Really good and affordable food. We have not been disappointed. Friendly good staff as well.

Try their new AM Pile. Scrambled eggs with (mild) green chile and lots of cheese over the most incredible paper-thin potato chips. A great meal!

We ate at the Picnic Basket the Monday after Easter Weekend. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I had a Chicken , Bacon and Green Chile sandwich and my husband had the Burger. The home-made potato chips were paper thin and perfectly cooked-crispy and not burnt. Also-the coffee was excellent. We were waited on by the owners and even though they were very busy, they remained friendly and pleasant. They are local folks and seem to know everybody! Can't wait to go back to Pinetop to try some more of the things on the menu. Looks like a great breakfast place.

I had an excellent breakfast this morning. The only problem was that the service was too slow.

Best biscuits ever! Moist, large and they melt in your mouth. An idea would be to make some homemade jam to go with those prize winning biscuits. The service there has improved greatly. It's not as slow as it used to be. Just a small reminder would be to keep ice in the tea. For some reason, ice is scarce in the tea there. Doesn't keep me away. This is my favorite breakfast place on the mountain. Good job!

My boss and I thought we would try this place, since we are up here every 4 weeks and have ate at a lot of other places in the pinetop-show low area. We called in are order for pick up since we are always on the go. We both ordered ham and cheese sandwiches and I got the chips with mine. They were above average sandwiches and the chips were really good! The owner was there Johnny Johnson and he was really nice! Can't wait to try the coffee store they opened downstairs!

We stopped in for breakfast. The pancakes were fluffy and the AM Pile Up was fantastic. The restaurant is neat and clean. The service was very good. We will be going back the next time in town.

Cute place. At first they missed us on our seating as we were waiting outside, but quickly and politely recovered when we asked. Slow service, but friendly staff. Food was tasty, hot, fresh. Four stars because it was good, but they need to work out the service issues.

Great county eating I had the pancakes and I give them a thumbs up as big as a record, moist and crunchy. I also had the breakfast burrito with the apple wood bacon that was out of this world. This is a great home town cooking with great service warm and loving.

Was very surprised by how much cuter, warm and comfortable the interior was versus how one might misjudge it from the exterior. Great breakfast menu with some unique dishes but also all the traditional stuff as well. Very good service too. Will definitely be back for breakfast and look forward to trying their lunch menu.

Went there for the first time today. Food was quite good and reasonably priced. Interior is cute and the place is clean. Would have been a 5 if the service we quicker. We were there about 10 AM. Wasn't busy but the service was slow.

We had a business meeting at the Picnic Basket and needed a little bit of privacy. The owners were so accommodating and very helpful in arranging tables in the back for us. The server was incredibly attentive, fast and made sure that we were wll taken care of without interrupting our meeting. I order the Green Chili Chicken Hoagie and was very impressed. The chicken was grilled and moist and the green chili was covered with a generous layer of melted havarti cheese. We will be back often and will look forward to our next visit.

This is not a place to take a large family. I ordered the home fries and got hash browns the item I ordered did not say it had onions when it came to the table it was full of onions I would have sent it back but it took to long to get. The service was slow. I would not stop again.

Average food, terrible service. Good homemade chips and BLT. They were out of pie, but still had it on the menu board. No ice in the iced tea.

Our first time here. Service was great, especially for the mountain. Homemade chips are really good. Fries were good. Wife's mushroom & havarti burger was tasty. Bun was notable. I had the fish. Tartar sauce didn't come out with it. Tomatoes were very green. Fish was squishy. Roll was really good. I would recommend but wouldn't consider it a great stop.

I know the reviews here are mostly ok, but my husband and I had breakfast here today on one of our many trips. I wish I could say good things, but cannot, other than the waitress was very friendly. I had the Hen House, 2 scrambled eggs, 3 pieces of bacon and ordered crispy hash browns and a biscuit with gravy. My husband asked what was recommended and agreed to the chicken fried steak with hash browns, crispy, and 2 over medium eggs and an English muffin. The decor is quaint and the regular coffee was ok, but not excellent. It took about 30 minutes for our meals to arrive. My scrambled eggs had no seasoning at all, the hash browns were limp, rather than crispy and tasted like old potatoes. The bacon on 2 slices was half cooked and so salty I couldn't finish even one piece before gulping down water. I tried to give the rest to my husband, but he declined after half of one piece and we both LOVE bacon. How do you screw up bacon? The biscuit was moist and came with a passable country gravy (no sausage). My husband asked me to taste his chicken fried steak, which I did and immediately said it tasted strongly of fish, which he also acknowledged. I immediately thought they hadn't changed the fryer oil after doing a fish fry, but when we both tried the middle of the steak, there wasn't a fish flavor. That led us both to think that the flour dredge used was also used for fish, as many of the poorer restaurants do. This is a major cross contamination issue. Needless to say, neither of us finished our meal there and left very disappointed. This meal cost $28.00. Totally not worth your time or money. Our beloved Darbi's Cafe had nothing to worry about, there is no competition.

We had a very nice experience here. Very friendly server, very good food with a hometown atmosphere. At our table we had a BLT and a ham, egg and potatoes plate. All was good. We will be back.

Great place with the feel of home I ordered the Garden Basket Skillet with Rye Bread. The bread was thick and tasted fresh baked. Whenever I am in the area, I will definitely go again.

Wife and I had breakfast there and it was okay. French toast was dry and looked and tasted like it hadn't been dipped at all. Eggs Benidict English Muffin was doughy and wast not toasted at all. Staff was friendly and it was packed with Sunday morning diners.

Better than moms!! We had the AM Pileup and a couple of ginormous pancakes. The Pileup was amazing -- a mound of homemade potato chips smothered in scrambled eggs, green peppers and bacon, topped with melted cheddar. To die for. The pancakes were exactly the right texture and absolutely delicious. They were also HUGE. I'd guess almost a foot across. The service was fast, friendly, and professional. Seriously, if you want breakfast or lunch in Pinetop, you gotta try this place. Small, clean, and kinda Midwest homey. We loved it.

Just good food. My party of four ordered breakfast and lunch. Delicious. Biscuits and gravy came simply and were tasty, didn't even have to add pepper to it. The side order of ham steak was thick and was hearty enough to fill up my brother who is a meat eater. The sandwiches my sister and I ordered came piled high with french fries falling off the plate. My green chili chicken was good, I would have preferred more of a kick to it but it was a good sandwich. My sister had the steak hoagie and said it was good also. 4/5 stars for the restaurant trying not to be fancy but to stay true to it's name. Easy and laid back service.

Darby's was mobbed, so we decided to go some place new. I had cheese omelet and home fries. My husband had pouched eggs, English muffin, home fries. My cheese omelet had very little cheese. Our home fries were soft, not crispy and all we could taste was grease. English muffin doesn't get toasted. They warm it on grill, just barely. The worst part was the after effects. Both of us had upset stomachs and could barely eat the rest of the day. The food was way too greasy. The cost for the breakfast was over $25. Definitely not worth it. We feel badly having to give such a bad review, but we never had such a disappointing breakfast.

The food was really good! Stopped here during our trip back home Customer Service: Our server was really sweet and friendly. Food: Delicious! I had the spinach and more omelette and my boyfriend had Philly steak omelette. Large serving size. We were nice and full. Haha Price: $25. 2 omelettes, coffee, and orange juice Bathrooms: clean and smell nice. The toilet takes some time to flush but hold down the handle it should flush. Both men and women's room. We'll definitely stop here again.
