The bf and I spent 3 days here earlier this week. It was absolutely the getaway we needed!! The cabins are simple, cozy, and charming. The grounds are adorable and well kept. We saw a number of wild animals, from birds and grasshoppers to chipmunks and even deer. The service is awesome-Frank made us a fabulous Vegan Breakfast Basket each morning. The cafe is also really good for meals, of which they custom made me veggie sandwich on baguette, and other vegan items. All delicious! The private area of the creek is also a nice touch, we spent half a day on a rock by the creek and didn't see anyone else, it was our own secluded spot! Fantastic place, so much charm and love!

TBGI provided our family a phenomenal, unforgettable family reunion on beautiful grounds with "the most freaking adorable cabins on earth" (quote from my sister) Amazingly clean cabins, delicious breakfast delivered every morning in picnic baskets with little notes or messages written in the chalkboard top, comfy bed, fresh air, gorgeous property. Really can't beat the overall experience and vibes of this place. You can really disconnect from the rest of the world and get back to your roots. It feels great to unplug from the modern world of cell phones(verizon was the only carrier to have service here), TV, and (mostly) wifi - it's offered, but spotty at best. My main downfall and disappoint, though, was we had rented out 80% of the cabins along with the main dining hall, but we were labeled as inconsiderate guests because we would be in the common area, conversing over a few brews with family I hadn't seen in 20 years. Mind you, we were VERY respectful of the grounds, picking up our waste every evening, stacking chairs neatly, and minding our volume after a certain time. Yes, there would be times of hard laughs looking back on memories and sharing events that had happened while we were all apart. We had large group meals outside to enjoy the beautiful weather, and even invited all the other guests enjoying their stay to participate in our family meal. I WOULD recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway. But for reunions and large group settings, I'm afraid I'd say go elsewhere. #fyf #ff2015

I'm hesitant to write a five star review because I want to be able to get a cabin in the future, but these guys deserve it and anyone who wants a great experience on a trip to Sedona deserves to know about this place. Nice cabins, thoughtful breakfast delivery to your door, and a friendly can do staff make this place tough to beat. Gives you the feeling of what it's like to own a cabin in the woods without the mortgage or all the work to maintain it. Plan on unplugging...virtually no cell service and mediocre wifi that doesn't reach all the cabins. I generally have to work a little on vacation so I found this to be extremely frustrating. Not the fault of the resort...more me not wanting to leave my cool cabin or Adirondack chair outside my cabin to go to the lounge and get better wifi. Great place, highly recommend.

I absolutely adore this place by far the best little Inn I've ever had the pleasure of staying. The owners Frank and Nichole are such beautiful people they really care about their guest. They go above and beyond expectations. The fresh homemade breakfast delivered to your cabin in a picnic basket is the perfect little touch! I loved being able to go to the private area of the creek it is so gorgeous. My husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary and let me tell you Frank and Nichole made sure it was special for us. I thought at first that this little cabin was pricey but no its totally worth every cent. I can't wait to visit them again.

I have not stayed at the inn (yet) but my boyfriend and I were driving by this location on the way back to our campsite and stopped at the market. The market is adorable and has items for snacking, fishing, camping, and more. The owner (I met the husband) was very engaging, friendly and funny and the prices were great. I also looked on their website and saw that they have pet friendly cabins! The area is wonderful - far enough outside of Sedona that you escape the crowds but close enough to drive 10 minutes and be downtown. It is also close to one of our favorite hikes in the area (West Fork). We will definitely be returning to the market and possibly to stay a night or two in the winter to take the dog up to play in the snow. The only negative is that the cabins seemed a little overpriced but to be fair I havent seen the inside of any of them so they may be worth it. The website also said they provide breakfast which is nice! If I do end up staying there I will revise this rating with that info as well.

We had a wonderful four night stay at the Butterfly Garden Inn this spring. The location is beautiful and our hosts were excellent. Frank had great suggestions for hikes and eateries. We particularly liked being so close to many excellent hiking trails and away from the touristy madness that is Sedona. We stayed in one of the small historic cabins, Mary's Giant Skipper, which was charming. However, if we return we will be sure to book earlier so we can get a cabin with a full kitchen. Frank was very considerate and set us up with a grill, so we didn't have to eat out every night. The breakfast provided every morning was tasty and substantial. We were very pleased to find that while the cabins are in relatively close proximity to one another, our space felt very private. The trees were full of caterpillars on their way to becoming butterflies and it must be magical to be here when they are flitting about. Highly recommend this lovely spot!

There is a reason that they have so many 5 star reviews, this is an amazing location! Close to everything, although in truth, we didn't leave the property except to go to the creek across the street. We held a reunion there for 35 of us ranging from 5 months to 60's. The cabins are very private feeling, comfortable, and offer a lot of amenities. We loved that we each had a gas grill and picnic table outside our cabins. The playground offered hours and hours of play time for the little ones. The owners are so gracious and the FOOD WAS AMAZING! The cafe/restaurant has the best pulled pork sandwich my brother said he'd ever eaten and if you're cooking on your own and forget something, their little shop has food, wine, ice cream, fishing supplies, and a ton more. We will never forget our time there and we've already booked for our next reunion.

If you're looking for quiet, quaint cabins in the Sedona area, then TBGI is the place for you. Nestled off the 89A in Oak Creek Canyon (just north of Sedona), it is owned by a lovely husband and wife team (Frank & Nicole) who put so much TLC into their business. For example, they hang breakfast baskets outside of each cabin by 7am every morning, with baked goods they made that morning, which MEANS that they get up at 3:30am every morning in order to make that happen!! What dedication!! You can tell they love their cabins and they'll do whatever it takes to accommodate your needs. Check out TBGI next time you want a quiet getaway in Sedona. You won't regret it!

We stayed in Shy Yellow (12) this past weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were looking for a place to "get away from it all" and the Butterfly Garden Inn is just that! We also needed a pet friendly place. This was our first time traveling with our 2 Scottie dogs so we were a little nervous but it worked out great! The cabin was 1 bedroom but had enough living room space for the dogs' crates. There was also a mini fridge in the cabin, which was nice as we brought along some snacks with us. The Inn delivers a daily breakfast in a picnic basket on the porch of your cabin and that was such a nice touch! The basekt comes at 7:00 AM daily and the breakfast was very good! Freshly baked goods, fruit and juice were included and dog treats in a mason jar too (Olive & Hazel loved that). :) The cabin was nestled in the woods and had a cute picnic table directly outside the cabin. There was some nice green space to walk the dogs as well. The stars at night were AMAZING through the pine trees! The Inn also had a nice market and lounge where you could buy beer, wine and they had a full service kitchen. My husband did take an opportunity to watch a little college football in the lounge while I was getting ready and that was a plus for him since there are no tv's in the cabins. We loved how close the cabin was to the West Fork trail (a must if you are a hiker). We would definitely recommend this place for a little getaway! Thanks for a great experience Butterfly Garden Inn!!

What a gem in the woods. Frank and his family are running a truly masterful kitchen to support their well appointed rooms. We dated in cabin #19 Mimic, which we think is the newest and nicest. Two adults, two kids, and two dogs.....we had a great time. The food is amazing...must try the Cuban-style Pork or the Fancy Schmanci sandwich and any of the pizzas. We will be back for the great service-with-a-smile, amazing food, and great accommodations. Can't forget the Picnic Basket breakfasts waiting for you each morning....you just have to stay to understand!!!!

We a made a mistake, when in Sedona we should have stayed here. The boutique cabins are 1st class. We had coffee and chorizo breakfast burrito. Best food we had in the three days we were in Sedona.

Went there for lunch with family, very picky eaters & everyone enjoyed their food & the cool spot under the trees & very friendly service. I want to go back for the B & B. I spoke to several guests & dang everyone of them loved the place.

Once again I have been impressed by the staff / owners of this amazing Inn. I was having vehicle troubles and asked if I could use their hose to spray out my grill (caked with mud). Without blinking an eye they let me clean my radiator off making a mess of their drive way. When I offered to pay and help clean up my mess they politely refused and wished me well on my trip home. It's rare these days to find business's that go the extra mile for their customers and truly care about your business. They are worth the stop!

Tucked in a lush, wild nook, a breakfast basket arrives at your cabin doorstep. Early morning coffee and fresh-baked goods. Such a unique and special place. Two miles from Slide Rock, a perfect place to stay with the kids. Slide Rock is amazing. (Bring a inner tube and a wetsuit!)

The Butterfly Garden Inn was quiet, relaxing, and great! It's located just north of Sedona in Oak Creek and is in very close vicinity to a lot hiking of trails. It was about 1 mile from West Fork trail which is very popular making parking a problem, but we were able to walk from here. The cabin we stayed in was dog friendly with a $50 deposit. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There were plenty of places to hang out and enjoy the shade. Each cabin had Adirondacks to sit in so you could enjoy the surroundings. They really went above and beyond with the complimentary breakfast basket. We were asked about dietary issues beforehand with mine being lactose free. They had included several baked goods, yogurt, granola, juice and a vegan muffin and soy milk for me. Everything in the basket was delicious and abundant. They even included dogs treats! I would not hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it.

I just finished eating a delicious cinnamon roll that came in the breakfast basket that was delivered to our cabin this morning. It was baked by Frank, the owner of the Butterfly Garden Inn. We were there on our honeymoon, and stayed four days. I plan to stay again when visiting Sedona. The inn is about 10-15 minutes outside of town. It is located in Oak creek canyon. The cabins are shaded by trees and the canyon walls. I felt like I for to go on two vacations: one to the red rocks (and 100 degree heat) of Sedona, and a second to the cool forest surrounding the cabins. There is private access to Oak Creek. I took a refreshing dip (brrr) this morning. We stayed in The Painted Lady. The cabins are comfortable and bug free. There is a gas stove, refrigerator, microwave, as well as a gas grill outside. There is a convenience store and cafe on the property. Its a family operation. The hospitality was great. I would recommend the Butterfly Garden inn to anyone planning a trip to Sedona.

Stayed at the cabins over the holiday weekend. The owners and staff really make the guest feel welcomed and at home. Everything was clean and tidy. The best part is the breakfast basket each morning. It's like Christmas morning - full of surprises. Well worth it ~

Unfortunately we weren't aware of this inn prior to booking a night in Sedona, but we happened to come across them when we were looking for lunch after leaving Slide Rock. They have a neat little convenience store, filled with displays of old photography gear. The staff were extremely friendly and had impeccable manners, and the patio for the restaurant offered a great view of the woods. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be coming here again!

I'm not sure how I'm just now writing a review for this place. I was sure I had done it long ago. My wife and I stayed at the Butterfly Garden Inn Feb 15-19, 2013 for a combination Valentine's Day/Birthday getaway. We could not have been happier. The owners of this property are extremely warm and friendly, and will go out of their way to make sure you're happy. The 19th is my wife's birthday, and they wrote a special birthday message on our breakfast basket that day and included an extra treat. The property is dog-friendly (I think only certain cabins), which is great as our dog loved being in the woods for a long weekend. Each morning's breakfast basket included some doggie treats as well. The property is beautiful. Cute little cabins up in the woods. We were there for snow which added an extra storybook element to our stay. The breakfasts are delicious, and if I recall correctly, some of the items are homemade. Anyway, sorry for the extremely tardy review. The wife and I are discussing our next trip to Butterfly Garden Inn now!

We stayed in the Shy Yellow cabin at Butterfly Garden Inn. This was an impromptu vacation stop due to the government shutdown changing our travel plans. What a nice find! We were so impressed with the detail of the grounds and the cabin decor. The breakfast was such a nice touch and added to the personal attention that your efforts made. The price might be a bit high for a small cabin, but the stay was wonderful. We will stay again when we come through Oak Creek/Sedona area. Wish I could post some pictures...

We had an absolutely delightful experience here. The cabins are basic but lovely. The hosts are tremendously friendly and helpful, and the area is perhaps one of the most beautiful places in United States. Breakfast was perfect. It consisted of fruit, bread, coffee, and juice as well as cereal and milk for the kids. It had just the right mix of carbs and fruit to give us the perfect start for the day of hiking that we had planned. We've stayed at hotels where the "Continental breakfast" left something to be desired, but this breakfast was ideal and it was a true joy to sit outside under the pine trees and munch quietly. The Wi-Fi was a little shaky as one gets away from the lobby, and cellular service is nonexistent. But these two foibles simply add to the perfect disconnected retreat that these cabins provide. The hosts provide a tremendous variety of boardgames which you are welcome to take back to your cabin and play. We selected one and plead with our children. The lack of Internet and cellular enabled us to do this amazing thing called "talking". It was a lot of fun. If you're looking for a perfect getaway that takes you away from all of the distractions of the everyday world and transports you into a beautiful Woodland Garden of Eden, this place is for you.

Stopped here, unexpectedly, on our way from Sedona to Flagstaff. Had a fresh, hot cookie (best cookie on earth) and a cappuccino (also excellent.) Very unique little store with very friendly service. Incredible location!

We stayed here for a few nights while visiting Sedona to be closer to some hiking sites and have some peace and quiet away from the busy touristy areas. Phenomenal experience. They have a lot of pretty themed cabins and bring breakfast to you in the morning. No TVs in the cabins but you can ask if you have some DVDs. TV viewing happens in a close family room attached to the main lobby and is open even after the lobby/general store closes at night. Great for kids with a little play area/plenty of room for them to run around. The owners were so kind and so welcoming we will definitely be back. The best thing is that you're still only about 10 minutes away from Sedona so everything is nearby. Warning: you won't get cell reception (at least from att) but the wifi is free and reached our cabin fine.

Great place in the mountains. Loved the breakfast in the morning. Also they have a store that serves coffee and the best chocolate macadamia nut cookies ever. The store has all that you would need for hiking or swimming. Like that it is outside of Sedona with the option to drive in. We'll be back again soon :)

(This review is for the CAFE of the Butterfly Garden Inn, as we did not stay in the cabins). What a wonderful afternoon ... After driving through Oak Creek Canyon to photograph the beautiful scenery, we came upon this sweet little cafe on the side of the road. We went in for a couple of bottles of water, and ended up staying for lunch. The FANCY SCHMANCY --- How could I have ordered anything else!?! :) MIne was tomato, mozz, olive oil and a little balsamic on a cibatta role. SO FRESH! And served with the best homemade chips I've ever had. Mr SS9 had the ALL American sandwich, which was pretty darned tasty! Both of these are $9 and each were enough to share. After a look around the store (and a local honey, more snacks, drinks, cookies and gum purchase), we sat outside in the garden area while waiting for our sandwiches to be delivered, and I can't think of a prettier place to sit. (every morning, I am brought back to this great place while I'm loving my Desert Wildflower honey in my tea.)

We had a memorable time here over the 4th of july weekend. Inn staff and owners were welcoming and some of the most friendly people we have ever met. We loved our little rustic cabin (#3) and the being able to open our windows and front door as the monsoons rolled through the oak creek canyon area. We discovered they made fresh food for order after our first day there...cheap, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Overall great little place off highway 89...I highly recommend stopping In and at least grabbing some food there. You won't be disappointed!

This place was awesome, we only stopped to eat but the food was excellent and the service was even better. The grassy area in the shade to eat was amazing with the creek sound in the near background. I definitely would like to stay here one day overnight.

This place deserves 10 stars. We just got back from a weekend in Sedona for a friend's wedding. This place is a mile from West Fork Trail, a beautiful hike, so it's very convenient. The inn is about 20 minutes from the town. We stayed in Shy Yellow #12 and brought our 14 lb Italian Greyhound. There is a mini fridge, a table, a chair, a couch, and a king size bed. The fireplace was the best part. We had a cold weekend and the fireplace was a nice touch. Easy to use and so romantic. There is a cafe on the premises which all of the food was good. I actually had 3 of the Southwest meals! LOL. The burger, the quesidilla, and the pulled pork sandwich. My boyfriend had the American burger and hard salami sandwich, which he loved! I can't say enough good things about this place. Frank greeted us when we checked in, even let us check in early, thank goodness, because we had a 1145am wine tour that we had to get to for the wedding party and needed a place to keep our dog. You can tell the really care about their guests and make everyone feel welcomed. There is a community lounge area that we hung out at indoors when it got too cold to hang out outside. We ventured into the woods behind our cabin, which I do not recommend bc we encountered some poison oak! :( But we were fine. The creek across the street from the lobby was awesome. So peaceful and easy to get to. You can park your car right next to the cabin! There is a little store to buy anything you might need. So convenient. The daily 7am breakfast baskets were a nice touch. They even had dog biscuits for my dog. So cute. Yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, croissants, apple juice, orange juice, coffee in the room, bread, etc. Every day was different. We didn't get wifi in the room, but wifi was working in the lounge next to the lobby. There were games and books in the lounge if you got bored. Definitely would recommend this place to others. Thanks a lot the Garrisons! You made our vacation so spectacular.

Amazing place to stay! My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and I could not have picked a better spot. Cabins are so cozy and so nice to have a kitchen in them. Super close to Sedona and has tons of great hiking trails around the inn. Can't wait to come back here! Best place around!

Bravo Frank and Nicole! Your resort is fabulous. We had an amazing stay this weekend and can't wait to return. You are treated like royalty and the food is AMAZING. Best burgers in AZ and anything that says "Schmancy" on the menu is a must try. This place is a treasure in Oak Creek Canyon. Breakfast is provided every morning. It includes freshly baked goods, yogurt, fruit and juices. The cabins are cozy and have everything you need. Best getaway near Sedona.

Unfortunately I didn't get to stay here however i did visit the market/cafe for breakfast one morning. I just got back from flag/sedona today after a weekend camping trip. Our campsite store didnt open until 8am so after a desperate attempt to find somewhere close for breakfast we ended up here. Im so happy we did! The employee who greeted us was incredibly helpful & very friendly especially considering it was 7:15am. He was patient while we looked at the menu and even offered some suggestions. Myself & my partner both got the 'all american breakfast burrito' & explored the shop while waiting on it being cooked. After it was cooked the employee allowed us to sit in the living area of the inn to eat & keep warm as it was super cold outside. We ended up returning the next day for more breakfast & lunch. The service here is astonishing & all the employees we encountered were incredibly pleasant! I visit Sedona atleast 4 times a year & i know where i will be returning every time for a breakfast burrito & lunch sandwich!! Well done to the great staff here keep up the good work :).

Quaint little place in the mountains of Sedona that my friend an I stopped off at. We were able to order hot apple cider and get some information about out destination. I would definately make this a must visit.
