We came here for lunch during the soft opening (only open 11 to 3) and we were pretty impressed. The system for food still needs to be worked out, but that's understandable. That's why it's just a soft opening. It's pretty cool that you can watch your sandwich being made too. Everyone is SUPER friendly and very helpful. The beer selection is pretty amazing (bottles and taps). I sense that this place is going to be quite popular and a big hit in downtown Campbell. I'm not a huge fan of the outdoor seating since they are only couches and there are no tables to eat your food (how are you supposed to eat your mac n cheese without a table???). Overall, this place is tasty; it's a little expensive for what you actually get ($10 for a turkey sandwich is a little much), but maybe that's to offset using mostly local ingredients. It's a splurge, but it sure is tasty. We ordered: - Roasted turkey sandwich - The cranberry sauce is what makes this sandwich awesome. - Torta - Pure deliciousness. - Mac n Cheese - Simple and tasty. Anyway, I would suggest you get in the door before it gets all popular and try it for yourself.

the unkosher was awesome! thinly sliced pastrami reminded me of the new york style pastrami sandwich! was delicious andcant wait to go back to other ones.

Gave them another try after some time away and they really have dialed in their sandwiches for both veg and non veg. Delicious and hearty eats. Love the grilled cheese for kids too.

Bomb sandwiches, great beer(&wine I dunno?), but it was the outstanding service that earned them the full 5 stars. If you like large, delicious sandwiches, this is your place. Only thing is a lil pricey.

  • Allison R.

I like that they had more beers than sandwiches. I should have read better, because the bacon thousand island kind of burned my mouth in a weird way. Also, I'm really sad I didnt order any of the sides. Ps. When someone from out of state asks what is local and on tap, I'm meaning brewed as close as possible.

This place has the one of the best turkey sandwiches I have ever tasted. A bit on the pricey side but worth every penny. I will definitely be back.

Holy om nom nom-ness!!! I work right around the corner from this place and that is turning into a giant problem. Their sandwiches are AMAZING! And not to mention the amazing selection of beer that they have! So derrrricious!

This is homemade Yummy. The sandwiches are a little pricy, but the quality is good.

Love this place. It's like you never want to make a sandwich - well just because it sounds so boing (snore), and usually tastes the same. Now SPREAD is anything but that!!!! Their creations are fabulous (even if you see an ingredient on a which you would not normally (like or eat), just try it - really I have not had a thing I don't like, and like I said "I don't eat sandwiches" haha. PBLT is my fav.

Delicious, loaded sandwiches and a respectable beer selection. Outdoor seating is a plus, but they will need some heaters at winter.

Went in at 4:30 on Sunday to discover the 'kitchen' closed even though the restaurant is open until 5:00. The server was very clear we are closed unless you were already here and ordered at 4:00. Too bad cuz the food is good and the service and clarity of closing time is a disappointment!

Food is great and the beer selection is great. All the employees are friendly. And Adam is the coolest mf'er

This place is awesome, the sandwich was as good as the deli's back East. I will be a repeat customer.... :))

The sandwiches are great. Bottles are way overpriced though but then again your in Campbell and rent much be crazy!

I tried Spread for the first time last week and was not disappointed! The place has a cool vibe with high top tables and a cool front patio area. The service was excellent and the sandwiches, Mac and cheese were awesome! They also have an amazing selection of craft beers. The prices are slightly higher than your typical deli, but you get what you pay for, right? Check out Spread!

Fantastic sandwiches! This is a really neat concept - high end sandwiches and beer.

  • Nathan R.

First when I arrived they mentioned that they were out of Turkey. So I ended up getting their pastrami sandwich. I have to admit it was the best pastrami I've had in a long time. That being said, you shouldn't run out of turkey at 11:30 in the morning, and second for a sandwich shop the prices are ridiculous. $12 for a sandwich? It was good, so I'm willing to pay a bit more, but that is way too much, especially when it doesn't come with a side. I suggest you drop the prices by 20% and/or include a free side. To be honest, I'd love to come back if the prices were more reasonable, so if you are looking for a high quality sandwich and are willing to pay for it, this is a good spot. They have a nice selection of beer and wine, which are also overpriced.

I really, really wanted to like Spread. It's a neighborhood place with creative-sounding sandwiches and an artisan vibe. Unfortunately, the sandwiches just weren't that tasty and the prices are unjustifiably high. My wife and I ate at Spread for the first time today; I ordered "The Torta" ($10) and she had "The Ono" ($12). The sandwiches come with nothing on the side -- not even a pickle. Both sandwiches came on a soft, white roll that was a major letdown. It has no flavor and texture, like something Subway might serve. The pork in each sandwich was tasty, and plentiful enough, but still the sandwiches fell flat. The Torta was supposed to come with chipotle spread, but it completely lacked any pizazz. The Ono was a little spicier, and the bok choy was a nice addition, but the taste experience reminded me of eating a deconstructed potsticker on tasteless bread. I'd just rather eat a good potsticker. Unfortunately, there are too many great sandwiches within a reasonable distance, at much better price points, to warrant a return visit.

My sister and I stopped by based on a yelp review. This place exceeded my expectations. Love the atmosphere...young and hip, great neighborhood feel and it's got a winerator come on!!! The only reason why I gave it 4 stars was because this was my first visit. We split the Gandolfini...holy cow was that good. Will definitely be back again and again.

If you are any where near downtown campbell and looking for an easy, casual, delicious meal accompanied by great wine and beer, GO HERE! My boyfriend and I always indulge in a meat/cheese plate. Do not pass up on the Mac n cheese! We love to finish the meal by splitting the Duchess, an incredible sandwich!! This place is a great addition to campbell, hope it does well!

  • Mike R.

Great place - wonderful staff. Sandwiches are fantastic and the beer selection is awesome. Wife and I had a light dinner outside with the fabulous torta sandwich and a variety of draft beers. The mac and cheese is also fantastic. We didn't buy any, but their bottle selection looks awesome as well. We'll be back!

    (4)
  • Steve S.

Made the mistake of coming here on a Sunday afternoon. Took them 40 minutes to make two sandwiches and saw them serve people who ordered after me. Sandwiches are good but beware of the wait and the high prices.

    (1)
  • Mike S.

This place has really good mac and cheese. Love the great beer selection. Wish it has more seating inside but the place is small. Had the Humpy Dumpty egg salad sandwich and it wasnt bad. I will be coming again soon

    (5)
  • Russ T.

Yes, you're gonna pay $9-$12 for a sandwich. But, you're sitting outside in Downtown Campbell, they have 200 beers to choose from and I had the best sandwich of my life. First visit, had the Duchess. Turkey and pastrami, just so moist and delicious. Also have great looking meat and cheese boards to go with the beers. Hey, in NYC you'll pay a lot more for a pastrami sandwich. Spread may not pile the meat ludicrously high, but these sandwiches are big league and just as tasty as any you'll find.

    (5)
  • eva B.

I love the sandwiches, love the beers, cool spot! The service is just so frustrating slow!! They really need to hire some additional cashiers/bust boys/girls. Waiting 10 min to purchase a beer when the line is only 3 deep seems a bit ridiculous

    (3)
  • Jeff H.

Went to lunch at this place today...didn't know what to expect. Was awesome. Went with two other people and between the three of us, I was able to try three of the sandwiches. I had the Torta (pulled pork)...was incredibly delicious. One of my friends had the Bologna sandwich and it was awesome, but the best was the reuben...called the Unkosher. Crazy delicious. Also had the mac and cheese which was very good and worth more than the 4 bucks they charge. Nicely done Spread. Love the decor and while I didn't partake, the beer selection was ridiculous. The staff was extremely helpful and very personable. I'll be back for sure, but next time I'm sure the lines will be out the door...

    (5)
  • Pam A.

Got the Duchess sandwich and even though the flavor was good, it was clear that it had been heated in a microwave. For an $11 sandwich (w/no chips), you'd think I'd get something more than reheated food. Not a good value.

    (3)
  • Derek Y.

Awesome addition to the neighborhood. The sandwiches were awesome and the beer selection is amazing. I have I read the other reviews in why it's 40% off the bottled beer if you get it to go. My only complaint is that it's a little on the expensive side. Good atmosphere in there with good air conditioning and so great that they have outdoor seating. We need more of that out here!

    (4)
  • Kaveh B.

Yummy sandwiches and sides with a good unique selection of draft and bottle beers. The service was friendly and prompt. The deli has some outside seating which allowed us to enjoy the weather and people. It was a little on the pricey side considering they were just sandwiches with no sides at 10-13 dollars a pop. I'll be back and hopefully they can be consistent with the quality of their food.

    (4)
  • CT B.

I was hoping to be wowed after reading some of the other Yelp reviews about this place. Unfortunately this did not happen. The food was good but way overpriced. I don't mind paying a little extra if the food is great but found nothing really stood out. I ordered the torta sandwich along with a side of mac and cheese. The pork in the sandwich was salty and the mac and cheese a bit too cheesy and rich. I won't be heading back there in a hurry anytime soon.

    (3)
  • Ron G.

I went into Spread the other day to get that amazing turkey sandwich, and it is off the menu. If you don't eat red meat, or even just want something lighter, the only options left to you are eggs or hummus. No thanks. The beer selection is still first rate, there just isn't anything I can eat with it. I can't tell you how disappointed I am.

My boyfriend and I just tried the new deli in downtown Campbell this weekend. It's called Spread and it was delicious. In addition to massive sandwiches, they also serve up craft beers, cheeses, meats and wine. It was really reasonably priced and you don't need to make reservations. We went on Saturday night and it was great because they had a live musician playing outside in between the deli and the gelato place that's next to it. Everyone from the cashier to the bartender were super friendly. I highly recommend giving this place a whirl. I believe it's owned by the same people who started Liquid Bread (which I'm also a fan of) just down the street.

  • M D.

I love this place! I have tried their unkosher, the bologna, and the ono. All AMAZING! Their selection of draft and bottled craft beer is outstanding. There is nothing better than a yummy sammie washed down with a delicious beer! Plus their staff is the friendliest around! This place is a must try!

  • Krystl J.

Negative experience. First off - they carry gluten free beer but there isn't a single entree on the menu that is allergen friendly. I find it queer that there isn't a salad on the menu. The gluten free beers and meads are marked up twice what they cost at whole foods with 40% off to-go. I will not come here to pay 10% extra when I cannot order food. My boyfriend got a custom sandwich and side of mac and cheese. The cashier seemed obviously high and said he had "hoped my order would be more simple". If you don't want people creating their own items don't elect to advertise a "create your own" sandwich on the menu. I ordered a cold cuts board. The quality of the meat was amazing but I wasn't satisfied since I couldn't eat the crostini so I would prefer to eat somewhere else (my fault for coming here, I know). Anyways, $40 for a sandwich, charcuterie plate, Small Mac n cheese and two pops with a condescending attitude. Won't be coming back.

Spread adds bacon and/or Sriracha to nearly every item on the menu. This was fun to eat once, but I don't plan on returning. Overuse of trendy items masks what would otherwise be a high quality, well thought out menu. If you're curious about how the food tastes: cook up some bacon, squirt a little Sriracha on there, and you've just tasted 90% of the menu. Saltyspicymeatflavor really drowns the other ingredients. Spread has really good pastrami that is being overshadowed by cheap pork - this is really sad to me. I challenge Spread to deconstruct its menu a bit. For example: have a classic pastrami sandwich in addition to your bacon infused Russian dressing shenanigans. People who appreciate comfort food and people with dietary restrictions will love you for it!

  • Sunny T.

Although the wait for an order was way too long, (I waited 30 min for mine) their sandwiches are quite excellent. The Duchess is my default sandwich here

  • Darrell M.

I came here on the recommendation of my brother. First off, they have an awesome beer selection. Both bottles, and on draft. They also offer 40% off if you purchase a six pack of their beer (mix and match). The sandwiches here are the BOMB. We ordered the Dutchess and it was one of the best hot sandwiches I have ever had. The ingredients are fresh, the staff is friendly, and one thing I really like is that they cook your meat and cheese separately from the bread, so the bread does not end up chewy like at Subway and other places. I am going here again for dinner soon. Probably now, actually.

My son and I went in for Lunch and had a couple of sandwiches to share. We ordered the Unkosher and the Grilled Cheese. Figured we could split them, just to save some money. First, the Unkosher was great! No real complaints. As a Reuben lover, there are a few things I would have done a little different. A little less meat, a little more kraut, and a little better quality rye bread. The Russian spread was spot on! The Grilled cheese on the other hand was just perfect! The sodas were excellent, if not a bit pricey. I would be great to have a less expensive soda option. Total ticket for two sandwiches and two sodas was almost $30, OUCH!

  • Priscilla O.

The Ono is my favorite sandwich here! The pork is tender with fatty pieces spread through the sandwich. It's sweet from a pineapple garlic spread, yet slightly spicy from sriracha. The fried bok choy adds a nice sweetness and crunch to the sandwich. The bread is light and fluffy. I usually get a side of mac n cheese to share with the bf. One to myself is a little too much along side a sandwich. (: They also have a huge assortment of beers. Grab a sandwich and take a stroll around downtown campbell after your meal. :)

This place is so yummy! Cool little place in downtown Campbell to get an amazing sandwich and a drink. They have a huge selection of beers, on tap and in bottle. And also some decent wines. You can also buy beers to go! Great location, and they also have reverse happy hour, which is cool. Staff is awesome and always so friendly. We'll definitely be back!

  • Nate B.

I love Spread - it's my #1 go-to place for a great sandwich and really good beer in Campbell. The staff is really helpful when it comes to offering suggestions for beers in bottle or on tap. I think the ONLY gripe I can think of... sometimes the music inside is REALLY loud and sometimes the music outside is too low and PLEASE STOP PLAYING BAD 80's music.... I don't know if you're doing it ironically or not but it's AWFUL. This has NOTHING to do with the AMAZING quality of food and drinks here... but atmosphere makes up a decent 30-40% of a great place. :) My favorite sandwich: ** The Duchess My favorite beer: ** Blackberry Beer in Bottle (Dog Ate My Homework) beeradvocate.com/beer/pr…

A short walk from our house for bomb sandwiches! Good selections of fridge brews and a lot of local beverages on tap. I would recommend the Duchess sandwhich

This is one of my favorite places in Campbell.. It's within walking distance of my house and I love to bring my dog here to eat with me on the outside patio! The staff is very friendly and chill. The food is delicious!! I LOVE Macaroni and Cheese Monday's!! Oh yea, and who DOESN't LOVE a great beer selection.. I'm hungry now after writing this review! *Don't forget to leave a nice tip!

  • Rebecca Z.

This is our favorite sandwich place. The Duchess is crazy good.. a mix of perfect roasted pastrami and turkey with this insane sauce even the sprouts taste good and I hate sprouts. They have a great beer selection including some great organic beers and one of my favorite Spanish beers Estrella Damm Inedit ( which they have been out of my last few visits ; ( The sides- Macaroni and cheese by far the best side they had "had" on our last visit they took that off the menu and the potato salad is off the menu- Bring them back!

  • Pete Z.

What a pleasant surprise. The exterior of this small deli is relatively unassuming, although the bright blue cushions provide a pop of color. The hidden gems of this place are its beer collection - both bottled and draught - and its delightful take on the humble deli sandwich. Our BLT was the best I've tasted, with the maple-glazed bacon providing a nice sweet eager to the typical BLT. And the Asian pears added a nice character to the house-made Kimchi. We've bookmarked this spot for a return visit.

I try not to bring up other restaurants/competition in my reviews but honestly SUBWAY is better then spread! Me, my wife and her sister came here on 4th of July for lunch, and not one person was satisfied. The Mac and sheesh side is decent, but some cheddar cheese might help add some flavor. I had the turkey bacon on sourdough with the black garlic aioli.... I don't know what it was exactly but it wasn't very good. I might go back to try their torta sandwich but other than that I was very disappointed especially since it's downtown Campbell. Looks like they are big on beer there so maybe the goal is to get people drunk enough to enjoy their food. Honestly their are too many sandwich spots in CA to have an average sandwich.

  • Jen W.

This place is tiny, but easy to find parking in the back of the building at the garage. We found a table for 3. I had a "MIXED BOARD", which had two different types of meat, two types of cheeses, an olive spread, a roasted tomato spread, a jam spread, crunchy mustard, and some great really crispy bread pieces. It was almost $20, but I was very pleased with that I got. I also tried the my friend's Mac n Cheese, and it was VERY, Very good. If you like a BIG sandwich you will love it here. If you like beer; They have a LOT on tap and in bottles. They had a 40% off on bottled beer (only if you left with it) but they had Lambic, Mead, and others too! I definitely want to come back to this place. I suggest it to anyone who likes a relaxed place, but a FUN place. -J

  • Mike J.

I absolutely love this place. They have an amazing beer selection as well as great food. The staff is always helpful and willing to steer you in the right direction. They just added more beer taps which allows us to have that many more options. if you want to support local business, this is the place.

For a second week in a row, I find myself in downtown Campbell dining with my niece for lunch. She wants to take me to Spread. I had the Duchess sandwich and she had the Unkosher. I also had the Mac N Cheese and a beer. The sandwiches are large and excellent, very tasty. With a name like "Spread" they shouldn't skimp on the spread and they didn't. Plenty of good quality meat in the sandwich. The Mac N Cheese was a huge surprise. I've sampled Mac N Cheeses all over trying to find one I like (and will learn to copy). So far, only one has excited me (Roaring Fork in Scottsdale, AZ) with many disappointments along the way. This MnC was outstanding. Creamy, yes, but most importantly flavorful. Too often MnC's are a gooy, unctuous mess without any depth of flavor. This was addicting, my taste buds yearning for more as I scrapped the pan clean of every little cheese. Lastly, another plus is a real nice short selection of craft brews. Why 5 stars, why not 4? All the food was addicting. After getting stuffed, I started planning my next visit. My only complaint, for a very casual sandwich and brew place, the price is strong -- running $40 for 2 sandwiches, 1 side, and and 1 beer (+ tax, no tip).

  • Nick G.

Firstly let me start with the positives. My BLT and my colleagues Wheedwhacker were outstanding, I can honestly say the best sandwich I'd ever had. The bread and the produce were both fresh and delicious. The staff behind the counter were friendly and efficient. Service and food a clear contender for a 4 or 5 star. I have to bring them down to a 3 star for the price. 2 sandwiches and 2 bottles of water were $30! I don't expect a top notch sandwich for the price of a $5 footlong, but this IMHO was over the top. $20-$22 and I'd have been stoked

Good beer selection and nice staff. Will try the food next time!

Awesome Sandwich spot.. You get like may-be 10 sandwich to choose from and plus build your own (Which is awesome if you don't like any of the sandwich that you see on there menu. Will have to come back and try another sandwich next time when I'm in town other then that "Till next t time my food lover, till next time."

  • Parasto S.

The sandwiches here are the best in downtown campbell. I'm a huge sandwich person so this is big. I've had the weedwacker with bacon AND turkey, mouth watering I tell you. Then I had the Duchess (separate occasions LOL) and that was delicious. Delicious doesn't even do it justice. It was one of the best sandwiches I've had and I've had my fair share, trust me. I will be frequenting this place because its quality food with amazing flavors. Everything is super fresh, the beer selection is impressive. They have TVs if you fancy dining there, I usually take it to go and smother myself with the sandwich in privacy.

  • Samuel B.

How can you charge so much for a sandwich? Do they put gold in their sandwich? I was tempted to eat here but said no way when I looked at the menu. Many sandwiches are over $10. Really? There is no way you can justify a sandwich costing that much in the area. I guess the owners have really high rent and pass that onto customers.

    (2)
  • Ali T.

Great sandwich place here in downtown campbell. They have a good selection of local and domestic beers. My fav here is the Duchess. You can also build your own sandwich or salad.

Best Grilled Cheese in Campbell. Also the only grilled Cheese in Campbell.

  • Nicole W.

Rating: 3.5 Cool spot. Fresh and really unique sandwiches. Some so crazy that I was afraid to try. Ended up with the unkosher and the Ono. Tasty but everything was a bit spicy. Nice beer selection.

    (3)
  • Thuy P.

Came here expecting to get the Ono, but they had this new sandwich, The Pho'Sho.... a Vietnamese spiced top sirion, mung bean, basil, red onion, caramelized onion sauce, topped with siracha sandwich. I grew up on pho. So, honestly, I wasn't expecting much. Sounded like a decent sandwich. I took a bit. Blew my mind. It tastes like pho, like real deep flavored good pho in a sandwich. Like they captured the essence of pho in this sandwich. I am amazed. I'm coming back just for this. I hope they keep it. Oh their beer selection is awesome too and chesse plate!

  • Alexander S.

Most Delicious/expensive sandwiches ever! great sandwiches and selection of beer, however you can find sandwiches just as delicious & filling other places for half the price. Hence 4 stars!

    (4)
  • Bryan M.

Ordered the dutchess and it was alright. All the items are way overpriced and gimmicky but not bad. But I think their focus is on the beer. Food seemed like their second priority. Went in on a weekday for lunch and from the time we ordered there was a quite a long wait. Maybe our expectations were too high? Again, it wasn't bad just there are many better places around at a better price. Probably won't go back.

This place has BOMB sandwiches and great beer. Unfortunately its a little pricey but I'll keep going back occasionally. If it were cheaper I'd go back more frequently however.

You should never put a price tag on magic... ...And Spread is truly a magical place. With a beer selection to rival a hoptometrist's dreams (that's what they call people who make beer, right?) Sandwiches that make you feel the same as when you wake up early for work, realize its Saturday and do a backflip back info bed. A staff that's super nice, funny and all sorts of cool. But most importantly, that makes a phenomenally good sando! The unkosher is my (and apparently everyone's) favorite but you really can't go wrong. They ain't cheap, but everything is made in house so it's more than worth it for the freshness and quality. Spread...you complete me.

Tom and Theo, my sandwich counterparts, you guys must try this place! I started my new thing of eating healthy during the week; no meat consumption and minimal carbs intake however, Saturday I allow 1 dessert and 1 reward meal. After a bike ride and a run, I figured it was time to cash in on my reward. A little nervous to actually pick a place because I did not want to select a meal that would sabotage my process too much. I was in Campbell, looked through my bookmarks, and somehow at that very moment, pastrami was calling my name. This place is across Sonoma Chicken Coop. Where BYR used to be. The sign at the top was hard to read so I never knew the name of this place until last Saturday. Though I hangout in Campbell every Friday and Sunday, I was oblivious. Sandwiches are between $11-$13. I wanted corned beef but the Unkosher was what I ended up picking thanks to Eli's review; it's a Ruben, basically. There are plenty of other sandwiches, salads, and sides to choose from. I also got a side of macaroni and cheese for my little one. Not really a place for small children. All the tables and seats were high but I did manage to grab a seat out in front overlooking downtown Campbell - on a couch / lounge like setting. It made me appreciate my Saturday.. to just sit there and relax. There was live music playing by Frost. My little one was dancing the entire time. The wait was a little over 5 minutes and once I saw my order being walked over, I knew that I have made the right choice before touching my sandwich. It's a pretty hefty sandwich, something I should I have ate only half of and saving the rest for another time but hell no. After my first bite, all I felt was my love for pastrami grow. The Russian dressing and sauerkraut was excellent. It's a messy sandwich so if you are on a date, I would not recommend this sandwich. I didn't put my sandwich down because it was dripping w/ deliciousness. I ate and smiled after each bite (I did) and looked over to my right to see that a guy was staring at me the entire time. I laughed. What can I do? I love the Unkosher! The pastrami is so good!!!! The macaroni and cheese was delicious and creamy. I love the Parmesan on top to make it even cheesier. For $4, it's pretty inexpensive for the quality that you pay. No Coca Cola and Pepsi products here. I wanted a diet soda, the guy retrieved a bottle from the cooler. Confused, I thought it was beer but it was indeed a diet beverage. It tastes good and I don't know how much is it. I paid roughly $21 for everything. I think I am in love.

Awesome sandwiches. Amazing beer. It's worth the price. The customer service is fantastic. They made a mistake with my order due to technical issues and they went above and beyond to rectify it. They are friendly and great with recommendations. Buy beer to go and get 40% off. That's nice, right? Definitely recommend.

I just discovered Spread about 6-7 weeks ago and have been super impressed with their beer and food selections along with their chilled out atmosphere and knowledgable staff. We were were so impressed that we decided to hosted a birthday party at Spread for my for wife earlier this week. I couldn't have been more impressed with how Brian (the GM) and the rest of the staff went the extra mile to make it a special occasion. All of our food favorites and even some special beer orders were made to make it a truly unique event. I couldn't recommend this place more if I tried. Cheers guys!

Great sandwich spot in DT Campbell. It's a bit overpriced for sandwiches [$8-$12], but then again it's rare to see these combinations of ingredients elsewhere. The Ono [$12] which consists of slow roasted pork, pineapple garlic spread, fried bok choy, and sriracha. It has a nice combination of texture from the tender pork and the lightly fried bok choy for the crunch. The pork tasted more like pork belly, fatty and more juicy. The sandwich was quite savory and the sriracha added a nice little kick. Probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life. The Unkosher [$12] was stacked with rich, delicious pastrami. Also another great sandwich. Order a side of mac n cheese too! $4 for uber cheesiness. So good! If you're a sandwich fiend, this is a great place to check off your bucket list.

This place blew my mind. The cashier (who I believe is the owner) was SUPER friendly and extremely helpful. A friend recommended me the Unkosher, which is their take on the classic Reuben. When I went to order, I brought up a beer to pay for as well. It was a Sans Frontière. The manager made sure I knew how much it was before I bought it. I'm super glad he did because it was $35. Here's the good catch: if you take the bottled beer home, they take 40% off of the sticker price. While I waited for my food to be made, my friends and I sat in their awesome outdoor seating area. It has great outdoor lounge couches and tables to eat at. It's nice and comfortable out there. I got my Unkosher, and immediately claimed it the best reuben I've ever had in my life, and reubens are the only sandwiches I order when I go to sandwich places. The Unkosher is pastrami, sauerkraut, and house pickles, but the kickers are the bacon russian dressing and the emmental cheese. Those two pieces changed the freaking GAME!!! I wish I lived in The Bay Area, because I would be a regular here if I was. If you get a chance, visit Spread and have your sandwich life changed.

Oh man, I love this place. Their sandwiches are delicious and humongous. I usually never eat more than half, but saving the other half for later is the best part. The sandwiches can be a little on the steep side depending on what you are used to, but the quality of the ingredients is worth it. They also sell a huge selection of beer and wine at huge discounts (good varietals) and have an ever changing and expanding menu. I will come here again and again. The interior is kind of small, but you can order to go or use one of the outside tables. Plus, its next door to Frost, so how can you go wrong?

The sandwiches are fantastic and the beer selection is eclectic with many choices of very high quality beers. The staff is friendly and very attentive. This is a great example of a locally owned spot that is run with passion. A must try if in Campbell!!!

Wow, the sandwiches here DO live up to the yelp hype! I had one of the best sandwiches there yesterday that I've ever had in my life! On top of the good food, the service is attentive and friendly too! The employees here are very nice! Since my friend drove there, I decided to get a beer. I don't know much about beers, so I asked the guy there who I think is the owner about which beer is good for a pale ale. He recommended the come hell or high water on tap. He gave me a sample of that to try which is nice. So I got that and it was good. There is large selection of beer and some wine here. They also have old fashioned style and natural sodas too. The place is clean, cool looking, air conditioned inside, and there are a few large couches in turquoise outside in the front. I got the Gandolfini sandwich which has salami and other Italian cold cuts in it with olive spread. It comes on a fresh and delicious rosemary foccaia bread. That cost $10. I also got the side of the mac & cheese to try. It came in a small cast iron skillet for $4.00. It was really rich and creamy. I don't like rich foods, so I didn't like that and neither did my friend. It was fresh, but just a little too rich for us. I'd only recommend it for those of you who like rich tasting food. My friend got the UnKosher sandwich which was a pastrami sandwich on dark bread. She really liked her sandwich too. After she took the first bite, she said, mmmmm!!!! The sandwiches are very big and filling. I was almost full after eating only half of one! I ate it all though since we were going to the movies later and I wanted to make sure that I was stuffed so that I wouldn't buy any snacks there. Mission accomplished! My friends and I will definitely come back to this place soon!

An Alzheimer fundraiser brought us to this deli for the first time. What a great find. We had a delicious meal. My hubby had the UnKosher a pastrami, swiss, and bacon Russian dressing on rye. He opted to forgo the kraut. I had the Duchess which was turkey, pastrami, cheddar, tomato, sprouts, two different aoli's on a roll. Yummy. They also have a great selection of beers and they are reasonably priced. We'll be back. A great find in a fun down town.

As a beer lover this place is awesome for finding unusual beers. The big negative is the sandwiches are quite expensive so usually I just go here for the beer. 40% off if you take the bottles to go!

YUM! So much yum. My friend and I were hungry in Campbell and decided to come here based on Yelp reviews. Thanks so much, Yelpers! This is my new favorite sandwich place. We came here on a Saturday evening around 6:00. It's one of those places where you order and pay, then sit and wait for your order to be brought to you. I ordered the Dutchess, which was a turkey sandwich with sprouts, garlic aioli, and other amazing things. My friend ordered the Torta. They have a huge selection of fun-looking beers and wine, but we were a little pressed for time and didn't delve into that side of things. Next time! We were sitting for just about five minutes before our sandwiches came, warm and heavenly. We were both in LOVE, at first bite. The perfect combination of flavors, perfectly toasted, perfectly delicious. The portion was good as well - we each ate half and saved the rest for the end of our night, where we would be sufficiently buzzed to enjoy it all over again. The sandwiches were about $10 - $11 each, so pretty pricey, but if you're like me you'll get two meals out of it at least. Or even if you eat it all in one sitting, it's SO GOOD that the price is justified. The service was also wonderful - good humored people there. Of course I'll be back!

I can't say anything that hasn't already been said, but... Great sandwiches - yep Good beer selection - yep great mac n cheese - definitely way too expensive - Oh hell yea....thus the 3 stars I understand that's it's expensive to run a business these days, especially in Campbell...but seriously?

I've had the PBLT and Gandolfini here, both highly recommended. Of course, I love pate' on anything, so I'm obviously biased. The sandwiches are solid and well thought out. They definitely use quality ingredients. Only cons: beers and sandwiches are pricier than other gourmet sandwich places. The wait to receive my sandwich is much longer than most gourmet deli places. Seating is limited, but there's quick turnover, so finding seating is easy. I probably would've given this place 5 stars, but then I tried Bertucelli's La Villa Gourmet Delicatessen in Willow Glen (5 stars IMO) and can't rate them as equals. Bertucelli's is a few bucks less with super mouth watering, freshly sliced meats and cheese.

Spread is located in beautiful Campbell. The ambiance is dope. You can dine on the counter top with a friend and or get a table for a group. The place can get pretty busy depending on what time of the day you go and I can understand why! Spread offers really great sandwiches to choose from. I'm a sucker for a BLT and their rendition adds a liver pate twist. Creatively called the PBLT, it was pretty taste and well constructed! They also have their own twist on fruit salad and Mac N Cheese, try it out! The beer selection is by far the most dynamic to any other places I've visted. I lost count how many different IPA's I seen and to make things even more sweet, Spread features beers on tap too!! What makes Spread top tier is the people that work their craft which makes you want to come back again and again. The service is warm and the team that holds down the fort works like a finely tuned engine. Charlie and the gang got this place rocking!

This really is a sandwich and beer dream come true. If you like a really good, properly made sandwich and enjoy fresh, true micro brews look no further. Taking sandwiches to a new level is a tough feat nowadays. With so many spots getting creative how do you step it up? Apply wizard like culinary talents that's how. The crew in back loves what they do and puts out incredible flavors with heart and attention to detail. Not to mention the Mac n cheese. (Mac n cheese Mondays is off the hook!) I love the PBLT (pate blt) and the dutchess. The beer is where the deal is sealed. Close to a 100 bottles to choose from plus a huge rotating tap list of some of the best brews around. A leprechaun told me they have a beer club too. This place is a weekly habit... No weekly addiction. If you have not tried it you are seriously missing out.

Why did I wait so long to try this place? I'm usually not giddy over sandwich shops. I like places like Ike's and Mr. Pickles just fine, but I find them to be a bit on the fussy side. Spread hits the right combination of unique yet familiar. Their PBLT at first glance looked like it had a way too high bread to filling ratio, but that first bite proved me wrong. Very wrong. The peppered bacon was sweet, peppery, and crispy yet meaty. It was highlighted by the freshness of the tomatoes and finished with lingering savoriness from the pate. Did I mention yet about their beer selection? They've got a good number of craft beer on tap as well as many refrigerators full of unique bottles.

My first time at Spread today for lunch, we waited 30 minutes in line to order an over priced sandwich...ridiculous! Spread just a word of advice on Sunday's when the farmers market is happening you should have extra employees working to make the experience better for your customers. Walked in with long lines, three people behind the counter and all the tables were a mess! Not sure if I'll be back...wasn't worth me waiting 30 min in line to get a sandwich.

  • Ann H.

Had the Pho Sho and the torta, both of which were really tasty. The service was friendly and helpful, too. The reason it's only three stars is the pricing. If I'm paying $8-$12 bucks for a sandwich, i think that potato chips, or at least a humble pickle spear, should be included on the side. Here, you don't get that. The booze is also super pricey. If you dine in, prepare to be gouged. Your best bet is to get the food and bottles to go; bottles are 40% off if you get 'em to go. Either way, though, I think the prices are pretty steep for what you get. It's too bad, because the sandwiches are awesome and I'd probably come in regularly if it were more affordable.

  • M T.

Spread rocks! They have an awesome beer selection, great food and a friendly and knowledgeable wait staff. I've had their Unkosher, Gandolfini, Bologna sandwiches and Pho wrap and all were very tasty. They seem to change their taps regularly, rotating in some very good breweries. My only complaints would be the small size of their place and hours, but perhaps that's what keeps them sharp. I'm hoping they can continue to establish themselves as a place to go in downtown Campbell, because I'm definitely going to keep going.

Hipster stronghold, skip it. "There you go, and your all set". It's the new thank you, have a nice day.

Delicioso! I had the unkosher which was my second choice as they were sold out of the Ono. Next time! My hubby had the duchess. We were both happy. My sandwich reminded me of Katz deli in NYC. Mmmm. They have a great selection of beer and Togo is 40% off. Holler!

    (5)
  • Mary C.

The "Unkosher" was the best sandwich I've had in a long time. I never order pastrami, I'm not big on sauerkraut or marble rye. My friend talked me into this. I am still dreaming about how good this sandwich was. They have a killer beer selection. 200+ beers, it was hard to make a decision, someone working there helped me decide and it was a great choice. I'm not sure if they were training someone new or it was just computer problems but I stood at the register for a while waiting to pay, nobody ever said they had a register problem, after waiting a while finally someone said "oh, we will bring the food to your table". I really like Campbell and love all the new restaurants popping up there, but I'm finding it's really really noisy.

  • Spencer W.

Friend an I came here for lunch and both had the unkosher sando and a beer. The sandwich was filling, but the pastrami kept getting pulled out of my sandwich when i took a bite, maybe it could be cut thinner or use less chewy pastrami. The flavor combination in the unkosher is good though. I had a Port brewing - Wipe out on tap and my friend had the El Conquistador from Mission brewing. Total was $40.xx after tax not including tip. seemed pretty high for what we got. Maybe skip the beer here, i'll tell you why. They offer a 40% off bottles if you are taking to go, like take home and drink anywhere but here, but their prices reflect that increase. I.E. how about a bomber of Clown Shoes - Muffin Top, $18.00 at Spread, at Whole foods - $9.99. do the math. They should do it like City Beer or Beer Revolution and just charge a $1 corking fee to drink your bottle here, instead of some elaborate "i think i'm saving money" scheme.

Good sandwiches and a huge selection of beers! Seating/lounge area outside for those who have pets! Has a hipster-like vibe. Food is a bit on the pricey side; looks like people come here more for the beer and Mac-n-cheese!

I ordered the Duchess yesterday with no tomatoes and added lettuce. Hint: Do not add lettuce. lol I'm not knocking any stars for the wilted mess that was left in my sandwich by the time I got back to work to devour it. Umm, I mean, enjoy blithely. It was, after all, my add-in. Definitely will not be doing that again. I didn't see or taste any sprouts, though, so I found myself missing some veg. The sandwich itself smells so delicious with its black garlic spread. Next time I'll ask for extra because that stuff makes the sandwich sing! 1 star off because $11 is pretty steep for an average sized sandwich. It was a pretty great sandwich, but for over $10, I'd expect at least a small side of fries or chips.

  • Mu E.

I went here because the photos on Yelp looked like real sandwiches, and yes they are. Super good, super fresh. Really great ingredients and bread too. Nice selection of beers. I'll be back for happy hour.

Not sure if it gets busy but I went early on a Friday to beat any rush. Sit inside at tables, bar, or alongside window. A lot of bottled beer and draft, some wine and other drinks. Sandwiches are very tasty. Little pricey. My Dutchess sandwich and Ship Wrecked DIPA was $20.

    (5)
  • Veronica B.

$50 for two bottles of beer, two bags of chips and two sandwiches. Not going to say I didn't enjoy our meal. The sandwiches were innovative, savory, and hit the spot. Just nothing too different from what I've had at other sandwich joints (cc: Ike's). I just wished we checked the prices of the beer upon purchasing.

  • Catie A.

I was at Spread for lunch. I ordered the Unkosher, which I think other people might enjoy quite a lot, but I found the pastrami to be too fatty to be enjoyable. My friend ordered the Humpty Dumpty and said she thought it was okay. I got the fruit cup side, which was actually a great choice because it was the perfect accompaniment to my rich sandwich. They sprinkle some cayenne on the fruit, which I loved. My friend got the mac and cheese as a side and I thought it was quite tasty. If I came back to Spread, I'd be tempted to do the mac and cheese and fruit cup instead of a sandwich. I think the sandwiches are more interesting than they need to be. They have lots of beer here, but i'm not much of a beer drinker, it looked like they have a great selection. Every single worker we encountered was extremely nice.

  • sarah b.

Perfect sandwiches. I have a feeling that other reviewers are going to comment on the high prices, but I'll gladly pay an extra couple of bucks for amazing. Plus, the sandwiches are so big that if you have a moderate appetite, you could probably split one with someone else. Try the Ono, the Pho Sho, or the Unkosher. The pineapple garlic spread + Siracha on the Ono makes it my new addiction. My only wish is that they had a couple more things for kids (even if it feels more like a happy hour place, I always see kiddos here). The grilled cheese is more like an adult size fancy grilled cheese. Even a simple PB&J would be a great addition.

  • Rosie B.

Ok, I have to say that the sandwiches here are nothing short of fabulous. Went for lunch one day and had the Duchess and my friend had the Unkosher. Both were succulent and flavorful. They were patient with us since it was our first visit. The waiter even helped us pick a beer that would go with our food - and the beer selection is more than a little overwhelming. Very casual, walk up to the counter and order, take your food and sit at community tables. They also have a nice big patio. The sandwiches are HUGE so you can share or take some for later. We didn't try it, but they had a soup special that looked good and the choices are almost too much. We found it very hard to decide! Spread, why can't you open a location in downtown Los Angeles? Why must I leave Campbell and go back home? I would say the sandwiches here are (almost) worth a flight from LA!

    (5)
  • Marc K.

Went in between lunch and dinner so only wanted a sandwich (actually split one). Decided on the un-kosher and thought it was really tasty. A bit greasy and a little salty, but after all it is corned beef! Had a good taste to it though! I browsed their huge selection of beers and will try one next time. Great looking selection though. The owner or part owner was incredibly nice, offering other stuff and just as happy when we only got the sandwich. Outside seating is really nice. As for price, seemed a bit on the high side, but if they are really cooking all their meats there for their sandwiches, I guess it's justifiable. Overall a good experience and I'll be back.

Just really love this place. I came here about a month ago as it's walking distance. On weekends they have breweries there for beer tastings...and they have some good ones! Came back for lunch and the sandwiches are rockin'. And then on to happy hour ... From 5:30 til close hella cheap draft craft beers.

I stopped by here this weekend to grab lunch for me and the boyfriend. I orderd the Duchess and boy was it good. I got 2 sandwiches, 1 mac and cheese, and 1 cole slaw and my total was 30 dollars! Yikes! The Duchess - Awesome, next time I will add avacao and cheese Mac and Cheese - BOMB! Cole Slaw - Meh, I will not order again Over it was A-Ok!!

Their sandwiches not only Spread they SPLATTER. Spent the rest of the night throwing up. I've visited this restaurant several times before and was never disappointed. But this time when I ordered my usual The Duchess, I noticed the meat was still cold and the bread too, not toasted. But I was so hungry I didn't let it bother me. I had no alcohol and went to bed early, woke up feeling super nauseous and threw up into my boyfriends laundry basket. I'll call it a fluke, will be back again for the mac and cheese.

I have had nearly every sandwich. I have not been disappointed, the sandwiches are unique and flavorful. The service here is great, friendly energetic people. I have felt welcome each time I have visited. Their beer selection is large. I am not a beer connoisseur so some are lost on me. He ones I have tasted were smooth and tasty. I wish this business great success.

As far as sandwiches go for vegans, it's really hard to find a good one. But honestly Spread is my new go-to sandwich place! I have been a few times now and have never been disappointed! The weed whacker is my favorite (without cheese) but you can also customize your own sandwich. They always have great beer and wine on tap, as well as a MASSIVE selection of bottled beers! When ordering beer togo it's 40% off! You can't go wrong! I have brought my friends and family here as well and EVERYONE loves it! The Gandolfini is a favorite among my non vegan friends! Great happy hour too! With draft beer for only $3.75. Definitely check this place out if you haven't been yet!

Don't order takeout based on the menu on their website as it is "outdated" according to the guy behind the counter. What I thought came with avocado on a roll was on sliced bread with no avocado. Not that it really matters, I just want to point that out. At least tell me it has changed when I'm ordering. Shame on you spread. On a positive note, they were friendly in store.

  • L V.

Sandwiches taste good and nice unusual selection of bottled beers and beers on tap, but way too expensive to make it a regular place to eat. About $8.95 is where I start hesitating and feeling like I'm spending too much at a deli. Most of the specialty sandwiches are $11 and higher. A beer and sandwich can cost $20 and up, which for someone not working in tech is kind of pushing it for lunch. They have beer tastings periodically for $10. I like the atmosphere, and would hang out there all the time if I could afford it but, alas I'm only a blue collar worker.

  • Lauren W.

If you're willing to pay a little more for delicious food and ever-changing unique beers, then this is the place for you!!! They'll let you do beer tastings and you can build your own custom sandwiches if you prefer. Also, when you buy beer to go its always 40% off -- worth it. Had the grilled cheese tonight, and my husband had the Duchess. Both were amazing -- thanks, Spread!

Amazing beer selection on tap and bottled, and outstanding sandwiches. I had the Ono sandwich and it was one of the best sandwiches I've had in the last few months. If you want to treat yourself to a nice craft beer and a delicious sandwich, this is your place.

Delicious. Beautiful, clean cute little hidden gem in downtown Campbell. Cute seating area outside, beers and wine on tap - with great selection of beers to purchase for home/open and drink there. Probably 5 coolers or so of different beer options. Sandwiches are really good, and huge portions. Only reason it's not a 5-star, got turkey instead of pastrami. No worries, I'll be back! Sucks some other reviews had bad experiences; the employees were super friendly, helpful, and seemed genuinely happy! It's all how you greet and interact with people.

Cool place to just hang out in the evenings. Plays fun music that isn't the typical bs blasted on the radio. Got The Ono (slow roasted pork tenderloin & belly, stir-fried bok choy, pineapple garlic spread, pineapple-sesame sauce and sriracha) and a side of potato salad (purple, red & yukon fingerlings, boiled egg, garlic dressing). Served fast and portion is just perfect. The sandwich itself is just so fabulous! Every bite melts in your mouth. The tenderloin is cooked to perfection and they add just a tad bit of sriracha for an extra kick. Potato salad was outstanding too, with a nice variety of potato types and not overly drenched in sauce/mayo.

I am sdicted to this place. Who knew sandwiches could be so fun and delicious. I started trying different sandwiches and the I found spreads version of a blt.,it was heaven. I simply crave this sandwich. Everything I have tried has been yummy, the humpty dumpty, and gandofini are amazing. I can't wait to try one of the cheese and salami boards next. the casual seating is comfortable and on a sunny day their patio is lovely to sip a drink and munch on a sandwich and relax. I can't wait to go back again soon.

It is pretty expensive here, but the food is so good! They have a ton of different beers for you to try. I don't drink so i can't write a review for that. But their water was great. lol They have cucumber water or strawberry lemon water. I like how they have an area outside to eat too! I enjoy eating outside with friends! The reason why i didn't give it a 5 star is b/c i had to wait almost an hour for my food. There was only two ppl working on a friday. I was very hungry and hated that i had to wait 45 mins.

  • Joseph S.

I'm very frustrated at the terrible quality of our order at Spread. Here are a few reasons that I've given them only two stars: 1) Overpriced. I'm not kidding. $11 for a BLT?!? I ended up ordering the Weedwhacker (housemade hummus, black garlic aïoli, emmental cheese, avocado, herb-roasted tomato, sprouts) and added turkey. They charged $9 which isn't as ridiculous as $11 for a BLT, but the quality of the sandwich was not reflective of a $9 price tag. 2) The sandwich was poorly assembled. All of the turkey was on one side and all of the other toppings/sauces were unevenly distributed which not only made the bread soggy but made it taste very unbalanced. 3) Bread was just OK, choice of chips and sides was poor, they should have more on hand. Beer selection looked great but prices were also very high and we were taking ours to-go

The Unkosher is amazing. It just works on every level. I wish I had ordered it instead of having a bit of my brother's. i'm definitely getting next time im here and im definitely coming back. The coleslaw that he got to go with the sandwich is definitely underwhelming though. The PBLT is pretty good, though I wish it had more pate. Nothing against their portions, I just love pate and always want more. tl;dr get the Unkosher, see if they'll sub something for the slaw.

  • Sarah C.

This place is my current obsession. Every sandwich so far has been very very good. The Gandolfini is my favorite right now, but I haven't been through the entire menu yet. The Torta, Bologna, and Pho Sho were also memorable. If the sandwiches seem too expensive for you then this is probably not your type of place--go to Subway. \ If you understand how special it is to get a sandwich with burrata on it or where the "bologna" is mortadella, then Spread is worth a try. The sides are good, but the sandwiches are really where it's at. I almost hate singing their praises because I like being able to sit and enjoy my sandwich and beer on Friday afternoons. Once the word gets out I don't think that's going to be easy.

I really liked this place. I came here last night with a friend for the bottle cap making party. The draft beers were $2 off and it was $1 off sandwiches. That is the same deal they offer during their happy hour. I like their draft beer selection. Also they have a lot of single beers in the fridge to choose from which you can take to go. The sandwich options look really good. I only ordered the Mac and Cheese, and I recommend that to anyone to get EVERY time. I will definitely be back again for more beers and to try the sandwiches. Service was great and quick. Plus the guys in there are really friendly! It's a cool place :)

Oh yes worth the wait. Best sandwiches ever. Get the TORTA. Amazeballs. And damn. If you love PHO.... get the PHO SHO. it's pretty much the same meat IN pho.... In a sandwhich. And all the beer. All the beer in the world. Ok. Maybe not ALL but an amazing selection. OK just go... trust.

I've come here a number of times now, and confidently say that I like this place! I'm not a huge beer fan, but that doesn't stop me from chowing down on some sandwiches. This is definitely a beer drinkers heaven. The selection of beer and wine is crazy. You have to be a serious beer or wine connoisseur truly appreciate their selection. But enough about the drinks... let's talk FOODZ The Duchess is a great sandwich. The bread is perfect and amount of meat, while a lot, tastes great with the aoli. The Egg salad is super delicious. A new take on an old classic. I love that they used arugala to freshen up this normally heavy dish. I also ordered a special sandwich the last time I was there.... I think it was like the Pho Steak sandwich made with an onion jam. It was really good, but I just wasn't a fan of the overall flavor profile (and not bc it was poorly made, but more so bc I just wasn't a fan) But my fav is the mac and cheese! Yum, bring on the fat! The bechemel sauce they made was perfect, and the serving size was just enough! Ive tried to get the spam which i hear is amazing, but they were out the day we went. Final say, if you can splurge a bit on a sandwhich, go here!

First timer here and didn't know what to try. Split the dutchness and pho'sho. Had mixed feelings about both. But both came out looking amazing. I wish I took a picture. I had to try the pho'sho just bc it was so different. Amazing. Awkwardly delicious. Bomb.com . I would definitely come back for that sandwich. I just ate it and I'm craving it again.

Dropped by Thursday afternoon with a friend. Was impressed with the selection of beer, wine and sodas. The dude who took our order was low-key, friendly and funny...who knew? I ordered the Unkosher as I am a fan of pastrami. Sooooo dayum good. I'm definitely coming back and I'm telling all my friends about it as well.

Can't beat $3.75 happy hour for great beer! 5:30 to close. Food is yummy too! Tried the Mac and cheese and The Ono pork sandwich. Delish. Can't wait to go back for the Unkosher pastrami sandwich! Nice lil beer selection on draft and bottles. Perfect place to grab a small bite and unwind.

I live in Down Town, and I Love Sandwiches Almost As Much As I Love My Fiance (almost!!). It Breaks My Heart That The More I Eat At Spread, The More Disappointed I Become With Spread. My review is based on my 6+ trips to Spread. All stories listed below have occurred more often than not. PROS: -Only real sandwich shop on the Down Town strip (Mr. Pickles is just off the strip). -Tons of unique and tasty beers -Friendly staff -Snake & Butterfly (sweets shop next door) typically hires live music on the weekend, so Spread is lucky enough to benefit from this. -Self-Service water dispenser with delicious fruit infused water. CONS: -The massive options for beer with put an unnecessary dent in your wallet. Example: Just a ordinary Anchor Steam is $3.25/bottle... wayy over priced. You will receive a 40% discount on beer if you order "to-go" which is ridiculous... who come downtown to order to go?? -Always "out of this, out of that". Avoid coming on a Sunday if you want to have the option of ordering anything on their menu. Example: I came in this past Sunday, tried to order Mac n' Cheese (appetizer), they had none. Tried to order the Sunday Special "Torta" (which is their standard Torta + a Fried Egg), they didnt have any eggs. Both stiff arms gave me a sad stomach. -High End Prices w/ low end operations/services. Example: sandwiches here start at roughly $11, which is steep, but acceptable. However, you would expect that this high standard/quality would be carried out throught Spread's operations and process. The patio seats are regularly pretty dirty (noticeable that seats/tables havent been dusted off in a couple days). On Sunday, the busiest day, you'll find 1 person working the cash register and one person making sandwiches (which causes undesirable delays for customers). My wait time has exceeded 20+ minutes (from when I order) too many times. I honestly dont know if I'll come back. They have some really good sandwiches ("Pho Sho", Torta" "Duchess"), but the end-price combined with the risk of no inventory creates a large barrier for me. For $30+ total, I feel I can get a better meal at Brown Chicken Brown Cow, or go to Whole Foods + Bev Mo to build my own. It's a cool place to try, but I know there any much more suitable options.

mmmmm I love sandwiches...especially pastrami ones. The unkosher is so good. The pastrami is BOMB!! I've also tried the dutchess and that is now my new favorite sandwich. its a turkey sandwich with pastrami. I usually only eat half of my sandwich because the one time i tried to eat it all i was stuffed for hours! Definitely worth the money. They also have a huge selection of beers! and ladies they have a table that has purse hooks.

The other day I was looking for a new spot for my friend and I to have lunch. The requirements: good food, happy hour, and good selection of beer. Not only did this place exceed all three, but the service was excellent! I got The Ono, recommended by one of the owners. Needless to say, I wanted to pitch a tent, camp out, and wait till the next day to try another sandwich. It was delicious!!! And I am I love with the wide selection of amazing brews!

Recommendation: A MUST TRY. My second visit to Spread and first experience getting to try their sandwiches - glad I did! We ordered: The Gandolfini: I was betting this would be my favorite, but it turned out to be my least favorite of the three sandwiches we tried today. The profile reminded me a muffaletta, which is near and dear to my heart. It fell a bit short on execution as the meats were a bit tough, stringy and chewy and the burrata spread on it gave it an unwanted "fatty" mouth feel. The charcuterie meats featured in this sandwich are all great, they were just too thick. These artisan meats could really benefit from the respect of a manual Berkel meat slicer. The Unkosher: I liked this. It was served on marbled rye. I might would want a different bread, like an onion-rye roll. Spread is trying to shake it up with their unique flavor profiles, so I think unique breads would just continue to carry their goal. Having said that, it was a good sandwich and one I wouldn't hesitate to get again. The Torta: I expected this to be my least favorite and it turned out to be my favorite. Not a fan of black beans, I must admit their black bean spread is the perfect balance to a succulent braised pork intense with wonderful cumin flavor. This sandwich could easily be my favorite! Winner! Potato Salad: meh. Just 'meh'. We didn't like this at all and brought it home in the hopes of saving it. Dry and tasteless. I'm also not a fan of skin on potatoes in potato salad because once the skins separate from the potatoes, all they add is unpleasant mealy-ness. Our container was a lot of dry, hard squares of potato with a lot of unpleasant sand-papery skins. Skip this until they improve on it. Mac-and-Cheese: HOLY COW! OMG! FANTASTIC! This was outstanding! Buttery and cheesy. Yeah - it ain't mac-and-cheese if it isn't buttery AND cheesy. Great creamy consistency. I hope this wasn't a fluke and that this is the true consistency of that dish. I will get this every time! So onto the vibe: It's kind of like they're not sure what they want their identity to be yet. Are they a really good sandwich shop, or are they a beer lounge? The couches out front don't scream "sandwiches" and so it's easy to pass this place while looking for it. They have a little niche area to the right of the door where it seems owners/employees/friends hang out around a laptop. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like to see back-of-house activity in the front of the house. It's a great little cozy area for a smallish group, but is pretty much rendered unavailable by the owners/employees themselves. Spread is located on the end of Downtown nearest Winchester Avenue. Parking is mostly street parking, but there is a small parking garage behind them.

Everything sounds pretty amazing on the board. Ordered the unkosher and weedwhacker sandwich, the charcuterie mixed plate, a beer and ginger ale. The bill came out to $52! Definitely on the pricey side, but I like the concept of the place. The unkosher was pretty good, only setback I had was the creamy dressing it was a tad bit over bearing. The weekwhacker was a veggie sandwich with hummus, good stuff! The charcuterie mix plate had a good amount of meat and cheese, the only cheese we didnt touch was the blue cheese, just not a fan. I should of asked what type of cheese they were serving. Overall a decent meal and good service.

Oh. My. God. I can't even describe what I ate as a sandwich. It was much more than that. The closest word I can find for it is experience. This is arguably the best food I've eaten in the south bay -- in freshness and originality, Spread is more like a San Francisco place. But it makes a great home in downtown Campbell, too. I had the PBLT first. I actually had to put down my book and close my eyes, it was so amazing. Later, I rhapsodized about it to my better half, and he insisted we go the next day for lunch. This time I had the Ono, which was also extraordinary. The staff was friendly and helpful, the eating areas comfortable, the atmosphere just charming. "Sublimely good" sums it up.

I was so excited to learn that downtown was getting a gourmet sandwich spot. I went for their soft opening and got the run down of how everything is supposed to work. The restaurant it's self is very well done, comfortable and cool. I am not the most adventurous when it comes to food, so I found the menu a little intimidating. I ordered the Porchetta with braised greens and I have to say I was not expecting what came out. The pork was cubed with some of the worst vegetables I have ever tasted unfortunately my sandwich was inedible (for me). I did not want to be rude so I took my sandwich to go thinking my fiancé would eat it later (he will eat anything!) and sadly he had the same reaction. The sandwich menu may not be my style but the beer selection is another story. I was shocked to find they carry my favorite beer of all time Estrella Damm Inedit. It was a sad day when Liquid Bread took it off their menu, so naturally I am very excited Spread decided to serve it. In all I will give this place another shot and hopefully a better review. I want to Like Spread I may just need to ask more questions next time.

I reluctantly paid $12.00 for my sandwich today and all I can say is WOW! Well worth the money. I had no idea a pastrami sandwich could be this good! I had the Unkosher (hold the kraut please) and I watched them make it, all the while assuring myself that I would be posting a negative Yelp review this afternoon because I really wasn't impressed by anything I saw them put on my $12.00 sandwich. Boy was I wrong! The flavor profile is absolutely amazing! I've never tasted a Ruben this good. I do wish they offered a half sandwich option for those of us who have lighter appetites because although I will definitely be coming back, that alone would bring me back more often. I guess I'll have my other half for dinner tonight. I bet it's just as scrumptious cold! The service was EXCELLENT and although they are still working out the kinks, everyone was happy and pleasant and very attentive. Good work Spread! Welcome to Campbell.

I had the Weedwacker "to of" on a weekday. For $10 I was expecting a packed veggie sandwich. What I got was a single piece of cheese with sprouts and spread. The sandwich was delicious and the bread was awesome but the sandwich was too small for the price. Additionally I thought it came with chips but the only thing in my bag was a sandwich; no chips, no napkin. The beer and drink selection looked great! I liked that atmosphere and the outdoor dining. Overall only 3 stars. But I will give it another chance. Maybe it was an off day.

From the moment I heard this was going down, I've said..... This is exactly what downtown Campbell is missing. Well, Spread doesn't disappoint. Anyone that knows me, knows that I'm the pickiest mofo they know. Go ahead and ask. Do it now then finish reading. Okay, so.... I had my reservations about the menu. BUT, I went in today for the first time and have to say that I'm not just impressed, I'm ecstatic about this place. I love sandwiches and tried 3 today. The Bologna, the Torta and the Unkosher. I prolly could've eaten all 3, but the two others I were there with were also hungry. We also had a side of Mac n Cheese and a Fruit Salad topped with chili powder and lime juice. There was nothing left on our plates. NOTHING!!! Great job! You can check out the rest of the menu here: facebook.com/photo.php?f… Not that there's anything wrong with the menu, BUT they assured us that it will change as more guests and requests start to fill the joint. I have no doubt that Spread is going to be the new talk of the town. I can't wait to go in and sample more. BTW, for those of you that are into specialty beers... There's only a couple hundred to choose from. :) Thank me later!!! Go in and enjoy some Spread NOW though!!!!!

Great sandwiches and great beer selection. But come on guys, you need to serve sandwiches till close. I can't tell you how many times I've walked through the door and they're no longer serving food.

After two visits, I am confident this is one of my favorite lunch-time treats in Campbell. The fact that I can walk there from my office is a bonus but Spread nails the hot sandwhich and really pushes the edge with their signature style and added flavors. I also happen to have a big weak spot for craft beer so the fact that they have one of the best selections of beer in the area is a huge plus for me. I look forward to continued savoring of this sweet spot in Campbell. Long live Spread!

Great new beers and eats place in Campbell. Things are sure shaking in downtown. The beer selection is wide, German, Danish, Belgian, crafts from all over the US. Ahy place carrying Mikkeler and Jever are on a good start with me. The eats menu is also well varied, sandwiches (which the Porchetta is on the to do list), cheeses and meats from very high quality vendors. We had a mixed plate of meats from El Salchichero, La Quercia, plus cheeses from Walter Rass, Shelburne, and a number of other great producers. SInce it was nice on Sat the place was totally packed so finally we got a seat outside. I definitely need to come back both hungrier and thirstier. One of the people behind the food program here was a chef and Alexander's and The Plumed Horse so you know they're throwing down. 4.3 stars

I've been to spread 2 times. The first time I had the unkosher which is similar to a Reuben sandwich. It was fantastic the first time I was here, they have a delicious bacon thousand island dressing they put on it and the portion of meat is huge. My friend got turkey and it was very dry. The second time I went I got the unkosher again and it was extremely salty. My friend got the turkey and it was good this time. They need to be more consistent, it shouldn't be hit or miss. However, their beer selection is great if you're into craft beers. Always new stuff on tap and their bottle selection is huge.

As I was about to fall asleep last night, I already had a craving for their mac n cheese mere hours after having it for the first time. I also tried The Weedwhacker veggie sandwich and absolutely loved everything on it (sprouts, avocados, hummus, tomato, ect). Excellent combination of flavors and the bread was phenomenal. Service was excellent! The guy taking our order was very knowledgeable on both the food and beer menus. And he was super friendly! As for the beer? Amazing selection. I love craft beer, and in their bottled section, there were beers I haven't heard of before. Love it! I will most definitely be back.

I had their torta with carnitas. OMG so good!! Lot's of meat and very tender. They also have a large selection of craft beers. And the couches outside are perfect for a warm day, you can relax, have a beer and bask in the sun. Definitely going back

Love it, really fun place to get an AMAZING sandwiches and good beer. The sandwichs are pretty big so you could share if you aren't starving or always take the other half to go. :) Can't wait to go back and try something else. Cute area outside.

I worked in DT Campbell for a while, and Spread was one of my go to spots for a solid bite to eat. The staff is very laid back, and will strike up a conversation if they have a free moment. The beer selection is always impressive, and it can take quite some time to make a decision on that front. I usually judge sandwich spots by how well they can pull off a vegetarian sandwich, and Spread's weed whacker never disappoints. The mac n cheese is killer, and the fruit salad is one of a kind. Bravo!

    (4)
  • J n B G.

I am most definitely a fan. Most of their signature sandwiches are meat-based, so I haven't tried them, but the Weedwhacker is a superb vegetarian sandwich. I may try to do a build-your-own in the future, but for now, the Weedwhacker is my go-to. Oh, and the mac 'n cheese is REALLY good. Nom.

So good. I got "The Duchess" and it was amazing. Turkey, pastrami, melted cheddar, sprouts, chipotle sauce. The Mac and cheese was legit too! BE CAREFUL, the little pot is searing hot, do not touch... I burned my hand trying to pass it to my friend. I just found my new favorite sandwich place. Amazing beer and wine selection too.

  • Jessica L.

This is our new favorite place in downtown Campbell. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is... well, it's a sandwhich/beer place ;) I'm a vegetarian and the veg sandwhiches are super yummy, and the great beer and it's a fabulous combo. My hubby loves both veggie and the meat sandwhiches. Also great atmosphere. I wish they did a half sandwhich/salad type of combo, and I wish they had soups in winter to go with their sandwhiches.

  • Sammy B.

The variety of sandwiches are amazingly awesome and out of this world good! Don't even get me started on the Mac N Cheese. It's so yummy and served in it's very own skillet. I would go back in a heart beat. The beer selection may be pricey but well worth it if you're a beer lover. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is chill and I would go back for sure.

Checked this place out yesterday with a friend while we were at the farmers market. We split the gandolfini, Mac n cheese and the potato salad. The sandwich and potato salad were so good. The potato salad was lighter than most potato salads and was really flavorful. The sandwich was delicious. The bread was kinda toasted but not too much where it cuts up the roof of your mouth. The Mac and cheese was alright. I don't know if I'd order it again. Saw someone with the charcuterie plate nearby and it looked good as well. I will definitely be back here to try other sandwiches and sides.

The Unkosher may be the best pastrami sandwich I ever had, and the best Reuben. The Gandolfini is less successful but it might be because I tried it after.

Had a quick lunch here with my wife. We shared a weedwhacker sando and a salad of the day. They forgot the added turkey to our sando but we were also not charged for it so all good. I would never order a vegi sandwich but this one was actually so tasty I wasn't missing the omitted turkey at all. The roasted tomato and spread made up for it. Also love the San Pellegrino lemon soda. The vast beer selection alone will make sure I'll be back soon.

Great portabello mushroom sandwich, friendly guys, prompt service. Got a root beer, but their craft beer selection is insane. Hope I can come back with my brother, he'd appreciate it more. Stopped in here on a tip from one of my husband's coworker, good recommendation :)

Nice little sandwich place. I ordered the torta- braised pork, bean and chipotle spread, avocado, arugula and cheese. They have a wide variety of beer. Prices range from $8-$12 for the 10 sandwiches. The torta sandwich is pretty good, the pork inside was juicy and the avocado and spread blended together well.

Spread has done a good job taking what was once a Quiznos and making it more inviting and laid back for people to want to eat and relax here. They've even added a TV and have so many different beers and wines. The staff are really friendly and helpful if you have any questions or concerns about their menu. The owner is super nice and you can tell he makes it a good atmosphere for his staff to work in. I came here for the first time last week for lunch and ordered their roast turkey sandwich and shared it with my son. Wasn't too sure about the parsley salad before ordering but it turned out to match well in the sandwich. I also ordered my son a side of mac n' cheese and he really like it. It looked really good. I love the fact that you can now buy bottles of beer and wine to take with you instead of having to consume it on premise. I will definitely be back to try their other sandwiches and menu items.

How long does it take to make a sandwich? at Spread, about a half hour. When we ordered our sandwiches, they did warn us that they were a little behind, but come on, really? 30 minutes for a sandwich? The sandwich was delicious, the atmosphere was pleasant, the beer was good (pricey tho). Who knows, maybe they got a 500 sandwich catering order right before we walked in. I speculate, however, that the problem is the slow sandwich makers, and that their menu was not designed with time in mind, and their prep area is probably not set up correctly which probably will always create long wait times. Because it was not really that busy- people were ordering sandwiches every 4-5 minutes, no line. I am rooting for this place, so I will be back. I hope they can fix their issues.

You had me at Salami and Burrata - The Gandolfini was DELICIOUS! We shared a sandwich, mac n cheese and potato salad, and everything was really good! The Gandolfini had great flavor, I love that the bread was toasty on the inside while being soft on the outside so it doesn't tear up the inside of your mouth! The potato salad was really flavorful without being too mayo-ish, and the mac n cheese was a winner! Great new sandwich spot!

We tried this place a few weeks ago ! My hubby ordered the Unkosher , I had a bite and liked his better than mine! I had the Roast Turkey , extremely dry and flavorless! They have a great selection of craft beers , and super friendly staff ! Hope they change the recipe of the turkey sandwich for I can give this place a second try !

I ordered the Unkosher pastrami sandwich, but substituted garlic aioli sauce in place of the bacon dressing to make it kosher ;) ...it was delicious! My husband ordered the veggie sandwich called the Weed Whacker, he really liked it and said it was surprisingly filling. We will definitely be back again.

Just what I've been looking for...a quick unique sandwich that's fresh and not a chain sandwich shop in Campbell! I work in Campbell and am bored of Mr. Pickles, Togo's, Eric's and even Whole Foods! I've had the Torta and the Unkosher at Spread. The Torta was fantastic!!! I'm not a huge Pastrami fan, but the Unkosher was really good too. Would love to see the menu grow and will definitely be back. Rivals Purple Onion on Winchester, but not as crowded (yet).

This place was popping when I walked by on the way back from a dental appointment last Wednesday, making me very curious. We dropped in last night to get a potato salad to go, as a test. Yum! scrumptious, very garlicky in great way, and very different and exotic, I pronounced it the best potato salad I ever had. We went back today for lunch. I had the weed whacker, absolutely divine, and very delicious with swiss cheese, homemade hummus, roasted tomatoes, avocado, sprouts and wonderful seasoning on toasted wheat bread . My husband had the very cheesy grilled cheese sandwich with buttery perfectly done mac and cheese, and we also enjoyed two Big Daddy beers. Even their water is fruit infused. It takes a lot to impress me, and I am extremely impressed. I hope they offer soup in the winter, tomato soup would be yummy with grilled cheese, and more vegetarian options. Gluten free bread, such as offered by Food For Life, would be nice for the gluten sensitive. They have 'build your own sandwiches', and beer on draft. Very different and very gourmet, worth the extra price, the freshness really stands out. Nice mix of music, you could actually hear it, which seems to be rare nowadays. Nice selection of beers. We will be back. Went back today, had the garden sandwich, didn't think they could get better and it's my new favorite. ' [

Spread is okay. It is like a liquor (Beer and Wine) store that sells sandwiches. The hubs got The Duchess and really liked the flavor. He is a Chef and it is hard eating out with him as his standards are set to high for quality, menu selection and customer service. We were disappointed in the lack of sandwich options. They don't even offer Ham... After being opened for a year, you would think they would add a few more. Our bill was $33.00 for one sandwich, a beer, iced tea and a provolone sandwich (for the kid). Doubt we will be back but try for yourself.

I used to love love love coming here in the past. Unfortunately they recently raised prices and I cannot justify spending 15 dollars on a sandwich. That being said, if you are totally loaded and don't have issues with that sort of thing, their sandwiches are absolutely delicious. They are extremely fresh, homemade and innovative. Good luck! I am gonna miss this place!

My son and I had lunch at spread on Monday. It was our third visit. Mondays are mac 'n cheese days! We split the bacon and jalapeno version. It was terrific! I'm a southern girl and was raised on my grandmother's mac n' cheese and typically would never order it out anywhere. But this one sounded too good to refuse! So glad I didn't :) They have a great beer selection for dining in and to go. We would choose this over most any of the other restaurants on the block!

First off, I'm not really a "sandwich" kind of gal. Thats because I tear apart the bread like a 5 year old!!! Not to mention the mess I make. I like bread but usually just for dipping! So I have shared the Torta in the past and today I had the PBLT, WOW!!!!! So delicious! The bacon was so mouth watering and the greens were perfect, it was like a mini salad on the sandwich!! The chicken liver pate??? DELICIOUS!!!! I also got a Red Branch apricot cider to go! I got home and devoured my PBLT, didnt even leave a single piece of bread behind!! The roll/bread it was on was the perfect size, slim and it was toasted, major win!!! Thank you Spread! You guys rock!

From Page #1 of any respectable sandwich maker's manual: "Invest in quality bread". What this place serves, barely compares to what you might find in coach class on a domestic flight. Seriously. Bad. Gando+Bologna+Torta+Mac'n'cheese= $40 to go. 12 minutes later had to throw away half of the order as it became one soggy, tasteless mess. And mayo over prosciutto on the Gandolfini? Worst lunch in the past 3 years easily. Pretentiois, cold, borderline unpleasant attitudes, overpriced beers and painfully average food. Fool me once..

I'll have to agree w everyone on the Unkosher. If you're a fan of the Reuben at Max's Opera Cafe, this is the best comparison in the bay area so far. A tad small for the price, but overall worth it. Downside, doesn't include anything but a pickle spear. For a gourmet sandwich joint, they could include homemade seasoned chips - great way to add value on the cheap! Maybe next time :-). I'll def go back for the same and I def want to dry the mixed board as well as.the salumi choices. Check it out!

I expected nothing less from the sister store of Liquid Bread! Sandwiches are fantastic with a huge case of craft and draft beer to choose from, plus a fun little place to eat that's clean and inviting with awesome beer bottle light fixtures and fun shadowbox tables decorated with various coasters. Great friendly service each tie I've been, and am insanely impressed with the sandwiches plus the to die for mac n cheese. I loved the "Unkosher" & "Duchess" and my boyfriend refuses to give up his coveted "Torta" to try something new. Would I order the "Pho Sho" again? Phok yah!!! I don't think I can ever get sick of this place, it's pricier but worth it for the flavor combos. Doing take out with beer to go is a great deal too! (If you can hold your self back from eating it on the way home) One thing I really hope they add in the future is a nice creamy tomato soup for dipping.

Lets start with the positive: The people that work here are very nice and helpful. The service was fast and really good! However, I love love love sandwiches and the sandwich I had here I couldn't even finish. The spread was not good and all the tastes were very contrasting. I had a turkey sandwich with cranberries and roasted tomatoes and this weird tasting sauce-if you go just do NOT get this sandwich.

SANDWICHES + BEER + HEAVEN = SPREAD..... Awesome Owner! Beautiful Space... After my first bite of the Torta sandwich, my eyes teared up and Angels sang! YES.... Thank You Spread....

This place is excellent! The sandwiches are made with quality ingredients, and are delicious! They have so many great beers on tap and the service is great, very nice people....My new favorite place in Downtown Campbell, I can't stop thinking about going back! Try the Humpty Dumpty (egg salad sandwich) it is excellent!

This isn't your grandmother's sandwich shop. All your whiners' complaining about high prices seem to have forgotten that a typical sandwich costs about $7-$9, and all you get is meat, bread, and cheese in a lack-luster, no-name sandwich joint. Compare that slow-roasted pork and liver pate with a huge variety of gourmet and local cheeses - yeah, your going to pay more...because your getting MORE. Oh and how many sandwich shops have an excellent beer selection, mac and cheese (mac and cheese people - at a sandwich shop!) and a nice interior vibe? So stop whining and remember you get what you pay for, truly incredibly sandwiches, great people, awesome location and stellar beer.

definitely menu reads better than the actual execution. had a pork torta with a bunch of stuff on it. bland, boring. wife ordered a chef salad from the menu. misleading. chef salad traditionally has a variety of meats like ham and/or turkey, plus romaine, egg, tomatoes, cukes, etc. Chef salad at this place is defined as the 'daily salad'. daily salad ended up being a spinach-cheese glob-fruit chunk inedible mess. bleck! and no one ever asked why it wasn't eaten....sure sign of a place not paying attention to the details. also, for lunch, this place is pretty spendy. 3.50 for a small bag of chips? 5.50 for a lemonade? thought I was going to try their LGP place, but no thanks.

Every single sandwich save 2 have pork, bacon or ham. My only options were the Duchess with turkey and pastrami (I question whether the pastrami is the usual beef or pork) that left me with the Weedwhacker a vegetarian sandwich at $9 is highway robbery.

Its a great idea. Big sandwiches and specialty beers and soda's. However, the prices dont match the sandwiches. I got the Duchess & regular pastrami sandwich which was not impressive at all. They are very heavy on the aioli sauces so might need to go light on that. Maybe everything is organic and that is why the prices are so steep! haha That would make sense...

Same dudes that brought you Jack's Bar (a favorite hangout of mine) have brought you a kick ass sandwich and beer place. I had the turkey sandwich and Mac & Cheese. The turkey sandwich was delicious (the tomatoes, mustard, and bread were so damn good) and the Mac & Cheese (looked so good that the staff was taking pictures of it) looked and tasted amazing. The pot it came in even had a little mitten so you didn't burn yourself. When I saw the beer I nearly had a heart attack (like a kid in a candy store...full of beer). We had a few beers on tap and were not disappointed (the beers also prompted me to write this review. Coincidence?! Probably not.). The staff was excellent, friendly, and accommodating. I can't wait for their official grand opening and I highly recommend you go here. Give it a try. Now. Stop reading.

Just what downtown Campbell needed....a very good sandwich place with beer and wine so you can have a casual meal later in the day too. Excellent, succulent slow braised pork with sharp arugula and both a black bean and a chipotle spread, avocado and Citicorp cheese on a sweet roll. Hope they start having daily specials just to add a little spice to their very unique menu. Little pricey, should throw in a pickle or a small side of slaw?

Was a little hesitant to pay $8 for an egg salad sandwich but boy was it worth it! The egg salad was perfection with pickled celery and bites of bacon. I an thinking that next time I will add cheese and get it on marble rye. This won't be my everyday deli, I just can't pay that much for a sandwich and side of fruit, but for special sandwich occasions, Spread is the place to go!

Delicious sandwich!! The sandwich combos were a little too odd for my simple palette but my custom build was perfection. The staff were super friendly. The place was clean. FYI - Tons and tons of beer choices. I like. :)

The selection looks small at first but it's a well-curated group of beers. I tried a chocolatey stout and a sour beer. Both were deeeeeelish. I didn't have a chance to get the sandwiches but they looked so good. I was just staring at this dude's egg salad sandwich from across the room. Hope he didn't think I was creepin'. It's not often you seen an inch of egg salad in a sandwich. I even saw a couple paramedics stop by while on duty. I thought, of course paramedics would drink on the job. They're busy saving lives. But they were just there for the sandwiches. I... need... to... come... back.

I came here for lunch today with a group of colleagues, and was pretty happy with the place. Parking is not your friend in this area, but it's just as bad as everywhere else on the street. Ambiance: hipster chic with cute outdoor seating, graffiti style decor, etc. Reminded me of a Seattle artisan sandwich shop in style. You stand in line, grab your drink from one of many display fridges on your way up to the front of the line, pay, and then wait for them to call your name with your sandwich. It was a pretty warm day, but the inside was not much cooler than outside, if at all. Staff was a friendly and helpful. Timing: We were a big group and getting our orders to go, but even being towards the front of my line, it wasn't a "fast" turn around. Sandwiches are hand made, and take a bit longer than say Togos or Subway, but are definitely tastier, so worth the little extra time. They aren't slow, but they aren't fast. I wouldn't pick something up here if I were in a rush. Size/Cost: I ordered The Duchess, which was a really good sandwich, but not what I would consider an amazing sandwich. A decent amount of meat, produce seemed fresh, sauce seemed home made, taste was pretty good (when comparing to an artisan sandwich which I have higher expectations for than fast food type places), but the bread was both squishy/over wet in spots from sauce and semi-dry/stale everywhere else. The flavor of the bread was great, but texture, not so much. For $14 and some change for a sandwhich, I expected a little more wow factor, but I might just be spoiled by Ikes Love and Sandwhiches price to wow factor ratio being better. Size was pretty large, with some people in our group easily filling up on half, and others who ate the whole thing no problem. For reference, size was similar to Ikes. Overall, I'm a fan. This place was pretty good and I will probably come back if I'm in the area. It's just not a place I would go out of my way to go to. If the sandwich had a little more wow factor, or the price was a little better, or they had a catchy thing like free soft serve with every sandwich, I could see this place raising in my ranks. As is, it's good, but not great.

Only weird circumstances usually end up with me going to the same place two times within 3 days. With Spread, though...I'm not going to complain. I love sandwiches and I love beer. Came here for a Silicon Valley Beer Week event hosted by Sierra Nevada. Enjoyed the outdoor couches and fun beer challenge. Came here again during the Humboldt tap takeover (very cool, but surprised they didn't have anything from Lost Coast Brewing Co.) and tried food this time. Sammiches are pretty expensive...but...very yummy and indulgent. Fun selection of bottles you can buy to-go with a nice discount (currently 40%). Happy hour is a decent deal here, as well. Service has been friendly and attentive. To go order took kind of a while though. A fun place to people watch over a pint in Campbell.

This is a unique sandwich & drinks shop downtown Campbell. Parking is on the street, or around the corner in the public parking garage. There is some nice outdoor seating, they have a few tables outside and then these comfy couches you can lounge around in. I see families with kids there a lot, as well as adults with their dogs (though not a lot of room at all for a stroller inside, and bathroom is M/F shared with no changing table). The inside has high tables with the high seated chairs that go with them. The concept is more artisan sandwiches with a TON of unique beer options, and a limited variety of non-alcoholic beverages. They have a 40% off deal with beer if you take it to-go. If you aren't a big drinker, and you love those "around-the-world-beer" packs you can get at Cost Plus or wherever, then this is a fun place for you too because you will always find some new drink to be had. If you are a big drinker, this is a cosy place to get your drink on and you'll never tire of the options. They have a really decent vegetarian selection of sandwiches. On this occasion I tried the egg salad sandwich and the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The egg salad was really tasty, seasoned well and I could tell the eggs were fresh. Its so nice to get a flavorful egg salad and not get stuck with bland stuff. They do make the sandwich dry though, so if you want mustard or any other sauces on the bread just ask them to include it, they don't charge extra for that. The bread is lightly toasted but that didn't make it a cardboard piece of bread or one that scratches the roof of your mouth. I also tried their house made peanut butter and jelly. This one, I think I will pass on for the future. Its a bit pricey at $6, and it wasn't that robust for the money and was just ok. I think that for $6 they could pep this one up with apples or bananas or something.....and offer a kiddy version of it for cheaper (especially since families come here). I stopped by a second time today and got their "Angry Tuna" for my husband, and he *loved* this sandwich, so we will definitely come back. I had a nice enough experience to try out their other sandwiches I saw on the menu. This is a hand crafted, small sandwich place though - which means if you have ever been to Ike's you know what the wait is like. They have two sandwich makers mostly, and they are doing their fastest but each sandwich has a lot of components that takes time. If you are in a rush, CALL AHEAD for a to go order, because you will be bummed with the wait. All in all, pretty fun stuff. I'm glad they are in Campbell, they fit in and there isn't really anything like it in the area. I've always seen them busy so that is a great sign. Stop by if you have always passed and wondered, you won't regret it.

So it's been 2 years since my last review of this place and it has improved 10 fold!! New counter tops, new bar, new people and new food. The new bar and counter tops are perfect and you can sit at them comfortably now. Some of the new employees are amazing as well and know their beers. Ask for Dale and Hannah they both know their beers. Dale is the freakin beer master and can ask him anything and everything pertaining to the sudsy goodness. I'm am IPA fan but he knows about all beers. I try to come every Thursday night when he works. Sandwiches and beer are still amazing. They got rid of the mac n cheese and that's the only thing I'm sad about. If you haven't been yet GO!!!

This place is super cool because they have TONS of beers on tap as well as in the fridges - it's like a small version of the beer section at BevMo! The sandwiches are super creative combinations. So far I have tried: - Duchess - Weedwhacker - Humpty Dumpty - Turkey (on a sweet roll, with pesto added) Super delicious and hearty sandwiches with tons of meat added!

Spread seems unapologetically hipster. They have crazy anti-establishment sandwiches that, at least according to my four visits (so far) are just crazy enough to be unexpectedly delicious. On my first trip to Spread I had the Bologna sandwich. This ain't your first grader's Oscar Mayer bologna with American cheese on white bread. Far from it. This one has crispy mortadella, sharp cheddar, greens, tomato, special mustard, mayo, salt and vinegar chips on a killer sweet roll. I heard the crunch before I could taste the lunch. The sandwich was very dramatic and almost theatrical the way it enticed and turned a classic into a sophisticated and complicated variant. Fantastic. After a trio of the Bologna sandwiches, I went for the Boomer on my most recent visit. I love mushrooms, and the pairing of the meaty portobello with the crispy enoki mushrooms, plus goat cheese, arugula, tomatoes, pesto and balsamic - I didn't even think about it until later that the sandwich was vegetarian. My colleague raves about the Unkosher, and I think I've got a Duchess coming in my future. Spread isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for and this place is awesome. If I have one criticism it is that I didn't love Spread's egg salad because of all the mustard and dill. I prefer a simpler, more traditional (I know... boring) egg salad with egg, salt and mayo on good bread. Lettuce, tomato and sprouts are preferred but not required. There are plenty of other build my own and signature sandwich options to choose from.

Honestly, I'm not a yelper that usually tries out sandwich places. However, this place really stood out in Downtown Campbell. It had a hip vibe to it and the sandwiches looked delicious. I also liked that they had a comfy seating area outside. Anyways, I ordered the egg salad sandwich with sprouts. The sandwich was huge and was generously filled with egg salad. The creamy egg salad was extremely tasty and well seasoned. I love how it had tiny pieces of red onion in it! The salad and sprouts were very fresh and complimented the sandwich perfectly. I honestly could not have asked for a better sandwich! The only thing that would make Spread better is if they did half sandwich orders! The whole sandwich is crazy big and for a calorie counter like myself, it was deadly (in a good way though). It would be great if they had a half sandwich option! I'll be coming back again for sure! Love this place! xo

The only thing you need to know when you come here is to order the DUCHESS! It is seriously one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. It's packed with plenty of meat (turkey and pastrami), sprouts, tomatoes and a sweet bread bun that just brings everything all together. It's amazing. I've tried a few other sandwiches here like the weedwhacker and the one with portabello mushroom and they were nowhere near as good as the duchess. The prices are a bit high here.. About $13 for most of the specialty sandwiches so I only come here when my coworkers and I feel like we want to treat ourselves to a really good sandwich. There's a huge selection of craft beers which I can only stare at since unfortunately we only come for lunch and I gotta head back to the office and asian glow is a no go in the office. My coworkers def love this place though. Good sandwich and beer is always a happy Friday!

This is my favorite place in the area to grab and beer and a sandwich if I am hungry! The beer list is great and it is always changing, if I can't make up my mind I can always count on Dale to make a recommendation which will be spot on. For food, the Weed Wacker and Bologna(just a perfect sandwich!) are my go to. They have a great bar and seating area plus one of the better outdoor patios in Campbell. For beer, sandwiches and great people this is the place to be!

I like that they offer 3 beers for about $3, have rotating tap, but the prices seem pretty high for their sandwiches. my group tried out the meet and cheese plate and was able to share it. It was a nice array of fruit sauce, cheese, 2 meats, etc, but the price was quite high for what they provided. Great for grabbing some craft brew and hanging out! They also have a fridge full of bombers to take home or drink there.

Craft beers and sandwiches. Count me in! After 5pm everyday, they have happy hour on their beers. I ordered the Italian sandwich, which was also vegetarian and it had a balsamic reduction, fire roasted tomatoes, pesto, and a lot of other goodies. I gobbled that sucker up, plus a chocolate chip cookie. No regrets. And say "Hi" to Dale, he knows his craft beer!

    (4)
  • Pablo R.

Excellent beer selection, great sandwiches. The beers are primarily local or small brewery beers which can almost be called "craft" beers. I love their Belgian-type ales and the tuna and bacon sandwich. They also sell the craft beers (bottled) for you to take home, so if you come and try one and like it you can also stock up and take some home. I highly recommend it.

It's good, but it's not that good.. especially for what I'm paying. I got the duchess and I liked the flavors of the sauces but what it lacked was texture (specifically from veggies). It was just meat and sauce... I should've read more carefully and added veggies to my liking, but then again I would've had to pay an arm and leg for it. I bought two sandwiches, TWO SANDWICHES!! and paid $27. No sides, no drinks... no frills. How can a sandwich be so much? It's a sandwich for heavens sake! I can't justify it. Will I return? Probably not... I rather stack my sandwich at Safeway and call it a day.

4.5 stars! I'm here often so I thought I had already written a review. Spread is a great place to get rotating craft brews on tap in downtown Campbell. And what goes great with a nice cold refreshing beer? A nice big sandwich! Spread also makes some delicious sandwiches. Over the past couple of months, their sammie menu has changed, dropping some sandwiches and adding new ones - I guess they were figuring out which combos worked and which ones were more popular with customers. One of the first sandwiches I tried here was an Vietnamese banh mi inspired sandwich - that one was just all right - I remember the meat being slightly dry. But a couple months back, I came during a special event and they had a MAC AND CHEESE SANDWICH as one of the specials. It was AMAZING. It even had bacon in it. One of the best tasting and creative sandwiches I've ever had in my life. But I haven't seen it offered again as a special in awhile so I don't know if they still make it. It's certainly not on the regular menu. More recently, I tried The Duchess - the ingredients sounded delicious and the name was awesome. It has honey-roasted turkey AND beef pastrami (lots of protein!), cheddar, tomatoes, sprouts, and two kinds of aioli on a sweet roll. This sandwich is massive and oh so tasty. The turkey makes it a little dry, but with the other ingredients, it's yummy. And it's ginormous - I could only finish half and had to take the rest to go to eat for lunch the next day. Sandwiches are solid - but sometimes the meats are a little dry. Back to the beer! Like I said they've got a bunch of craft brews on tap (maybe 8 or so?) that rotate regularly. They also have tons of bottled beer from all kinds of breweries from all over in their refrigerator. The options can be overwhelming, but you can always ask the guys that work there for recommendations, based on what kind of beer you like. You can also sample the ones on tap if you're not sure if you'll like it. They've also got wine, if that's more your thing. The place is not big, but they have an outdoor seating area just in front of the establishment that faces Campbell Ave. You order at the counter and they give you an empty beer bottle with a number sticking out of it - they'll give you your beverage right away and they'll bring you your food order to you. There's a self-serve water station and there are TVs playing sports. This is a fun and chill place to get beer (or wine) and hang out - beer selection is awesome, great sandwiches, and the guys who work here are friendly.

I came here last night for the first time after constantly hearing about this place from a co-worker. I took my good friend out to dinner last night with her dog and this is what I thought! They have a pretty good selection of food. I made my own sandich with pastrami, pesto sauce, provolone cheese on a sweetroll, and it was really good! It was a tad pricey, but the quality was pretty good! My good friend got a vegetarian sandwich which was still stuffed with everything she wanted on wheat with pesto sauce as well. She got the lime soda they have there, and she wasn't too fond of that. The service however was very friendly and homey. Everyone was really nice! They also have a vast selection of beer! Some of which I don't see anywhere else! I was very impressed with their bottle beer selection! The place itself is also very clean and nice! We were outside with the dog on a comfy couch enjoying our dinner in comfort. They even gave us some water for dog! Overall; a nice place for a cute date or dinner/brunch. We both enjoyed ourselves very much!

The sandwiches were great but their signature sandwiches are pricey. There is a nice selection of beers and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the torta which consisted of their bread, black bean spread, avocado, cotija cheese, arugula, chipotle spread, and braised pork. It was a delicious sandwich and it was the best torta I have ever had. All the ingredients were nicely balanced, but maybe there is a little bit too much bread. The customer service is great, the food is great, but I am not sure if I would regularly pay that much for a sandwich.

It's 6PM on a Wednesday and we just woke up from a 3hr nap: I'm not sure exactly what just happened, but I'm groggy and slow like only a hefty pastrami reuben and lazy afternoon beer(s) can induce... We called in sick *cough*cough* for Sarah's birthday and started the shenanigans early by heading to this little bottle shoppe/deli for lunch, 1) because we still hadn't been there after a year, 2) their patio (and much of Campbell businesses) is dog-friendly, and 3) sammiches & beer, why not? Take THAT, adult responsibilities and career. Take that. We browsed over the short menu of signature sammiches and were paralyzed by choice; we'll definitely have to revisit sometime soon to try a few more - I need to get at that PBLT just for curiosity sake. The same indecision vexed us while staring at the tap list and bottle fridges. So much good stuff. menu: dipsomaniainc.com/downlo… I had the Unkosher (because I can't ever seem to pass up a rueben) while Sarah and R'quells went with arguably lighter fare of Humpty Dumpty and The Duchess. [Turns out, nope; all three sammiches we ordered are pretty hardy.] Some might think the prices are steep, but the sandwiches are substantial and really well composed - generous amount of fillings, tastily dressed, served on satisfyingly toasted bread, cut on the diagonal. Wrapped in deli paper, propped vertically and plated on aluminum(?) trays, these sandwiches are camera-ready. The UnKosher ($12.99: beef pastrami, swiss, sauerkraut, bacon russian dressing, on swirl rye w/house-made pickle) was delicious, heavy with moist, seasoned pastrami, tart kraut, and a touch of smoke from the bacon russian dressing. The house-made pickle helps cut some of the fattiness and refresh the taste buds. I probably could have stopped after eating half my sandwich, but no, because moar, gimme moar. The Duchess ($12.99: honey-roasted turkey breast, beef pastrami, sharp cheddar, roma tomato, sprouts, black garlic aioli, chipotle aioli, on sweet roll) - and I keep smirking because I'm sure it has to do with the animated show Archer - is a hot mess (in a good way), plied thick with both pastrami and turkey, tangy cheddar, and dripping, and i mean dripping, with aioli two-ways. The toasted sweet roll stands up to the liberal saucing, but mind not to eat over your lap or shoes or phone. Have napkins, will devour. Humpty Dumpty ($8.99: house-made egg salad, red onion, dill, roma tomato, subbed sprouts instead of mixed greens on sliced wheat) was collectively our favorite; like harkening back to childhood egg salad sammies, but next-level and paired with adult beverages. The egg salad is thankfully more egg and light on mayo, making for a denser filling, good contrast to crispy toasted bread and the crunch of red onion. Sarah subbed sprouts for the mixed greens, which added an earthy taste and texture. Egg salad, but grown and sexy. ("... grown and sexy"? I maybe need to get out more.) And, of course, the craftbeer options at Spread do not disappoint in the least; from the moment I heard about the concept, I knew Jordan & crew would bring their crafbeer A-game! The rotating taps and well-and-varied bottle selection should quench the cravings of most [whatever do you call craftbeer "enthusiasts" besides "drunks"]. There's a little bit of a premium for bottles enjoyed on the premises which makes things a bit pricey, but its a necessary markup. I would like to see a price list or labelling though - when you're like me and just grab/commit to things that look interesting, it can add up to a bit of sticker shock at the register. If you find a bottle you wanna try or have been looking for, the "40% off to-go" prices make take-aways a good deal if paying the "drink here" price is prohibitive. Plus the people and vibe at Spread is disarmingly friendly. Everyone from the cashier/beertender to the sammich-maker (is there a proper name for that? I know there is.) were cheery and attentive, asking us how our food was, making drink pairing suggestions, and even offering our dog some water. This spot at the end of Campbell Ave is prime for hanging out, daytime people-watching and probably fun in the evening, away from the dregs cavorting around downtown Campbell's seedier/douchier clubs & bars*. The next time I take an impromptu day-off and someone says food-coma/day-wasted in one breath, we're going to Spread for lunch! __________________________________________________ *but I don't venture into Campbell at night anymore; too many encounters with prejudice-leaning bro-y types.

3.5 STARS A small sandwich and beer place "sandwiched" between Aqui and Sonoma Chicken/Campbell Brewing, Spread has a decent list of tap brews and a very large multi-case bottled beer selection. I got the grilled cheese adding avocado and bacon into my sandwich and the final damage for that and a draft beer was about $16. Since they don't have a lot of seating here, it can get difficult to find an available seat during Farmers Markets or special events in the downtown area. Unlike the Liquid Bread gastropub sister restaurant down the street, the food is more affordable. It's nice to have a third option on this block of restaurants for craft beer. I don't always feel like drinking the Campbell Brewing beer options or having an Aqui Swirl or a margarita at Aqui. I will be stopping in here again to see their tap selection when I'm back in the area.

The food is decent, big sandwiches as they should be for the price. Plenty of beer to choose from to, be it on tap or bottled. Now everything else about this place... it is not kid friendly and only moderately good for groups, that is to say if you get there first and can take all the tables it'd work out nicely. There are two couch seating areas outside and the rest of the seating is inside bar tables and bar chairs; the tables are hipster approved but the chairs are so high off the ground it wont work for a young child. There is no food menu, when you walk in you may look around to be sure you're not in a bar but if you go to the register someone will make you a sandwich; unlike Subway these have less common combinations and ingredients.

Great service and recommendations. Great beer selection. Comfortable and relaxing seating, especially if you can snag a spot outside! The couches are great for a small group. Casual and chill atmosphere, and they have good ingredients that make for delicious sandwiches and salads. Very friendly for vegetarians and vegans because you can make your own sandwiches and salads. And make sure to try the Mac and Cheese if that's a favorite dish of yours! It can get crowded during the weekend lunchtime hour but otherwise a great stop for a casual dinner or lunchtime meal.

Pricey - especially the beer - which is 40% off to go Great infused (free) water - so if on a budget - no beet for you Service - slower that you'd think Sandwiches - AMAZING but expensive - try and settle on 1 to split with a friend. Mac and cheese - seriously might be the BEST mac and cheese I ever had! - Get it!!! Get there early on a Saturday (before 12:30) for great outdoor seating PBLT (house-made pate and BLT) Yummy - no skimping on the bacon The Uno, huge, different and asian-y flavored..more than you'd think YUM AND YUM, almost gave 5 stars - but $32 for 2 sandwiches 1 side of mac and cheese, that is a lot.

Best tuna sandwich I've ever had. The Angry Tuna had so much flavor from the sirachadijonmayo deliciousness happening + thick slabs of peppered bacon and fresh, crisp lettuce. Can't ask for much more.... Oh, except for perfectly melted sharp cheddar. :) Such a good sandwich, can't wait to try more! (+ beer, beer, beer. There are several choices of microbrews on draft and in bottles, or you can still have your 32oz of High Life...its pretty amazing.)

Best sandwich shop in town! Great beer selection, tap and bottled. Sandwiches have quality ingredients and are unique. Awesome place to chill, have a sandwich & beer, and watch some sports on tv. When placing my beer order staff was super friendly and offered me samples and made recommendations to make sure I liked what I selected. Was given a number, got seated, and food came out right away. Order: Beer of choice Kettle jolopeno chips The duchess sandwich with home made pickle The unkosher sandwich with egg salad I look forward to trying a different sandwich upon my return!

This place is great for what they serve... sandwiches!! I love their selection and options on toppings... they make your sandwiches fresh as you order and you have the option of building your own with all the specs that you ask for. The staff is incredibly friendly there and they offer suggestions on what sauces/cheeses go well with what you order. You also have the option of making your sandwich cold or hot. They also have beer AND wine on tap! They have bottled drinks as well and their selection is pretty large. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area!!

Never been much of a sandwich person but today I just devoured the best sandwich of my life. The PBLT was freaken amazing ! Super yummy house made chicken liver pate with generous slices of crispy peppered bacon, fresh mixed greens, Roma tomatoes and tartar sauce all laying in a warm toasted sweet roll. I also added some slices of turkey to it as well and my sandwich was seriously perfecto! Can't wait to come back to try their other sandwiches! Another added bonus to this place? They have a very wide unique selection of beers you most likely haven't had the chance to try until coming here! Pick one and enjoy it outside in their lounge area :)

Really good sandwiches but it operates like it's only been open a week. My group had a variety of sandwiches, including the bologna and The Duchess. Everything was really good. The meats were superb and the sandwiches were put together impeccably. The bread tasted a little dry to me to but it didn't detract much from high quality of the food. For the prices, you'd expect to get chips or at least a pickle with your sandwich. Nope. That's ok though because the sandwiches are so damn good. For the newcomer, there are a few quirks when you come into Spread that are worth noting. First of all, there is no visible menu so you will inevitably be behind a group of people holding up the line because they're staring at the menu. Also, if you're not drinking beer, note that the non-alcoholic drinks are in the cooler that is behind you when you're at the cash register...so basically everyone ordering at lunch will have to walk away from the register to get their drink and come back. Not the end of the world but a poor design. The service itself is friendly but slow. Obviously this isn't Jimmy Johns but the line moves insanely slow for a place that only sells about nine sandwiches. The guy next to us was waiting a really long time for his salad and had to complain before getting it. Our friend who ordered a tuna salad was finally delivered her salad but it had no tuna on it. Everyone was friendly but this felt like a place that had just opened and not a sandwich shop that has had a couple years to work out the kinks. Oh, the beer. It was just before noon so I was abstaining but the beer selection here kicked tremendous amounts of ass. I'm not sure if I'd ever go to a small sandwich place to drink high end micro brews but at least I know I could. The saving grace here is the food though. While I personally prefer Los Gatos Meats for the best sandwiches in the area, this is a pretty close second. I'll probably just order ahead and get everything to go next time.

Loads and loads of beer. Too bad I'm rarely a beer drinker... I stick to my Coors Lights for the most part. But the torta I got, oh, was heavenly. I'm not saying it's the best torta I've ever had - but it's the best Americanized torta I've ever had. The ones at Mexican restaurants/bakeries etc. reign supreme. I'm going to be back to try more of their sandwiches. They're very generous with the meats and there's lots of sauce and flavor. I love it! There was a huge wait when we came. It took 45 minutes to get our food because of the line - they weren't slow. Must be a popular place!

They took my favorite sandwich (The Gandolfini) off the menu! Another Gandolfini gone too soon. RIP For that they lose a star. Overall, tho, Campbell needed a place like this, and Spread delivered. A whole sandwich plus two sides (any combination of cole slaw, fruit, or mac & cheese) is always plenty enough to share with the gf. Throw in a beer or craft soda and it's a meal. *fingers crossed they'll resurrect Gandolfini*

I tried the Duchess Sandwich at Spread and while the sandwich looked incredibly amazing, I made the huge mistake of not checking what bread it was on. In my case it was on sweet roll.... Argh! I did not like the sweetness of the roll in addition to the honey roasted turkey, the sweetness of the combination seemed to overpower the pastrami and the aioli's to the extent that I decided to not finish my half of the sandwich. The service was good, they were pretty easy going and quick. I would return to give it another shot, perhaps check my sandwich ingredients beforehand and the result my be a delightful one.

Stumbled into this place while killing time.. after walking in and asking for help picking put a beer for my mom, I find out they don't even open for 30 min. SIENNA said it's no problem and proceeded to help us! She was lovely and the they have an amazing variety of beer and wine. We didn't eat but a lafy sat next to us eating a grilled cheese and I will definitely be getting that next time! Please check this place out. You will not be disappointed! Sienna is a peach!

2.5 stars for the sandwiches I tried, but rounding up to give them the benefit of doubt. I usually love fancy sandwiches, so was excited to read about the opening of Spread, especially after seeing their menu. My friend (thanks, Nic C.!) picked up sandwiches for me and the bf, and we tried: -Gandolfini (Salame, Prosciutto, Summer Sausage, Burrata, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Olive Spread, $10, yelp.com/biz_photos/spre… ): Blah, very salty, but not much flavor outside of the saltiness. The subtle taste of the burrata was lost under all the salt. All three us didn't like this, and I wouldn't order it again. -Torta (12 Hour Braised Pork, Black Bean Spread, Avocado, Cotija Cheese, Arugula, Chipotle Spread, $10, yelp.com/biz_photos/spre… ): Eh.. also not that great. The texture of the braised pork was too soft and gummy, and it seemed overcooked. I also thought this sandwich wasn't very flavorful aside from being salty. Skip! Although I didn't like the first two sandwiches I tried, the ingredients were fresh. Also, the other sandwiches on the menu seemed promising, so I'll have to come back to give those a try.

I've been to Spread too many times and never left a review... A. If you get the big cheese himself Charlie to help you then know you are getting decades of service handed to you and the man has charm and good business skills. B. If you are lucky enough to have little cheese Sienna create your sammich, expect to forever love that taste. She takes their menu and makes it amazing. C. Their entire staff know how to make your experience 100% satisfying. They actually have a creative team to cone up with amazing food we tale for granted. D. Beer. Beer and more beer!! If you like it on tap, they just added more options to please your palate. Seriously you can go here just for beer and leave astounded. Love the place, the people and the spread!

I've only had the Unkosher Sandwich It's pretty good but also very pricey @ over $14 with tax Sometimes it's huge and other times it's not (like literally half as much meat) so it's kind of hit and miss. I would have given 4 stars if preparation was more consistent Edit: OK, I think I'm done with this place. The first couple of times the sandwich was packed and the last two times they totally skimped on the meat. Sorry guys but for $14 for a sandwich it needs to be packed or it's just not worth it. See photos for comparison (and I didn't even take a photo of the skimpiest sandwich)

The first few times I went into Spread I was a very happy customer, ordering the Duchess, their fresh baked mac & cheese and one of their delightful beers was more than enough to put a smile on my face. However, this summer I have gone there a few times with my boyfriend and have been leaving rather disappointed. If you get to Spread a bit late, say 8 or so (they close at 9) they will surely be out of your favorites (like turkey). And for some reason the Duchess hasn't been as good as it usually is. I thought it was just me but my boyfriend agreed. They definitely need to work on being consistent with their sandwiches, and they should take the meat portions down a notch, cutting back would definitely help them feed more folk until close. The same night I went into Spread around 8 PM I was with family who was visiting from out of town. In total that night we spent about 75-80 dollars, I ordered the potato salad because they were out of the mac and cheese... that was A BIG MISTAKE, it was so disgusting. I asked my boyfriend if he could get me a pickle since my side was so bad and when he went to the sandwich maker to get one (asian gal with a bad half shaved head hairstyle and bad attitude) she totally wanted to charge him for the pickle! Reluctantly she gave him one for free, but I believe that's because they had a sudden rush and she couldn't move. It's like seriously??! You don't have half the menu and you want to charge someone for a pickle, even though some sandwiches have it on the side anyway??! I'll still keep coming to Spread I suppose, just not nearly as often and never in the evening.

Unkosher wins! Pastrami sliced super thin, melts in yo mouf! The bacon Russian dressing made this Reuben sammich. Love the variety of bottled beers, wine and beer in tap. The guys are super cool, great service! Bottled beers to go are 40%!

  • Brandon W.

Are the sandwiches prices somewhat obnoxiously high? Yes (I do the Italia with salami and my total with chips and no beer is over $16) Does the place have an entirely too hipster-ish vibe? Absolutely, but that beer selection would make anyone's wax fall off their beard from the drool. Will I be back? Oh yeah. While the prices are pretty high this is definitely the best sando place around.

This is super random but I love that they have a fresh fruit bowl with chili on the menu. Don't get me wrong, it's not ESSJ-style (unfortunately), but it hits the spot. Also love their local beer selection and wine on tap. So yummy. Must remember to return for their amazing "Reverse Happy Hour" - 5:30PM to close. Everyday. So cool. I see this place quickly becoming a Campbell Avenue favorite of mine.

Sometimes I meet a friend that works in the downtown Campbell area and we love to come to this place and enjoy trying the huge selection of beers they have. I was in the area so I was decided to go and get macaroni and cheese to go....I was craving it. But they don't carry it anymore! she said for the last 6 months they haven't carried it. I didn't realize that I hadn't been here longer than 6 months ago! I love their macaroni and cheese and potato salad and I was told that they don't offer it and have not for at least six months. How time flies! Very disappointing that they don't carry those 2 items anymore. I'm actually heart broken ! Please please with a cherry on top bring then back!

Best. Sandwiches. Ever. Super creative combinations! So far my favorite has been the PBLT and the Pho Sho. The Unkosher is a force to be reckoned with as well, as is the Torta (that one is super rich... we split it)... Their vegetarian offerings are also delicious, and I particularly like Da Garden... If you're an omnivore, I would suggest adding turkey and bacon to make it more hearty. Love the sides, as well.. particularly the crunchy, vinegary mayo-free cole slaw and the sliced fruit with lime and chile. Very refreshing. Fast, friendly service... great beers and I especially love their fruit infused water (cucumber... berry.. etc) after we ride our bikes over for lunch. Such a big fan of these guys... they're on our regular rotation.

Ive only been one time so far- and sadly I went on my lunch break so I was not able to dabble in the beer selection- though it all looked fantastic! My food however was swoon worthy! I ended up ordering the duchess (which is HUGE) and full of flavor! The staff was friendly, attentive and welcoming! I can absolutely see myself back here for a few brews and food too!

You haven't lived until you try this place out. I just had the PBLT and it was easily, one of the best sandwiches that I've EVER had! There was bacon for days with a very tasty chicken liver pate. I can't wait to come back later this week and try the other sandwiches. Be warned though that this place isn't cheap, but when you taste them, you will know why. Worth every penny! Located in downtown Campbell, but wait there is more awesomeness about this place. They serve beer and have a very nice selection of it as well. What a win-win!

Spread is a great addition to DT Campbell. Loved my PBLT (pate, bacon..you know the rest) Got to admit I was a bit cautious about the tarter but Charlie assured me that is was the bomb digity.. and it was! Bacon was thick and tasty, the chicken liver pate present but not to strong and the tarter sauce did it justice. We also ordered the Dutchess which was fantastic! I only got a bite, but plan to order it next time. Gave the Mac and cheese a go, not bad. Creamy, nice taste with some bread crumb on top served to you in a cast iron bowl. Oh how can I forget! They have over 200 beers to choose from. Don't worry, Charlie can help you there to. Space is small, all bar and high chair seating indoor. Great little out door patio to eat, drink and relax. Tip.. noticed it was popular around noon.. so you may want to phone order in your order. Enjoy!

The food is Amazing and delicious. Very creative sandwiches that keep you full all day.A little pricey, but worth it. This review is for the grumpy dude with the beard who works saturday afternoons. He should not be serving food to anyone with that attitude. I have eaten here a handful of times and every time this man is working, my experience is ruined by his snarky "you annoy the F*c& out of me" attitude. The food doesn't taste as good when he is there, and he usually finds a way to make you feel mad or embarrassed so I would advise you to pick somewhere else if you see him at the counter.

Needed a place to eat where we could sit outside with doggies, and we were in Campbell. I had Spread bookmarked for a while and decided we would check it out today for dinner. So - sandwiches. There are some more basic sandwiches and some more involved sandwiches. My gf had the regular BLT and I had the Saturday special Pastrami meatball sandwich. Both sandwiches were very good. Flavors nicely balanced and good portions. My only minor knock is that the bread, while just fine, is not outstanding in any way in my opinion. Would love to see them use bread from one of our fine Bay Area bakeries, but that's just my opinion. A nice handful of sides are available as well. We had the mac and cheese. Very tasty...a little wetter than I imagined but really good nonetheless. I am definitely getting this again next time. The other kicker here is the large selection of beer. Plenty of choices that should make any beer lover happy. A handful of outside seating is available as implied earlier. We did in fact share a table and a sofa with some other folks who had dogs as well. Nice option in case you have furry dining companions. We're moving into summer soon...get over to Spread and have a sandwich and a beer outside on the patio! You'll love it.

The BLT is still the best! But over the time I've been coming back here, I have noticed their customer service has been steadily declining. As tends to happen to these places, maybe they're on an ego trip now, since they have all these nice yelp reviews. For instance, I was quoted 20 minutes recently to make my BLT. Really? No thanks, I cancelled my order. People don't go to sandwich shops to wait that long for their sandwich. They will go to a nicer, sit-down place for that. Their sandwiches aren't THAT good. Also, forget about finding a place to sit outside anymore, because there usually have been big "Reserved" signs for all but one table when I have been there at various different days and times. And to top it all off, they charge 10 cents for to-go bags. I'm sorry, I didn't think the bag ordinance applied to food establishments. Sadly, I think I've had my last BLT from here.

I LOVE this place. So many great beers to choose from on tap and in bottles, though a bit spendy. The sandwiches are well worth the wait and humongous. My favorite keeps changing names but it's got pork tenderloin, pork belly, pickled veggies and sri racha. I can eat that one every day for some time and be happy. Every single employee is super-friendly, ready to talk about the beer or sandwiches and always give great service. Yes the beer is spendy, but the infused water is free and you can take beer home to go at 45% less. Well worth it.

A sad case of a potentially awesome place that was a ruined experience because of a rude and lazy employee. Had an AMAZING lunch at Liquid Gastro Pub down the street from Spread and when we got our receipt, at the bottom it said $2 off a beer today if you use it at one of their sister restaurants Spread, Grapevine or Jacks. What a pleasant surprise to know they were owned by the same person because we had been to Grapevine and Jacks and enjoyed those places as well. We walked over to Spread right after and when my fiancée tried to use the $2 off coupon, the employee with the black hair and large black beard never looked at the receipt and just said "Sorry, you can't use it on the same day." My fiancée didn't think twice and paid full price. When he came to the table and told me what happened, I said that is wrong - we specifically came here because of what the receipt said! Before we had a chance to go back inside the employee came out and snootily said "By the way, I read the receipt and its only valid for Jacks and Grapevine" and walked away. I went red in the face and became livid because I knew that wasn't true. So we dug out our receipt and sure enough the receipt said Spread, Grapevine and Jacks. When my fiancée showed him in black and white what the receipt said, the employee grudgingly gave him $2 without so much as a sorry. SO, we never ordered food because we already had a bad taste about this place. The $2 off is SUCH a great marketing tool! Too bad this one person is causing the opposite effect of what it is supposed to be doing which is gain new customers. Instead of inviting us to enjoy our time at Spread and give us $2 off, thus gaining customers for life, you instead were a stubborn lazy cheapskate who just lost 2 customers for life and will never recommend Spread either. So disappointing.

This particular location in downtown Campbell has never done particularly well but I have a feeling that times are a'changing. This deli style spot has it going on with artisanal sandwich selections and many craft ales, cider & wine. I shared the gandolfini with my man and was not disappointed. (It had me at buratta). The bread was soft and pillowy on the outside but still perfectly toasted on the inside. The slices of meat on the inside were sliced thinly and tasted great. The sides are also not to miss. The macaroni & chees was tender and creamy, the way it should be and tasted homemade without a drop of artificial cheese. We also ordered the potato salad which was chunky and tasty.

I dig it. I didn't have one of the specialty amazing sammies on the menu. I just wasn't that hungry. But they had phenomenal beer knowledge. And I applauded the grilled cheese, bacon, sprout sandwich I craved/I invented/they made. Well worth the try, I look forward to heading back to try the other amazing things i have heard about on the menu.

There's only 3 things in life that I need: money, tasty drinks and a whole lotta sammies. I was so sure that I would have two "firsts" this week and Spread would be the second. Darn you, Marlon! Nevertheless, if there's one thing that Campbell was desperately in need of it was a deli. The peninsula is stacked with them, and we're left with sorry excuses for sandwich shoppes (with the exception of one in WG). Call me old fashioned, but I like unique spots - not chains. Spread delivered, right on day 1 of their soft open. DAY 1! Upon walking in, I was immediately greeted and given the run down of how everything works. Including that their 216 bottled beers wouldn't be able to be taken home with anyone for the next couple weeks, but in store was okay. They also have a bunch of beers on tap. There are 9 solid sandwiches all creatively named & crafted on the menu. I enjoyed the Gandolfini. It's definitely on the smaller scale of what you're used to - but damn it, I like it. I'm not eating for 2, ya know? It's filled with coppa, prosciutto, sopressata, burrata, and olive spread - just bursting with flavor. I'll definitely eat this again -- but there ARE 8 others to work my way through. They also have a few sides that look tempting, and I might very well try out tomorrow. Yeah, I said it - back to back action. In addition to the sandwiches and sides (like mac'n cheese, [not your average] fruit salad, and potato salad), they have charcuterie and cheese boards to choose from. Once the cash register is up and running (it was a bit slow, but totally understandable), this will absolutely be a go to spot for lunch. Spread the love, they do.

My go to place for craft beer! The guys who work here are knowledgeable! They always have a good recommendation! Even tho they offer a discount for beer to go, I feel it's still pricy. Whatevs tho! I like to try new stuff. I took home barrel beer! That's a new concept so I'll give it a try!

Really solid sandwiches with some great, innovative flavors. Got the "Unkosher" which was a delicious stack of meat (aka my favorite). Also ordered the side of mac 'n cheese and I LOVED it. I'm particularly picky about mac n cheese so it was THAT good. :) They had a TON of beer (both bottled and on tap) which I will be trying out the next time I come here. It was a little overwhelming for our first visit there. They got super busy after the farmers market started to wind down so the wait for sandwiches was a little long - I totally get that they were overwhelmed with people, but I was starving so it made me hangry (hungry angry, it's a thing).

If you know Katz deli or bierkraft in NYC, you'll feel right at home. Huge delicious sandwiches and a massive bottle and draft beer selection. Share a sandwich or take half home unless you want to take a nap these a rich and well worth the price.

11 bucks for a sammich? Hell, I'll take two!! Not that I could finish two though. These things were big and gourmet! This is a place for people that enjoy and appreciate great food. You don't come here for a bologna sandwich and a PBR or Keystone. This is a place to enjoy the ambiance, the many different bottled beers, the great food and whatever company you bring. I had the "Dutchess" sandwich and an IPA. Turkey and pastrami with cheddar, tomato, sprouts and just the right amount of chipotle and garlic aoili to get the flavor but not be super messy. On the way out we thanked the guys for great sandwiches and headed out. As we got home we realized that Bailey had forgotten her Raybans!!! We called the store and they were holding them for us! talk about good karma :) We will definitely be going back

The boyfriend and I had been attempting to find a place within biking distance that sold my favorite cider. According to Tap Hunter, Spread did in fact carry it. We noticed that their hours said open until 5 pm, so we made a beeline for this place since we were starving and basically drooling over the food images on Yelp. We got here at 4:16. We were greeted by a grumpy looking man who instantly stated "the kitchen is closed and we have alcohol for another 6 minutes". No smile. No apology. Not even a hello. No...friendliness. Awesome first impression. I now understand that it's a gastropub, but my first impression thanks to the images was that it was a deli with great alcohol choices. Had I known they close the kitchen (I assume) an hour before posted close, I wouldn't have walked in. Honestly, I'll just keep hunting for my favorite cider elsewhere. I really don't see myself coming back here to give it a second chance. First impressions go a long way; this impression is that they really didn't want us to come back when it was more convenient for them. No worries, folks. There are plenty of other delicious places in downtown Campbell to check out.

Get any sandwich sans bun in a salad! The egg salad was creamy and whipped with fresh dill. The texture was perfect with firm egg whites, all the same size, cut into 1/2 inch cubes. I wondered if the mayonnaise they used was house made. I chopped up part of my pickle and added it in there for some zing. The slow cooked pork was surprisingly good, pulled and roasted like carnitas. Bottled craft beer here too.

Good beer. Killer Happy hour and stupidly tasty sandwiches. Everyone here is welcoming and always happy to help guide you through their menu. They've made some changes to the menu it looks like, but some of the faves are still there and remixed a bit. The beer selection is almost endless and they always have some fancy craft brews on tap, which btw take advantage of their happy hour. I think it's like a buck or two off the drafts until closing on weekdays. you may want to call and check though. The TV's are smaller and the patio has a "back yard" feel to it, very communal. Good spot to relax, drink a brew, munch on a sandwich on a nice summer day.

If you want a one of a kind sandwich, Spread is the place to go! I came here about a year ago with my boyfriend and was skeptical when he said it was "gourmet sandwiches" and my first thought was that he just wanted the beer they offered. I ordered a Dutchess, and it was by far the best sandwich i've ever had. The bread was delicious and it wasn't messy to eat, even though it was a huge sandwich. I've also tried one of their specials and unfortunately i don't remember what it was called. Either way it was yummy in my tummy. Also definitely try the mac n cheese! It's quite hot when it comes out of the oven but after it's cooled down, its delicious. The crunchy topping and all the stuff you can add in, is quite awesome! Oh of course, beer with anything is always the best!

We are new to town and found this area full of restaurants. I had their angry tuna and a side of "Asian" slaw and was surprise that the total be 15.99 so thought to myself that it better be very good sandwiches. It came out to be very good and portion is generous. It's not like transitional tuna but a bit spicy. I took one star out cuz it's just a bit pricy for a sandwiches but will come back.

My first time here I have to say... I over ordered... I couldn't help myself! Everything sounded so good! And it was! Had the pho sandwich, Mac and cheese potato salad and the fruit salad! Friend got the pblt (pâté bacon lettuce and tomato) not my kinna sandwich but even that was good Flavors were there they put their own twist to things and they don't skimp out on you. Super friendly staff as well also got a great beer selection on tap and bottle but I didn't get one but I wish I did now For sure will return! The food is to good to not come back to
