at the time we were there there it was 8:30 A.M. on that particular weekend, there was ONE server at that time and she was moving fast, she had "it" under control. She was absolutely not standing around talking to "regulars" she was working hard and moving fast. #3 WRONG AGAIN!!! the place was absolutely not freezing cold (where we were sitting) which was one of the tables close to the door. A completely different view of that same morning in the same time frame goes like this; The place was comfortable with typical furnishings. The server was working very hard and keeping up with her work load, still remaining very very nice and genuine, a refreshing difference from some early morning breakfast spots. We ordered and when the drinks came the bus boy delivering them accidentally spilled one water on the tray stategically manuvering the spill away from our table onto the floor, smart guy. it was cleaned up quiclky by the bus boy and the owner. THEN... the owner brought out two, not one, but TWO plates of delicious appitizers for our table on the hose! THAT was unnecessary but very very nice!!! Soon after our food arrived There was no time lag on our FIVE different plates. We were a table of five and we all recieved our food in a timely manner, all the food was hot and delicious, just like home cooking. Incidentally, All of us did see a woman storm out, a friend in tow who was rolling his eyes (and it wasn't at the waitress or the bus boy) neither said a word to anyone. Oh by the way, the food on the abandon table was plenty and looked great. I was tempted to grab it. Mins is a GREAT place to eat. GREAT food GREAT service all in all GREAT value for your buck, ALWAYS consistent with tasty food and excellent service! WE will always go back

Pretty decent food. $5 for chicken nuggets is high, but you do get a lot. Crab melt wasn't so much of a melt, and rueben pretty good. Dont think I'd have a "want" to come here again, like other places that I do.

Awesome, get food, service and pricing. been there 3 times and will be going back soon. Wish they were open for dinner. The breakfast are big and very good, except the hash browns are terrible. Kinda like a cooked clomp of potatoes. Burgers and sandwiches are very good. The Crab Cheddar Cheese Melt sandwich is a must try.

We were looking for a new restaurant to go to for breakfast so I looked on Yelp. This place was rated #1 so I read a few reviews and decided that it was worthwhile to try. As soon as we walked in I knew that we came to the right place. It was bustling with customers. This may be our new go-to place. The fruit cup was sooo sweet and fresh testing. The coffee was first rate. And the people were so friendly. We asked our waitress about the business and she introduced us to the owner Min. She was very engaging as well as the other staff. Our breakfast was very good and hearty. Be sure to try it!

I had really low expectations for this place - it is tucked away in the corner of this shopping center and I thought it had just recently opened after another place went out of business. I was pleasantly surprised! The place has great diner food, good grilled cheese and fries, healthy portions and a relaxed feel. Definitely a great spot for a relaxed family meal - great for kids, too.

Breakfast this morning exceeded expectations. Service was speedy and cheerful - and NOT in one of those "I'm bucking for a good tip" ways; it was genuine. As we were heading in, we asked some ladies coming out what they thought. They both raved about the breakfast. One said that she had eaten the irish eggs benedict and rated the homemade corned beef hash magnificent. My friend ordered the fresh-squeezed orange juice, and upon first sip oooohhed and oh-yeahed. We split a fruit bowl -- a hearty portion for even 2 to share. It was full of kiwi, a variety of seasonal and flavor-packed plums, pineapple and some melon, which I consider to be a filler fruit for fruit salads. Frankly, it was the perfect balance. We ordered the scramble with the apple sausage... more oohhs and yum's from across the table. Instead of the toast, she asked for a tortilla, which was lightly grilled on both sides to heat it and give it the just-right crisp/softness ratio. I order a choose-your-own-stuff style omelet. I LOVED the fact that the bacon inside was crispy. It was a good balance to the soft green chiles. Coffee was "ok" -- but this isn't the type of place I would go for coffee. I would go for the food. And I expect that next time I visit the area, I'll be back. Here were are 3+ hours later... full and *still* talking about how good breakfast was.

We absolutely love Min from way back when she used to waitress over at the Plaza Cafe in P.Hill. Now that she opened her own restaurant way closer to our house we are going there all the time. It is a big clean restaurant with plenty of seating and friendly prompt staff. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced considering the large portions you receive. I mean the salads here are monstrous! so good! Love this place and will keep coming back. The sweet potato fries are amazing!

My gal pal and I decided to check out a new place by her house. We drove deep into concord and found this diner in a little strip mall. We seated ourselves. Soon after the waitress brought over menus and waters. They have so many tempting breakfast options! She ordered the California Eggs Benedict. Think two English muffins with tons of large pieces of bacon, many slices of tomatoes, and poached eggs laid on top and tons of yummy hollandaise sauce! The rest of the plate is piled with yummy home style potatoes! I had the Clayton breakfast which included 3 huge slice of bacon, two pieces of french toast, and two eggs. What a hearty huge delicious breakfast! The servers are pretty nice & attentive. And for both dishes to come out $18! Wowzers...Must be because I traveled deep into concord.

I went here for the second time yesterday. Breakfast both times. I've ordered the crab/avocado Benedict both times, and most likely will do the same next time! I will substitute my hash browns for the fruit bowl per my very nice servers suggestion on my next visit. Not because the hash browns are bad, because they are freaking great. I later saw the fruit bowl going to another table.... WOW. It looked amazing. It looked like Carmen Miranda's hat, seriously. This is my new breakfast spot for sure, I will drive the extra couple miles without fail. Great ob Min!

Visited for breakfast this weekend. It's a little diner type place in the strip mall behind Goodwill on Clayton Rd. It's alot bigger on the inside than it looks. You seat yourself with a choice of counter seats, regular tables and small booths. Of course the one we sit in turns out someone went crazy with the salt and the seats and table were covered in it, didn't realise until we already sat in it. Not the cleanest looking place it's not that it's dirty it just looks old and kind of unkept. The waitresses were quick, friendly and right on top of everything. I had the chorizo breakfast burrito (love me some chorizo!) It was eggs, chorizo, cheese and tomatos scrambled into a good size flour tortilla. Very tasty but it only came with a teaspoon full of salsa, it' needed more and maybe some sour cream or something. The hashbrowns while perfectly crispy had no flavor whatsoever, they tasted like boiled potatos with nothing in them not even salt. I added the teaspoon of salsa and a ton of salt and pepper to them, my husband poured some of his gravy on his for flavor. Hubby had the chicken fried steak, nice huge portions, eggs cooked perfectly over easy, in fact they were almost too pretty to eat. gavy was okay, a little sweet tasting, I think they made it with ham. I perfeer mine a little more peppery. Price is right on the mark we ate for under $20 for two people. Going back next to try the eggs benedict, saw several of those and also the grilled hamburgers go out, that seems to be the specialty there.

Sausage eggs beni was excellent. My husband loved his poached eggs with toast, and the generous side of country potato hash browns were perfectly prepared. We split a whole wheat pancake just to try; it was also wonderful. Prepare to have leftovers; the portions are huge. Nice bright and airy atmosphere, great service, reasonable prices and overall awesome place for breakfast. This truly is a hidden gem tucked away in a funky concord strip mall, but worth the effort to discover.

My husband and I went today for the first time. You can sit where you want. All the booths were taken when we arrived, so we grabbed a table. (There is also a counter area.) It was very busy, but someone came and gave us menus within a couple of minutes. I ordered the crab Benedict and my husband ordered calamari and eggs.Everything was great. The Benedict is less flavorful than some others I have had, but it worked well with the grab. The hash browns, as others have mentioned, are crispy outside and mushy inside almost like fried mash potatoes. I really liked them. My husband said the calamari was very good, golden brown and not too much batter. The eggs he ordered over easy, and they were actually cooked well (which is unusual for over easy eggs.) He has diabetes, so he ordered the cottage cheese and tomatoes on the side which was nice that it was offered. Because the place was so busy, getting coffee refills was difficult, but the food came within 15 minute of ordering.

Food is great. Service can be a bit slow. My friend is picky about cornbeef hash and theirs is homemade and won his approval.

We are regulars, although less now that we've moved farther away. But we (2 adults + 2 young kids + various guests) have sampled the following: - Breakfast Burritos (good size, comes with hash browns) - Hash browns (they smash up the potato before frying. super crispy on the outside, and kind of like mashed potatoes on the inside. Very little salt. A negative for some people, but I don't mind because then I get to doctor it up myself.) - Coffee Cake (awesome. from scratch. hot butter on top!!) - Breakfast sandwich (good. nothing special.) - 2 and 3 egg combos (solid. my kids like the apple sausage, which they slice in half lengthwise before grilling) - Chocolate chip pancakes (2 per order, you can also just order 1. thin and soft. good for the kids) - coffee (typical diner coffee) - clam chowder (meh. do not recommend) - hamburger (meh, nothing special) - fruit cup (great presentation and lots of fruit) - french toast (too eggy for my husband's taste) - sweet potato fries (average) I'm definitely partial to getting breakfast here, which I think is served all day. Now on to service and ambiance, which, I think, is their biggest draw: - Min: She is the owner, a petite Korean lady. She's there ALL the time, working her butt off. Today my MIL was unhappy with a partially overcooked pancake, so I had them get her a new one. Before we left, Min came over and personally apologized for the pancake (which was just on the darker side - most people wouldn't have complained). She also always stops to chat when we've come by in the past. - Servers: On the weekend, I believe a lot of Min's relatives/kids?/friends work the tables. On the weekdays, we mostly see 2 waitresses in particular, who we love! One of them has memorized my daughter's order. They almost always have a smile (I say almost because it can get hella busy in there), and most importantly, are always attentive, especially the tall blond. - Crowd: Very diverse. I love that a first gen Korean lady opened an American diner that draws people of all color, ages, religion, and backgrounds. That says something, doesn't it?

Best breakfast in concord area. Dungee crab Benedict is to die for! Seat yourself, gets super crowded on weekends.

Brought the family in here early one Saturday morning. Was bummed there wasn't any menu for the kids. Had them share a regular menu item. Food was just okay - lots of it, but just alright. Service was good - we had 2 or 3 different wait staff. The place wasn't the cleanest either. Get a kids menu and clean up the floor and walls around the tables and it's a decent place for breakfast.

I'm the biggest fan of Breakfast, toast, eggs, coffee and OJ. This diner itself is rather clean. It's a modern diner that has fresh squeezed OJ & bar stools. The waitress was very sweet & attentive and the food is great! I had the Canadian bacon spinach egg's benedict and it was splendid. They are big portions; and come with hash browns. Remember Genghis Khan? It's now Min's Kitchen & it's worth trying.

Hubby and I just moved from Pleasant Hill to Concord and wanted to find a new breakfast place. Min's definitely stays on the list. He actually found it on Yelp before we hopped in the car. I decided that I had to review it as soon as I ordered a large orange juice and was asked, "Fresh squeezed or Minute Maid?" I was taken aback. The food could have been crappy and I would have given it 3 stars just because I got a choice for orange juice. I am one of those weirdo's that does not like fresh squeezed orange juice. I find it too sweet so I was very happy to have the Minute Maid. I ordered the Florentine scramble with biscuit and a side of coffee cake. Coffee cake was awesome and HOT. Slathered with melted butter. Just like Millie's Kitchen in Lafayette makes it and that has always been my favorite. Scramble was delicious though a tad too heavy on the onions for my taste. Biscuit was HUGE and equally yummy. Will return again!

I think that this little sneakily hidden hole in the wall opens up into the land of really good breakfast food, and it has some personality. It could have more personality but for a little neighborhood diner/cafe kinda place it has good food at a decent price.

We went to Min's expecting some sort of Asian options but as it turns out, this restaurant serves straight American diner breakfast and burgers. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Yummm. The place is super clean unlike most places in Concord. Min is the waitress and is very friendly. She had a restaurant in Pleasant Hill which they had sold a couple of years ago. The coffee is good. The eggs benedict was rich and poached eggs were nicely done (not runny or lopsided). Please give Min's a try even though they don't serve rice. When you go, please ask Min to serve rice so that more Hawaii people can get a decent breakfast in Concord.

The genuine friendly customer service was awesome and their food was delicious with good portions too! Its definitely a family friendly environment that I will go to again and again! I highly recommend you to check it out, its a nice diner in the weirdest, unnoticeable area. = p

Nice and clean with fast and friendly service. They have diner style seating by the kitchen, regular tables and chairs in the middle, and booths on the right. A big flat screen in the back playing espn. The food is good and they give large portions. It's like Denny's and IHOP but way better. The servers are fast and friendly. Definitely coming back.

We've been to Min's Kitchen three times now. Each time service has been outstanding and the food very good. They make everything from scratch and even more difficult things like hollondaise sauce come out great. A+ for quality and consistency. Generous portons and really nice people too. We'll be back.

I read in another review that this is a good breakfast place that Concord lacks. Well, I feel bad for you Concord because if this is good then I hate to see what other breakfast places are like. We went here because we had to drop off our car for service and wanted to grab some breakfast in the area. I looked this place up on Yelp and it came up as the highly rated for breakfast. Maybe I'm biased because we have great places for breakfast in Benicia because this place sucked. We walked in with the 2 kids in tow (3 and 1) and it was a seat yourself. We took the table towards the back so we wouldn't have the kids so close to the other patrons. We actually sat at a table next to someone who looke like he could be the owner since he had their shirt on but he was on his laptop. He greeted us and helped us get a highchair but that's it. A girl passed by and said she would be right with us and then went and took orders for people before us. It would've been nice if she would at least drop off some menus so that we would be ready the next time she came around. Or at least that guy on the laptop since he got up to get a highchair. Or even the other woman that sat at the table with him later and ate. But no, we waited to get a menu. When we finally got one I was HIGHLY disappointed that there wasn't a kid's menu. When the waitress came back to take our order, I asked if they had a kid's menu and she said no but she pointed out the cheapest/smallest meal on the menu or suggested we order them as sides. Our little 3 year old's food was going to be almost as much as ours with almost the same amount of food. Then she said she'll give us more time to decide so we had to wait until she came back again. Finally we ordered and received our food in an average amount of time. We had no utensils so my husband got up and got some instead of waiting more. The food was just okay. I don't like their hashbrowns since the potatoes weren't grated into strips but rather thinly sliced. They crisped up on the outside but it was very mushy inside. The chicken- fried steak wasn't the best and the gravy was too ample and sweet. My over easy eggs were more over medium. Maybe I should've tried the crab benedict like everyone else was raving about on Yelp. Since the food was just okay, only the service could've saved them but it didn't. Waiting on menus, no kid's menu, getting our own utensils...minus points, minus points, minus points. I faced the whole restaurant where I sat and I realized that girl is the only one waiting tables. Not that the place was extremely swamped but still. That guy on the computer or that other woman could've helped out just to keep the customers happy. Nope, instead the one girl was left to wait on all of us. As a result there was no one to bus all the tables and we had to wait for EVERYTHING. Not my idea of a good breakfast place by far! At least they gave my son a little treat when we left.

My BF woke up yesterday and wanted pancakes. We've been to a couple breakfast joints in the area but weren't too thrilled with them so I got on Yelp and found Min's. It definitely lived up to the previous reviews. My BF got the Claytons Special and I had the shrimp and avocado egg benedict. We didn't clean our plates but that's only because the portions were so big. We were so full we both had to take a nap when we got home! Our meals were delicious and we will be coming back soon to try something new.

Had brunch there today and I loved the cheery yellow walls. I got the chocolate chip pancakes which were huge and delicious. The pancakes seemed to have a warm, light coffee flavor. I also got the sweet potato fries which were nice and crispy. My husband order beef chili soup which he liked and the fish n chips which came with a big side salad full of eggs, beets, olives, lettuce and tomato. The fish had a good dipping sauce too, more of a yellow Tartar sauce. All In all it's a nice neighborhood spot....good prices...huge portions....attentive service. Oh and hey they have fresh OJ!

We came here for a late breakfast and the place was semi busy. The food is okay but the service was pretty bad for my first time being here. No one greeted us at the door with no signs to tell us that this place was self-seating. After we found our seats we had to wait about 30 minutes until a waiter came by with menus. After figuring out we wanted we ordered eggs Benedict with a side of toast and a hotlink and Jose's omlette with sliced tomatoes and toast. We were so excited to eat because we were super hungry & yelp had a pretty good review of this place. But tell me why we waited 45 minutes until we got our food. Good thing I was with good company to keep my mind off my hungry tummy. Fifteen minutes pass by and the waitress comes by with another table's order. The waitress almost dropped the french toast on me and causally laughed it off. Another fifteen minutes rolls by and our waitress comes by saying our ticket order was lost and that our meals are being rushed. Not to be upset, we say ok, but very irritated. My omlette was okay. I felt like it was something that I could've easily made. And the Benedict was average. Our waitress never came by to check on us, we had to call her over. They need to improve their system so orders do not "lost". I don't think I'll ever come back here again.

My son turned me on to this place, love it! The decor is a little funky, but if you want great food with good prices this is the place. Servers are nice. Love the eggs Benedict, the fruit bowl is fantastic! Fresh and abundant. We keep coming back and that's a always a good sign!

Crab and avocado eggs benedict is wonderful! They used real crab meat and provided large chunks. The english muffins were perfectly toasted and the sauce was great (next time I will ask for sauce on side, but that is just my own personal preference and my fault for not remembering to ask for on the side). The coffee was good, service was very friendly and prompt and I will definitely be returning!

My favorite breakfast spot in Concord. All the traditional breakfast grub is great, but my favorite is the Crab and Avacado Benedict. Good coffee, good service. Good, solid breakfast joint. I'm glad to have it near home.

It's one of the few places that serve Eggs Benedict... not just one way but several ways.. It's now my "go to" place for this. Other items on the menu are also fantastic.. but their eggs benedict is special.

Went to Min's for lunch yesterday, 11/09/10. Seated ourselves, waited 15 min. before waitress came and gave us menus. Didn't bring any water, waited 10 minutes for her to bring our cokes, we both ordered salads, which should of been a fast order, right?, no cooking. Wrong!!, we waited 25 minutes and no salads only to see other people who came in after us were given their food. So, we left. Will not return. I work just down the block and was on my lunch hour. Looks like alot of the people in there were older so maybe no where to go but when you are on a lunch hour and almost an hour has gone by and no food, see ya later, no thanks. There are better places to eat in the area. We ended up at Parma Deli which is across the parking lot and had a great sandwich.

I went here for my first time last week. I ordered an omelet with bacon, avocado, cheese, and spinach. It was amazing! The eggs are fresh and I also ordered a side of fresh fruit. It was a huge fruit bowl with all sorts of freshly cut fruit. I highly recommend this place. The owner Min is also very nice and the staff are great as well!

I'm always at this place. And I'm finally writing a review. Good food and friendly service. The owners are very nice. I try to order something different every time we go to Min's but when they said they had eggs benedict everyday, I just ordered eggs benedict for awhile. I had all of them except for the classic. They put a lot of hollandaise sauce! I love lots of sauce on everything. I like their hashbrowns. I like Min's signature hamburger. It's not greasy or heavy. Their chicken fried steak is good. Their french dip is really good. I believe those are on Tuesdays only. The fish and chips are good. If they have that white board up when you enter, it has the specials on it. I would order from that, because they prepare it for that day. The side salad is awesome. It's fresh and has lots of different things in it. It's not your typical side salad. Get the side salad with your order. And we always get the sweet potato fries, instead of the regular potato fries. I can munch on those all day. Talking about the food there is making me hungry now....

So I went to this place last Sunday for breakfast at the urging of my out of town friend in for the weekend. I'm new to the area and didn't know where exactly to try as I wanted to go somewhere I hadn't yet been. So my friend Yelped, and offered this place. I was a little nervous as I knew the area and it wouldn't be my first choice (not a bad area, just not WC). After some urging, I agreed and had the best breakfast I think I have ever had (and that is SAYING something)!! Try the fresh squeezed orange juice, and go for the large - it's $3.50, in a LARGE glass ~ and to die for! I had a Jose scramble with a tortilla side - made it into a burrito & HEAVEN! The hash browns are yummy too - brown and golden just the way they should be. The server was delightful and sincere, offering suggestions (not in an up-selling the tab kind of way) that made our breakfast even yummier! Today I went back, had the same thing; just had to check to see if last time was a fluke... It was superb! I got sweet potato fries as a side this time... to die for! Yep, fresh squeezed OJ still fantastic as well!! For two visits, I give it my highest ranking. You gotta try this place when you are in the area!

I love it when breakfast places refill my coffee cup without having to ask. I don't think I ever had more than two or three sips, and my mug was refilled. Eggs and bacon were good, and the french toast was very fluffy! I will be back again.

The whole family went for a late weekend breakfast on a Saturday and really enjoyed our meal. The portions are pretty crazy large and the prices were fair. The service was average and our waitress did make an error with the order but corrected it with no questions asked but it did delay the order so we didn't get to eat all together. I usually would complain if food is over or under seasoned but I was happy that the hollandaise sauce and potatoes were slightly under salted leaving it to me to add the salt to taste. Very good place with lots of menu choices. I will be back soon.

I love Min's Kitchen! The staff is friendly, the large portioned meals taste wonderful, and there are many vegetarian options. The restaurant has a sweet, homey feel and I love that there's a shelf on the wall for patrons' mugs so whenever I come back, I can drink coffee out of my very own mug!

DH and I have enjoyed Saturday breakfast at Min's Kitchen twice in the past month or so. MK is tucked away in the corner of a small, nondescript shopping center on Clayton Road. The owners have freshened up the decor of the previous restaurant, but it still looks like a "make over." Food is much tastier than that of most local chains. MK breakfasts taste home-cooked! Generous portions, varied menu, decent coffee, overall good value. I particularly liked the hash browns. My only disappointment was the biscuit that I ordered on my first visit. While "king size," it was cake-like in texture. Biscuits should be biscuits -- not cake. Will pass on the biscuits in the future. Overall MK is a welcome addition to the Concord breakfast scene. We'll be back.

We went to this place this morning after seeing all the great reviews. The food was good, not spectacular (pancakes were a bit burned). Worst, we waited about 45 minutes for our food. Our waitress was great, but the 2 girls helping behind the counter were seemingly clueless. After getting up twice to ask for my coffeecake (my kids were starving and they said they could get this right away for us), the one behind the counter girl came wandering out not knowing where it went, I had to flag her down, and then she handed me a burning hot plate with no warning. The food was not good enough to merit a trip back.

By far the best breakfast / lunch restaurant around. I live in Pleasant Hill and do not mind driving to Min's. They have a huge selection of different food on the menu and the owner is one of the nicest people I have met. Must try Min's if you haven't already.

Min's is an awesome and welcome addition to the neighborhood!!! (to the entire area, for that matter!) Always friendly service, excellent food, be it breakfast or lunch, and an overall comfortable place to hang out, read the paper or catch a game on one of their big screens. Two thumbs up!!! Definitely recommend the Eggs Benedict(s)!!!

Hubby and I went for lunch today based on the rave reviews from some family members and it did NOT disappoint! Had the "Friday only" Dungeoness Crab Melt special - it was delicious and I chose the salad instead of fries. Hubby got the Patty Melt w/Sweet Potato Fries - all the food was great! The salad I chose as my side was the most beautiful side salad I've ever seen at a restaurant - it was huge and had all sorts of yummy stuff on it. Only one server, who was busy but attentive, but if they keep going like they are, she may need some help! We will MOST definitely be back to try their breakfast. Welcome to the neighborhood, Min's, we're glad you're here!!

OMG!! Eggs Benedicts are amazing! If you like your benedict with a slightly lemon aftertaste and full stomach of happiness GO TO THIS PLACE. I would never have known it existed if one of my friends hadn't told me about the place. Definitely worth hunting down if you're craving some foodie type "greasy spoon" healthy breakfast. Still drooling when I think about it.

Went to Mins for the first time today. We had been to the place that was there before, which wasn't bad but wasn't great either. Well, glad to reports that Min has stepped it up a notch. They service was fast and courteous. The food was tasty and plenty. A lunch time salad was surprisingly nice. The menu was basic but had LOTS of variety. And the price..very reasonable. Give it a try...Think you'll be pleasantly surprised. We'll be back

4.5 stars??!! i decided to check it out. come on..almost 5 stars.. why not? i arrived and immediately remember the place when it was a PHO joint..best broth in the business, actually..to bad it went away. anyways, my breakfast experience: the service was great. nice to see a pretty waitress so early in the morning. (anytime, actually :)) i went with the basics..eggs, hashbrowns..biscuit. wife went fully committed with some omelet. coffee never went below half cup. they were ON IT! the food was very "vanilla". hashbrowns, were plain. crispy bits, mixed in with mushy bits. some salt, ketchup and tabasco will make any order of hashbrowns acceptable, and there was no diff here. eggs, came out perfect. the issue was with the omelet. it was the chorizo variety. the filing was plentiful, and the cheese was over bearing. omelet making is a skill, this was regular skills. now to the biscuits..a great biscuit is a constant battle between flaky and tender..in this biscuit the battle was won already..and "tender" obviously kicked some flaky ass. this was a biscuit that looked and felt like CAKE! it was all tender..flaky was sent packing. it tasted pretty good, but wasnt really a biscuit..sorry, i'm from the south. will i go back?.probably..but this was a strong 3-star breakfast joint..not a 4.5.. next time, i'll try the coffee cake. see if they can unthrone millies.
