We love Wild Dogs! Everything is top notch and delicious!!
This is the best restaurant in Benson, and has the friendliest staff. We discovered this place a while back and have been hooked ever since. Its my daughters favorite place. If you ask her what she wants to do for the day, she says Wild Dogs every time. Everything I have tried has been out of this world. The owners are awesome, a restaurant doesn't get any cleaner than this one, and it feels very cozy. I go about 2 times a week if I can. Its a real treat for us to spend our time at Wild Dogs. I highly recommend this place. Whether you live around these parts or just passing through, its worth the stop. I promise !!!
This place is amazing! Killer Sonoran Dogs and amazing hand cut fries. The owner is super friendly, and gives free samples of anything you might want to try. They have a Hawaiian Dog not listed on the menu that is incredible!

Don't let the exterior fool you. The inside is clean and the food is good. The recipes are done by someone who knows food and presentation. When I saw the white waiter when I walked in, I thought ... but, his wife (the Chef) has skills. The AZ Chimi was Awesome! A must stop in Benson. It took me 10 minutes to locate it. It's at 723 not 732. (The first guy to post must have been dyslexic, oh well so was Einstein)
Wow what an incredible place! I love the unassuming charm of the old building, but let's focus on the important stuff, the food! Probably the best chips and salsa ever. I knew the second I tasted those that we had made a good choice. My Arizona chimichanga was awesome. Surprisingly it was the cabbage that set it apart. Everything was super fresh. My only complaint is that I could not enjoy a cold margarita with my meal. They don't have a liquor license. I'd make the 3 hour drive here again just for the food!
The best meal we had in Arizona. I'm used to good quality seafood, So even though i heard good things on yelp about the shrimp enchiladas I was still dubious. But they were really good. Good quality shrimp and a very tasty and light sauce. Everything was prepared so well that it stood up to bring reheated the next day! We also had a beef taco which was good. Good refried beans. Not spicy at all, like all the Mexican food we had in Arizona. An Anglo guy waited in us and seemed to be manager/owner. I don't understand the salsa they put out at the beginning of the meal though. Strange/odd, but all the other salsas were good.

Fulfilling and yummy breakfast!!! Pancakes are delicious and you need to try their biscuits too! Great prices with a large selection of menu items. Their service was great too; very friendly staff! Even chatted with the Benson locals for a bit. I'll definitely be stopping here again.
One of the best in Benson. The breakfast is amazing. Don't visit for lunch or dinner that often. But we do have breakfast here 2 to 4 times a month.
My daughter and I SHARED a Bacon Avocado Burger, sweet potato fries, and regular fries. We enjoyed every morsel and it was just what I was craving. We were stopping in Benson on a road trip and this cafe/restaurant was recommended the hotel employees where we stayed. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The quantity of food was enough for me and my daughter without ending up with leftover--all for about $13!!!

During the day Randy is the cook, and he may be the best cook in Benson. I've also played the course, but I'm not a serious golfer so will refrain from commenting on that. But the food and service is good. Outdoor patio is great!

I had a few beers .the bartender was nice n pretty . Good service. Friendly locals. Thanks Gabe for the ride.
This is pretty much the best bar in the world. I went here with some buddies and ordered a pitcher of beer for like 2 cents then noticed that on the other side of the huge window a dude was engaging in some legit rodeo action. There were horses, little cow things, beer, some sweet Hank Williams karaoke, and many cowboy hats. There were no flirtinis ordered at this joint. I wish I could teleport to this bar. If you are ever near Benson. Go.
Benson Arizona. I don't make too many promises, not since getting married anyway, but here's one especially for my Yelp friends. I promise that if you're in Benson Arizona on a Saturday night in the springtime, there will be absolutely nothing to do except come here. This place is an oddity. It's a rodeo arena and bar all rolled into one. From inside the bar, the large plate glass windows showcase the arena. Or.. You can take your ice-cold beer outside without putting it in a cup, mosey over to the bleachers and watch rodeo while drinking beer. Or.. You can get all fucked-up while sitting in the bleachers, go pee in the nearby parking lot, leave your truck door open by mistake, and later return to a truck whose driver-side door has now been sprung from it's hinges...obviously the result of someone much drunker than me, probably driving a Dodge pickup. Should have known. One star only for the guy who kissed my door with his rear bumper. The Arena bar is tucked away off the main drag and it's kind of hard to spot. You, however won't be, as you drive back to the Motel 8 in your newly remodeled truck, it's door propped open and nearly touching the ground, a scene reminiscent of Chris Farley and David Spade's car in Tommy Boy. Thank God the sheriff was at the Arena that night and not patrolling the roads. So another four stars for my not getting a dewey. Note: Repair shops aren't open Sundays in Tuscon, making the trip up I-10 sans driver-side door a real fucking treat. If you tell me I'm stupid, at least have the decency to speak into my left ear since it's now mostly deaf from the 180 mile-drive. Go Arena Bar.

Stumbled upon this nifty ice cream stop on our way to Tombstone when we missed the left turn to head south on AZ 80. We stepped up to the counter to see they had 44 different soft serve flavors-crazy and overwhelmed I asked the friendly girl behind the counter what her favorite was since they did not have mocha (they did have cappuccino), which I thought was kinda strange since they also do all kinds of coffee drinks. I had the black cherry and wished I could come here everyday to try some other more exotic flavors!
Very good soft serve ice cream fast service and a nice variety of items on there menu with good prices.
A little oasis in the desert. We never anticipated finding such a fabulous ice cream place along the road to Tombstone. 44 different flavors of soft serve ice cream. If we lived locally, we'd be visiting frequently. A "must-stop" for those passing through Benson!

Nice bit of history, love the black and white photos of this place from the 40's. Hubby ordered the Eggs Benedict and it was over cooked. Should be able to cut into the egg and have the yolks run. Not the case, the yolks were hard. The ham was thinly sliced and fried like spam. Would not order again. The fruit bowl that came with the meal was good. I ordered the Cowboy Scramble which came filled with onions, peppers, nice chunks of ham and covered in cheese. It was served with country potatoes, very crispy, I prefer the softer. It was okay. Big enough portions to split for two. My meal came with bisquits and gravy. A HUGE HOMEMADE BISQUIT THAT WAS BAKED PERFECTLY AND THE GRAVY WAS WELL SEASONED. Great bisquits and gravy. In summary, if we were passing thru again, would try another restaurant before coming back unless I was craving bisquits and gravy :)
The chicken fried steak is amazing! I chose mashed potatoes as my side and you can tell they are homemade...none of the powder box stuff. The country gravy was also flavorful. Worth the trip from Tucson!
Very nice diner, unexpectedly extensive menu. I ordered The Big Dog, an enormous hot dog, wrapped in bacon and smothered in cheese, onions & jalapenos. It was deliciously done and the accompanying onion rings were perfectly cooked, crisp and tasty. My husband had the Bob Cat Burger and also found it delicious. We were well tended by the smiling and attentive Tina. In all, a thoroughly enjoyable lunch in the middle of an 8 hour drive.

We had an exceptional meal last night. I had their special which was a chicken breast over rice and beans with a salsa on top and my wife had fried liver and onions. Both food and service were excellent.
2.5 I suppose. Nothing special. It had more business than the other places in town we passed. When we walked out I saw the RV Park Observatory (cool!), and the Safeway Super Market. Probably should have just foraged in there.
On our drive back to one of our former areas of residence in Arizona, we stopped at Galleano's for lunch. My wife had the patty melt and fries which she said was good. I had the angel hair pasta with marinara sauce and meat balls. My meal was good, but I have had better meat balls. The included bread stick was very ordinary, not even warm, and the salad was okay, nothing special. Service was very good.

I've been to Tombstone many times over the past 40+ years and I've passed Reb's the same amount of time because it was always the wrong time of day for a meal. Well I finally stopped and had chicken fried steak. The steak was so tender you could cut it with just your fork. The mashed potatoes were perfect and the salad and vegetables were fresh and tasty. Rebs is old fashioned down home diner food. Nothing more nothing less. It's food and service we used to expect from a family owned establishment and Reb's does not disappoint. Now I stop whenever I go by no matter what time of day or night. Keep on truckin' Reb.
I was down here by accident and really this place was my second accident of the day. I ordered the border skillet which sounds pretty good with chorizo, hash browns, peppers, eggs, tomatoes, and cheese. It wasn't. The chorizo was flavorless and greasy. The cheese wasn't cheese, it's like that fake nacho cheese sauce the movie theaters buy by the gallon and the salty "I don't have a name for this taste but it is bad" sauce is poured it all over your skillet. It just ends up a mushy mess. Coffee was definitely overpriced. They don't accept amex. Staff was okay and the place looks clean.
The food was mediocre and service was bad. We went there for breakfast. My husband ordered the breakfast platter with 2 pork chops. When his plate came out the pork chops were literally one piece cut in half. I had the corned beef hash and it wasn't that good. It tasted and looked like it came from a can. If you're looking for a spot to fill you up and you don't have high expectations then this is it.

Amazing good and service. Coming from Tucson Arizona headed back home we stopped in benson. Not sure of the food options we saw a sign for apples and decided to try it out. Going in we were not sure if the place would be good or not but we were greeted by a friendly waitress and seated right away. After ordering food came out promptly and hot. Ordered sandwiches and steak and it was incredible. We went ahead and got apple pie for dessert and we enjoyed every bite. The food is home cooked and amazing and we could not have been happier. Perfect touched and fresh. If you are going to benson or through it please stop and check it out. Being a small place it's very comfortable and the staff is friendly and caring. You can also admire the old style decorations and the salt pepper collection.
Let's start by saying horrible service. As we started to order, our waitress kept insisting that we order different items. Turns out that they no longer made a few of the menu selections. Something about apples being too expensive. We started by ordering 4 hot chocolates and received 4 cold chocolate syrups. Scrambled eggs were cold and flavorless, just horrible. The banana nut French toast was dry, as if the bread was old. Although, I must say, the blueberry pancakes were pretty good and the hash browns were OK. 4 plates and 4 cold hot chocolates later $51 As our waitress came back to retrieve our plates, she was not happy about seeing our full cups of chocolate. She verbally disapproved of the tip, took the money and went on to grab a pastry with ungloved hands, for an other customer. Steer clear of this place especially if you see the Asian waitress.
Having been to a few local restaurants we were hoping that we would luck out yet again with another great restaurant, however this restaurant fails miserably in nearly every aspect. The service was okay but that just about sums up the visit. The prices are very high and the food is very bland. We had two orders of eggs Benedict and order of biscuits with sausage gravy and and a child's menu item of pancakes bacon and one egg scrambled. The hollandaise sauce has almost no flavor whatsoever, the poached eggs were not quite done right the English muffins were hard and the Canadian bacon had an almost sweet taste to it. The sausage gravy was also very bland, had little to no sausage, just little tiny bits of it but no real flavor and the biscuits were greasy and dense rather than light and fluffy. Of some redeeming value, the child's menu item; the pancakes bacon and scrambled egg were actually pretty good. The pancakes were light and fluffy in the middle with a slight crispy edge and were very good , it's pretty hard to mess up scrambled eggs and bacon so not going to write about those. The prices at this establishment are exorbitant for what you receive and I'm not talking simply portions but rather the quality of the food. Head just down the road for a far better experience with much better tasting food at the Horseshoe Cafe. While we did not sample their entire menu what we did sample left a bad taste in our mouth and a lighter wallet, we would definitely not recommend this diner/restaurant to anybody......go elsewhere.
