Amazing taste, amazing ambience! What more could one ask for! Absolutely delicious 3 egg omelette with the toppings and extremely friendly staff. Wish there was something like this near my house I could go to every day! Oh, and the walls are decked with historical photos that add to the uniqueness of the place!
Came on a Sunday around 10am, waiting line was pretty long but worth the wait. Ordered the bacon cheeseburger and it was huge n tasty. You have to check out the waitress who amazingly sets and serves 4 entree plates along side her L arm!!!
Iama Critic Rating - Santa Rita Grill - 3 Stars 1123 Pendleton Road, Rio Rico, AZ Overall: The pictures I took of the menu simply state Rio Rico Resort and Country Club. But I believe the restaurant, at the Rio Rico Country Club & Golf Course is called Santa Rita Grill. I get this from the Rio Rico Resort's own website that says: The Santa Rita Grill restaurant is a local golfers favorite for a laid-back breakfast or lunch with incredible views of the golf course and the San Cayetano mountains. Choose our Santa Rita Grill restaurant for a great place to catch a quick sandwich between golf holes without having to take your spikes off! So without me taking my spikes off I ordered the following: $??.?? - Taco Salad - 4 Stars This taco salad is not on the only online menu I could find, so the price is unknown. This taco salad was extremely pretty with a very good mix of condiments and meat. The shell itself was much darker than normal, which is not a bad thing, as it was still a delight to eat. $??.?? - Chicken Penne - 3 Stars This Chicken Penne Alfredo dish is not on the only online menu I could find, so the price is unknown. It was rather boring and flavor flat, and what is the deal with the broccoli? $8.00 - Esplendor Cheese Burger - 3 Stars The burger, and especially the kaiser bun was very nice. However, when I prepared my pictures for my pictorial review on my blog, I discover that my burger had onion rings, not the bacon it was supposed to have. The fries it came with were average. Final Thoughts: Finding any information whatsoever concerning Santa Rita Grill is almost impossible. No matter what you search for it all leads back to the Rio Rico Resort. I understand that they want to promote the resort, but the resort offers three restaurants and the Santa Rita Grill doesn't even warrant more than a single paragraph, and no online menu. Even the restaurant's Facebook page has no information on it. It took over an hour and a half to find an online menu. This make the life of a restaurant critic very difficult, especially when they did not provide an itemized receipt that showed the price of each entree I ordered. R&R Rating - 1 Star - For making Chef Iama Critic work his butt off for this review!
I stay here for weeks at a time for TV shoots. It's the only decent place to stay near Nogales. My biggest complaint is that the internet never works. Not good for business stays.
This resort is great. It's amazing how few people are taking advantage of this. Great golf, gorgeous mountain views, hiking trails, tennis, pool, spa, fitness, fine dining, a lounge, and more. I can't believe the rate and value for such a fantastic resort. The dining room views and fireplace were great to see, but the food was even more of surprise. Such a deal, such a secret. If you are looking for a great value, but want to be treated as royalty, visit this resort. We love it.
Stayed here two nights and was not happy. The hotel itself is very old and looks like it too. Our beds had old pillows and a thin comforter that the housekeeping took with them and only left the sheets the second day while cleaning the rooms?? The restaurant is VERY slow. We were one of three tables that came in for breakfast after us and we didn't get our food until after asking where our food was it was cold and we had to track down the server to get our bill. NOT HAPPYfor having to pay for stuff we didn't even eat ordered a danish and It was stale and the oldest danish I have ever tasted- this is NOT "resort food." I would only stay here if you absolutely have to and yes it is better than Nogales, but next time we would rather drive north 30 minutes to Green valley. Not worth the money. The staff is nice, but clueless- when we asked for a pool view and a room in the Quail building (closest to the pool) when we went to our room we found out that we were not only NOT in the building we wanted, but in a room closest to a water drain that ran all night getting NO sleep due to the rain that night.
I adore eating chinese food. I moved to Rio Rico wnd work in Nogales so I am trying all the chinese food options. This restaurant is geographically closest to home but I will not eat here. Who puts shredded iceberg lettuce in egg drop soup? The buffet is small and very limited and apparently being in the southwest means mexican american chinese because the hot peppers and the broccoli were just too much.
This place is not good at all. Again, just bring Panda home from work. Or just drive to Nogales, and get Panda.
