Locally owned gem. From the moment we walked in it was wonderful. We were but a couple of weary travelers in need of damn fine Mexican food and Mi Pueblo definitely delivered! ig: 2guys1camper

Quaint little family ran restaurant. Traveling from out of state and was on the hunt for Mexican food. Yelp's map function has this restaurant at the opposite end of the road (be warned), they are across from the Best Western Hotel. Warm greeting and really, really good food! Fast service too! Thanks!

If you stop in Winslow eat here. It is a small family run restaurant. This kind of place is getting more difficult to find every day. The food is Home made from family receipes the green chili is great. Also order at least one chili relleno off the ala carte selections. It is a fresh grilled green chili with a simple egg batter, delicious. Easy to find north side of I40 across from the Best Western Exit 255.

We stopped here after driving most of the day and were pleasantly surprised. The chips arrived at the table warm and promptly. The hot sauce was very good. I went so far as to purchase some to take home. They accommodated my special requests without much trouble. The rest of my family ordered straight from the menu. My teenage son said his pork burrito enchilada style was the best he'd ever had. That's some compliment! I ordered sides of the red and green sauces for my cubes of grilled steak and was charged 2$ each. I thought that was a bit excessive but was not clear before ordering. Being gluten and grain free I ate neither. I would definitely would eat here again.

This place is fantastic - We stopped in Winslow for the night on a cross country trip and were not expecting much along the lines of food. This place was across the street from our hotel and we were surprised how great it was. We ordered a ton of food (pork enchiladas and pork gorditas were our favorite) and couldn't have been happier. Highly recommend this place if you're heading through Winslow - both food and staff were excellent.

We were very tired from driving and simply wanted some casual, cheap food. Mi Pueblo was across the street from the Best Western. We walked over and just relaxed. Our server was attentive, very friendly and quite pleasant. We immediately got some warm chips and flavorful salsa. After receiving our nice cold bottled beers we ordered dinner. All the portions were huge and the prices very reasonable . The "tacos de lengua" (4) were well prepared and quite tasty while the "platillo Mexicano" could feed a small army. We were more than satisfied. This is a down home inexpensive, homey restaurant. Nothing fancy but quite fulfilling.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
