Don't tell my Mom! This is the best fried chicken I've ever eaten!! Not a better place to eat than Chuck's Stage stop in all of southwest Arizona. If I could sum up this small little restaurant in this small little town: Home cookin'. I visit Arizona about 3 weeks out of the year at separate times, and I eat out a lot during this time. So I've been to a few places and I'm working on getting to all the good joints. I do get to work close to Wellton out in the fields near there so I spent 4 days going to lunch there. Absolutely fantastic food, exactly what I look for in a dive. My first impression of the place was not good. I was sort of drug here by a coworker, who's opinion I don't really trust. Not great curb appeal, and the inside decoration is unique to say the least. But I look for 'dives', and those places that don't fit the 'mold'. And I'll warn you, after you look at the menu, you won't feel much better. You can tell the owners didn't invest a lot in the marketing of their menu. This establishment is owned/operated by a sweet old couple, Chuck & Mary. And they have put a lot of love into this place and it's recipes. After the 4th visit we really got to know them and I got to experience how much they cared about people and good food. I had their burgers, hand-battered catfish, a Reuben sandwich with homemade sauerkraut, and of course their fried chicken. Dang, it's just what the doctor ordered. Give it a chance, anytime you are heading down 8 from Yuma to Phoenix. P.S. I didn't even get a change to have their pizza or cinnamon rolls yet - apparently they are the bomb. That Mary is a great baker - her fresh bread is incredible. A real diamond in the rough - if you are ever in Yuma, drive over the mountain pass - it's worth it!

We stopped on our way home to Yuma to eat and wait a bit so we didn't have to drive into the sun. I chose the hand- breaded catfish with mashed red potatoes and celery soup as my sides. The soup was fresh and hot and the catfish portion covered half the plate! The potatoes were nice, too. My husband decided on the pork chops with the potatoes and a salad. He ate every morsel of the salad and potatoes and even chewed the bones of the chops! We were given a loaf of homemade bread which was warm and soft. There was a nice selection of desserts but we refrained this time. Our server was pleasant and efficient. The owner, Chuck, came out to ask about our food and again when we were leaving to tell us about the memorabilia. There is a model of the Butterfield Stagecoach inside the restaurant to remind us there's history here. It's a welcoming place we recommend.

Stopped here 20 minutes before they closed due to summer hours and they stayed open for us. Food was great. Chicken was outstanding! No pizzeria in the summer but enough on the menu to choose from and everyone was happy. Can't get fresher fish out here, I'm guessing. Water tastes different than home. Otherwise, it would have been 5-stars.

My boss and I were driving through town and wanted a quick bite. We stumbled across Chuck's by chance. The steak sandwich was tender and flavorful. Service was quick and the prices were cheap. My boss enjoyed her reuben as well. If you are passing through Yuma and need a place to stop for a meal, Chuck's should definitely be a consideration.

We stopped here on our way to Tempe with a few friends. Great little home cookin' place with lots of fun western decorations. Staff was sweet and food was good, had the pork chops, pizza sandwich and a regular pizza (benefitting the local Antelope High School) - all yummy. Glad we stopped there and the only regret is that we didn't take our leftover loaf of bread! Ugggghhhh! They bake it there. We were full but duh, we should've saved it for later....

There were 6 of us who found this place by accident. We loved it and went back 3 times! They make their own bread and pizza crust. We had a fabulous jalapeno burger and twice had the best pizza we have had in some time. Friendly owners. Nice decor, very cute in a cowboy sense. We will definitely come back next year when we are in town again.

We were in town for a sand drag race. We went to Chuck because they had a flyer at the hotel. It sounded like something we might like. Well, the waitress was great and the food was good. I did not care for the bread pudding though. We ordered a bunch of pizzas to take to the track.. They were done fast and very inexpensive. Definately gonna stop in again, if we are ever in that area.
