Nice bit of history, love the black and white photos of this place from the 40's. Hubby ordered the Eggs Benedict and it was over cooked. Should be able to cut into the egg and have the yolks run. Not the case, the yolks were hard. The ham was thinly sliced and fried like spam. Would not order again. The fruit bowl that came with the meal was good. I ordered the Cowboy Scramble which came filled with onions, peppers, nice chunks of ham and covered in cheese. It was served with country potatoes, very crispy, I prefer the softer. It was okay. Big enough portions to split for two. My meal came with bisquits and gravy. A HUGE HOMEMADE BISQUIT THAT WAS BAKED PERFECTLY AND THE GRAVY WAS WELL SEASONED. Great bisquits and gravy. In summary, if we were passing thru again, would try another restaurant before coming back unless I was craving bisquits and gravy :)

The chicken fried steak is amazing! I chose mashed potatoes as my side and you can tell they are homemade...none of the powder box stuff. The country gravy was also flavorful. Worth the trip from Tucson!

Very nice diner, unexpectedly extensive menu. I ordered The Big Dog, an enormous hot dog, wrapped in bacon and smothered in cheese, onions & jalapenos. It was deliciously done and the accompanying onion rings were perfectly cooked, crisp and tasty. My husband had the Bob Cat Burger and also found it delicious. We were well tended by the smiling and attentive Tina. In all, a thoroughly enjoyable lunch in the middle of an 8 hour drive.

Had a little wait, but that was because they were packed. This was on a Monday night. The wait was worth it. Service and food were excellent. Portions were large enough, that we all took food home. Definitely will return.

When I first entered the place I was a little off put by the decor. It is generally a western theme but seriously dated. All of that went away once the wait staff said hello. The ladies were all very friendly. The well magarita was sufficiently tasty. I ordered a bacon avocado burger and it was excellent. I will come here again.

If you leave this place hungry, I'd be very surprised! Best breakfast around the area! Huge servings of food! We order one meal with an extra plate and share! We had all you could eat fish for lunch and it was very good! They have the best pico de gallo I have ever tried!

Menu was pretty overwhelming to me. Waited awhile to get my order in. When I finally received my food it wasn't what I had hoped for. I got a chicken wrap and sweet potato fries, fries good, wrap not so much. Tomatoes were soggy and chicken had an odd flavor. Maybe just a bad choice but friendly atmosphere.

This place was a bit disappointing. The staff was friendly. We were greeted right away and seated. We got there before the dinner rush and there were only a few tables in the restaurant. The gentleman got our drinks right away and after that we were on our own. It took the waitress a while to take our order. The sampler platter was large and pretty tasty. The rest of our food was mediocre. Be careful if you order a salad with your meal, because I didn't get mine. I didn't even bother to remind the waitress and she didn't notice. Like I said, the staff is friendly and did check on us. I guess it would've been nice if they were more aware. I found it a bit awkward that we seemed to have multiple waitresses, no wonder my salad slipped through the cracks. Yet my meal had no side on the plate so that kinda should have been a sign. The final disappointing part if our visit was the fact that I wanted a piece of pie, but we weren't asked if we wanted dessert. Instead she placed the bill on the table. So my boyfriend just asked the girl at the front desk to add on a slice. I have a sweet tooth and was looking forward to the Banana Cream Pie. I dug in at home, and I wasn't impressed. It reminded me of banana pudding and was a little too sweet. Since there isn't much here, we will be back to visit. I guess I'll have to try the Chocolate Cream Pie next time.

This was a cute little place and the food was very nice and prices fair! The staff was friendly as well. The seat that i sat at had a sticky floor but the word was awesome and on point and honest about the food she did and didn't like. I'd come back.

I'm a local who visits there often. I LOVE their Cobb Salad, which has lots of goodies on it with no skimping on the bleu cheese (and their bleu cheese dressing tastes homemade). Their Mexican food is really good; I especially like the Nachos. And you cannot go wrong with their breakfasts...ever! They even have the option of using Egg Beaters, if you are cholesterol conscious.

Absolutely delicious. I filmed part of a TV show here and the owners were more than accommodating. The great thing was that we ate there a few times before announcing ourselves to get the vibe of the place and the food was amazing and wait staff on point. Best place in Benson!

This place was fun - a true diner. It looks a bit shady from the outside, but don't let that stop you if you are hungry. The waitstaff was knowledgable on the menu, and helped me decide between my top two. I went with a simple grilled ham and cheese. It was just like my mom would have made, and hit the spot. They serve breakfast all day (definite plus) and make sure to save room for dessert. The pastry counter looked absolutely fantabulous!

Stopped here for breakfast this morning before arriving at the Karchner Caverns. Excellent (and generous amount of) food and superior service. Will definitely be back next time we are in Benson.

I've been here once before & my friend a thousand times over & my friend thinks highly of this place & her husband & his friends often eat @ this place. The food is typically worthwhile, however not today!! We are thinking we must of gotten a new waitress, for it took our order way too long to get to the table. I'm not quiet sure how this waitress made it through the lunch rush. We got there just shortly after the rush hour & people were starting to leave. What is this waitresses excuse for slacking so long when only serving us Tea & Salad(?), there is no excuse. I remember her blaming the cook, by saying it would be here soon, (it may of been when it registered in her head to finally put the order in. We were ready to leave & when she came to our table, I asked her if the tea was free, cause we were ready to leave. Ironically, sad was she was just serving our salads by then. She was a slacker & got no tip!! However, a penny was all her service was worth: it was amazing she could actually serve refills of tea. She served others in a timely matter, so why was she so slow with us? There is no excuse, that she can give for her incompetence!! From now on, I will be using my iphone to time waitresses, due to lack of time management on this waitresses untimely delivery of our food to our table & I'll be sure to take notes of names: sad there is no time to relax & enjoy a meal: knowing it will be delivered as soon as possible. All I remember of the waitress was that she was a heavy set woman & she had dark hair. We had been there an hour, B4 our salad was served to us: according to my friend. We ate & left abt., a 1/2 hour later!! What a waist of time that was.

Bottom line up front: This place does not $!#& around! Doesn't look like much on the outside, but don't let that fool you. Walked in and this little restaurant is PACKED! Omelette and hashbrowns packed the entire plate with large chunks of sausage, bacon and ham goodness. Biscuit and gravy was good portions as well...but to be honest, the gravy was nothing special..just white gravy. Definitely worth a visit if you're ever in Benson, AZ.

We stopped here on the way back from seeing the sandhill cranes at Whitewater Draw. Our friend loved their liver and onions plate and wanted to stop for another helping. How could we resist trying out a new place??! It's a quaint little diner with western decor. The menu is loaded with lots of choices of good ol' American food. The ladies serving us were very friendly and attentive. I had a tuna melt on marbled rye bread with fries and it was quite good...could have been melted a bit more but it was a very generous serving. My partner had a veggie burger. She got sweet potato fries with it and they were fabulous. We would certainly eat here again when passing through Benson.

Great food and reasonably priced. Glad we found this place. The chicken fried chicken was the perfect comfort food.

The description says comfort food- that is spot on. They do it well here. Service can be very slow, however.

Food was just okay! Hubby had open roast beef sandwich with potatoes and gravy, gravy was not good did not taste homemade! I had monte cristo it was French toast with a little meat and cheese inside. It came with tiny store bought grape jelly! Dry oh so dry! the waitress not particularly friendly either. Will avoid this place if I travel through here again.

Live locally and go there often for breakfast. Have only ever had breakfast there, but in each case it was delicious, fresh, hot, and plenty of it. Hamsteak is huge! Chorizo and egg plate is awesome. Go for the country potatoes! Good service. Place is clean.
