Amazing good and service. Coming from Tucson Arizona headed back home we stopped in benson. Not sure of the food options we saw a sign for apples and decided to try it out. Going in we were not sure if the place would be good or not but we were greeted by a friendly waitress and seated right away. After ordering food came out promptly and hot. Ordered sandwiches and steak and it was incredible. We went ahead and got apple pie for dessert and we enjoyed every bite. The food is home cooked and amazing and we could not have been happier. Perfect touched and fresh. If you are going to benson or through it please stop and check it out. Being a small place it's very comfortable and the staff is friendly and caring. You can also admire the old style decorations and the salt pepper collection.

Let's start by saying horrible service. As we started to order, our waitress kept insisting that we order different items. Turns out that they no longer made a few of the menu selections. Something about apples being too expensive. We started by ordering 4 hot chocolates and received 4 cold chocolate syrups. Scrambled eggs were cold and flavorless, just horrible. The banana nut French toast was dry, as if the bread was old. Although, I must say, the blueberry pancakes were pretty good and the hash browns were OK. 4 plates and 4 cold hot chocolates later $51 As our waitress came back to retrieve our plates, she was not happy about seeing our full cups of chocolate. She verbally disapproved of the tip, took the money and went on to grab a pastry with ungloved hands, for an other customer. Steer clear of this place especially if you see the Asian waitress.

Having been to a few local restaurants we were hoping that we would luck out yet again with another great restaurant, however this restaurant fails miserably in nearly every aspect. The service was okay but that just about sums up the visit. The prices are very high and the food is very bland. We had two orders of eggs Benedict and order of biscuits with sausage gravy and and a child's menu item of pancakes bacon and one egg scrambled. The hollandaise sauce has almost no flavor whatsoever, the poached eggs were not quite done right the English muffins were hard and the Canadian bacon had an almost sweet taste to it. The sausage gravy was also very bland, had little to no sausage, just little tiny bits of it but no real flavor and the biscuits were greasy and dense rather than light and fluffy. Of some redeeming value, the child's menu item; the pancakes bacon and scrambled egg were actually pretty good. The pancakes were light and fluffy in the middle with a slight crispy edge and were very good , it's pretty hard to mess up scrambled eggs and bacon so not going to write about those. The prices at this establishment are exorbitant for what you receive and I'm not talking simply portions but rather the quality of the food. Head just down the road for a far better experience with much better tasting food at the Horseshoe Cafe. While we did not sample their entire menu what we did sample left a bad taste in our mouth and a lighter wallet, we would definitely not recommend this diner/restaurant to anybody......go elsewhere.

Stopped by on my way to Tombstone. I don't post many reviews, but this place was just excellent. I had the apple and blueberry stuffed french toast with a extra of biscuits with sausage gravy. Food arrived quickly and tasted great.

The food was great but the waitress was terrible. She was even complaining about how little of a tip customers before us had left. We found out why she was getting small tips!

Very quaint little restaurant, very cozy and clean with great customer service. Our waitress was the sweetest lady and the cook even came out to ask us how our meals were. The food was served to us in the matter of minutes, was amazingly fresh and so delicious for even more amazing prices. I had a freshly ground bacon avocado burger that was a very good size with a side of fresh and ripe fruit, lemonade... all for under $10! You can't get that anywhere, especially these nasty fast food places. Would recommend this to anyone who could appreciate a "mom and pop" atmosphere and can appreciate a great local restaurant.

We took a day trip to Tombstone and stopped here, just happened to see it. Food was delicious, fries the best! My husband and teen son think I am crazy for being critical about fries. Ask yourself how many big chain places do mediocre fries? They are usually cold, tasteless and unremarkable. This place seasoned the fries but did not over salt. I had a turkey cheese sandwich, husband had a club sandwich and son had pancakes - we all loved it. It seemed locals went there so we knew it would be good. Looks like a house converted into a restaurant which is fine with me. I would rather eat at a simple family owned place then a chain restaurant that paid more attention to cool perfectly printed advertising to entice folks with boxed pre-cooked food put off as homemade.

Welcomes you to Benson, very friendly, and the food is amazing! Organic fruit, and the eggs Benedict is the best in az. A must stop!!!

I had high hopes coming in here because I love mom & pop greasy spoon places. Initially, neither the woman that served us nor the menu did anything to dash those hopes. It was not until I received a plate of hash browns looking suspiciously like country potatoes ("I didn't know you wanted hash browns", the Cook), a well done steak that had been ordered medium rare, and "over medium" eggs with a fully cooked yolk that things went down hill. The 7/8 (sic) oz sirloin was also about 3 oz of gristle and fat. The flavor of the food was ok but decidedly sub par. The waitress also hovered over us as we signed the credit receipt. It was so awkward that my dining companion felt compelled to reduced the tip. This will not be a place I return to.

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to Tombstone. My first impression was that this is a restaurant that would be on the tv show Restaurant Impossible. It wasn't particularly clean, the ceiling tiles were rotting from water leaks, and dirty dishes were left sitting there on half of the tables! The quality of the food did not disappoint my first impression. I ordered an omelette with hash browns and a biscuit and gravy and a pancake on the side. The hash browns were lukewarm and greasy. The omelette was greasy but ok. The biscuit, however, was disgusting. If you ate salt with a spoon, you've tasted their biscuit. The gravy was that gross gravy you get from a powder mix. I love biscuits and gravy, and I only took two bites of their's. Their only saving grace was the pancake. It was actually pretty good. I would not eat here again.

Went here for breakfast on our way back to Tucson. We thought about supporting a local business and trying something that wasn't a chain. Boy were we wrong...McDonald's would have been a better choice. There were 5 of us, and we are not picky or unreasonable people. We were seated quickly (after having waited a few minutes for someone to show up), and had our drink order taken. A few minutes later, the man who seated us took our order. He wasn't particularly forthcoming with friendliness or even personality. He answered questions, but offered no extra details. My friend ordered plain pancakes, and another ordered coffee with a water, while I had water and a scramble. The drinks never came. The food showed up after about 15 minutes, and still no drinks. The pancakes that showed up were blueberry. Not plain. There was no recognition of what was ordered or a check in to make sure all was accurate. There was an issue there. The drinks only came after we asked for them. A huge no no. There was a couple that was seated already, and they had a table full of food, but they got up and walked away. We aren't sure why, but they left it all. Another table sent something back, and it looked like a cook was arguing with them about it. We will not be going here again. We do not recommend this place at all. Out of the 5 of us, the server earned a $0.33 tip. That was only because I paid in cash and didn't care for my change.

The food wasn't bad...but the service was sorely lacking. The waitress said everything was home-made but the chicken sandwich had frozen chicken. Quaint little place...nice view of the mountains.

My wife and I ate breakfast here 3 days in a row while visiting family and loved every visit. Atmosphere and staff were good but the food is the real prize. They have the best biscuits and gravy I've had since South Carolina. The potatoes were fantastic and my wife loved the stuffed french toast. I really enjoyed the chicken fried pork steak as well. The second time we visited the cook/owner came out to welcome us back and see how our meal tasted. Great experience overall.

Yum. We had a fantastic breakfast at Farmhouse Restaurant in Benson. My meal of eggs and apple smoked bacon came with an amazing pumpkin muffin and crispy county potatoes. My husband had the chorizo and eggs with hashbrowns and wants to return again soon. On the way out I spotted a cinnamon apple roll that looked delicious. The service was very friendly and efficient!

This place was awful! The country potatoes were not seasoned, chicken was processed and chewy, and my eggs were raw! When I told my waiter that they were raw all he did was put the whole plate in the MICROWAVE! Never going back.

I would like to say the food was good.....not great. Beans on the spoiled side. The waitress we had for breakfast was just terrible. Messed up both orders..had to take one back and charged extra for things we did not get. When asked about the amount she stated, "Just give me the money, I have customers." My wife stated she is a customer and was ttold by the waitress, "If you don't like it go to McDonalds." Well, guess where I will never eat again? Sad to see a mean and nasty waitress ruin a good little restaurant.

My wife and I stopped by for lunch today. We parked our rv in the WalMart shopping center parking lot behind the restaurant. I had the fried chicken and my wife had a cheeseburger. My meal started out with soup and salad. Everything is homemade at this restaurant, even the salad dressings. The serve and the food were top notch. A must visit while in Benson.

2.5 stars is my choice on this one. Went here for breakfast and my wife and I could not complain too much about the food. My "Slam" was very good and her scramble was good except a small portion did not appear to be fully cooked. That's the food review. Serivice: That would be a rating of -5. I do not know why this person was even there or waiting tables. We wondered if she got called in because someone else did not show up. This person was the worse wait person I've seen in years. Here is how this went: First the greeting was a look of why don't you go down the street to the Horseshoe or some place else. We asked for water and when it was delivered we get a snarly "do you know what you want?". No, not yet..and off she went which is fine. Back she came when we were ready and I told her my order...no problem...but when my wife ordered she scribbled on the pad and off she went to the kitchen to turn the order in. Then I see her come back, get a menu, look to see (presumably) what those options were on my wife's order then back to the kitchen. When she came by our table my wife asked her "what about the 2 options for my order?". The waitress said you did not tell me what you wanted so I assumed what you wanted, wrote it on the ticket and turned it in. She continues; you are suppose to tell me all the things you want when you order. I said, you are suppose to ask. Ok, this person now goes into an argumentative state which I will not write about. It is at this point we should have got up and departed but did not because of the "food" revues here on Yelp. Will we be back to Farmhouse? We might if we peek in the door and see a sensible wait person is there...if the one we had is there we will go some place else. Very sad as I think this place probably serves up some good food. Next time we will try the Horseshoe. If you go here, make sure you if you get the snarly one (you will know) to spit out everything you want as she will not ask you if you want....this...or that.

This is about the only good place to eat in Benson. Im serious. The hash browns were crispy, the stuffed French toast was a smash. The bacon even was even cooked perfectly. Nothing else In benson even comes close. The air conditioned yet cozy, warmy lit ambiance were just what I was looking for in a breakfast outing.

Tired of Mexican. Want some gooood vegetables? We were on our way to California and it was about 1:30. I wanted some vegetables and salad. Ordered from the specials menu I got salad, vegetables, 4 pieces of chicken and a dessert- no way I could eat all that!! Excellent food, excellent price Waitress seemed a little annoyed, but service was satisfactory! Place was clean and cheerful atmosphere

Awesome breakfast! We've been to this restaurant a few times for breakfast & we love it! The food is homemade, hot & fresh. The homemade muffins with fresh rubarb jam is to die for! It's nice to have a local restaurant that serves a good breakfast. We'll certainly be back :)

At 1st appearance the restaurant is nicely decorated in farm decor. We (my family of 5) were greeted by a not so friendly hostess/waitress. (She was Filipino, I think) We were seated quickly and within a few moments asked for our drink order. Upon ordering just water the waitress argued with me telling me I didn't want just water. I assured her water was what I wanted. A few minutes later our drinks were brought and our orders taken. The food was brought about 10 min later. I can't say it was great, more so so. Honestly it was comparable to fast food. The chicken on my sandwich tasted freezer burned and my bread was so saturated in butter I couldn't eat it. The not so friendly waitress checked on us 1 more time and dropped off the bill. I reviewed the bill and notice the total much higher than expected. I saw that the waitress had slipped in an addition meal to our ticket. I approached her at the register and inquired about this additional charge. She rudely snatched the bill from my hand. She began recalculating it and handed me a printout from her old school adding machine. I asked for a menu and the bill back to review the remaining charges. She told me it was right and would not grant either request. I again questioned her about another charge. After numerous questions she finally admitted she was adding in a 20% tip for herself. She would not reduce the bill nor remove the tip and allow me to tip according to what I felt appropriate. Out of frustration I paid the bill and left. I'm so upset about my experience and will never return nor recommend anyone eat at this restaurant. I felt like she was trying to rip me off, very sneaky and dishonest.

We stopped here on our cross country trip looking for food and gas at Wilcox. The original restaurant we/chosen was closed. This one looked inviting and it was! We both had breakfast for lunch! It was very very good! The fruit I had was very fresh! My boy's biscuit was amazing! Both of our omlettes were delish! Glad we could eat here and support a local business person!

Found this small restaurant after touring kartchner caverns. Great homemade apple vinegar salad dressing and the fresh ground beef mushroom burger was made to perfection topped with lettuce tomato pickle and 1000 island dressing . Wish they bottled and sold the dressing!

We ate here a couple of times two years ago and the food and service made us satisfied enough to return. We saw the sign for $4.99 Breakfast and Lunch specials. What a disappointment. Instead of ordering what looked like pretty nice breakfast specials, we both ordered the $6.99 Buckwheat pancakes. The serving consisted of three, not thick, or medium, but rather between medium and thin, palm size pancakes and a small container of cold cinnamon apples, kind of like pie filling. No syrup was offered not did we request any. Buckwheat has a distinct flavor, much of which was missing from these pancakes. I rolled each pancake up like a tortilla and in ten bites, the pancakes were gone. The apples were prepared with excess cinnamon for my taste, but we ate them anyway. Upon paying for the meal at the register, I asked the waitress if she would like any input. We explained about the quality and quantity of the meal and she said she would tell the owner. Perhaps the waitress just isn't a people person, and perhaps the cook had a bad batch of buckwheat, but the portion size for the price was way off, the quality of the pancakes left much to be desired, and we did not feel welcome. We were there for a total of twenty minutes. Quickest meal I've ever had.

My family and I stopped in because I was looking at the reviews and thought I would try it. I am so happy that we did . The food was AMAZING!!!! The only reason I didn't give the place 5 stars is because the drinks were bad at first. The tea didn't taste good, so I changed it and my daughters drink had a couple of ants in it. It was all resolved and overall it was a good choice! Prices were reasonable. Good stop when on the road traveling thru. Try the bacon and pancakes- SO YUMMY!!!!!!

Stopped in for breakfast on our way to New Mexico. What a find! Possibly the best breakfast we've ever had... I had the hash, my wife had the cinamon french toast, and my son had the breakfast burrito. Everything was fantastic. We could find ourselves making a special trip out to Benson just for breakfast. Highly recommend.

My husband, daughters and I stopped here on a Friday morning on our way to Apple Annie's orchard. I must first state that it is on the right side if the road, right past Walmart. Our Yelp! Directions told us it was on the left side and we passed it. Now, once we found it, we loved it! I would chose this place leaps and bounds above Cracker Barrel! The muffins are amazing and hand made, so fresh! The fruit platter for kids was the best and biggest I have ever seen for the price. However, the best meal we had was hands down the Chili Verde Omelette! Holy moly, it was so fluffy and was very flavorful! The waitress was awesome and we had outstanding customer service throughout the whole meal! We will be coming here much more often!!

Tried this place out because of the sign, figured it was a good small town cafe but I was wrong. Server was rude and accused us of not leaving a tip (which we did anyway) the food was overpriced and the portions on the small side which would have been fine if the quality was better, ordered a steak rare and got something well done and tough and the gravy wasn't cooked through. Overall service is what killed it and won't be going back

The decor is cute. The menu has lots of choices. The food is decent, but won't be making your list of most memorable meals unless you just don't get out much. I'd visit again.

It is a Mom & Pop cafe/restaurant with very good food and the prices are reasonable. Do not expect a lot of choices for special things like muffins. Only 3 choices. Some one was in today and was complaining of their "limited" choices of muffins! They have a very nice selection of breakfasts and lunches!!! Give it a try. You will not be sorry, unless you expect IHOP or some other BIG chain.

What a great surprise! A quiet little town in Southern New Mexico, just days before Christmas, and we eat plant-based and weren't sure we'd find good veggie cooking. We chose their 5-course meal...minus the meat entrée. We asked if an assortment of veggies could be added to the country fried potatoes. Oh my...yum yum yum. Colorful, tasty and full of flavor. What a surprise find! The cook at Farmhouse knows what he's doing! He came out to see if we were happy...and he said he's Italian and cooks his veggies al dente. We will definitely eat here again. And I forgot to mention the corn bread...oh wow...and the honey mustard salad dressing...the best I've ever had...it's almost a sweet-n-sour dressing. Go!!
