Honestly, I had low expectations based on the prior reviews. However, I left incredibly happy that we had decided to try El Rancho. I used to work in an old Mexican restaurant in downtown Phoenix. The food was not the healthiest, but to this day, I still crave their enchilada style burritos. El Rancho definitely satisfied that craving! At El Rancho I had their $3.95 special: Enchilada style green chili bean burrito. It was delicious, and (unfortunately for my waistline) I ate every bite of the humongous burrito. My fiancé had three tacos, which he also loved. Our waitress could not have been any sweeter or welcoming. She completed the entire experience for us. The decor is the typical cheesy sombreros and bright colors, but I wouldn't have a Mexican restaurant in Snowflake, AZ any other way! Thanks for a great experience, El Rancho!

Love their salsa, it's the best. $1 Taco Wednesday lunch is a good deal and great place to meet friends or call for take out. Fried ice cream is yummy too. Servers are always friendly and fast!

The only reason I'm giving a three star is because there pie is phenomenal. Other than that, their food is terrible. Everything I have order from there has been nasty: hamburger, a beef sandwich (worst of all), corn dog, country fried steak, their breakfast, etc.

I love Good Mexican Food - sadly it isn't here. I live here in Town and would LOVE a place that had something I craved because I can't make it as good at home. Yeah, it isn't here. They take no pride in their food. I'm sorry to say it is run down, dirty, no flavor, nothing is made fresh and to my knowledge there is no Full time chef. They take no pride in anything that is done here. Dirty and no redeeming quality. I am constantly reminded of El Rancho whenever I watch Kitchen Nightmares...hoping the owner will call and ask for help. Maybe with the help of Yelp, we can convince them it needs something. If Yelp can't help, maybe Gordon Ramsey can. I have not completed this review, and it has sat for quite awhile before I posted it. It has gotten worse in the last few years. It was time to post. I won't go back until Gordon Ramsey invites me.

I have been here several times over the last three years. It has been going down hill for years. Now it has hit bottom. This place is one of the worst restaurant I have been to. All their food is canned, not even quality canned food. The red sauce is only red in color, totally bland. The taste is like, well kinda like steamed polenta. If you took a totally bland canned flour paste, then put some chili powder in it to give it some color. But then steamed the flavor right out of it. Yeah that's what it was like!! I would like to give less than one star.
