This is a diamond... located where you may never find it if you didn't know it was there. A funky eclectic bar and restaurant. An open outdoor seating with furnishings that don't match. The most relaxing, home town friendly place. There are 2 pool tables. We were there on Wednesday Pizza and wing night. The wings and pizza are amazing. Someone else in our party had the enchiladas and said they were some of the best ever. The fish tacos are authentic and great. Soup was homemade. It was evident that this is a "local" hangout" which to me just adds to the charm. The owner came to our table and said hello. We got our drinks fairly timely but it took 30+ mins. for our food to arrive...but we knew coming here that this would happen and this is not a issue for us as we like the whole dining visiting experience. Our waitress was great and let us know that it would be a bit of a wait for our food...This is a great leisurely place, we were not in a hurry and it was evident that neither were the rest of the customers. We were told there is a live band in the patio every Friday night, there are fire pits all over the outside that are lit at night. We will definitely be back. They have 12 beers on tap and too many different bottled beers to list. We love this place, it will be our new go to spot. It is a class act of a dive bar with just the right amount of funk!!! If you like relaxing and no pretention then this is the place for you...oh take the time to take a tour of the "boneyard" where there are some old airstreams and other great pieces to look at...

Nothing special about this place. The food was acceptable, nothing more. The service was slow..friendly but slow. The patio looks like a place old furniture goes to die. And it's in the middle of NO WHERE. It's for a specific type of crowd for sure.

Really love this place, awesome decor and the owner was really friendly. Only tried the burger and fries but my dad said the wings were also great.

The Decor is awesome to ride your Harley's as a destination ! The burger and chicken sandwich was great ! More crispy fries please! Server seemed relatively new. Would definitely come back! Relaxing atmosphere and fun place to come!

A pretty cool place indeed! It is family friendly. And it's a family. What you get when you arrive is always changing. Sometimes when it is slow the owners and staff will slide right down next to you and chat you up. When it's busy things can get backed up and service suffers. They've been working on this issue though so it is getting better. The enchiladas and pizza are exceptional!! Worth every second of the scenic drive to get there. There is indoor and outdoor seating. A great place to stop if you are traveling with your furry friends. There are pool tables. And two pool leagues play out of raceway. If you are a pool player and want to get to know some people the leagues are a great place to start. They play Monday and Wednesday nights. All in all raceway is a great place to be. Go when you are not pressed for time.

I like that, even with their slightly limited taps, they still manage to have a better craft beer selection than almost any other place in Maricopa. Havent really had the food much, and sure it can feel like you're not really one of the regulars, but what a cool location and a nice way to feel like you're really out of the city.

Typical bar food, not very impressive. Husband had wings, they were average, I had shrimp basket, basic frozen fried shrimp with fries/coleslaw. Not sure what is in the coleslaw that makes it spicy or why you would want spicy coleslaw, however if you do this is the place for it. Also kind of expensive for a few fried shrimp. Also the kitchen closes at 9:00 not 10:00 as the website leads you to believe. They would not serve a party of 4 who came in at 8:58, (though I understand ) even though the party went by the website times. Will not go out of my way to eat here again.

I read good and bad about raceway, to my surprise this place has great food. Tried the bacon poppers and they are to die for. Really good pizza and raceway's draft is also very good, our waitress was great and service was very fast . I have no complaints.

It's an AWSOME small town bar. Check out the old cars that come, some time even a horse tied up. Nice outside patio. Just real laid back come have a beer and check out all the vintage stuff inside. Even get in on a raffle that might be going on. They have there own beer brewed it's on tap, just ask for a raceway!! That's what I do. See ya ;o)

Had a dinner here while in town. The pizza was really good but nothing else really moved me here. Might have to try this place again, maybe during the day. And maybe when there's more time to hang out at the bar. Right now all I can rate is 3 stars but there is room for improvement.

Do not pass this place by! The food is great, the people are awesome. What a wonderful find. The wings are to die for, the poppers are hand made, everything that came out of that kitchen looked and smelled yummy.

Food is nothing to brag about, in fact it is over priced. I have been in there a couple of times and always feel like we are a bother to the staff, as if we don't belong.

We returned back a few months later and saw signs "Please wait to be seated." It must have done the trick because we were attended to and had great service! As always great food too :)

Excellent place for food, entertainment, and big hearts. They hosted the "Rock for Williams Syndrome" fundraiser event on April 26, 2014 to raise awareness for Williams Syndrome which my son was diagnosed with as an infant. He is now 15 and when we walked in we were welcomed with open arms by the staff and the other patrons. My son was catered to by the wonderful waitstaff and they even danced with him, the bands that donated there time were friendly, and the food was excellent! My son and I had so much fun. What an experience. He was even interviewed for the newspaper. I would definitely make the 1 hour drive again because it so worth it!! I recommend this place for sure along with the pizza and the bacon wrapped shrimp jalapeno poppers. Reasonably priced and yummy!

My wife and I wanted to find a restaurant in Maricopa that's not Mexican or pizza and that served home cooked meals and family environment for our twin girls. We found it Raceway! I had country fried steak....so good. My wife had fried shrimp basket which she enjoyed. Server was very friendly and the owner Ginnie very welcoming. Great rustic 50's decor. Failed to mention home made desserts. If you live in Maricopa and tired of the same ol' places then try Raceway, they will not disappoint. Awesome food, service, ownership and environment.

Always liked this place. Outdoor pool tables, need I say more? Service is always spot on. Pours on bourbon always generous. Owners seem to be around a lot, lots of cool stories from Chicago. Food, meh... Not terrible, not great, but also not why I've frequented this place over the years. A welcome change from chain restaurants and faux neighborhood bars.

Awesome service and awesome food! I live in maricopa but this place is out of the way when it comes to restaurants or bars but it's always worth the extra miles to go to. Last time I went here it was the afternoon after dove huntin' opened and they had us sample some fresh hunted dove jalapeño poppers... Freakin delicious! Add some summer shandy and you is in heaven:) things like that keep me comin back and bringing friends to this place from out of town. 6 stars easy! Cheers Tanner

We came here for dinner in hopes that this place would end up being a bar we could go to on a regular basis. We generally have to drive out to Chandler or Ahwatukee to get anything decent; Maricopa isn't exactly booming with great places to eat or shop. When we walked in I liked the atmosphere of the bar; all the things hanging on the walls and from the ceiling was fun. It was pretty busy and it took a few minutes for someone to find us a table. Once sat our server introduced herself and took our drink order. She came back and we ordered some chips and salsa to start. We got our appetizer. The chips and pico de gillo was great but the other salsa tasted off...it had a metallic taste. We were waiting for our server to come back to take our entree order but she was running around to other tables. We waited, and waited...and waited. 25 minutes later another server saw our menus still on the table when she went to grab them l I told her we'd been waiting quite a while to order. She took our order; I asked for the fish and chips and my boyfriend ordered the meatball sub. Now we waited and waited...and waited again. The woman who took our entree order brought us more chips and salsa on the house for the delay. Finally after another 25 minutes we got our food. We were trying to stay positive thinking maybe all this waiting will be worth it. It really wasn't. My fish and chips seriously looked like those fish sticks you got as a kid. They looked very unappetizing and the portion did not match the price. Also the breading on them was falling off and was moist instead of crispy. I couldn't believe I was paying near $13 for 5 little fish sticks and some under seasoned, frozen, crinkle cut fries. This meal should really be priced around $8...$9 at the most. My boyfriend's meatball sub was also on the smaller side as well but he did say it was tasty, however they really jipped him on fries. Our original server came back, apologized, and refilled our drinks. The whole evening was kind of blah. I could honestly overlook all the waiting but what I can't overlook are the prices you pay for the food you get. It's truly not worth it. I'd rather make the drive out to Chandler or Ahwatukee and get better food and better service. We're not sure if we'd be back. Who pays $33 for cheap fish sticks and fries and a small meatball sub!? We could have gone to Outback Steakhouse and gotten delicious prime rib for that price.

The food was pretty good pub style grub. The service is friendly. It is funny I have only been there twice and both times in a small group. Both times they forgot only my order and everyone else was done eating when I got my food, what are the odds. Maybe I'm a sport but, I just can't trash a rating over a mistake. Too many Yelpers pan a joint because the waitress stepped on their foot...

We love Raceway Bar and Grill. My fiancé and I found this bar about four years ago when we were living in Maricopa. It's approximately two miles south of Harrah's and a mile west on Papago Road. You can drive your car, your motorcycle or even ride your horse to this grill. It's a very eclectic place with old signs and memorabilia all over you can even find an old phone booth. Great place to have a few beers (if you're not driving) watch a game or NASCAR, play some pool or listen to some music. The food is typical bar fare but good. We particularly enjoy the fish tacos and the Candied Pecan & Craisin Harvest Salad of course the pizza and burgers are also excellent. Next time you want something to eat and you are in Maricopa stop by you won't be disappointed and you will have fun too.

We drove 11 miles from our home in Maricopa to try out Raceway Bar & Grill. The atmosphere was fun, country, down-home, and comfortable. We enjoyed all the antique signs and the personal touches, right down to the old chairs that had seen better days. The food was just OK - we paid $11.99 each for fish 'n chips, and substituted onion rings for the fries ($1 upcharge) and skipped the jalapeno coleslaw. We paid about $2.50 for a refillable Diet Coke, which tasted odd, like the water had come out of an unfiltered well. The fish was fine - several long, squarish strips of white fish (cod?) that was tender and breaded just right. The onion rings were overdone, and it was hard to find the strip of onion under the heavy, hard breading. I wouldn't order them again. Bottom line: the place was interesting, the service was GREAT, and we may go back to try the burgers and fries. Just not the onion rings, which is a shame, cuz we'd drive quite a ways for really good rings. We would like to support a locally owned business!

Love this place, order the Mexican food of the pizza! If it was closer I'd give it 5.

This is a down to earth type place to eat. Ambiance is at a minimum. Local customers look a little rough. The food is good but not exceptional. They offer a decent variety but should stick to a smaller better menu. The item you want is a meatball sub. I caution you to always call ahead. This three meat special runs out daily. You will be disappointed if you don't.

Using a restaurant.com certificate we tried out the Raceway Bar & Grill for lunch and were definitely pleased and are looking forward to our next visit! Ambience/décor. - Great music played on a decent sound system combined with an eclectic mixture of antiques, old license plates etc. couple of pool tables in the back, and outside dining, all make for a fun, hospitable vibe! Service. - We're guessing our young waitress the late shift the night before because she was seemed to be dragging and lacked any enthusiasm. While friendly, once we got our food she never saw her again until it was time to pay. Food. - The better-half's chicken tenders ($7) were OK, to me they seemed over-breaded and I'm guessing they were frozen. The accompanying fries were very good! - My Philly Cheese Steak ($9) was excellent! A fresh roll contained thinly sliced strip steak with peppers, onions, mushrooms, and melted mozzarella - absolutely delicious. I substituted the fries for a garden salad with balsamic vinaigrette which was good, but nothing remarkable. Beverages. - We tried their two dark draft beers, and both were very good. We thought it odd that they don't have a beer menu as their website advertises over a dozen beers on tap. Location. - About ten minutes from Maricopa it is a very easy drive, and easy to find. My only wish is that they would move to Maricopa!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate.
