In the middle of this little town called Safford, we stopped to have an early dinner at Casa Manana. So glad we did. At 2:30 in the afternoon, the place was packed. Parking lot only had a few spaces left. Always a good sign to us. Was a little bit confused by the Luau motif (when walking into a Mexican restaurant.) I informed the young man that immediately brought us a nice size basket of corn & flour chips that I can't have gluten. He came right back with a basket of corn chips and another bowl for my own salsa. Waitress was extremely nice, and genuine, showed me the restricted diet portion of the menu. I ordered the pork tamales (homemade!) And hubby ordered the #2 (beef taco & 2 beef enchiladas) both of us barely spoke as we tasted our plates. Hubby judges new restaurants (mexican anyhow) on the enchiladas. He described it as "awesome". Salsa was pretty good. Got our food super fast, and the place was busy...Really impressed that they showed how much they care about their customers. Waitress had a very large party in the room with us, and forgot about our iced teas for a little while. She sent them to our table, informed us they were on the house, and then even brought us refills in to go cups. My tamales were great, fresh and homemade. Keep up the good work Casa!

Delicious!! We drive through Safford several times a year and had never been until tonight. The Machaca was the best I've ever had. Salsa and chips were very tasty and the retried beans were creamy and perfect. Excellent service and very clean. We will be back!

Beautiful building, good food and lots of it. Prices were fair and staff was friendly, they were a little slow to respond with service but were very nice. Parking was not ideal, but you can get past that. Overall a good experience...I would go here again.

We were greeted and sat right away. Waitress was very attentive and service was fast. Beef Fajitas were delicious, meat was tender and flavorful! Chicken chile relleno was a really nice size and taste was great. Caramel fried ice cream is to die for! The only reason I am not giving this a five star is due to the amount of debris under the table, there were chips, napkins and forks down there. Everything else was great.

We had the green chili chimichanga, a taco, and an enchilada. The taste and texture were delightful! And, as always, the service was stellar.

Restaurant was clean and servers were very attentive. Ordered the stuffed chili relleno and it was delish! Wife had pork burrito and it was good as well! Chips are a mix or flour and corn chips so a nice change from other Mexican food restaurants. Will be back again!

This is where the locals go! If you're headed through Safford and like Mexican, this is a good bet. We drove by right at Noon and the parking lot was packed, so we continued our tour around and came back at about 1:30, and although it was still busy, we found a table right away. Good service and good food.

I haven't had a bad plate of food here at all. They get pretty busy and service lacks but they usually pull it together.

I was visiting from out of town. This is a small town so I was just looking for a nice place to sit and eat some good food with my kids. We were greeted right away and friendly. At first, we were sat in a high traffic area. I didn't say anything but she must have picked up on my body language or facial expression because she said..."Let me move you somewhere more comfortable" We sat next to a fireplace. It was nice spot! From the chips and salsa to the food....it was amazing!! The service was fast, friendly and helpful. I loved this place! If I lived in town I would be there all the time!

I had the fish taco luncheon special - so good I thought that I had died and went to New Mexico. Their home-made salsa is also excellent. Definitely the best Mexican food that I have found in the Safford area

We had dinner here on 12/26/13 with family visiting us from Washington. We received a friendly greeting and were seated promptly. Our server was excellent & very sweet. Our margaritas were delicious. All our meals were soooo good. I didn't give it 5 stars because the parking sucks & two large parties (10+ people) were seated next to us & both had loud children. The best restaurant in this area in my opinion.

The Casa Manana was reasonably priced and food was OK but was very disappointed in the salsa as it seemed like canned and bland. The decor was nice and the staff friendly and we used a Yelp coupon for desert which was some nice sopapillas. I would go back but could be better.

After reading some of the reviews on here, my husband and I were looking forward to eating here. But it was a big disappointment. The food was horrible! We ordered a Cheese/Green Chilli Crisp. It was burnt, an covered in grease. The salsa seemed to be canned, defiantly not fresh. The chips were nasty, chewy and tasted old. The only positive was the staff, they were extremely nice, and very polite. Sadly, we won't be going back, it's a nice and cute place but the food was not Authentic Mexican Food like their sign said.

This place just expanded and has a lot more room now, and their service is pretty good. I also liked the fact that they serve both Coke and Pepsi products, but the food is terrible.

Pretty tasty Mexican food. I think it's the best I've had in the Gila Valley. Definitely worth a try.

Certainly a friendly and clean restaurant. We had good service although it was slow due to crowded conditions. I was in a party of six and others might have ranked the food higher than 3 stars but there was NOTHING special about my combination meal and I certainly have had better, although not locally. I've not visited other Mexican restaurants in this area.

This is a top 2 or 3 mexican food joints in the Gila valley. You have to try there shredded beef tacos on flour or if you go in the summer try every thing on the summer luau menu because it all rocks!

In town on business for a few days, we stopped in for dinner. I never know what to expect when it comes to Mexican restaurants, fortunately there is a good almost fail proof test by which to judge your menu decision....the chips and salsa. If the chips are quality and the salsa authentic and homemade, you can be confident all will be ok. One of my other dinner companions also believes this so we each grabbed a chip and dug in. The salsa here was just the right amount of flavor and heat. After a long day we were looking forward to a margarita only to find out that they did not serve liquor. *Darn* So we both ordered Horchata. When the waitress came back she only had one glass of Horchata and said they ran out and did not have the key to get into the back room to get more. My dinner companion kindly said I could have the Horchata (what a gentleman). I ordered a 3 item combo with a taco, tamale and cheese enchilada. The red sauce was better than expected (honestly I was not expecting a lot even with good salsa)...although not nearly as good as mine or mom's and grandmas'. The tamale was just ok, tasted not so homemade. The taco was my favorite, simple flavorful shredded beef fried crispy crunchy in a corn tortilla with cheese, garnished with lettuce and cheese and I topped with the salsa. Yum. Yeah just a taco, I know, but a good taco at a Mexican place is like a good burger at an American place, says a lot. There are definitely several Mexican places to choose from in Safford, this is one I would keep on my list for my next visit.

I love this place. I have eaten here since I was a little child and I can tell you this is great Mexican food. Good prices good atmosphere. I recommend their green chili meat and fried ice cream for dessert.

Another Mexican food keeper in Safford. Tacos are the best. Friendly and fast service. They are expanding and that will be good for them. If you go in enough they will know what you want and give you free stuff. Good atmosphere and amazing food. I love the way the enchalda sauce tastes. A must if you are traveling through.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
