I love all these autism awareness quotes n all but I believe true awareness happens when our autistic population is out in the community... Will we have the patients to take our time... Let them process theirs thoughts correct errors that they are unaware that they are making and make them feel truly proud of the accomplishments that they have just accomplished Last Sunday it took junnie 30 minutes and 7 different try's to get 1 take out order for his brother from Freddy's..... The staff were amazing ... Please be aware that we are out there and true humility and patients is necessary to help our children thrive... The food was amazing just as much as the experience!!

First off- amazing milkshakes!!! The smore milkshake is to die for. Large chunks of gram crackers, marshmallow fluff and chocolate, super filling and not just artificially smore flavored, its the real deal! More expensive than fatty-donalds but so worth it. It doesn't taste like your eating the ear of the cow that fatty-donalds passes off as meat, it tastes like a real beef patty! The toppings taste fresh and the bun isn't just a slice of cheap wonder bread. Definitely my favorite burger joint to do fast food at! If you order the fries, ask for the fry sauce. So much better than ketchup. Obviously not very healthy but hey, if your going here it probably isn't because of the great health benefits they offer! Only downside, your dealing with employees at an entry level job that pays very little so dont expect the most high class service. Most are in high school or college and ( I dont blame them) probably don't want to be there. I however have never had rude service and everything is always up fast and given with a smile! If your looking for cheap great food with some great Ice cream for dessert then go to Freddy's!

To start off, I'm a huge fan of Freddie's. They're the only fast-food chain with a legitimate veggie burger and their fries are the perfect blend of crispy and fluffy (which is unbelievable in a shoestring fry!) This location isn't as friendly or as customer service oriented as the location at Broadway and Kolb. The woman who rang up our order was flummoxed by our request to substitute a veggie patty on the patty melt whereas the East side location has that as a quick single button... The food was still awesome (especially the fries and the brownie sundae!) and perhaps we just had an under-trained cashier, but all in all, Freddie's is my go to for a black bean burger on the go...but from now on, I'll take my food to go from this location.

My first frozen custard ever! What?!?! And it was excellent! Sweet but a little tangy, cold but not crazy frozen solid. Delicious toppings AND a spoon- what's not to love? Side note before we get too engrossed- Dear Freddy's corporate: Can you build a store in Seattle or Bellevue Washington next please? Your custard creations are marvelous! We walked in for an after a night out at the movies with the family late night treat. At 9pm, the place was not crowded and there was almost no line. The cashier greeted us warmly and offered suggestions and explanations such as "What is concrete?" I decided on a Hawaiian Sundae with less coconut shavings in favor of extra fruit. No problem! They handled the substitute easily and it turned out great! Exactly what I wanted! Other members of our party seemed equally pleased with their turtle concrete and chocolate chocolate sundae concoctions. We enjoyed looking around the restaurant nostalgia and seeing the old black and white pictures of "Freddy" growing up and his old family farm in Kansas! My favorite grandfather was called "Freddie" when he was young and growing up in Kansas- so the pictures and stories reminded me a lot of him. Maybe that's what made me love this place even more. Friendly, welcoming and familiar. It's going to take a lot of will power for me not to run back over to Freddy's for breakfast tomorrow!

If you crave fries, this is the place. Absolutely love their double burgers. So much flavor!!! But even better are the best fries in Tucson area. Nobody is better. Eegee is close, but these have the most flavor, crunch and potato taste. Hunker down when you want a bunch. Hope they build more. I live in Pinal County and when in town head here. Love, Love, Love!

The dogs and steakburgers are delicious! My wife love the french fries and the custard - has allergies to nuts so they are very helpful and substitute crunchy coconut topping, She loved it! It's now her favorite!

Love their fries and ice cream! They have a wide variety of topping combinations. I also love their iced tea.

When Freddy's opened I couldn't get enough. I think I went once or twice a week the months after it opened. They serve match stick fries, chicken burgers, melts, hamburgers and hotdogs. My favorite is the Freddy's Frozen Custard! I can't get enough, it's addicting for me. I see the monthly special flavors and just love every one. I especially love when they blend in the toppings to make a concrete, and this I will go through their drive through to get. The are thick and AS GOOD AS it gets. I would give this place a 5 out of 5 in the dessert category. However, the food is OK. It's fresh and hot. I just don't care for their style of burger nor their match stick fries; so the thought of eating of meal there, would for me, just be a means to an end to get dessert. I will profess I'm a picky fry person. A huge plus at Freddy's are it's staff. They are always friendly and polite, the space is open and good for people with mobility issues. Also the location is clean and there is plenty of parking. So it's got a lot going for it.

The steak burgers are so good here and so is the frozen custard. The frozen custard here is way better than the competitors. The fries are small, skinny fries and they have a fry sauce that pairs well with it. The staff is always helpful and friendly and the prices aren't too bad. Try it, so much good stuff.

I love the fries with their special sauce! Been here a couple of times before, and I enjoy it a lot! Definitely worth coming back over and over again. As you step into the restaurant, you get the old 50's diner feel. The music compliments that. The service was great, & we got our food pretty quick. I ordered the hatch green chile steakburger combo which comes with their AMAZING fries and a drink. The burger was awesome. Not too big, and very flavorful. I'd say this green chile burger may just be equal to that of the one from whataburger minus the size. Lol. You can never go wrong with Freddy's fries. They are cut thin, and seasoned with a cajun spice and they also have a special "Freddy's sauce" that is a must to have with. I can't get enough! Freddy's also has awesome custard desserts. We tried the Smores concrete sundae and a chocolate custard cone. The small size was filling enough for me and the cone was pretty good size too! They sell the seasoning that is put on their yummy fries for $3.99 if you want to take it home and sprinkle that yummy goodness on your own homemade fries too! Oh, and I also noticed that they have custard cakes for sale too! Wow. May have to try one on the next special occasion...

Food: 3.5 maybe 4 stars. Customer service: 5 stars. Our order arrived a bit screwed up. Nate, who I believe was the manager, stepped up to correct & promptly deliver the food per initial order. He then went above & beyond the usual in presenting us w/coupon for free meal on rtn. visit. .Freddy's has kind of an "old timey" atmosphere. Most importantly, it seems the place still believes in "old timey" service! Thanks Nate, we'll be back very soon!

This place is so over rated. Took a friends including myself 4 plus child. Tab was 36+ which isn't a lot but puts it up there with Five Guys, In and Out, and Cluvers. I would say from what I had and everyone else's option this place was below all three. The hard part is the meat is near flavorless compared to the other 3. If your going to make patties thinner then In and Out you need to be packing some serious flavor. Fries are good the theme seems to be everything is fried which I love in a burger joint. Fries are up there with In and Out and Five guys though without the burgers being as good there rating with me has suffered. This is a place I wouldn't drag my feet going back to however is never a place is being up as a suggestion to go. Also there were a ton of flys everywhere inside. I am not sure what can be done with so many outside but have gone to other places for food that didn't have that problem.

Freddy's has the best fast-food style burgers I've ever had. Great toppings choices and fresh meat. Their fries are delicious with their "fry" sauce. Their custard is just as good as their food. It's rich and creamy, and did I mention how delicious it is.

Can't get enough of those shoe string fries!!!

This location is very clean! They wear gloves when handling your ice cream... I think if you are looking for desert then I give 5 stars... It is really good...the burgers to me are 3-4 stars.. Not bad... Just not over the top warranting 5 stars... The employees are very courteous and polite...they have really big booths!!! I think a family of 8 could fit!!! Love the elbow room!

    (4)
  • Richard C.

We love this place and keep coming back. The burgers are like Smashburgers. I recommend getting the double, their #1 menu choice, because the patties are very thin. The fries are super skinny and we love them. The booths are huge and can seat 6 or 8 people. They have a drive thru but we always eat inside. They also have outdoor seating like In N Out. The more specialty burger places we get the happier I am. I hardly ever go the traditional fast food places that have been around for decades. Oh yes, you can order "concrete" for dessert but why spoil the surprise here, try the adventure for yourself... please.

  • Felicione B.

I liked it at firat you look at the fries and your likkw what the heck they look so small but the burger i got was really good ans it was a decent size too for fast food the atmosphere is pretty neat too its like your back in the 50s plus customer service was good too

  • Fed C.

All I gotta say is...Shoe string fries...ono! (the burgers are great too (on the same level as In and Out - with their own unique (flat) spin on burgers)

I never been to a Freddy's. Im from Florida and there are none in that State. I was visiting my Aunt and Uncle and my Uncle raved about this place. He did not disappoint in his review. I was addicted to their California Burger and want more....so much more. They better expand to the Southeast soon, because I will be craving Freddys for a very long time. 5 stars.

  • Stephiee L.

Never fails me. Custard is simply the best in a fast good restaurant! Chili cheese fries are delicious and one order is a pretty big portion

    (4)
  • Rocky C.

the food is good and the fries are the shoe string skinny fries and they have hot sauce and season salt. Their drink just taste better than most places. Simple and tasty with large booths. Deserts are a bit limited but they usually have a season dessert.

Quick review while on the run, but need to give this place 5 stars based on service alone!

  • Cherie D.

A few things I like at this place is the friendly service, atmosphere is family friendly and the food is pretty good for a quick bite after church with the family. I have never ordered a burger from here so I can't comment on those but I have ordered the chili cheese fries and their own version of the Chicago dog. It's not your typical dog but it does come with a vienna hot dog and all the usual trimmings. The only difference is the bun, they use a completely different bun and they toast it. I like it a lot. Not as much as the real thing but I like it. Kids love the huge amount of chili cheese fries they get. One order serves the whole family.

Gary (husband and part of our dynamic eating trio--mom was out and about elsewhere) and I turned up there (you never know where we'll go next!) recently on a weekday night. It was surprisingly busy, as in nearly-all-seats-were-taken kind of busy! We went in cold, having no prior experience with Freddy's or their menu. We found the menu a bit confusing. What was the difference between a steakburger or a double burger, etc.? We needed some descriptions, but all we had to go on was a menu above our heads on the wall. The cashier was a friendly young lady who did her best to answer a bunch of questions. But we didn't want to hold up the line so we dove in and ordered a burger and a double steakburger combo. The lines moved very quickly. We did manage to nab a table (yahoo!). Gary's double steakburger came with a huge basket full of skinny and delicious fries, plus a drink. I did the a la carte burger. Glad I did so, as there were plenty of fries for two of us! The burger tasted delicious, and I can guess that those burgers are the reason people return here. TIP: the burgers are skinny, so go for the double burger so you get a healthy mouthful with each bite! We noticed the soda dispenser was well used, and that there was a strange pile of ice in the drainage area (like a mountain of ice). We must've come at a high usage time. I would've loved to have tried the custard dessert, but given our luxurious, audacious quantity of fries, we opted out of any dessert for our own well being! Next time--and we will go again. It was fun and friendly, even though quite the busy place! By the time we left, the lines were to the door (but as I said earlier, moving fast).

Great burgers. They have a large variety of hot dogs and different style burgers such as a chilli burger, california burger with lettuce and tomatoes, pizza burger with pepporoni and pizza sauce.

    (4)
  • Thomas M.

Best fast food in town. That's my summary of it. The burgers here are thin (get a double) but they have that crispy flat top crust on them. I usually go for the California style. I add extra fry sauce to my burger once I get it. Also, the burger seasoning? Sprinkle It all over your burger and fries... Delicious! The fries themselves are shoe string style, always super crispy. Also, they give you a mountain of them with each order. Hotdogs here are great too. All beef Vienna dogs on a toasted bun. Great with mustard and sauerkraut.

Today headed out to Freddy's with a group of friends. I had the Green Chili Double Burger Combo. The patties are pounded thin so the staff recommends that you get a double instead of the single. I agree with the other yelpers and the Freddy staff, the single would probably not have been enough. The green chili burger was not on the menu. It was one of their specials the were advertising on the window. It was a pretty tasty burger, but it was still basically a greasy burger. The fries are the thin kind that I like. The french fry sauce is very interesting. It was better than just ketchup. Overall this was an acceptable experience. When all comes down to it, this just a greasy burger joint. Worth checking out if that is what you are looking for.

Every time I ask my husband what he wants for dinner, the answer is Freddy's. Actually, he says "You know, that place with the burgers". Yep, I know the place... The burgers actually are really good! Juicy and crunchy in the same bite, stuffed with toppings, and served along side crispy thin fries. I'm not about to try the custard, because then we would eat here every night. Always fast, friendly service in a retro-inspired atmosphere. Hmm, what's for dinner tonight...

  • Shayla R.

Hands down best burger ever! I've had so many gourmet burgers and been almost every place for burgers but Freddy's is the best! Their show string fries are delicious too, especially with the fry sauce. I strongly encourage you to but Freddy's special seasoning I put it on everything! And to top everything off the frozen custard is the perfect dessert to go along with your meal or after.

I grew up in Rochester, New York. Home to several local mom & pop "charbroil & custard" restaurants with extensive cult followings. I dream about those burgers even though I've lived in Tucson for 11 years. And then...my husband comes home and says..."Let's go to dinner at this new place that has charbroiled hamburgers and custard." "WHAAAAT?" I replied, grabbing my coat and keys before I'd even pronounced the 't'. We walk in to Freddy's. It's super cute, diner, retro kinda feel. The menu looks great. lots of options. I order the double w/cheese, french fries. You get a number and then find a table which wasn't a problem even though they were super busy. They called our number, I approached the counter. I see two thin, crisp-edged burger patties and a basket of thin, crispy, fries that were overflowing. I gasped. I sighed. I retreated to my table to manja! Though, first, I discovered their Freddy's Fry Sauce. Which basically tastes like ketchup & mayo mixed together with a little bit of a kick. YUM! The burger. SPOT. ON. I love that they're smushed thin and have these crispy bits around the edges. Super tasty. And the fries... O_O. So dang good. I'm not a french fry person. Really. But these were pure gorgeousness in a paper basket. Light, crispy, well seasoned, and super delicious. We ended our meal by going back for a small dish of the custard. I am a tough custard customer (say THAT 10 times fast). But it was delicious. Truly. All-in-all..I was ecstatic to find something that comes even remotely close to the fare of my hometown. I will definitely be back. Definitely.

NOM NOM NOM, That is all I can say about this place the burgers are unique, the meat tasty, and the shoestring fries are amazing. I do feel like I have to grab 2 or 3 to make a full bite of fry but man are those things good. I had the California Freddy and it was tasty the cheese melted in perfectly, and the sauce rounded it out. I didn't get to try the custard but I will definitely be back the next time I am on that side of town.

  • White R.

This place is great! I love their burgers and fries, the service is always friendly, and their custard is yummy! It's not quite a '50s diner atmosphere, but the music and some of the decor will take you back. I'll definitely come back here when I'm in the area.

    (5)
  • Jennifer D.

SO far all I have had there was the custard! It's really good sweet creamy and delicious! It's a great treat to have one these HOT days! I treated a friend to one since she was having a bad day, and it made her smile!

Getting some printing done at Staples and had to wait so we went to Freddie's for supper. I had a Patty Melt combo. Quick service and very tasty. I really like the shoestring fries and no old geezers sampled them this time. We did pick a booth out of the traffic pattern. A nice addition to the plentiful burger options in Tucson.

Holy hell this place just blew my mind..I don't do fast food often if ever but I had a guilty craving. I have never had anything so good for the price..fires are to literally die for I ordered the double burger with bacon and nearly cried. I would have anybody eat fast food on a regular basis if ever but if you do..go big or go home . New favorite burger in town. Thanks for the experience.

Their burgers are this delicious lattice of meat, made thin and yummy. The burgers are awesome, not too much meat, cooked perfect. I love their fries, crispy and crunchy and thin. Everything was great, it was fairly clean and hit the spot.

WOW! I really wanted to like this place!! Here are the experiences I have had. #1-- I went there with my daughter to try their custard. We got the chocolate with some toppings. I paid with my credit card. I was waiting at a table when the manager asked me to come to the counter. I came up to him and he said that they voided my card out by accident and that they were really sorry. To solve the problem they were just going to give me my custard for free. #2-- I went through the drive thru to get my order this time. A kids hot dog meal and a bacon burger meal. Okay so first I sat in the drive thru for seriously 20 minutes (promise! I timed it) before someone finally asked me, "What did you order?" I laughed and told them. He was 1 of 6 people working on this "problem" they seemed to be having. He finally came back to the window and said "I am sorry is was shift change and things were messed up a but, we have your order and we are giving it to you at no charge". At first I was like alrighty I should get it after this wait!!! I got home and tasted everything, the fries were like crispy leather, the burger was burned and the hot dog was also burned. Now I am not complaining because I got it free but.... Here is my final take. The service is nice but they have no idea what they are doing! The food was kind of yucky, especially the fries. They are a more expensive with less taste Culvers. The only thing giving them the 2 stars was that I got everything for free and I did like the custard.

Enjoy the food at Freddy's very much, one of the few places in Tucson who use sports peppers as one of their condiments for the burger or the Chicago dog. The burger itself was very good, cooked well enough to make the edges crispy and with the shoestring fries it makes a fine lunch. I'm not a fan of the custard, I think there are much better places to go to for your ice cream needs. All in all I think Freddy's is a welcome addition to the Marana community.

  • Kristy N.

One word sums it up. YUM! I love thin crispy french fries and these fries did not disappoint. The fry sauce is a nice change from ketchup or my preference of BBQ sauce for my fries. The custard was delish. The burgers were good, strange, but good. The meat is very thin and looks to be pattied by hand. I liked the burger but thought the way it looked was strange. The staff were friendly and someone stopped by our table to make sure everything was good.

  • Andrew L.

Not impressed. The drive thru experience was difficult. I had to repeat the order numerous times. I felt it was overpriced. 2 burgers and a order of fries for over 13 dollars. The burger was not nearly as good as its competitors, however the fries were ok. My curiosity is over. I will not be back.

Went here for lunch today and the burger was great as always. My favorite place for a good crispy burger. Fries with their house sauce and some onion rings and you cant go wrong. I get the original and add sauerkraut to it. mmmmmm

Very Good Steakburger !!! Fries are really good as well !!! They have frozen custard which is also very good. Better than most Fast Food Restraunts. I have eaten here twice and service was good and food was good ! Reminds me of Steak and Shake : )

Very good burgers and love the crunchy fries. Great customer service in drive thru. Would Recommend getting the double cheese burger though as the regular one does not have much meat. Yummy all the same.

I tried Freddy's on a whim and a burger craving knowing that it seemed to be a popular chain with a full parking lot, but not knowing much else. My order was a number 1, the Freddy's Original, with all the toppings. The place was packed at noon on a Saturday, so it was a little difficult to find a seat, but that was expected. The manager or owner was wandering around clearing trays and wiping tables, also having conversations with patrons which was nice to see. After a 5 minute or so wait my food arrived. The burger, I was not impressed with. It had crusty edges and fell apart after a couple of bites. There are two patties on an Original, but they're thinner like In-N-Out's are. The taste isn't necessarily bad, just bland. I ended up not finishing the burger, it was just too greasy. The fries were very different, smaller and crispier than a McDonald's fry. I believe you're supposed to smother them in fry sauce and eat them with a fork. They also give you a TON of them, so be prepared to eat a lot of fries. They weren't bad either, just overwhelming with how many I got. Altogether, I probably won't be back to Freddy's for the burger and fries. I will be back to try the frozen custard!

The food here is awesome! I had the Chicago dog with some chili cheese fried and it was delicious. I was borderline on 4 stars, but the owners and staff were so awesome I had to give it a 5.

I believe I read the comment, "fat mans heroin!" Took the words right out of my arm...I mean mouth! Fabulous, quick and cheap! Plus...it's new, so kudos for manning up against the godfathers of fast-food. I have nothing but nice things to say about their food and the establishment!

Great food + great service + great music = a fabulous dining experience! My veggie burger was perfect, my son's steak burger lived up to the name and the french fries were divine. They have this tasty french fry sauce that was really good. The staff was friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go back on my next visit to Tucson. Oh, almost forgot the best part was the incredible frozen custard! Amazing!!!

  • Jane K.

I do not like this place. Just puttin it out there. It seems like a wanna be Culvers, and Culvers is much better. The food is bland, and the fries are flavorless. The custard is ok, but I've had much better. This place is way less than mediocore, and their price is way over mediocore! If you want a cheaper, yummier meal, go to Culvers.
