This is the best restaurant in Benson, and has the friendliest staff. We discovered this place a while back and have been hooked ever since. Its my daughters favorite place. If you ask her what she wants to do for the day, she says Wild Dogs every time. Everything I have tried has been out of this world. The owners are awesome, a restaurant doesn't get any cleaner than this one, and it feels very cozy. I go about 2 times a week if I can. Its a real treat for us to spend our time at Wild Dogs. I highly recommend this place. Whether you live around these parts or just passing through, its worth the stop. I promise !!!

This place is amazing! Killer Sonoran Dogs and amazing hand cut fries. The owner is super friendly, and gives free samples of anything you might want to try. They have a Hawaiian Dog not listed on the menu that is incredible!

The only place to stop in Benson for a quick bite. Owners are great people and the food is good as gold (like their fries)!

Best service I have had. Friendliest people. Great food. My family and I where just passing by the town and looking for something to eat while on our road trip. We chose Wild Dogs. And I tell you what I wish I can just hook them up to the back of my car and take them with me on this road trip. Will definitely be stopping by on the road trip back.

Love their chili dog! They make their chili homemade which is a plus and their dogs are 100% beef. They have a wide verity of hotdogs and sandwiches as well and I cant wait to try. I saw that they hand cut their fries too...I didn't have them but they have to be good if they are fresh not frozen. I'm defiantly going back! If you ever drive though Benson it is right next to The Rock Shop on the right (about a quart mile) exiting off of I-10. It sits back a bit so don't pass it. A good place to stop for something quick and different if your on your way to Tombstone or Bisbee.

They have a great variety to choose from. I really like the Pastrami Dog and the Rueben Dog. I prefer my fries well done and that's how they come out, I just have to remember to ask. Service is fast and very friendly.

Was looking for a place to stop for lunch heading home on the I-10 and found this place on Yelp in Benson, AZ. Gave us samples of things to try. Everything was great. Settled on AZ dog with added onions and it was good and filling. Tried the Super Nachos but asked for brisket instead of taco meat and they were great. Onion rings were good. My husband had the Reuben which was also good. We came near the end of lunch and were able to chat with the owners about what brought them to AZ and a hot dog stand. The kids liked it too, and at the end of our meal they gave us some brownies on the house. Prices were reasonable. Will come here again if traveling on I-10.

Great dogs and service. I got the slaw dog and it was unique and tasty. Hubby got the Chicago and loved it. The crinkle fries were excellent. Onion rings were good, and so were the zucchini sticks. Mozz sticks were just ok. The guy working there brought the food out to our car! I don't live in the area- just here for an appt, but if I am back in town I'll be back!

Seriously delicious!!! Came here on way back from Texas road trip based on Yelp reviews and soooo worth it. It is just a small enclosed stand but wow, phenomenal food, unique too. I had the Sonora dog and my husband had the Arizona dog. Yum! Onion rings and curly fries were amazing and the best I've had. Super friendly service - we were asked if it was our first time there and when we said yes we were served with samples of brisket and Arizona dog. Brisket was amazing but I was set on a dog :). Highly recommend!

Great quality dogs! Had the Chicago dog and chili-cheese fries. Fantastic! The chili is reminiscent of that famous place on La Brea in Los Angeles but without the freaks, bums, and other assorted weirdos. Instead you get the friendliness of a gracious hot dog chef in a humble establishment. From now on when I travel I-10 past Benson I will stop in for a Dog.

Finally a business that cares about the food and people, and not just making money. Delicious and quality high dogs. Clean and practical establishment.

My daughter and I were driving through the area and stopped here because of the positive reviews. It is an unassuming building that my daughter thought was like "a food truck made permanent". But something about not judging a book by the cover... They were incredibly nice to us and the hot dogs were awesome. My daughter thought the french fries were the best she had had, and I have to admit they were very good (fresh, thin, crispy outside). If these guys were near home, we would be regulars!

This is by far the best chili dog I have ever had. The brisket is superb and well as the pastrami.

De-licious!! Stopped in benson to grab a quick hot dog based on yelpers suggestions on the way to Phoenix and so glad we did! Had the Chicago dog-yum. So much flavor and just the right crunch the mess was worth it.. my fiancé had the Reuben dog which he highly recommends. On top of the great food, the people were super friendly and welcoming. The owner sat down with us for a bit to talk about our cross country trip and the rangers (we're from ny). Not sure if we'll ever be back in the area, but if we are we'd go back to wild dogs for sure! Highly recommend.

Service, food, personality! Low prices! Generous service and local. The four of us put down chili dogs with fries, taquitos and brisket sandwich with onion rings, chicago dog (yes Vienna beef) and corn dog with zuccini and a vienna dog with ranch beans and potato salad. We were pleased with everything and would highly recommend! They should put out signage on the road however, because without Yelp we would never have seen it!

Amazing find in Benson! First off, I can't remember the last time anyone was as nice to me as the owner of the restaurant was! He exudes kindness. Immediately he was handing us samples of the brisket (delicious and I hate smoked meat as a rule..except bacon). Then came the topping on the Arizona chili dog...incredible. Get the AZ chili dog. Get two. Pastrami in the topping almost turned me away but I won when I ordered that. We also had the Slaw Dog (homemade cole slaw that wasn't too vinegary nor too mayonnaise-y)..yum. Then we got the Sonoran Dog. ORDER THIS ONE TOO! Beats the heck out of the last Sonoran dog I had in Nogales about 25 years ago (duh...but so tasty). Onion rings were also DELISH! Seriously, if I didn't live in Alaska I'd eat here every week. Stop at Wild Dogs. If you drove past, TURN AROUND!

At first glance one might decide to pass on by such a place as "Wild Dogs" unless you were a biker who saw the Bikers welcome sign... But doing so would be an epic loss for you! The food is outstanding. Unusually crafted specialties include a plethora of top notch Vienna dogs and meats topped with various sauces to tantalize your tastebuds. They Also have Delightful appetizers which include fried Macaroni Bites, battered and fried zucchini strips, onion rings, and outstanding real french fries. And that's just the food... As if it couldn't get any better your host/cook/server is none other than the owner himself who is a joy to be around and strives to please you in anyway possible! Bottom line if you have an addictive personality I would avoid this place as you may find your self drawn like a moth to a light... All others will Be delighted with their experience. Cheers!

Stopped here during a road trip from Phoenix to Texas and was fantastic! The owner was extremely nice and you can tell he takes pride in what he does. Food was great and even my kids approved which was the real test. Will stop there again next time we pass through Benson.

The reviews are real. Yes, a hot dog joint in a stretch of desert called "Benson" that is as good as it gets: 5-stars all the way. Benson is on the way across the southern part of the country, and not too far from some good tourist sites on your way out of Tucson (like Kartchner Caverns). The building is on the main road (look right) from I-10 into town, so very convenient if you are passing through--and well worth the stop. The variety is great. I'd recommend getting the jumbo dog with your order. We had the Chicago and the Sonoran (classic South Arizona staple). Phenomenal--I should have ordered more just to try the great flavors. The owner recommended the onion rings, and with the nice batter and ranch dressing, he reminded me that food that is bad for you can be so very goooood. Free samples of delicious brisket were also offered, and I've got to say that if I wasn't on a "Dog or Die" mission, I might have given in and had that for my meal instead. I can't praise the friendly customer service enough. Add in great prices and world class dogs. Take a detour if you are in Southern Arizona and check this place out.

So glad we listened to Yelp & stopped in... hard to see from the street but well worth looking for. LOVED the brisket sandwich and the thick, delicious onion rings! The proprietor was very kind & interesting. Great lunch!!!

We ate here twice while we were on vacation in Tombstone. The food in Tombstone sucked, so we drove 30 mins to Wild Dogs because they had awesome reviews on Yelp. They didn't disappoint. The food was great. We went with our three kids ages 2, 6, & 10, and there was something on the menu for everyone. The kids loved the food. The owners were very sweet, and made sure to come out every once in awhile to see if we were enjoying our meal. If you're in town, or driving through on your way to Tombstone or Bisbee, stop and eat here.

Great establishment, after passing by the place for over a year I decided to stop and give it a try. The dogs and onion rings are amazing, great price and variety. Service and atmosphere is cozy and enjoyable. Owners are down to earth and always interacting with the costumers for better service and improvement, they really care about their business and the costumer's experience.

What great folks, Scott and Gail! And there food is great as well. It is a must-eat-at site for sure! Do not expect just hit dogs as they have a great variety of foods to offer. Not sure what my fave is, but the Sonoran hot dog is high up on their list.

Such a gem food joint! E x t r e a m l y friendly service in a humble little spot off the side of the road, with plenty of choices and samples to choose from. Reasonably priced for the amount of food you get, and it's delicious too! Highly recommend it and I wish I could give it more then just 5 stars.

This place deserves more than 5 stars! Super good food, great prices, clean and most of all GREAR FRIENDLY service. Being a military family we have been all over but I can honestly say that I have never been to a place that as awesome as this. Did I mention you can eat off the bathroom floors and we went during mid day? If we are ever back this way y'all will be seeing us again :) we left full, happy with a great dining experience! Thank you Wild Dogs

Visiting the address and always prefer to try local flavors. Thanks to previous comments on Yelp we stopped here. Awesome dogs!!! My hubs and I both had the chili cheese dogs & fries!! Yums!! The owners were super friendly! (The old movies playing while we were here added to the extra special treat of this place!!)

We discovered this place thanks to all you Yelpers on our way to Bisbee. No, it doesn't look like much at first, but look closely and you'll find an immaculate, charming little food stand. You'll be greeted promptly upon entering, offered a sample or two and made to feel that you are genuinely welcome. Choices are plentiful and some are downright unique. Mostly hot dogs, some sandwiches and I believe I even saw fried chicken somewhere on the menu. The Sonoran dog is not your traditional Sonoran (refried beans and guacamole) but is tasty. The Chicago dog is also tasty and one of the better ones. Both are messy (in a good way) so make sure to accept the extra napkins they run over to you. The zucchini fries are easily over done so don't feel bad about skipping those. Don't eat too fast or they'll complain that they didn't have enough time to bring you more samples. Be sad because you'll be too full to order one of the Bavarian cream churros so you'll have to make a mental note to come back. And don't try to leave or they'll have to catch you at the door to offer to refill your drinks to take with you. Oh and don't worry about using the porta potty shed out back. You'll be impressed at how a porta potty can be so pleasantly clean. Nicely done Wild Dogs!!

Oh my goodness gracious. Me and my friend were just driving by Benson and stumbled across this joint on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I do have to say this series is great the food as well is superb. It definitely gets my rating of 4 stars I would have given at 5 the only downfall is that he uses small buns other than that everything is delicious

Such an awesome place to stop by for a quick bite of lunch. We had the Sonoran and the Chicago hot dogs and there were both super delicious. The owners were really friendly and they take an extra step to make sure their customers are comfortable.

These guys are great. Boyfriend and I stopped here on our way back to Tucson from Apple Annie's. We had just spent 2 hours lost in a corn maze and were STARVING. Got the brisket, Chicago dog, slaw dog, and Sonoran dog. Plus onion rings. All of the above were a hit, but the brisket, slaw dog and onion rings stood out as favorites. Excellent customer service and great food. Would recommend.

Great service as always, and so patient and kind with my son! We loved the Big bobcat chili dog and Sonoran dog and the Bavarian cream filled churro was divine!

We were in the area on vacation from California looking for a home town place to have lunch hotdogs here were great toppings are fresh. place was clean. the proprietor was friendly and warm and they gave us three refills on our sodas. We were not disappointed with this local restaurant for lunch

  • John T.

Folks that run the place are great so the service is always tops. Only criticism I have is that the hotdogs just don't seem to be hot enough especially once you add refrigerated condiments. Otherwise it's top quality.

Good selection, inexpensive, great service and pretty awesome hot dogs. Loved the trailer and picnic style seating too. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

We were headed for a different restaurant until I read the reviews on Yelp. We were not disappointed at all. The food was great and the owner went out of his way to make sure we were happy. Don't pass this one up on your way through Benson.

Ate there for the first time the other day. All of the five star reviews are definitely well deserved. Great food! Owner is super nice and gave us free samples of the brisket which was yummy. Best onion rings in town. I will be back for sure!

Delish!! Clean comfortable with exceptional service are just the icing on the cake for this hidden gem. Brisket sandwich was perfect & onion rings melted on the tongue just after the perfect crunch. If you want a quick exceptional meal made from the love of good food this is your place.

We drove past this place several times before we got tired of all of the other restaurants in Benson. When we did finally stop we were pleasantly surprised to find a very tidy very clean place, with good oldies music playing and two very nice people eager to please. If they have a special going they will likely offer you a sample. We have almost tried all of their dogs, all of which have been top notch! We plan to work our way through their considerable menu over the years to come. The service is outstanding, I would come just for the friendly owners energy and passion. Very good prices and great food!!

5 Stars on Yelp...had to try it! Well deserved! Get the Hot Link if you like spicy!! It was very good. Pan fried on a sesame buns. Very nice folks serving up good dogs!!

I'm blown away that we've lived in the area for a year and hadn't tried this place before today. It's run by a very nice couple. In fact as we walked up, this biker looking man overheard me mention the brisket sandwich and told me to ask for a sample. He then proceeded behind the counter and handed us multiple samples. He even brought my daughter a slushy on the house after she scarfed down her chili dog. The brisket was fall apart tender and so delicious, and the sanoran dog was out of this world. If you find yourself near Benson, AZ and don't stop in, you are definitely missing out. The entire experience was great and the owners are truly lovely people.

Need a quick bite on go? This is the place great food and service. Quality in every bite. Fries and onion rings are made fresh for individual order. Their menu also has lots of variety other than dogs. I recommend the brisket sandwich.

Holy crap is this place good! I bought the Chicago Hot Dog, and man...let me tell you..before I went into this place (that doesn't have the best curb appeal) I was wondering why I'd driven as far as I did just to buy a hot dog. This place doesn't disappoint! The lady behind the counter is very friendly, and the restaurant is very welcoming. I will definitely stop again when I'm back in the area. You really can't go wrong with this place. Highly recommend. Great food for an amazing price. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff.
