I am a rather frequent diner (12 years) at this restaurant. It is always a must stop when I have house guests. Their pasta primavera is out of this world. (Would like red bell peppers but without, it is still quite excellent for Northern Arizona). Going back to 1940/1950, if red bell pepper was ready to pick in the backyard, it would be in the pasta). Everything is fresh. They call this classical dish Patriza? The ambiance is wonderful and reminds me so much of the well known Bocci restaurant in Santa Cruz, Calif. This local treasure is family owned. Owner, Ramano, took over business from Papa who (retired to Sedona area) was an ACCLAIMED chef in L.A. In late 40s and 50s. Mom and dad in kitchen while son Giuliano serves table. This is a must stop for out of towners. It does take me back to good ol fashion restaurants in the Bay Area. You WILL hear a word or two from the kitchen.... Who wouldn't if Nonna was cooking and Pappa through in his four cents worth?this is visversa but same concept. Lastly, mostly all desserts are made in the premises! It is RARE dessert is offered....... You gotta mention it first with a ....."Do you have dessert? Understand, this restaurant does not have to upsell but hazelnut cheesecake is the best I have tasted. Today I asked and Giuliano said NO DESSERT.. UPDATE!!!! Major Update!!!!! Owner met me outside and said I am now banned from restaurant. Review remains the same. Excellent food with a little drama!

Great family owned restaurant. We went with friends from Sedona and enjoyed eating at something that's not a chain. I had the Eggplant Gouliano and a Cannoli for desert. My wife had Chicken Marsala and as picky as she is enjoyed it so I know you would. Not for the tourist based on the outside when you drive up but locals will know the reason to go.

Don't let the review by Russell M scare you away. This place is a hidden gem. If you like to eat at Nonna ' s house, then this is the place for you. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but once inside it's like you stepped inside someone's home. It's small and quaint. The aromas should make you hungry immediately. Service was more than adequate. Giuliano was our waiter. He was phenomenal. He made us feel like regulars even though we had never been there before. He made recommendations and fully answered all of our questions. We even got a chance to speak with the owners. It was like talking with family. All in all, from greeting to eating to paycheck, a great experience. We were disappointed we didn't get a chance to go back.

What a great restaurant in the Camp Verde Valley/Sedona area. I have been in Cottonwood for 4 months now and I had a desire for Italian food and Vince's Litte Star was suggested by a friend. The interior of Vince restaurant had the ambiente of a small Italian restaurant from San Fernando Valley, Ca back in the 1960's. With the Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra music and the italian red wine bottles used as candle holders I felt I was back in time. The service was great (Vince's son) and probably the best service I have had at a restaurant since I moved to the area. The food was equally exceptional with many Veal dishes and they also offer pizzas. We had a great evening out and I certainly put this restaurant at the top of my list. Very affordable and away from the snooty Sedona foo foo restaurant scene.

Chef Romano offered me recompense for our less than delightful recent dining experience which I respectfully declined given that we were not the only party affected by the delays I mentioned but I do want to publicly thank him for his sincere concern.

We heard in advance that this quirky Italian restaurant requires a reservation and we were so glad we did. We loved the lasagna, spaghetti, ravioli, veal Marsala. You can tell everything is made from scratch. Don't drive right by it.

Eric R. is right. Who would think you could find a restaurant like this in Cornville. It's definitely worth the trip. Call ahead to make sure they can accomodate you. This a small restaurant with a big heart and great food! I plan to make this a regular visit, now that I live in Cottonwood.

Vince's is one of those places that you will likely NEVER find unless a local is willing to share this hidden gem of a restaurant located off the main road in Cornville. This tiny place serves outstanding homestyle Italian food in an atmosphere that you will not find anywhere else unless you have relatives from The Old Country and you pop in for dinner. The decor and the menu are simple, and the whole point is to keep it simple and keep it outstanding. This place is so authentic that the rattling of pots and pans and yelling and raised voices from the kitchen only add to the charm. Everything on the menu is prepared fresh to order, so do not come here unless you have time to enjoy a meal made from scratch. I started with garlic bread made on fresh Italian bread, followed by a hearty bowl of minestrone. My entree was an delicious Chicken Parmesan lightly breaded and served with pasta. An outstanding house Chianti accompanied my meal and it was rounded out with home made cheesecake. I was also able to sample home made cheese ravioli and lasagne (courtesy of my family) all of which were outstanding. This was far more than a meal, it was an experience that I will not soon forget. Bring your family or friends here for a memorable evening of great food in a cozy environment that you will not soon forget. A few tips: 1. Reservations are pretty much essential. It is a TINY place with only a few tables and walk-ins can be turned away. So do yourself a favor and call-leave a message and let them know what time and how many. 2. As it is a small place, be prepared that they may not have everything on the menu. The veal dishes are VERY popular and sell out very quickly. 3. I cannot reiterate enough that everything is made fresh, so be prepared to wait for everything, including a cup of coffee. This place is not for everyone. You will need a bit of patience, good humour and flexibility. In exchange, you are in for an outstanding meal that will leave you craving more. I've said before that I have all but given up on enjoying good Italian food except when I'm in San Francisco, New York or Boston. If you're anywhere in The Verde Valley, this place is worth going out of your way for an awesome meal. REMEMBER to call ahead for a reservation!

My husband and I went to this family owned Italian restaurant for his 64th birthday. Our waiter, Giuliano, is chef Romano and Patrice's son he was friendly and efficient. I had the eggplant Giuliano and Denis had the pasta frutti del mare both were delicious. We had the garlic bread which was very good and for dessert the spumoni. I had a full generous glass of Chianti for $5. I gave them 5 stars because the food was prepared al dente, hot and fresh.

This unique family style small restaurant tucked away in Cornville is my only place to go for the best pizza in the Verde Valley or Sedona -period. They have a traditional menu and the pizza is only one size, but you can taste and smell the homemade freshness. I love their antipasti salad also, My partner had the linguini al Lombardo (?), which is basically fetticini alfredo, but with linguini. It was also very nice. You must call for reservations to make sure they are open, but will worth the drive to have real Italian food in an ambiance of a small Italian restaurant with checkerboard tablecloths and candles in wine bottles. It's not brand spanking new and modern...quite the opposite; but if you like the idea of really good homemade Italian food in a traditional setting - go for it. And they have carafes of wine for a very good price.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
