It is my second time here and I enjoyed this place. Good food, friendly people, cheap drinks ...... well you have to wait till 5 pm when bar opens...... Don't like to buy from waitresses, they are a bad luck ! That is I guess why 4 stars. People smoke, but cleaning system must be good, as I do not smell much .

This place is not worth the trouble. The person seating us separated our party, we asked her if we could be closer but she gave an aggressive tone of voice, she started arguing in front of customers, which was very unprofessional and kept stating there was no room, however there was more than enough room to accommodate our party. We tried making the best of the situation regardless of the separation, but we had it when they gave us napkins with BLOOD! If you decide to come eat at cocopah, at least check the napkins and silverware for blood stains.

If you're expecting a casino comparable in size to Vegas or even San Diego, keep it moving. But keep in mind it's Yuma so deal with the cards you have. The size doesn't really bother me, at first i was surprised by the circular set up of slots, but it's not all that bad. You have a section for tables and whatnot, players club directly in the middle. Customer service was excellent. I had a host help me from the second I came in to when I left. Older gentleman, forgot his name :( but joking and gave me some helpful info for playing. The cafe was decent. $10 for an appetizer and a coke, which was more than enough. I stayed for maybe an hour tops, and left $800 richer. Go me.

I've been to some pretty crappy Indian casinos, but this one takes the cake. Open the door and it REEKS of cigarette smoke. Blackjack pit was small, with three tables open on a slow Thursday afternoon. Two lonely dealers at two empty tables ($15 min bet), and the $5 table full. If you want a fast-paced, one-on-one with the dealer experience at $15 a hand it rocks, and you're have great souvenir - the smell will linger on your clothes for days!

All I stay at are casinos, we like the food and gaming. the worst Indian casino we have ever seen is Cocopah! lied to our faces costing us dinner. when given opportunity to make it right, they choose to treat us like we didn't matter. if you patronize them in ANY way, you are throwing your money away! They did nothing but lie and misrepresent good business. only a FOOL spends money with Cocopah!

This place is a joke. They get mad when you win and they tell you to be quiet if you win. It's ridiculous. Make the extra hours trip to Vegas so you can express how you feel when you win. There is too many sore losers around.

The Cocopah Casino is just a terrible experience overall. Everything about it is managed in a bad fashion. I would never stay here over night. Everything from the service, to the food, to the facilities is poor and unprofessional. Don't go here. The Q is not far away, and I dont even like that place either... I dont believe in bash places, but this isnt bashing... theis is warning. Just read the other reviews, I'm sure they will sound like mine. ..und das ist nach der Kritiker

This was my first time to Cocopah. I entered through the main doors searching for a holiday party in the Cottonwood Room. My first impression was not good - the place absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. The crowd mostly consisted of elderly snowbirds. After arriving at the Cottonwood Room, I roamed around to find some water for our table [of eight] since none was immediately provided. Naturally, I went to ask the bartender who informed me that bottled water was available for $1/ bottle. I thought it was odd to pay for water at a holiday party (especially because it already cost $20/ person), but I went ahead and bought a bottle. After returning to the room, I asked a server if any water would be available for the evening. She pointed to a case hidden in the corner behind a Christmas tree, and informed me that the bartender in the adjacent hallway was allowed to sell water even though it was provided for free. Seriously!? I suggested that it would be ethical for the bartender to inform people that there was water available and that they did not need to buy any from him, but the server shrugged off my comment. I then proceeded to the bartender to suggest the same to him, and he insisted (in his own words) that he would continue his scam. Only after reporting the problem to a manager did the problem get resolved. Even then, the bartender never returned any of the money he made from selling the FREE waters. My irritation was not with the cost of the water but with the principle of the lack of ethics and professionalism of the staff. Plus, no customer should have to clear up such a ridiculous problem during a holiday party. Cocopah, not only did you not make me happy as a customer, but you messed with a yelper. Hopefully you learn your lesson. PS. I posted a pic of the bartender! :]

I love coming here for bingo on Fridays! Plus the Native Eatery has the best dessert- ask for the sweet fry bread and thank me later: Indian Frybread loaded down with strawberries, syrup, powdered sugar, cinnamon and a big helping of REALLY good vanilla ice-cream!

I have been here many times and I always enjoy my stays at the Cocopah Hotel! The staff is very helpful and courteous. I have been coming here for 7 yrs! I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The rooms are nice and big. When I stay here I get the mini suite. It has a living rm.,fridge,1 queen bed, 2 bathrooms w/ marble counter tops and a lrg. bathtub. They have a nice pool & jacuzzi, work out room, and a restaurant here. Also there is a nice walk way indoors that lead from the hotel to the casino. You never have to walk outside! In this walk way there is a gift shop and a food court. Outside of the hotel on the right, there is a bowling alley and game center. (new)which is walking distance also. Inside there is a food court and they also have cosmic bowling. If you are traveling with kids this is a great place to take them. I will always come back and stay at the Cocopah Hotel!

I stayed here while attending my daughters softball tournament. The staff was prompt to accommodated my request, but the transfer of cigarette smoke from the adjoining casino was a huge disappointment and so was the complimentary breakfast.

I was here for work for super bowl weekend (2008) The hotel portion had literally just opened and was very nice for a low/midrange hotel. The heated pool was a bunch of fun to sneak into late at night after a few martinis. No matter what you do don't take out your camera to show your friends pictures (much less take a picture), you'll promptly be escorted away from the casino. It might be secret spyware to cheat, a nuclear spewing weapon or record famous people(HAHA) or as far fetched as it may sound it could be digital photo display/taker. hmm The casino was alright, nothing like vegas but looked nice and had all the normal games and fun. I didn't get to play poker because of my usual run in with the law. Gawd I'm such a trouble maker. Food, agree with first reviewer. YUCK I wouldn't let homeless people eat there.

They have a very unwelcoming casino. Went there with my wife tonight, just to go to the buffet. We entered at the convention center area (near the gift shop) and were carded when we asked for directions to the buffet. Literally seconds after entering the building. Then we ate at the buffet (which was a big disappointment). As soon as we walked out we were carded yet again, and our arms were stamped to show that we are over 21. This was before we ever entered the actual casino area. We're both 32 years old and were treated like we were kids trying to sneak in or something. I think we were older than the first security guy and not much younger than the second one. Its a shame because I actually liked the look of the casino. I won't ever set foot in there again though. BTW, I had heard they have a great seafood buffet on fridays with king crab and shrimp and all that. I guess they used to, but now it consists of a few types of dried out looking fish and some tasteless prime rib. I had a bread stick and half a bowl of clam chowder. Not many clams in the chowder though. Yes, they have adjusted the price of the buffet since they don't serve crab, but man is it ever a lame attempt at a buffet. I felt very cheated even at the new lower price. I do have to say that our waitress was friendly and a great server, the only good thing about our whole Cocopah experience.

My husband booked a room at this "resort" because we were coming to see the fight there and it would be convenient. The convenience was the only good thing about staying here. My husband booked a king suite, and was told had a king bed and a jacuzzi. We got a queen bed and a shower with a broken handle, so you had to hold the shower hose while you took a shower. The blow drier was located in the bathroom closest to the front door and not the bathroom where the shower was. When my husband tried to get another room, he was told that the hotel was sold out because of the fight and there was nothing they could do. The fitness room was more like a fitness closet-- there was a cheap treadmill and two other machines and the only free weights were 2, 3, and 5 lbs. You could get a better workout outside. I would recommend staying somewhere else for your money.
