This sweet spot was a delight on the last day of our road trip to seven states from San Diego. French toast, egg, 2 bacon or sausage $4 for kiddos - makes perfect sense! 8 oz sirloin Steak, poached eggs, hashbrowns and toast $9 Kaman Sausage Breakfast my hubby LOVED! Simple food - nothing fancy but done right. Bacon crisp, steak cooked to my MR order and coffee hot. The place was packed on a Friday morning at 8 a.m. with waiting list. We'll stop in again next time we head anywhere east of Yuma :)

Brownie's is located in Yuma on the I-8 that leads to San Diego. While eating here I felt a little bit like I stepped into the breakfast/cafe version of Cheers... where everyone knows each other and throws out jokes / friendly jabs from around the room. But not in a bad, exclusionary way. Everyone was nice, welcoming, and the waitresses were incredibly sweet. The coffee wasn't too bad and the food is exactly as I would expect from a 1950s style diner that serves and all day stick-to-your-ribs kind of breakfast. Also, because Yuma is so close to the border, there were quite a few Mexican rice-beans-salsa-tortilla breakfast options available.

This is a no frills, hole in the wall, traditional American breakfast place. Just a place to get some regular eggs, bacon, pancake, sausages, hash browns, etc. I've passed by this place many times and I really couldn't even tell if this place was still in business or not since the outside looks so run down. The building and the "Brownie's" sign makes it look like the place is abandoned or out of business, but don't be fooled, it's still up and running and it dishes out a good traditional breakfast too!

This place is a Yuma breakfast staple. I have been numerous times. They have homemade corn beef hash. This time I tried the local Kaman sausage with eggs. It's fantastic sausage it reminds me of homemade sausages in Europe. Hash browns are average. Service is always good. Parking is right on the side. If you want try something unique in Yuma go and get the sausage or the corn beef hash.

Service was AWESOME! She was a real sweetheart and took great care of us! Food was great the steak and eggs was cooked perfectly I just wish the steak has a little more flavor but I can't complain it was great. I would go back and enjoy a meal here anytime!

Great little spot with a home town feel. Stopped of the way to San Diego, like most Zonies this is the halfway point where we need a good leg stretch and breakfast/lunch break. Good selection of both, nice diner feel and great service. Will definitely come back here again!

The good and service was great! The last time I are here was about 15 years ago when I first moved to Yuma. My boyfriend suggested it and I'm happy we need. I wished they had more healthy menu options, but the homemade taste was worth the not eating too healthy. Will definately be coming back.

Sitting here right now, worst cup of coffee in my life. I wonder if the owner has tasted the coffee?? That's the MAIN thing people look forward to in the morning. Quit being a cheap ass and make good coffee!

The service is great. Staff is friendly. The food is normal diner food specializing in breakfast. If the old school diner ok to go in your work clothes type place suits you then you can't go wrong with brownies. P.S. Sausage is great.

I've been twice with my family for breakfast and both times were great.

Amazingly delicious! Very friendly staff, super nice and accommodating. Had breakfast for three: 2 adults and our 2 yr old toddler. We ALL devoured out breakfast!! My corned beef hash was homemade, not the canned stuff, hubby's chicken fried steak was okay and the baby ate just about every bite of her scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and hash browns. Hope to make it back again soon on our way to/from Tucson to San Diego :)

Always like to stop here while in town. Just a "good ol' boys" type of Café....Lots of good food, smiles and your "always welcome" feeling when you step in. The place has been around for 40 some odd years......so that says a lot right there. The owner is a "John Wayne" type of guy. Yep, nice stop......

Came in based on yelp.. Looks like a local hangout. Like the other reviews said, nothing special about the ambiance unless you like old diner type. Food was fine. Coffee was good. Service was quick. Staff was attentive and friendly. Nothing off the charts, but a good solid diner with a following. May hit it again next time rolling through town. Plenty of tables and about 15 seats at the bar.

Nothing special. Decor had not been updated in some time. Small portions. You will see everyone that is important in yuma though. A very local place. Everyone is very nice.

Great service, fabulous coffee. Reasonably priced breakfast. My new favorite spot! My coffee was never less than half full and the employees are genuinely happy.

I had to visit Yuma for a wedding , small town not much to do and hardly any good restaurants here but this diner was a good find. The service was good and the fiid was even better.

We use to go here for lunch. At first it was very good. Then after time it got worse. The food is not good anymore, and service is bad. Try a different place to eat.

Such a great breakfast! Coffee is amazing and I don't like coffee at restaurants normally. I tried the chorizo and eggs with hash browns. Great flavor and plenty of food for breakfast. Staff was great. They greeted me as soon as I came in and the service was awesome. Kept my coffee full and regularly checked in. Now that the snow birds are leaving it has slowed down. Locals get in here and appreciate the relaxed atmosphere. The owner sits in the back and keeps an eye on everything. Telling great stories and obviously loves his restaurant.

I eat here about once a month. If you are looking for glitz and funny names for breakfast food, the you need to go to IHop. If you want really good food, at reasonable prices, then this is the place for you. You can get Kammonn Sausage here (a local favorite). Your coffee cup will never run dry. This down home cooking and you don't have to clean the dishes afterwards. I have tried pretty much everything on the menu. Everything has been good. I have not been here for lunch. There are a lot of choices in Yuma for breakfast and the locals tend to end up at Brownie's quite often. It is easy to get to from the Interstate if you are traveling through on I 8. There is both booth and table seating.

Had breakfast here this morning. Not a bad little place and the food was good. Staff was very friendly too.

Great food! Yelp did not let us down again. Food tasted great and service was good too. Coffee pot looked like coffee would taste like old office brew but was really good, and your cup will always be full!!

Been here about 3 or 4 times. Nothing fancy about Brownies, seems like it's been here since forever and maybe that's what's so appealing about the place. The food is good, staff is warm and friendly. I highly recommend you check out Brownies next time you're in Yuma.

That this place had a 4.5 star rating baffles me. Eggs were watery, sausage was McDonaldsesque and our waitress was rubbing ointment of some kind on another crying waitress in the food prep area. I hope she washed her hands before she brought our food. I will be packing snacks so as not to have to stop and eat in Yuma en route to San Diego...

This place was amazing!! Found it on yelp. It is a real home grown dinner. The best part about this place is the food-nothing fancy, just good home made American food done right. The eggs were nice and fluffy, the pancakes and bacon were on point. I've never eaten so much in my life. One of the best breakfast places I have ever been too. Only downside was the waiters and waitresses didn't come around as much to check on you. The whole staff is friendly it's just they don't come back to for a good long while to check on you.

Both the sausage and corn beef hash were wonderful. Their homemade salsa was tasty too. Amazed at how fast their service is. They are definitely a well oiled machine.

Terrible. 70's decor, unfriendly staff and awful food. Everything is bland and overcooked. Don't know how anyone could like ths place. Low class, low budget, low quality.

Awesome food. Relaxing atmosphere. But everytime I come, the food preparation is VERY slow. Regardless, I still come back often.

Had a great time here during my last visit to Yuma. Wonderful service and a delicious waffle with strawberries!!! I will return any time I am in Yuma and recommend this place to anyone who is traveling through!

Omg, I can't believe that no one reviewed my favorite place to eat breakfast at when I'm in Yuma! I think this place is where the locals go. They have the best waffles & their sausages are homemade. Nothing fancy, just good food. It's like a small town coffee shop/diner. The prices are really good as well. I must admit I feel a little awkward when I'm in there because I stick out like a sore thumb. But the people keep to themselves, are polite, and they get you on your way. It's a must try at least once.

The definition of comfort food. Outstanding homemade sausages. The liver and onions was excellent. The soup was very good--vegetable beef. Eggs and hashbrowns great. Baked potato good, string beans not as good Overall a great place to eat in Yuma.

This place is AWSOME for breakfast, as its the only meal i have had here! Talk about a home cooked meal, well at least that's the feel you get from this place. Service is ALWAYS great every time I have gone and with a friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, great food for a low price. What is there to complain about?

Very, typical, low budget, small town breakfast lunch place, full of older folks, locals and more than a few with really, really big waist lines. Not a place for health foods. But I wanted a good ol' 'merican style breakfast and had the 3 sausage and 2 eggs over medium with hash brown potatoes, toast and jelly, coffee and a OJ. It was well prepared and the hash browns were tasty. Coffee and OJ were good. Typical (in the 60's and 70's)"pre-buttered (probably with a big brush), thin, flimsy, white bread toast and choice of only apple or grape jelly. (.30 extra for other bread options) It brought back memories of a diner I used to have breakfast at when I was in college... only with less ambience. My wife only wanted a bagel (fat chance) settled for an english muffin and coffee. The waitress was not friendly. Kind of a "what do want and why are you here anyhow" type of attitude. The place was busy... just goes to show... "different strokes for different folks." We won't be back, but from all the people there they won't miss us.

This Restaurant is a Favorite among Local and Tourists. I have been to Brownie's for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Their Breakfast is Spectacular. The Waffles, Pancakes, and the Homemade Sausage are just a few of the items that will make keep You coming back for more. The Wait Staff is Friendly and Efficient. It's a great place to meet with Friends and Family. Worth the Drive all the way from San Diego, CA.

I wish I could give this place a one-star review because the 5 star reviews are so out of line with reality. But whatever. It's an ok place. It's better than IHOP.

Classic, old-school diner, with waitresses that have been working there for YEARS. Has funny things like the 'Diet Plate' with tomato slices and cottage cheese. Like I said, old-school, as in 50s, 60s. We decided to roll with it and get classic burgers, fries, and soda. It was good. Not spectacular, but good, and friendly, quick service.
