We love this place! Quaint, fun, local - with so many AZ beers on tap. The owner & staff go above and beyond! It's like a family! The food is surprisingly delicious!!! Surpassed expectations! Highly recommend this adorable spot!

Greeted as I sat down at the bar. Very friendly staff. Ordered a micro suggested by one of (evidently) the regulars who was sitting at a nearby table. Beer was very nice. Beer menu is posted on beam above bar. It would be a nice touch to have a printed one for those at the bar or in the South dining room though. I was initially going to have the moose burger, but the bartender suggested the 'Belly Burger'; a beef patty with smoked pork mixed in. Ordered that medium with the chipotle coleslaw. Burger was cooked finely (I ordered it medium). I had it with ghost pepper cheese, and that paired well to cut the fattiness of the burger. It was a large (1/2 pound) burger. Coleslaw was delish. To quote Arnie, "I'LL BE BACK"

  • James B.

Wow. 28 different local micro brews on tap. Amazing burgers the size of your face. Friendly small town atmosphere with cool staff. They have a belly burger that is half pork belly and half Angus beef on a ciabata roll that comes out to roughly 1300 calories and 125% awesomeness.

We came on a super busy night (pig roast), but the staff was accommodating. We would have liked to try the roast, but there was very little left by the time we got seated. We opted for the dinner menu which might have earned more stars had it not been so busy. The live music was quite good.

  • Colin S.

Decided to stop in for the game and found 25+AZ beers on draft and one of their monthly pig roasts!!! Amazing service and recommendations! Can't wait to come back!

Truly wished that I lived closer to Moose Henri's because it has the "beer after work" atmosphere! With so many Arizona craft beers to choose from, you have to try a flight first to get to know your beer! As I have, hopefully you find many favorites! Just a few worth mentioning: Black Horse Brewery Black Stallion (local Show Low brewery), Mud Shark Desert Magic IPA (Lake Havasu City brewery), Kilt Lifter (Tempe brewery) and anything from the Grand Canyon Brewing Co. What goes better with beer than food? My hands down favorites are the ceviche and the chicken wings. The ceviche is usually a Friday or Saturday night thing and the chicken wings are only on Sundays. Well, believe me, both are worth marking the days of the week on the calendar! The sauces served with the chicken wings make them the perfect meal for the whole family. They come on the plate naked (well, actually brined and grilled) with five different sauces: teriyaki, barbecue, ranch, buffalo and chimichurri. Personally, I love the chimichurri. Moose Henri's has a great location, right on Hwy. 260 in Wagon Wheel (between Show Low and Pinetop-Lakeside), the staff is always friendly and helpful, the food is original and tasty, and the beer is, well, the beer tastes great by itself or with any of the food on the menu.

I had the good fortune to find out that this place not only offers a strong selection of craft beers, many local Arizona brews, but on Sunday's they offer smoked and grilled chicken wings. I would recommend smoking the wings a bit longer but the fact that they are grilled, versus being cooked in a fryer, is a nice change and I have a feeling the wings are a lot healthier. They also offer a variety of handmade dipping sauces - I'm a big fan of the soy-ginger sauce that has fresh ginger grated in it and i also liked the chimichurri sauce which has fresh mint and peppers so it is both refreshing and spicy. As for the beer, you can get a tasting flight and they have a fun little sheet where you can review the beers you selected. They also do a roasted pig dinner every few weeks, which I hope to try out next time I'm up there. I will definitely come here again next time I am up in the little town of Lakeside.

Cozy, divey sort of place. They have a slew of yummy micro brews, mostly from Arizona. The Desert Magic IPA is a must try. It didn't punch me in the jaw like I prefer, but it's one of the best flavored IPAs I've had. Imagine biting into grapefruit segments that are filled with IPA....yes! The burgers are so dang tasty, but too huge to finish (husband finished his...barely). The green Chile is mild yet flavorful. The ghost pepper jack cheese is amazing. It's got tons of flavor and the right heat and just adds to the already yummy burger. The jalapeño cranberry slaw is crisp, light, and tasty. It is not drowned in sauce. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Go here. Try this. You'll like it.....

  • Michelle E.

I was so looking forward to the slaw!! Perfect combination of cranberries and jalapeños!!! But I was disappointed, I didn't get any heat and there really wasn't much flavor. That being said, the service was good and I ate the rest of my meal in enjoyment. (Hint: the pepper jack cheese is no joke!). My husband had a burger and a local beer and walked out extremely stuffed :) I will definitely stop again when in the area!

Moose Henri's is tucked into a little area on the right side of the 260 as you head south through Lakeside. The chef has quite a cooking resume, tons of different beer, and some really innovative dishes like jalapeño coleslaw If you are lucky enough to catch one of his pig roasts - which sell out - you will be in for the treat if your life. This guy can cook!!!!!

    (5)
  • Jermey C.

Doug is the best!!! The food is off the chart good!!!

  • David L.

A great food and craft beer joint! I counted 32 micro brews! the kicker was Mother road's Lost Highway black IPA on draft and a Belly burger, the owner, Doug, makes everyone welcome and makes a killer ceviche on top of that. thanks Doug, what a fun place!

  • George C.

I visit Moose Henri's every time I come to Pinetop area about every other month. They are so friendly and I really enjoy their selection of Arizona craft beers on tap. They have a simple menu with no fried food. Everything I've had is fresh and delicious. I recommend their ceviche, quesadilla, any burger, their slaw and of course you must try the pig roast on Saturday one a month and the chicken wings on Sundays. Their location is small but i love the people, service and food.

  • Chad E.

Great beer and food! Everyone is nice and quick to serve and they also have a kick ass little back patio for smoking.

    (5)
  • Daisy B.

One of the best places on the mountain. The pig roast sells out every month and they have the best waitresses. I usually order the moose burger & it's cooked perfectly every time. The jalapeno cole slaw & cranberry slaw are both out of this world. Now if the flatlanders would just stay home and complain.

    (5)
  • Gail P.

At first glance, Moose Henris looks like a typical little dive bar. But the food is anything but typical bar food. They have some of the best food on the mountain! Try the swordfish filet or kebabs with your choice of rub or sauce. Delicious! This time I had the charbroiled chicken kebabs and hubby had pork tenderloin, both of which were excellent. They also serve large burgers with sides like chili cheese rice and cranberry jalapeño slaw (our favorite!) and more. If you stop by on a Friday night, try the yummy fish tacos. They have lots of different craft and seasonal beers. Try a flight and find a new favorite! It's a friendly little place with big tv screens, perfect for watching your favorite team!

  • Jenn T.

Decent food. Looks like a sports bar inside but the food was better than I expected. Came here cause of the reviews. They didn't have appetizers which was strange....just lunch and dinner. They also don't have French fries. The side salad was just iceberg lettuce and tomatoes, but the ranch was good. Don't think the tea is fresh brewed cause it came out of the bar dispenser. Not bad if you are looking for a decently priced quick bite.

Went here while I was in Show Low for a week for work. there were a ton of cars in the parking lot and it was rated pretty highly on Yelp so I thought I would give it a shot. If i was coming here for a beer I would be plenty happy. tons of draft selections and a cool little dive feel and super friendly staff. I ordered the chipotle Philly. when the sandwich came out it looked pretty decent but after my first bite i realized there was absolutely no flavor to the sandwich just a lot of spice. I didn't think that was possible but after a few more bits the only thing i was getting from this Philly was a burning mouth with no flavoring. It was disappointing to say the least. I wasn't super hungry to begin with so I didn't both saying anything. everyone else at the table enjoyed what they ordered so I'm sure it was a fluke but I'm rating my experience on this only. I would go back to try something else

By far the best beer selection on the mountain. They do a great job keeping a good mix of beers from around the state, not just sleepy dog and kilt lifter. I love the mudshark quad they have on right now. I have not tried all of their food but every Sunday they have smoked wings with a few different sauces, I love the ginger soy and the bbq sauce they make. Their chili is also really good. Super friendly staff and usually a fun crowd. Their beer selection and staff what makes it the best bar in the mountain in my book.

  • Tim R.

Best selection of Arizona beers in the White Mountains on tap. This is a fun and casual bar. TV's for sports enthusiasts, but not overly loud. Owner is very friendly and staff has always been attentive. A good mix of food with some added twists (but not outrageous) to American favorites. Great spot!

  • Crystal O.

Had a great lunch there this week!! The Moose Burger is yummy. It's so big that my son and I always share one.

  • Sarah T.

Visit here if you just want hoppy beer. The food isn't very good. We went for dinner and I ordered the swordfish which was very overcooked. The side "roasted red potatoes" was ONE potato. My husband had the fish tacos which were ok and the cheesy rice which was bland. There are several micro brews to choose from. I chose a beer with a low hop number but it was still too bitter for me.

    (2)
  • Lindsay K.

Super friendly service and great food! The Moose Burger on a pretzel roll did not disappoint, and my husband enjoyed his ¼ lb. all beef dog immensely. Over 30 beers with several on tap made for a great selection for the 6 beer flight. Overall very impressed!

Hey yelpers - the yelp map may lead you to the wrong end of town to Moose Henri's for some reason. Type the address into your handheld device's map app to get there if you're having problems. Oh, and order the chili cheese rice as a side. It doesn't disappoint.

  • Julie B.

Fabulous Fish tacos. Fun atmosphere and staff. We will be back. Over 20 microbrews. Small and friendly. My husband loved his chicken quesadilla. The burgers look good and will try that next.

Came up to Show Low to enjoy a week away from the Phoenix Metro, and explore our great state. Yelped to find a good restaurant in the area. The kids thought burgers sounded good, so found Moose Henri through yelp, with its excellent reviews. I have to agree, this small, hideaway gastropub is excellent. They have several microbrews on tap. There is a bar, some high tables, medium tables, and normal tables. This is a place for families and friends to talk it up, have a great loud laugh, cheer and jeer the teams on the several TV's showing different sports. It's relaxed, and it's fun. I had the Moose Burger. Absolutely excellent. 1/2 Pound of angus beef, cooked perfectly medium as requested, and quite juicy and tasty. The burger was perfect. I had mushrooms and pepper jack. Fresh lettuce, pickles, red onion. Didn't even need ketchup. It was perfect as is. I was impressed. The wife had Horseradish Cheddar on hers. She added a little salt to hers, but otherwise was just as good. Kids had Sirloin, perfectly prepared. I had Chili Cheesy Rice, which was good. My wife had the same burger, and the Jalapeño Coleslaw, which she says was quite good. Happened to hit it on Sunday, when they make some brined chicken wings, which were perfect. All in all, I was very happy. This reminded me of a place I used to eat at in Hurley, NY called the Hurley Mountain Inn. Dead animals on the walls, kind of odd paraphernalia on the walls (mostly skiing related, but there was a Chargers Rally Towel there as well), and just the kind of atmosphere that makes you feel very welcome, no matter where you're from. Service was top notch. Our waitress was very friendly, attentive, and quick. Allowed me to sample a beer before I would've mistakenly ordered it (taste was odd). Thanks!

I don't understand how you couldn't give this place 5 stars! My family has had a second home in the area for almost 20 years, and we are so happy to have a great place like to hang out in! The beer selection is primo, with mostly local beers. However, the real gem for us is the food. It is not your standard pub fare. It's familiar, but delicious. For example - ceviche in a bar? Grilled swordfish tacos? Skewers with choose your own rub/sauce? You can also eat healthy here, if so desired. Moose is a great guy, super friendly, gave us the wifi so I could check in here on yelp. Can't wait to go back!

  • Don S.

Mediocre at best. Had the Italian beef sandwich. While the portion was good, as well as the bun, the beef had no flavor. Will we be back? Probably not ...there are many better alternatives in the area.

If you like draft beer, look no further. Great fish tacos and mouthwatering burgers. It's a White Mountain Classic! Dr B.

  • Lena N.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. We didn't drink any beer so can't review that but the service was great and staff friendly. I had the drunken chicken sandwich with some of the best tasting pepper jack cheese I have had in years and my wife had the sirloin steak kabobs with the moose rub. Both were fantastic! We will be back. Only thing that could have been better was a bit more veggies on the kabob but that is really looking for a negative where there isn't one to be easily found

  • Jamie J.

Hit this place up last night, the food was great. I had the moose rubbed salmon kabobs with red potatoes and jalepeno-cran coleslaw and love it. My husband has the moose burger with bacon and horseradish white cheddar and he said it was an incredible burger. However the best part of the stay and the reason for the five stars was our waitress. I am sad that we never actually got her name but she was a bit older and was incredibly attentive with a very unique sweetness about her. Our water glasses were never empty, she dropped god off and scooped up dirty dishes at the perfect moment each time. She was I fact the best server I think I've ever had and I really hope the business recognizes her for how incredible she. Thank you for making our night at Moose Henri's so enjoyable!

My favorite watering hole in the Show Low/Pinetop area. I have been going here since they opened. Friendly staff, quick service, small but well prepared menu items, and great regional beers (25) on tap. They do offer a veggie burger otherwise a meat heavy menu.

    (5)
  • Jean T.

Super friendly service !!!!!! Love this place !!! They have a outdoor patio for those who like to smoke. The owner makes you feel very welcomed, a must when you have a business in a small town!!

    (4)
  • Joe M.

I go here frequently and love the place. Great selection of beer and friendly folks. a lot of people complain about the food (and it really isn't good, but nor is the food at any restaurant in town) but I come here for good beer, friends, and maybe a game. Good times. Check it out! O, the pig roasts are actually great! The regular menu is not impressive. 5 stars based on being a great bar!

  • Kellie C.

Well...... great beer selection. That's about it. Small food selection with no appetizers. We ordered 4 "juicy moose burgers" medium rare and medium. They were all burnt to a crisp. The waitress was nice.... when we saw her..... : / she must have been new because she didn't seem to know very much. I don't think I would suggest this place for anything other than a beer : (

    (2)
  • Gretchen E.

Huge beer selection with great descriptions and knowledgeable staff. This is a favorite date night place for us. We usually share a beer sampler and order dinner. The food is great too. The four instead of five stars is because they close fairly early on Fridays and Saturdays. Too early to make it for an après ski place for night skiers.

    (4)
  • Dave M.

Small, hole in the wall that will surprise you. HUGE selection of microbrews on tap. Great sandwiches. We went twice, once for dinner and once for lunch. Had the cheese steak, nice chipotle rub gave it a nice spicy taste. My wife had the Italian sandwich and loved it. For lunch, we tried the bratwurst and the jalapeño sausage. Very good flavor. Their cranberry slaw is to die for!

    (5)
  • Rita L.

The beer selection in this place is impressive. They are also super dog friendly and allowed us to bring our two pups inside. The frozen peanut butter desert was to die for!!! We will be back!!'

This restaurant IS open on Sunday. We have been going to Pinetop for 30 years and this place has some of the best food, drinks and service that we have encountered.... fantastic selection of microbrews. We will come back

  • Jay C.

GREAT find !!!! These guys are a little spot along the road that I drove by countless times and never even thought about stopping. Once someone told me they had a selection of Micro-Brews I had to check it out. Fantastic food, priced very fair.' EXELLENT selection of AZ micro brews, and LOTS of bottles.!!! Doug ,the owner, even ordered in my favorite Dogfishhead 90 minute IPA after I was going on about how good it was. They do a pig roast every month, for 12-13 bucks you can "pig out" on as much as you can handle. The place was full, not an empty seat in the house!!! Big Assed 1/2 + lb. burger for 9 bucks with bacon and cheese!!. Brats are 5-6 bucks, shish kabobs ..I forget, but good and fair. I can not say enough good things about the place and the staff, genuine welcoming hospitality !! The staff and customers know your name, the vibe is comfortable and relaxed. I wish it did not take me 5 weeks to find it, but it became my go to spot, and I will be back if based there next year. No fryer, and a smaller burger (Mini Moose?) choice might be cool, I skipped a burger once or twice just because it is to "FRIGGIN HUGE !!" BRAVO Moose Henri's !!!!! The grill is open like 11ish, till 2 ? and again from 4 to 8? I don't recall the exact times, just that there is a couple hours in the middle that is not grilling?

I violated rule #1 of Yelp reviews: never write when you're upset. I was fuming the night I wrote it, mad beyond rationality and seeing it closed was the final straw. I was wrong. Terribly, terribly wrong. We went back the other night and it was everything I had ever dreamed of. Moving from a place where breweries and brewpubs are a dime a dozen and we swim in a glorious craft beer river to this land of omnipresent Bud Light, this place is an oasis of good beer for a thirsty soul. 30 craft beets on tap plus more in bottles curated by a guy who obviously loves what he does. Food is standard pub fare, minus fried foods (which put me off to start, but I get it now) with a nice enough selection. My burger was great, the wife's garden burger much the same. And spicy coleslaw? Hell yeah. Or server, while not a beer tender, hustled as needed and while watching over us managed not to be pushy or overly intrusive. Sure, it's small and oddly laid out, but it's cozy in a rural dive-y way. And in that it could use an upgrade but I t hasn't where it counts: beer and lots if it. Flights of 6, pitchers, pints and a happy hour - things don't get much better. So yes, I was wrong. Very wrong. But I hope this rights it because this place rocks. It's just what the White Mountains need.

This place should definitely be on diners drive in and dives, it was a real find on the mountain. They have everything, lots of beer choices and the owner was so helpful making recommendations and giving samples. The Baja fish tacos, which you can only get on Friday's and is not on the menu were loaded with flavor. The BLTO was stellar, the bacon was a 1/4" thick and plentiful! Our friends enjoyed a pint and hamburger and were very happy. No glitz going on here just great food and the owner has a moose tattooed on his calf. They had several flatscreen TVs with all the games playing. If I could give four and half stars I would but that's because they have no appetizers on the menu.

    (5)
  • Susi D.

The greatest dive on the mountain The owner Doug has created some exceptional dishes that are one of skins. Fun friendly atmosphere with a wonderful selection of AZ microbrews. I am probably a regular customer. We celebrate anniversaries ; birthdays ; everyday is a celebration at Moose.

I wanted to love the food at this cute little dive restaurant but I was less than wowed. I had the drunken chicken sandwich which was quite bland so I ended up dousing it with ketchup. The coleslaw was also average. My husband had the burger which he thought was excellent. The menu was small and they have no appetizers or fried food. Happy hour prices for alcohol are awesome. I would probably give them another try but order something different.

Food was ehhhh beer was slightly cold. They did have quite a bit of beers on tap which was nice. Decor was ok. Just ehhhhhhhh.

The burgers are some of the best I've had in Pinetop. Juicy prime beef chargrilled to order on a soft pretzel roll - delicious! Great micro brew draft selection as well. Pick six from the menu and get a course to try. Friendly owner and staff, made us feel welcome.

I LOVE this place! I found it by accident...Realtor on vacation and I was desperate for a Wi-Fi connection! Not only does he have free Wi-Fi but he has so many micro-brews on tap I was in heaven! It's a small place, simply decorated with a laid-back energy and the owner, Doug, is usually behind the bar making you feel at home. I spent several hours here and was surprised to see how busy it was come Friday night. The locals obviously love it as much as I do. He does close early (to us Vegans anyway) about 9pm so catch him while you can. :) The jalapeño-slaw was so delicious--worth a stop for lunch with a cold beer and a pulled pork sandwich. I'm salivating as I type... Thanks Doug--see you soon!

Great little place! Awesome sandwiches and friendly staff. Excellent microbrew selection and you can try flights just like a Wine Bar. Owners come over and talk to you. Will be back for sure!

One of the juiciest burgers I have ever haod. Great flavor and good service. The owner Moose was wonderful and very friendly. The only thing is they need more sides, very limited on what they offer 3 1/2 stars.

WOW!!!! Doug the owner was such a doll! Keira(sorry if i misspelled your name) took care of us on Friday, Aug 31st as well as Gator (awesome bartender) behind the bar!!! We were looking for something new to check out while we were up in Pinetop for Labor Day weekend. We found this place in some info that we had gotten at the place where we were staying. I had the pork kabobs with a side of Chipotle BBQ and Chimichurri sauces because I couldn't make up my mind. Both are custom made by the owner. The Chimichurri won in my opinion!! My bf had the swordfish kabobs with Teriyaki sauce. Both were served with a choice of sides, We went with Chili Cheesy Rice, Roasted Red Potatoes. All of this was delish! Both the pork and swordfish were tender and char-grilled. They have a nice selection of micro brews and wines. Doug is quite knowledgeable with both. This place has the feel of a sports bar/family restaurant. Alot of interesting things on the walls and ceiling as decor. Ski's, sports items, a mini golf hole on the ceiling (seriously, my bf noticed it and asked the owner about it). We also were informed that they have a pig roast that normally takes place on Saturday but that weekend they had it on Sunday. We usually leave to drive back to Phoenix on Sunday, guess who stayed late? And OHHH IT WAS SO WORTH IT!!!! 50-60 lb? pig roasted on a spit. $14.00 a plate, included cheesy potatoes, jalapeno coleslaw and rolls. (and even a second helping cause they had leftovers hehe). We arrived around 4:15/4:30 and its a good thing we did as it sold out and there was no seating by the time they served. The pig was divine!!! Also, they are pet friendly and I was able to bring my 14 yr old Choc lab and sit in the bar with her. She even got a bite of crackling and a doggie bone. :-) I would highly recommend this place. The food was awesome, the atmosphere was great and the people were very nice! I cannot wait to go back. I am hoping to get married up there and if I do, Doug and his awesome PIG will be catering my reception!!!

Traveling on Business, I trusted Yelp and was not disappointed. This place is ideal for good food (I had the salmon skewers, which were excellent) and two drafts from their wide tap selection. I even suggested a couple of beers to the owner, Doug, who was more than happy to hear my suggestions, and quickly wrote down my recommendation. Kicker was the whole thing (dinner and 2 drafts) cost just $20. This is a "do not miss" place if you love microbrews and good, fresh food.

  • Renee R.

Was just going to meet some friends here for a beer, but had heard that the hamburgers were outstanding so tried one. I was NOT let down! By far the best on the mountain. Waitress came by several times as we had a hard time choosing a beer. I think there were over 40 different microbrews on TAP! Finally settled on the peach ale and it was wonderful. They usually have live music on the weekends at night also. Interesting crowd, good service.
