Hometown Dogs

Had the Sonoran dog. Bacon wrapped dog in a bun with onions peppers and chili with a dressing on top. For a hot dog, these are pretty amazing! I can't wait to go back and try their other specialty dogs! They also sell homemade salsa and a green chile (for real green chile!!!) sauce which is out of this world! The people are really friendly and the place is spotless! I only wish they were open later!!
Dropped by here for lunch and we are so glad we did! Hometown dogs has a mom n pop feel to it and it is a small restaurant. Jr and Tee, the owners were amazing and made the experience worthwhile! The service could make this place five stars but let's talk about the food. I ordered a combo dog with chili, nacho cheese, and jalapenos with a side of the green chili pie. For $6.99 it was unbelievable! The hot dog was great, chili was great, and the toppings enhanced the whole thing (what does nacho cheese not enhance??) The green chili pie was green chili pork covered fritos with onions and cheese and was also delicious! Where else are you going to find a green chili pie as a side?? Someone said it before but I'll say it again, the sides here are AWESOME. My sister got mushroom and swiss dog and also liked it a lot. She got the frito pie and ate it even though she doesn't like chili. That's how good it is! There are also tons of different options that all look amazing so we will definitely be back. (and a punch card to motivate us) Their dogs are really good and have a nice snap to them and are super filling. For $16 total, you can't beat it! They also have award winning salsa that we will also be back to try out.
Great dogs close to home... J.R. Has a large menu of specialty dogs along with great sides! Have definitely found the best dogs in the Phoenix area!

Excellent patio & view. Great place to have a drink and unwind. There was live music while we were there and a huge firepit surrounded with rocking chairs! Perfect place to bring out of town guests and show off views of Four Peaks mountain. Also, got a Cobb salad for lunch which was very good, and big enough to share. I will be coming here more often!
The food here was so good! We had a girls night here for the wine tasting on Wednesday and ate pizza made in the wood oven and a pitching wedge salad (cute and clever name for my favorite kind of salad served on a golf course). We came for the wine, but ended up having a fun night around the fire. The pizza was by far the best that we've had in AZ. (2 of us are from NYC, so we have high standards) I was happy to find such good food in a causal place. There aren't enough places like this around. Just what I was looking for. Prices are very reasonable. I felt really comfortable here and can imagine spending a lot of time here. I love taking friends to a place they've never been. When it's this good, it makes it easier on me to plan nights out. home run! Or should i say hole in one ;)
Best atmosphere ever! Chef Matthew was totally entertaining and accommodating best food ever the meat was cooked to perfection! I highly recommend for great food and as stated before AMAZING ATMOSPHERE! Cc"

We went to Sapori Friday night and it was a delightful experience. They have a beautiful outside patio and a more than decent wine list. Also love that they have Peroni on tap :-) I got the Siculi pizza which was delicious and the lobster ravioli also got rave reviews from the group I was with. We'll definitely be back!
4/7/2013 We went there for my 66th Birthday today and the food was fabulous. Best Shrimp Scampi I ever had. There were 4 of us and we each had something different. Each of our meals was fantastic and the service was great. We drove all the way from San Tan Valley and we will definitely be back, the long trip is well worth it. I saw the program on Restaurant Impossible and new we just had to try it. I am so glad we did. Had the wine, and dessert, it was all great.
My husband and I stopped in after going to Casavino Winery, and thought we'd give it a try. The service was very good... everyone was very friendly. It is family owned and run. Then the food came and... WOW!!! I found the best Lasagne Bolognese in Arizona!!! Even my husband, who doesn't like lasagna tried a bite, and liked it! I guess they only have it as a special on the weekends, but, it was AWESOME! My husband had the Chicken Marsala, and was very pleased. He said it it was in the top two of the best he's ever had. We were so full that we had to take the homemade raspberry cheesecake to go... just had a bite, and it is AMAZING! We will definitely be back! =)

Great carnitas. A little pricey for a taqueria, but damned good!
Two words............... Shrimp Burrito I usually get the squirts from fast mexian food but this place is fine.
Well, this place won my loyalty just with the generous portion of avocado on the shrimp tostada. It was delicious. Hubby had the chorizo torta, he thought it was OK. I also ordered a tamal, just for fun, it as good and very reasonably priced. Service was nice and friendly too.

Einsteins and other chain bagel haunts have done a good job of schmearing our expectations when it comes to bagels and sandwiches. The absolute mediocrity of their offerings have all but ensured that I only drop by in desperate breakfast circumstances. But those low expectations were changed with DJ's. No dry and endless chewable bagels here. Everything is moist and vibrant and I have reason again to consider the bagel as adequate end tables to my sandwich selections. Great place in a great little town.
Nothing bad to say about this bagel shop. Def one of the prized cafes in fountain hills. I enjoy the bacon egg and cheese on an everything begal witha little honey mustard. Fresh fresh begals and delicious eggs! A must try if you are in the hills!
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff , clean and happy staff. Lox and cream cheese with capers on a toasted garlic... YUMMMM

I love Starbucks! And the service they provide, 100% of the time! Their new raw vegan snacks make it even more fun and relaxing!
Staff that works early morning 6a-7:30a shift, M-F, are all FANTASTIC! I am always greeted w/a genuine, warm smile by whoever happens to be cashiering. Their drinks are always made consistently good too! *Side Note Personal Pet Peeve: The family-on-vacation donned in shorts or the retirees (also in shorts) who take their sweet-ass time at 6:45am ordering their drinks/baked goods in front of me in line. They do a lot of squinting at the menu, hemming and hawing over choices, scratching their heads, stepping back, etc. NEWSFLASH: There are working ppl who are on a time crunch for their commute - step aside if ordering is too much for you! Thank you. :)
I really like this Starbucks! It seems almost like a local coffee shop; it's cozy, they have a really small staff, and (at least when I go) it's usually not busy. The service is always really friendly. I've seen some of the staff working at other Starbucks locations in Flagstaff, probably due to shift swaps and such. I come here to sit and do homework because it's pretty quiet and they have a ton of outlets! The only disadvantages of this location are the hours (they close at 7 PM) and the temperature. Even in the summer, I have to bring a sweater if I plan on spending time in there. I understand the machines make it really hot for the workers, but the AC is so powerful in there that it's almost uncomfortable. Maybe it's their way of getting people to leave? Not sure. Anyways, I like this location a lot. Definitely one of the best Starbucks I've gone to (which is... a lot).

Pizza is not cardboard like at all... But I really wouldn't know cause I've never eaten cardboard before. Read reviews of this place and it was really up and down, so I needed to see for myself. First thing, awesome prices! It's very reasonable, $2.75 by the slice for pepperoni. I brought a drink, so my lunch was cheap, even if I wanted 2 slices, it would have only been about 6 bucks. They have appetizers, pastas, entrees, hot and cold subs, calzones, deserts, and of course pizza! All low priced for this area. I normally spend 10-15 bucks on lunch. But not here! The cute girl at the front said everything is good here and there is really not a specific popular item, so i ordered my pizza and it was on the table really hot and and ready to eat. This was my first experience, and I will definitely come back and try the other various menu items. I'm very satisfied with the service, food, and prices. I don't really think you can beat this place in the area it's in and at lunch time.
Meh, not the "best" by far concerning the pizza. Like the fresh tomatoes but lacking in flavor from the other toppings. Maybe it's cause the crust is too heavy. There are better options especially in scottsdale.
Such a good place! The food was absolutely delicious! The service was wonderful! The staff is so friendly. The atmosphere is great. It is such a cute, quaint little place. Pricing was reasonable, and actual quite affordable for the quality food received! Will come back and refer to friends! Thanks so much!

We visited Sofrita last night and and had a really great dinner. Ally the waitress was exceptional as well as the rest of the staff. Guacamole: Not for the guacamole purist but very good. There isn't much heat here but they add some textures and rough chopped tomato which are nice. Pork Tamales: Nice texture. Didn't crumble. Pork was slightly dry which I found off for a tamale. The Pork Pernil was just OKAY. The pork was cooked perfectly but it isn't hard to slow roast or braise a pork shoulder. There could have been a little more depth of flavor to the whole dish though. The side of yellow rice was perfect as were the flour tortillas. With the addition of their two side "hot sauces", it gets a little better. The guys I ate with had the tacos and both said they were amazing. Margaritas were meh. Tasted like a premade mix and not from scratch. They didn't match the level of the food by any means. Apparently they are known for their sangrias. Should have trusted Yelpers and gone that route. From where we sat, the "bartender" seemed nice but wasn't exactly enthusiastic about her job and that came though. Overall, I really liked the place and it had a lot to do with the quality of the food and friendly servers. Doesn't seem like a great place for groups but I would go back if in the area to try some more of the menu and would recommend it.
Summary: Food was tasty, but very small portions. Service was quick, but not particularly friendly. Patio was nice, but inside was way too dark. Poor value overall. Four of us went for dinner, me, my wife, our 17 year old and our 8 year old. The paella looked appealing (although I'm was a little hesitant when I saw Quinoa in place of yellow rice - and I was right). I asked if it was enough for two to share. The waitress said it would be. It wasn't. The portion was clearly for only one person. My son ordered the shrimp tacos. They came three to an order, but were incredibly small. Smaller than standard street tacos. We asked for a single taco for my 8 year old, and it took three requests before they would make her a pork taco. The bright spot was the spicy hummus appetizer made with jalapeno for a nice bite. It was very fresh served with pita and thick cut chunks of cucumber. Also: Definitely not a place for kids. They were not accomodating regarding the menu, and the atmosphere was not for little ones. They did apparently have a special liking for dogs as the patio was full of dogs. The drink menu looked good. We both had beer, so we didn't sample the sangria, which is apparently their specialty. Overall, I was not impressed. I don't think I would return, but if I did, I would stick with the appetizers (tapas) and sample more from the bar.
This is a fantastic restaurant. It is not Mexican food! It is Latin inspired food. Think Spain, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Costa Rica. If you're wanting heat, cumin, some type of chili peppers then go out for Mexican food. Tapas is served and should be share with family and friends. I had their white Sangria and it was the best I've ever had. I usually pass it up it is too sweet, for me, but this was perfect. We had the pork and vegetable tamales and the Bacaladitos for starters. The masa is light and not heavy as some tamales can be. I thoroughly enjoyed the Bacaladitos. They were light, fried and not greasy and the dipping sauce was fantastic. For our entre we had the pork pernil and the shrimp street tacos. I don't know how the cooked the pork but heaven entered my mouth. The shrimp street tacos were good, but I'd choose something different. Dessert was share and we had the Santa Marta. The cake was moist and perfect in sweetness-- not overly sweet just perfect. For two people for food, alcohol, and with tip it came to $80. The inside of the restaurant is small, but the patio is huge. If you go, do so on a cool evening and enjoy the outdoors.

BUSY! Great service considering how slammed they were. Food was good.
Fabulous little spot. Hubby had banana and nutella stuffed French toast and two perfectly cooked over easy eggs, I'm not into sweet stuff for breakfast, but he loved it. Me...I had the Manhattan omelet ....one of the best omelets I have ever had. Not a big pancake fan, but the ones with my omelet were wonderful. We're looking forward to enjoying more items on their menu before heading back to the rainy, but beautiful, northwest. Service outstanding. Definitely go to Flapjacks!!
Got there about 10:30 on a Saturday morning, maybe we were too late, don't know but the service was very, very slow. They were busy, but I don't find that an excuse for slow service. The food was OK, nothing specatular. I would go back but try a little earlier next time just to see if the service is any better.

The place smells like fresh paint, but it's clean. The server is attentive. The food was alright. My mom ordered some sort of walnut shrimp. It might have been better if it wasn't doused in the sauce. Her boyfriend ordered Kung Pao chicken, but it wasn't spicy at all - even I could eat it. The crab puffs were delicious though!
Stopped in for a quick early dinner with very limited time. Friendly greeting, clean bright and comfortable. I let the waitress know I was short on time, she was very accommodating. Kung Pao Chicken was on the table in under 10 minutes. Flavors clean and light, I could have used a little more spice but could have been a function of rushing the dish (which I requested). Will be back.
only two stars tonight, and i'm being generous ... service was ok, won ton soup, lots of chicken and veggies but none of it fresh, only one won ton and not a very good won ton at that. ... house rice was ok, not great, served luke warm ... pot stickers again ok but not great, and served less than luke warm ... Cashew chicken came out hot, was the best dish of the meal, rated 2 stars ...
