Came here just after lunch time, so it was more about the food than drinking, though a few beers were had. 4 stars for this restaurant in a tourist town with few options. In other words, I probably wouldn't have ranked it has highly had this been a restaurant where I live. It's a cutesy saloon and the waitresses are dressed as old school bar maids. The service was decent; I could imagine it being bad if more tables were full. My husband sadly had a pathetic looking pizza, but I had the "Crystal Palace burger" with cheese and it was quite good. Our friend quite enjoyed the "Cowboy Burger" so I'd definitely have to recommend getting a burger if you come here.

The food was good. They even had a gluten free beer, bread and pizza for those who need it. The gluten free pizza was good. The service was excellent!

We ate at three restaurants in Tombstone and this was by far our favorite. We sat at the bar and Austin took great care of us. The food was fresh and delicious. We each had a special prime rib sandwich.

Very friendly with fast service and yummy food. I think this is the best place in town. Headed over to Crystal Palace after a terrible experience at the Longhorn. The female bartender was sweet, friendly and attentive. Food arrived quickly and piping hot. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and buffalo burger - both were delicious. Oh, and our drinks were terrfic too. An authentic and all-around pleasing experience.

Great bar. Really old and wonderfully restored. Great tin ceilings and lighting. All that is offset by the disgusting food that is brought to you in a snack bar plastic picnic basket by some cretin redneck, The food is gross and so are you for taking a vacation in this piece of crap town.

I am a Tucson Native and travel to Tombstone often with my husband, adult kids, and friends. We go about 3-5 times per year. We like the Crystal Palace and have attended its New Year's event a few times. The food is decent and at a good price. The burgers are pretty tasty, as are the ribs, and their salads are big. It's not fancy fare, nothing too exotic, just standard fare. So, if you are expecting chef, culinary creations that you cannot pronounce, this is not it. Just good food at a good price. Usually service is really good. This past visit it was very slow and our server was quite frankly, not very bright. She was extremely forgetful and tried to make these cute little comments/excuses. We found this a bit annoying. But she is very young, so we cut her some slack. On our past two visits we have been disappointed at the bar service. That is the only reason this rating is not higher. Several issues we have noticed: one is that the service is super slow, and a few of their female bartenders are not at all friendly. One of the bartenders was downright rude to me and my girlfriend. The bar was not at all busy, so no excuse for the lack of attentiveness or even a smile. We have also noticed a decline in the knowledge of bartenders to make certain common drinks. We can see the liquor bottles on the bar, so we know they have the ingredients, but they don't seem to know how to do much beyond a standard shot and soda, margarita or daiquiri. So, we feel a bit disappointed about that and hope it is an issue of new wait staff/needing some experience and this won't be the trend. That said, the food is usually very good, the prices are moderate/affordable, and if you stick to a beer or simple drink, you will likely enjoy it very much.

Best food in Tombstone. Seriously, most of the places are just tourist traps. I get the feeling this place has a following. One of the original buildings...beautiful bar. Decent menu selections, including salads. To the reviewer who thought it wasn't family-friendly...it's a bar. With bikers. And Tombstone had a red-light district back in day. This isn't meant to be Disneyland. I'm sure there is far worse on TV and walking around Walmart...

My wife and I had ribeye steaks at the Crystal Palace. The steaks had good flavor, but they were very tough. They were cooked to our order of medium and medium rare, so no complaint there. Service was slow the couple of times that we went there (stopped in for a beer once and steaks on our other visit). For all it's history and hype, it wasn't a very welcoming atmosphere.

If you want nachos on par with your average gas-station nachos this could be the place for you.

Fun. The food is ok. The service is real slow. So if you go, expect it. I gave it a 3 star only because of the history of the place. I'm glad I went just to feel the place.

Overpriced burgers that are not even worth the amount you pay for. We ordered a burger called " double me up burger" which cost $11, turned out to look like a $1 burger from the McDonald menu. Their homemade fried were pathetic. Not too impressed. We've ordered $10 burgers somewhere else and their 10 times better than here. Cheap and sloppy.

I had some family in town last week, and we decided to drive to Tombstone and check out the town. My mom, sister, and I were extremely excited to go there, seeing as we are huge fans of the show "Ghost Hunters" (Don't make fun! That show is sooo good, I am addicted. lol) Well we decided to eat here at the Crystal Palace and I am glad we did. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with the onion rings, and it was delicious. My sandwich had the perfect amount of sauce, and was just great tasting all around. My onion rings were pretty good too. One of my sisters got the Nachos, they were probably some of the best nachos I have ever tried (she was so sad that we live 3 hours away or we would come back for those nachos). The rest of my family all said there food was really good, even my 3 year old nieces' grilled cheese was something to brag about. The waitress was good, she checked on us a lot and always made sure we were doing ok and that our drinks were filled up. My only complaint about the place was that either the AC wasn't working, or they didn't have it on so it was pretty hot inside. It was about 105 degrees out that day, but the majority of our party was from Arizona so we were doing okay, but I think the Chicago family members were not enjoying it so much. Overall, I would recommend this place, if I was with friends instead of my entire family I would of enjoyed the bar. And GET THE NACHOS! Yummy!

"Ok partner, slide up to the bar. Anything you want . . .if you don't have cash just hand over a few of your bullets and we'lll give you a little slug of booze." That is how the shot glass was invented according to RJ our bartender at the Crystal Palace. Learned a lot of interesting facts while at the long beautiful bar at this here saloon. For example, to this date the corner outside the saloon still holds the record for the number of homicides in the U.S. (Who knows if this is just urban legend but the fact was stated with a really straight face.) Tombstone was a wild town. My husband and I wound up back at the Crystal Palace 3 times in one day! People were very friendly, drinks were reasonable and the grub was great. We eyed a handsome steak cooked to perfection as we were walking out after a little afternoon drink. Later in the day we decided to go back for an early dinner of a generous certified angus steak prepared just the way we liked it with sides, all for about $20 bucks excluding drinks. We shared the steak and it was just right. The steak turned out to be as good or better than the tonier eateries we've had expensive steaks at in L.A., Chicago, S.F. ofr N.Y. An added kick was that our cowboy server turned out to be from Boston. Who ever heard of a cowboy in Tombstone with a thick Bostonian accent - maybe when Tombstone was a silver mining town! If you want to hang around a little longer you can plan a game or two of pool. Okay, it is touristy but what did you expect - you're in Tombstone!

After rollin' into town and restin' up a bit, we decided to take a walk around town to look for something to eat and drink. Having heard that the Crystal Palace was a place to check out, we stopped in. Glad we did. The drinks were good. A little expensive, but the service and the drink quality more than made up for that. After all... It's only money. We also ordered food. Everything from burgers, patty melts, wings, onion rings to a taco salad. I had the taco salad and I can honestly say, it was among the very best that I've ever had. All of the other guys were fully satisfied as well. As for our service and our server Susanna... not only was she as pretty as could be, but it was obvious that she really enjoys her work. That was evidenced by her efficiency and the friendly way by which she went about it. The atmosphere was also noteworthy. The wooden back bar is awesome and the rest of the place is also very well decorated. The bottom line... don't miss it.

Burgers, Beer, fish n chips, and more. Ambiance is pretty cool, looking much like the place did in historical photos. Doors are left wide open, I'm assuming it's because they are trying to circulate the air. The only problem with this is flies - numerous flies trying to help us enjoy our late lunch. The peach ale wasn't all that peachy but it was refreshing. The battered fish sandwich was pretty good. The fries were kind of "meh" and my daughter's sliders were on par with what I remember from school lunch burgers (blech). Service was decent but not awesome - it was well past the lunch rush and still an hour or two before dinner might start in earnest. Servers were trying to re-stock table items and get their clean ups done, so attentiveness was okay considering everything. Price wasn't bad. If I were to return to Tombstone, yes I would probably return to the Crystal Palace to eat, but I would check some other options as well.

Travelling to Tombstone ? Crystal Palace Saloon is a great place for pub and traditional fare . I had a great tasting Angus hamburger and my wife had a delicious BLT , both come with side order of fries .

  • Cash K.

Crystal Palace is a gem. Our waitress was LOVELY, our beers never empty and the music played all night long. Easily had the best BLT of my life here (Texas toast for a BLT, you guys are animals and I love it). Music was great and they even let some of the local teens on stage to play surprisingly wonderful Nirvana covers. I was pleased, I was full and dare I say a bit wobbly by the time that we left but we had a great time here and would recommend it to anyone passing through. Also, if you're getting pizza out here in the middle of the desert so very far from the great american pizza belt, and you're expecting it to be our of this world, you're out of your mind. Stick to the classics yelpers, you wouldn't ask a yank to make you sausage gravy, don't ask a cowboy for a pizza. Keep rockin' Crystal Palace.

After some pretty poor food last trip (at a different location), I was concerned that it would suck. Overall it wasn't bad. Veggies were probably from Frozen but the chicken and ribs were both tasty. Service was good too.

Wow...Don't go here! NASTY heated up frozen hamburgers, the pizza tasted like a heated up $0.99 totinos Pizza. Watered down beer $5 a glass when accross the street at the Dragon beer was a dollar a BOTTLE . I CANNOT Believe I paid $46.00 3 small meals!! The only good thing about it the old style saloon. I'm so disappointed!!?

Amazing fries! Super quick (granted it was really empty when I went in) and really friendly service. Great looking historical place and when we asked our bartender a question about the place we got not just an answer but a great little history lesson on the place.

Just know right now the menu is written on the back of a ticket book. They explained it was "limited menu" because they are going to remodel kitchen. Not really worth the price as for a group of 7 with a child, child not eating the bill was 200.00.

Not sure where to start. We came to tombstone from Phoenix and went to the Crystal Palace Saloon. They were busy so we waited for our server to get our drink order. A different server named Robin came up and got our order. She denied to serve a beer to me. Which is fine. But she was VERY rude about. Extremely rude. We weren't impressed with our food. I got the BLT and the mayo tasted disgusting. Then we were transferred to a different server Tiffany who was GREAT. Very polite and professional with her job. The manager RJ came over and talked with us for a bit. Very nice guy. Discounted our ticket. The reason I give it four stars is because the management and Tiffany. If you get Tobin as a server hope you enjoy her attitude!

We had hoped to enjoy a slice of pizza in Tombstone. This was not in the cards. There's a sign in front of this place that says "We have good whiskey and tolerable water." The pizza was not as good as their water purports to be. The service was on par with the pizza. My wife ordered the Chicken Alfredo pizza, and received the BBQ chicken pizza. An understandable mistake if the place is slammed, but we were the first customers of the day -- the only customers at this point in time. I know waiting tables is not an easy job, but when the place is absolutely dead getting orders right goes a long way. In her defense, getting the correct order couldn't have possibly mattered. The "pizza" came out cut into tiny squares. The crust was cracker thin, but oddly stale -- as if the dough had been made weeks before and then steamed to reconstitute it. This is far and away the worst pizza I've ever had. It was so bad that I didn't want to make issue of the missed order, because if they offered me 12 free pizzas, I could not be compelled to eat them. I can honestly say -- without hyperbole -- we would have been better off going to the grocery store and purchasing a "Tombstone Pizza". In a sense, it was period accurate. I genuinely believe that the pizza at this establishment was made by someone who has never seen or tasted pizza, but rather designed their recipe based on a description of pizza they overheard bits and pieces of. I wasn't a fan of the fact that they let kids in there. Half of the building is dedicated to liquor, but that's more of a personal grievance - and not a valid criticism of the restaurant. Unfortunately they seem to be happy being a tourist trap that doesn't stand on its own merits as a restaurant. The decor is fantastic, and the staff seems friendly enough. With work and attention to quality, this establishment could be a 'can't-miss attraction'. A destination rather than a waypoint.

The food is okay, but the service is great. You will have a wait to be seated, but you get to listen to a live band. However, the band is a bit too loud for such a small area. Finally, the place does have a small dance floor.

    (3)
  • Chelsey H.

Get the ribs. They are so good and juicy they fall off the bone. I would have given this place 5 if the wait wasn't so long and the service wasn't so slow.

I had the roast beef with gravy that came with mashed potatoes and oh man it was YUMMY! My husband had the chicken fried steak and that was also great! He had the IPA on tap that he loved and I had a margarita that was blended really well! Definitely come eat here if you are in the area!

We actually tried twice to eat at Big Nose Kate's but couldn't get anyone in the place to pay attention to us and seat us so we went across the street and tried the Crystal Palace Saloon- and we are happy we ended up there- Ordered wings and a burger and it was amazing!! Service was fabulous, enjoyed watching the Final 4, and the live music!! Great place to stop!!

The Crystal Palace Saloon is another one of Tombstone, Arizona's historic landmarks. Originally the Golden Eagle Brewing Company, The Crystal Palace Saloon was originally on a small lot of about 50 by 30. While we didn't get a chance to eat here due to time constraints you can bet that we will finish the review in October when we visit for Helldorado Weekend. The Crystal Palace Saloon is one of Tombstone's first saloons and has a very long bar. They are known for their burgers and steaks. I can tell you the beer is cold and the whiskey flows freely. Even if you don't eat here, I suggest you stop in for a soda or cold beer depending on your preference. The Crystal Palace Saloon is a must see while in Tombstone.

We chose this place based on the reviews and our surrounding options. Service was incredibly slow; we waited 10 minutes to be greeted and another 10 minutes to get our drinks. Every other table around us was waiting too...and it wasn't even that busy! The pizza and cheesesteak sub was just "ok". The burger was flat out gross; it tasted like a frozen patty straight out of a box. No flavor or seasoning. The server didn't even inquire why it wasn't eaten, he just took the plate away. Maybe he's used to seeing that here. The best part of our meal was discovering Sarsaparilla, a bottled soft drink that is similar to rootbeer, but better. I'm kicking myself for not bringing some back home!

  • Shawni S.

Don't let the high star rating fool you! If you read the reviews closely, they all comment that the food isn't that great. This was consistent with our experience. I had a burger. The patty was grey inside--a clear indication that this was once (ten minutes prior) a frozen patty. The flavor wasn't bad...if I was reviewing frozen food companies!! Not what I was hoping for at a highly rated restaurant. My date had the open faced prime rib sandwich--he's actually unsure what kind of meat it really was. An hour after leaving the restaurant, he became very ill. Although the people working there were nice, I'm not giving this place a high star rating because who wants to eat at a place that doesn't have good food? I don't care how nice the people are--maybe I would go back for a beer after dinner.

My wife and I came here for dinner specifically for the steaks. The service was good and like many saloons they were playing the movie Tombstone on their big screen TV's. We ordered the ribeye steak. Upon arrival it was very apparent that these were not ribeyes but striploins just by their shape alone. Then the taste test confirmed this and the toughness gave the molars a workout. I mentioned this to the aloof waitress and she did not pay any attention to my comment about them being striploins instead of ribeyes we ordered. She asked how they were and walked away. We also walked away from this beer joint and won't return. This place serves up deception in the name of making a Buck!!

BAR REVIEW ONLY We came in on a Saturday night and they had a funk band playing... Which I was a little shocked for a cowfolk town... But the band rocked the house, and we had the greatest time dancing and interacting with the band and all the other patrons. I am giving them two stars because the bartender was a _ _ _ _ _ . Not friendly, no smile, no interaction, no hospitality... Just plain ol rude! My friend stood there for 10 minutes to get us drinks, and nothing, but she was sure to serve everyone around her. She asked me to try and get the drinks instead and I obliged, I waited about 5 minutes before she would serve me and the bar wasn't overly busy either and there was also a male bartender who didn't even blink in our direction. I never understand why any bartender would act in this manner being that I have bartended myself... You at the very least make eye contact, smile, and let them know you'll be there shortly. But Noooooo! Not this gal, she had such a bent look on her face which was too bad, because the rest of our experience there was awesome, and tough shit for her since I am one of the best tippers around and she blew it. I'd come back if they had a good band, but I wouldn't even order a drink from this sour puss.

My husband and I came in here for lunch on a Saturday. I ordered the nachos as my meal and my husband had the BBQ sandwich. The nachos were average. I did appreciate the red, white, and blue chips considering it was forth of July weekend. The husband much enjoyed the BBQ sandwich served with fries. The meat was tender but the taste was also average. The 4 stars is due to the service. The bartender was friendly and attentive. The bar is also well stocked and good selection on tap.

The Crystal Palace is very cold when it comes to a Southwestern bar atmosphere the French fries are wonderful however the service is very slow I've ordered a beer and it is taking forever please understand that what I'm trying to say here it is my wife is giving me a hard time as I drink this beer she's confused about what good service really is I will take care of that lesson later.

Loved the time we spent here! We sat at the bar on a Monday afternoon and had a beer and lunch. I agree with others, service was quite slow, but our server was adorable and very friendly. Prices were reasonable. The bar is beautiful and would've loved to be here in the evening having drinks.

I brought 5 people here today, and were quite satisfied. We all had burgers except my mom, who had grilled chicken with mashed potatoes. She said the potatoes were quite good, not from a box of course, but also with seasoning and some skins in it. I actually had the veggie burger, which almost always SUCKS. But here, it was GREAT! Fries were good, onion rings ok. The onion rings need to come with a dipping sauce though, they are a little off by themselves. Nothing wrong with them - just need a dip. Historic bar part is really cool, and the actors from OK corral come down between shows and get pops / hang out.

This is a great spot to grab a drink and a bite to eat. Their food is excellent and the service has always been good. It is a little touristy and pricey, but a lot better than some of the other nearby places.

This is a fun place to eat. Good food, drink, and atmosphere. Don't go here if you're expecting a fancy place to eat. Do go here if you're expecting a historic place that still pulls off the old west feel. Just remember Tombstone is nothing more than a tourist trap if all you do is walk around buying trinkets. Make sure to take in a few shows and sit down at a few bars. It will make you appreciate historic Tombstone so much more.

Attempted to eat here for my first visit in 2013. I waited and waited and waited to be seated and nobody even spoke to me. I went to Big Nose Kate's and glad I did. I tried again in 2014, twice. Again, not one employee offered to seat me or inform me how long it would be. A waitress did seat a couple in line behind me but I was never spoken to. Too bad, I'm a BIG tipper. I left and went to BNK where I'm never let down. From what I've witnessed, Crystal Palace is where all of the locals go to get wasted. And they do get wasted, annoying, obnoxious and they are never asked to behave or leave. It's definitely a party atmosphere. Not for tourists or families.

We had dinner here last night, and was a great experience. Server was friendly and attentive. We came early, 4:30, and watched the place fill up by 5:30. Had great ribs with cowboy potatoes, green beans and Texas toast. Hubby had steak, mashed potatoes, corn, and Texas Toast. Only two desserts, but both wonderful. I had the friend ice cream, husband had the raspberry cheesecake. Yummers. Also, a great bar. Would recommend this place. Also, it is handicapped accessible with ramps. The bathrooms ares not billed as wheelchair accessible, so no railings, but plenty big enough to maneuver a wheelchair.

I haven't tried much of the food aside from the dry rub cajun wings and I definitely recommend those if you're a wing fan. Good seasoning and crispy! Fun place to watch bands up on the stage and the bar is huge so you can almost always get a seat.

One if the best places to soak up the old west Tombstone vibe! Decent food, great drinks and a good selection of hard liquor make it a "must go to" in Tombstone. The women in saloon girl outfits add to the ambience, keep an eye out for Celeste, one of the bar managers, who works most Friday and Saturday nights. She's their cover girl and is as sharp as she is good looking.. It's also a great place to watch people; particularly if there's a bike run in town... Check it out!

Great food.....try the buffalo This place is kinda like what hooters would be like in the 1800's based on how the servers dress if they were open back then. based on my rating of the place, you can tell that i don't think thats a bad thing.

We really liked this place the best on Allen Street. Positive: Fab grilled chicken sandwiches, they didnt have a kids menu but they did have kid friendly items like grilled cheese, hot dog and nachos, the food came out fast and was very fresh, loved the look of the restaurant Negative: the waitress while very attentive was not very friendly or happy looking.

The look of this place is old school and the vibe is cool. Drinks are meh and the prices are eh. The service is whatevs and both times I've visited the entertainment has been w-w-whaaaat!!? The first time karaoke was happening and honestly, I thought I had taken acid without knowing. There were cowboys in full on Western ensemble, including pistols, drinking alone and occasionally getting up to sing an old jam. The best was when a drunk cowboy sang Hey Jude, off key and off beat, what a cutie. Totally made my night! The second time I visited a local band was playing. I will admit, they are crowd pleasers, complete with the lead singer dancing with the crowd and doing a Michael Jackson impersonation. But, the talent was lacking. We drank our drinks and moseyed on outta there to smoke in the streets with locals. Good times and good vibes, but Big Nose Kate's seems to have better talent, at least both time I've been. If only the Crystal Palace crowd crossed the street over there, now THAT would be a fun night!

Burger was tasty, but not too much to offer in Tombstone these days. Repro historic bar was really nice (I ate at it) If I went back to Tombstone ever again (doubtful) I might eat here again. Funny dramatic interpretation of the start of the OK corral fight (although I didn't realize it at the time, only later after seeing the recreation of the fight itself). Yes its a tourist den, but the whole town is!

Have been to Tombstone twice in the past two years (from So Cal). Both times a stop at the Crystal Palace was A MUST!! I am a vegetarian now, but at the time I was a meat eater and the burgers were AWESOME!! I loved the atmosphere and both times our servers were great. Wish we could have experienced the nightlife of the Crystal Palace and Tombstone. Next time...

I'm not sure how strongly I would try to convince someone to go to the Crystal Palace, but I don't think I would push someone away from it either. You're getting to eat in a genuinely old establishment here, and the awesome metal ceiling is left over from the 19th century. The big, gorgeous wooden bar is a replica, but it's modeled after the original that was apparently lost in a fire. The stuff on the walls is a mixed bag, but some of what you're seeing is from the original saloon, including a beautiful old Wheel of Fortune game. I learned after I left that they also serve an old school rye whiskey -- Old Overholt -- that has been made continuously since 1810 and was supposedly Doc Holliday's libation of choice. So that's all kind of cool. The food itself is middling, which doesn't mean bad -- it just means middling. The service gets slow when the place is crowded, so if you're feeling hurried you might get frustrated (though you probably should just stop hurrying). The servers themselves are all young women crammed into corsets that have the potential to be ridiculous on certain body types, and while we didn't find them at all offensive, I could see why some might (see the other reviews). The same could be said about some of the wall decorations, which included a few posters with pictures of the girls looking particularly generously-proportioned for their attire. Having seen some of the reviews warning us about a lewd and offensive atmosphere, we were actually kind of surprised by how tame the place was, but for those with more Puritanical sensibilities I could understand taking your business elsewhere. All in all, though, if you're looking for lunch in Tombstone and you aren't the sort of person to get offended over some mild suggestive imagery, this is probably a good bet for you.

It's am impressive looking place and I truly appreciate the history. It's an old building and they have tried to preserve the 'feel' of a late 1800's saloon. But, like many other things in Tombstone, it's pretty touristy all the way down to the food. Mostly you'll find crowd pleasers (burgers, chicken wings, chicken fingers, a few salads, etc.) THe burgers and fries we got were ok - a little overdone, loaded with cheese, but nothing about them makes them stand out in any way. Service was reasonably good. It was busy and the waitresses and runners were working hard. As long as they work hard, I don't complain much. It would be great if Tombstone could support an authentic saloon experience, but I'm sure the bulk of tourists just want their burger and fries. Overall, ok if you are hungry but nothing special from the food perspective.

I live in this town, I've literally tried every food source we have here. If your looking for a burger this is the spot!! Everything else is satisfactory as well. Never really liked drinking here on the contrary. Always hot, and crowded. I don't think people really know they have a good size menu because it's a bar and not a restraunt. But if your looking for a nice lunch don't waste time going anywhere else. No where is in particularly gross. But crystal palace has a better lunch menu than anywhere else

This place was maybe a bit too cowboy for me, but it is a great bar. I enjoyed myself while there. This bar apparently is the oldest bar in Tombstone (open since 1879)? It has beautiful woodwork and the rest of the decor is nice as well. My husband, his cousin and I came in for a "couple" drinks and ended up staying til closing time-at midnight on a Friday. However our bartender/server Celeste was wonderful. She made great drinks and was very good to us even when the guys were getting a little too drunk. I asked her to recommend a place for us to stay the night and she called over to the Silver Nugget and advised me they had a room open, so that was good. They also had live music here at Crystal Palace (again, country, but I do like some of that) until closing. Overall, this bar was A-ok.

This place gets 3 stars just because it's in Tombstone, otherwise it would be like 1.75. Food is OK (for Tombstone), prices are fair and in general, it's one of the few places to grab a bite. Besides a forgettable place, I have to point out that they had the TV in a show of Tru television which was so inappropriate, specially at lunch time. I had my kid with me and they were showing beatings, stabbings, etc. Lack of common sense.

The food was ok but service was slooooow! I noticed this so I asked for my check early, thank goodness. It took nearly 30 minutes to get it. It wasn't as if he forgot. He would walk by the table and say he was going to grab it but then would go and do something else. I get being busy but dropping a check takes 2 seconds. Additionally, the appetizer I ordered was brought out without individual plates. It was a huge appetizer and I was there with children. Plates should have been obvious but when I asked, he looked at me like I had a this eye. The server was nice and perhaps new and food was decent but I think we'll check out something else next we make it to Tombstone.

Great burgers! I hadn't had a hamburger in a few years, so it was nice to have one that was well worth it. I had a the Cowboy burger and loved the BBQ sauce. We left before the band started to play, but it would certainly be a great place for drinks with friend for a night out.

Came in for the Tatonka Burger - YUM! Loved the history of the place and the people were friendly and treated us great. The magnificent carved bar was a piece of art to look at. The only thing that I didn't like (and didn't notice at first because it was behind me) was the wall with pictures of half naked women slapping each others bare cheeks, and not the cheeks on their faces.......and since my 12 year old's eyes were as big as a Cheshire cat's - I had to turn around and look too. Ewww...kind of unappetizing and carnal! Ruined a good Buffalo Burger.....Had I seen that wall first (or had my son said "LOOK MA!" I would have went somewhere else. I know I was in Tombstone - in a saloon - but - you'd think they would cover those things up during the day with families coming in and out. I didn't mind the authentic Victorian oil paintings but the modern pictures of naked women posing was too much. My own fault I guess. Needless to say my son got more than an eyeful! Otherwise - ok place to eat if you can pretend you are not in a strip joint are not with children and want to party like you are in the Old West, but just to be fair - where were all the photos of half-naked men? LOL

Busy busy place!! Besides the cool saloon look, the food is pretty tasty! Our waitress wouldn't come around too often and it took a while to get someone to notice us, but they did their best considering they only had 2 servers for the whole place. The band was setting up and it seemed as if it would be a cool place to hang out and enjoy the band, but we had prior engagements. Overall, I would definitely come back next time I'm in the town too tough to die! :)

I'm here for lunch, and it's Easter Sunday. This is supposed to the original saloon from Arizona Territory and Tomstone heydays. It's a very long, rectangular room with a very high tin-covered ceiling. There's a small stage where some game is being projected onto a screen. I've ordered the special of the day, a New York strip steak, medium rare, with mashed potatoes and scalloped corn. Unfortunately, there's no vegetable available that isn't classed as a carbohydrate unless I order a side salad for more money. Water to drink. The steak was good - tender, about one inch thick cooked, large. I brought about two-thirds home with me to enjoy. The mashed potatoes were the usual. I'm not sure what is in scalloped corn besides corn, but there was definitely something else - it was too dark to see the contents clearly. (I should have ordered the green beans instead.) The above meal cost $19.

Man oh man! The building burned down in 1881 & was rebuilt in 1882... This saloon serves the yummiest ribs this side of I don't know where. And the 'cryin' burger? So damned good! Now I can finish my stroll (roll) down Tombstone's main street!

Had an awesome lunch here today! I was skeptical it would be overpriced and average and was wrong on both accounts. I had the Sombrero burger and it was truly a great burger. It came w fries and all for 8.99 which I thought was reasonable. We had 4 other people who all had above average food (burgers and grilled chicken salad). Our server had pink hair and was top notch in timeliness, friendliness. I would easily eat there again.

Large beers, good chili and a very good Wyatt Earp... What's not to like. We would have gone back here, except they had karaoke, and we weren't in the mood for off key country, but I would hit this place up again.

Checked out the Crystal Palace for lunch during my trip to Tombstone. Service and food was good. Nothing great, but nothing bad either. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. I really enjoyed the fried steak and country gravy, but the corn and mashed potatoes were average. The mashed potatoes tasted too much like sour cream. My wife thought her chicken sandwich was also good. She really like the fries served with her sandwich. I'm sure this place really gets busy later in the afternoon and evening when people are there to drink. Huge bar with a wide varieties of liquor and beer. I think Hooters servers wear more clothes than the servers here.

I so wanted to like this place, so much so that I gave it two chances. All I can say is, if they're trying to enhance your old west experience by forgoing any type of customer service, they're doing a bang-up job. The boyfriend and I stopped in for a drink mid-afternoon and found a place at the bar. It was not busy, so I asked the bartender what time they closed. He seemed a little annoyed and said the kitchen closed at 8. Not noticing the bartender's obvious lack of interest in appeasing a couple of tourists, my boyfriend goes on to ask if any parts of the bar or building are original. The bartender says he doesn't know, then turns to another patron and (quite loudly) complains about tourists asking him questions he doesn't know the answer to. Not wanting to write off the entire place due to one bad apple, we returned for dinner. Big mistake. The burgers were mediocre, but I wouldn't have such a bitter taste in my mouth if it weren't for our incredibly ungracious server. She left us with our food for over 45 minutes, and when we got up to ask someone at the bar for our bill he went to get her. She couldn't be bothered to walk the check 10 feet over to us, so he acted as her courier. That sole employee is the only reason Crystal Palace gets 2 stars. Hey, I understand you are in a tourist area and you don't think you have to treat people with class because you'll never see us again. But don't think we won't tell our friends and families planning trips in the area to avoid your business. I would highly recommend Big Nose Kate's instead for anyone looking to get a drink without a side of 'tude

Had a nice visit with the folks...what drew us in was the great barbeque smell that seemed to be coming from here. Burger was average, but the folks split a half rack of ribs, which along with sides was just right for their smaller appetites. The meat slid right off the ribs-not bad at all. The place was packed but we still had good service.

Of a the places to find one of the best burgers I'd ever had, I certainly didn't expect it in the middle of the Arizona desert, and further didn't expect it to be served in a plastic basket by a bartender at a touristy-looking saloon that is probably better known for its night life. I had the "Duke" burger, which was a perfectly-cooked 1/3 pound lean burger with bacon, cheese, BBQ sauce, and (here's the kicker) Roast Beef! I was there about a month ago and I haven't had another burger since - I just don't think I can top the Duke! My only complaint is that it's so far away from 'civilization'.

Bad bar service, and uncomfortable "diversity" But doesn't the name sound like a strip club? I was told to avoid most of the food in Tombstone, so I skipped the eating part and jumped right into the drinking part. Drinks were definitely cheap. I paid $22 for 5 beers, including tip. The bartender was pretty quick to serve us, but was a bit rude if you asked for anything other than what you were drinking. He forgot what I was drinking and I ended up paying for a beer that I don't drink. If you're a female and need to break the seal, beware of the bathroom door that locks you in. My friend almost got stuck in there, and we had to rescue another lady who went in after her. While we were drinking there was a mini western show that was kinda random and a bit ill-fitting. This cowboy was at a table drinking with some ladies when he got up and drunkenly stumbled around. When a waiter, who was dressed in modern jeans and t-shirt, approached him, the drunk shot him and the sheriff kicked him out. It felt very unsatisfying. Uncomfortable diversity: guy at the bar with the swastika tattooed to his bald head.

Holy cleavage! Don't get me wrong. I'm a female who loves checking out other women with my boyfriend but wow. The ladies there are really nice, super helpful with recommending specials and food. The pizza was surprisingly good there. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because it closes at 9 pm. I thought this was the wild west? And that's when the nice lady behind the bar turns into a demon woman yelling at everyone to get out. Really? Overall a nice place but be prepared to leave by 9. The historical factor is also nice. The bar is gorgeous.

They also had live music here at Crystal Palace (again, country, but I do like some of that) until closing. Overall, this bar was A-ok.

LOL

We've eaten here a couple times and it's always fun to see Doc Holliday or Wyatt Earp sitting out front shooting the breeze.

Great bar. Really old and wonderfully restored. Great tin ceilings and lighting. All that is offset by the disgusting food that is brought to you in a snack bar plastic picnic basket by some cretin redneck, The food is gross and so are you for taking a vacation in this piece of crap town.

Yummy!

  • Del R.

Get the ribs. They are so good and juicy they fall off the bone. I would have given this place 5 if the wait wasn't so long and the service wasn't so slow.
