The last time I ate at Mama's was at least 25 years ago, when I was a student at the U of A. So there was this, you know, haze of positive memories around it. This location was far from the university, but the food was still good. We got a large pizza with a variety of toppings and took it home. GREAT PIZZA. While we waited, we noticed that there were many families there, including some with small kids. That's a good sign, to me. The place was dark, but appeared clean. The staff were professional, but not overly friendly. I'm okay with that. The food was great. The price? If you're used to $10 specials from Pizza Hut or whatever, you'll think spending $25 on a huge pizza full of fresh toppings is expensive. But it's not. That's what you pay for a good quality and freshly made pizza. I still get the $10 specials now and then (I do like Pizza Hut's thin crust, with pepperoni and mushrooms!), but don't mind paying for "real" pizza. Highly recommended!

Chickens wings: good Garlic breadsticks: not garlic-y and just okay Pizza: disappointing Really wanted to like it because of local recommendations but we would never return.

Good pizza, to me needs more garlic, nice lunch special. It's pretty pricey outside of their lunch special. You get a slice and a drink for $6, the slice is the size of a medium pizza

Good family pizza place, usually. NEVER had a problem with Mama's until our most recent visit. It is in the corner of a shopping center and had to find, with parking in the back. Large pizza's in a cozy environment for years. RECENT Not much has changed in this location, while familiar it is begining to seem dreary. Went to celebrate a friend and family event. Had the Pineapple and ham which didn't seem cooked totally, but no issues at the time. Later we had three in our house with minor upset stomachs, one sick. Then a week later found out another person was sick as well. I think it was a one time thing which may be due to a lax attitude. But I think an upgrade in the facility would help staff to be more attentive to food quality. I would still recommend, but if pizza is not cooked send it back.

Hidden gem. Could see the sign but not the restaurant, it's back in a corner of a strip mall but once inside it was awesome. Great food, fast service

In Tucson, this is as good as it gets! That doesn't mean Mama's doesn't have room for improvement. A couple things that it would take to get five stars from me: 1. Get a credit card system where I don't have to give you my credit card EVERYTIME for an imprint when you deliver. 2. Online menus and options - vague and simple - tell me everything on your website so i'm not blind sided by options by the person who is taking my order. 3. Coupons? Deals? Specials? Not really. 4. Why can't I get an 8 piece wing with two different flavors? Garlic Parmesan and....no. 5. The owners seem to be penny pinchers, which I can appreciate, but come on...

I wish they made places like this anymore. Numerous booths for a secluded atmosphere, and indoor water fountain (are you kidding me?), and pretty good pizza served by ambitious teens. This is what a Italian pizza place should be.

We LOVE the slices of cheese pizza and the canoli's are FABULOUS!!! The atmosphere is friendly too. I remember having Mama's Pizza when I lived in the NW part of town 20 years ago and the pizza has not changed. It's still THE BEST CHEESE PIZZA in Tucson.

I'm usually a fan of mammas, in fact worked here many years ago but tonight gave me a bad taste in my mouth. I called and placed an order for pick up as we had a large crowd at my house and we knew a family sized pizza and another pie would stifle the hungry mob. The order taker gave us a 30-45 minute time frame. After 30 minutes we got to the restaurant where we stood at the register for a few minutes before we were even acknowledged while the three guys messed with the register. Ok no big deal, then were told our order is still 30 minutes from being done, in fact it wasn't even started yet! Turns out our order sat on a back computer until we arrived as the ticket wasn't completed yet. The person I can only speculate as the manager confirmed what happened and offered only 10% off our order. If we hadn't paid already I would have canceled and went elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, 10 percent is better than nothing, but in lieu of the discount we asked if they could maybe comp us some mushrooms or something since we now have to wait another 30 minutes for our food and the guy refused. The only person to actually apologize was the cashier who graciously gave us some drinks while we wait. So just over an hour later we get our pies and head home. We open them up and are suprised to see they were in the oven about 10 minutes too long. There was burnt spots all over and around the pies (I'm talking black) and the crust was all but inedible it was so hard and dry. After spending over 50 dollars on pizza I expect it to be on time and not ruined. We salvaged what we could and will probably not be going back and we will be making some phone calls. What happened mammas, you used to be better than this.

Brought my daughter here and I didn't like the fact that they don't WEAR HAIR NETS OR GLOVES here while making your food. Hmmmm.....idk....

I used to love this place but after the experience I had last time I am afraid to go back. The deep dish we paid 25 dollars for was terrible. I used to think that even the worst pizza was still good. I was wrong. They need to take it off the menu or improve it because the other menu items are good and this one is awful. We took a bite or two and tossed the whole thing in the trash.

Really average tasting but fresh pizza. Individual slices are giant - ridiculously giant. Have tried the Sicilian and Neapolitan (Chicago style) crusts. The Chicago style is really just a giant mass of bread with a smear if sauce and a few toppings. Sicilian style is decent. Service was great though. Decor is dusty fake plants and a water feature with neon lights from the 80s. Too many interior canopies and dark wood make it feel dingy. Again, not the best pizza, but not the worst. 3 stars for the service.

Came here after reading descent reviews and wanting to find a good local pizza joint. Unfortunately we will NEVER be back. This place suffers from incompetent management. We ordered a large peperoni, with fresh basil, and an order of bruschetta. Bruschetta was a hoagie bun with pesto, melted cheese then topped with unseasoned tomatoes. The pizza we received didn't have toppings we ordered. I presumed the pepperoni was under the cheese, as some places do. Also we got a plate of frozen basil on a paper plate to top our pizza with. These are mistakes, it's ok, things happen. But the lack of accountability displayed by the manager is unacceptable to me. First off he yelled out our name to go to the counter and see him instead of coming up to us to apologize. he refused to fix the order since we had taken a bite of the pizza, and refused to fix the situation with a discount or a gift certificate. In such a competitive restaurant market sometimes the only thing that sets companies apart is customer service.

My husband and I are food enthusiasts and have been for a while. I like looking for new places to eat and he just likes eating. I have been craving pizza recently so one night we decided to go on a pizza hunt and ended up at Mama's. It is hidden away on a plaza with a large Fry's, so it can be very easy to miss. When we walked inside, my senses were pretty much blown away by the atmosphere. Between the soft, overhead lights and a small fountain in the middle of the restaurant, it was a romantic setting. You had your 80's love favorites playing and booths big enough to sit two people on one side-yes, we are THAT couple. We ordered one side of garlic stix and a small "everything" pizza. I was concerned that it wasn't going to be enough, given my husband's appetite but boy, I was wrong. Trust them when they say the small feeds 2-3 people because it really does! The pizza was delicious, the veggies were fresh, and the meat tasted good. We also bought two drinks and although there is no soda fountain available to patrons and come and refill, they refilled our cups for free. To sum up, it was a really nice getaway for my husband and I. The romantic setting didn't hurt either :) Overall we paid about 25-26 dollars for a small pizza and a side of garlic sticks. My husband ended up having lunch for 2 days. I would recommend taking a date there, you wont regret it!

Yuk. Frozen pizza tastes better. Awkward ordering process. Don't bother with this place.

Overall we were impressed with Mama's and would give it a solid B+. The ambiance was pleasant and it seems like a good place to bring young children (we saw lots of families with kids enjoying themselves and they have a small arcade area.) We had fried zucchini as an appetizer. It was fresh, crispy, and well seasoned. Overall a B+, but not the best in town. I had the Meatball Hero. The portion size was large. Taste was good but slightly under seasoned. It had more marinara than meatball subs typically do, which I appreciated. My wife had the Veggie Hero. She liked the bread but thought the ratio of vegetables to bread was a little bit off, and would have liked larger chunks of vegetables instead of the small dice offered. There were several other menu items that looked intriguing, like the Pasta Fusilli and Sicilian Pizza, and we will be back to try them. Of note, this is not a sit down restaurant, you order at the counter and they call your name over a speaker when your order is ready.

unique decor, as you walk into this Mama's there is a colourful fountain in the center of the restaurant, hanging from the ceiling are mini hot air balloons with the restaurant's name labeled on each balloon. The deep fried zucchini is yummy along with the sweet yet mildly tangy wings. Personally I'm not a fan of the pizza but the side items are pleasant. I noticed when you place your order there is an electronic board that shows the cook exactly what you are ordering. I found that pretty nifty that they didn't have to rely on a piece of heat paper. The outdoor patio portion would be delightful when the weather is perfect, its blocked away from all the street traffic.

Mama's has really good pizza. I guess I'd say it's NY style b/c you can fold it in half and eat it that way. Their garlic sticks are also very tasty. It's also a great place to go with someone from out of town, because the size of their slices is always good for a laugh. One Mama's slice is much bigger than the size of a paper plate. I'd say it equals 3-4 regular slices anywhere else. Unfortunately, they are really, really slow -- even if you dine in. Their service kinda sucks. You might wait 30 minutes for your pizza dining in and an hour and a half for delivery. Consequently, if you're really hungry, you're probably better off going somewhere else.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
