This place is worth the drive. It will surprise you beyond belief. The food is home made meaning no can sauce. You can taste the freshness in all the food. Not only are they a restaurant but they have thier own tortilla/bake shop and they sell meet and cheese by the pound. They might be cheep in price's but that is it, everything else is 5 stars. My bill had 3 meal's, 2doz fresh tortilla's, a dozen cookies and 3 pasteries (torts and baked goods were togo) and it was only $45. Everybody in the place is so friendly you feel like you are at a friends house. Trust me you will never see this place on Kitchen Cops!

Stopped in for lunch on the way home from a hike in Aravaipa Canyon. This place is near the Arizona Trail, as well as a lot of other amazing outdoor adventure locations - so it's a perfect place to grab a (giant) burrito to fuel your fun! Service was quick, place is spotless clean and the food is delicious. Did I mention the burritos were huge? They have their own tortilleria/panaderia (bake shop) on the premises so the tortillas were first rate and fresh. They had traditional Mexican favorites as well as some American fare as well - hamburgers, hashbrowns and the like. Stay for a raspado or a pan dulce. You'll be glad you did!

Tortillas MI piblito I remember back then when my Tata would drive me down to the place next to circle K in the mornings to go in a pick up a dozen of tortillas to start the day.:) the place smelt good and was like my Nana's kitchen used to smell like growing up.they were the best things I tasted....I remember walking in there and seeing a hand full of ladies with big smiles on there face making and taking pride in those great tortillas. .as I got older and grew so did the tortilla shop.they expanded got new big building. .and was great to see that...but it seems as they grew there great tortillas went down hill..:(it's kinda like big business syndrome. .lol all about the dollar bill and how much they make..the tortillas are always hard and never could last a couple days at home...i remember I could finish a dozen before they got HARD..now I eat one or two.or next day they no good....:( so please tortilla MI piblito what happened to those happy tortilla makers that took pride in those tortillas that I loved and grew up on.:(

So mammoth is not exactly know for decent food. The la casita in mammoth has gone way down hill and I have never been a fan of la casita's service. I decided to try this place while in mammoth. When I walked in I was taken away as to how clean and nice this place was. The tortilla factory was spotless as was the restaurant. I ordered a breakfast burrito, and no kidding, it was the best I have ever had. I went back for lunch that day because I was stuck in mammoth for two days for work. For lunch I had the chef salad. The portion was large and it was great. The next day I had another burrito and it didn't disappoint. For lunch I had the bacon cheeseburger with a side salad. Once again, delicious! The consistency and cleanliness is a far cry from the rest of what mammoth has I offer. Check this place out of you live nearby or are passing through, I bet you will love it!

Wonderful and better than the town fav - La Casita. I know, everyone here in town loves it and everyone from out of town loves it because it's the oldest restaurant in the area (next's to Mel's in San Manuel) but really the quality there has diminished. The service at Tortillas Mi Pueblito is great. Prompt, friendly and attentive. The food was awesome. It's a very clean place, even the restrooms are spic and span. The prices were low and the food was plentiful and not greasy as all get out. Everything was wonderful, even the coffee wasn't bad. I highly recommend this place. If you're in the area stop in. Also, go into the other part of the building and buy a couple of dozen tortillas and baked goods. They make damn fine empandas and little pig shaped baked goods that are scrumptious. Totally worth it. Also, they make the best tortilla chips, and their salsa is the bomb. I would recommend it over everywhere else in the area, despite what the natives think. Everything in there is yummy, prompt, clean and homemade. Also, you can get meat and cheese by the lb there, which in this food desert (no pun intended) is great. Give these guys your business, they're cheaper & better quality than anywhere else in the area.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
