Charming, historic, clean, and comfortable. When it comes to staying in Jerome, you can't get much better than the Connor Hotel! It is in the heart of all the shops and bars- in fact, it sits on top of the famous Spirit Room and live music can keep some rooms awake until after midnight. Prices are fair- anywhere from the $80 range to $170. The rooms are clean and comfortable so you can't be the price. And they hand out L'OCCITANE toiletry items-- the best! There are only 13 rooms at the Connor and they book up months in advance. Make sure to reserve yours in time to enjoy a beautiful stay in one of Arizona's unique and historic mining towns, with one of the greatest views overlooking the red rock country (on a clear day, you can see all the way to Flagstaff)!

Wow. What a great find. Reasonable prices, incredible staff, clean and charming rooms. Perfect location and concierge very informative about restaurants and local stuff. Its obvious he loves his job and life. Great recommendations. Love the nice linens, free upgrade, and l'occitane supplies ( and ample fluffy towels) and the old west ambience is well worth the price. Probably not a great place for families but singles or couples - perfect! I have already booked another night for my return trip.

Because this hotel books up QUICKLY, and I want to return here with no booking issues, I should definitely not say the following: LOCATION- Great location! Centrally located on Main St. next to most of the shops, wineries, restaurants, and museums. PETS ARE ALLOWED- They even bring in a little doggy bed and treats. However, the guests staying there with their furry pal told me the dogs cannot be left alone in the room. Something to consider if you plan on shopping or dining and don't want to leave your pet tied to a lamppost! I would check on this to be sure.... CHARM- You really feel like you are stepping back in time. The hotel staff consists of delightfully friendly people who will tell you the story of their lives and share with you interesting local lore. I should definitely NOT recommend Room Number 7, my favorite room: BED- Comfy, comfy, comfy! Fluffy blankets and nice mattresses! OLD GAS STOVE- This is how the room is heated: an old fashioned little stove with gas flames but complete with a modern thermostat control. HUGE WHIRLPOOL TUB- Something you can really sink into! If you go UP the street a few stores (forgot the name of the store) you can find wonderful packages of bath salts for about $6.00 (something I hunted for as soon as I saw the tub) COMPLIMENTARY POPCORN- yum! FLOWERS- The older lady who works at the hotels grows her own flowers and roses. Every day she places them in cute little vases and shares them with the guests. And the question everyone has on their minds... IS IT REALLY HAUNTED? Strangely enough, as I was reading a little article about the hauntings at the Connor Hotel, I suddenly heard an alarm clock going off in the room next to mine. The next sentence I read in the article? "Guests have reported the sounds of alarm clocks in various rooms." Definitely made the hair on my arms stand on end. I quickly raced out into the hall to locate the sound, only to discover a member of the staff (the Rose Lady) entering a VACANT room to turn off an alarm clock. Interesting. The only reason I give this place a 4 instead of a 5 is because parking is extremely difficult. However, this comes with the territory. Parking is difficult everywhere in Jerome, but what do you expect here?

I love Jerome, and have been here several times. Two of my friends and I drove up from Phoenix for a weekend in January 09. We were booked into Rm. 6 which had two large Queen beds and I thought it was very quaint, very clean and historical. I remember every step I took in the hallway squeaking. Rm 6 was pretty spacious and the bed was very soft and comfortable. The bathroom was nice and we had a great view right down onto Main street. Mostly we stayed downstairs in the Spirit Lounge and also had fun walking around trying out the different bars along Main street. I had no idea about any notion of the hotel being "haunted" and in fact had never really heard of the Connor until that trip. Later that night, while in bed early in the AM, around 3, I had an "experience" that I still cannot explain- in rm. 6. I know that both my friends were sound asleep, but there was something else in the room..near the ceiling -directly above me. It was not a threatening, or scary thing, and I really can't say much more as the experience turned quite personal. I wrote the whole thing off until several months later, but I couldn't deny that something weird, and deeply personal had happened to me in rm. 6. It may sound crazy, but something I could not see was definitely touching me as I laid there, wide awake. It was the oddest,(and yet, very pleasant) sensation. LOL.. I'd go back to the Connor anytime. It was a blast and I met the owner in the gift shop as well when we first checked in.

The hotel itself was fine - comfortable, in the middle of Jerome, plenty of amenities. However, the reason it gets 3 stars is because we were not warned about the live music that goes on every night directly underneath at the bar. When we checked in, the woman who greeted us told us about it (too late!) and said that it would only be 9PM to 11PM but it is now nearly 12AM and it hasn't stopped. Probably not the best place for kids.

The Connor Hotel is a 100+ year old building, so there are some limitation to what the rooms can provide, but within those limitations, the hotel has stuffed the rooms with as many amenities as possible. Our room had a flat screen tv, mini-fridge, microwave, hair dyer and a coffee pot in addition to plenty of furniture for a comfortable stay. There was also complimentary bottles of water and microwave popcorn along with the more standard tea and coffee. The towels were so soft I actually asked the front desk where the came from. There was even a BOGO coupon for a local restaurant. We stayed two nights and enjoyed our stay. One word of warning, they are not kidding that the rooms over the bar can be noisy up until 10-midnight or so. I almost knocked off a star, but the hotel website clearly discloses which rooms are above the bar and that noise may be a factor. We were staying during the week so I didn't think it would be an issues, but we are semi-early birds so it did. We were warned though, so our fault. I would stay here again, but I would choose one of the rooms farther from the bar.

I just returned from an overnight stay in Jerome and I'm so glad we picked the Hotel Connor. This small hotel is super charming and it's in a great location, right in the heart of Jerome on Main Street. We stayed in room #5 and it is decently sized with a cute private bathroom. I was also very impressed with how clean it was -the bathroom was spotless! It also had one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in at a hotel. It had a pillow-top mattress, super soft linens and was covered in lots of fluffy pillows. There were also a lot of little details about the room that won me over. For example, some of the freebies included a bag of popcorn, water bottles, coffee, tea, chocolates, and L'Occitane bath products. It had all the amenities one would need, such as a coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, alarm clock, hair dryer and a flat screen TV mounted on the wall. They also don't skimp on the towels in the bathroom. I love that. All in all, I had a great stay and thought it was a good value. I definitely look forward to staying here again if we're ever in Jerome.

The owner sent a response and an apology shortly after I wrote the review. A couple of weeks later out of the blue she contacted me again to refund my money and to tell me that although the feedback was hard to hear, she made a decision to go completely non-smoking. Now that's treat customers service. I don't know if I'll make it back to Jerome, but if I do, I would stay here.

We stayed at the Connor Hotel after reading a few reviews on Yelp and we were not disappointed. Our room was spacious and clean. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. I also liked the French soap and shampoo (L'Occitane) and ended up ordering a lot of their products on Amazon when I returned to Chandler. The gift shop was nice, too. Overall, I loved everything except the parking - it is street parking and you may end up parking quite far away.

We stayed at the Connor Hotel from 3/28 through 4/2 for my husband's 30th birthday. We stayed in room 10. You cannot beat the location of the hotel, it's close to everything in Jerome and you can walk to quite a few places and great views. Everyone we interacted with we was very polite, friendly and attentive. There is bar downstairs so you can encounter noise from any bands that play but we were usually so beat by the end of they day we hardly noticed it. The room itself was small but functional and had everything we needed; bed, tv, mini fridge, microwave and bathroom. When we checked in we basically dropped our bags in the room and left to go check out the town. We decided to call it an early night and just hang in and watch tv and drink a bottle of wine we bought at Caduceus Cellars but when we returned to the room and tried to turn on the tv it wouldn't work. The box was not turning on. We notified the staff who came up and checked it out and advised she would call their maintenance staff member who kindly came over to check it out around 8 PM. He determined that the box was bad. The staff worked with us and the box was replaced the next day while we were out. We were very appreciative. The bed was one of those memory foam beds and was a bit firm for me and the pillows were sort of flat so I didn't sleep that well but it was clean which is the most important factor for me when we stay anywhere. I did notice that the hotel is pet friendly which is awesome even though we did not bring our dog with us I think it's a great amenity. Also, when we checked in we were asked if we were AAA members because they were offering a discount which I thought was great because I am a AAA member but would never have thought to ask and appreciated them giving us he opportunity to save a few bucks when they could have said nothing and kept the extra money.

What a treat! The Connor Hotel is charming beyond words. Room 3 was just perfect. The bed was comfortable and well stocked. Thanks for splurging on the upscale toiletries -- nice touch! The people at the hotel could not have been friendlier. We arrived very late and they made arrangements for us to get the key after hours. The Connor is awesome!

Live music in the bar on weekend afternoons. Plenty of bikers and girls hanging onto the bikers. You might see a couple Jerome police officers monitoring the drunks spilling out onto the sidewalk.

stayed here because the girlfriend was too scared to stay at the famously haunted Jerome Grand. so we get there kinda late and as we walk up to the second floor to check out our room, the hallway is filled with a group of people on a ghost hunt, who proceed to tell that all of their little ghost gizmos went off at the same time in front of that door right there---- oh, the door we are about to go into? yes, that door. so i slept well. the gf slept about two hours total. flat screen tv with directv, surprising comfy bed and pillows (why do pillows at other hotels always suck so hard?), and a nice warm blanket that allowed us to sleep with the window open. great location, right in the middle of town, and a really cool old victorian hippie lady who checked us in (who actually may have been a ghost herself) and told us some weird stories. and their is live music in the spirit room downstairs, which was fun, and even though we went back to our room early, we couldnt hear the music from the room.

I was a loyal customer to this hotel for years, but after this trip I will never go back. After spending thousands of dollars over the years and sending dozens of referals I was treated very poorly by the staff and owner Anne. We had toilet problems and our room overflowed and smelled like sewage, while trying to fix the problem another guest complained that we were being to loud at 11pm even though the bar band downstairs was still going strong throughout the hotel. Instead of speaking to me about this the next morning the owner Anne, tooK $150 out of my credit card! She was so unprofessional that she did not even give me the courtesy to call me herself but I had to call and be treated TERRIBLE by her staff. I go to Jerome all the time and will NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. They are not only overpriced for a hotel above a bar but they have no respect for their customers!!! I highly recommend staying at the Mile HIgh or Ghost City Inn where they treat you like a valued customer and you dont have to worry about extra charges on your card!!!!

I adore The Connor Hotel. Keep in mind that *Jerome* is my boyfriend (he just doesn't know it yet) and I'm at my most content when I'm in this town so any review of any establishment in Jerome is going to ooze with hippy love and reek of kush. I've stayed here 3 times in the last 6 months and I absolutely love it. The last time I stayed here we got lucky and one of the bands playing in the Spirit Room beneath the Hotel we knew from Phoenix. The rooms are equipped with a Plasma T.V., mini fridge, coffee maker and any other amenity you could possible need, including popcorn and yummy little chocolates that made my hangover a little more tolerable the next morning. The king sized bed was clean and comfy and the linens were actually nice... no garden variety motel 6 skank goin' on here. It's also pet friendly which is a plus in my book. As mentioned, parking can be a bit of a challenge, especially with all the bikes... but once you're parked it's not like you need to drive anywhere anyway. Word of warning: The main "office" area closes very early and you have to use the side door to gain access to the Hotel. (for which they provide a key) If you are incredibly intoxicated, you may not remember that doors can open both ways (push....or pull) ahem.... Please pull.... or you'll be leaving crazy slurring messages on your passed out sisters' voicemail (which she will play on speaker at lunch the following day for all to hear) and you will be sleeping on a bench. :) Good Times

Super friendly staff, Perfect central location in Jerome. Clean rooms. We stayed in room #2, over top of the spirit room, but it was very quiet that night. No problems at all. The room is a nice suite with plenty of room. The bathroom is a little small, but what do you expect from a 100 year old hotel. Didnt experience any paranormal activity. :) Except maybe one guy that was always getting ice everytime I went into the hallway, But I think he was alive and well. Would definitely stay here again the next time.

We had a lovely stay. It was my bf's bday and I told them when I made the reservation. They had champaigne chilling in the fridge and a little cake with two forks and a candle waiting for us when we got to the room. The room was very clean. The hotel staff are wonderful and very knowledgeable about the area. I would definitely stay there again! Those who need the extreme quiet of a chain-type of hotel may not be happy here. But if you like a charming and unique place that is clean and in a great location for walking around Jerome, this is perfect.

First let me first recommend that the drive is best made in a convertible or on the front (or back) of a motorcycle. Even a light rain with the top down could not wipe the relaxed smiles off our faces on the return trip home. After 158 turns ( we didn't really count them ) at 20- 30 miles an hour......one last blind curve opens onto a view across the valley floor that requires a picture, and a thousand words to describe. Suddenly you are in the heart of this history rich town. Jerome, known for it's ghosts, bars and a beautiful collection of Harley Davidson's ( and Those Others Bikes ) that seem to change in number and variety while the afternoon band breaks down and the next bands sets up. Finding the hotel entrance was difficult as the band tried to draw us in for a cold beer and live rock and roll at The Spirit Room, located below the Hotel Connor. With a pleasant greeting from the hotel host and a welcome to my Tibetan Terrier ( I believe this is the only pet friendly hotel on the hillside) we moved through the gift shop to our room upstairs. In the hallway a friendly housekeeping staff, smiled and turned back to clipping cut roses for each room's small arrangement. The surprise behind our door was a king sized bed and a perfect room in decor and function. a high back chair near the street view window was a great perch to watch the locals, who seem to gather at the town park across the street to drink beer ( yes, it's allowed in the park ) and watch the tourists, if they run out of things to talk about. The Bed was comfortable and extra pillows (already provided) made watching the 32" ceiling mounted plasma screen even more comfortable. Coffee maker, with real creamers (in the frig), chocolates and microwave popcorn were there if needed and the bathroom with large bathtub was among the cleanest I have ever thrown a wet towel on the floor in. Everything is within walking distance in Jerome. Parking was a challenge at first, but with a little patience we manage to park directly in front of the hotel and only returned reluctantly to the car to drive away from a perfect weekend getaway.

We arrived after dark, got a very friendly reception as well as a deal on our room (it was October), and lots of advice about what to visit in the area. The room was clean and spacious. It can be slightly noisy in the morning if the room is toward the street. Several good restaurants are within short walking distance.

We arrived to this little town not knowing where would spend the night, but that didn't stop us from saloon hopping. We entered the bar and we were told that rooms might still be available at the Connor Hotel. The lady gave us the key to rooms 2, 6, and 7 because it was three of us gals. I opened the door to room 2 and instantly liked the fact that it would be able to accommodate the third person. We walked towards the opposite end of the hallway and I opened room 6. It had two big queen beds, but in my head, I really liked room 2. As we were exiting, I tried to close and lock the door, but the damn door shut in my face with so much force that I felt as if someone shut it. I'm trying to be rational about it but no windows were open, so it doesn't make sense how this door slammed itself shut. I didn't fess up about this incident to my friend immediately because it would have spazzed her out. The mirror on the stairway caught my attention. I touched it and it howled at me, I swear. First of all, something was very different about that mirror. I know that when you touch a mirror, your fingers never touch. However, my fingers were touching with this mirror which means that someone can see you but you can't see them. It scared the shiznit out of me and raced up the stairs fast. Rationally speaking, the bar is downstairs and a band was performing so maybe it could have been the people dancing and singing the night away. Who knows?! All I know is that I felt the howling come directly from the mirror. Lastly, my camera was not working properly the next morning as we were checking out. Ugh! I examined my camera and it freaking had a crack on the screen. Frankly, I don't remember this little crack on my camera, so I was livid. I would point the camera to take a picture but it wouldn't show up on my screen. It really threw me off and at breakfast, my friend and I decided to swap stories about our night at the Connor Hotel.

We were looking for an inexpensive place to stay for a night in Jerome for my boyfriend's birthday. I 'm so glad we stayed here! I chose room 3 because it was only $105 a night. But it suited us perfectly. It is totally charming, has a little fake fireplace and a great view of the mountain. The bed is super comfy, with down pillows and a heavy down comforter. (Which is great, because it snowed overnight.) We're still snuggled up in bed as I write this, hoping 11am takes it's time :) Also, I love popcorn and the room had it, along with a few kinds of tea, and real cream in the mini fridge. One thing, tho, as is to be expected with any really old hotel built on a 30% grade, there is going to be some shifting, which explains the 1 to 2 inch gaps under most of the doors. Still, not enough to knock down my 5 star rating. When we come back to Jerome, the only thing that might lure us away from staying here is staying in the Asylum where there might be a better chance of a ghost :)

Hello from room 12. We were fortunate enough to book a room at The Connor Hotel in Jerome for two consecutive nights. This place is great. Beyond being in a wonderful location, this hotel is comfortable, clean, inviting, and unique. We will definitely stay here again. Our room and the hallways look great. They've kept the dignity of the old building without compromising comfort or cleanliness. The details in the ceilings and decor make our room a wonderful place to be. We loved to come into the room and have bottles of water, tea and coffee, popcorn, and mints available to us included with the room. The wi-fi works well, the staff is incredibly helpful. The bath ammenities are a great quality. The bathroom is large. I'm writing in short bursts because I'm so pleased. We can't wait to come back.

My boyfriend and I have stayed here twice before. It can be a little pricey, but its totally worth it. The staff was sweet and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and have a vintage feel but have nice TV's, are well stocked, and have nice AC and heating. I highly recommend this hotel! Its sweet, convenient, and you'll have a nice time.

On a Saturday night, everything else was completely booked in Jerome. We were lucky enough to secure a room last minutely in the Connor Hotel (Room #7). And lucky were we! You enter the hotel through the gift shop. The women in the lobby/gift shop were so pleasant to speak to and very warm & welcoming. The gift shop has some of the most unique and charming little items I've ever seen and I even ended up picking up something for myself. The building has kept its aged old charm. The floor and steps quietly squeak and I'll be damned if that's not the original flowery carpeting. Our room was nothing short of cozy albeit spacious. We opened the windows to let a nice, cool breeze in. The bed was big, soft and you'll sink right in. The room, despite its age, was very clean and well taken care of. This room was the room that we said we felt the most "at home" in during our entire trip in the Southwest, a welcome experience. We're bathroom snobs honestly and the bathroom was absolutely PRISTINE and spacious. Even though we didn't use them, the tub had jets in it. They provided us with L'Occitane hair/body care products, fanceh. There were even little towels wrapped nicely that said "for makeup removal"-- how thoughtful. There was a coffee maker in the room that we did not use, and there was popcorn and a bowl to make popcorn with the microwave in the room. There was a mini fridge we did use. There was also a flat screen TV we did not use. The room was equipped with an old time gas stove for heating which we did not need. The AC unit was above the door and worked well. There was also a fan on the ceiling that kept the air flowing nicely. We loved the (original? don't know) ceiling in the room. Also Room #7 is above Caduceus Cellars and far from the Connor Hotel bar, so no worries about noise. We can't say we encountered any paranormal activity, but we've heard over and over that a lady haunts the place. We would have given 4.5 stars if possible because it was a little pricey for what you get, but we were taken last minutely which was a huge relief. So rounded up to 5 stars. Would definitely stay again!

I am a customer service snob. I have high expectations, both as a customer and as a business owner. I love exceeding my clients expectations, but as you know, not all businesses have that same goal. My wife and I haven't been to Jerome in 25-30 years, and wanted to spend one night there on our way through Sedona and to Flagstaff. I chose this hotel based on reviews, the location, and pics on their website (but we've been fooled by nice pics before). This hotel was the highlight of our trip, we both wouldn't stop talking about it. We love staying in historic hotels, but this was the most comfortable, yet still retained the historic feel. I often say the little things you do make a big impact. The water in the fridge, the popcorn, the mints. Well done. A clean, quiet room, friendly service at the desk and a little gift shop that rivaled some of the shops on town.

My sentiments about the Connor Hotel echo other reviewers' in that I just want to live there, damnit! This is the second time the fella and I have stayed there, both times in room #12 (helpful hint: you do not hear the bar in this room). The bed was so comfortable, and it aided in what was probably the first good night of sleep I'd had during the week of hell - er, Christmas. The deep whirlpool tub is a welcome feature, and I wish I could replicate their bathroom at home. You get a good view of the Verde Valley from this room. The hotel is smack dab in the middle of town (though everything's on one lil' street, so that's not saying much), and is run by some friendly characters. It is a 17 second stumble from the Caduceus Cellars tasting bar, and situated above the Spirit Room saloon. The gift shop where you check in has some cute items for sale. My only complaint is against the two families that were staying across the hall from one another and letting their screaming children run wild in the hallways, while the adults sat on the hallway floor. Not the hotel's problem, I'm just whining. I'm sure the other places in Jerome are just as charming, but we're pretty sweet on the Connor Hotel and look forward to returning ASAP.

This was a good option for a stay in Jerome. Our room (#2) had a bedroom and living room (with day bed) perfect for the three of us. It had a flat screen in each room and fridge/microwave. The bed was very comfortable. Lord have mercy the noise coming from the bar was atrocious! The hotel staff do a wonderful job warning you about the band but from 10-midnight, it was SO LOUD. I never expected that level of noise and things like street noise or people in the halls don't really bother me. I was pretty surprised. The gift shop attached has a lot of wonderful items inside. I always love browsing in it. If I ever stay here again, I will make every effort to stay in one of the quiet rooms.

My husband and I have stayed at The Connor several times throughout the years. Namely, room 1, and more recently, room 12. Let me count the ways I wish I could move into this charming hotel: - The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Recently we booked room 12 for my 30th birthday celebration. Upon checkin, we were delighted to find a bottle of champagne and a small cake with a card wishing me a happy birthday! That is a fabulous touch! I forgot the cake in the room when we checked out, but when I went back to the gift shop the owner was kind enough to retrieve the cake and give it to me. I just adore her! We bring our small dog with us, and the staff always have a dog bed and a bone or treats waiting for him. They will tell you which restaurants are pet friendly so you don't have to leave the pup chained outside. They do require that you do not leave the dog in the room, but the owner advised me that if we are just running out for dinner we could let her know and she would call us if there were any complaints about barking. All the staff are friendly and helpful to the point that you feel like you're staying at Grandma's house for the weekend, just with more privacy! Communicate your needs to them and they will happily do what they can to accommodate. - The rooms are gorgeous. This is not a chain hotel, it is not a 5 star hotel, it is a historic hotel. With that come old school key lock doors, antique furniture, and a general sense that you have stepped back in time. Room 1 overlooks the main square and is directly above the bar, as others have noted. We don't mind the noise because we love music and are usually downstairs enjoying ourselves anyway. I will note that the first time we stayed at The Connor, we were in Room 1 which is rumored to be haunted by the Lady in Red. We heard some very odd knocking along the walls that couldn't be explained by wind or plumbing. Also, one of the lamps kept flickering or turning off and on. Perhaps this could be explained away by old wiring or the fact that the lamp is antique. We also were awakened in the middle of the night by a cold breeze and looked over to see that one of the windows was open. Oddly, the knocking had stopped. Have no fear, though, the Lady must have grown tired of us, for the next several times we stayed in Room 1, nothing out of the ordinary occurred. Room 12 is in a world of its own. I shouldn't say this because I don't want it to be booked the next time we decide to visit Jerome, but the high cielings, whirlpool tub, luxurious bedding, and amazing views make this room very special! We previously favored room 1 for its spaciousness, but I now adore room 12 much more. It is at the back of the hotel so you feel like you have all the privacy in the world and we heard absolutely no bar or neighbor noise. The bathroom window even looks down onto the infamous Husband's Alley. The hotel does book up quickly, but it is worth the wait to get a room. The staff, the ambiance, the amenities, the views! We never stay anywhere else while in Jerome.

An amazing hotel. Incredibly friendly staff. The room I had was better than expected. Some of the most comfortable pillows I've ever slept on. Great views. Really have nothing to complain about. A must stay for anyone considering a trip to Jerome.

Great staff, reasonable price and very unique rooms. Stayed in #6 with two queen beds. They even had complimentary microwave popcorn, mints and bottled water. Agree with comments on noise and internet lacking, but would still go back to the Connor Hotel.
