This is a great little campground/RV Park in the country east of Yuma. Stayed there last winter and plan to stay again in January. Nice clean pool and new laundry plus good little restaurant. I wish the restaurant was open in the evenings but understand that the fellow who runs this needs to spend time with his family too. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.
Small dining area call for reservations if you have more than six. Fantastic food great service just a cool little cafe in the desert near a mobile home / RV park. Easy on and off freeway lots of RV and truck parking. Only 5 minutes from Fortuna foothills Yuma Arizona well worth the drive.
Don't tell my Mom! This is the best fried chicken I've ever eaten!! Not a better place to eat than Chuck's Stage stop in all of southwest Arizona. If I could sum up this small little restaurant in this small little town: Home cookin'. I visit Arizona about 3 weeks out of the year at separate times, and I eat out a lot during this time. So I've been to a few places and I'm working on getting to all the good joints. I do get to work close to Wellton out in the fields near there so I spent 4 days going to lunch there. Absolutely fantastic food, exactly what I look for in a dive. My first impression of the place was not good. I was sort of drug here by a coworker, who's opinion I don't really trust. Not great curb appeal, and the inside decoration is unique to say the least. But I look for 'dives', and those places that don't fit the 'mold'. And I'll warn you, after you look at the menu, you won't feel much better. You can tell the owners didn't invest a lot in the marketing of their menu. This establishment is owned/operated by a sweet old couple, Chuck & Mary. And they have put a lot of love into this place and it's recipes. After the 4th visit we really got to know them and I got to experience how much they cared about people and good food. I had their burgers, hand-battered catfish, a Reuben sandwich with homemade sauerkraut, and of course their fried chicken. Dang, it's just what the doctor ordered. Give it a chance, anytime you are heading down 8 from Yuma to Phoenix. P.S. I didn't even get a change to have their pizza or cinnamon rolls yet - apparently they are the bomb. That Mary is a great baker - her fresh bread is incredible. A real diamond in the rough - if you are ever in Yuma, drive over the mountain pass - it's worth it!
We stopped on our way home to Yuma to eat and wait a bit so we didn't have to drive into the sun. I chose the hand- breaded catfish with mashed red potatoes and celery soup as my sides. The soup was fresh and hot and the catfish portion covered half the plate! The potatoes were nice, too. My husband decided on the pork chops with the potatoes and a salad. He ate every morsel of the salad and potatoes and even chewed the bones of the chops! We were given a loaf of homemade bread which was warm and soft. There was a nice selection of desserts but we refrained this time. Our server was pleasant and efficient. The owner, Chuck, came out to ask about our food and again when we were leaving to tell us about the memorabilia. There is a model of the Butterfield Stagecoach inside the restaurant to remind us there's history here. It's a welcoming place we recommend.
Stopped here 20 minutes before they closed due to summer hours and they stayed open for us. Food was great. Chicken was outstanding! No pizzeria in the summer but enough on the menu to choose from and everyone was happy. Can't get fresher fish out here, I'm guessing. Water tastes different than home. Otherwise, it would have been 5-stars.
I looooove the pizza here. Very friendly staff. I'm from Cali and I would say this is the best pizza I've had.
Ate here on an overnight stop on our way between national parks. Had the sweet & spicy pizza (Canadian bacon, pineapple and jalapeño) and some sweet BBQ wings. Had to wait, but it was made fresh and was hot and delicious. Service was polite and friendly. Would definitely recommend it.
Great food stop either on your way out or back. Wings are huge and taste great with a huge side of dressing. The pizzas are hot and tasteful.
2.5 stars. Taking the small town it's hard to have a good restaurant. This place could be better. The chips with my salsa were stale and the taco shell is bought. Not made. Fresh chips and taco shells should be a must at every Mexican restaurant. Cheese enchilada was good. Shredded beef tostada was decent. No flavor. I had high hopes.
I love this place. It's small yes, it's in a small town yes, not many waiters, one bathroom. Whatever. But, the food actually is good. If your chips were stale it's probably because you may have been rude or you caught them on a not very great day. Don't listen any others, I've lived here in Wellton most of my life and Geronimo's is the best restaurant we've ever had. Why do you think it's been here for so long?
I was just driving through, on my way to rocking a sick gig in Phoenix. Pulled off for a quick bathroom break, which quickly devolved in to a full on psychedelic burrito fest. Tacos were good too. And to top it all off, just when I thought things literally couldn't get any better, shortie rolls up and says 'do you want a refill?' (I was drinking a horchata.)
