Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut are not recommended to dine-in if you are diagnosed with high blood pressure. High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Be careful about what you order here--some things were great, and others were rather lackluster. The wood-fired sausage was dry and came with an overabundance of potatoes, the spaghetti and meatballs decent (but I would have loved some parmesan cheese for on top), and the pizzas were pretty good (and large!). The antipasto plate was woefully overpriced for what came out. We were a bit disappointed in the service--our server forgot to deliver an entree, and didn't come back to check on how we doing until the rest of us were halfway though our food. We finally had to flag another server down so our hungry friend could eat. They offered no discount on the missing entree. The kitchen missed a salad that someone else ordered, as well. Ambiance is pleasant, though, and our server kindly split our checks (and didn't add on the automatic gratuity even though we had a big party, which was nice). Slim pickings for food in this town, and given the competition, you might want to give this place a try.

The best Fettuccine Alfredo I have ever tasted...and in Hereford, Arizona? True friends! Outstanding service, lovely atmosphere, great visit with the owner and a wonderful surprise after a day of bird photography in this scenic, Southern Arizona "Sky-Island" and world famous birding area! All in all a great meal at Pizzeria Mimosa!

Mimosa is a fantastic restaurant. I've heard good things about it from the locals (I'm not from Arizona just here on business) and I finally got around to trying it. A coworker and I went and I regret not eating there sooner. The physical building and setup is very nice and inviting. The atmosphere is pleasant and the wait staff was knowledgeable and helpful (ask for Angle she was awesome). Wine selection was very good. But the food... Wow. Fantastic food. I've never eaten so much. I wanted to eat more. The quality was superb and the portions large. The prices were a little more than Olive Garden but not by much and the difference in quality was unbelievable. Truly a fantastic dining experience. Not only would I recommend it to anyone in the area, but I'll eat there again and tell my friends. I got a chance to meet the owners / operators and they're fantastic people who really want to run a restaurant right and clearly know what they're doing.

Mimosa is excellent! Great food & service. Finally living in a town in AZ with good pizza. The Italian beer (Larosa?) is alright too. That was new to me. We tried the Mimosa pizza that comes with roasted pistachios and replaced the prosciutto for wood roasted mushrooms. Muy Bueno!

This place is so amazing. I love everything I have tried, especially the gnocchi! It is like an adult version of Mac and cheese. The house salad with house dressing is so delicious even! Sometimes the waitstaff is a little slow or disorganized but they totally make up for it with the food and they are really nice. I would recommend even though their shortcomings.

  • Anthony G.

The place seems cool but it's not, pizza is bad it is super thin and was burnt and quite literally looked like bird droppings and somehow for 3 people the total came out to 50 dollars. Waitress was nice though

It was an awesome ride to this place. The views are beautiful around this restaurant. They have a meeting room behind the restaurant where groups can host meetings, and they even provide a projector and screen, as well as a group waitress. The price didn't match the feeling of being in an upscale restaurant--it was definitely affordable. I tried the fried calamari with the spicy sauce and it was surprisingly good even without with full crispiness due to the sauce. The selection of pizzas is definitely the go-to section in the menu--there are so many options and the size is perfect for a hungry stomach, with even some left overs to enjoy the next day.

Fantastic service both times we've gone. We love the happy hour. The truffle fries and margarita pizza are delicious and cheap during the happy hour. We also tried the raspberry gelato. It was fantastic.

When my coworker told me that we were heading to an Italian restaurant in the middle of the desert just north of Mexico I figured he meant Pizza Hut. After two trips to Sierra Vista we've gone here each time, it's a good little place with some solid food in the middle of nowhere. On a warm day enjoy the patio seating and just look at all those stars you can't even see while in cities. The beer selection is minimalist but the food is quite good. Definitely one of the best options out there.

Best food and atmosphere within 20 mins of Sierra Vista. Food is A-MAZ-ING. Steak, pizza, pasta, salads... All flavorful, generous portions, high quality and fresh ingredients. It is an oasis in this food desert we live in.

First things first - our waiter was excellent at dinner tonight! His name is Jordan and I highly recommend requesting his table if you do go to Pizzeria Mimosa! The place has nice ambiance and I really enjoyed the atmosphere - low lighting, clinking glasses, relaxed chatter. We were given a fresh, hot half-loaf of bread that was deliciously seasoned - yum! The salad I got was also pretty good. But the lemon caper breaded chicken I got (with angel hair pasta instead of potatoes) had a really sour, awful taste. I really didn't care for it at all. I also tried my husband's meal - pizza. It looked delicious but was just okay. I really wanted to love this place (especially with the great service and all) but I probably won't go back again based on food quality. Final note - they have a new chef and apparently food portions have decreased. An appetizer that used to suit 4-6 people was now only enough for two (per our friends who were with us and had been here before).

We tried Pizzeria Mimosa for the first time last night, and we loved it so much we immediately regretted not having tried it earlier. We arrived in time to get our cocktails (Prosecco cocktail and Pomegranate Limonata- delicious!) and appetizer (Spiedini- SUPER delicious) at Happy Hour rates. We ordered the pizza that was on special- which included gorgonzola, arugula, pears, prosciutto, and balsamic glaze. We both agreed it was one of the best pizzas we've ever had. We finished the meal with the Tiramisu, which was the biggest portion and most delicious Tiramisu either of us have had! Our server Angel was very friendly and attentive- we had no complaints at all! This pizza place definitely has better food and a better ambiance, and DEFINITELY a better bang for your buck than a certain hip pizzeria in Bisbee. We will be visiting much more often, thanks Pizzeria Mimosa!

This place is a must if you love Italian food accompanied by a nice bottle of wine. I had the Gnocchi and it was amazing. Hubby had their Eggplant Parmesan and it was also amazing. We shared a nice bottle of Pinot Noir and enjoyed the atmosphere. Staff was very attentive and served our food in a timely manner. Don't miss out on this place.

Great food! Definitely worth the wait, but not worth the impoliteness of the staff on the whole... From the waitress to the manager. We waited 30 minutes in order to order our drinks. The waitress was no where to be found. We had a party of 8. And it was very crowded, so I understand, but we felt as though they were avoiding us. I've waited tables before, so I know what it's like to work a busy room. The staff, to include the female manger, were completely unapologetic. If you want great Italian food, go here during the week when's it's not too crowded. You'll at least be served in a timely manner. Don't expect the staff to be too sweet to you. Great food, terrible experience, unfortunately.

The most authentic Italian pizza we've had since moving here. We spent three years in Europe and this is the closest to the real thing you're going to get- I recommend the pizza margherita. Wonderful mozzarella with fresh basil and a very yummy sauce. It's out new favorite restaurant in the area!

Fabulous find. We are from Bisbee and will take the 30 minute drive many more times. The Happy Hour menu is great everything on it was spot on and for $5.00 each it can't be beat. The bread and olive oil is to die for we could have just devoured loaf after loaf. The regular portions are very large and could be shared as we did the appetizers. Everyone was very courteous and friendly although in fairness of full disclosure they could speed up the drink order process. Food came out timely but they were not very busy at 3:45 pm on a Monday.

I went and ate there last night with a very large group and it was a pleasurable experience. Our table was ready when we showed up for our reservation and we were promptly seated. We did only have one waitress collecting drink and food orders but she was very efficient in the way she collected orders. I ordered the Calzone along with one of the appetizers along with an iced tea for a drink and my order came out to be less than $30. All in all it was a very good night and we will be going back.

My visit was on 3/15, so this is a few days overdue. Read all the wonderful reviews on Yelp, came in right after church service. We were the very first couple in, the second to get our drinks and the third to get our meals. Hum, not good. Our waitress, (starts with an R) was too interested in talking to the male staff than service. Our food - which would have been perfect - if it wasn't serviced luke warm; came out from another server whom accessed our frustration. I would have given higher stars if our food was hot. But unfortunately the service made our first visit a bad visit. * We would have brought this up to the manager if we weren't on a time crunch.... Thanks again to the slow nonchalant waitress.

I have to say, Caprese with wood roasted Wilcox tomatoes and mozzarella are delicious. Pizza is disappointing, crust is not what I expected, flimsy, soft, and tasted as storebought nan-bread. It probably tastes better if I toasted again at home to make it crispy. I like pizza from banshees in Bisbee more. Nutella cheesecake was very rich, it tasted like chocolate butter instead of Nutella. I would go back for Caprese and to try different dishes but I will never order pizza or Nutella cheesecake again.

Despite a reservation for 20, there was one cook. Half the food came (some burnt) the rest took over an hour. Do NOT recommend for business lunches!

Have visited here multiple times and have never had a bad experience. Though sometimes some food hasn't been so great, the pizza is always a great choice but I'm not a big fan of the pizza with the white sauce. Recently visited here during lunch time on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised that they had a great $14 "lunchbox" 4 course meal deal. Awesome idea! I had the Caesar salad which I wasn't a big fan of, but the mista salad is always great (get the dressing on the side). The meal also comes with another appetizer, entree, and a dessert. I chose the spaghetti and the salted caramel truffle gelato. Both were fantastic! Reading some of the other reviews, I guess having a good experience is a hit or miss. However I've been here several times and have always had fairly good service (long wait times are expected during busy days/hours) and good food.

The place is refreshingly modern and welcoming upon entry. We got seated right away yet once there, we sat, and sat. We just finished 8 mile hike, a bit dehydrated and overheated, and so we didn't mind waiting while enjoying their air conditioning. For a moment we pondered if place was closed, or closing, so my friend's husband got up, went outside to see if there was hours posted, and when he came back in restaurant, the hostess presented herself and asked sweetly 'how many in your party?' Considering it was same girl that sat us ten minutes prior, we thought it was pretty funny. Our friend asked for table of five, got seated right away, ordered drinks, got them, ordered for us via text we sent him, and the whole time worker ignored us ladies. However, she was super helpful, flirty, and provided fast service to help our friend... meanwhile breezing pass us ladies who still had no drinks. It was hilariously entertaining. As pizza and meals were being placed on table, we walked over and sat down giggling, and finally thanking flabbergasted worker for showing excellent example of bias based service. Their food satisfied our hunger from hike, pizza is good, they have gluten free options, meals are a bit pricey for portion, and service was, well, dependent on if you were a man or group of ladies. We had to ask person behind bar for our check as lil miss seemed too embarassed to show her face the rest of the meal.

Having been out of the area for five years, upon my return I was amazed and delighted to find this true gem. My family and I lived in Sicily for three years and we also traveled all over the Italian mainland, so authentic Italian taste is not unfamiliar to us. I think Mimosa's fare fits that description well. The restaurant is elegant, the food is tastefully presented, the staff are attentive, the food is delicious, and the bill was quite reasonable. What more can I say? I would definitely go back.

I have been to this restaurant three times now within a year and am happy to write this review for them. 2 out of the 3 times it was with a good-sized group (3-6). There's quite a bit of seating so wait times were never an issue for me although on rare occasions I hear you may have to wait (as with any other busy restaurant). I can't recall my earlier two visits so I'll comment on my recent one which was during happy hour with a group of 3. It was my first time for happy hour and I would definitely recommend it for anyone who would like a quick delicious bite. Service: 5/5 There's really nothing to say here except we received quick and great service. The waitress was there to take our drinks and, later, our food menu all the while stopping frequently to check up on us to make sure we had everything we needed. It was frequent enough not to be intrusive or annoying. Just the right amount. She smiled and was very friendly. She took the time to explain the menu items and any questions we had about the foods. Food: 5/5 Happy Hour items are $5.00 each. We ordered the Bruschetta, Meatballs, and Calamari. The Bruschetta was absolutely delicious. It comes with four slices of bread with toppings on top only here they provide four separate toppings: artichoke-based, roasted tomato-based, olive-based, and I can't remember the last. All I can remember was that the artichoke and roasted-tomato were the best. We tried all the flavors and ordered a second dish with only the ones we liked. Meatballs were enjoyed by the others at my table but I thought they were a bit dry. It is packed with flavor but I would've liked it a little less dry. Calamari was great. The batter was light yet crispy to the bite. Sauce was tarty and light. Other than that, they have a full bar with a very rich wine selection. Depending on your seat, you may get a beautiful backdrop of the Huachuca mountains.

Came here last weekend with a bunch of classmates and it was a great experience. It's a great little place and is decorated and built amazing. The service was top notch and we got to meet the owner and she was really great. I got the calzone. I asked her how big it was and she was telling me it was about a foot long. I didn't believe her until it came out. Seriously?! It was great though and the price was amazing. There was a decent filling to bread ratio so I wasn't disappointed. I'll definitely be headed back here next time I'm in Arizona :)

New to town and someone told us about their great happy hour. But it was Saturday and we had that rare craving for pasta. Their gnocchi was cooked to perfection and swimming in a salty cheesy sauce, I wanted a straw to slurp it all up with. My only problem was when we received the bill. It would've been nice to be informed that there were no free refill on the lemonade instead of being asked if I wanted more. Would I go back, maybe, but I'll stick to wine.

I have eaten at Pizzeria Mimosa four times. This restaurant is the best pizza/Italian restaurant in the Sierra Vista area. The Margarita pizza and the Eliseo pizza with wood roasted Italian sausage and mushrooms are delicious. The ice tea actually tastes like fresh brewed tea. My only complaint is that I suggest that they put something under the pizza crust so it doesn't get soggy. Other restaurants put a piece of parchment paper or something to absorb the extra moisture or serve on a different kind of pan. If it wasn't for the soggy crust I would give this restaurant a better rating. The service has been good and my server gave me suggestions on the best way to reheat my leftovers. Hopefully, the manager reads these reviews and takes some of the suggestions.

Stopped in here after a nice ride around Tombstone and Sierra Vista. Originally I wanted the Meatball sliders, but apparently they only have these available during happy hour - no mention of this on the menu. I got the Parma Panini (which is a Parmesan chicken panini). The others in our group got paninis as well. We all enjoyed our lunch. Service was a bit spotty, but was prompt when we asked for things. We got the chips with our paninis and they were very good and they came with a little cheese on them when made them taste a little better.

I loved this place the first two times I went. Pizza was amazing, service was great, the whole experience was awesome. Then last night I tried to get a carry out order... With friends coming in from out of town, I called the order in and said I'd be there in about 20 minutes. When I arrived, 20 minutes later, I was advised that the owner had determined that the pizzas should not be made until I arrived. So there I sat. 30 minutes later, I saw my pizza finally sitting on the prep counter, still not fired. In their defense, the staff seemed really embarrassed and were very kind. However, the owner came out and the only acknowledgement I got was "Hey, we just wanted them to be really fresh." So in the end, I was an entire hour late, and my visiting friends sat outside my locked home waiting for me. This was the last time I'd see them for longer than I'd care to think about, so thanks to the management for letting me stand at your pickup counter for an hour instead of being with the people I won't see again for who knows how long. I don't know if it was the bad taste in my mouth from the owner's lame behavior, or if the pizza was actually this weak, but of the three times I've been, this was the poorest food quality I'd experienced as well. The gelato was covered in ice, pizzas were sub par. Was my favorite place in town. Won't be back.

Our favorite restaurant in Sierra Vista! We've been their three times now. The food is as good as anything my wife and I have had back east. We've frequent New York City down through Baltimore and I cannot think of a place we've been that is any better than this. But I would spend much more money in the East coast Italian places. The service has always just enough; rushed and never too slow. All of our wait staff have been friendly. The aesthetics are pretty good too. The place appears new and the decorations are tasteful. I will be going back again.

Everytime I have come to mimosas to eat I have never had an issue until mothers day today when my mother, grandmother and I came for lunch. We were seated outside on the patio and all of a sudden two groups of people were seated on the patio and they both had dogs with them and they were NOT service dogs. Yes the dogs were behaved and it was outside but it is still a restaurant. And to hear that the manager allows them is appalling!! I love animals dogs especially but i know bringing my dog to a restaurant is unacceptable. People might have allergies to dogs or are afraid of dogs. And you never know with dogs what could set them off and endanger people. Very disappointed that the dogs seemed to get better service than the people. And my family and i did not appreciate how inappropriately and inappropriately being the nice word how the hosts were dressed. One of them had a dress on so short when she leaned over to give a table silverware I came pretty close to seeing up her dress. Not sure we will be returning after this mother's day experience.

One of a kind in the greater Sierra Vista area. You will forget where you are as soon as you step inside. The ambiance is slightly better than any other restaurant within 75 miles and offers the best pizza among other things in the area. The kitchen is open air, the staff wear white Italian style uniforms and the menu has many offerings. Upon arriving we were served oven fired bread with olive oil and spices. A good indication there was a brick oven in house. We ordered calamari for the table, which at first I had low expectations of. To my surprise it was very nicely prepared. Hot, light, crispy beading, fresh and a tender squid. I've had a lot of calamari, and in coastal areas around the globe. While not the #1, it was very good and I would suggest it to anyone. I'm particular about pizza dough, as I've developed my own to emulate Neapolitan style pizza. I went straight to the margherita pizza, and felt like adding some pancetta. Others at the table ordered calzones and two different pasta dishes. My pizza was served hot. The dough, while good when compared to most American pizzerias, was not quite done enough on the bottom. Maybe it needed an extra minute on the bricks. The sauce was simple and sparingly applied. They used chunks of mozzarella, allowing them to melt and spread themselves out as opposed to shredded cheese. Taste was great. The calzones were large and looked as if they had plenty of stuffing. The lasagna looked great as well as the other linguine based pasta dish. My only comment was the pasta dish looked like an awfully small portion. In sure it was not small on terms of calories!! I recommend taking the time to try this place. I've decided to give Pizzeria Mimosa a 5 star rating as it is the best in Sierra vista area on several fronts.

If you want good authentic Italian food, you won't be disappointed. I love the drinks, appetizers, food, and even dessert. I wish the menu was more extensive because I have tried almost everything on the menu. Make sure you make reservations because everyone wants to eat here on the weekends. You may wait a little while but it will be worth it.

Excellent food, nice ambiance and exceptional service. The espresso and blood orange gelato are to die for. A very pleasant dining experience.

This was my third or fourth time eating here. I have had good experiences in the past so I thought I would bring my mother during her visit from Atlanta. We were VERY DISAPPOINTED!! The Cesar salad was dry lettuce with hardly any dressing. We asked for more dressing and it tasted like garlic mayo! My white sangria tastes like flat fruit water. My mother ordered the penne with arabita (spicy) sauce and pancetta, prego could have made a better sauce! It was not spicy at all!! The pancetta was all fat!! Gross. I ordered the chicken in a lemon white wine caper berry sauce. The chicken was over cooked and the sauce had very little lemon taste to it and was sweet!! I thought capers=salty, not sweet!! I was jut very disappointed in our meal over all. I was excited to show my mom that Hereford had good food.I guess I was wrong and a little embarrassed. It will be a while before we come back.

We have had reason to visit the Sierra Vista area several times over the past year, and always found it difficult to find a restaurant where we can relax and enjoy a good meal. On our most recent visit we got a tip about Pizzeria Mimosa: Phew! We test any Italian restaurant by ordering the Calamari Fritti and were not disappointed at Mimosa! We had a cheerful and helpful waitress who accommodated a special order, and had just the right level of attentiveness without interfering. We visited this place twice in one 3 day weekend! So that should tell you about the quality of this place. We've lived in all the best foodie cities - San Francisco, NYC, and now Chicago, and if we go out to eat, we want good food, so for the Sierra Vista area, we're thrilled to have a place that offers us just what we want! We'll be back again...

I feel like I should write two separate reviews for this place. I went twice in as many days and had drastically different experiences. Here's the breakdown. Day One: FOUR STARS! -The situation/service: I went to have lunch with a group of friends, five of us in total. It took a second for us to be seated, but once we were, we were promptly greeted by our friendly server. Drinks were quickly brought, orders taken, bread delivered. I was surprised that for a table of five they only brought one very small container of oil with a super small amount for five adults to dip bread in, but we made it work...we knew we had lunch coming. Lunch arrived in good time and everyone was happy. Dessert came quickly after the food was finished and the coffee was fresh brewed. The brewing meant we did have to wait, but what can you do. The only disappointment was that, despite all three of us girls asking for cream, only two little packages were brought. And when more was requested, only two additional ones were brought...three adults, three coffees, four creamer? We won't open it and pour it out onto the table...it's pre-packaged...bring us more! If we don't use it, you'll get it back. Overall, service was a 4. -The food: The three girls got the lunch special, which is a choice of options for four courses. Salad, appetizer, main and dessert. I got the mista salad, which was a lovely handful of greens and a few tomatoes in a vinagrette; the calamari, which was plentiful but really really lacked seasoning...no salt, no pepper...thankfully it came with really good dipping sauces, which saved it; the pompii panini, roasted veggies and cheese, which was pretty tasty; and the tiramisu. The desserts we ordered were all different and we passed them around the table. Tiramisu was creamy and delicious, with a hidden treasure trove of chocolate chips at the bottom; the panna cotta was tart and delicious; the canolli was crisp, creamy and quite tasty. We honestly couldn't pic a favorite. The boys in our party both ordered the Mardi Gras Trio, which was a special, since it was the day before Fat Tuesday when we went. They both received Jambalaya, Gumbo and Ettouffe, along with bread, which they stated was delicious. They cleaned their plates, which was no easy task...they were very happy. Overall, food was a 4. Day Two: ZERO STARS!!! (Or one, I guess, if I have to give them one...grr) -The situation: I had told my mom about the Mardi Gras trio. She said that my incredibly finicky Gramps LOVES gumbo and would absolutely adore having some for lunch. Plus it was Fat Tuesday...what could be more appropriate? I had been so happy with lunch the day before, I was excited to go back and try their pizza. So we bundled him up and made our way out to Mimosas, excited at the prospect of pizza and a happy old man. We walked in and went over to the to-go window to order. They don't keep menus over there, so we had to grab our own (God forbid anyone help us). After looking over the pizzas, we selected two that sounded super tasty and placed our order. The Trio was still listed on their chalkboard as a special. The girl helping us placed our order, swiped our card and was then informed that the special had been 86'd. No one had told her. No one had taken it off the board. Nothing. We asked if maybe they had any gumbo or jambalaya in the back, if we could just have that. One of the cooks went back, but came back up to say it was a no-go. Now that we were going to have to go somewhere else, we decided we would just cancel the whole order...at the end of the day, we were there for the gumbo. We clearly stated that we wanted to cancel the entire order, but apparently our server took this to mean we didn't want the Trio, put it into the computer and called a manager. We stood, patiently waiting, completely ignored while the manager came out and punched in his codes. The girl was nowhere to be seen. We were not acknowledged until she returned five minutes later to tell us that our total was now $36 or whatever for the pizzas. We were shocked...we said cancel the whole order. She thought we had just meant to cancel the Trio...how can we CANCEL what you don't have to give us?! Did you think we were going to PAY for something you couldn't provide?! Honestly. And when she got the manager back, he once again ignored us as he cancelled the order, shrugged to the poor guy who was making our pizzas, since the girl hadn't told him not to, and walked away. Not a word to us. Not a glance in our direction. And we waited until the server girl had come back, to make sure everything was in order. Instead of a polite "sorry about that ladies, here is your receipt", she just said "did you need something?". Ugh. Zero stars. Negative two stars. I'm glad that I don't have to stay in Sierra Vista...i would get mad every time I had to drive past this place. I'm going with two stars...painfully. Caveat emptor.

Went for Sunday brunch, as if heard they had a Bloody Mary bar. It was pre mixed, and all the fixings were there for you to do yourself.. Didn't like it, as a good Bloody Mary needs to be shaken. Brunch was smoked salmon and eggs: bad choice.. Served with a luke warm potato thing.. Service was very good, which is the save that might bring me back; but, I'll stick with Italian standards, as everyone says it's excellent.. Beautiful dining room and bar area..

Great service and amazing pizza!! I had the margarita pizza, my husband had Emilio pizza (sausage, ricotta, mushrooms), and my son had pasta alfredo. All were excellent. Service was quick and friendly.

We had a couple of missteps when we first arrived at the restaurant however we never expected the reaction we got from the server, "what's wrong now?" Starting at the beginning, there is a friendly greeter at the front and we were seated promptly. Our server came right over and ask us what we wanted for drinks and we said may we have a moment, then someone brought bread over, the server appeared we ask her a couple of questions about the wine, made our selection and proceeded to wait. The focaccia bread was served cold like it just came out of the refrigerator and not the oven. The two of us ordered a glass of wine however the server brought out a bottle and opened. Totally our fault, we should have said something quicker but when we did she argued that the wine was only sold by the bottle. ( it was not ) Next, I ordered an appetizer and specifically asked to take time and not rush bringing out the food. One bite and the runner appears with the entrees. Basically there was a breakdown in communication that led to a less than desirable evening. It would have helped if the server acted like she cared about customer service. She went to get the manager but he never came by the table. The food was average but the gelato excellent.

Food is getting better. However, the service is nothing to write home about. This is the biggest issue every. single. time we visit the restaurant. We've timed drink orders each time- They are averaging 15 minutes. Then, the drinks are often under filled. This is enough to deter us from coming again.

Well, we (wife and I) been to this place a few times and most recently (2 Oct 2013) we enjoyed an evening out together. Overall its not bad, this is one of the better places to enjoy an evening out. Onto our visit, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly, middle of the week not very busy. Other times we have been here very very busy...maybe its the shutdown of the government too. We had a nice quaint table and our waitress was on point with asking our drink order and made some wine suggestions and we were given tastings of the wines we were interested in. We settled on a medium dry red and i had the dark Italian draft beer. Which by the way was just refreshing. We opened the meal with the baked feta cheese that was floating on to of some marinara sauce. The sauce over powered this delicate cheese. Should have gotten cheese sticks....not a very good dish. Our meal consisted of the gnocchi with gorgonzola and prosciutto cream sauce peppered with mushrooms. The other plate was basically spaghetti and meatballs...they used some cool Italian sounding name. Again the service was fantastic. Now you know what we ordered, my gnocchi had great flavor, but was very heavy...it felt to my taste buds and stomach that the dumplings were heavy laden with water. The smokiness of the sauce was prominent due to the tasty prosciutto. The other dish looked very appetizing and lovely, as soon as we cut into the meatball, which is gigantic by the way, it was cool or more like room temperature. Either the dish sat to long or the meal was hastily assembled from the frig. Lastly, we brought home a wood fired pizza for my daughter and she loved it. The pizza here is truly their strength. Overall, we had a great time together and we would eagerly go again. We shared our thoughts with the waitress and she passed them along to the manager. Which I hope they take a look at their processes.

I took my family including two young ones to dinner at Pizzeria Mimosa. Mind you we were all starving and probably would have eaten a dead dog. We were promptly seated at a table for seven in our party. We were brought our menus and asked for a beverage order. My daughter in law and I decided on a carafe of Sangria. The rest ordered Italian sodas. The Sangria arrived and what it consisted of was a wine glass full of ice and some sliced oranges and cherries. The carafe was full of plain red wine. The drinks were very tiny bottles and tasted as if they had a diet sweetener in them. Which they did. So my mother ordered a Sprite. We ordered an antipasto which consisted of a pile of chunks of who knows what? It was not very pleasant to the eye and there was no flavor. The mushrooms were leathery textured and the artichokes? did not have any flavor.. There were four rolled up salami and prosciutto, and some triangular cut Parmesan cheese. Also a small bowl of both green and red olives. Included in the olives was a dead spider. We also were served a round loaf of bread which looked and tasted like the dough they use for the pizza. It had some oil brushed over the top. With it was a bowl of flavored oil? I don't know because I did not taste anything but the oil. My daughter in law and I ordered a Margherita Pizza. My mother ordered a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs. My niece ordered a child sized cheese pizza, and the children had child sized pepperoni pizza and mac n'cheese. My son ordered a calzone. The children's orders arrived first. The pepperoni pizza looked and tasted pretty good. the Mac n' cheese, made with Zitti pasta and white cheese was great to an adult, but you know children.. they expect the elbow pasta and cheddar cheese. This is a four year old we are talking about. She did however manage to eat most of it. The cheese pizza was very greasy and soggy in the center. The dough was good. My mother said her meatballs tasted like they were frozen meatballs. I tried one and she was right. They were very mushy. The pasta was fat spaghetti noodles. Our Margherita pizza finally came out. It had an extremely thin crust. Unfortunately it was soooo soggy! We couldn't even pick it up with out it flapping and dropping the toppings. Not too pleased with the flavor either. Nothing like any Margherita pizza I ever tasted. The server who was very attentive took our complaints seriously and asked if we would like to speak to the manager. I said yes. So along comes the manager/owner. When we told her what our complaints were. She went on to find an excuse for everything. According to her. We should count our lucky stars that the pizza we got was so authentic. Because in Italy the pizza is soggy like that and they eat it by rolling it up like a burrito or folding it. Never knew that. I was ruined by Peter Piper Pizza she claimed. Then when the spider was brought up, she smiled and said it probably came in the olives. That we were so fortunate to have a spider that came from an olive tree in Italy!! In the meantime my daughter had called and asked me to bring her some bread . So I asked the owner if they sold the bread and she flat out said. We are out! Our cook is up at 4 am every morning making the bread and they don't have enough. That's strange because while we were waiting to be seated, the chef was pulling loaves of bread out of the oven. I took a photograph. Our server was shocked at what we were told, by the owner. She then proceeded to sell us some bread and the cook took the pizza off of our bill. This lady could have a goldmine there, she needs to not take complaints personally and take it as an opportunity to grow and improve. I sure hope if there are partners in this business they read this and have a meeting with her.

After birdwatching in the Huachuca Mountains, I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy sphagetti and meatballs at this warm, friendly nicely decorated bistro. I had just eaten the same dish in Little Italy on Mulberry St. in New York City and yes, this was better! Well seasoned and just the right proportion of sphagetti, not too much and not too little and served at just the right temperature. I had the vanilla gelato for dessert and it was the perfect complement. The waitress was friendly and personable and service prompt.

Gee, Vicki Gilbert, you need to step up your game. Quality food should suggest quality service. My wife said there is a great pizza place in Hereford, LET'S go there. So we went. I walked in and was seated at a booth which had left over crumbs from the previous guest. And the crumbs were covering the seat. So I asked for the owner to come speak to me, and Vicki came over. She said she would speak to the staff. My wife and I both ordered pizza (great pizza, BTW), but mine didn't have the anchovies I ordered. Evidently the server forgot to accommodate my request for anchovies. Food was great, excellent quality food, but bad service. I spent over $80 for our meal, so I was expecting some quality service. That was two weeks ago. I want to give the restaurant the benefit of a doubt and thought it may have been an off night. So I took my wife again to this place. And the service was worse than the last time. We waited over a half hour before we saw our server for the second time. I ended up asking for dinnerware, appetizer plates, etc. Why should I have to ask for forks, napkins, water, etc. Hey but the food is great. And again I dropped another $80 for dinner for two. But if I could only get quality service with the quality food. Vicki, step up your service to match your great food!

I would say this is a pretty good place to eat! Beautiful decor, dark hardwood furniture, nice layout and yellow flowers on every table really popped. Open kitchen concept, nice patios with great views, calming music playing in the background. This is a great date restaurant. We were seated on the back patio (our choice) and it was delightful. Didn't even look at the wine menu. I should have but needed to detox from the night before and didn't want to be tempted. We each ordered a pizza. They are all standard size (12 inches). One person could eat the whole thing if they are hungry. Crust is very good. These are more authentic Italian type pizzas with fresh ingredients, not like Pizza Hut so prepared if you're expecting that. The toppings were of a good portion and the flavors were delicious. We had very good service. This was our first time here and I would go again and try something else. It's nice to see some upscale dining coming into the Cochise County area. This restaurant could easily compare with Cafe Roka. A little pricey. Pizza's are $13-16 each. They have a little wine/olive oil/ store in the front of the restaurant. Some really nice Italian wines for that special occasion. Mangia, Mangia!

They're adding a banquet room for large parties! Unfortunately it's location obscures the view some but there are plenty of views to be had here, good food is ahrder to find by far.

Where to start...the hostees had us up next buy 2 other individuals walked in and they decided to seat them. Asked if we wanted to sit in bar table area agreed, this is terrible idea the tables tiny for two people everything crowded. There was open seating in restaurant area. Sat for ten minutes before drink order. Had to flag down waitress to ask her to be our waitress. She said sure but quickly ran off, had to flag down waiter. He took out from and food order bought us water. A few minutes later the waitress flagged down brought water, told her she took too long and we have a waiter already. The manager(?) was there for both events but never apologized, she then came and spoke to some of her "friends" that were seated next to us for over 15 minutes. Still no apology for service. The food does not make up for poor management...will not dine here again. This is based on food and service, if it was good food I can deal with poor service but not both.

This is a totally unexpected establishment considering its location. The name, Pizzeria Mimosa, would lead you to believe it's just a pizza joint. They make (good) pizza there, but it's a full service dining room. On a Friday night the place was packed but we were seated right away. From the hostess to the waitress and the person who delivered the meal the service was very good. We did decide to split a calzone and it was plenty for the two of us. And while the taste and presentation was excellent, here's my complaint - it wasn't hot. They start you our with some bread brushed with oil and some oil for dipping - it was cold, not even warm. The calzone came quickly, and from my field of view I could see it didn't sit on the shelf long. But at best I could describe it as warm, both the contents and the sauce over the top. At this point I should have sent it back but they were busy, it was late, and we were hungry. It's interesting, because it was not undercooked but it must have sat somewhere for a while to cool down. Would I go back? Yes.

Now this place is awesome! There is something about being in a restaurant near the base of the mountain and being able to watch the sunset over dinner. The atmosphere is perfect. You can go in casual, or if you want to get dressed up for the night with your significant other, it wouldn't be a bad thing either. You have an open kitchen that reveals the magical brick oven. The pizza is as fresh as you can get. With hand tossed dough, fresh vegetables, smooth mozzarella, and a thin crust it is definitely worth the trip out. Other than pizza, pasta dishes and entrees that are very flavorful and plentiful for the price. They have a full bar, so drinks and wines are readily available. And one of our favorite things on the menu.....appetizer.....Arancini. Try that and you will not be disappointed. As for desserts, not bad. The gelato you can pick up in Fry's or Walmart, but they did introduce us to it so no shame on them. Also, if you feel like splurging you can hit up the shop in the front for olive oils, balsamic, pastas, wines. So a definite recommend if you are in the area.

I'm so happy our friends introduced this locals' favorite to us. This restaurant is a new build and the interior is very clean and modern. The decor is pleasant and not cliche. We made reservations for our group because it was a Friday. The service was great. We were seated right away. The bread they brought out in the beginning was delicious. Flat bread crisped on top accompanied with olive oil and balsamic to dip. We had calamari as an appetizer, which was just okay. There was too much crunchy breading and not enough calamari. (It may have been panko.) Most of us had the pizza, which was delicious. Thin crust and lots of fresh toppings! They are all sized individually, but you could certainly share. The kids pizza has a thicker crust and is huge, in my opinion, for a child. My fiance had the tiramisu for dessert. The kids had spumoni (an ice cream dessert) and chocolate cake. All of it was sinfully delicious. They also have a wine and beer shop in front that have reasonable prices. We will definitely be back!

I had dinner here with my Hubby and best girlfriend last Saturday night. Our experience was delightful. I wasn't impressed with the bottles of wine we ordered though. The food was great! I had the eggplant parmesan. It sooo good. My besty ordered pizza which I was also impressed with. My Hubby ordered the lasagna. He liked it, but I liked my entree a lot better. The ambiance was great and our waitress was outstanding. She always made sure we were taken care of. I'm excited that now when I go visit my parents in Sierra Vista, I can go to a nice Italian restaurant and have an exceptional meal while enjoying my family and friends.

Very nice wood fire pizza in Italian style. Had some good beers on tap too. The price was not bad and the atmosphere was pleasant with the outside covered patio with fans/heaters. Great surprise outside Sierra Vista.

Little did I know there was a casual, funky, modern place just a few miles outside of Sierra Vista.... Pizzaria Mimosa! It felt like CPK's long lost twin. Like they might be genetically the same. But Pizzaria Mimosa was raised in Italy then years later, the doctors realized their mistake. She was brought back to America, where she spent the rest of her life but always exhibited a little Italian flair. Anyway... they are very busy and thus, the service suffers. Food and drinks were so good that I'd go again. There's food and drink specials during happy hour. Be prepared to wait. You can call in before arriving if you're unable to make a reservation. We did that and still had to wait 30 minutes for a table of four. A waitress walks around taking drink orders from those waiting and there's a little shop to browse as well. They sell wine, liquor and imported Italian pasta, oils, etc. Drinks were excellent. I liked the Tuscan Sun (limoncello, citrus vodka and basil) the best. It was very refreshing. The peach bellini, a house special, was good but you could probably find that elsewhere. Bread was served with a tiny little dish of olive oil. I used most of it up with one slice of bread. It's so busy that it's hard to flag someone down. Pizza was great. You can see the guys tossing the dough behind the counter. The Tagliata (a NY strip steak) was exceptional. Spaghetti with meat sauce was also good comfort food but nothing to write home about.

Had to check out this placed based on Yelp reviews and IRL hype. As with any new place in this area, we tend to flock. Review is based on take out only. Called in our order and was told about half and hour. Drove out from S.V. about 10m after placing it and arrived while they were prepping the bag. The place was very clean and new. Not too crowded. I personally enjoyed the pizza/calzone. The family on other hand, not so much. Still believe that Screaming Banshee has the best pizza around, but this is a close second...also a bit on the pricey side. Will definitely come back and give the dining-in experience a try and update review.

I had reservations about coming here, mainly due to a bad experience my had previously had. To put it briefly, I was very pleasantly surprised. We were seated very quickly (arriving just after 5:30PM) and our drinks and starter order was also fairly quick. About this point the place started to fill up and I thought that our service was about to get really slow and it did to a small degree but really nothing I would complain about. We started with the calamari which was some of the better calamari I've had let alone in Sierra Vista. We also had the Burrata which taken straight from their menu is "Fresh Handcrafted Mozzarella Filled with Cream, Estate Olive Oil, Sea Salt and Bruschetta". This thing was awesome. For dinner we tried a couple of the pizzas; the Dante which was my favorite of the bunch, the Emilia which was also pretty good, and the Eliseo which was also pretty good. A decent Tiramisu rounded off this great meal and I went home full and happy. I'll be sure to come again and recommend it to anyone who wants a great pizza in town.

  • Evan S.

Mimosas is a jewel in the area with potential to only get better. While I did not have their pizza the burrata appetizers was tasty and creamy and the Mushroom Polenta entree was large enough to make my belly happy. The restaurant as new restaurants in the area tend to be was swamped and while I did not have to wait for a table, the service and time to get my dinner was exceptionally long. I hope that the kinks are worked out soon and this place continues to live up to the growing hype.

Wow. Just Wow. I've been to Naples and this is as close to Neapolitan pizza as you are going to get. Remember, eat it with a knife and fork like real Italians do at sit down restaurants. The Casanova, Verdure, Monument and Mimosa are my favs. Also great is the arancini appetizer. Never had anything like that. They have a lot of specials. I get them from their facebook page. So far I've had their Alaskan king crab linguine in brandy cream sauce. Oh dear lord. Awesome. This is a great place, owned by local residents, who have outsourced ingredients from Italy. This is my first choice for Italian food in the Greater Sierra Vista Metropolitan Area.

I really believe this is the best place in town. We've only eaten here a few times (about 6) but the service and food have always been awesome (a rarity in Sierra Vista). We have tried something different each time and have yet to be disappointed.

  • Cari H.

I've been twice and although the food is very good (4-5 stars), the slow service and mistakes with orders prompt me to give only 3 stars. As far as restaurants in Sierra Vista go, this is one of the best. But, when the other top places are mass chains like Olive Garden and Texas Roadhouse... that's not saying much. (unless you consider Olive Garden top-of-the-line... then this might not be the review for you, sorry.) Atmosphere: modern, elegant, mountain chic. Huge windows along the back of the restaurant give those seats (and most of the restaurant) beautiful views of the mountains and allow for tons of natural light. The ceiling is a very cool bronze/tin pattern. The seating arrangement doesn't feel too crowded or cramped, though it certainly isn't open and spacious. Food: The table bread is usually EXCELLENT. The sourdough is ok, but the foccacia is delish. For entrees, we've had their chicken with lemon caperberry sauce, the Casanova pizza (omg, delish), and, in this most recent visit, the salmon. While the other dishes were very good, they took a long time. The Salmon came CHARRED and after my husband made me send it back... everyone else had finished eating and we were still waiting for my salmon. I asked for it "to go". The waitress apologized and graciously gave us a free dessert. When we finally got home with our food, it was SO dry and over cooked. I love salmon and order it nearly every place I go, but this wasn't edible. I'm so sorry to say that because everything else here is good. Service: Like I said, I've only been twice. Once right after they opened (Feb 2012) and once this past week (May 2012). The first time, it was not busy but our waitress seemed to forget about us and we rarely saw her. This time, our waitress (diff gal) was very nice, very apologetic about the meal mistake, and did a nice job. There may have been some additional training or perhaps they've just weeded out the less efficient staff members by now. I'd go again, but only because SV is bereft of decent restaurants.

My husband and I came here for dinner on Easter and really enjoyed it. The wait staff was friendly and courteous, the food was exceptional....probably the best we've had in the two years we've been in Sierra Vista. After dinner, we checked out the "deli" hoping to find their hot salame. Unfortunately, they make it themselves in small batches and do not sell it for take out. That was a small disappointment but didn't diminish our happiness at finally finding a place that served good food in a very nice atmosphere!

Food is excellent, atmosphere is good. We've been twice now and have had terrible service both times. Wait staff both times were unfamiliar with the menu. If you're going to work in an Italian restaurant, be able to pronounce common items like gnocchi or Chianti. Our first visit we did not get our appetizer at all. This second visit, we were not told of the specials, salads arrived at the same time as the appetizer, very slow service.

We went to pizzeria mimosa for the first time about a week ago. I debated giving this place 4 stars, but went with 3 instead. If I try it again and my experience is better I will probably up the stars. I would definitely recommend it as one of the better places in that area, though! The restaurant itself is very nice, especially for Sierra Vista/Hereford standards. There is a little shop at the front where you can buy different Italian groceries, wine, and other beverages. There is plenty of seating and the chairs/tables were comfortable. Our order was taken quickly, but it took an hour and a half to get our pizza after we ordered. When we got to the restaurant, it was somewhat busy. We did have to wait a few minutes for a seat. But it was getting later in the evening and when we sat down other tables were leaving. By the time our pizza came, we were one of only a few tables left in the entire restaurant. The pizza was delicious. Pretty good Neapolitan style pizza. Though, I was disappointed that the margherita pizza which has a description of "Crushed tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, and parmigiano reggiano" Only had one tiny little basil leaf in the center of the pizza. Even the pizzas on their website have more than that. It still tasted great, but it was missing the basil. I would have asked for more to be added (though service was already so slow!) or put on arugula had I known it would only be one small leaf. For dessert our table ordered the Nutella pizza. We all LOVE nutella so we were very excited for this. Though, when it came to the table and we dug in, it tasted mostly like chocolate sauce, not nutella. It was pretty obvious that any nutella that started in the recipe had been watered down with a regular chocolate sauce. That being said, it was still very good and I would order it again (bananas on it were awesome). It's just, if you are expecting the nutella taste to really come through in this dessert pizza, you will be disappointed. All in all, definitely the best place in Sierra Vista to get pizza if you don't feel like making a trek out to Bisbee for Screaming Banshee (my personal favorite) or Bella Roma.

Great pizza! I had the Casanova and was happy with price, portion size and flavor. We were there with a large group last Thursday and were seated in the private room, which was nice. However, it was far from the bar and drinks were quite slow to come. Also, they use bottled soda and the first one I received tasted kind of flat. I didn't complain thought. The fire pit on the patio is a nice touch with a great view of the mountains.

Can't speak highly enough about their pizzas - authentic Italian style and SO amazing. They also sell their dough to go for those of us that like to make pizza at home. Great ambiance, views and service. Thumbs way up!

If you are looking for a cheap pizza, don't come here. If you are looking for a great pizza, don't go anywhere else. Pizzeria Mimosa is expensive, especially for my family of seen after they killed off their 30" pie, but it tastes so good, a little pricier doesn't really matter. The service was good, the food was quite tasty, and even thought the price was too high for a family of seven, I'd recommend trying it. I just can't afford to go back very often.

This review truly sucks to write. My wife and I have been stationed at Ft Huachuca for about 2 years now. In that 2 years Mimosa was the ONLY decent place in this rather dreary town to eat well. I have no idea what happened recently but we had not been in for almost 3 months "Compared to almost weekly visits prior" as we just have been either too busy or in just too much of a rush to drive out there but the food has changed. I went last night and let me tell you, the food is now CRAP. I don't know if they changed chefs, recipes or what but everything was different. I ordered the crab pasta special..... It was basically way overcooked crab slathered in way too much butter over pasta. No flavor, over cooked crab, no real cream in the "Sauce" as they called it. For $21 I expected a decent helping of pasta and a rather decent flavor. I was shocked at the level of garbage we received. I pulled another waitress aside and asked her to get my waitress, she asked if everything was ok and I told her what was wrong. She replied there have been allot of complaints lately and she would get the manager as well as my server. The manager never came, the server though was very apologetic even though it was not her fault. She removed the offending trash and asked if I would like to order something else. I usually like the Gnocchi with cream sauce so I order this instead.... WTF, it tasted like the same cream dried beef they serve in the Military chow hall. Literally, cream dried beef over Italian Gnocchi. My wifes meal as well as my brothers were left almost untouched when we paid and left. We didnt even want to take it home for our dogs. We have met the owner before, he was a really nice guy and seemed to care about the customers and restaurant. The staff is pleasant, but the food now sucks. I have heard from friends it has been that way lately. I don't know what the change is, but it needs to be undone.

Place is ok. Too pricey for my family and not a place where I would want to go to right away. Food was mediocre. Pizza was not juicy and tasty. It was doughy, thin, and under seasoned, no cheese at all either. Was not impressed.

While my first review of this place was written early in their growth, I still stick by my first review. Not to say that I don't reserve the right to say the my last experience was about 180 degrees from my first 3 experiences. I gave this place another shot as I had promised and I am happy to report that the kinks are getting worked out. The drinks were good, the food was delicious, and the service was much better. I'm happy to see this place making a mark for themselves on the Sierra Vista/Hereford map.

This place is the nicest restaurant in the area. Not really saying much though if you know the area. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is a good place to gather a few friends. However, just because it's the nicest place in the area does not mean they can charge obnoxious prices for food and drinks. The quality of the food was fair at best. I've had way better food at places in Sierra Vista that had a third of the atmosphere and at a third of the cost.

Just finished my third pizza from Pizzeria Mimosa so know I feel like I can write an accurate review. The place is GREAT however, if you are expecting New York style pizza don't stop here! The pizza is extremely traditional down to the oven they bake it in. I have tried three different dishes and I keep coming back with the excitement of trying more things. The kids meals are plentiful and my husband likes it as well. This was just what the area needed. A break in the norm. Will continue to go back...run and tell that!

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent atmosphere. I took my wife here, with some friends, for her birthday. I couldn't believe that a restaurant this good existed all the way out here. The quality of the food was amazing. We all sampled each others meals and every one was delicious. The flavor....the FLAVOR!! The staff were very friendly and the owner even came to the table and told me how to make my very own brick pizza oven. I can't wait to go back!!

About as good as it gets in Sierra Vista. Love to go with my wife and get dinner here. Hope they are around for a while. I really enjoyed the new expansion in the back. Will be nice once weather warms up again. I loved my Nuttela Pizza.

I really want to like this place, but the bloom is off the rose. Well, the food is fantastic, but the quality of the service diminishes every time we go back. Nice place, with gorgeous views of the mountains. As a person of Sicilian heritage, I am impressed with what comes out of the kitchen. But, the servers.... I don't know why it has to be this way. Lethargic, slow, disinterested. Our most recent visit was a quick stop for lunch. The place was not busy, but our server was mostly absent. We each ordered a glass of wine, that appeared about 10 minutes later. Then we ordered our entrees, simple panini sandwiches. Our meals took more than 30 minutes to come out. The server finally let us know about 25 minutes into the wait that it should be any time. We were almost finished eating when she came to check on us. I went to use the rest room, and there was a gaggle of servers hanging out and talking. I would have ordered dessert, but I didn't want to wait again.

Top notch food, absolutely excellent. Moving here from the east coast, I've had zero luck finding any decent restaurant, let alone authentic Italian pizza--until I found this desert gem. It blew me away. The desserts were decadent, as well. Enjoy!

Initial contact with server was slow and then rhe food came fast. We did not have time to finish our wonderful salads before the food came out. Our dinners were great, loved the pasta and meatballs, lasanga and eggplant best ever. Finish your meal with gelato. One bowl is enough to share! They made homemade limoncello for drinks!

Visiting Sierra Vista for the Easter Weekend my sister wanted to take us someplace nice so she made reservations at Mimosa's. The restaurant is beautiful and we were seated right away. We ordered bruschetta for starters presentation was nice but the toast was mush and the artichoke paste on one the pieces was reminiscent of baby food. The salad wasn't bad fresh greens and tomatoes but the dressing was so so. We had the kids with us and we ordered Mac and cheese and the kids gnocchi. The Mac and cheese was a plate of pasta in milk with big clumps of congealed cheese needless to say yuck was the first thing out of my niece's mouth. The gnocchi which is a potato dumpling turned out to be semolina pasta shaped like gnocchi. When we asked the waitress about she said that they have had some trouble perfecting the recipe so the chef switched to this pasta. Seems to me if you aren't actually going to serve gnocchi you should change the menu. Several other customers remarked on this while we were there. The margarita pizza crust was good but there were 3 Basil leaves in the middle of the pizza and the amount if grease pouring off the pizza effectively ruined the crust. I forgot to mention the bread they serve at the beginning of our meal was great when dipped with they side of olive oil. To bad the longer we were at the resturant the longer I noticed the waitresses cutting the bread would hold it down with there bare hands. Sure hope they washed their hands after handling money yum. The waitress waiting on us was very nice and friendly but the drunk owner who kept trying to hug me and touch my husband as we were leaving was a little too much. Sorry mimosa we won't be back.

i came here for my bday and when my mother in law was in town. two completely different dining experiences. but both on a sunday night. the food is so freaking good here, i didn't even care that we got crappy service for my bday. my first experience, they put us at a table with no settings, we had a different server come to our table every singe time, our drinks and food and appetizer took forever, luckily we were there with good company or else i would've complained. my second experience was totally different. we had bread, our glasses were always full, the waitress gave suggestions, she offered a high chair, made small talk, the food came out super quick. when you come here please get the spideini as an appetizer and the gnocchi as your entree, you will thank me. :) ooh, and order two orders for lunch the next day!

EDITED ON 12/27/2012: After the previous issues we have had with Mimosa, I recently received a personal phone call from the owner apologizing for what had happened. The truth is, the food is great and there is truly only ONE employee there that seems to be an issue. The owner assured me he would speak to her after I gave him further details on what happened (considerably more than I posted in my original review). I respect the fact that the owner took the time to try to fix the situation. My husband and I have been faithful customers since the day Mimosa opened. On average, we order once a week... He has ordered the SAME EXACT pizza every single time. Margherita pizza, double pepperoni, no basil (he has a strong aversion to basil). Several times the order has been messed up (including the basil) but we have continued to go because we love the food. Tonight, when we opened the pizza after we got home, it was covered in basil. We called hoping to get a new pizza since this one would not get eaten. Emily took our order. She repeated it back to us. She said "no basil" so it MUST have been written on the ticket. We were given to someone I assume must be a manager (Diana?) who said that WE were wrong about our order and proceeded to say that SHE KNOWS WHAT WE ORDER and we always order basil? Now, MY pizza may change, but his is the same every single time. So rather than just looking at the ticket, she gave us a hard time about it. He is now on the way to bringing the pizza back, but we are done... and maybe our small order will make no difference to the big business (who apparently doesn't care about customer satisfaction) but I will be sure to mention what happened to friends and family. VERY SAD that a restaurant with loyal customers does not have the same loyalty or care in return. I have even used Mimosa's for large meetings at my job with parties of ~20. No more.

This place deserves a solid 4 stars. I went with my parents on a Friday night with no reservations. They said the wait would be about 30 minutes and my dad did not want to wait. So, the server was like we have outside seating. We didn't want to be cold and the server was like we have heaters and so it was settled and she seated us. We immediately got bread and our drinks and ordered our food. We ordered salads which were tasty along with three pizzas. They are individual, but I only ate 3 slices and had 3 leftover for the next day's lunch. I don't remember the names of the pizzas, but I got one with fennel sausage, ricotta, mushroom, mozzarella and basil. It was very good. We all enjoyed it! I think this is a good addition to the area because it is seriously lacking in the dining department.

Great restaurant in the middle of the desert. You definitely would not expect it! The best Arancini balls we've tasted. Wait staff is mostly friendly but dont't seem overly enthused that you are there to spend money.

Good food for the area. Solid pizza. Got the chicken parm recently (I think it was a special) which was very good. Pasta is always just okay in my opinion. Good wine selection. I didn't care for their sangria. The nutella cheesecake is so amazing. So, so good.

I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. I enjoyed my experience so thoroughly last time and have talked this place up so much, I wanted to ensure its worthiness. This second visit confirmed my initial impression. WOWed again! Friday night of a long weekend...of course they're going to be busy! I waited less then the anticipated 45 minutes...it was a little closer to 30 and there was a seat at the (pizza) bar open. While waiting for seats to open up, made my way to the bar, again, jam packed, but was helped very promptly. After being seated, we enjoyed watching real hand tossed pizzas being made and marveled at the oven, shipped all the way from Naples.During the entire visit, the boys didn't stop once while tossing dough! Bravo! We enjoyed the delicious Asiago Carciofi Al Forno (Wood Roasted Asiago Artichoke Dip, Bruschetta). No pre-made restaurant stuff here-this is the real deal with lots of chunks of real, fresh artichokes. Yum! For dinner, the Casanova pizza: crushed tomatoes, pancetta, wood roasted artisian fennel sausage, pine nuts, mozzarella, and basil. Hardly tasted the fennel (since I'm not a fan when it's overpowering) and there was just a hint of flavor overall. The ingredients were exceptionally fresh-my new favorite pizza here. -and how can you resist dessert? Was talked into splitting cannoli-though they were out when we ordered, a fresh batch was in the works in no time. We met the lovely owners, Wendell and Vicki who seem to genuinely care for their business. Best wishes for your gem of a restaurant. We're coming back and bringing friends!

By far the best restaurant in Sierra Vista. The pastas are fantastic, and the pizzas are fantastic. The patio has great views of the mountains. My colleagues and I always try to make to Mimosa when we travel to Sierra Vista.

We went here for Valentine's day and the restaurant was packed! Service was still quite good even though everyone was busy. We enjoyed the unique cocktails. I had the calzone and my wife tried heart shaped ravioli... a special. We were both extremely happy with the food, ambiance and reasonable prices.

On the main road on the outskirts of Sierra Vista. Our hosts opted for Italian since the good Mexican resto burned in the fire last June. Good wood oven pizza, with plenty of topping choices. Overdressed caesar salad. Good wine by the glass. Though inexperienced, service was friendly, enthusiastic. Large open dining area, Italian theme on steroids, noisy and full on a Friday night.

This new place has a great building, decor, and outdoor area, but the food was very inferior. My lasagna was bland and mushy in the middle. The others at my table were equally dissatisfied with their food. Service was eager, but not knowledgeable. This will be a good restaurant if they can get the food right. If not, they will be out of business.

I have been to Mimosa atleast 20 times and have always liked it actually, have always loved it. I actually live a good distance away and will drive past a ton of places I love to eat to go there. Until yesterday that is..... I had a friend in town and we went for any early dinner. We were asked if we would sit on the patio because they were really busy. I agreed since it was 5:30 and it was not too hot out. The breeze was nice and so was the view. We were really treated like second class citizens... I had to ask more than 3 times to get a refill on my empty drink glass. my daughter ordered the special of Chicken Parm. This is something we make often at home and she really loves. It was terrible. The chicken was so over cooked that she only ate the spaghetti and never even touched it more than the first few bites. We also ordered the prawns. They were good but the presentation lacked appeal. The pizza was fantastic!! They by far have the best pizza for miles around. None of us were offered cheese for our meals (we all wanted it). We felt like because we were sitting on the patio that we were forgotten about. I had such a terrible experience that I dont know if I would even go back. I

Good food horrible service, we had flies buzzing around the whole time. When we complained they gave us a fly swatter. Also complained about a pizza being mushy when we got it they did not even try to remedy the issue. Again terrible service. Oh did I mention the fly that was staring us down across the table from ours.

This is the best restaurant in the Sierra Vista area in my opinion! Yes, they are new and yes, they are working out the kinks. For example, I've gotten tiramisu every time I've gone and each time it's a little different, but overall the restaurant is making a great effort to continue getting better and the owners are active in the business. I've seen them every time we've gone checking on orders and bussing tables. Their pizzas are amazing and their caprese salad is to die for (they make their own mozzarella). Go for a late lunch and have a meal on the West patio and enjoy some wine with a view of the mountains. The staff is friendly and will gladly suggest menu favorites to try.

This place is a solid 4 stars. The only thing keeping it from 5 is the service. It can be slow considering the pizza only takes 2 minutes to cook in their 800 degree oven. This place gives you what pizza should be, true Neapolitan style. The family and I have been twice now. We have ordered the Casanova, Monumento, and Emilia style pizzas and they all were wonderful. We have also had the Gnocchi Alla Triolese which was amazing. This place is a great change from the numerous chain restaurants and Mexican joints that pollute the area. What a nice change from the usual dumps that line Fry Blvd. Both visits we have seen the owner out and about in the restaurant. I'll be back many more times.

After three less than satisfying tries, mostly because of bad service, we have to say that the last two visits have been excellent. We live nearby, and really want this place to work for us. We started sitting at the bar where we knew we would get decent service from their practiced bartenders. We also went at happy hour, for their $3 draft beers and wonderful $5 menu. On a warm afternoon, with the windows open to the patio, sitting outside at the bar is a great place. Everything we've tried on the happy hour menu has been fabulous and a great deal. As we've sat at the outside bar, looking in at the restaurant, we've noticed that there is now an air of competence that was lacking before. We are happy to see a relaxed, easy flow with the waitstaff to complement the already stellar food and decor. We wouldn't hesitate to come for dinner in the main dining room now. We feel very lucky to have such a great place in our neighborhood.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
