I would give this place a higher rating if it didn't take an hour to get my food from the time I walked in.....actually as I sit here and do this review my food still hasn't come yet.

Speedy service and the food was great. Arrived about 1:00 today and had a friendly greeting. Seated right away. Attentive waitress and food came out promptly which was good, because we'd just arrived from Atlanta and it was like 4:00 and way past our lunch time.

Walked in at 1130 and there were only a few tables seated. I was starving and told the server whose name is Zach everything looked great. That is about where i started being disappointed. I asked for a minute to look at the menu. 10 minutes later the server comes back. I ordered the slamwich my gf ordered the waffle slam. I asked for light toast on ther bread. 25 minutes later our server comes out with the food. Hadn't seen him since he took the order. The waffle came out soggy. As if it had been sitting in the window. The sausage for her plate was pink inside, and barely warm. My sandwich came out almost burnt. The table next to us had their order messed up as well. They asked for no sauce on their sandwich. The server Zach came out saying they put sauce on the sandwich but the cook tried to wipe as much off as they could. They tried complaining at check out where they waited 5 minutes before someone came out to take their money at the register and were basically ignored by the large man in a black cooks shirt. I asked for the check and payed. I will never go back and will be contacting the manager tomorrow.

The service and food are horrible! Ordered a burger off the menu. When it arrived the burger was cold and also the fries. When I took a bite off the burger the lettuce tasted terrible! The lettuce looked like it was several days old and couldn't eat it. I will never be back to eat at that place!

My Mother, and Myself come in about once a week. We enjoy the food, and service. I feel that a manager, or lead should be out front all the time. Just saying.

Been here for 50 minutes and ordered food 40 minutes ago. Our sever today is horrible, unlike or previous visits. No one checked on us or let us know when or if our food was coming. Food finally came out and it was nothing like we ordered. Go to Ihop if you need a place for late night. At least you'll get the food you ordered.

For a Denny's, this one ranks pretty well. The staff here is consistently the nicest I've ever seen, even after years of eating here. I don't think we've ever had a waiter or waitress who was less than very nice and very personable. The food here is what you expect from a Denny's, mostly. My only gripe is that they have absolutely no idea how to cook an egg. I ask for over medium WELL, and they always come with runny whites. When I send them back, they come back to me over HARD. I never get the doneness I ask for, but it's Denny's, so I've adjusted my expectations. They try to keep up with keeping the restaurant clean, and for the most part, it is. I never visit the bathrooms, so I can't speak of how clean they are, but I've seen employees cleaning them more than once when we've been there. Overall, if you're looking for a low key, inexpensive dinner, and especially like breakfast for dinner, then this Denny's is a good option.

In the 9 years that I have been in Tucson, I have eaten at every single denny's in town...alot. In the past, I would have said that the one on Dodge and Speedway was the best in all areas. However, over the past year, I have noticed that this particular location has improved greatly. Now, I go to this location as my Denny's of choice. The service here cannot be beat. The staff here is friendly and welcoming. They make sure they get you drinks and clear your plates with a smile. We are always seated quickly by a friendly face. The food comes out quickly and tastes great...especially given it's a denny's. I have been building my own grandslam lately. Wheat pancakes, chicken sausage, eggs and fruit. Not too darn shabby and some new, slightly healthier tastes add a nice element to the mix. So if you're on the East side of town and looking for some cheap diner food, this Denny's really can't be beat.

It was a slow weekday morning and service was slow. Hash browns barely browned, coffee stale. My daughter didn't complain, but I sure did.

Ok so your probably thinking... Denny's? Really? My answer...yes... Really! I have to say I don't eat here often, but when I do it's predictable to an extent. For example, it's semi cheap and the food kills hangovers like it's nobody's business. I can usually find that picky craving amongst all the menu items, and it's usually not bad! Today the only thing that was a bit of a miss was the blueberry muffin based pancake bites! YUK!!! And to top that off they were over fried!! So I took a whole whopping half a nibble and decided that these had to go! We ordered a couple of the SantaFe Skillets that came with eggs, peppers, onions, mushrooms, potatoes, and chorizo sausage. It was actually pretty darn good! Emily was all poopy because she wanted something to fill the sweet needs, and we gave the mini pancake balls a chance. This time we made sure that the ones we ordered were actual pancake batter and not muffin mix. Needless to say those lil buggers came out and they were pretty good too! So I got my Bfast and my Sweet fix, and didn't break the bank.

I try and keep these reviews of mine short when I can. We ate at this location today (04/06/2014). The hostess was very very rude. We were walked to a table about 10 minutes after getting there when numerous tables were open. The table this hostess chose to seat us at was supported with stacks of napkins and teetered about 3-5 inches in a see-saw manner. Mind you there were about 5 other tables right next to us that did not have this issue. We removed the stacks and stacks of napkins and found there was nothing wrong with the table to begin with, maybe the staff should have checked. We waited about 10 minutes to order. Food came exactly 48 minutes after we ordered. The waitress stated they were very understaffed and apologized. She did her best but I was not impressed. The ONLY reason I give two stars, is because the food was adequate. I actually felt bad for a family that was seated before us by about 10 minutes. They didn't get their food until we finished ours. Avoid this location.

I always get a bit scared when my wife wants to go to a chain on a sunday morning, on mother's day of all days too. but we were able to beat the crowd, we had a great server; and the food was excellent so no complaints; and kudos for sure !

Rarely do I go to an establishment to wallop in sadness and unleash my innermost feelings of regret and uselessness, but when such an occasion arises I drag my worthless carcass over to Denny's in hope that I can find solace for my pathetic existence. Every time I sit down I am thankful knowing the servers do not judge me, for such a display of public humiliation deserves to go unnoticed. Thank you, waitress, for having the sympathetic tone when you asked if I wanted bacon with my order. It's the small things in life people. Also, the cornbread was a bit dry. Good place to eat.

I went to Denny's Saturday night, and I highly recommend you don't get what I got....food poisoning. The service was great and everything tasted fine, but I was in bad shape the next day. I am still recovering, but I probably won't eat at a Denny's ever again.

What can you expect, is a Denny's, is pretty average to all the other Denny's, a bit dirty but meh, what you going to do. Staff was super friendly and the food was ok, come here only if you really are out of ideas.

I'm visiting my mom and brother here in Tucson and this Denny's is next to the hotel. This place needs serious help. I want to stress that the staff is wonderful: very hard working and friendly. In particular we have had great service from waitstaff Vincent and Cristina, and another young man who runs the cashier. However, there seems to be a big problem in the kitchen, as well as a lack of attention to small details that make coming here a real chore. The kitchen is taking way too long to get food out, and often things are screwed up. Especially anything with eggs. My brother ordered some grand slam thing and the eggs were not done to his request. They took it back and still didn't get right. We overheard other people in line complaining their eggs were not good. So maybe the kitchen cooks are new? Other things are easy to fix if the manager is on top of things. Our water never got refilled. Another visit we never got water at all. The menus, which are those heavy, laminated type, were so dirty and sticky this morning I couldn't handle touching it and I nicely asked the waitress for another one. ( She said they would clean the dirty one. ) Someone at a booth had spilled something and it took a good chunk of time to get it mopped up. (Significant since it was crowded and there's a slew of people, many elderly, walking who could have fallen.) I only point these things out because other chain diners are usually moving at lightening speed and there's a nice flow that moves tables quickly and efficiently as well as serving good food. This Denny's isn't getting it done. But the service was attentive and receptive and that made me give the second star.

With a little hesitation after the fashion show we decided we wanted to grab a bite to eat somewhere we can sit down lo and behold we ended up at Denny's, I was a bit reluctant to go there not knowing exactly if I could get something that was well worth my stop, to my surprise they offered a 2, 4, 6, & 8 dollar menu. Which I found to be pretty good I chose an item off of the four dollar menu which consisted of finely sliced ham bacon cheese and egg any way you'd like it on a toasted English muffin. Let me just say it was rather delicious and it also included a side of hashbrowns you can't go wrong with a meal that satisfies your taste buds all under five dollars. Our waitress was rather friendly and the cook even waved at us.

I'm actually not a fan of Denny's, but I like to give each location a try to see if they can impress me. I just still haven't found that one thing about this place that makes me want to say, "WOW". Sure, iHop has pancakes, and Waffle House has waffles, but Denny's doesn't give me that feeling. The food isn't that great, in appeal and in taste, and the service is alright. I do like the fact that it's convenient and cheap, so that is a plus.

Denny's has seriously fallen in standards. One bite of my food made it where I thought I was going to be sick. My pasta wasn't cooked, my chicken was soggy and left a horrible aftertaste in my mouth. Only good part of the entire meal was the red velvet pancake puppies. I am unimpressed and won't be coming back.

We come to this dennys often. Probably 2+ times a month. This past visit was horrid, and I'll never return. We arrived at 9pm. We were sat, our server came, took our drink order, and I ordered an appetizer at that time. Our drinks come 5 minutes later. 20 minutes go by, after him being to the table next to ours multiple times, and still no appetizer, or an offer of refills. Another 10 minutes go by, he brings us our appetizer. Luke warm, and stale chips. Whatever. So we place our dinner order. By this time, it's pushing 9:40pm. Simple food. Chicken strip dinner for me, with fries and mashed potatoes, and a slam burger for my husband. Finally, at 10:30, we get our food. ICE COLD FOOD. We waited another 15 MINUTES until out waiter finally came back over. We asked for our FIRST refills of the night, 10 mins go by. He comes to the table and says "can I get you guys a refill??".... I told he we already asked for them, and we now wanted to see a manager. All the manager did was DISCOUNT my meal. We didn't get out of this plus until 11:10pm. Worst part, my husband woke up the next morning with food poisoning. Needless to say, this man got NO tip, and lost loyal customers. Never ever again.

I don't know why this Denny's has two dollar signs ($$) signalling $10+ meals, maybe it is wishful thinking on Denny's part. The $2.00 specials, like biscuits 'n gravy with hash browns, are extremely economical. ALL the Specials are under $10. Of all their breakfast combos, I like the $8 special which includes both coffee and juice, 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, and 2 pancakes. I believe it comes with a choice of toast or hash browns as well. (You can substitute if you don't want the pancakes!) The fact it includes coffee saves you $2 on your bill over what you'd pay on the other specials. You do have to look at your check to ser that they have not charged you an extta $2 on top of the breakfast however! The waitress told me why they frequently add $2. It's Because if you come in and first asked for coffee she will put $2 for coffee down on the tab, and forget to remove it once you order the breakfast that comes with coffee. If there is any problem at all here, it's that it's a larger Denny's than most, and when it fills-up, the kitchen can't keep up with the orders. If waiting to get one's order is infuriating, this can be easily solved by avoiding this location on the weekends and coming in on weekdays.

Awful service! I tried calling for an hour before hand to make a to-go order and the phone was busy every time. When I got to the restaurant to place my order on person, I stood at the front desk for 5 minutes while the ladies in back were talking about someone needing to come help me instead of acknowledging me and coming to help. The woman who came to the counter, Laurie Marie, just said "hi" with no eye contact or other acknowledgement while she logged into her computer. I started to ask her for a recommendation of dressing for a salad and she cut me off and asked for my name. I gave her my name and then asked her again. She reluctantly answered my question, I placed my order and handed her the money. I realized after I gave it to her that I have her a dollar too much and told her. She gave me short change back and I reiterated that I had given her too much. She clearly was not concerned with me at all. While she was finishing another waitress came up and asked what tables were hers and with incredible attitude, Laurie Marie responded with, "I don't know. I'm not even on the schedule." She then gave the other waitress an awful look of disgust. There's probably a millIon Good reasons she isn't on the schedule. My experience only being one.

My wife and I went out for breakfast we were seated at a booth by the front window, the host brought us our coffee and told us our server would be right there, this one server went by our table 3 times to check on customers that were sitting behind at that time I didn't know that he was our server, so after waiting 8 minutes before he came over to take our order. His name was Brad. The mgr walked by several times but I didn't say anything. I have been in Food Service for over 40 years and the one thing I will not put up with is being ignored at a restaurant. Needless to say Denny's is off my list of places to go.

Denny's is yay, Denny's. I saw some special dish, the Hobit Hole Breakfast. It looked good from the picture. I figured hey, for $5.99 I'll give it a try. Wow, it was really good. It's a must try. Although, I don't like runny eggs, so I got them over hard. So the meal is bacon, hash browns with cheese and bacon, a really good soft bagel with the egg fried into the center. Like I said, I didn't expect a lot, but it was really good.

I visited Dennys on 9/16/2013. My order was rather a simple one for the cooks to prepair. I ordered the Value Slam. It was pancakes, sausage, eggs over easy, and a cup of decaf. The coffee tasted like it was made three days ago. My order took 18 minutes to arrive and when it finally arrived the waiter only brought me the eggs and sausage. He said it would be a minute untill my pancakes would be done. Five minutes later the pancakes finally arrived. The total wait time for my breakfast was 23 minutes. I could understand the wait time if they were busy but they were not busy at all. This is the worst Dennys that I have ever been in for service. My waiter was a man named Brad. As I sat waiting for my breakfast, I watched him apologize to most of his customers for messing up their orders. I think the entire crew needs to go back to school to learn how to give good and efficent customer service.

Not sure why I keep coming here, oh yeah the Ultimate Skillet!!! No really though, every time i come here I immediatly regret it from the time i'm seated. Service I give 4 stars (friendly, not fast, but always friendly and they try so hard but they are always so busy!), but unfortunately this isn't just service. This location is filthy, tables are rickety, and chairs are old. This place is ALWAYS busy, isn't it time for a makeover?? Eh- there is another Denny's on 22nd and Alvernon area and it is SO MUCH cleaner/comfortable.
