Overpriced and average. $20 for a 16 inch and pepperoni??? Cmon! We've come to the conclusion that the reviewers here have never had a real pizza from up north or they are related to the owners. How could you possibly say that this place is better than brooklyn pizza? Unbelievable!! It's a shame Broadway Pizza is not near Vail. You can get a 18 inch pie with pepperoni that's a 100x more delicious and tastes like the stuff from the east coast for around $13.50.

Hands down the best Hawiian Pizza in Tucson!!! The fresh toppings along with amazing sauce is the reason why I can make that statement. Now mix very friendly people to take you order. Love the mom and pop feeling. And there is no way you can go wrong the their slice of pizza and a drink lunch special. My family loves this place!

We have been here so often that we are on a first name basis with the owners. As a matter of fact, we don't even have to mention our name. They can tell it's us ordering over the phone by the combination of ingredients we always order. The customer service is excellent from the ownership down to the front counter help. I've tried their humungous slices (a steal at $5.50 with a drink), their pies, calzones and sandwiches. I havn't tried their salads, but I don't usually buy salads when I go out to eat. My wife loves the calzones and they are almost obscenely large, lol. We usually get two meals out of one. Overall, I highly recommend AZ Pizza Company in Vail.

Best lunch special in Vail! The pizza is delicious and during lunch you get a great deal with a large slice and a drink. I often split a salad and a slice since they are huge. I would also highly recommend their hot sandwiches, which are often forgotten because of the great pizza. If you are out in Vail, or near Colossal Cave, I recommend that you stop by and enjoy the friendly service and great food.

The pizza is pretty good (not exceptional but good enough that we've ordered it a few times) and the Greek salad is delicious! The service here is exceptional. Everyone - the owners to the delivery drivers - are friendly and upbeat. This is a great little place in Vail to order from when you just don't feel like cooking.

Pass up Montgomery's your money will be better spent @ Az pizza co. Good food, reasonable pricing. Friend servers that don't have the Montgomery's attitude.

We were so happy to hear a local pizza place was opening up in the Rita Ranch/Vail area, and we had to try it out. It's a small place, about 6 tables, so I'd imagine it gets crowded around the lunch/dinner rush. The good thing is they've started up their delivery service and currently deliver to about five miles away. They said that they're adding delivery drivers however, and are expanding into Rita Ranch (~7-10 miles). As for the pizza, we came for the lunch special, 1 HUGE slice of New York-style pizza (think about the size of your head) and a drink for 5.50 (+.50 for extra toppings). Their slices are pre-made with red sauce and mozz, so you just add toppings, no options for other sauce/cheese combos. My boyfriend was disappointed that he couldn't try their buffalo chicken pizza as a slice. I got chicken, onions, basil and feta on mine and was disappointed to see a handful of raw onions and dry chicken sprinkled over the slice. They don't really incorporate the toppings into the slice itself before baking it. The basil and feta were great, but I wound up dumping most of the chicken and onions off. For the slices it's probably best to stick with basic toppings, my boyfriend's pepperoni was great! Nice crunchy, thin crust and a good proportion of cheese/sauce. The staff is very friendly however and seemed to be genuinely concerned with how people were enjoying their food. I was going to give this place 3 stars, but I have to give props to a new, local business for giving us an option other than the chain pizza places around. Hopefully they work out the kinks and give us a reason to come back after we try out a basic pizza and their delivery.

I just tried the calzone. It was supposed to be loaded with ricotta cheese and mozzarella cheese. I added sausage. This was the WORST calzone I have ever eaten. The bread was soggy and I could only find about a teaspoon of ricotta cheese and sausage! The rest was all mozzarella cheese. Terrible!!

Used to be one of my fav places for calzones. But they "lost" and didnt honor a credit for an order THEY messed up and promised. Kinda turned me off due the customer service. Good food.

The Vail location is the best pizza in AZ. The Popeye reminds me of the pizza I had in Germany/Italy. The carnivore is equally delicious. Outstanding customer service and delivery!

If anyone believes $5.50 ($.50 for each topping other than cheese) is too much for one slice of pizza and a drink, I could totally see where you're coming from. But it's also feasible to believe you've never been to Arizona Pizza Company in Vail, AZ. I've consumed pizza at No Anchovies, Brooklyn Pizza, Grimaldi's and just about every pizza place in Tucson and none of them serve slices as gargantuan as what were given at this establishment. The size of the slice does not come at the expense of flavor either. It was a perfectly cooked New York style slice with cheese then had just enough saltiness that enhanced its flavor. The pepperoni was like any other pepperoni (which isn't a negative remark at all; pepperoni is generally glorious every time I eat it). I also topped my slice with bacon, which was a nice addition to the cheese / pepperoni marriage that was taking place in my mouth. But aside from the specifics of the ingredients (which tasted very good, mind you), this place gets a 5-star rating on the size of the slice, the price, the service (which was unquestionably perfect), the cleanliness and the ambiance. Oh, and they had a flat screen inside with ESPN on. Next time, I will try something different; perhaps a calzone.

Great pizza, HUGE giant slices, the lunch special is incredible, dinner foods - great salads and pasta, the place is tiny though and no privacy, service was great,4 stars and worth a visit.

I thought the pizza was very good considering the options in this area. They are pricy if you have a large family but who isn't pricy anymore. The Italian sub doesn't seem Italian but is still good. They have freshly brewed iced tea. I can't stand the fake stuff. Defiantly worth a shot.

This was my first time trying this pizza. They delivered! I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The veggies looked and tasted fresh. Note that their large is 16inches which is bigger than a papaJohns large (14 inches). We bought two pizzas and had way more leftovers than we normally have. That's ok for me because I like cold next day pizza!

Hooray for something new and exciting in Vail! I finally got a chance to stop in here this past Saturday evening. It was pretty busy - each of the 6 tables were taken and people were coming in an out for takeout orders. Being my first time there I was a little confused about how everything worked and the staff didn't really do much to help. I did find out from them that you can order pizza by the slice at anytime even though the menu would lead you to believe that is only an option at before 5pm. You can get a slice of cheese anytime for $5.50 but before 5 it also includes a drink. It's definitely a generous portion. I thought it was a really good basic cheese pizza. Nice thin crispy crust and not overloaded with sauce and cheese which I like. I also got the Greek salad which was huge. I loved that it came in a big bowl with tongs and dressing on the side so you could mix in as much or as little as you wanted to. My brother got one of their subs and said it was awesome. I'd say their prices reflect their huge portions so for me to go alone might not be ideal most of the time but to share with other people will be perfect! They have free delivery in the local area so I plan on taking advantage of soon! On my second visit my fiance and I ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and two salads for take out. They said it would be about 25 minutes and it was. As soon as we walked in and paid, our food was ready. The Capri salad I had was delicious and unlike the Greek salad I had my first time and the garden salad my fiance had this time it wasn't huge. It is only $3.25 and its the perfect size to eat with a slice or two of pizza. The mozzarella was soft and delicious, the tomatoes were perfectly fresh and ripe and it paired nicely with the lettuce, basil, balsamic vinaigrette, touch of garlic and coarse ground salt and pepper. I would go back just for this salad over and over. The pizza was great too. It had a nice kick to it and I enjoyed that the chicken was flavorful and moist. We asked them to add tomato sauce (because it doesn't usually come with it) but I haven't decided if that was a good idea or not. The pizza ended up being a bit topping heavy and they would fall off easily. Might need to try it again without that modification. Loving AZ Pizza Co!

Got a 14" pizza last night and it was pretty delicious. I tried the carnivore specialty pizza. I stopped at the restaurant in the evening around 6:00 pm and ordered my pizza to go. It took about 20 mins to get my pizza so that was pretty awesome. Good family vibe in the restaurant. Cashiers we're friendly as well. Overall good experience.

A group of 5 friends stopped for dinner this evening. One pizza a family style salad shared by 4 of us and one single salad, total of $32.50. You are allowed to bring in your own alcohol, so we picked up a 12 pack at quick stop. Arizona Pizza provides a tub filled with ice to keep our beer chilled. The salad was wonderful with pepperoni, salami, ham, olives, tomato, onion, mushrooms, cheese and fresh multi colored young greens, the pizza tasted as good as it gets. Could not ask for better customer service provided by the owners, she worked the counter and he cooked. We will be returning and I encourage you to stop by and try it out!

Ordered 2 Calzones, not only were they huge! But very good. AZ Pizza Company is definitely a great place for quality pizza, Calzones, and salads. I just wish they had wings!

The pizza is great and the choices nearly limitless. They offer vegan and vegetarian options as well. It is a nice space with room for a small group. I ordered five pizzas and they were ready in 20 minutes. It was a bit expensive ... $100 for five 14" pizzas with basic options on each.

Finally found a good pizza out West! We are from the East and have been disappointed until Arizona Pizza arrived. Can't give you 5 stars just because no west coast pizza matches a real New York pizza.

My family and I have eaten here a couple times and we would rate it, OK. The best part about this place: The lunch special is a great deal, a HUGE slice of cheese pizza and a drink for $5.50, and I imagine it will end up being one of the main attractions of this restaurant. Our gripes are: 1- The woman owner/ manager (???) who is usually at the cash register, seems generally putout when approached for making an order, making the experience a little awkward. 2- Pizza prices are hefty, a medium cheese pizza will run you $15 and every additional topping will cost $1.50 extra-- EEK! Forget about specialty pizzas unless you're willing to spend a small fortune. 3- Finally, "extras" such as additional salad dressing will run you $1+ per item, and they will not forget to charge you-- in fact they went back and cancelled our order to charge us for additional ranch dressing. :( I don't know how often we will be eating here since there are other pizza places in Vail (craft and chain) which are relatively close, and offer equally good pizza (some better) with better prices.

It's kind of pricey for a large family! But the pizza and Calzone is pretty good.and the ppl working there are nice.

The pizza is delicious, the sauce zesty, and the ginormous slice and soda is the best lunch special ever. I had two slices to go in less than 7 minutes. Super friendly service as well.

Having become a regular customer at Arizona pizza I have to say the ingredients are always the freshest, And the pizzas are consistently good it's never hit or mess I've had the regular pies as well as specialties and there all some of the best I've had in Tucson. And as far as the sandwiches and subs go they remind me of being back home in New York well worth the money and always fresh. Overall this is one of the best additions restaurant wise we've gotten in a long time out here in Vail.

We love this place! It is so nice to have a quality place to eat in Vail! The owners Jody and Rachel are super nice people! Their lunch special is amazing. A giant slice (equal to some places small size pizza) with a drink for $5.50. The pizza is thin and crispy and the red sauce is amazing! This is the best pizza I have had in Arizona since I moved from NY. The buffalo chicken pizza is amazing. The sauce is made from frank's red hot for this pizza which is my absolute favorite. Calzones are great too. Recently tried the turkey and Swiss sub as well as the Italian sub. Both were delicious! Perfect amounts of condiments and French bread that was warm and toasted. We have yet to try something here that we do not love! Since they do not have a liquor license you can bring in your own alcohol for free. We really hope this place does well. The prices are very reasonable, portions generous, and staff is awesome! The only thing missing is chicken wings!

Fabulous pizza ... We eat here once a week and take out or dine in... Fabulous gluten free as well and fun varieties of toppings and special. Nice as we can take some of our local wines as Byob... But bring your opener and glasses too. I have gained 15 lbs since moving to Vail and eating their delicious pizza. I told my husband we can only eat here once a month. All their salads are very generous and yummy too

This is the type of pizza place that you can taste the quality of the ingredients in the pizza. The crust is crisp on the bottom and has a great fluffy soft doughy center in the rim. They don't skimp on the toppings and everything is made to order. We tried the pepperoni pizza and a mixed greens salad. The pizza is better than the big chains like Papa John's or Domino's but it was a little on the greasier side of the pizza grease spectrum. The salad was fresh and had an abundance of ingredients. The service was friendly enough. The interior is a little small so not ideal for larger groups. Nice local pizza place for this area.

Every time that we have ordered here, we have paid in excess of $50 and have received mostly burned pizza/calzone. Why we continue to give it a shot is beyond me. I can get three pizzas at Dominoes for less than half the price and get more big girl satisfaction. It's hard to mess up a Hawaiian pizza. The Popeye tasted like feet smell. Does that make sense? I've never tasted feet, but I imagine that AZ Pizza Co has nailed this taste. Excellent job guys! Please stop burning the pizza. Please. Two stars for being able to leave and immediately get a Blizzard. Yes. I just went there, and I HATE DQ.

AZ Pizza Co has the best pizza around! They have a fantastic special: a slice and a soda for $6.50. Their slice is the size of a small pizza in other places and the test is incredible. The service is friendly and fast. Great family atmosphere as well. They also offer free WiFi for their customers along with sports on TV while you eat.

These calzones are HUGE. I ordered one thinking it was a small size in place of a slice of pizza and this was as big as a whole pizza. It was delicious but more than I could eat. Its def going to be a place I visit again on my road trip.

they have monthly specials! Sundays in August-for each delivery order, they're including a half order of garlic cheese bread per pizza. I think Arizona Pizza Company is good. For some reason, though, their recipe doesn't really strike a chord with me. I give in to a craving once in a great while (and the fact that they have spread out locations is a plus) and while it's always tasty, I'm never left saying that I can't get enough of it. The pizzas are large and adequately sized but it is pretty expensive. Bonus is their take-out, delivery, or eat-in options.

  • Ben D.

All AZP are good, but this one is the best. The service staff are always nice and the pizza is just a bit better. This location also has a great tasting and well priced salad called the Capri (basil, mozarella tomatoe, fancy lettuce). I am salad intolerant and I get this salad. The lunch special of $5.50 for a huge slice of pie and a drink satisfies my cheap ass as well as my belly. The calzone is flipping awesome too, must be that great dough they make. Downtown pizzeria taste from a east side location.

  • Dj S.

We have been there a few times. Its a little bit of a drive for us-but worth it. The pizza is very very good. The service is not top notch--seemed each time we were there to be a bit unorganized. But we continue to go because at least they are polite and have great food. :) The only thing missing from their menu is french fries--then I would be truly hooked!! They are a in a small space and could use a bigger store with more seating.

This place is really good. I have tried multiple pizzas multiple times and haven't been disappointed. Big slices and quality toppings.

Calzone isnt bad, but why charge 20 for a 16 inch pie that is mediocre at best? I know .....to make a killing right?

  • Peter M.

Called a couple of hours before closing to order some (4) slices to go. Girl on the phone could care less..."we don't have any slices "..... so you sell pizza but you don't have pizza for sale??? This is why businesses in Vail suffer.... The customer experience doesn't matter. People cry " keep it local, support local business" but then they tell you Domino's is open til 2!

    (1)
  • Briana G.

We were soooooo happy when we found out a new pizza place opened in Vail.. I am so tired of the big companies being the only ones around vail! We have been there twice, had delivered twice and all 4 times have been sooo amazing! I love the variety of specialty pizzas they have! We tried the gourmet cheese pizza and it was AMAZING! The only bummer is the pizzas are slightly on the expensive side for a large specialty, and small cheese its about $40, but its sooo worth it when we feel like spending a little extra on pizza!

Good: You can buy by the slice Big slices Bring your own booze! Bad: Not the fastest service Some speciality pizza not available by the slice
