great burger. must stop on the way to grand canyon. very interesting and lot of characteristics.

my favorite place in seligman, az! it's REALLY WEIRD here... kind of hippie, old people, lounging around, playing jazz, you'll see random squirrel figures and dinosaurs. it's that old town milkshake, barber shop, elvis, marilyn monroe feel, but just quirky. it's hard to explain. you'll either love it or wonder where the hell you are and how to get out there asap.

We stopped here to eat on our way to Flagstaff. The burgers were quite tasty.

This place was great and super cute! The girl who helped us (I think she was blonde?) was so sweet. She played a silly prank on one of the Japanese tourists in front of us. Our kid wanted exactly what they got because he's a weirdo, so the girl gave it to him. Then we got him a big ice cream and I got a burrito. Both bomb. This was such an awesome and friendly place. It exuded so much positive energy. There was a lot to read, look at and take pictures of. The whole town is pretty small and walkable, full of gift shops and little places to eat. Definitely worth the short stop off I-40.

First stop from Kingman, AZ and really hungry. Owner had lots of silly props to get my attention, and I had the crinkle fries and a fish sandwich. Honestly, the BEST fish sandwich I have ever eaten!!! I gave the fried smiley face thing to my nephew, and lucky we beat the rush of a tour bus group that backed up the small entrance outside under the awnings. Lots of kitschy but beautiful signs, art, and antique vehicles to view plus kozy atmosphere that felt just like a drive-in from back in the 1960's. Other than the wind/rain storm that blew up on us, it was a great place to relax and grab a delicious bite that stayed with me the entire day!

Fantastic stop on Route 66! We wanted a local joint and stopped in on our way to the Grand Canyon on June 25, 2015. Delicious burgers and shakes!! The sweet potato fries were a little overcooked for me, but other than that, service was great and so was the food! Another neat thing about the place is all the different currencies and business cards from all over the world and photos from all the way back when they first opened.

  • Dave D.

The best thing about this place is the quirkiness! Order "inside" at the counter, but don't expect to be left alone while you do. You'll be lucky if you get back out the door without getting squirted with fake ketchup or mustard! Expect to get harassed, or even made fun of. The décor is Route 66 chic. There isn't that much seating and when a tour bus pulls up expect to be sharing a picnic table with a stranger. Those strangers are usually foreign tourists however and it's a pleasant experience to chat with a visitor from overseas. The food is good, but nothing special, go there for the experience though, it's worth it!

  • Pankaj T.

If you want your kicks ... On Route 66 this place is a fun place to stop by for Americans. The owners will keep you entertained by little gags they pull on you. 5 stars just for the fun factor.

Just go here for the decor and entertainment!! The food is pretty good too! This was the highlight of my road trip and a good laugh.

This place is fantastic. We enjoyed every minute of it. Visiting the town was like being in Radiator Springs, since of course this is where the story of Cars originated. The brother of the man who spoke to John Lasseter opened this joint many years ago. According to everyone he was a character. The staff is friendly and loves playing little jokes on the customers to lighten the mood. Look out for the mustard and choose your straw carefully. This is a neat place with good food and good ice cream. Next time we are in the area we will definitely be back!

Great stop on route 66! Good food and friendly service! Had a cheese burger and fries and they were fantastic, and the shakes were great.

This is a great stop on Route 66. My sister and I had a tasty lunch, delicious milkshakes and enjoyed the scenery and people watching. Definately worth the stop!

This place is fun. It has an eclectic atmosphere (indoor counter ordering and outdoor covered patio and garden seating) and a jokester sort of vibe to it. We had just eaten a late lunch a couple of hours before arriving here, so we just ordered shakes: a chocolate shake and an Oreo mocha shake (they'll let you mix up to two flavors, then they charge if you want to mix additional flavors). Both were made promptly and both were delicious. Tip: you can reach this place from 40, but if you're driving east on 40 I recommend taking the Historic Route 66 detour (less than 10 miles difference from the 40 route) from Kingman to Seligman, as it's a beautiful drive and stopping here for a shake is the perfect end to that drive before rejoining 40. Also take some time to drive/walk around Seligman and look at the vintage cars (some fixed up to look like the Cars movie characters) and eclectic local businesses.

  • Millie M.

What a nice stop on Route 66. The guy at the counter was hilarious and never missed a beat with his personality nor his recommendations. Burgers were delish and the chocolate peanut butter malt was spectacular.

Loved this place!! Definitely need to visit if you are close by. Cheese burger was great and so was the staff!

  • Chelsea B.

This place was a great stop on our way to Kingman from Winslow on the I-40! The shakes are huge & so good. Another customer walked by with a dipped cone and I wished I had enough room to try one of those, too! The staff is friendly & funny. Thanks, Delgadillo's!

    (4)
  • James J.

A really fun and interesting place. The Delgadillos made a huge contribution to Arizona highway culture. The restrooms are small and a bit funky, but otherwise this is a must-stop off Interstate 40. The drive down Seligman's Route 66 is part of the experience, too.

  • jen r.

Loved my drive on Route 66. We really wanted ice cream and were willing to settle for McDonald's or Wendy's when a quick yelp search gave us delgadillos! So glad we stopped in. Cheesy jokes but such friendly nice service. The hot fudge shake was soooo good!

  • Jessica J.

Great place on Route 66! Friendly staff & amazing Caramel & Chocolate Malts and they were HUGE!! We are big fans and hope to be nearby another time in the future so we can stop and grab a Malt!

  • Sam S.

Delgadillo's Snow Cap Drive-In is a classic Route 66 hamburger joint with burgers and fries, milkshakes and other classic foods. Service is fast. I can't talk about other people's experience but our food was served up fresh, hot, and quickly. The burgers and fries were yummy and the prices were cheap. I love the decorations inside and around the drive-in including the Pixar Car's look-a-likes around back. Get off the interstate and take a trip down Route 66 through Seligman, you'll enjoy it. I promise.

  • William B.

I came here as a kid when Juan worked the counter. It's nice to see the family and such keeping his spirit alive and pulling pranks at the counter (ask for mustard!). Everything is as I remember, though Juan is long gone. I had a burger and a real chocolate malt for about $10. You order up and they hand it to you at the counter outside. Not fancy and it's outdoor eating or you take it and eat in the car. Was it an outstanding burger? No.. but it's good, and this is Americana at its finest. The food is worth eating and the malt was so good I couldn't stop and was licking the chocolate syrup off the cup. Funky and fun decorations and a quirky little town make Seligman and Delgadillo's an essential Route 66 experience. I hope they continue serving up food here for generations to come.

  • Sarah R.

Maybe it was just how starving we were after traveling from Vegas (I don't think that's it!), but these burgers were delicious! Such a fun atmosphere. Although I probably won't find myself in that area again anytime soon, I would definitely go again.

  • Cornelis T.

This was fun! Yep, the jokes are a bit lame but when in the right mood this is the place to be! My wife didn't know about the theme before going in so she was getting pranked all the time, fun stuff! One of those places allong route 66 you just have to go to!

  • Carol W.

What a fun place! I'd never been on old Rte 66, so my friends really had fun showing me this place. After getting a root beer float, joking with the staff and talking Dodgers Baseball, we wandered around outside for at least 45 minutes. There's a lot to take in! We went back twice, had to get some ice cream! I never met the"Old Man", but if his son is any indication I really wish I had! Great place. Definitely stop in if you're close.

  • Harry E.

We decided to stop here because it supposedly is an iconic place to eat along the Mother Road, Route 66. We had an ice cream cone and a shake here. The ice cream was already melting before we started eating it. The shake was sloppily prepared and the outside part of the cup was all sticky before I even started drinking it. All in all, a very unappealing and unappetizing way to serve ice cream products on an otherwise nice summer day. Maybe the place is iconic; but its ice cream products are definitely not. Next time (and I shall return), I'm having my chocolate shake at another establishment in Seligman.

  • Steve V.

Came here on the way to the Grand Canyon and we were hungry. I think that is why the food was fairly decent. Otherwise, this place is more for the experience. The staff is super friendly and their practical jokes are great. It is right off of the 40 and make sure you walk around the property, taking in all of the old Route 66 stuff they have. The shakes are excellent and if I were to return, I think I would do dessert only. Definitely a tourist thing!

  • Terry T.

The lure of RT. 66 was really evident at this historic eatery. Two tour buses, one with Japanese tourists, and the other with European tourists were exploring the drive-in that was built in 1953 with scrap wood from the nearby Santa Fe rail yard. They were having their photos taken in front of the authentic stuff and in front of the kitschy stuff. No one can convince me Elvis, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe have any connection to the Mother Road and like many stops along the way, they were on display here. If any of the tourists had walked a block or so they could have seen a fine example of an authentic period motel and if they were lucky they could have seen the roadrunner, a real symbol of the area, that ran beside me and crossed the street to go to the motel. Sadly, the Snow drop drive-in was closed either for the season or for the day. The store that was open did seem to do a booming business. There was so much to see that I didn't mind I could not taste any of the treats on the drive-in menu. I do confess that I would have enjoyed, looking at, and hearing, the Wurlitzer jukebox from the 1950's. It was restored to full working order by American Restoration" and is featured on that show on the History Network in January 2012

Burgers and fries are good, but forgettable. The service, you'll never forget.

This isn't so much a restaurant review as it is the top thing to do in Seligman. Angel Delgadillo is rightfully given credit for helping to preserve the nostalgia and charm and character of old Route 66 in northern Arizona. And Delgadillo's SnowCap drive in is one of the most fun and kitschy places to take it in. It's a throw back to the old days of drive in food and ice cream treats. And it comes along with a side show from the proprietor and a huge yard full of antiques, memorabilia and surprises. If you want to experience a bit of Route 66 while visiting northern AZ, just jump off I-40 at Seligman and cruise through town with a mandatory stop at Delgadillo's SnowCap This aint the place for fine dining but you can't go far wrong with a burger and fries or perhaps just an ice cream just for the feel of the place.

  • Peg P.

We drove up to Seligman from Ash Fork so we could drive this last original part of The Mother Road. This is a fun town and the Snow Cap was a must stop for us. Tons of Route 66 signs and artifacts and an outhouse that screams for its photo to be taken with a friend stepping out of it. We didn't order any food other than ice cream (which was good) and pop but the ladies who served us were having a FUN day and yes, I got squirted with mustard. I asked if I could take their photo and Katie, Andrea, and Cecilia laughed and said, "Certainly." (Photo included in my review) If you're on Route 66, have some fun and stop here for a treat and sit in one of the lawn chairs and watch the cars zip by It's a real trip.

  • Marc W.

Yes I like it as I was there before. But this time we were there at 9am and no sign says that they open somewhere around 10am. In general this would be a reason to give them a star less, but I might just not have seen the sign as it has plenty of signs. I might be back in two weeks anyways.

  • Stefan A.

Are you trying to get your kicks on Route 66? Stop by and visit the clowns here and they will give you some (perhaps literal kicks - they kinda have some issues with boundaries). The burger is pretty good, the shakes are great, and the clowns behind the grill are, yes, hilarious. Perhaps someone in your party will get your change. This place is good in it's own right. It also just happens to be the reason you pull of the main road. Do it.

  • Tim F.

What a great find, so happy we decided to go the extra couple of miles off the freeway to see this area. Definitely worth the side trip. Food was really good, I had a hot dog, although simple enough not all dogs come out well. This one was just as I liked it. Fun area with lots of things to look at, classic cars on the lot, friendly people. Definitely would stop here again. Kids had malts with their hamburgers, which they enjoyed a lot as well.

  • Nicole T.

Great atmosphere. The staff behind the counter was friendly and a hoot. I only had the soft serve ice cream, but it was unique in that it was the coldest and hardest soft serve I've ever had. Quite interesting. Be sure to check out the yard, even if you are just driving by.

On the road again, this time to Vegas, hunger strikes us on the barren stretches of Interstate 40 and we swing into Seligman to find some lunch. What we found was not just a meal but a "dinning experience"! This place is a lot of fun. The crazy stuff behind the building and the wilds signs, old cars and character make it worth the stop. The variety of currency on the walls tells a story of thousands of visitors over the years. The guys behind the counter are the icing on the cake, and if you didn't have a smile on your face when you got there you will when you leave. (Tip: make sure you ask for napkins! ROTFLMAO) The food was pretty typical, small-scale fast-food, and I can't complain; I found it was what I expected, and I enjoyed every bite. The long miles on the highway can be a bummer, but this place is a bright spot for your travels!

How lucky was I to accidentally find this place? Was on a road trip last month with my picky GF an daughter. The guy behind the counter was a riot! A bus load of tourists got there right after we did. You should have seen the face of the European woman when the dude behind the counter pulls out a tube of mustard and squirted it right at her while I was ordering. She freaked! Luckily for her there was only a long yellow string that came out of the bottle. Damn if I had that many annoying tourists at my shop all day I wonder if would use the real thing. I was cracking up! They were out of the chorizo on the day we stopped by so no chorizo burger for me. I had the chili burger instead. My kid had the veggie burger and my GF had a standard burger. Everything was good. No five stars here, but that's not why you go here. Cheap and quick considering the quantity of people here. What fun!

The short version: Atmosphere and quirkiness and Route 66-ness= 5 stars! Food=2 stars Service=4 stars The long version: This is not sit down service. You stand in a hall and order food, then sit outside and wait for YIUR name to be called. No inside seating. The grounds are awesome- hilarious practical jokes and Route 66 signs are all over the place. Lots to photograph! We happened to arrive right as a tour bus was leaving. We waited in line for 15 minutes and were told a 20 minute wait for 3 burgers and 1 hot dog. It ended up to be 64 minutes- yes, we timed it. My kids, who eat everything, didn't even like their burgers. Best option is to DEFINITELY stop, take pix, and support the Delgadillos by purchasing ice cream (make sure you ask for the half off special) and move along the Mother Road. Mediocre food and oodles of charm at a roadside tourist trap on historic route 66 in the quirky town of Seligman, AZ. This place goes more for laughs than quality. Signs proclaim offerings of "Dead Chicken" and the cashier guffaws at gags like a ketchup squeeze bottle with a retractable stream of red string. Postcards from all over the country line the interior and antique cars and other collectibles make the backyard an amusing museum of junk. The burgers and ice cream are nothing special but the Snow Cap is a fun route 66 stop.

My husband and I were traveling the old Route 66 and decided we HAD to stop here for lunch. This place is a staple for travelers going through according to all the Route 66 books. Boy were those books wrong! Granted, we stopped on Memorial Day. The place had about 3 people waiting for their food when we ordered but picked up a little after we ordered. They pulled the old squirting the mustard bottle gag on us at the register and if you asked for a straw they would dump them in front of you. I ordered a chili dog, fries and a chocolate shake. They told us it would be a 30 minute wait but I thought maybe they were kidding since you can't believe anything they say anyway the way they kid around with you. There were three people working the place so my husband and I walked around to take photos and laugh at the signs they had posted. After 30 minutes came and went, we started to get annoyed. How long does it take to make a hot dog?! The shake is from a machine! I was starving when we FINALLY got our food (which took over 45 minutes, not 30) and when I opened the wrapper to my chili dog, I about flipped! "They forgot the chili!" I told my husband. He looked at it and pulled back the bun to see what was inside. I kid you not: it looked like they dipped a paint brush in chili and painted the bun! There was not one bean or piece of hamburger on there! I'm sorry, that is NOT a chili dog! I ate the overpriced mediocre food and left in a huff and in the process ended up dropping my shake on the ground which splattered the poor guy at the next table. I got back in the car and tried to wipe the spilled shake off my jeans and get the bad taste out of my mouth this place left so as to not ruin the rest of our trip. Bottom line: Bad food, bad service, overpriced and gimmicky. Not worth it!

Great little burger shop! Has a great vibe and the staff behind the counter were jolly and sweet with our kids. Onion rings And burgers are delicious, and the chocolate malt was a solid 4 (out of 5). We will definitely be back on future road trips!

I'm so glad we stopped here, it was recommended by a few people and it lived up to its expectations! The staff was really fun, the decorations were super cool and my strawberry milkshake had real strawberries in it! You should stop here, it only takes a minute or so to check it out!

  • Alison S.

I agree with John D about the charm and mediocre food. You must stop here. I went per the recommendation of one of my best friends, and I was not disappointed. My visit was in September of 2008.

  • Azzi E.

This is not a place where you stop for the food. This is a place where you stop for the atmosphere of the route 66 and times that are long gone. Food - expect cheap, fried and heavy meals. However, nice and entertaining folks. Definitely worth a stop.

Back in Summer 2006 my family and I took a six week road trip around the United States, and this was my favorite restaurant. Funny crew working there (when my mom approached the guy at the counter, he squeezed a mustard bottle at her and yellow string shot out), some good food, and a nice little slice of Route 66.

Q & A on Jason's Deli
