Fat Jack’s Clovis Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

This place has really good burgers and fries. I've visited this place once and will probably never return due to them only accepting cash. The owner must not have the business sense to know that providing a way to accept ATM/Credit and paying the small transaction fee would be a wise investment considering people like me would visit his restaurant more often. It's 2009.

Honestly don't know why they don't branch out! I lived out in Lemoore & I'd religiously go to Fresno just for this spot. It's so different w/their 50's inspired joint, but you will not be disappointed. I'd put my $$ on them moreso than In & Out. I'm originally from SoCal so it's hard to be the good old In & Out franchise. I love how their shakes are originally from Carnation ice cream & taste like it (let's face it, most places use that Nesquik stuff in milkshakes). Their fries are awesome & have a twist to them too.

The milkshake and the fries were very good, the mozzarella sticks and the burger were slightly better than awful.

If you come here and order something other than the burger and complain about the food, you're doing it wrong. It's all about the burgers and fries at Fat Jack's. I patronize them as frequently as possible (harder now that I don't live in Fresno any longer) and have since the days they had the sister location on Blackstone 20 years ago. My usual Saturday night thing was getting the combo with cheese after work. I was devastated when the location closed, but a few years later I luckily was living near the Clovis shop. I could resurrect my Saturday tradition. I now live in the Bay Area and only get back to Fresno 2 to 3 times a year but every trip finds me back at Fat Jack's for lunch. I've probably visited the Shaw location 30 times and it's heart-warming that the consistency of the food has not changed one bit since I first started eating here. The shoestring fries have always been cooked properly and seasoned well. They come out hot and perfect. It's hard to share them and easy to hoard. The burger has crispy edges and is well balanced in flavor with the other ingredients- there's nothing too much on the burger to upset the flavor. There's also nothing exotic or unusual about it; one would say there's nothing unique, but I say that the burger and fries are just executed so well they don't need to be reinvented. Just a classic burger in a charming setting based on an old '50s diner/drive-in. Service is always friendly and fast, even though I come so infrequently that I never recognize the servers from trip to trip since they're mostly college-aged girls and are probably onto other things by my next trip. Highly recommended whether you're a local or just passing through. (Also, because I get tired of reading this kind of crap on other reviews, don't go 5 minutes before a place closes and expect exceptional service or product. They've been working all day and are tired and want to go home, and they may not even have the best quality product left at that hour. You are being incredibly self-absorbed and arrogant if you roll into a place at 8:58 and they close at 9 and expect the moon. Get over yourself.)

One of my favorite burger joints in town. The exterior is more appealing than the interior. I hear countless rumors about the place being dirty But I just ignore them. Although I feel totally unhealthy eating there it's just sooooOOOoo good. The strawberry lemonade stuff is the best. And the burgers are so yummy. And they give you enough fries to last a life time.

Food and shakes are pretty good. I havent had a burger from this place in years but just recent i bought fries and a strawberry banana milkshake. It was exactly what i wanted and tasted better than i remembered. Their mozzarella sticks are the best I've ever had. Only reason why I gave 3 stars is because I do think their decor could be updated a bit. Still keep the same theme obviously but it's a little dirty looking in there. Also, some of the waitresses shorts are way too short in my opinion. The last thing I want to see while eating is someone's butt. Keep it classy and professional ladies!!

I really don't know why it has taken me 25 years to try this place. I've lived here all of my life, and they have been around for 25 years. It's sad that I've missed out on all the glorious deliciousness that is Fat Jacks. Now that I know, though. I will be a frequent customer. First off, this place is small. You can eat in your car, since they do have car-hop service. However, during the summer, this can get a little hot. They do have about 10-15 tables on the inside of the restaurant. Unfortunately (for us-definitely not for them) the day we decided to try it, it was packed. They do have four tables outside the back of the restaurant, on a "patio" type place (which is basically just the parking lot) with umbrellas and chairs. It's where we chose to sit. Even though it was outside, the tables were clean. That was nice. The waitress came to us a few minutes after sitting outside. The menu has a nice selection of burgers, chicken sandwiches, and hot dogs. My husband and I both chose to get the basic burger, mine with everything (lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, and special sauce.) Hubbys was just meat, cheese and pickles. We shared a large fry between us, and it was plenty. We probably could have split the order between three or four people and still had enough. Two burgers, large fry and two small drinks came to $15 and change. The burgers were excellent. This is definitely in my top 5 if not top 3 favorite burger joints now. The meat was juicy, the bun soft (but not falling apart soft) and the veggies were crispy. The fries were seasoned, and oh so delicious. They do charge for to-go containers (I think it was like 15c or something) so we made sure to finish everything there. It wasn't that hard, and no we aren't THAT cheap.. I would highly recommend Fat Jacks to anyone who enjoys a delicious burger. Might try going on an off peak time (we were there a little after noon on a Saturday) so more seating is available, but really, it doesn't matter. I'd sit on the curb or the sidewalk if it meant I was enjoying this burger.

Went in for a school project and decided to try the banana split. Best decision ever! It was huge and the ice cream was so good! It took four of us to eat it and we still had leftovers afterwards. The atmosphere was great, I liked the whole diner feel that went along with it.

After driving past Fat Jack's for 6 years, we finally decided to stop, and based on these reviews were expecting pretty good things...not so much O.o We should have just kept going down to Wendy's, the service would have been better as well as the prices lol My burger wasn't even as good as a McDonald's burger, and my husband's steak sandwich had no flavor...I've NEVER seen him have to put salt on a sandwich just to be able to taste it O.o The fries, while good and LOTS, weren't any better than McD's, in fact, I'd go there anytime for fries over this place. We ordered the "Frito Boat" as an appetizer, and were disappointed. I'm pretty sure they weren't even REAL Fritos, but a knock off generic brand. The chili wasn't too bad, but it needed quite a bit more seasoning. The chopped onions were good, though lol While the atmosphere WAS cute--who doesn't like 50's stuff???--that in itself wouldn't be enough to go back for. I'm glad we tried it, so we don't have to wonder anymore...now we just drive by and joke about it. It's too bad, really, cuz it appears to be a Clovis Icon. oh, well

Love the fifties music and look. When I walked in, I was told to seat myself and given a menu. The staff take your cash/card right after you order and brings change/it back with the drink. I got the Fat Jack Cheeseburger; the bun was nicely toasted, it was nice-sized, the veggies were fresh (crunchy onions), and the thousand island sauce was good. The fries are like Dog House: shoestring fries with seasoning, but they don't drown their fries in the seasoning here. Flavored Cokes are like Sonic, and you order in sizes (12, 20, or 32 oz.), no refills. So "Think It Over" and try it.

I haven't been here in almost 10 years. I remember coming through for the grilled cheese sandwiches while listening to my mother's stories about working for the Fat Jack's that used to be on Blackstone. The grilled cheese sandwich was on point and I was pleased to see they serve a garden burger for us vegetarians. It's getting harder to find good places like this, don't pass it up.

I'm on the fence Chili tasted "OK" but not as flavorful as say.....Wendy's or Wienerschnitzel Prompt service and nice to deal with

Me and my uncle James come here a couple times a month for lunch. We always get the same thing, FJ bacon burger and share a small fry. He gets a chocolate coke cause hes a fatty and needs even more sugar in his sugar water, I get water cause im watching my figure. Waitresses are nice and do their job well. You cant beat a nice sized bacon burger with tons of fresh veggies and an onion ring to boot for $5.50.

I have come here consistently over the years, and I still say this is as good as it gets. Delicious burgers, perfectly crisp and seasoned fries, drinks made to order. Drive up service where a switch of your headlights brings out a young waitress, who is just about as friendly as you can ask for. Everything glows pink from the neon lights and the 50's decor, and I love it! The prices are damn reasonable too. My boyfriend and I actually left a burger place we were going to eat at because we balked at the price, and knew where we would rather go anyway. This is one place that for me, feels like coming home. Tip your waitress!

Traveling during the holidays it seems ive had a lot of Chinese food lately as that seems to be what's reliably open. I wanted to change it up and previously failed on both the grilled cheese and bbq places (which were closed), and finally ended up here. 50s style drive up which you just dont see anymore. Got a bbq, bacon, onion ring burger with cheese and pickles plus a side of small fries. Burger had a good flavor profile (homage to the Carls Jr Western Bacon) though the patty was thin and a bit overcooked. The fries however were awesome. They were perfectly crisp and have this spice salt they use making them super savory. All that for about $10US is a solid price performance value. Not to mention theyre quick and efficient in both front and back of house.

Good food they want to come off as a 50s era spot when the waitress came to take my order she asked if I was paying cash for my food and then swiped my card before I was done ordering and never came back to ask me if I was ready to order the rest of my food kind of puts a bad taste in your mouth so much for 50s service but the food is great not sure if you got drinks in styrofoam cups in the 50s still good food

  • Daniel S.

I was told a lot about this place by my wife. And honesty, it delivers! The food was very great as well as the service and the prices! The theme presentation of the place could have been better though. The pictures and 50's style decor are a good start, but the cardboard cutouts seem a bit cheap. It's a small place though, so I understand. And the fact that there's only one Fat Jack's establishment all the way out in Fresno is a bit of a downer. But it's a road trip worth taking for their great burgers! If you happen to live anywhere near or traveling through Fresno, that is. Definitely looking forward to going back there again :)

I hope you like soggy bread... And too much bread to meat ratio... Sausage sandwich was terrible. Hot and soggy lettuce, very poor tomatoes and runny hot mayo on top of sausage ... Had to take it all off... Still couldn't eat the sandwich.

Just left Fat Jacks a few hours ago. ..very disappointed in the changes. The bun is smaller, less meat, and the signature hamburger dressing has been replaced with simple mayo. We have been going to Fat Jacks since their first day at Blackstone Avenue. Some very sad changes for such an iconic burger.

  • Dino P.

The burger was great! I ordered the 2 patty 1/3lb with everything on it and was not dissapointed. The bun was soft, the meat was well cooked and the cheese was appropriately gooey. The fries were nice and salty (just like they should be) and I topped it all off with a lemon coke. I also got a good look at the vanilla milkshake that my GF's brother choked down and it looked thick and tasty! I'd definitely eat here again next time I am in Fresno.

Never disappoints, a basic burger, seasoned fries & great flavored drinks & shakes! Always the kids favorite plus cool 50's nostalgia with car hops.

Delicious drive-in faire, I had corn dog and small fries which was a huge helping of fries. Everything was piping hot and you ordered at the table and was served by polite waitresses. Highly Recommend!!!

While this isn't exactly the type of diner that I'm looking for, it's close enough. The '50s theme adds a fun and interesting personality to this place, everything from the wall art to the paintings hanging. Fat Jack's has decent seating -- maybe a handful or so spots at the counter and at most 15 tables; no booths. Fat Jack's Super Double 1/2lb Burger ($6.49): THIS is how a double patty burger should be. I have to agree with Matt P. on that the patties are comparable to Carl's Jr. in thickness. The burger itself is really two 1/4lb burger patties, two slices of cheese, their special sauce (tastes like Thousand Island), and the typical fixings (lettuce, tomato, pickles, and (red) onions) sandwiched between two soft sesame buns. You could add bacon for $1.25, guacamole for $0.50, a slice of cheese for $0.50, ranch for $0.25, pastrami for $2.00, BBQ sauce for $0.25, and jalapeños for $0.25 more. It's a fairly big burger -- it's juicy, flavorful, and fresh. Large Basket of Fries: The fries here are similar to the size of McDonald's fries but crispier and doused with a generous amount of salt. Seriously, these were the saltiest fries I've ever had, but for some reason, I couldn't stop eating them. They're dusted with a reddish powder -- maybe paprika or cayenne? Keep in mind that outside of the Fat Jack's Combo, fries (or whatever side you want) are separate! One person could certainly finish a large basket, but if you ask me, I'd rather share. Service was prompt and food came out within 15 minutes of ordering. The waitresses were nice; no complaints at all. NOTE: You pay for your meal after you receive your drinks -- Fat Jack's accepts cash and card. If I get a chance, I'd come back for another burger or try either their patty melt or pastrami. The shakes here are pretty popular, too -- I might stop by for one another day.

Our family decided to try something different than In-N-Out or The Habit and we were pleasantly satisfied. I had the Fat Jack Combo which came with fries. The burger was on the large size and I think what makes this burger great is the freshness of the ingredients from the bun to the red onions. As another reviewer stated the fries were thin and crunchy, much better than the limp fries you get at some places and the seasoning made the fries pop with flavor in your mouth (I did not even think about dipping them in ketchup). My son and wife both had the bacon cheeseburger which came with barbecue sauce as well as all the fixins. They thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Our whole meal consisted of burgers, a side of fries, a side of onion rings, 2 chocolate shakes and three waters. I thought it strange that they would charge 15 cents each for the waters but maybe that was for the Styrofoam cup that the water came in. All in all the total came to just under $35 for the 3 of us which is not bad as we ordered everything except dessert if you don't count the shakes as dessert. We would definitely come back.

These hamburgers are Huge and very tasty. Just how I like it. Cute 50's atomosphere and music. It's never too busy here. But it is really small!

  • Shane R.

got the bacon cheeseburger. average burger. bacon was either not fresh or overcooked. it was like jerky. average condiments. bbq sauce made it a little unique. i think this place has appeal more for its throwback theme than for its food.

Oh boy...very bad experience for me...came in at 9 pm and they were cleaning up..felt they were kinda rushing us out. Food was terrible...ordered hot pastrami sandwich...pastrami was not fully cooked n very salty and greasy...my sandwich was soaked in grease..they should have drained the pastrami more. Fries were good but overseasoned..very salty....my wife's 1/4 lb burger qas also very greasy... Server cleaning outside did not wash her hands and walked in to deliver an order....will not be returning again...too bad as this was my first experience here.

The cheeseburger I had here, has to be the best one I've had EVER! The fries had a slight seasoning which was good but the amount of fries was unreal. I plan to eat here every time I'm in town.

I absolutely love this place. I've been eating fat jacks since i was a kid! This place is near my job so i try to sneak here as much as possible. I love the fries and black cherry milk shake. What's the best part you ask?? You don't have to leave your car! Yep they come right to your window! Great burgers, perfectly seasoned fries and a cool delicious shake with your favorite music in the background. ..... Yes I'm lazy don't judge me lol

My wife and I went here and had a great time. It's a small little place with a simple menu but for a moment we felt like we had stepped back in time. We are both vegetarian and they have a really good veggie burger. They give you a ton of fries which were really good ( although a little salty). So, 2 burgers and fries and a chocolate milk shake for $19. Not a bad little place.

I can't say enough about this place. The decor alone is stunning. The waitstaff are friendly and extremely efficient. The menu is expansive, the prices are modest, the portions are large, and the food is absolutely spectacular. I highly recommend it to EVERYONE.

  • Ashley E.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. The 50's diner feel, the AMAZING cherry coke. Their burgers are just the right size, not an overwhelming heart attack but more than enough to fill you up, and their fries are really good! Similar to Doghouse, but I would say better. My friend had a French dip and she was in love with it. I always stick with their burgers. Never done me wrong. Only thing I would change is for them to be open longer! lol

Right Accross the street from the Holiday Inn Express, feeling lazy, we wondered over. Classic 50's style diner. Bright, friendly atmosphere decorated to the period. Burgers were quick and service was good. Tried the Fat Jacks Combo with everything... Why not! They serve at the car if you're feeling really lazy. Saw some giant ice cream thing served at another table, but resisted. Side of onion rings was a good call. Prices were very fair, but it was strange to have to pay the bill before they brought the food. Doesn't speak well for Clovis (dine and ditch capitol of the valley?).

Whack Jacks is more like it. Wanted to try it for years finally did today and my curiosity is most certainly cured. First impression was that its hot and a little crusty inside but whatever will try it anyway. Waitress took our order asap we had to ask for water. She asked how we were paying and took off with my card for 7 minutes to charge me before we got our food l....she clearly wasn't anticipating a tip by this move which I assume was the reason for the attitude. She charged us for water and we never got a refill. Got our food....same ol burger you can get anywhere else nothing special. I asked for ranch she said its 25 cents....i said ok well you already charged me so what good is that...my husband went and got me some from the girls up front and I paid for some kraft ranch b.s. that turned my stomach. Who doesnt have homemade ranch!? Ill never ever ever go back. Ill stick to good times cafe when I get a burger hankering. Anyone who charges you first thing like a friggin McDonald's is just sketchy anyway. If I get random charges at Claire's ill be heading back....

This is, by far, my favorite place to eat when I'm in town. I only eat one thing there which is the pastrami sandwich and I am so hooked I can't think of anything that I want more. They also have the BEST chocolate milkshake!!!!!

Solid hamburger. This place is a Clovis staple, been here forever it seems, although I unfortunately rarely eat here, maybe once every 3 years for some reason. However, I do plan to eat here more often because of this recent visit. The size of the patties don't gravitate towards trying to be big, but more of an average size (same thickness as a Carl's Jr. normal patty but wider and maybe just a tad bigger). I like the flavor of the meat....it seems they go more for the simple purist approach, meaning the meat tastes like meat, but fresh -- thats it. This is not a bad thing, especially when it seems like a lot of burger places nowaday seem to forget this, that a burger patty should just taste like a burger patty, but fresh, and doesn't need to be heavily seasoned. The fries are decent, nothing special, but Fat Jack's true strength is definitely the simple, but satisfying burgers. I've been here several times throughout a 10 year span and the taste hasn't changed, which is a true testament. The restaurant itself has little seating, is old, little dirty, and plastered with Elvis memorabilia and other reminders from that era -- which I'm not into, as naturally everyone from my generation probably couldn't give a fuck less about, BUT it adds to the charm of this place -- so who cares. Bottomline... I hate knowing that I'm going to say the phrase i'm about to say, but it's very appropriate here: Fat Jack's is just 'old fashioned goodness.'

  • Brad C.

Definitely in my top five burger places. Burgers are fantastic and a small order of fries is enough for me and my wife. Love the old-school cherry coke too. Service is usually prompt and courteous. Place is quaint, nothing fancy. Great burgers at reasonable prices will keep me coming back.

The man and I decided last night to catch an early dinner and then head to the movies. We decided on Fat Jack's because it was on the way, we'd been curious about this joint for some time, and we were intrigued by the yellow pick-up we always see parked there. So we get seated, and the high-school aged waitress brings us water. "K.A.R., I didn't notice a Visa/MasterCard sticker on the door. Did you bring cash?" the man asks. "Heck no," I reply. "Everybody accepts plastic these days. Don't worry about it." Well, it turns out I was wrong. Fat Jack's is a cash-only business. Disaster was averted, however, by their prices. The man got a hamburger, I got a grilled cheese sandwich, and we split an order of fries and drank water. The bill came to seven bucks and change, and $10, which we scrounged by raiding the change holder in the car, covered that plus the tip. Ok, you're not going to get gourmet grub here, but there are few places anywhere where two people can walk out full on $10. But don't plan on going with a big group, unless you're all driving and plan on using the bell hop service. I don't think more than 20 people could comfortably be seated inside.

I found this place through a friend on Facebook, so I decided while I was in town to give it a try. My first impression of pulling up was a fond memory of while growing up in the early 70's while visiting Grandma and the local burger joint drive-in. The place is very clean but not too perfect. It was a warm afternoon but the A/C was on comfortable, not so cold I needed a jacket while it was almost 100 outside. I loved the fact I could stay in y car flash the headlights and they would deliver my order to eat in the car. Since I was meeting a friend I hadn't seen in a while I chose to eat int he dining room. I ordered the double bacon cheese burger, no onions extra pickles, my son ordered the Italian sausage sandwich, we shared an order of regular fries, more than enough for two. My buddy from the area ordered a cheese burger and soda. The burger is very flavorful, lots of juice flowing from the patties, not ketchup and mayo like that chain's commercial. My son said the Italian sausage was cooked just right and had great flavor, the fixings on the sandwich added to the experience but did not detract from the sausage. The total for the three of us with drinks and tax was just under 25 bucks, very reasonable all things considered. The wait staff is very friendly, greeted us when we walked in, took our drink order first, they refilled our drinks, made sure we were comfortable, made sure the food was prepared correctly, and acknowledged us and thanked us for visiting. I will definately go back when I get to the area again next year.

Today was my first time here at Fat Jack's and after my meal, I walked out fat, happy, and as a new fan. I'm definitely willing to go all the way to Clovis just to eat here again and again. However, next time, I'll come with a bigger appetite. They have a carhop service so you can stay in your car to eat or grab a table inside. It wasn't busy during our visit so it was comfortable in the small space they had. I think my review on this place is a little biased, though, because I LOVE oldies music and that's what they were playing through their jukebox. It made my visit so much more pleasing. Their menu had the usual diner items like burgers, chicken sandwiches, onion rings, and plenty of other choices to choose from. The burger I ordered was big and satisfying along with a fair amount of seasoned fries that I couldn't even finish. That combo cost me about $5, but the quantity they serve will get you your money's worth. I also had a taste of their chicken strips that were also very good. I regret not trying their milkshakes, but I will next time! I just ordered a large cherry flavored sprite from their choices of flavored sodas. No complaints about the service, clean diner, delicious food, overall great experience, and will hopefully be back soon (:

A good old school burger place. The patty melt was really good. Onion rings and chili cheese fries added well to the meal. At first the pay before you eat was a little weird but the food was well worth it.

Fat jacks is really good, but be sure to bring cash bc last time I was there they didn't take cards! The cherry coke is delicious, coke with real grenadine! Burgers are great and sauce is perfection!

Yummy, writing this review makes me want to drive out there just for a burger! Their burgers are big and yummy! I like their fries too! They even have strawberry lemonade with the strawberries in it! I like this place better than Johnny Rockets! (Do they have a Johnny Rockets in Fresno?)

The fact that this is one of the few places left in existence where you can still get the authentic 50's carhop experience and the fact that they have some of the best food ever has made this place a local favorite.

Cruisin' down Shaw you don't find the same "richness" you might get on Blackstone, but... Fat Jack's was a winner. I followed my "gotta-have-it" vibe from driving by this place. Rarely would I ever order the Bacon-Cheeseburger, as it's just way to fatty, even though I love the bacon for breakfast. The dark-haired version of Taylor Swift convinced me soon enough with, "Oh, this burger will definitely SATISFY you". Your innocent small-town-girl-like charm would pretty much convince me to buy anything.... Moving on! How are the shakes? "Uh-mazing! You should get the chocolate shake with banana, it's only 50 cents more..." Sold. She didn't lie. Not only was the shake solidly satisfying (i got banana chunks), the burger was a monster. The BBQ sauce all over my face & fingers and a burger half falling apart made me feel like a real big man. Cue the Ex-governator: "I'LL BE BACK."

The food is always decent but the owner is just a cranky old man that is just plain rude to people! We will go there occasionally if by request of friends but honestly my dealings with him have just put a sour taste on this establishment. My son even says "That is the place the mean man owns"

Full disclosure, I haven't been here in 20 years (well, it was on Blackstone...) But, it's the one thing I miss most about living in Fresno. The burgers were soooo awesome, and I haven't eaten one that comes close since moving away.

Food was outstanding. My family and I had burgers, fries and one side of onion rings, and we couldn't finish it all. I have met the owner Jack and he is a great person and very comical. I would recommend to everyone to enjoy as a family or by yourself.

This is my go to place for burgers and fries. Several new options have come to town like The Habit(also very good) and others but this is still my favorite. It's consistantly tasty, friendly, quick and low cost. Simple 50's decor with great service. I almost always get the Fat Jack combo, burger and fries. It ALWAYS hits the spot. Burgers are for two hands. They have a great grilled taste even through the lettuce, tomato, onion and sauce. Cheese is melted just right. MMmmm... My favorite are the fries. I hate wimpy, soggy, bland, undercooked fries. So many burger places make cruddy fries. WHY? No excuse for that. These fries are thin and are dusted with seasoned salt and fried to PERFECTION! Every Time! Their drink menu is straight out of the 50's with shakes and cherry Cokes. The whole meal is great and very satisfying. Parking is great and you can get it served in the car. I may go again today!

Having been in the Air Force for 30 years and loving burgers, I have eaten at dozens of famous burger places around America, like Kencad's in Fort Worth or chains like What a Burger, Krystal and In and Out.... Fat Jacks is my favorite. Try the Fat Jacks Burger with cheese, Fries and a shake. Onion lovers will want to try it with the onions. I've eaten there dozens of times and never been disapointed. The grandkids love the grilled cheese. Great service with a friendly thank you as you walk out. It's a busness that acts like a busines should. You won't go wrong.

Fantastic burgers. Great cherry coke. They grill their buns too which adds a certain somethin. Fries would be great with just a little less seasoning. Very salty. Great burger though. They DO take cards.

Good comfort food. Pricy. They even charged extra for to-go packaging, which I found to be very tacky. How many times can the ring in ".15" on a ticket without feeling weird. They also had a misc. charge because apparently one item was worth an extra buck. Anyhow, they need to clean this operation up. Menu is far too confusing for a burger joint. Do I order from my car, the window, the inside window, the inside tables? Nobody there really knew. Good luck.

I love fat jack's! My mother and I have been coming here for years. Fat jack's is one of the best burger joints you could ever go to!

After watching Grease, my girlfriend and I wanted to have some dinner at a 50s burger joint and Johnny Rockets had been closed for awhile. Needless to say, we were bummed. However, we wanted a burger with a shake so bad that we were willing to take a mini-road trip just for the 50s atmosphere. Luckily a friend of ours intervened and saved us from wasting a whole evening of driving. Fat Jack's is a really cool place. You can either drive up to the place and order from your car, or you can sit in the restaurant. With posters of Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley everywhere along with the black-and-white linoleum floor, the folks here really tried to make it feel like the good old days, even adding bubblegum pink walls. The food is traditional American diner cuisine, with the option of changing up some items. Add in the cheap prices, and you can't go wrong with this place. I'll be coming back here again and again.

Fries were too salty. Service was slow. I think the 50's flare is annoying now. Cool car shows though....

I have been coming here with my mom since I was little! It has always been good! I love their fries and the burgers are so good! Old fashion! And I just love the environment, and the whole sitting in the car was an all time favorite when I was little! This place has awesome energy. I now live in south Sacramento and I'm seriously craving something even remotely close to fat jacks, which is impossible! I guess a trip to Clovis is in my near future!

Anyone who lives in Clovis knows this place is awesome. Cheap but delicious food, the fries are very unique and unbelievably delicious. Everyone needs to try this place at least once, you'll know why when you do. Chicken sandwich or a bacon burger with a shake are my personal favorites.

We love this place, it has the old 50's diner feel with oldies music always playing. You can eat inside, on the patio, or the girls will come out and serve you car-side, and they are always friendly. I love the milkshakes, my grandma loves the soda pop, and we all love the burgers and fries. The cheese steak sandwich is really yummy too, and all the ice cream varieties are delicious.

I stopped in here for a quick bite after a busy day. I had never been here, but it looked like a cool enough place so decided to try it out. I wasnt totally blown away but I was not completely dissapointed either. They ask pretty reasonable prices for pretty well prepared food. I will definetely come back here another time. Their service was quick and friendly, which did not hurt after a long day of running errands. The restaurant is one of those 50s themed burger joints so the ambiance is nice, i guess. Oh and you can also place your order while in your car, in the parking lot, and have the meal brought out to you, thats pretty old school, and you dont see it often, so thats pretty cool too

I had the French Dip. It was very delicious. We also had great service and were greeted by a young gal named Maddy (i) who, smiled a lot and was a terrific server. We will go back again in hopes of getting the same pleasant, waitress.

Definitely the place to go if you're in the Clovis area and want some unapologetic American food. The inside area is small, as it always seems to be when you're talking about a restaurant that sells good food, and there's a very pervasive 50's vibe going on. Aside from the fact that I'm pretty sure they now take credit cards, this place has not changed a bit over the years. The hamburgers are simple but very good. The fries and milkshakes are even better, with the fries being extremely hot and covered in seasoned salt and the milkshakes thick and creamy. If nothing else, stop here for some fries and a milkshake. The only reason I'm not 50 pounds overweight is because I don't live close enough to be in there every day. The waitresses do their jobs well and care more than I would if I were in their position. I've never seen a male waiter in there, ever, nor have I seen a female that appears to be older than 25. Kind of strange, but if you like to flirt with the help then this is your place. I guess the quality of the food becomes secondary at that point.

We discovered Fat Jack's when they were on Blackstone in the late 1980's and have been fans since. The menu has plenty of options if you want to mix it up, but I have been ordering a Fat Jack Combo with a Diet Cherry Coke for 25 years. Why mess with perfection? Burgers are juicy, flavorful, and messy...and worth every calorie. Fries are delicious and there are enough to easily share between 2+ people. Over the years, we have watched Jack and his wife, Marianne, interact with employees...and it is obvious that employees respect them and enjoy their jobs. Fat Jack's, THANK YOU for your dedication and commitment to good food, fun decor, and excellence.

I think when you go into a place like Jack's you kind know what you are in for, I mean come on, you didn't come here to eat light or on the day you start your new diet. You hope for the best and in my opinion, Jack's delivers that old school vibe, food and feel. The shakes are amazing! Yes, I'll be back, but I'll ride my bike cause you know, I just started my new diet!

The food was good but the young waitress was more interested in flirting with a customer outside than refilling my water.

I like how it really does feel like you're in the 50's. The fries come in HUGE batches. So if you're going with someone, I recommend for only one of you guys to get the fries, since one batch is enough for, like, 3 people. lol The fries are good and the burgers are good. It's not AMAZING, but it's good. I do feel that they are kind of over priced though. And they serve you're drinks in Styrofoam cups. Be expected to feel like you just gained 5 lbs when you leave that place. The food feels real heavy. =) Btw, they only accept cash here. =)

I'm going to start out by saying that this review is simply based on their chicken entrees and fries. The food is okay by most standards, not at all extraordinary, but I like the fact that the food is served in large portions. If you're coming here for take-out, keep in mind that they charge 15 cents per to-go container; I know it's not much, but it feels like their nickel and diming customers.

Very solid burger/sandwich place, with a heavy 50's theme and carhop thing going on (like Sonic, except this place did it first.) Wins points for being cheaper than Colorado Grill, but the fries aren't as good as theirs (I love steak fries.) Anyway, I'd say the food is on par with Dog House Grill (I don't think they have a tri-tip sandwich, though) except cheaper and waaay faster and easier to get in and out.

It's a classic restaurant. Their hamburgers is pretty good and it's very interesting to have a seasoning on fries. Always see yellow car parking front of Fat Jacks.

Just found out I can still appreciate the classic atmosphere and service.. Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley portrait hung inside all along the main dining, how can u not like it?! U don't have to get out of your car, if u pull up just flash your headlight.. Someone will come out and take your order, when it's done they will bring it out to your car with a tray that clings on to the car door/window.. I've only had the burger here(fat jack burger).. I think it's really fat and juicy, my kids wanted bacon on theirs and they loved it... My only problem is the amount of fries they give u, if I knew, all four of us could of just shared instead of wasting.. Anyways, this isn't my first time.. It just happens to be one of those places I visit once in a blue moon.. Never have I gotten bad or rude service here.. Burgers take a while to cook but I don't mind if made fresh to order.. Other than that they are efficient.. Note: sauce is almost similar to a Big Mac.. I ain't complaining tho nor my kids... Compared to Colorado burger- it's a tie, I like both in different ways..

I've been here a couple times with my sister for lunch. Great lil dinner. U can order from ur car in the parking lot or eat inside. The food comes in huge portions. Enough to share if your not that hungry. Chili fries are delicious. Great service. Cozy feel

Amazing! Had the chili size and was able to get chili on my fries. They tasted great and the burger had a nice char to it. I just wish I didn't pay for my meal before it came out so I could get a refill. But that's only because we went before closing. The service was great for being busy right before closing. Totally coming back.
