Great place to stop when you're just driving through on a roadtrip because you can stand at the tasting bar, order food and not be sitting. I called ahead and they said they serve their tapas menu all day until they close at 5:30pm. The woman holding down the fort is a bit abrupt, like maybe she grew up on the East Coast or something but is understandable because she seems to be the only one here doing everything.

The wife and I drove from Phoenix to do some Willcox wine tasting. This one is good and the wine tasting girl (Ariana) was very polite and helpful.

This was our last stop of the day of wine tasting in Wilcox. This is a very large and sophisticated tasting room in comparison to the others, located on an old golf course. They are beautiful grounds, with picturesque vines as far as the eye can see. It is located near the 1-10 and there is plenty of parking. They have a large tasting room, gift shop and a tapas restaurant (one of the only food options in Wilcox). But since we picnicked earlier in the day, we just came for the wine. With the AZ Wine Travel Card ($20), we were able to get 50% off tastings. We also had our own glasses so we saved $2, although they give you the best glasses, large stemless glasses. I started tasting with whites, and enjoyed the Chardonnay. However, the real winner was the Sangiovese- we took home a few bottles. We also tasted the sparkling wine, noted as carbonated wine, which was light and pleasant. So we got a bottle of that too! Overall, one of the better stops in Wilcox.

We came to Coronado Vineyards on a LivingSocial deal. We would have come without the added incentive of glasses + tasting flight+ bottle of wine + tapas which was included in the deal, but it never hurts to save a bit. The tasting room was pretty full- my only complaint about this place is that service is somewhat slow (this time as well as on past visits). When a staff member does come over though, they are always friendly, knowledgeable, and talkative. The woman helping us was very accommodating and even walked with us outside to the vines so we could get some group photos. Thank you! This was our first time trying food- we had the lobster cakes with chipotle sauce and the dates stuffed with cream cheese/wrapped in jalapeno bacon. Both were super yum. There were 4-5 pieces on each plate, so we were able to share (we came in a group of 4). I like this vineyard because they have a wide variety of wines to sample-Riesling to heavy reds to desert wines. They may not all suite your fancy, but hey, that's what a tasting flight is for. A pretty safe bet is the Two Heads Red.

This past weekend (8/27-28) was the fifth annual Grape Stomp festival, with wine tasting, live music and grape stomping for the ridiculously low price of $10. Ten little dollars got you all this and a commemorative glass in some of the most beautiful country in our great state. This was the secondary reason for our trip to Willcox, but turned out to be our primary reason for wanting to return. This darling vineyard offered six wine samples of 100% Arizona-grown grapes (the red wine grapes came from Coronado Vineyards while the whites came from another vineyard not too far away). The grapes are sent to a place in New Mexico where they are turned into the nectar of the gods. We found some of our favorites and picked up a bottle to enjoy out in the grass while The Grind performed on stage. Set to the backdrop of stunning mountains, this alone was worth the 3.5 hour drive. Initially, I was going to grant the vineyard four stars: one member of their staff was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, while a newer employee didn't know basic questions, didn't take the initiative to find out answers and was completely inconsistent with her pours. But the end product makes up for this little incompetence. The three of us ended up splitting a case, which awarded us four bottles each of great wine at 10% off. We also have a reason the head back to Willcox each year they hold their grape stomp. Because pretending your Lucille Ball or that reporter on youtube who fell off the stomping platform only adds to the enjoyment.

I hate leaving a two star review, but our experience was not the best. My first impression was that the grounds and building were very well maintained. The main door was really interesting and I wanted to take it home with me. The lobby, bar, restaurant and bathroom are nicely decorated. I felt right at home and wanted to hang out for a while. My two friends and I were not greeted upon our arrival, so we wandered in looking for someone. As it was just noon there were only a few customers in the bar. They advised us that there was only one employee covering everything as they'd had a big wedding the night before. Okayyyyyyy..... one employee? Who's doing the cooking? Eventually an harried employee did come in with a cheese plate for one of the tables. That table did include children, so I was a bit confused as to what age requirements there are for vineyards. But it didn't really matter. I was just surprised. After perusing the menu we decided to sit in the main room which was VERY comfy and made for hanging out. There were several couches, assorted chairs and tables. It was very neat and clean, with a lovely view out double doors to the gazebo where the wedding had been held. Then we waited. And waited some more. Eventually a another employee did show up and asked us what we would like to order. We would have ordered wine, but no one gave us any type of a list or asked us about our preferences. As we were hungry and Yelp showed 4.5 stars, we decided to order from the tapas menu. Tapas dishes are some of our favorites usually. We ordered the artichoke dip which was really tasty. Sadly, the remainder of the dishes did not live up to the first one. We also ordered a flat bread pizza and one of our party compared it to a cheap freezer brand. With the pecan chicken skewers we expected a larger piece of chicken skewered and served with a sauce. The 5 skewers e were the shape of small corn dogs rolled in crushed pecans and about as long as my forefinger. They weren't bad, but there wasn't much flavor either. I did eat two, but honestly .... and I hate to say this, but the flavor was similar to a chicken nugget that my kids used to love. We also ordered the crab cakes. When they were served I thought the presentation was really nice. They were each the size of a half dollar. We each took one onto our plate, lifted a bit to our mouth and promptly spit it back out. They were SO fishy. Luckily, before paying the bill our server asked us how everything was and we told her the crab cakes were simply inedible for us. She did not charge us for them, which I thought showed great customer service. I'm hoping that because it was very early in the day that they'd had a new cook on duty who didn't make things right. I'd hate to think that other Yelpers raved about food that was just so-so to us. Of course, we're all from the Pacific NW and have been spoiled by great food, so maybe this is great food for small town Arizona. If you are interested, please do try this vineyard out. The two staff that were there when we left were very nice. I liked the ambience of the place and just wish the food had lived up to the reviews. If the food is normally delicious then I'd recommend you go and try for yourself.

I thought I had written a review of Coronado Vineyards after the Luau months ago. It was a wine tasting with a Luau theme. They mixed their wines with tropical juices. I tried everything and visited with as many people as I could while my DH staked out a table in the dinner room for us. Not to worry DH is a great designated driver. The Luau was our 2nd trip to grape farm. I was new to YELPING when we went the 1st time and I put my thoughts in the "Quick Tip". The 1st time we didn't eat but this time we did, with the main goal of not eating POI. They didn't have any Poi. We had a tropical chicken salad that was just the time for the wine/juice tasting. The staff was just as friendly and entertaining as the 1st time even though it was a lot busier than the 1st time we blew in to Wilcox. I'm going 4 stars this time because we paid the same $ as last time but the wine was mixed with juice. But then have you seen the price of juice?

I was very excited to visit this place and relax after a long day of picking apples. After walking through the front door we were told that it was to close to closing to seat us. Didn't even make it out of the foyer. Really poor hospitality. I guess I'll just get back on the road for the 3 hour drive back to Scottsdale with a Hungary family.

I hoped this would be the highlight of our Wilcox wine tasting experience, but it ended up being a dismal disappointment. The winery was understaffed who appeared overwhelmed from the aftermath of their annual Grape Stomp festival. I was holding out for their advertised tapas - the ones that were supposed to be "available all day." On the contrary, they ran out everything except for the so-called cheese plate, which was nothing more than glorified lunchables. My husband actually preferred the lunchables. At this point, I'm thinking "Perhaps the wine will make up for the experience" . . . it didn't.

Good wines at a fair price. This little gem is nestled away a short drive down a dirt road. Beautiful view of the mountains and vines on the property. Most bottles were $13-17 range and delicious. The wine tasting was nice and we walked away with two bottles for later. We were pleasantly surprised to find good young wines in Arizona. The "Two Headed Red" was our favorite. We will be back sometime soon to try the tapas restaurant/ lounge.

Driving through from Phoenix to Texas and stopped for the second year in a row to taste and buy some to take home. TheReisling is delightfully light, fruity and refreshing on a hot summer day. I could keep sipping on it a long time. The vineyard is situated on an old golf course and has a four wine blend named "Fore" which is is also good and a great gift for your golf buddies. Open everyday, the gift shop even has some cute wine related t-shirts. The restrooms are clean and the staff was very helpful and courteous.

Stopped in Willcox on our way from California to Kansas. What a great surprise in a not so great town. The manager/waitress was terrific. She was very informative about the menu and the winery. The wines are very good. We were able to sample a variety before choosing which we would drink with dinner. The prime rib special that night was excellent. The parmesan Ono with a mango salsa was well worth the trip. This was by far, the best dinner we had on our entire trip to Wichita and back.

A must stop if you're in the area. If you're driving through, stop in to explore the wonderful gift shop and grab a couple bottles to go. Or if you're able to stay, do the wine tasting and grab a cheese plate to be enjoyed in the beautiful tasting room or expansive patio. If you have even more time, be sure to have dinner or brunch in the adjoining restaurant. Although be sure to check their site for dining hours as I think the restaurant is only open on weekends. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the wine is really good and helping put Arizona wines on the map. The Two Heads Red (a red blend) is my favorite or if you're into sparkling wines be sure to try the Dolce Veritas. A little sweet but perfect for summer afternoons. Another plus, the bottles range in price from $10-$20 and there is no up charge to enjoy them in the restaurant.

As I've mentioned in other Willcox reviews, this is a very strange food community. There are basically a few very odd and sub-par local restaurants, one food wagon that's surprisingly good, and then this kind of up-scale winery based restaurant. The food here is good, the prices not unreasonable, and the chef/owner Zach quite friendly in a somewhat hyper sort of way. But the place just adds to the mystery of Willcox food. How does this place survive? It's off the beaten track in Willcox in kind of a failed exurbia ranchette sort of neighborhood and Willcox, itself is already off the beaten track. You arrive at a huge gravel parking lot, eerily empty when we arrived (maybe they accommodate large weddings?), and make your way to a kind of mean looking door that feels more like somebody's back door than an entry to a nice restaurant. Inside, is a LOT of space without a lot of cohsesiveness or aesthetic touches (I'm an architect, so I notice these things). The dining room feels like a converted living room looking out on the back yard of a wine hobbyist (maybe that's what this is?). The service was fine, but everybody just seemed distracted and tired (from the other jobs they have to support this place?). If you've read many of my reviews, I love local, non-chain restaurants, and I can forgive a lot of aesthetics in places that aren't trying to hard on that count. But this place is trying to be an upscale, winery/dining experience so the lack of finish and polish stands out. So, in the "town cuisine forgot" this is a nice, if not perfect, addition. The food was good and ample -- certainly the best we've found in Willcox. So if you happen to be there, or passing by. Give it a try.
