This place is like a time capsule. A classic steak house that hasn't changed in 50 plus years. Great wood and leather furniture with understated decor... that is admittedly getting a little worn. The menu is nothing exciting, just your basic steakhouse stuff. They have various cuts of beef plus shrimp, scallops, and fish options. The steak is served with a baked potato and the seafood with rice and all dishes come with a side of steamed vegetables. You also get a trip to the salad bar included as well. Most of the entrees were in the $25 to $35 range but with so much food I think that is a good deal. Everything is prepared simply but well. On my most recent visit, the first time I have been there since my teen years, I was pleased to discover a modest wine list is available upon request and they do have a pretty good selection of Mexican beers. The service was courteous and professional, though not as attentive as I would have liked... but in fairness it was a busy night. This place is a Nogales institution, so it is worth a visit if you are in the area and want a nice dinner out. The only other upscale dining options (relatively speaking) would be in Tubac or at the Rio Rico golf resort further north on I-19.

Way too expensive and the food isn't good. At all. It smells like they haven't cleaned the place in 50 years and likely that haven't. Sad excuse for a salad bar - especially for the cost of the meal --- it was just lettuce, some sketchy dark watery plastic filled sides (beets, a few unripened tomatoes) I think this plce just gets worst as the years go by. It was dead in there...not surprised why. Do yourself a favor and save the money ms go elsewhere. Not that there are many options in Nogales.

I was really disappointed with the shrimp tacos. They were really dry and there wasn't any kind of sauce to hold it together. We sat in the bar. The whole place had a 50's type feel. The dinner menu was very pricey. Tables in the bar were very wobbly so we moved to another table that was just as bad. Food took a long time to get to the table.

Probably one of the better offerings of this dusty border town. And though it's not that good, I haven't found anything better when my travels take me to Nogales. I've been about three times and will likely return.

My husband and I decided we needed a nice dinner tonight so we thought to try Mr. C's. where there is 4 and half stars. Sad to say we were really disappointed. To start they bring out saltine crackers with butter. Last time I checked we were at a restaurant where most plates are 20.00 or above not the local diner. We received our drinks and didn't get a refill till we were over half way done with our dinner. We even asked for one but didn't receive anything for another 10 min. we saw our food sitting under the red lamp for about 10 min before being brought to our table. Not the chef's fault he was ringing the bell our server was no where to be found. Our meals were delicious. We had the carne asade and the chicken parm. After waiting a good 10 min with no one checking on us we got up and went to the register asking for our bill. We were sadly disappointed. We will not be coming back or referring this place.

Good steak, good fish, good old school restaurant for groups when you're in Nogales. What started as a group of 8 grew to a group of 20. The staff took it in stride. Sure there were times when it took 15 minutes to get water, but who wants water after a 10 hour day in a factory followed by a 1.5 hour wait to get back across the border? The menu is slightly intimidating, since it's essentially a notebook. The list of appetizers alone takes up 3-4 pages. There are a lot of steak and seafood dishes. I opted for the trout, though pretty much everyone else got some kind of steak. Every entree came with a trip to the salad bar. The salad bar was nothing special - chopped romaine, canned chickpeas, sunflower seeds, canned beats, processed salad dressings in beige plastic containers with beige plastic ladles. While we ate our salads, we could see the chefs in the kitchen, which when you consider how old the building seems, is something that not a lot of places had at the time. The chefs were really working it. And they even rang the bell when the orders were up. The staff did a decent job of getting the food out when it was still hot and to all the right people. The trout was a little more done than I would have liked, but the flavor was still good. Everyone raved about his or her steak, but then added that it was a little too salty. And even though the prices seemed a little high on the menu, the whole thing was very affordable at the end of the night. It's a solid Nogales favorite, and one I'm sure that we'll be back to in the future, based on all the smiling faces when we left.

This steakhouse reminds me of a scene from the movie casino. The decor was retro. The views were great and the service was good. I like this place for the atmosphere. And the food is decent.

I have been going to Mr. C's for over 25 years. I will be honest and say it is better than ever. I recommend ordering a botana. You will not find a better steak in Southern Arizona. The seafood is always fresh. Its a great atmosphere for any occasion.

My favorite is Shrimp Fettucini Alfredo with the Parmesan bread... It's perfect! And the salad bar that comes with every meal is great too.

in town for business with coworkers, and stumbled upon Mr C's...seems like a solid Nogales staple, full of friendly people, with good service, tasty food, at a fair price...tough to beat the value when in Nogales!
