Cute little place inside the Union Market at the Biltmore. Staff is super friendly. I ordered the hand cut pasta with pork jus - simply delicious with a hint of citrus in there (or was it just me). The pasta was cooked perfectly and the pork jus was light and flavorful. I would definitely order that again. Hubs ordered the Fat Boy pizza (bacon, sausage, pickled peppers, red onion, cream) $17 added a poached egg on top (extra $2). He enjoyed it but I'm not a fan of the pickled peppers. My brother and his wife shared the Mushroom pizza (house made sausage, red onion, garlic, thyme) $16 added a poached egg on top (extra $2). Their's was pretty bomb. We also ordered the Crispy Cheese Curds in a simmered tomato sauce $8. Very good. Also ordered the Oven Baked Eggs (2 eggs, sausage, mushroom, pepper, onion) $12. That was good, if you were able to get some of the egg yolk on it. Yum just thinking about it.

Came on a Friday night and it turns out it was only the second night open. Service was great. Got the crispy cheese curds which were delicious. Highly recommended. Definitely a highlight. For the main course we got a Margherita pizza and the fat boy pizza. Margherita, while intended to be a simple pie, was a little too simple and borderline bland. The Fat Boy Pizza on the other hand was very flavorful. The pickled peppers had us a little worried at first but it turned out to be the ingredient that made it so tasty! Ended with the swirl soft serve to go with lucky charms. Great treat to end dinner with. I'd definitely come back for the handcrafted thin pizza!

I had lunch here this week with a friend who suggested this place. It is in the Biltmore shopping area and while the place is small, it does have a larger patio. We did not try the pizza instead we both opted for the BLT salad. What we were served was a salad with minimal bacon but tons of bread crumbs. Skimpy salad, nothing to it, cost $11. Service was good but with all the restaurants in this town, this place has some work to do to get me to try it again.

Absolutely love this place! Great people, fabulous food, unique decor. The cheese curds are addictive. The pizza is amazing and they've got a good selection of draft beers. Running out of adjectives. Check this place out! You won't be disappointed.

The feel of this place is what I liked the most. It is decorated super trendy and you have to walk through these little shops to get to it. The outdoor patio with the fireplace looked nice, but we went during the day so it wasn't on. The margarita pizza was salty yet simple. The dry rub ribs were good but nothing special. The meat was tender, which is a plus, but the spices just didn't mix with my taste buds. Some people might really enjoy them! Overall, this place has the potential to be really good. Maybe since we came when they first opened for the day, we didn't get the best food. Not sure if I will be back...If I do, I'll have to come in the evening since that is what most of the reviewers liked best.

The price is definitely a $$-$$$ sort of affair, the kind of place you want to go to on a cool Phoenix evening. The food was amazing, the service varied from spot on to unenthusiastic but attentive depending on what waiter you got. So why not a 5 star? Maybe I am not the target audience here, but the Biltmore is not a convenient location. Parking, and navigation are a bear. The portions could be a bit bigger, and if the goal is to get you to order an appetizer, then we are definitely in the $$$ threshold of pricing.

The third Thursdays supper club. And last night we had our monthly dinner at the Forge. Chef Tony did a wonderful job putting together an interesting and very tasty dinner for my group. We took over half of their courtyard, which is in the center of the Biltmore shopping center. For anyone who's been there, you know it's a very nice setting. Dinner started out with an appetizer of ribs over red cabbage slaw. The ribs have a dry rub which I really like. The Red cabbage slaw was simple, but it went well with the ribs . Then they brought out octopus on crostini. The octopus was very fresh and tender. Our final appetizer was the star of the show, crab cakes. Not on the menu, the cakes were something special he made for our group. My wife claims they're the best crabcake she's ever had. I'm not a big seafood person so I am not a good judge. But I'll take your word for it :-). I will ask the in future if the chef is cooking up anything special in the back. Before placing my order. The main course they brought out an assortment of pizzas, varying from a meat lovers "fat boy" to a vegetarian cauliflower pizza. Some of the more spicy with red sauce some not spicy and without sauce. A little something for every taste.these sourdough base for their pizza crust and all of the pizzas are cooked well and have a nice Christmas to them. I really enjoyed their pizzas. Finally for a couple people who still had room they gave out some softserve ice cream. I have to say I try to fight and it was excellent.

This is a hard place to review. If I completely based the pizza that I got it would be a 5 star review. The pizza was delicious and is one of the best I have had in the state. There are a few issues with this restaurant though. I didn't like the layout of the restaurant. At night the only seats that are open were a couple booths. It is like a mini restaurant. There is outdoor seating, but that wasn't really a viable option in the winter. I guess it is more of a bar in the evening. Despite being the only people there the service was kind of slow. I wasn't fond of having to walk the entire outdoor mall to have to get to the restaurant either. This is due to the fact that you can't park anywhere near the restaurant. The server was friendly just slow. Despite the food being good I wouldn't go back even if I lived closer to the restaurant.

I came to Forge this past weekend with the husband for lunch and must say that it was ok with the potential of being good. The service was attentive without being overbearing. We decided to stick to the basics to get an idea of their food and ordered a margherita pizza and a burger with cheddar, aioli on the side. The burger seemed ot be made of high quality beef, but was fairly bland... it could have used more seasoning in the meat or a more interesting topping (had plain lettuce, tomato, onion). The bun didn't hold up to the burger, getting totally soaked by the burger juices and soggy. The fries that came with it were good, but for 13$ I am looking for a more flavorful burger. The pizza had a really tasty crust, I enjoyed it a lot, but the toppings were, again, bland. It had limited cheese (which is ok), but the sauce had limited flavor and the whole thing was boring. I could see their specialty pizzas being better, as the toppings would add some flavor, but I feel that a pizza place should have a good basic pizza as a solid base (especially for 13$). Anyway, I would give this place another shot, but it isn't at the top of my list at this point.

It's a little hard to figure out where Forge ends and the rest of the shopping area starts, it's a strange layout. The pizza was great even though I really don't have that defined of a taste for gourmet pizza. The mozzarella isn't covering the pizza like you're probably used to, it's in little pillows like you'd see on the Food Network. Very tasty and the crust was perfect. The chef gave us a few samples of his made from scratch chocolate and it was some of the best we've ever had. Will definitely be back!

It was good. Had the special pizza of the week, will definitely go back to try the cauliflower pizza. The beer cheddar brocholi soup was stupid good. Can't wait to get back there. Good rotation of beers on tap

Awesome place. Julie the bartender was awesome. The food is excellent. Highly recommend! If you work at the mall they give you a ten percent discount which doesn't hurt haha. But discount or not, this place has verrrrrry good pizza and I'm allowed to make that judgement because I am from New York and I know what good pizza is haha.

Had the pepperoni pizza was good but service was so slow and brought the pizza and our first cocktails out at the same time. Overall good food but service needs to step up

Talk about a craft beer line up! Bar staff us friendly and the decor is awesome. Great place to hang out inside at the bar watch a game on the scene or hit the patio with the pup. People know their food and drink and it shows!

Union at the Biltmore has itself a winning combination now that Forge Pizza is open! The restaurant sports an industrial yet cozy steel and burnt wood design, 100% wood-fired oven that serves as a focal point, a sprawling patio, and impressive bar menu. Check out the Baby Octopus, Mushroom Pizza, and a craft beer from their meticulously procured list.

Hands-down the most amazing pizza yet with local craft beer and mixed drinks to make your dining experience a fantastic one! The two Drinks you must try are the local craft desert swarm beer and the dark and stormy mixed drink. They are phenomenal! They use only local fresh and natural ingredients that are made especially for them such as their sausage and pepperoni which you have to try. Our server Josh was just as amazing. This was our first time here and he was extremely patient and helpful as well as vey attentive which made ALL the difference in a GOOD vs GREAT dining experience

Went her last night. We found a groupon for this place and decided to give it a try. This place surprised us! A fun, modern, rustic place is a great break in this hotty toddy complex at the Biltmore. They had a small yet unique selection of beers and wine. My husband had the organic Honey and Basil beer, very good! I had the house red wine. We started with the Cheese Curds with marinara sauce... Best I've ever had!! Would come here just for those. Luckily the pizza was delicious as well! We got the Mushroom And Sausage pizza and added Arugula. It's a very small place where you can watch the cook make and bake your pizza in the brick fire oven! We can't wait to go back and take some of our friends. And as usual... That patio... Can't wait to enjoy that cute fire pit. If I had one bad thing to say it would be the staff and to warm up to us. Not very friendly at first.

The deal: margherita Monday pizza AND a bottle of wine for $20, DEAL. Wait, what's the catch? Is it just one slice or just one glass?!? No?! A whole pizza and a whole bottle? Yes! We had our choice of white or red wine with our pizza. This was a no brainer. Only red goes with margherita. The Malbec wine was from Argentina, and although it wasn't a Malbec from Washington state, it was still very good. The pizza was thin crust and yummy, and the waiter (Robbie) was fun, attentive, and laughed at our jokes, which gives him 5 stars for sure. Chocolate for dessert was chocolate heaven and the donut holes dipped in chocolate sauce (the other dessert that we ordered) was also more chocolate heaven! Our party of four had three rounds of the Monday night special, and we were able to walk home with one of the bottles that wasn't uncorked. Technically, a party of two could just have one round, but we had at least one in our party who had not eaten lunch! Great place. The fire pits will be very inviting in the winter months.

It's a neat space inside the Union of the Biltmore Fashion Square. The names of the drinks and beers are fun, however, I'm thinking maybe they were chosen for names and not the taste.. The blonde I had was very hoppy and so I wasn't really able to enjoy it. The cheese curds were pretty good. There were some nice big pieces and the batter is very light and fluffy. Unfortunately, some of the larger pieces had a lot of uncooked batter inside that ruined the taste in the ends. The tomato sauce was a good accompaniment, but I would've liked a slightly larger and maybe wider mouthed dish to hold it though as the sauce is kind of watery and hard to get an appreciable amount on the curd just by dipping. We got the mushroom pizza which had sausage and red onions on it. We do enjoy mushrooms usually but this was too much for us.. It was too heavy and earthy and I kind of suspect they use canned mushrooms for it.. I could be wrong. Anyway, the crust was actually pretty good and crispy throughout. I think it's a little pricey but it might be worth it if you can find the right combination of toppings for the pizza. It's a pretty large size so one can easily feed 2 people. I guess that would still put you at about 30 bucks if you get a couple beers though..

Really enjoyed our dinner at Forge. We went with another couple, and will definitely be returning. The pizzas were quite good. And we really liked the BLT salad. After hearing all the raving reviews on Yelp about the cheese curds, we decided to try them as well. All very good, and the service was super. Had a nice glass of "house" white wine that was very reasonably priced. Cool patio as well. Happy to recommend Forge.

Great pet friendly patio, attentive service and good food in a convenient location in the Biltmore shopping center. We stopped in for dinner last week and shared the brussel sprouts and a mainlander pizza. The food was good, but not great...especially considering all of the amazing pizza choices we have in the Phoenix area. The Forge is definitely a great option when looking for somewhere casual to eat at the Biltmore with your furry friend.

So very good! Started with the shishito peppers. Delish, the lemon with the peppers was excellent. The cheese curds. Get them. Get them again. Pizzas: we had the corn and chorizo, the Fat Boy, and the spinach with prosciutto. They were all impeccable. The corn and chorizo had a little spice and the ricotta was smooth. The Fat Boy was spicy and meaty. I will go back and try every last thing on that menu. Really great wine list too. Not pretentious. Great choices at good prices. Don't know who put this joint together but they did a great job. Robby our waiter was fun and knowledgable. If he didn't know the answer, he made up a good one!!

Nice ambience and friendly staff. But..... The pizza is just ok... They claim to be Neapolitan accredited but the pizza does not meet that standard.... It is much more main stream with a chewier crust, and non standard ingredients. I n short, the pizza was ok but it is NOT Pomo..... We tried the margarita pizza that had no tomato on it?.... The mushroom was tasty but not what we were looking for.... Decent bar and good beer selection...

  • Jacqueline M.

As far as pizza parlors go, this establishment ranks supreme on my palate. The forge comes deliciously close to Pomo, in that their pizza is certified Neapolitan. From the wood burning Mugnaini that cooks the pizzas perfectly at 700 degrees, these thin but extremely flavorful slices give you an experience akin to a traditional Italian Pizzeria. You may not be a pepperoni pizza fan, but a die hard cheese pizza lover converted to this pepperoni pizza (per recommendation of the server) and never looked back. It's the savory play between the red onion and pepperoni, combined with the heat of the jalapenos, and the subtle sweetness of the San Marzano tomatoes. Bake the above on an unleavened dough that doesn't come frozen or prepackaged, and you have an amazingly fresh tasting pizza. Aside from the pizza offerings, there are surprisingly delectable plates to be enjoyed here. A healthy must try (especially for $6 during happy hour) is the arugula salad. A whole lot of crispy fresh green with the crunch of croutons and radishes, shaved Italian Grana cheese, Finished with an incredible lemon anchovy vinaigrette. Love the crispy brussel sprouts and deep fried cheese curds, two polar opposites but both dishes that spell comfort and joy on the lips. Intoxicants are always well made, balanced, and beautifully paired with their ingredients. I highly recommend the "Devil's Slipper" with tequila, hibiscus, and agave. Last but not least, service has always been fast and attentive. Servers actually like to chat and get to kn ow their patrons. Tey take the time to answer your questions and make recommendations. You feel welcome here, you can relax here, and enjoy the amazing music that is always playing in the industrial looking space. On my last visit I heard more than one Citizen Cope song. I love it here - because on every visit they have gotten it all right. Food, service, ambiance, comfort, flavor.

As good as it gets. The whole point of dining out is not just the food, not just the company and not just the ambience. It is a combination of all three. Forge pizza had it all when we ate there on a Monday night. First, we noticed the cleverly-placed blackboard advertising the Monday night special which was a Margherita pizza and a bottle of wine for $20. Sounds like a perfect recipe for date night, especially with the NCAA basketball finals playing on a big screen TV in the background (Duke won). We decided as a group that we were going to enjoy the outdoor patio so we found a table and sat. We were immediately welcomed by the waiter, Robbie, and the entertainment/meal commenced. As there were only four of us we decided to start with two pizzas and two bottles of Argentinian Malbec. Great choice. The special pizzas are 14 inches. Mmmmm! We devoured those and decided that another special was required. So we ordered another. That pizza bit the dust in no time and it was time for dessert. Homemade chocolate to die for and donut holes dipped in chocolate. Holy crap-I am still drooling. As we waded through our meal, our ever-attendant waiter kept us entertained and not wanting for anything. Five stars for everything. Oh, and the pizza was pretty damn good too!

  • Nicole H.

We came here for Margherita Monday - actually not a margarita paired with pizza (although that would probably be pretty awesome), but $20 for a bottle of wine (tonight an Argentinian malbec) and a margherita pizza. Two people could probably happily eat that amount on a date night, which averages out to $10/person for pizza and a bottle of wine, which is an awesome price. A group of four of us downed three 14-inch margherita pizzas and two bottles of wine as well as two desserts (chocolate flakes- homemade chocolate with nuts and coconut inside- and donut balls with coconut). This food really hit the spot. I would give the restaurant a 4/5 star rating, except the service was outstanding, hence the 5 star rating. Oh, side note - someone at a different table ordered some form of veggie curry and it smelled amazing. If you're not a pizza fan, try the curry. I have no actual knowledge of how the curry tastes, but it smells delicious. Major thanks to the waiter Bobby for making our night. He's an absolutely outstanding waiter and we'll definitely be requesting to sit in his section whenever we return.

I don't even know where to begin! Food, ambiance, service, atmosphere, everything was above and beyond. We were shopping at the Union and decided to stay there for dinner. Place looked great but since we never tried their food we were not sure what to expect. And then...What an amazing surprise... The food was absolutely amazing. I had tomato basil soup, which was amazing. Then for the main course I ordered Baby Octopus that was served with mashed potatoes, old bay aioli and breadcrumbs. It was out of this world. The portion was really small but you do not want plate of entire octopus on it...just saying. My boyfriend had Mushroom pizza with house made sausage, garlic and thyme. He was as well blown away. I had to have a piece because it looked so good and I didn't want him to eat entire pizza by him self . The crust was awesome. It was tender but yet crispy throughout. It was full of flavors. I had to pick sausages out as I do not eat pork but he said they were the bomb. Drinks were to die for as well. We had Ways&Means (bourbon, sweet vermouth, 2 bitters, maple) and High Tide (gin, orange, lime, mint). They were very different from each other but flavors were amazing on both. Service was just out of this world as well. Our server was really helpful by explaining the Menu, checking on us in timely manner and getting us exactly what we needed when we needed it. This is a kind of a place that I will keep going back to. They have a beautiful fire pit outside, which is perfect to have a drink by on the semi-cold Phoenix nights. Thank you unique but absolutely amazing Forge and crew, we will be coming back for sure!

I stumbled upon the Forge yesterday as I was walking through the mall looking for someplace interesting to eat. The humongous TV with a pre-season football game and the attractive bar area called to me. Ethan the server knew each menu item and beverage they had and recommended the Roasted Shishito Peppers. It was gonna be those or the Spicy Chicken Wings which were also calling. The Shishito Peppers won. A pan of roasted peppers when it is 100 degrees outside sounds miserable but the recommended delicacies were fantastic. They were served with a lemon vinaigretty kind of sauce and you could not eat just one, or two or a half dozen. They weren't spicy but I was warned they occasionally get a zinger. I needed some spice so I ordered some wings as well and was not dissatisfied. The wings were complete with tips and the sauce was perfectly seasoned. Great food, great service and a reasonable price. I will be back.

The union is the walk way to these little cute, hippie trendy shops that leads to the forge pizza. I thought it was a great atmosphere and ambiance. I like the patio as well. I had the Margherita pizza. It was really good. My boyfriend had the hot wings.. He was so disappointed, it was bland and tasteless. :( the ranch wasn't ranch. It was so run down.. he didn't like it. The server was so slow. And it wasn't even busy.

  • Matthew G.

This restaurant has its charm sitting on the patio. I liked the cocktail I ordered from their list and I did enjoy the pizza. It was a little undercooked. Their cooks will get that down though. The menu seemed a little scattered with odd offerings in my opinion from a place that titles itself a pizza restaurant. One in my party ordered the pepperoni pizza and they were out of pepperoni. That should never happen guys. I'll try you out again in about 6-8 weeks. Good luck in the meantime.

We went for lunch with a group. It was not busy so I felt like we had the server for ourselves. She was very attentive but not overbearing. My group was up for sharing, so we go to taste a few different things. Everything was well seasoned and fresh. We started with the Crispy Cheese Curds with the slow simmered tomato sauce. I love cheese so I am biased to say this appetizer was delicious; crispy on the outside and nice and gooey inside. We loved the Brussels sprouts and oven roasted vegetables as well; the curry vinaigrette on the veggies was a delicious touch. I had their soup of the day which was the Cauliflower; it was decadently creamy and served with delicious bread brushed with olive oil. We stuck with the Cauliflower theme and also had the namesake pizza. This pizza was unlike any other pizza I ever had; the pistachio pesto was excellent, paired with the leeks, Gruyere, and fresh arugula, it was like a party in my mouth.

Terrible! Do not waste your time or your money. I'm giving it 2 stars because the server was outstanding and the drinks were fine. But the chicken salad came with deep fried, breaded chicken! Really? In this day and age? They offered to change it, and this time the salad was served with a thin, sorry piece of bland, tasteless chicken thigh! The greens were limp, and unimaginative, with three tiny blobs of feta. For a place that serves pretty much salad, pizza and burgers- this was pathetic. BTW, do not bother with the Brussels sprouts: they are deep fried too! The baby octopus must've been a preemie- that's how tiny the portion size was! Their signature ice cream with olive oil and salt was served in a plastic cup with a plastic spoon, and that was a major disappointment as well. Their location is great, is why they have customers, but their kitchen better get their act together because the Biltmore area is not lacking for decent places to eat!

Burned pizza, tasted like smoke, literally. The worst pizza I have ever had. I took it back and was told it was perfectly cooked. Not to your customer it wasnt. A full refund would have been appropriate. It was charred black on the bottom. Customer service should have prevailed but no go at FORGE. 16.00 for a pizza that was barely edible.

Pizza is yummy -- fresh and not greasy. The beer selection is varied. The decor is welcoming. The staff is really friendly. I tried to come up with a more amusing review, but when a restaurant is fun and the food is tasty, there is nothing much to say except try it!!
