Great real and freshly made Mexican food. Best chili relleno I've had for a long time you can tell they make them from scratch. I usually go there with just two people but it would be a great place for big groups. And if you don't like Mexican they have a big variety gringo things like spaghetti to Philly cheese steak sandwiches. Steve C Foothills Yuma

I'll make this short and to the point. If you want Mexican food you're better off going somewhere else. I ordered the chili verde burrito and it was one the worst meals I've ever had. I took one bite and put the rest in the garbage. The flavors tasted nothing like chili verde or anything Mexican for that matter. The owner should be embarrassed to serve that kind of food. I think it's safe to say that Taco Bell would be a better option.

Stopped here because there are always lots of cars...not an accurate gauge of quality of food. Enchilada sauce tasted like it was straight out of a can. So if you really like Mexican food, DONT eat here.

Caters to SnowBird rich seniors (from nothern states) that spend their winters in Yuma! BLAND, mushy and over-priced 'Mexican' food in skimpy portions. Offers American foods that are just as tasteless and overcooked as their 'Mexican' foods. Notice any good reviews on this site?...they're from SnowBird seniors who don't know quality Mexican food or who go to this place for the 2.00 CRAP breakfast or 5.00 crap dinners offered to draw seniors so they buy the alcohol. This foothills eatery (along with its' co-owned eaters, Foothills Restaurant/Foothills Spirits Eatery just down the street) closes in summer - does not serve the year-round citizens like many other Foothills restaurants do. Both eateries treat their employees poorly and the severly underpaid waitresses take it out on the customers. The former owner and his relative (now owner) know how to make fast $$$$'s... just serve the wealthy SnowBirds. Just 12 miles away (fast drive down I-8), in Yuma, is Mi Ranchito and Tacos Mi Rancho... authentic Mexican food, great quality for you $ and open year round to serve ALL citizens :)

One of the worst Mexican meals ever! Cold food with no flavor, stale tortilla chips, my taquitos were covered in red sauce with commercial guacamole and the salsa tasted like V-8 juice lacking heat and texture. Our simple lunch for two was also very expensive! We left and made lunch at home.

Caters to seasonal Snowbird Winter Visitors who can afford to spend lots of $'s dining out- Closes in the summer and does not serve year=round citizens. There are many other Foothills restaurants who stay open year-round to serve ALL citizens so the excuse 'can't afford to stay open year-round' does not fly : i.e. DaBoyz, Rob's Grill; Donut Corral; Bernardo's; Denny's; DayBreakers; Mr Fish & Chips; Country Cafe; Rose's Cafe, Dairy Queen etc. Mi Fajita Food taste and quality ranges from... 'meh' to 'yuk' - the free chips are the best-tasting 'food' there. Over-priced foods and the menu selection proves the owner/s do not focus on quality 'Mexican' cuisine as they offer other items to appease the Snowbirds.

It is a shame they call this a Mexican restaurant the salsa wasn't any good I had a chicken fajita with zero seasoning my wife had a taco salad again with no seasoning the margarita was so sweet it was hard to drink I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody I give it a 1 and that's being generous

Waitress asked how my breakfast was and I stated fine except for the pieces of eggshell in my omelet. She was professional but the owner came out and basically called me a liar. "We strain the eggs through a strainer so what you are saying is impossible." I was not going to complain at all until the waitress asked how everything was! This owner is a tool and the food was not to standards. Very bland and only caters to snowbirds.

We had dinner there last night. Very good service but that didn't make up for the food. Fajitas were bland. Rice was from box from food city and canned beans. Tasted like cheese was souring. Won't be back.

Well it's sad to say this place is a one star venue but it really is. It's got all the charm or an old Pizza Hut that's been abandoned and then reclaimed by a Mexican place except there are no Mexicans that work there. I ordered Carne asada tacos. They came with the wrong shells (the receipt even said "HARD" but they were soft), the Carne was of questionable origin and it sure as hell wasn't "asada." There was no flavor or seasoning to it at all. It was like they chopped up some beef and cooked it in a greasy frying pan. My girlfriend had a veggie quesadilla which consisted mostly of grease and little flavor. The chips weren't bad but the salsa was simply awful; definitely not fresh and no hint of vegetables in it. There wasn't really any spice to it. Even with a lot of salt it was basically just there to wet the chips. The reason it gets a star at all is the margaritas. They tasted like sugary limeade with a little booze, but for being decently sized and only $1 it's hard to complain about that. I recommend this place if you have no taste buds and want indigestion.

Loved it, third time here. The owner is on stand by at all times which I really agree with. The salsa is alright but ask for the spicier option and it's great. The spinach enchilada is a must have and the fried ice cream is great. They need to bring back the .99 margaritas but 2.99 is still cheap. I will return for sure

99 cent Margaritas were good. Taco salad was good. No ground beef burritos. Complimentary salsa is a joke. It is tomato juice with a bit of green and spice in it. Chips were good. Fish dinner was all you can eat and it was good. Sour cream tasted like plastic on my taco salad. A clean and warm environment. Staff was quick.

One of the best places in town to get breakfast! I love how they have breakfast specials for people who like to eat light in the mornings!

OK, as a local, I try to enjoy as many local restaurants as possible. You know, the non franchise places. My wife and I LOVE Mexican food. We are from the San Diego area originally and know good Mexican food. We are also great cooks and can make really great Mexican food. Like most folks, we also enjoy eating out. We try Mi Fajita every year to see if and how much they have improved. We went last night and were again disappointed. The waiter was great. He had energy and quickly took our order. He came back to the table enough times to check on us and how we were doing. I ordered a beef taco, chicken enchilada and a chili verde burrito. It came with rice and beans but the plate was too small for that much food and it all ran together making it hard to enjoy each item individually. My wife order a cheese enchilada, tamale and a chile relleno. The chili relleno was great according to her but the other items were bland and lack too much to mention. She also ordered a side of guacamole. It must have bee one of those package mixes. It was runny and lacked flavor. My food also lacked any flavor and seemed to be package like in texture. Mi Fajita is a good restaurant for those out of towners who want to try Mexican food so they can brag to friend back home that they did so, I don't believe Mi Fajita is a restaurant for anyone who like REAL Mexican food. Will we go back again? Yes, as I said, we go every year to see if they've improved. We'll keep our fingers crossed for next year.

This restaurant doesn't even deserve one star... it was easily the worst Mexican food I've had in my life. My boyfriend and I decided to stop in Yuma for dinner on our way to San Diego. We went on Trip Advisor and saw that Mi Fajita was rated the #1 place to eat in Yuma, so we figured, why not? The restaurant itself is very... eh, tacky. But, we weren't going to judge the food by the ambiance of the restaurant so we got a table. Our server was very friendly and we did get quick service, however, I think our food came so fast because it had been cooked hours before and they just nuked it in the microwave for us! We both ordered the chimichanga (with chicken) plate... and it was DISGUSTING. The dough was mushy, the meat was literally mystery meat... and to top it off, it was $13, however, we did get fried ice cream with our meal with was average tasting. To top it off, we both felt veeerrrrry sick for about 6 hours after our meal, probably from the meat or food prep being not up to par. If you're in Yuma and looking for a place to grab some food, save the $30 you'd spend here and go to the Fry's or Olive Garden. Seriously.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
