Galiano’s Café & Smoothies

Galianos is a true gift to the residents of Douglas, AZ. This is the type of place that really raises the bar on the ability to compete in the culinary realm of The surrounding area. This small local cafe packs an impressive experience for it's guests and as I mentioned is truly a gift to Douglas because the quality of food and especially the various coffee beverages is at a level worthy of Seattle, San Francisco, London, or any other prestigious city of the world including those of Dutch, Scandinavia! The family running this place could easily bring their talent and passion to any market worldwide and experience success as they focus and are driven on supplying exceptional service and products; but as passionate as they are about the coffee they serve they are as equally compelled to raising their family in a safe, environment and are therefore very loyal to the town of Douglas. In fact the owners of Galianos have been working diligently toward the preservation and restoration of historical landmarks of old town Douglas all while introducing an outlet that would provide residents with locally produced art and wine. This venture is very family driven and has every intention of making Douglas a more enjoyable place to live. I highly recommend Galianos to any self styled foodie and invite any coffee lover to this place as I am confident they will be pleased.
The place to be is here if you are into real Coffe places. Is cozy, classic yet original. Food is good, coffee is better and customer service make you feel in a big city coffee shop! we're so lucky we have Galiano's!
Saved me from the trashy fast food and southern poison holes. They have KALE and the Latte was awesome! If you find yourself in this town make sure to stop here on your way!

Every time I go down to Douglas, I try and stop at El Chef. Their menudo is top notch! I always go for the white kind because...well...it's delicious! It comes with toasted buttered pan birote and a dish of all the fixings. Service is ok for a small town, nothing to write home about, but the staff is always friendly. My son doesn't like menudo and he'll order a burrito with fries. Being a typical mom, I have to sample my kids food. It was really good. I don't think I've ever eaten food here that didn't taste good. If you ever find yourself in Douglas, make sure that you spot in a have a bowl of menudo!
I love the food here. The staff is all family. They are sweet people. It can take awhile sometimes, but it's worth the wait.
This is a great restaurant that has been serving the Douglas population for years! I only ate inside the restaurant a couple of times and the service was decent, not the kind of service that you could do away with in a bigger city and still have such a high Yelp rating. Usually I go there and order menudo to go. Wow, I am in love with their menudo! It is the ultimate comfort food! Muy delicioso :) Their tacos de cabeza are also really good! I am willing to be that the rest of the food is equally delicious and will have to adventure and try other items. How can this restaurant improve? Speed of service is slow and friendliness can be stepped up a notch, then I would definitely give them 5 stars!

Excellent place to eat close to authentic tacos. We had the tripa, asada, and pastor, all where great. The service was outstanding, the owner Nery is on site and was very nice and she explained all the menu items, and her favorites. For the first time I will give it 4 stars, on the second visit if everything was as good as our first visit I will definitely upgrade it to 5 stars. Next I will try their burgers, Nery said it's a must try! We will see, maybe tomorrow again for lunch, but who knows maybe dinner tonight!!!! Enjoy.

We were traveling through Douglas looking for a good Mexican food place. Stopped here based on reviews of others. Family and I loved it! The food was really good. The chicken tacos had very nice white meat chicken and it was very tender. Also loved the beef burro with red sauce. The place was clean and the service was great. Definitely worth trying if you are in the area.
Family style food... nice staff and good prices. I went with a friend who brought her 17 month old son and while he is getting better at not throwing food.. he still is a bit of a disaster area. The friendly people who worked there did not get testy about the mess, and to be honest the kid liked the food! He's a picky boy. We all enjoyed it. Good shredded beef tacos, huge chimichangas and tasty horchata. What's not to like?
Very good red Chile. Service was good and place is busy for lunch. Will return next time I am in town

If you're in Douglas and want a chain restaurant Pizza Hut was delicious! I got the waffle fries and honey bbq wings carry out! The restaurant was very clean and the staff was friendly. My dessert, the mini apple pies was cooked fresh for me as well! Only complaint was they told me 10 mins and I have to wait another 5 when I got there but worth the wait for fresh food!
I was visiting Douglas to do some 4-H judging at the local fairgrounds, and wanted some Pizza Hut when I got to my hotel to relax for the night. After logging on to my Pizza Hut app, it became apparent that this location no longer delivers (they did last year, but not anymore). Seems like they really could deliver since I'm only a few minutes away. However, I decided to just order online and pick it up myself. When I entered, there was no one there except employees, although the place has been remodeled. It looks really nice. So I went to the counter to pick up my order and someone started helping me, then stopped and went to tend to some issue in the back. Another nice young lady came and got my information. She put part of my ordered together then started snipping at someone that had forgotten part of my order (wings). Eventually the wings arrived and she said my order was complete. I reminded her that I had ordered a side salad as well. She went to find it, but seemed annoyed that I was requesting something that I had ordered. Even more annoyed when I asked it if came with caesar dressing (it does, she just forgot to get it). I even had to ask for plastic forks because we were staying at a hotel. I gave up and didn't get paper plates or napkins. Service was just so-so. The pizza we ordered was delicious -- no complaints there! The Honey BBQ wings had a LOT of sauce on them. I thought they could use less sauce, but maybe others like them floating in the sauce (which is tasty). The caesar salad was kind of frumpy -- the croutons were pretty stale, or they were just gross because the salad had been in the fridge for awhile. No stickers or markings to identify when the salad was made -- so I don't know how long it has been waiting for me to come along -- but usually other Pizza Hut salads I get have a sticker with a "made on" date stuck to the top. While the pizza is good, the service was less than amazing and some of the other food items were just average. Also, I have to knock them down a star for the lack of delivery service.
At night, it seems like this is the only game in town if you're looking for some grub. I'm not a Pizza Hut fan but food was well-prepared and service was good. You can probably find something something on their menu that will satisfy your appetite. They're doing a big delivery business here!

Great place to eat. Authentic Mex.
I read some of the reviews and they seem to be all over the place. As far as authentic Mexican food, I wouldn't know what authentic Mexican food was if I tripped over it. With that being said, I will rate this on my own personal experience. We happened into Douglas one late Sunday afternoon. The town of Douglas seems to be empty with not much happening. That's ok. It was 2 in the afternoon and our tummies were grumbling and we wanted to grab a late lunch before heading home. First off, there are not many restaurants that we saw in Douglas so our choices seemed limited. We drove by it first not realizing it was open because there was no one in the parking lot. The second time we drove by we saw the "Open" sign. By the time we got there, we were one of two parties there at the time. Of course, service was exceptional and friendly. The chips and salsa were ok. The chips were good the salsa leaned more towards something that came from a jar. I am still not complaining here. We placed our order and the portions were oversized and generous. But...sooooo good! This is definitely one of the restaurants that we will be coming back to again.
This place is good. Get the carne asada. Prices were reasonable and the portions are pretty good. You know it's good mexican food when the border is half a mile away.

Love this place...hadn't been here ever and always saw bad reviews about it so i decided to check it out.awesome food very friendly staff, everywhere. Everybody was polite with all the people that came in and would convesrate with all. It was a good way to start the day i will be back.
Fun to stay in such a historic hotel! We rented a two room suite with a jacuzzi tub. Beds were very comfortable. We visited the third floor to see "haunted" room 333 which was spooky. Older hotel obviously but friendliness of staff made up for it! Great breakfast also in hotel restaurant!
This review is for the restaurant. We had a great time! Excellent service, delicious food, very reasonable prices. A party of five had drinks, appetizers and entrees for $85. They feature Sonoran cuisine and American. Tip: order a few plates of the bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers. They aren't breaded either. You'll be so happy! After you are finished eating, ask for a tour of the renovated rooms from Hotel Impossible TV show.

Came to Douglas from Tucson to visit a friend. Much to my amazement, I found Lai Lai. It was 8:10pm when I got there and even though they closed at 8:30, the owner Marie let my buddy and I still dine in. The food was amazing. Fresh vegetables, and the meat was delicious. After my meal Marie sat down and chatted with us for a good 45 minutes. Best chineese food I've had in the state. I highly recommend the mongolian beef and kung pow chicken. Steamed dumplings were great too. I will definatley be making special trips to Douglas for this great restaurant.
While the outside looks pretty rundown (and the inside is a little outdated) the food here was good. I enjoyed a lunch buffet that was a bit overpriced at $8.99 and a $2.00 coke. A $12 lunch is a tad high for this venue, especially since the service was decent, but nothing to get to excited over. Price and service is why this isn't a 4 star place. I've had better buffets for a lot lower price with the drink included. Overall, it is Douglas and the only Chinese place around. I will return because like I said, the food wasn't half bad. I didn't order off of the menu so I can't judge that. A few improvements may be in order but overall its a nice little place that I will frequent when in the area and am craving chinese.
Came here because of the good reviews.....The buffet looked like it was a day old. The lady working here was rude and didn't provide ANY customer service whatsoever. She kept walking away from us and never came to check on us or give us the bill. When we put our cards to pay she stuck her hand out telling us to give it to her rude as ever though. The food was HORRID and overpriced. This is NOT good chinese food AT ALL. Its a pile of SLOP. don't go here. We should have saved our money and ate at McDonald's or somewhere else.

CHEEEEESE AS A BLOCK OF SHARP CHEDDAR! This rating is based on customer service because Fast-processed-chain-food will always be the same everywhere, everyday, every how..... (even do I do crave and eat a double cheese burger once in a while) this is what I want to say: "If you are one of the busiest McD of the country (due to all the ppl coming from Mexico and eating at "fabulos" McD and (taking-my-children-to-McD-as-a price-for-whatever-they-did-good-restaurant) you should definitely focus on Customer Service and efficiency. Example: If the pool of oil that their fries are fried in -makes the fries taste bitter, that has a simple solution.....change your oil more often, ...right? but what about.....when your employee is not nice, friendly, and makes you park for 20 min on the "fast drive-thru" numbered parking spaces? Conclusion: improve your Customer Service skills not your food, (not that there's much to improve....not saying is bad...is just McD food...standard) and definitely Fast food should be FAST!, if you know you'll be selling 200 Happy meals, not 20....then prepare for it! because my kids are demanding and hungry and I want to get home FAST!....and better not forget the toy! Happy eating :)
