Simple awesome pizza. Better than the chains by a long shot! Cheese was fresh and gooey! Fast friendly delivery would definitely be calling again!

I'm not going to lie, living in San Diego does make it much more difficult to find decent restaurants while visiting other cities. With that said, probably even harder to find comparable places in Yuma. With that said, Da Boyz isn't too bad. They have one near me in SD but I've never been so I was a little anxious to try this one out while visiting family in Yuma. The wait was about 20-25 minutes on a Friday night which is to be expected considering that it was the start of the weekend and it was one of the few pizza places in Yuma. We ordered bread-sticks, cheesy bread and a large Chicken Alfredo Pizza with pepperoni instead of chicken (should I still even refer to it as Chicken Alfredo?). The bread-sticks turned out great, considering they are...well...bread-sticks. The cheesy bread was definitely overcooked and very crispy which killed a decent amount of the flavor. The Alfredo Pizza really didn't look like much and I regretted not getting extra toppings on it but I was still pleasantly surprised when I bit into it. It still had a decent flavor due to the Alfredo sauce that was put into it. The pizza wasn't too greasy, which was nice. I always end up taking a paper towel to pizza and just soaking up excess grease but this one had minimal excess which definitely makes it go down easier. I can't comment on the service personally but it was "okay" I suppose, my brother went in and picked up the pizza while I sat in the car and he said the personality of the individual getting him the pizza was pretty brash and lackluster but who am I to judge? I wasn't there. Anyway, for one of the few pizza places in Yuma, this place isn't too bad. It's not the best pizza I have ever had but it is the only pizza I have had in Yuma and it still got the job done.

In town for the week and found this place driving through town. Ordered the hot homemade sausage sandwich. It was absolutely delicious. Restaurant has beer on tap. Good prices. $2 a glass, $8 a pitcher. Gave a review of 2 stars because the young lady behind the counter needed a better attitude initially. She came around and was nice. All the other girls were polite, respectful and beautiful. Took for ever to get the sandwiches. Thank God they have beer to drink while you're waiting. I will be back next time To see if the young lady is in a better mood and the service improves when I'm in Yuma.

I used to really like this place, but the last few times I've eaten here I've felt pretty sick afterward. My wife got food poisoning here and refuses to go back. I try it again about every 6 months but it keeps going downhill. Probably won't be going back again unless they sell the business to people who care a little more.

There was a time when I would tell you the pizza is the best I ever ate. Then they changed the recipe. It's still better than the big box pizza places.

Sixty dollars for food poisoning, add the rude response from the manager once reported, and instead of getting my money back, top it all off with a fifteen dollar gift card. Fifteen dollar food poisoning anyone? Oh, and did I mention how aged their lettuce in the back is? Overheard their professional servers joking about it. Never again.

Just recently coming from California I was uncertain about this place after reading the reviews but I was craving pizza and would rather support local than the big chain gang. We ordered the bbqs chicken and I must say it was probably the best I have had in a while. Also the hot wings were not all fatty like most of the wings from the slave farms where the chickens have kankles and no muscle. I would definitely give this place another go.

It was not busy when we went there. There was a hostess stand outside but no one was there so we went in, got menus and sat at a clean table. We waited awkwardly for someone to come take our orders. Finally had to ask and were told to order at the counter. Had to wait at the counter for someone to come take the order. We waited a long time for our food to come. There were more people that came into order and had to stand at the counter and wait to order. I counter three people walk through the counter look at the customers and walk by them without saying a word. Also saw three of the kitchen staff come out of the kitchen to refill their soda. For the restaurant not being that busy it seems like service should have been so much more. We waited 35 min for two pizzas and an order of bread sticks. Pizza was okay. Nothing special. Breadsticks were inedible and burnt. We turned the breadsticks over to confirm we were tasting. Two waitresses looked at them upside down but never acknowledged us.

We are visitors, spending a weekend in Yuma. The kids wanted pizza and we didn't want the national chain brands. While we were a bit hesitate about this pizza joint because of the mixed reviews, it turned out to be ok. The place is nicely decorated and spacious. The staff were friendly. We ordered pepperoni pizza, hotwings, and lasana. No one complained. The pizza was cheesy and hot. The soft drinks are bottomless. I won't say it's one of the best but it's decent and we would definitely come back again.

Sorely disappointed with the service! So much so that we decided to leave after "Jamie" acted like it was a chore to take our order. Having been in marketing for 17 years, owning a company myself & working hard to establish my business reputation I've learned that when people want to spend their hard earned money on my service I should treat them with respect. Hopefully Jamie will learn that quality soon!

This is the best pizza in Yuma. If you're looking for pizza that actually has taste get it here. The cheesy bread wasn't the best but the pizza made up for it.

This says they close at 10pm... That's a lie. They close at 9pm according to the lady at the register. When I walked in at 9:07 the lady was extremely rude and told me the ovens were already off. I would never come back here. I have never received such terrible service in my first 30 seconds walking into a restaurant. Awful. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Applebee's just made $300 that this place lost out on.

Not sure why there is a low rating...it is by far the best pizza in yuma; including the downtown as well. I think the pizza is wonderful, one downfall is that sometimes they over sauce the pizza.

    (4)
  • Chelsea B.

This is the only pizza we order as it is better than the other options available to us however my pizza always comes like warm and it's fairly bland. The downtown location is much better.

Well, it was busy for a Saturday night, and pizza sounded good. We sat down, only to finally figure out that we needed to order at the counter. That was awkward. The beer is cheap, and the pizza was decent/OK/not bad. We ordered an antipasto salad for three, and it came out in a really tall, but not large, bowl so that the top was all antipasti items, and the bottom was all iceberg lettuce. FAIL. Service was spotty, and we really couldn't figure out how to tip when you order at a counter yet you (sort of) get service. We would have drunk more than one beer water and soda each if we had had better service. But were we supposed to even have service? Confused. The prices seemed high for a counter service restaurant too. Will we go back when in Yuma? Maybe, but I doubt it.

My family and I have eaten at the Da Boyz on Main Street several times and each visit has been a pleasurable experience. We happened to be in the Foothills area so decided to try this one out. Upon entering I immediately was unimpressed. It does not have a nice mellow, relaxing kind of setting like the Main Street location. It is wide open... basically a small café with a medium sized TV and a table or two outside. My wife asked about the chicken ziti w/alfredo sauce (which we have had before at the aforementioned other location) and were told they only had fettuccini and spaghetti; no ziti, rotini, rigatoni, etc. I ordered a large pepperoni/cheese pizza and we had a couple drinks. My wife and I split a small salad. The bill was roughly $37. Our food was brought out in a timely fashion and the staff were attentive and friendly even though they were barely in their 20s. The chicken alfredo my wife had was NOT the same dish served at the other location. It tasted bland and lifeless. The grilled chicken looked like it was straight out of a Grilled Tyson Chicken bag from the freezer. I know this intimately because we eat that about 3-4 times a week and the taste/texture is unmistakable. To be fair, the Caesar salad was ample and delicious. Pretty much the perfect size for a quick lunch. My pizza was thin and floppy. The other location has much better pizza with thicker crust and a "beefier" feel to it. The fountain drinks were so-so; the Mountain Dew was delicious however the Diet Coke (Pepsi?) was about 30% flat. Do not make the mistake of thinking that this is the same restaurant as is downtown- it is not. Drive the extra 10-15 minutes and have the true Da Boyz experience.

The menu doesn't have a vast selection; pizza, sandwiches and calzones. It's americanized Italian food but it does the job and gets the craving out of the way. The food is good and consistent. They have a few salads on the menu that are a nice size. I believe they make all their dressings in house. The italian dressing is delicious. I've had cheesy potato soup which I'll never order again because it was way too salty. The calzones are good and the pizza is okay. I always ask them to make it crispy because it tends to get soggy. They've never messed up our delivery or take out which is nice. They offer a ton of coupons and I don't believe we ever pay menu price for anything because of it. Overall convenience keeps me coming back.

  • Christopher B.

Not impressed. The pizza is decent (at best), the service is slow, and the seating is very cramped (you can hear everyone's conversation). The only real positives are that this is a convenient location in the Foothills and that the beers are cheap.

They used cotto salami in the salami and provolone sandwich It tasted like fried bologna. Definitely not worth $8.99. Overpriced.

I've been a patron of this restaurant in the foothills on and off for several years. The service goes up and down depending on the staff. My recent visits to the restaurant in 2014 have been fairly good for the most part. Sometimes, I don't quite get the same results with a sandwich but it really depends on who's working in the back. Fortunately, the attitude of the front people is currently pretty good.

My name is David and I am a pizzaholic. Very surprized. I had lower expectations. I give these guys a solid 4 stars. Great place for pizza. I ordered a vegetarian. It was awesome! Bath rooms very clean! Service is a little slow, but it's one of those places that is worth the wait.

  • Daniel M.

Mediocre pizza that really insn't much better than the chains around. Other food is the same as well. Overall it's nothing that special and doesn't really have the feel of a local pizza shop.

After eating lunch at the restaurant, my family and I waited for the check to arrive. After 10 minutes of waiting I walked up to the front counter to pay the bill. The woman that took my cash was so rude and offensive to me that I would never set foot in that restaurant again, no matter how the food tasted. Turns out that she was the owner. She was totally out of line.

The food is excellent and the downtown store has a great comfortable environment. The food at the Fortuna location is just as good but has a cold strip mall environment. I guess that is the difference between strip malls and an old brick building in downtown. The trip to town on date night is worth it. But either location you'll find friendly staff and great food.

Had the Caesar salad the chicken came out of a bag! I asked what it was from the manager as I told her it was not fully cooked, she told me to order it heated the next time ? There will be no next time! To many good restaurants in yuma.

Great option for good Italian food! Healthy portions at a decent price. Tasty dishes but wish they had just a bit more variety and service and be a bit slow when it gets busy. The Supreme and Hawaiian Pizzas were yummy, other dishes are hit or miss. Not the best Italian, but an option when you want something a but more traditional. I would love to give it a better score because of its great location and comfortable setting but I just wasn't that impressed with the food. I'll give it another shot next time I get hungry in the area...

I would say this is the best Pizza place in the Foothills. I really enjoy their pizza. We usually call in an order then take it out. They put a ton of cheese on the pizza which is great! I have also tried their other food items which are not great. Stick to the pizza. The only time I went in it did take a while to get our food. Which is a pain when u have 3 kids. But they did have little animal shaped plates which the kids liked. I got up to ask for straws and the lady in charge was very apologetic and gave the girl working a dirty look and said, 'I'm sorry you had to get up to get this.' I felt bad for the girl, then noticed her hair and felt even worse for her.

  • Sandra B.

The place sucked with a capital "S!" We ordered two subs for a total of $19 out the door! The service was horrible, the girl was young and clueless! The sandwiches had one sliver of meat & one slice of cheese. They were over stuffed with lettuce one slice of tomatoe, & lots of onions. The bread was doughy & tasteless. It tasted like a lettuce sandwich. We should have kmown better when we opened the bag and found a container of vinegar salad dressing! We will NEVER return & we should have taken a match to our $19 instead! We would have had a better experience!!!

Good Pizza, decent prices too. Even with all the tables full, the servers had my wife and i seated within 5 minutes of arriving. I had the "South of Da Border" pizza which was an interesting combo of jalapenio, beef, olives, and onions. The beef seemed a little over cooked but the over all product was pretty good. Da Boyz offers a lot of variety and i'd definitely reccomend it to anyone.

We heard it was good, and we were satisfied. My husband and I each had an individual sausage pizza, mine thin crust. Both delicious, sausage spicey, yum. Service was excellent, waitfolks cheerful, price right in there. We'll go back. We were felt welcome there not like alot of other resturants around town. And Clean!

Traveling back home from San Diego a couple of years ago we stumbled upon one of the best pizzas and it's in Yuma, AZ of all places...ever since the first time we tried their pizza we always plan a trip to Da Boys if we're driving through Yuma...Da Hot Wing pizza - mozzarella, spicy chicken & buffalo wing sauce and the Da Works - mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, fresh mushrooms, olives, onions, green pepper, Canadian bacon add jalapenos are two of our favorites..and my wife swears by the Lasagna...we like the pizza so much we always order one to take home (4 hours to Tucson)..If your anywhere near Yuma it is defiantly worth stopping for the pizza & pasta!

  • Albert H.

Much less hip than the downtown location. Rather clean/sterile feel to it - order at the counter, get number, sit down, etc. I was a bit miffed that the breadstick "tomato sauce" was laced with meat, though the breadsticks were fairly good. Pizza crust was similar to Little Caesar's without all the cornmeal, or maybe the old Domino's style. Pizza sauce did have a bit of canned character to it. Not sure if there's a better option nearby.

  • Lety L.

This particular location is just average. The food is decent, the place clean, and the noise on the quiet side. One of the few places to eat in the Foothills. However, if you're looking for the atmosphere, visit their downtown location instead!

  • Eric S.

I'd have to say as far as pizza goes, there is better out there. The crust is superb though. If Pizza Hut, or Round Table would pick up their crust recipe, they could change their pizza into the best ever. Other ingredients are all so-so.

My favorite pizza in Yuma so far. Excellent crust. It is thin yet doughy and delicious. I recommend the BBQ chicken pizza. Good salads too.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
