Tucked away in a strip mall, at the corner of Drexel/Cardinal sits an incredible find for Homemade Mexican Food stuffed with Meat Galore and their Burritos Always Double Wrapped! Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner or Pick up Quart, Gallon of whatever to serve at home or office. Menudo also Available. A traditional menu with a Homemade taste at a decent price, for the amount of food you are served. Love, Love their Shredded Beef Super Nachos, Birrieria Burrito or their incredible Chorizo(No Egg), Potato & Cheese Burritos. My mouth waters just thinking of them, LoL! Always grab an extra bag of chips & Salsa from the reach-in, well worth it! We always call our order in and ready in 20min and prepared by "The Real Thing" Nanas in the Kitchen. I have seen these Mature Women hard at work, and appreciate my meal that much more. Thank you Staff!!!! Suggestion with Love Tania, Buy the furniture store in front of you and include a drive thru, inside dining and side east patio with misters. Let me know if you need a Manager for that Great Location!!! Loving Your Food, And on My Way to Picking Up My Order, StevenOchoa3 Tucson, AZ

Gotta love this place. Now that they've moved next door, Tania's is more spacious and has a couple TVs on the walls while you wait got your order. Food is good but greasy, but what do you expect?

Had one of the best bows of posole ever... and the tortillas that came with it on the side were divine.

This place is a gem! Excellent food, the best carne asada and enchiladas I've had in Tucson! Service can be spotty - sometimes friendly, sometimes not. The atmosphere is a bit divey, but the prices and portion sizes are great. Try it!

This place *shakes head*..... where to begin? first off the employees couldn't care less about their paying customers. If something is on special and you dont specifically say you want the "special", then they wont offer it to you, they won't tell you about it and you'll pay FULL price. Example: today my co-workers sent me there to buy burritos. I ordered one green chili burrito and one red chili burrito. 4.99 each. After I received my order, I noticed a whiteboard out of customer peripheral view that read: "Today's Special Green/Red chili burrito with beans and rice $4.99" wow. Forget the sign being out of view, the lady that took my order(skinny lady in late 30's) didn't even mention the special to me. So I paid $4.99 for the burritos minus the beans and rice. Oh and dont you DARE critisize their food!! because no matter what YOU'RE wrong and their food is always cooked to perfection! One time a co-worker ordered soup from Tanias. What he got was undercooked meat and vegetables. What gave it away besides the lukewarm broth was the crunchy potatoes. He went back to inform them(not even complain) that the soup wasn't fully cooked. and the lady, in her 50's or 60's with curly hair and glasses, IMMEDIATELY cut him off and wouldn't hear a single word of it! Stating that that's the way the soup is made and that it was cooked right. Trust me it wasn't, the darn potatoes were like peanuts. Price? Well 1.99 for a Taco Bell quality taco sounds like a steal to me!! ....A steal for Tania!! And last if you are gonna eat there, don' eat *THERE*. The inside of the restaurant is like walking through a New York subway train. Narrow and packed! Please bring your steeltoe's because your shoes might get stepped on! Because of size limitations the tables are so tiny they make a coffee table seem like the one from The Last Supper. Speaking of the last supper, I'm done eating there. Which is a shame because It's so close to my work. Oh well... 99 cent Circle K hot dogs here I come!! UPDATE: My co-workers sent me to this dump again (they have no choice) and wow. If a picture's worth a thousand words let me just stop now and let the new photos I posted speak for themselves.

Well, been going here for years. Usually pick up some breakfast burritos, which are great. Dining area is way to small, unless for a quick bite to eat for a small party of 2-3. There is always a line when I go, which say's something on it's own, but as I mentioned the place is too small, and most of the orders are all take out. Menudo the most popular hangover cure over in these parts, is always a hit as well.

I had the joy of having tamales from this place today at a potluck. My co-worker says this is a great place inside. The people are friendly and the food is usually good. The tamales that I had to day were an exercise in authentic deliciousness. I had some red beef tamales with green olives inside and some green chili and cheese ones. They were really good. I would definately recommend stopping in to alieviate your tamale cravings.

I walked in today and ordered a new favorite. Carne Asada Fries. they were really good. Double tortilla makes every meal a bit more satisfying. The place was packed on my particular visit and it took a really long time to get my food. Even though it was well priced and absolutely some of the best Mexican food in town I wish it was a bit faster. So next time i will order out. They do this all the time. Same great flavor, on your schedule. More than likely you will not visit when there is a line out the door so don't always expect to have my experience. Real Mexican sodas as well. For that real sugar taste. I think they cater as well.

Tania's is my go-to place to pick up a gallon of menudo, a dozen tamales, family-sized albondigas and the softest, most melt-in-your-mouth tortillas in town. The service is knowledgeable and professional, and no detail is missed. For example, when I told them I was heating the menudo the next day, my green onion-cilantro was neatly packed for stove heating. I've been worshipping at Tania's counter for more than a decade, and this place just keeps getting better. These days, the clientele leans toward yuppie as the area gentrifies. Tania's is keeping it real, though.

Too much grease. Calabacitas swimming in it.

Just because business is good and you have a lot of customers, it doesn't give you the right to be rude. However, me...as a PAYING customer, I DO have the right to ask questions about your menu without you laughing, rolling your eyes or being insulting. Since you are a family owned and operated bussiness...I know nothing will change...except for my patronage.

The food here is not great but it is not bad. It is a good alternative to your fast food Mexican. It is definitely a mom and pop traditional Mexican food place. The food can be a little greasy as well. The salsa is a 3/5 stars. Worth a try.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
