ok so we went here, sandwiches are good but two sandwiches and two drinks one bag of chips came to 22.00 way too much for a sandwich, and what was most irritating and why i am writing is when i was ready to pay for this expensive sandwich it wouldn't let me continue paying until i said if i wanted to give 10,15,or 20% tip!!! are you kidding? pay your employees more, don't ask your customers to do it....and you have to pay right in front of them so you look like a looser when you say no to a tip,I said no,and won't go back

I'm from Jersey, but had never been to Jersey Mike's until they opened here in Tucson. I have to say, I'm really glad they're here now! This is the best sub shop chain in town, without a doubt! The bread is really good here. It's got a bit of chew to it, but it's still soft and flavorful. It holds up really well the the ridiculous amounts of oil and vinegar they put on every single sandwich. And while we're talking about oil and vinegar...YAY that a sub shop has it! It's no surprise that an east coast chain would, because a sub is not a sub with out O&V! I've been missing that here in Tucson. Italian dressing ISN'T THE SAME!!! The meats and cheeses are sliced fresh to order, and while they're not Boars Head quality, they are definitely leagues above the plastic-like material that Subway tries to call food. They also don't skimp on their sandwiches at all. You get a really big and filling sandwich at Jersey Mike's! I like to get the roast beef and turkey club without bacon (I'm not a bacon fan, please don't hurt me dear bacon-lovers of Yelp). It's just a tasty sub. It can get messy with the O&V, mayo, and huge pile of lettuce they put on their subs, but it's a satisfying sandwich! I also love their wraps. You can get a regular wrap that's kinda healthier, or you can make any of their sandwiches into a wrap. I like to get the turkey with honey mustard wrap when I'm trying to be good. The turkey has a good flavor and the honey mustard is a pretty good one, so it tastes awesome. Their tortillas are always really soft but a little chewy, just like they should be! Yum! My only complaint is that some employees don't know how to wrap them up well, and they can get a little messy. Not a huge deal. I really like the employees at this location a lot. They're always so friendly to us. I hate to say anything contrary, but I'm about being fair and 100% honest, so I must say that while I like them a ton, I wish the tables in the restaurant were cleaned more often. I've walked in while the restaurant was totally empty, yet every table was dirty. I don't want to eat in someone else's food. The prices are really reasonable for the big and tasty subs you get at Jersey Mike's. If you like subs/sandwiches, this place is a must-try!

I popped in for a quick bite to eat this evening. I'm always looking for a good cheesesteak, so I tried theirs. The bread was fresh, crunchy outside soft and chewy inside. I added mayo, lettuce, tomato, and the cherry pepper relish. Getting mayo was a huge mistake because, good god, who puts 1/4 cup of mayo on a sub? Seriously, I'm not exaggerating at all. I tried to scrape some off, and even considered having them make it over, but didn't. This might have been a decent cheesesteak had I been able to taste it. I'll go back again, but I read another reviewer that had the same problem with mayo. Sandwich maker: tablespoon at the most, geez.

My husband took me here for a quick lunch about a week ago. I wasn't expecting much, and I just sort of figured it would be a regular, run of the mill sort of sandwich shop. We walked in and we were greeted very warmly by the staff. They asked what we were up to for the weekend and seemed genuinely interested in what we had to say. My husband had been here before and recommended that I only get half the amount of oil and vinegar since they can sort of pour it on. I got the tuna sandwich with light oil and vinegar. Boy am I glad I did! While what they put on was the perfect amount, anything more than that would have been too much. The sandwich was so tasty! I was a big fan! The only thing was, it got soggy really quickly. This may not be an issue to most, but once a bread gets soggy it's ruined for me. Yicky texture and such. But the tuna was right up there! I am thinking that next time I will ask them to put the tuna on the side so I can just put it on each bite and save myself from the sog!

Seeing some of the poor reviews on Jersey Mike's I wasn't sure what to expect going in. In the end, both my wife and I were pretty happy. Of course, the coupon we used for a free sub could have made it taste that much better. The way they prepare the sandwiches was not conducive to moving the line of people that were there when I showed up looking to take food to go. That could be because they slice all the meats for the sandwiches to order. Not sure how that works for a cheesesteak or a hot/grilled sandwich of any sort but use your imagination here. My Big Kahuna cheesesteak came with steak and cheese (duh) and was further adorned with grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms and jalapeños. It was meaty, cheesy, oniony, mushroomy, spicy goodness. My wife's meatball sub was more tomatoey, cheesy goodness smothering tender meatballs. Again, we both pretty happy with our sandwiches. It's close to us and we'll probably return to try more of the menu. See... that's marketing at work. Give someone who lives in the neighborhood a coupon for free food and watch them become a customer.

This is literally the best sub place in the world. It's so fresh and mikes way is the bomb. Please go if you haven't.

The sandwiches are good. The contents are fresh and abundant. I have not gotten a bad sandwich yet. The cons I have is lately the staff is not all that pleasant. When I first started getting sandwiches there (shortly after they opened) the staff was always friendly and pleasant. Even though the sandwiches are good customers can stop coming back if they don't want to encounter an unpleasant experience with the staff. Another con is if you want to eat your sandwich there, it is hard to find clean table. I will give them another try.

I was pretty excited to try Jersey Mike's -- one of several lunch options in this new East side strip mall, very close to my work. I spent most of my 25 minutes in line talking to a woman who was raving about how good they are and how she used to have to drive to Phoenix for this. I ordered the Chipotle Cheese Steak because anything with Chipotle in the name has to be good. My three main issues with this place were the time it takes for them to make a fast food meal (25 minutes), the lack of flavor in the food (mine might have been made wrong), and the cleanliness. That last one is strange because usually places that have been open less than a week are clean, and the staff is recently-trained on food safety. But the food prep areas are a total mess, the workers pick up pens to write out tickets, adjust their clothing, and touch all kinds of surfaces -- without so much as replacing their gloves. If I wasn't ordering a hot sandwich, I'd have left without eating for fear of their utter lack of basic sanitation. My "chipotle" sandwich had no hint of spice or heat at all. The menu says it comes with "spicy chipotle mayo". If that's true, we have very different definitions of "spicy". I actually think they gave me regular mayo, as it didn't seem to have enough color to have had any chipotle added. And they really pack on the mayo -- my sandwich had at least twice as much as it needed (I had to squeeze it off). So, chipotle issues aside, was it a good cheese steak? No. Not even a little bit. Usually you can't get the taste of salt out of your mouth after a sandwich like this because it's so over-seasoned. Mine was the opposite -- bland. I wondered if the meat had been salted at all. The only flavor that stood out on the sandwich at all was American cheese, and that's not a compliment. The prep area in this store is tiny -- they had trouble any time they were making more than one sandwich at a time. That's why it took 25 minutes for me to get from the door, through the line, to a table. This Jersey Mike's might be less than a mile from work, but I won't be back. They hit the trifecta of disasters: bland food, slow service, unhygienic food prep.

My boss had recommended this place although not this location. I came here with a co-worker and thought I'd try a Philly cheesesteak. The line was long and the staff seemed kind of unsure how to handle the lunch rush. I saw the woman in front of me order 3 subs with different toppings. Although the sandwich maker was trying his best to make the sandwiches, it took him three times to be reminded by the manager and twice by the customer. In the end, he still messed up and that woman probably went home upset after finding the sandwiches were made wrong. I will say my cheesesteak was good. I'll have to visit this place again and see if they've improved on their service.

I give this place 1 star because my son liked his grilled reuben. On the other hand, he'd eat anything. I ordered a turkey wrap. It turns out that you don't get anything but turkey, honey mustard dressing, lettuce and tomato on the turkey wrap. I wasn't able to decipher the menu in time to figure that out. I also wasn't able to identify any tomato on the wrap, save maybe a scrap. A picked out the turkey, scraped off the honey mustard dressing, and threw the rest away. My daughter had a chicken ranch sandwich which she said she didn't like. She ate maybe half of it. I'm not sure I would choose to return. If you go, pay attention to the menu, because you might think you get to choose toppings. It looks like you only get to choose on the "cold subs" category.

my wife and I came here as our first trip to a jersey mikes. we had the big kahuna cheesesteak and italian on white. the big kahuna was delicious and unique. the italian was fresh and piled high with meat. As it appears all of the meat is sliced to order, i can see how it might be a bit slower during a lunch rush but our sandwiches came out fast. all of the staff were extremely friendly and professional- felt more like a mom and pop shop than a big franchise. not sure if the story is different during the week because it seems many of bad reviews were weekday lunch meals. we were pleasantly surprised by the food, atmosphere, and thought jersey mikes stands out amongst many sandwich shops in town. we will be back and the big kahuna will be a frequently ordered item.

Update: I went to the OTHER location on Speedway, and it was MUCH better. Bread was fresher and covered, fresh green lecture, plastic cutting board that they made the subs on, and employees wore gloves. I will be leaving a much better review for the Speedway location, but the Grant location still gets 2 stars from me.

Nothing really wrong with it. I know that doesn't sound exciting, but I've been spoiled by actual hoagies in Jersey (mmmm.... Primo's... Drool...) my whole life and this place was solidly adequate. Freshly sliced meat, although I couldn't quite taste the pepperoni on my Italian. The shape was odd (bread slices all the way through), maybe that's a North Jersey thing? The Reuben had a nice flavor, but that's not what I generally crave when my stomach says Jersey hoagie. Clean, friendly, fast service. Still, sigh. I want to go home.

I have eaten there three times. The first sandwich (Jersey Shore) was great, but the experience went downhill each time. This place hasn't even been open for very long! I had the roast beef (#6.) It was flavorless even though it was prepared "Mike's Way". The vinaigrette (yes, that's the correct spelling) dressing must have been watered down and they searched the earth for onions that were purely ornamental. The worst part of the sandwich was the beef. It was razor thin and had the texture and flavor of a paper towel. The provolone cheese was flavorless too. There are some good points about Jersey Mike's: it's clean and they don't play loud music like some places feel the need to do these days. Some things downright suck though. They only have Pepsi and their related soft drinks, they prompt customers to leave a gratuity if you're paying with credit or debit so bring cash when you go, and the sidewalk for that complex should have been wider considering that people rush out of the doors of the other businesses without paying much attention to passers by.

If you're looking for a great sandwich, you might want to look somewhere else. If you're looking for an overpriced mediocre sandwich, then you've come to the right place. Let me start first by saying, I've already tried this location twice and both times I was not impressed. The first time I walked in right after 10 and there were no lines yet it still took me about 15 min to get my darn sandwich which is extremely ridiculous. I ordered a "chipotle" Philly cheesesteak and a drink and a bag of chips, my total was around $12. Was it worth the time and the wait? Not at all. The sandwich was bland. I'm not sure if it was the bread or the meat but the taste was not great at all and was actually kind of gross and heavy. And the "chipotle"? Either they forgot it completely, or not enough, or the sauce has no flavor because it did not improve the taste of my sandwich. I decided to give the restaurant a second chance a couple of days later during the lunch rush hour and it still took 15-20 minutes, which is okay because it's lunch hour, it's packed, but it made me realize how ridiculously long I waited the first time when it was dead. I shoveled out another $12 for the #9 (can't remember what it was called) but the person before me ordered it and looked great; roast beef, turkey, Swiss, olive oil, red wine vinegar, onions, lettuce, etc. Was it great? No. Was it horrible? No. It was good/alright, not the best sandwich ever, but again for the price I wish I had gone to Jimmy Johns and got the same thing (which also probably would have tasted better too!) for cheaper. Now two things are actually pretty good about this place: the staff is friendly and the food is filling and can probably serve as two meals for you. In the end, if you're looking for something to fill you up this will work, but if you're looking for quality you might want to move along somewhere else.. Like Pizza Studio right next door! Feel free to check out my full review there!

After waiting some time in line we ordered chicken Chipotle cheesesteaks. It sounded good with grilled chicken, onions, peppers, and Chipotle sauce. After a long wait what came was a small topping of grilled veggies with cheese and about a tablespoon of chicken. It was really thin from the skimpy toppings. It didn't have any Chipotle sauce. My buddy had the same sandwich made the same way. Several bites in the middle were bread only, and we assumed they made them wrong. The manager was working the front counter so we mentioned this to her. She was really a sport and apologized then offered us coupons for 2 new sandwiches. Because I love great sandwiches and this place is near my office, I'll give them another shot.
