First I have to say that my husband has been very ill from the breakfast burritos. I also got my share of bad burritos when I was pregnant and that was not gun. Back in 2012 they must have had a cook who was not doing some things right in the kitchen. That didn't stop my hubby from going there and after years of watching him enjoy their breakfast burritos, even I joined him again in this crazy obsession that he has with their breakfast burritos even our baby loves them too. Things have improved as far as cleanliness, we have not had any health issues for a couple of years now. What kept us coming back even after those terrible experiences??? The breakfast burritos are amazing, now they even come with a side of lime and roasted serranos or jalapeños.

Reliable and fast Mexican food but the prices are high for what you get in my opinion. Back in the day when they sold breakfast burritos for three bucks, now that was nice. I would recommend: Carne Asada burrito or chimi Shredded beef tacos Super nachos I would not order beans or rice - not very good.

There are plenty of Mexican eateries out there, but this is my favorite. Okay, maybe not my 1 and only, but I would eat here 1 meal a day if I could (but I can't, because what I order and add to my food is horribly unhealthy...) Last year, I would grab 1 of their MASSIVE breakfast burritos every couple of months on my way to work, and those days were definitely my most memorable days working at that office job. For starters, I remember the amazing flavors that these days brought me. Egg, steak, chorizo, cheese, bacon, potato, salsa, bea... wait... let me stop right there. Salsa. Yes, the ultimate burrito, taco and pretty much anything else condiment. I LOVE salsa. I love Taco Bell sauce packets, I love Tapatío and I love Nico's green & red salsa cups. Do I love them too much? Yes. Yes I do, because what I remember most about these days at work when I would pick up a massive breakfast burrito was the burning lunch hour... It's not Nico's fault, trust me. Their food is amazing, and their salsa, well... I am proud to say it's still my favorite. However, please, when you decide to add 12+ cups of their delectable devil spit to your meal, think twice. think 2 times. 2 times... number 2..... the "flavor" is alot less enjoyable coming out than when it went it. With all that said, my only regret is that I moved from Tucson. Otherwise you know where I would be! (at Nico's, not the bathroom you freak.)

This stop-by place to-and-from Tucson had one of the very best steak quesadillas I've ever had. On top of that, they have choices and variations from your typical steak quesadilla and a variety of meats in general. It will be hard to pass by this place on work trips without grabbing a bite.

Love this place; good food and fast service. Just make sure you bring cash, because I think they don't accept cards on Sunday. There is an ATM nearby though.

On my drive out of town, I ordered a breakfast burrito. Huge burrito that I couldn't finish, and not because of the taste, but the size. But in all, really, it's standard food fare. Lest you are a local or a cross-country driver passing through with little interest stopping in Tucson or Phoenix, I am not sure why else you would go out of your way to make a pit stop. But nice, quick and attentive service. The restaurant has a decent-sized seating area -- about the same size as your typical fast food restaurant. It was not at all busy. But there is a sign posted: If you are in the drive through and want to get your order started, you can call 520-665-0100.

The people are always attentive and polite, the food is tasty and they dont skimp on anything. Its small inside and they are always busy when we go there. Not sure if its worth driving from Tucson to Marana for, but definitly worth it to stop if your in the area and want mexican food.

Very good breakfast. The burrito is very large, and for only $5, it beats going to a fast food restaurant. We stopped in while passing through town and are glad we did.

When my husband and I were visiting Arizona we yelped restaurants nearby us and nico's came up. The place is not fancy but we enjoyed our lunch. We had asada nachos that were fantastic, bean tostada and an asada burrito. All were very tasty. Burrito was smaller than what I expected but good. The tostada was basic but good and the nachos were the best! Pretty big and very filling. They have some green sauce that I liked a lot and it added a little something to my food. I would go back.

Lets just say I wouldn't drive all the way across town for it. The service is always great - in and out within 5 mins or less. I always get the California burrito(Favorite) - It's loaded with carne asada, cheese, Guacamole and French fries or potatoes all rolled into a flour tortilla. Sour cream may be substituted for guacamole, though this not a true Cali burrito, just an imposter. Diffidently not a sit down - date night type of place. More like a quick stop - eat - drink and back on the road.

We live very close to Nicos and we love it! It is a special treat and an easy stop on the way home. We usually grab and go but have stayed to eat a couple of times. Affordable and delicious. The homemade salsas are also a treat.

I used to frequent this place all the time, but stopped going, tonight I realized why. The place is filthy. There are dead flies in the silverware, & the tables are dirty. The thing that sent it over the edge, was the service. The girl who was waiting on everyone, constantly rolled her eyes at everyone. She was extremely rude to a kid whose money was lost in a coin machine. Her reply was, "those aren't our machines, it's not our problem." As I went to retrieve my order, I asked for a bunch of salsa, I purchased two meals, & we like things spicy. She handed me 3 salsas. I asked her for more she told me she wasn't able to give anymore as it was a new policy. My sisters had gone the week before & gotten a ton on salsa, so I asked her when this was implemented, or how much it would cost to get more. Her reply was "I'm just not giving you anymore" it took more persuasion & I was blessed with 3 more salsas & endless amounts of eye rolls (oh joy...not). I then said to her, "you know this is horrible customer service, I will not be returning again." She then put her hands up & said, "I don't care!" I replied, "well I'm sure other people will care, & I'll be sure to tell everyone what a rude person you are." She said she didn't care. So here you are yelp, I hope you care.

I'm stuck in Marana, Arizona....and I need a Mexican food fix!! So, since I can't get a burrito through an IV tube, I thought that stopping at Nico's was the next best thing. Yup. I'm feeling much better. This place is a jewel in an otherwise wild west. I've had the burrito, chimichanga and their fish tacos. (see my photos attached). Have no fear, Nico is here. Thanks.... Now...where can I get a beer???

My best friend lives very close to Nico's and suggested it for dinner one night. She felt like she needed to add a little disclaimer for the restaurant before we arrived. She said it's in an old gas station and wasn't the cleanest but the food was wonderful. She was right on first glance it was a little dive-ish ! I ordered the cheese enchiladas and they tasted like they had been cooked in God's own kitchen ! I don't even live in the same state as Nico's and I crave them constantly !! If you're in the area, you MUST it to stop in here and order some true Mexican food ! The minute I get back to Arizona, I'll be stopping in a Nico's for sure !!

Kinda hidden behind the circle K and a small bank. I lived within miles of it for months and never knew it. Once you find this quaint lil place you wont forget it. Food is always fresh and looks to be cooked to order. If youre hungry try the Marana Burrito. Absolutely deelish. Quite huge too. It's definately a hearty one. Service wise, the young ladies who work the drive thru window are usually sweet. Theres one whos not. Youll know her when you see her. She just looks angry. And comes across that way as well. Never dined inside. Its quite small. Drive thru only for me. All in all I will be back. Regularly. You should too if youre ever north of tucson. Yum-city.

The perfect roadside taco joint to stop at on your way back to Phoenix from Saguaro National Park. I'm not saying this is gourmet Mexican cuisine at its finest, but it certainly hits the spot when you've got a spot that needs hitting... with TACOS. Cheap, friendly, fast, and filling--this is the sort of place you're looking for when you don't even know you're looking for it. Because who doesn't basically always want tacos when on a 2 hour plus road trip?

Getting off work and rushing back to the rv park, Sometimes I stop in and order a combination plate to go. It's always excellent and they are helpful in selecting the chili or salsa.. You don't have to wait too long. and it's open early for breakfast to go.

Rolled in our ambulance at 10:05 after looking up mexican places along i10 on yelp. We were starving after our patient transfer from Prescott to Tuscon. Paramedic ordered carnitas, I ordered carne asada torta. Both were more than excellent. Have not had a torta like that in awhile. Perfect meat to guacamole to salsa ratio. Partners carnitas were flavorful and slightly crispy on the outside. Owner was super friendly. Excellent find. We decided that every transfer to Tuscon, we will be back. Yum

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
