To start with, Yelp has the address and map wrong. I think it's an old address. The place is actually on the south side of town where the road parallels the railroad, just past the high school. As for the food, absolutely yummy. I really enjoyed the cowboy beans and real Texas style BBQ. A great place to stop on those motorcycle rides up Devils Highway !

BBQ doesn't get any better than this. Probably because Roy is always personally watching over the food and service. Besides the excellent food, the restaurant is in a converted circa 1940 Ford showroom in the historic mining town of Clifton in the canyon of he San Francisco River.

We stopped by for lunch during our Devil's Highway motorcycle trip. We had the beef brisket sandwich and the pull pork sandwich. Both were excellent. In fact, they were some of the better BBQs we have had. The home made coleslaw didn't have any mayo so it was refreshing. The cowboy beans had big chuck of pork and green chili, so they had a little kick. Service was very professional and attentive. The owner lady even came out and chatted with us. This restaurant is a gem!

mr tyler does a wonderful job in operating his restaurant--he is a true "hospitalitarian". he used to come into my restaurant--bubba's southern bbq--in yuma, to learn the trade, and i must say, i learned him good, cause he is doing a great job. i recommend tyler's taste of texas to anyone who values good food and true southern hospitality. his secret weapon is his charming wife, joyce!

Tylers was an excellent choice! Simple menu, but good options. Ordered "The Oinker" and loved it! Well worth the drive to enjoy their BBQ. Looking foward to my next trip to try their ribs!
