Great food in an inconspicuous place. It was my 1st time and it definitely won't be my last. Every time I drive through Blythe/Quartzite I won't stop in Blythe and eat anymore. Silly Al's gets 2 thumbs up!!

Wow, definitely one of the best pizzas I have ever had. The Mediterranean pizza is amazing. The Hawaiian is increadible and the combination is out of this world. A must if you are staying in Quartsite and if it lunch or dinner time get off the freeway and enjoys some great food.

Awesome place to eat and have cocktails.. Gets REALLY busy in the Winter time but other than that it's a great place to eat.. Best pizza within 100 miles of us!!!! Outstanding pizza!!!

Every time we are close to Quartzsite, AZ, we stop at Silly Al's for a sandwich, pizza, salad or Calzones. Today we had a pastrami sandwich and a calzone. They were both very tasty. My calzone had lots of cheese just the way I like it. I have never had a sandwich I didn't like there. Also, their salads are always fresh. This is the only place in Quartzsite that has good food and their service will not disappoint.

I've never been is this restaurant from October thru April when it wasn't packed. Everybody likes their pizza their way and I'm pretty sure there is a pizza there for you! Just try it!

This is a GREAT restaurant! It's nice being in the middle of nowhere and having a pizza restaurant near you. Best pizza for 100 miles!

I was glad to find this place while driving through (I was starving) but was disappointed. I had the italian hoagie (or whatever it was called). Very messy, seemed to be missing something .

Great food great service! Angie was our waitress and she was as friendly as they come. It was Karaoke night and despite the reviews stating this was a negative thing, it was a highlight! Everyone that sang had a great time, the people were all friendly and if I lived closer I would 100% frequent this place. We got the Bruschetta pizza and some tacos for taco night, everything was delicious.

We stopped in for dinner and this place was great! You could smell the pizza dough right away. We had fresh salads, garlic cheese bread and the meat lovers pizza. Everything was fresh and the cheese was real cheese not imitation. We will definitely stop there again if we are ever out this way.

Silly Al's is always a must stop for us when in Quartzsite. The pizza is the best ever. Service has always been good. Just like stated before sometimes it gets pretty loud in there but that's about the only downside. Again, we love their pizza.

Stopped for early dinner on our way home from Phoenix to California. Their pizza was incredible, the best I've tasted anywhere! Homemade dough. Nachos were good too but would have preferred a better chip than what looked to be round Tostito's. Generous portions. Will make sure this is my stop passing thru again.

Great Pizza and salad. Very fresh! Service is great too. Obviously a local favorite. We have ordered the Mediterranean pizza twice and super yummy! When traveling on the 10, plan lunch at this gem!

I'm giving "Silly Al's" five stars. From the second I walked in I felt comfortable. I was greeted with smiles and served right away. As an appetizer I ordered the "Potato Skins" which were not what I expected at all. In most other places the Potato Skins are just that. Potato halves that have been hollowed out with just a little cheese and bacon added. These potato halves were not hollowed out and came with lots of cheese and bacon bits on them. Yummy! Then I ordered "Al's Combo", the small which is 10 inches but when it arrived it was more like 12 inches. The pizza was GREAT! Very fresh tasting with just the right amount of everything and a crust done just right. As for the place itself it's a very nice comfortable "right at home" kind of place that can accommodate everyone. There is the lounge area with dance floor, pool tables, televisions and such but if that's not your thing then they also have a dinning area for a more relaxed family like atmosphere. I guess what I'm trying to say is "Silly Al's" is a really nice place and as an "Over the Road" trucker I like places where I can go and relax and enjoy good food and good people. Stop by the next time you're passing through Quartzsite, AZ. I think you'll like it too!

Silly Al's pizza was a great choice for food. We ordered the bruschetta... It was nice and garlicky. The kids had a fun time playing toons on the juke box and the waitress was very quick and nice. Great Place!

Is it loud? Usually. Don't come here if you want a quiet intimate meal. It's a pizza place and the pizza is the best I have ever had. Today is the first time we have come and there wasn't a line to get in.

  • Brad R.

out on the lonely desert road and you come to the mobile home/ mobile yard sale haven that is Quartzsite. then in the deep center is an institution called Silly Al's. You have been saved and sent to pizza heaven. worth the stop off the freeway -- seriously do you want to see one more creosote bush or eat huge, cheesy pizza?

  • Melissa L.

    Cheap beer.

  • Daren C.

I wish we had one in Phoenix. The place itself was a totally chill resturant and bar. We had pizza on our way to California for New Year's. It was very good. not too thin not too thick. Nice amount oc sheese and sauce. I would go back!

The very best pizza I've had ever. Amazing salads. Love the Al's Salad. Great sandwiches. Pastrami is the best. So much flavor. Friendly environment. Highly recommend it!

Not sure why people are crying about the karaoke? I figure if there is karaoke how can you slam a place for having entertainment. If you don't like it eat somewhere else no need for negativity. Anyway dropped by after seeing 55 reviews in yelp with a 4 star rating. Was pleasantly suprised my buddy and I are a pizza and some meatballs. Staff was friendly price was very reasonable and had a good meal.

I went to Silly Als as part of a birthday party. I was the fourth of 30 people to arrive. After 4 more people arrived, the waitress started taking orders. I wasthird to order. She was taking orders to thekitchen, so pizzas started coming out before everyone arrived. After about 10 pizzas came out, I asked herto check on mine.when she took orders from the last people to arrive, half an hour after I ordered, I asked her again what was happening. When she brought the last peoples pizzas out, she said they were putting mine in the oven! The guy next to me said " you're not going to charge him full price are you?" She said if he eats it I am! I'd been there an hour and a quarter, and decided I wasn't going to eat it. You pay 5 star prices, evenif the food and service is 1 star! Oh yes; unless youlikr REALLY LOUD places, don't go there

We stopped in for a late lunch and were surprised to see the parking lot full but no worries it's a large place and sat right down. Our waitress was a little slow getting to us but we saw she was the only one in our section and it got much better after she was able to catch up. We ordered a couple of beers and a medium pizza and small salads, the beer came out ice cold and the salads were very good with excellent blu cheese dressing. The pizza came out and it was also very good it had plenty of cheese and toppings. A good honest pizza not fancy just good.

We stopped at Quartzite passing through, and this place was recommended by a local. We got our drinks, and ordered our sandwiches. From there we were ignored. An hour later after seeing everyone else receive their orders, we flag down the waitress and ask about our sandwiches. She could not remember our order and then said the kitchen lost it. We left. It was an hour we'll never get back. Businesses like this cannot afford to only serve locals. If you're only passing through, keep on going.

I was in town visiting my brother in August. You know...Monsoon Season in AZ. Where else do you go to get out of the heat but somewhere serving chilled beverages, good bar food and the air isn't blistering your skin. I'll confess I was non too thrilled with the beers on tap or even in the bottle. Coors, Bud, Corona and the lights. And was that Michelob? Geez...is it 1979 still and craft beers just a little oat in the field still? Oh yes and one Blue Moon Hefe. I settled for a nice and sweaty glass of Blues. I didn't try the pizza but I did have this outrageously super 'Super Big Beef' Burrito. This was big enough to feed at least two. The beef inside was tasty and moist. Lots of cheese, sour cream, jalapenos, and other gooey good stuff you want in your burrito. This place is pretty large. I think all of the permanent residents of Quartzsite could meet here on any given night and there'd still be room for a passerby or two. I think it has a dance floor and they also do Karoake. Fortunately, we left while they were still setting up for the nights festivities. Would I come back? Definitely. I'm not really sure there is much night life between the Parker town boundaries and Quartzsite. Or air conditioned for that matter! I'll give the fourth star when they add a few more items on the beer list not made by Anheuser Busch or Coors Brewing.

As a former New Yorker, I'm a tough pizza critic. My family and I stopped here on way to Palm Springs because it had descent reviews and there weren't many options. Was the pizza amazing? No, but we weren't expecting it to be. It was good and there were an impressive amount of toppings available as well as a nice assortment of other items. Service was very friendly and the place had an eclectic vibe. I'd highly recommend eating here if you're passing through. But I wouldn't say you'd need to drive out of your way to experience it.

Our first visit to this bar/restaurant took the patrons and staff by surprise. Our family visit comprised of 4 adults and 12 or 13 kids between the ages of 10 months and 15 years didn't upset anyone.we were accommodated promptly with makeshift tables. Our kids were welcomed on the dance floor by the band and patrons alike and were taught a line dance by a patron several generations older than the children. The pizza prices were great, the pizzas were good and the size of the gorilla pizzas were enormous. The kids had enough to eat for that night and lunch the next day.

Could be the scene from a Tarantino movie. Serves excellent pizza! Make sure to stop there for on your way east or west.

  • Marcus U.

Needed to feed the kids on the way to Phoenix from LA and stopped in to Silly Al's. I liked it. The service was good, the prices were decent, the decor was interesting, the clientele was VERY interesting (a bunch of old cowboys it looked like to me), and the pizza was pretty good as well. I didn't have any issue with the karaoke, it was normal volume and added to the entertainment as far as my wife and I were concerned. The only bad thing I can really say is that we asked for extra cheese on our pizza and they actually gave us too much cheese! I mean, I love cheese, but they really went overboard. But maybe they usually use a lot of cheese on their pizzas and since I had never ate there before I was unaware of that. Either way, I asked for extra cheese and I definitely got it, so I can't be too upset.

If you're going to stop in Quartzsite for a bite, this is the easiest (and tastiest) place to get to off the 10. It's on the main drag, the food is pretty decent, and it's air conditioned (a definite plus during the hot summer months). We stopped here and then headed down the street to Reader's Oasis Books to check out the naked bookseller- that truly made our experience in Quartzsite one to remember!

  • Bryan W.

Made the fatal mistake of going back with some friends that wanted to try it. The waitress finally took our order after a long time. She never checked on us after we got our order. Did not refill drinks. The pizza was at best mediocre. We even had a hard time getting our check.

  • Taylor P.

I'm staying in quartzsite for about a month. First time I went here their salads are absolutely delicious! Their ranch is delicious and so is their Italian. Then I also had the spaghetti. That was nasty! Their pizza is good. Then on another try I tried their nachos... Those were just as bad. I could've made better ones at home! Then last night we went in and my boyfriend and I shared the pastrami sandwich.. That was absolutely delicious! Now I know what I'm getting there everytime we go!

When we stopped for gas and food in Quartzsite, I was very surprised to find a restaurant with 4 yelp stars in the area. Feeling pretty lucky for finding a good-sounding restaurant, we headed over. Despite my failed GPS, we saw it from the main road....because it's on the main road, but the address is technically on the side road. There wasn't much parking in the dirt lot, and the slow 15-under-the-speed-limit locals were almost too much for a hungry group, but we made it. The place is definitely interesting. Lots of cool old decor, like tobacco cans from 70 years ago and black and white pictures. We were in the creepy old-pictures-and-paintings-of-little-kids room. Lots of tables too, and booths, and a bar. And sooooooooooo many people. I know it was a Sunday night, but this place was packed! Every seat taken and another 3 or 4 groups waiting in front. We started off with cheese garlic bread which was...amaaaazing. The bread was nice and buttery and there was a ton of garlic and cheese on top. The kind where you can feel every bite clogging your arteries more and more, but you don't care because it's the most delicious thing you've had in a week. I would recommend that everyone get the stuff! For the pizza, 4 of us split the 20" goliath with BBQ sauce, chicken, and cheddar cheese. It turned out to be the perfect size with 3-4 slices per person. The taste was out of this world, definitely compares to my all-time favorite BBQ chicken pizza (Lamppost Pizza) and although it's probably still second best, it's a damn close second. The BBQ sauce was perfectly flavored, a little bit sweet which went well with the cheese while being smokey and BBQy too. Suffice to say, it explains why our pizza was demolished in under 10 minutes. The negatives were the locals and the parking lot. The parking lot is pretty small and is more of a park however you feel like parking type place. Lots of big trucks spread over 2 or 3 spots because they'd be too long otherwise. Good stuff like that. Still, a little circling was enough to get a spot. The other problem were the... gruff locals. Like the ones who, while leaving the restaurant, whisper "excuse me" and then "HEY THERE, GET THE HELL OUT OF MY WAY, ********* ***** ******** " followed by a second group of locals waiting by the door, talking loud enough to *easily* hear their opinion us. Coincidentally, I'm sure. But it's hard being angry at a overall-wearing trailer park rednecks and their blue-haired wives with beehives from the 60s when it's really the meth talking, not them. Ahem. Moving on. The staff were super friendly and our waitress was amazing. All of our drinks were refilled before they got anywhere close to empty, she was nice and put up with our out of town ways, and was always right on the ball with making sure we had everything we needed. If I start making the Phoenix drive a usual thing, this place is definitely going to be on my menu for coming back again and again. Though at 2 hours outside the city, it's too much of a drive, but definitely worth it to remember when passing through. Oh, and the name? Amazing.

  • Barb B.

Everyone we talked to here in Quartzsite told us to try Silly Al's. And yes, the pizza was delicious! We were there on a Sunday evening and it was pretty quiet. But we've heard they have music on Friday & Saturday evenings. Looking for a clean place with a great pie? I'd recommend stopping by this little spot in the desert.

  • Adam F.

A review on Google Local once said it was the "best hand-tossed pizza within 100 miles". Given that it's probably the -only- hand-tossed pizza within 100 miles... that isn't necessarily saying much. From what we could tell, this was the one and only open non-fast-food restaurant on our trip after leaving the greater Palm Springs area and before getting into the greater Phoenix area. We tried a couple other places in Quartzsite that got decent reviews, first... turns out pretty much all of Quartzsite closes down in September, who knew? So we stopped here, and they were at least open. Food was... decent. I could get the same amount of pizza at the same level of quality (totally edible, but nothing amazing) for probably half the cost locally, but you're paying for it being out in the middle of nowhere and not really having other choices, I get that. It was significantly better than Burger King, anyway, albeit also significantly less cheap. Apparently you shouldn't go there at around 7 on a Thursday, though, unless you want to hear old people singing karaoke country songs (they were setting something up when we got there. Turns out that's what it was, we discovered as we were about halfway through our pizza. Surprisingly, most of them could actually sing pretty well, but still. Old people + country songs. Not the greatest thing to eat pizza to.)

  • Judith K.

The pizza was great. The pizza crust was flavorful. The sauce tasted like an Italian sauce should, not like tomato sauce. The meat was very tasty with an abundance of it. The service was also excellent. I definitely recommend this pizza restaurant

  • Todd F.

Wow wow wow! I will get food here everytime I stop on way to Phoenix. The pizza is probably the second best I have ever had. Great service. Don't be deceived by the looks on the outside.

My husband and I decided to road trip from Prescott to Disneyland with our 3 small kids. After driving by a ton if very questionable places we decided to stop at Silly Al's Pizza based on all the good reviews. We were not disappointed. Staff was extremely friendly and the pizza was fantastic. We were having a hard time deciding between the Combo and the Bruschetta and she offered to do half and half. Both were great. Fresh ingredients. The Bruschetta was my favorite as it had a ton of garlic and I'm a garlic lover. I would definitely come again!!!!

    (4)
  • Silvana F.

Their pizza is the best. Did a to-go order last night it was great. They also had some home made pie that was excellent. We will definitely go again. If you go with several people, order the Goliath, its huge!

Shared Al's combo, Greek Salad and a bowl of chili. All remarkable. Friendly and attentive service.

  • Ted S.

The pizza here for me is the highlight of the drive between Phoenix and L.A. Last time we were here on a Friday night, and caught their karaoke. Hey, you Quartzsite locals sing some damn good country tunes! Friendly wait staff every time.

  • LaRae H.

Beer was cold, garlic bread to die for, and the combo pizza was amazing!!! We will be back!!!

If you are up late, as in after 8:00pm in Quartzite, and do not want to go to a fast food joint, then you have two options, and this is one of them. I was in this town over the weekend on a job and we went here for both nights we stayed. I ordered the vegetarian pizza, which was pretty good. In my opinion, it has way too many onions on it, so I suggest ordering without any at all. This is a typical vegetarian pizza, which means it is basically a supreme pizza without meat. The difference being that Al's has cashews on it, which provides an interesting texture. But the quality of the pizza is actually pretty good. Good ingredients and flavor. This town is not known for its variety, but you can find Amber Bock beer which is pretty tasty, as opposed to your usual no flavor American conglomerate beers. Aside from their Pizza, everything is at a very low price, so I was surprised to see the bill for some of the items. The downside is that there is karaoke, and it is a little loud. Also, that there arent really any other vegetarian options. For the amount of "young hippies" that come into town (as described by some of the locals), I would think that they would like to cater to that crowd since the towns income relies so heavily on out of town visitors and "snowbirds".

My boyfriend & I went to Silly Al's for lunch on a road trip from Palm Springs, CA to Phoenix, AZ. As usual, we decided to consult Yelp for restaurant suggestions. When we saw a 4-star rating with 27 reviews in Quartzsite- We knew we had found our restaurant! We sat in the bar area where we had a very friendly server. She was quick to greet us and take our drink order. Draft beers were only $1, so of course, she twisted our arms and we couldn't resist. For lunch, thanks to other Yelpers... We decided to split a large pizza with mushrooms, onions and Canadian bacon. It was absolutely delicious! The ingredients were fresh and the toppings were generous!! Even my boyfriend, "the pizza snob", was impressed with it. One of the things I liked best about Silly Al's, besides the name, of course... Is that it is obvious the restaurant cares about both the customers & employees. It seems like they have a loyal following of "regulars" and that the employees enjoy doing their job!! Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back on our next drive to California!

Great pizza, good entertainment and Kilt lifter on tap. Thanks Al !

Good pizza. Coming from a pizza snob. Old rednecks at the bar getting rowdy at 12:45 on a Monday. BOTTOM LINE: Nuff said

We had pizza, wings, salad and dessert on our way from Tucson to LA. Great service and excellent food. If we were closer it would a regular hangout.

  • Christine L.

Honestly I didn't think I was gonna like this place when we pulled up...it was kind of a last resort to find food late while driving through. WOW!!! This pizza is AMAZING! (And gluten free because I can't have gluten.) My hubby loves his regular crust pizza too. AND live music & dancing...pool & darts. This place rocks!

    (5)
  • Nicole N.

First of all, the service is amazing! Secondly, this is one of the best pizzas I've ever had-and we even got gluten free crust! We stopped on the way from Tucson to LA and I feel like we hit the road trip jackpot. The restaurant itself has a great vibe and the food was amazing. If I ever make this road trip again I'm stopping here without a doubt!

Stop at this pizza place on my way back home. It was pretty good for there only being a few places to go in that town.

I usually visit this place once a year when I'm in town for the rock and mineral shows. It's one of the few actual restaurants in town and the crowds show that. If you're planning on eating here (if it's January or a busy time), plan to wait quite a while. If it's any other time of the year, I assume it's not a problem since the town is much more quiet. The place is a loud bar type setting. It has a bar area as well as a restaurant section, both are pretty connected. When I was last there, we put our name in for a 45 minute wait, but I was able to snag a table in the bar real quick and sit down amongst the chaos. The servers are efficient and pleasant and keep things going when it's really busy. The pizza isn't too shabby... its... pretty standard and not the greatest, but being in the middle of quartzsite, it can hit the spot pretty easily. Ingredients are cheap, but they do take care in their preparation. The beer is pretty cheap and they have a standard assortment of lower level beers. Beer is particularly cheap during happy hour and we split a bunch of pitchers for pretty cheap. So, if you're in town and want a night out for a roarin' bar scene, cheap cold beer, and some standard hot pizza, give the place a go. It's quite a fun experience if you're not used to the type of people that frequent the place!

Stopped in with the wife on a recent vacation. The pizza here is very good. Hand tossed crust. The show is worth the effort. Karaoke and people dancing to the music. One needs to be patient when eating or drinking here. Not sure I would take young children here.

We were driving to California for a weekend vacation and I was hoping a place in Quartzite would have the world cup match. We used yelp and read the reviews for Silly Al's and called to ask if they had the game and they said they would put it on for us and even on the big screen. We thought Big Screen in Quartzsite and Pizza this should be an adventure. Low and behold we pull up to a small place that doesn't look any different from the old town itself. We made it in and to our surprise we were in a really fun place, the people were all local but extremely welcoming and nice. We watched the game had some great pizza and were just amazed that this place can exist in the middle of nowhere. Thanks for letting us watch the match and we will definitely make an attempt to come back. They take AMEX too

Oh me, oh my! Yes, what a find in a desolate location. Well was with a crew including two little ones trying to find a cool location to let kids (2 yo) run around while getting a little breather and maybe a bite to eat drink. Just really stumbled on Silly Al's and yes, what an oasis. $1 draft beer! with at least 4 or was it 5 different varieties! Sure it was Bud, Bud light, Coors etc. but what a great deal and cool breather on a drive to Phoenix from Los Angeles. The large combination pizza was a winner as well which included sausage, pepperoni, black olives, mushrooms, onions and they were willing to hold the bell peppers due to an intolerance in one in our group. Large bar/lounge/sports bar/diner all in one. Karaoke on some night we we're there. Lots of tv screens for all you sports fans. Stage for live music and entertainment. Waitresses very cool and accoodating, plenty of parking and very kid friendly. This is a worthwhile stop for those cruising through this town.

This is a great place to get a yummy meal. The pizza is great the chicken Parmesan is great as well. I really like that the chicken is not greasy, breaded and fried. The prices are very reasonable. This is a place where the locals hang out which speaks to the quality of the food, price and excellent service. This is a great place to stop and enjoy a great meal.

The atmosphere was good, the food was good and the prices were fair.

The pizza was just ok. If I had nothing else to choose from but McDonald's or Carl's Jr which is also on this strip, sigh, I might go for them unless I REALLY had to have pizza. Got the garlic cheese bread everyone was raving about. I found that the bread itself was a little sweet which was weird. I had a bite and was done. That was a waste. It had a lot of cheese but the bread wasn't crispy. I personally like a crispier crust garlic bread. The food would probably taste better if you had a hangover or the munchies.

Totally loved this place. We were coming back to L.A. from Phoenix, very tired and thirsty and with our 10 month old little one. This place couldn't have been a better stop! Great food, $1 draft beer (and my favorite brand too!), and huge very very yummy pizzas. I found this place on Yelp, thanks so much for a great dinner!

Stopped here while driving back to Phx after the Parker tube float due to the Yelp reviews. $1 beers & $1.50 (AMAZING) Bloody Marys. Yes please. The pizza & wings were good and very inexpensive. Def recommend!

We stopped in Quartzide for a meal while on our way to California. Since we were in a hurry we had a sandwich instead of pizza. The skinny dip (aka french dip) was average in taste. Not very impressive, but it is pizza place. The place is decorated in Western decor and has a couple of pools tables which makes the place inviting. When we go back to California we will make sure to go back and have the pizza.

    (3)
  • Dan G.

Really the best pizza I've had in a while. Great vibe in this place, old school western decor with a lot of colorful locals to watch. The service is basic, but it's a pizza joint after all.

Update: We're raising our 4 stars to 5. They put the World Cup Soccer game on the big screen tv just for us. Thank you. Driving between AZ and CA can be pretty dismal food-wise. There's not much beyond fast food. But Silly Al's is a great change of pace. Great value, good food, friendly service. It takes a bit longer than fast-food drive through, but it makes a nice break.

Always an outstanding time during the shows around the area in January. This is our 13th year and always have our group dine and dance at Silly Als! Robby and his team are exceptional when it comes to excellent pizza and service. The servers are really up to speed with our food and drinks!!!! Fun place! We will be there again in a few days! Thank you Robby!

So it looks a little sketch from the outside, but this is the best pizza within 100 miles! Fresh ingredients and a no-frills drinks menu. Bar area and karaoke. Very fair food and drinks prices too!

Good local bar/pizza joint with solid pizza, PBR on tap, pool tables and friendly staff. Worth a stop if you are passing through. Eat all of your pizza though - the crust is about 70% air and will be a soggy mess tomorrow.

Silly Al's is a charming little pizzeria in the blip of a town, on the edge of Arizona, called Quartzsite. Situated off the main street in town, it's a tiny squat building that looks as unassuming as any of the other buildings and shops. Once inside, you are greeted with a wonderfully spacious dining area and bar. It's dark, but the spaciousness of the place doesn't make it feel shady or oppressive. It's also wonderfully cool, a plus on days like today that leave you boiling as soon as you leave the car. The server took her time to come over, but it's the sort of place that doesn't bother me too much. Once my friend arrived, the order was placed and the pizza eventually made its way out to us. The cheese was thick and somewhat greasy, but the pesto sauce was great and the peppers were nice and crunchy still. If you're passing between Palm Springs to Phoenix and are hungry, stop in. It's decent food at a good price. And considering the other options for road food are more trash from the chain restaurants that splatter all over our highways, you could do far worse.

We were heading back to Phoenix at the end of our vacation and I pulled up Google maps on the Evo to scan for places to grab some lunch. I was surprised to see something in Quartzsite that actually had reviews, and some good ones at that. So I called to ask what time they opened and much to my surprise they fire up the ovens at 10am for lunch. We ordered the Meat Lovers pizza and a side of cheese bread to get the kiddos started. The sauce is quite good, but is a little thin for my taste. But the pizza, let me tell you, Al knows how to put toppings on a pizza my friends. The amount of toppings on the 12" pizza we ordered would have covered 3 pizzas from Pizza Hut. Our hunger was satisfied for hours. The decor is old style western, with a couple of pool tables, a full service bar, and while it doesn't look terribly inviting on the outside (welcome to Quartzsite) the inside is quite charming. The restrooms were clean and well stocked as well. So if you are feeling hungry when cruising down the 10, it will be hard to do better than Al's.

Went for dinner with 15 people and it was pretty good, although listening to karaoke blasting so loud was not my cup of tea. Then went for lunch and ordered the Al's Special Salad. I was starving and wanted a big salad. The waitress came over and didn't offer drinks, and didn't write down the order, and when I was ordering, I wanted no peppers and the sausage on the side. Well, make sure, if you want a large salad to tell them, because appaently they aren't going to ask if you want the small or large, they just bring you the small one. Which is the same as their dinner salad without the sausage, but two bucks more! When she brought the salad, I asked in surprise if it was the "special" salad, and she ran away saying yes over he shoulder. She then ignored us for the rest of the meal. My husband had the italian sausage sandwich and said it was good. Oh yeah, they put pepperoni on my plate and I asked for no sausage on it. I gave it to the husband. I am giving 2 stars, both for the hubby's food and the overall taste. Our server never came back to our table. :-/ When we went to pay, I told the girl at the register, our waitress then made an appearance and said that she didn't know I wanted a large salad. If she had asked, she would have known...

Their slogan is "If you haven't been to Silly Al's ... You haven't been to Quartzsite!' They arennnnnnnnnnnnnnn't kidding! Our first visit was on Saturday night, and the parking lot was well packed. Luckily,, as we drove in, a crowd of visibly happy folks piled into their trucks, waving and smiling as they left. Where we come from, that would signal drunkeness, but that's just standard in Quartzsite. It's that kinda town, all over. Anyway, we entered, impressed at the sheer volume of the conviviality issuing forth from the doors as we opened them. there should have been a sign saying "Major Happiness served here!" The band was small, loud and good! The bar takes up a good portion of the east wall, and will be visited when we don't have to be up early to tend our show space. The wait staff is harried but good humored. We were seated instanly, with a grin from the waitress as she apologized in advance for any undue wait for our food. She needn't have ... The wait was shorter than we expected, barely long enough to finish our first beer. The dance floor was filled with folk of all ages, even forming a snake line at one point. And it was loud in there! We had to yeel to chat, but happiness reigned! Our order taken, we enjoyed the controlled chaos around us; people having fun in a place that was meant to be fun. The perfect ending to any great day. Our pizza's arrived; a Meditteranian and a Philly Cheese Steak. Both had a white sauce and a surprise: The sauces were DIFFERENT! Separate sauces! PERFECT sauces! The crust was thin, slightly bready, with a crunch that faded to a slight chewiness. Thin and sturdy, and just right. Perefct toppings, real calamata olives, plentiful feta, artichoke hearts and some of the best sausage (an added topping) ever on the Med, and the Philly was just a sgreat. Add the Pabst on tap in "pounders" and the walls covered with kitsche and ... I'm gushing, aren't I? When in Quartzsite during show season, don't miss it!

Stopped by this little spot on a trip across the country, and we were impressed. First, we sat at the bar and were treated so well. That day they had $1 PBR's and the pizza was awesome. We wanted two different kinds of pizza, but the bartender told us she would be happy to split the pizza into two different kinds. We had half Al's Special and half RUEBEN pizza. They were both some of my favorite pizza I have had. Also, for an app we had a bowl of their chili, and it was really good as well. All in all, if you are ever heading through Arizona on I-10, just pull off onto Main St and go to Al's. It was awesome.

The Italian Trio was yummy, but can't recommend the taco salad. There was a lot of it! But it was a lot of the same four ingredients ( lettuce, chicken, tomatoes, and cheese) so it got old quick. But for a inexpensive quick stop, I'd recommend this place!

This is 4 stars for being where it is and what it is. Dark bar, with decent pizza in the middle of nowhere. Not a bad place to stop if you're on the 10. Friendly service.

We were ravenous when we arrived at this pizza joint in Quartzsite. It appeared to be the most happening place around on a Thursday afternoon. People were already drinking heavily when we entered the dimly lit bar/restaurant. Good sign. We ordered two Jack and Cokes, a beer, and a large meat and cheese pizza and the personal veggie. Unfortunately the Pesto pizza DOES contain MILK! The food was pretty good, but I was pretty surprised when we got our bill and it was over $50. If you are trying to conserve cash nix the drinks.

Maybe a mistake. I ordered a $16 12" pizza to go. When I opened the box at home, it only had Canadian bacon and tomatoes. Where was everything else? I will open it there next time.

Heard the spaghetti and meatballs was wonderful. All I can say is the spaghetti and meatballs is awesome. I also happened to be there on karoke nite and if you have never seen 80 year old people singing karoke, well there are no words to describe it. I stopped in on my way to los angeles and on the way back, I will be stopping in to try something else as the menu looked awesome. I will probably get some spaghetti to take home as well. The meatballs and sauce were really tasty!

YUMMMMMMYYYYY. What a great spot for lunch when traveling between Phoenix and California . We always check out YELP reviews for good eating places and the reviews on this great find were spot on. We called ahead about 6 miles out. When we got there, we ordered our beers, a salad and within 5 minutes our hot, yummy pizza was served.

In the middle of what seems to be the motor home capitol of the west, Quartzsite, Silly Al's has better pizza than you would expect and friendly fast service. It's not New York pizza by a long shot but it's better than going to Mc Donald's on the road. I like the antique desert stuff hanging on the walls and the 1946 calander on the wall.

We dropped in during our visit to Quartzite receently , since it had the best reviews on Yelp. The place was very busy and loud. We went in and found a table. The waitress was right over with menus and taking beverage orders. She did advise that the pizzas would be about 40 minutes as it was very crowded. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and a medium pizza to share. Well, we wished we had not ordered the aspaghetti, it tasted like they just opened one of those HUGE cans of sauce from Smart and Final and heated it up, YUCKY!!! The pizza was another story, we should have ordered an extra large and had left overs. It was soooo good. We over heard people ordering beer and drinks and the prices seemed very reasonable, but we had soft drinks. We will definately go back if we ever venture over there again and it is still in business.

This and the Jerky Deli are the best grub in Quartzsite. Our favorite is the spinach alfredo pizza with double spinach. The chicken parmiagna is pretty good, too, as is the spaghetti they supply with it. The spaghetti is actually better the next day or so. When fresh, it is very sweet and garden-y, and is quite enjoyable. But, a day or two later, it acquires a depth and complexity that makes it even better. We always make a point to order some to take home and age. The garlic bread supplied with your meal is eminently forgettable, but the cheese/garlic bread ordered extra is excellent. You need to schedule your visits around their entertainment schedule, though, depending on your tastes in music and/or karaoke.

We stopped in Quartzite and decided to try this place after looking at a couple reviews. Had the breadsticks, and medium Meat Lovers and Spinach Alfredo pizzas. Not only were they fresh and obviously handmade, they were truly excellent; perfectly baked and piled high with ingredients. The four of us only managed to finish half of each pizza. It was an awesome find!

The pizza was very good. The place definitely has character. The wait staff was a little inattentive but besides that it was al right. Free WiFi is a good plus. Will go back when aim back in Quartzite.

I don't even like pizza, but this was AMAZING!!!!! My sis and I shared a Greek salad and a veggie pizza. The helpful waitress steered us to the smallest size pizza, which turned out to be plenty big enough -- and was AMAZINGLY delicious! They put cashews on it (?????!), which was weirdly delicious! Salad was great, too! Wine was something like $3.50 a glass, so the prices are reasonable...and the ambiance was great. They had a live band playing, and the room was really rocking. We had a blast!!!!! This was the best place I ate in Quartzsite by a MILE -- will DEFINITELY come here again!

We were honestly just looking for a place to stop for lunch on our way back to LA from Prescott, AZ. Silly Al's was the only place other than fast food that seemed to be open so we decided to try it. It was really great! First of all, they do a good job of keeping the heat out. It was nice and cool and dim inside. Next, we appreciated the gluten free options that were available since my friend is gluten free. Finally, and most importantly, the pizza was delicious. We had a large spinach alfredo split between 3 of us and we were quite content when we were finished. My only complaint is that the pizza took a really long time to make, but it seems understandable given how fresh it tasted. This a great place to stop if you're roadtripping between CA and AZ :)

Have been here a few times...last night we walked out. Very crowded and two waitresses were extremely rude. Rolling their eyes etc. pizza in the past was good, but I don't need the attitude. Went to Crazy Jerrys instead. No bar so it's quieter. Pizza not quite as good but wings are good and staff is nice and acts like they actually want you there. Not a lot to choose from so I guess you have to pick your poison.

Silly Al's is OK. It is probably one of the best places in town to eat. The pizza is just average, but they have lots of variations of it. The service is good, and they have plenty of TV's for game watching. We were here in January, which is probably their busiest month of the year due to all the visiting RVers in town, so it was packed the times we were in.

We stopped in at Silly Al's tonight for some pizza. And it was very good. It looked like the entire population of Quartzite was there. I can definitely recommend the pizza here -- very tasty and fresh. Their house burgundy is a nice compliment to the pizza. Tonight was karaoke with some good singers. All in all, a fun experience. Next time through here we will definitely stop in.

During the RV show, you better show up early, it's packed. Great Food, Good Happy hour at Bar and prices are OK.....its the atmosphere that makes it interesting, it's always hopping and fun to sit back and watch. We go every year we are in "Q".

In our 16 years of coming to Quartzsite, Silly Al's is the best pizza place around. Wait time can be lengthy if you come in January or February as that is when the population of quartzite is at its greatest. Cold beer great sandwiches fantastic pizza and good Italian food, your wait will be worth it.

On the quartzsite scale of restaurants, this restaurant is definitely a three (would have been a two elsewhere). Pros: salad exceeded expectations (was an actual lettuce blend instead of the iceberg I was expecting), server was attentive Cons: pizza (bruschetta pizza) had way too much garlic and way too much sauce. Also, the bathroom was slightly below what one would encounter at a rest stop. There were no toilet seat covers, barely a latch to hold the door closed (any voyeur could easily sneak a peak), and your knees were pushed right up against the door. The decor lends itself to more than one Instagram photo. It's kitschy look could be a pro or con depending on how you see it.

You will never stop for fast food in Quartsite again. Check your GPS and order when you are 20 minute away. Nothing better than good pizza and a beer to break up the long haul of a CA/AZ road trip!

We stopped by at this pizza place on the way back home from Phoenix. You wouldn't even think quartsize had anything other than a truck stop and a gas station but sure enough there's silly als. The decor is very rustic And they have a bar. But what we went for was the pizza. It was great. Super cheesy not too much sauce and not too greasy. Definitely take an immodium if you're dairy sensitive. This place is worth making the pit stop.
