Ten Dollar Margaritas!?! Skip the Prickly Pear Margaritas. They're not terrible, but definitely not worth the $10 each. Food is ok. No view worth speaking of.

The food was great our waitress was fantastic my only issue is we originally sat in a booth near the front windows and the seating was disgustingly dirty. The cushion on the seat was very dirty and had food crumbs all over it. The back of the booth was littered with dead flys and bugs, GROSS! We had to move our seats it was pretty bad. I would return if they do a better job of cleaning the place.

My family and I really enjoyed Tubac Jack's! We dined on the patio which was really nice on a temperate day. Service was good, the food was fresh and was a good value. My Pop particularly liked the Green Chile Stew. It's for real, definitely hearty, with tons of tender smoked pork, some kick and a unique flavor. Glad we made a good choice!

Poor service- worse food. Came here with my husband and Mother in law during a trip to tubac (to see new things!). There are very few restaurants in Tubac, so this is the one we happened to stop at. It was busy, the entire patio was full so we sat inside. It's self seating, which I am not a huge fan of. It took our waiter a good 10-15 minutes to greet us and take our drink order. He didn't seem happy to be there, was short and snippy with us. After waiting forever again to get our drinks and give our food order, we waited forever AGAIN to get our food. And what a disappointment our food was. I ordered a chicken taco salad- the chicken had NO seasoning and was stone cold, the salad was boring, just lettuce, canned black beans, canned corn and tomatoes with a tiny sprinkle of cheese and that horrible chicken. The only thing that made it edible was the chipotle ranch dressing. My husband ordered 3 tacos, one chicken, one beef and one pork. The chicken and pork had no seasoning, the beef was overly salty. They were smothered in a green sauce that was unappetizing and the tortillas were not fresh. My mother in law was the luckiest of the three of us, but not by much- she ordered a BBQ chicken pizza. There was nothing exciting or memorable about it. The bbq sauce was obviously from a bottle, and the chicken was the same bland unseasoned chicken from the last two items described. The menu is small with not too many choices. Our waiter NEVER came back to refill our drinks or check on us. Finally we had to flag him down from accross the room to get our check. Needless to say we will not go back.

we went in as we were told its the only bar in town, well there are two others but our directions were probably thought of as where is the nearest bar. I had two Bombay martinis they were very good. one of our party wanted red wine but was told they were out (?) but later she saw someone else get served red wine, the bar tender said there were only two single serve bottles left. so down on that count.

Someone has seriously given up with this place. To start, the men's restroom has the old broken soap dispenser on the wall and a second new one with soap rotting the wall below. A glance above the table shows a ceiling fan with a quarter inch of dust on the leading edge of the blades, the seat cushions have food stains, the light fixtures are broken, our drinks are gone empty and unnoticed and there are screws left in the walls from old pictures. To top it off, 30 minutes for two veggie quesedillas? Give me a break! The holiday decorations are uninspired and a joke...

First time I've been here in a long time. Day after thanksgiving and they were swamped. I know they were going full bore but we waited 30 minutes or so for chips, then an hour or so for nachos which we eventually gave up on. We were at Tubac Jacks from just before noon to just after 2. We had one beer served to us and i went to the bar for the rest. The girl waiting on us had a few tables inside and a few tables outside and I'm sure they were running on a skeleton crew around the holidays. I'll be more than happy to try it again some time because a lot of the people i know that come down here rave about it. BUT as for this time it wasn't that great.

We initially went to Tubac to dine at Elvira's, but it was a little too busy, and Jacks seemed a little more chill. This place has a Mexican/Western restaurant feel with a California type patio. It had a really comfortable feel. The food was absolutely Fabulous! We tried the Ribs, Cheeseburger, Onion Rings, Diablo Sauce, and the Veggie Burger. My kids thought the Cheeseburger and Ribs were the best they ever had. I can honestly say that the Ribs were the best I had ever had. The service was great: The server was super friendly and my 2 boys really liked him.. He talked to them about video games andmade them feel special. I think his name was Todd. We are planning another trip to Tubac just to eat at Jacks.

It's back! After a brief hiatus as the Old Tubac Inn the name is being changed back to Tubac Jack's. We met the owner on our last trip who told us of the latest news. They have a new menu which looks unbelievable! We shared the nachos and a combo platter with friends. The new from-scratch onion rings are the size of donuts and taste even better. We also tried the Diablo ribs. The meat fell of the bone and the sauce was spicy and flavorful. We saw some salads coming out in a huge shell. Interesting looking and can't wait to try one on our next trip. They had live music and dancing on the patio and everyone was so friendly. The bartenders are quick and friendly. We met Christene and Oscar. They were both great bartenders. Friendly service + GREAT food + Live Music = A REALLY good time

Alright, I have a confession: When I think of the Southwest, I think barren desert....and I can't say that hasn't been the case (it has) BUT when I came across this place, packed and wait times on a Friday night, I wasn't sure if it was because Tubac Jack's is outstanding or the only place in a 30 min drive to eat. It was neither. I came during a "Luminaries" festival. I still don't know what it was but it brought people to the area. I got Green Chicken Chili stew and the Diablo Ribs here. The chili wasn't at all spicy much to my disappointment. In fact, it was loaded with chicken, beans, and corn and tasted a lot like homemade chicken soup....but that's not I necessarily wanted. So I'm not sure whose fault this dish was. Apparently deep frying ribs makes the fall right off the bones. I had "gently tug" with my teeth, but I guess it was pretty true. It was a bit to heavily bbq sauce laden, but it was still decent. Still not enough spice for my tastes though. But I couldn't complain. I left content.

Previously I had eaten at this place when it was the Old Tubac Inn which I happened to love. I figured how much different can it really be? Oh it was different alright and not in a good way. We walked in after 6pm on a Saturday and the place was dead- this should've been a giveaway. We were told there was a table for six just around the corner. I do not really understand the decor- the booths are lined with tacky India inspired bright pillows with bling. Yet we are in a "bar" yet they have a single page seasonal menu like many upscale establishments have. Very confusing! It was really warm in the dining area as well, which doesn't make you want to eat food. Anyway we order sodas for the kids, and three of us order from the bar and one adult orders a soda. The drinks weren't bad I will give them that. We ordered Cheese "Pizza" for each of the kids, two people in our party ordered the pulled pork sandwiches, another adult ordered the burger and I ordered the chicken Florentine flat-bread pizza. We also ordered chips and salsa which weren't bad the salsa was actually pretty decent here. The kids pizzas tasted like raw tomato sauce- no flavor whatsoever with cheap cheese. The pulled pork sandwiches were okay- they had very little bbq sauce and pork itself had no flavor. The homemade chips were good that came with the sandwiches. The burger looked juicy and good but nothing really to write home about. My Chicken Florentine flat-bread pizza was supposed to have a garlic olive oil brushed on it. I tasted absolutely ZERO garlic, the chicken that was on there- like others have said was uber bland. When you have cheese, bland chicken and sauteed spinach (which was WAY overly cooked) on flatbread its not that appetizing, I had to put a decent amount of salt and pepper just to help the flavor and even then I went ahead and asked for some ranch dressing to dip it in just to give it flavor. To top it all off this flatbread was almost ten bucks! Crazy! Anyway I guess if I went back during the spring I would try them again to see what is on the menu only because I believe in second chances but if I were in Tubac during the summer again- nope.

I like this place but I miss the Old Tubac Inn. They keep changing their menu and get rid of everything I love! But this place has good atmosphere and I prefer to sit in the bar or outside as I find much of the restaurant seating uncomfortable. The burrito is good, as well as all the burgers I've tried. The onion rings are really good - sometimes, I think it depends on who's making them. But when they're on, they're ON! They also have some unique appetizers such as fried jalapenos which are good. I also recommend the bbq ribs, but skip the coleslaw. Good drinks from the bar and some custom craft brews from the Nimbus Brewery in Tucson make it a good drinking stop, as well All-in-all, this place is good for some bar/comfort food. I just really wish they would stop tweaking the menu. BRING BACK THE BASEBALL CUT FILET!

I can't really comment on the food. We ordered and after 45 minutes after patiently waiting for our wings and rings we asked the waiter to check on our order. 15 minutes later he said the kitchen "lost" our order, did we still want it? NO! At least they comped the beers. No stars if it were up to me!!!

Tubac Jacks is an old main stay for locals and Tubac Visitors who are well informed. Jim, the proprietor has been "in-charge for decades. Of all the items of the menu, I enjoy Jims Ribs the most. Especially after working on the ranch all day. At Jacks you meet historians such as Pete Solares, he even has a street named after his grandfather, or even Michael who owns "Mother-truckers" a large truck brokerage and then there may be, Loco Michael, if he's not 86'd that night! All in all, Tubac Jacks is a great eating emporium and the "people watchin is fun. Join all my friends for some front porch kicken! Gary

Simply AWESOME Tex-Mex food served here. The restaurant uses natural lighting to set a great old southwest mood. The burritos and tacos here are amazing and the service is the same. I wish the portions weren't so big but I guess if you don't eat everything you have some for later. They're quite pricey though, which is why they don't get a full five stars. I ended up spending around $35 for a meal for two. Ouch!

The food here is just OK. You'll do better down the frontage road a little ways at Wisdoms or the little Mexican/Greek place. The bar can be a little scary at times, but also kind of fun. Come prepared to listen as locals will talk your ear off.

Good pulled pork sandwich. Diet coke was flat but they said their machine wasn't working. Loved the homemade potato chips.

Great place. The green chile pork chili stew is awesome. Watch the bartender make a Bloody Mary. Work of art, which is what you would expect in Tubac.

I went here with some friends that weekend in January when there was a huge freeze all over the valley...and one of the first things that I loved about Jack's is their huge fireplace!! So warm and fuzzy. Their panko crusted jalapenos were freakin' delicious! It's too bad they were extra hot that night. I love spicy stuff and can take it pretty well...but we must have got a basket of seed-filled jalapenos, because the older couple behind us had them too and they didn't seem phased. My other friend and I however were slathering our tongues with ranch to sooth our burning tongues and throats. But darn it, they were soooooooo tasty!! We also had their friend pickles which were also insanely good. Yum! Crunchy! Perfectly fried goodness! I had their green chile stew wish wasn't as good as I had hoped for. The meat was pretty dry and the stew itself was lacking spice and flavor. They did give us a free drink card and half off appetizer card for our next visit...which was perfect, because we'd be back in 2 weeks for another conference.

I rarely leave 1 stars - it seems harsh. This ... well - wow. So, first the good: the smoked jalepeno margarita - pretty good, if you like your margarita luke warm. Served in a martini glass no ice ... huh? Not blended either! But freakin tasty. Next - I am gluten intolerant, asked for some kind of plain potato on the side and plain chicken no bun. Seasoned fries came out and waitress said "I told them to make it plain and explained your problem" ... the chef/manager came out and said the potatoes were pre-packaged and had flour in them so they could not make any thing gluten free. They offered me the home-made potato chips which were not seasoned. So -- not sure if the chicken had MSG or gluten or if it was the chips, but I am SICK today for sure. Not sure why, if they have home made potatoes, they could not have offered me a baked potato ?? To top it off, the chef/manager asked if we needed anything else, I said that a couple glasses of water would be good. Waitress brings out their pricey bottled water. I said - tap water was fine, with lemon please. She came back and literally SLAMMED the water glasses on the table. She got pretty upset. I have to give her some credit, she tried to not be rude, but her frustration with having to "deal" with "special people" was obvious. Sorry we did not want to pay for water after the crappy food! Chicken was tasty ... maybe lathered in MSG or wheat - not sure, but it was tasty. They comped the chips and salsa because I brought in my own chips (which I was happy to have yay). They apparently were not able to read a label so I could determine what was in their "outsourced" chips and we happened to have some on hand. I'm glad they comped it though because the salsa was OK - but the accompanying guacamole lacked flavor ... we added salt and pepper and it was a little better. Not a place to go if you are needing helpful staff. Or nice ones either. Guess they are cow-boy rough at this place. Even my boyfriend, who asked for his fish taco to have GRILLED fish was told "nope, that is just how we make it - cannot have it any other way." The little meager portion he got from 11$ dish was not worth it in taste, quality or quantity. After attempting to research what maybe made me so sick (the distinctive gluten intolerant sick if you know what I mean) I was never able to find an ingredient list anywhere for this restaurant. interesting. Summary: go if you don't care what you are eating and are willing to pay a pretty high price for small portions and crap food. Oh and you don't mind the employees being rude if you happen to be a little needy. P.S. -- Their BBQ was like slightly flavored ketchup. Not too good.

We were just there for drinks but service was great and we loved the atmosphere. Definitely want to go back and check out the live music.

I would never eat here, because it's really a bar, or like it's called a "saloon". The drinks are okay, but pricey. It's a good place to go on winter weekends if you want to dance to oldies music--that's about it.

We decided to try this place based on Yelp ratings. The outside reminded me of Lil Abner's Steakhouse in Marana. The inside reminded me of El Corral on River Rd. with western furnishings and lots of uneven floors. Each set of tables and chairs was different than the rest. Cozy and quaint. We ordered the onion ring starter. The rings were huge but a tad greasy. The serving size is better suited for four or more adults. I could only eat one. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich off the lunch menu. I substituted the homemade potato chips with the cowboy black beans. The cole slaw was good and tasted not quite like any other cole slaw I've ever had. I recommend it. I can't handle spicy foods anymore so the server offered to bring the BBQ sauce on the side when I asked if it had even a hint of spiciness. He said it wasn't and sure enough it was extremely mild, a rarity for BBQ sauces. The beans and the pulled pork were very good. My wife ordered the rodeo burger which was supposed to come with onion, barbecue sauce, and an onion ring. It came with fries and a pickle spear. When her meal arrived it was not the rodeo burger but a burger with swiss cheese and avocado. She doesn't like avocados but she didnt want to wait for another burger to be made. We did remember that the server did not write down our order which obviously was not the way to go. The burger tasted more like a turkey burger than beef but the flavor was okay. The fries were not typical fries but coated half moon shaped fried potatoes. She tried one of the larger ones but thought it was under cooked. Actually the pickle spear was the best part of her meal, she said. Our granddaughter got the chicken fingers and fries. The chicken fingers were cut up into small bite size pieces which i liked. She had the same fries my wife had but she didnt like them. The chicken was good and she ate at least half of them. The server was friendly and attentive but he should have written down our order. The menu had lots to choose from so it is hard to base our experience on just one visit and getting the wrong order.

Great onion rings - well once, they are rather heavy. Chicken with penne noodles with Chipotle cheese sauce is my go to dish. Sometimes you will have to wait and wait on service. Local water is Horrid. Cold beer on tap. Some nice music on the weekends - check.

Earlier I rated this restaurant with only four stars due to the removal of the deep fried jalapeños from the menu. They have since re added them to the menu along with ALL YOU CAN EAT Baby back rib Thursdays. Now we're talking!!!

On a rainy day in September, after bumming around all of the shops we came across this hidden gem of a dive. Friendly staff, cozy booths in the bar and delicious food. We shared an order of buffalo wings which did not disappoint and each had a cup of their signature Green Chile Stew. Perfection! Smokey, flavorful and hearty. I asked for the recipe but it is a well guarded secret. Husband had their Dirty Red Head and said it was good.

Overall Tubac Jacks is a good little Tourist restaurant, and the service was good. But... A few things bugged me. A tiny 1 avocado serving of Guacamole without chips for $4? Even if it is a side dish that's just bad form. Then an order of quesadillas advertised as vegetarian with calabacitas(squash) with mushrooms and cheese had no mushrooms, but did have bits if bacon throughout and when asked about the mushrooms, the waitress after checking to see no mushrooms, came back with a single raw mushroom cut up on a plate. When we pointed out that rhere were pieces of bacon in the quesadillas she said, "yes that's right" as if to say that's the way it was made but did say she would tell the owner, but we never heard from the owner even though we were there another 25 minutes or so. The last thing is that I got wings and onion rings and they generously gave me a single napkin. I finally had to ask for additional napkins.

Dear Tubac Jack, Thank you for making panko crusted fried FRESH jalapeños. Because of you, I was able to laugh at my two friends who ended up having to lather their tongues with ranch dressing using a butter knife. (I'm pretty sure they wish they had a tub of ranch to...uh...sit in later that evening!) This New Mexico girl is used to the burn and welcomes it! They were spicy and tasty and i had to have them in my mouth! Your burgers and fries were yummy, but they ain't got "Jack" on them there jalapeños! You also have a mighty fine micro brew hefenweisen as well! I don't know how to spell hefenweisen...and I'm a teacher! It's Friday, grammar has to take a break at some point! Love, Ella
